I'm not sure why this place gets high reviews, it was not a good experience for us. The rolls were put together very poorly. Uneven height and falling apart / not wrapped properly. I don't really wanna eat at a sushi place where the chef can't even cut rolls evenly and wrap them tightly. The ingredients were fine but the way they made the rolls was actually kinda embarrassing. The staff was actually kinda rude in a weird way. Not saying goodbye when we said bye and being weirdly silent like a family member just died or something we're just passing through so I'm not sure if there's any good food in this town but there is not a chance we will be back
This place is my favourite hidden gem when I’m passing through sunny Tsawwassen . The owner / sushi chef is a literal sushi artist ! She’s always so friendly and remembers my order ! The food is consistently fresh and you need to try the monster bites they are my favourite thing in the world ! Below is the monster bites and the tuna aburi roll 🥰 they have daily specials as well ! I guarantee you won’t be disappointed in this food ! The restaurant itself is small but it’s a homey feeling 🥰
We were in from out of town and craved sushi, and boy did we ever find a hidden gem! Small and quaint, the food, atmosphere, service, and everything else were absolutely top-notch. Very fresh and tasty food at a great value. We will be going out of our way next time we're in town to come back for another meal. If you want some great sushi, this is the place.
A small sushi place across from Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall. Seems to be family run. They are closed between 3-4pm for lunch break. The sushi is fresh and has some nice flavor and plating. Tried the monkey brain, a deep fried avocado with tuna and imitation crab appy - was pretty good. The toro sashimi was quite fresh. Some of their rolls do seem to be similar in terms of ingredients but they were good.
Cozy decorated place. Presentation was lovely. I was craving tonkotsu ramen and they did not disappoint!! The pork was so soft and flavorful and the broth is creamy and subtle. Unagi, tamago and salmon were fresh. The roll was bursting with flavor. Croquettes were perfectly crunchy and crispy too. I definitely want to come back soon. Thanks for the great lunch.
Nice staff and very well presented and tasty sushi. My partner who doesn’t like fish enjoyed the spicy agedashi tofu very much! It had a different texture than other places we’ve been to. I am a raw fish fan and thoroughly enjoyed their rainbow roll, which was fresh and pleasant to the pallet. Would go again and try something more intriguing like the Toto Tower!
Excellent food! Such attention to detail in presentation too! I had the Twwassen Set ($16.95) which included assorted Sashimi, California rolls, miso soup, ebi sunomono salad, beef teriyaki, rice, and assorted tempura. Sashimi: fresh, clean, mellow, not fishy at all Assorted Tempura: very good, crisp, flavorful, and delicious. Nice crunch factor Beef terriyaki: just like Edo so average but fresh and good Rice: nicely steamed, above average Sunomono: tangy, done right Miso Soup: generic but with added fresh soft tofu Great lunch.
Very friendly staff. Sushi rolls were excelled. I found the chicken teriyaki a little soggy (I like it when there’s a crunch crust on the outside of the chicken). Over all it was a great experience.

Good food, although a little high priced. The atmosphere is warm but the restaurant seating area is extremely restricted and very small. It was not too busy so it was not a problem. But something to be aware of. They would not be able to accommodate a large group.
the portions are so tiny for what youre paying... tiny slices of veggies and 2 green beans for the tempura portion of my dinner box. No rice with the teriyaki. Salad was about 8 pieces of lettuce and half a cherry tomato. Disappointing. Would not return even if the food was tasty due to the sheer terrible portion for the cost.
Updated: Called to confirm if they were open for dine in specifically before we headed over. When we got there the lady in the back instructed the waitress that it was take out only. Pure waste of time and poor customer service. It almost felt like the lady was selectively deciding who was allowed to dine in or not. Highly inconsistent. Original: Great family owned spot with fresh sashimi, special rolls and more!
Stopped in here before a round of golf. Didnt really know what to expect as I was just looking for a place to eat on my way to the course. Its a small restaurant from what I could see. Maybe 5 or 6 tables(?). It looked like it is a small family run restaurant. There were two people in the kitchen. I ordered the Tsawwassen box and it was really good. There was a lot of food and the sashimi was fresh and very delicious. The surprise was that the salmon was wild salmon and the tuna was a very nice cut, not the usual big mushy cut of fish to make up for the lack of quality.

Some of the best and freshest sushi I ve had in a long time. The salmon and toro was literally melt in your mouth, the yam roll was awesome, excellent service, great prices, there are tons of sushi places around but there is something about this place that makes me drive out once a week. Keep it up Toto Sushi!

Tempura batter was a little thick. Spicy sushi was good but a little heavy on the sauce as others have noted. Service was very good. The bathroom was DIRTY. Not as in the last patron made a mess, but more like it has not been thoroughly cleaned in a long time.
Quaint. Peaceful and fresh spot to enjoy originally prepared food whether with kids or not. Decor is warm, space is clean. Staff is just the right amount of engaged. Take-out to enjoy at the beach beats fast food!!

What a rude and nasty family. The food was quite expensive, and once I got the food I was shocked to see how small the rolls were. Also no one came over to refill our waters. We didn t tip and the son has the nerve to confront me and my girlfriend on my we didn t tip and the mother starts getting all nasty. After that the son stared us down in the parking lot and I got out of the car to talk with him. What a miserable family I hope they go bankrupt

Ordered take out and didn t expect the portion is sooooo small! The ramen only comes with few tiny pieces of pork (not chashu) and seaweed only and costs $16.95. Lunch set portion is sooo small that doesn t worth $20. The taste is nothing special. I am so regret not to read all the comments before coming to this place. Don t understand why 4.6 star. Never go there again.
Popped in for a late lunch and was, amazed at how beautifully presented my,dish was and the crispy crumb best I have ever had. The chef was humbled by my compliments, I can assure you better than the best in Surrey England. Highly recommended to anyone visiting YVR worth it!
Really good sushi here but would prefer with a bit less mayo and sauce on the spicy agedashi tofu and spicy yam roll. Other than that, great sushi! Not a huge amount of seating inside

Ive lived in this area for years and this was my first time here and was I ever IMPRESSED! . Wish Id thought to try this place earlier! I usually go to ladner for a similar meal so now I have a place to go in Tsaw too! I ordered the Tsawwassen Lunch Set. Everything was fresh and delicious and nicely presented and packaged for take out. I also felt safe that covid rules were being followed. I highly recommend and I would definitely come here again.

Worst customer service. I have eaten here on several occasions. The food is fabulous. But I am baffled as to why I cannot get an extra prawn in my dinner box. Peekaboo happily gives me extra prawns and I pay extra for them!!! The young lady on the phone told me this was not in the interest of Toto and would not be able to accommodate my request. I have been in the hospitality industry for 40 years and am baffled by the Toto philosophy. Oh well, off to Peekaboo I go. Will be happy to give them my money for excellent service.
Happy I found this cute little place! Bibimbap and sashimi. Prawn tempura was the best. It s small inside but they ve made it such a cute tucked-in spot. We enjoyed Toto Sushi!
Got a combo meal. Ebi sunomono, tempura & miso were solid. Fish was amazing. Absolutely no fishy taste whatsoever. Freshest sushi Ive ever had.
I had stone pot bibimbap and it was delicious. I plan to visit again with my children.

Delicious Japanese food.
We had Monster bite, spicy salmon rolls and Tonkatsu ramen. The sushi were interesting, they were too heavily sauced for my taste. Im surprised that the spicy salmon roll was heavily spiked with mayo/chilli, very unusual. They were quite stingy with the fish as the amount used was very small. The ramen was good, the Tonkatsu broth was very favorful and has the typical creamyness. So if u want a healthy serving of traditional sushi fish, this is not the place for u. IMHO, I think this place is more tailored for western taste.

Great hidden gem in Tsawwassen. Not a lot of seating area but it is ok for quick bite. Great friendly service and very clean. The food were delicious. Fresh, tasty, good portion, and great presentation. I can feel the owner put a lot of heart and thoughts into their dishes. I can see alot of little details that were put together. It is very high quality restaurant and I would want to come back again.
Toto Sushi is PHENOMENAL. We are regulars and never cease to be impressed with their quality and craftsmanship. Sushi has always been an art to me and the chefs at Toto truly exemplify such artistry. Their service is friendly and very helpful while ensuring customer satisfaction and overall attentiveness. I very much love this restaurant - fresh, colourful and high quality make for a delicious meal.
The food here is very fresh, high quality and super delish. The California, tuna or salmon poke bowls are amazing, my favorite go to take out lunch or dinner!

Toto sushi is simply a delight. The quality is incredible and the staff is super friendly. They even have some of the best recyclable dine-out packaging Ive seen from any restaurant. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

Ridiculously underrated Sushi restaurant here in Tsawwassen. Easily the best sushi in the mid-tier price range that outcompetes more expensive places in the area for quality. Run by a small family that staffs the place, so you re supporting a local business coming here. Recommend the special roles like the Monster Bite and the cheap Salmon Avocado roll.

two adults and 2 small kids, 30 min to get our order, spend about $55 and came out still hungry, nothing spacial about this place. not sure why 4.7 star! 6-7 small spicy sashimi for $12.95!
Better than I anticipated! This place is unassuming and the sushi is excellent. If you re into all you can eat, lots of rice and sauce, and cheap combos this isn t the place. If you care about authenticity and great ingredients this is the place! Delicately made, quality ingredients, delicious sushi. (Reduced sodium sauce and only wild salmon)

Would give 0 if I could for the service alone. Using old stinky and bitter oil to fry tempura. Ordered for takeout and they didn t even bother telling me my order was ready while I sat waiting. Awful.

Toto I Love you! We have been eating here since it opened and the food is always good. The service is top notch, and never rude, as one review stated. Last week we went and the food was 10 out of 10! The spicy chicken karage was amazing as usual; perfect amount of spice, crispy & crunchy with such a flavour bomb from the sauce (we get it on the side). The Aburi Oshi is one of the best things I have ever ate!! We loved the super fresh sockeye & toro nigiri. We had the Mr Big Roll (our first time) and it was AMAZING!! The chef is meticulous with presentation, but what always brings us back are the flavours. Well done Toto Family! Thank you!

My first impression of this place is that the food was really good! I m so glad to have a good sushi restaurant in Tsawassen again and they did a really good job updating the space.

The best sushi ever!!! I lived in Japan for three years and finally found the high quality and tasty place with good price! My daughter loves salmon nigiri, I love sushi and sashimi combo set and my husband loves fresh sashimi. They are so kind and welcome atmosphere! Must try!!! Two thumbs up!

ordered 4 times, 3 times had a bone in the tuna. Tastes great if you ignore the choking hazard.
Slightly overpriced for the quantity of food you get but the quality was quite good. I got all vegetarian items and all were simple but done right.

My favourite sushi place in a small town Tsawwassen. I highly recommend the Toto Tower. Its so mouthwatering especially with their homemade special sauce. I can tell that its actually Ponzu sauce, but a more refined and excelled sauce. Service is excellent too with their friendly staff.
