Le Bistrot du Pollet in Dieppe

We had the pleasure of discovering this restaurant nestled in the historic Pollet district of Dieppe. Seduced by the welcoming atmosphere and the marine decor, we naturally turned to the fish dishes. As a starter, the marinated monkfish livers, then the piperade fish and its puree delighted us with both their freshness and their flavors. To end on a sweet note, a delicious rum baba, with a delicate touch: the bottle of rum left available for a personalized dosage! A very good address in Dieppe, where a warm setting, excellent marine cuisine and impeccable service combine. I highly recommend, of course remembering to book!

Its been a long time since we came to eat at Bistrot du Pollet. Once again this time we were delighted by the quality of the dishes offered. We heard the boss respond to a customer: it s the products that are good, it s not my cooking. I thought that, certainly the products are of impeccable freshness, but you still have to have a certain talent to prepare them and another talent to provide such a service. A big thank you, therefore, to the entire Bistrot team for having fed us in such a beautiful way.

La dame qui faisait le service était très rapide alors qu elle était toute seule, les St-Jacques étaient divines et même les petites pommes de terre en accompagnement étaient parfaitement cuisinées. Les tartines de Neufchâtel: miam! C est une très bonne adresse.

Des plats délicieux avec dexcellents produits, une ambiance chaleureuse dans un joli décor, un service rapide (peut-être un peu trop, on apprécierait de prendre son temps entre chaque plat). Le foie de lotte mariné en entrée était délicieux. Un peu cher néanmoins. Bien situé. Il faut penser à réserver, plusieurs jours à lavance pour le samedi.

Value for money of the worst I have encountered in the region. 35 for a menu, without drinks, with a small salad, four pieces of fried breaded fish and for dessert three pieces of bread with gratinated cheese. Really horrible

The food and service were excellent. My husband and I both had the Duck which was cooked to perfection. We ordered the Soufflé for dessert and we were not disappointed. It was delicious. We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant for its service, atmosphere and I would say excellent value for money. We would have loved to have gone back but it was closed. We would easily eat there every night.

Ugh... Presented as a Michelin address, we expected better: the dishes presented to us were nothing extraordinary in content and presentation. When we arrived, the waitress made us believe that the reservation had been taken for 7:30 p.m. by her colleague and that she therefore vacated the table, without having tried to call us. Apparently we are not the only customers refused under the pretext of booking errors, which strangely only happens to those with a name of foreign origin

Definitely book. The establishment is not huge, the places are expensive but it is worth it. Once installed, we are well taken care of.

Certainly this is not a restaurant for Parisian bobos. No card with extended titles... here Saint Jacques its Saint Jacques Saint Pierre were giving you Saint Jacques... But in what way! The plates are garnished, the cooking is magnificent and the sauces are delicious. I loved the smelt with such a light tartar sauce and the sauce was tasty and fatty enough to enhance this delicate fish. For dessert, the babas soufflés and profiteroles will give you energy for a short stroll along the port. Beautiful wine list and service to match the menu: raw and efficient. Compact little bistro in Dieppe in which we had a lovely meal and a delightfully french expereience. Need to book due to size and popularity but we did this simply on Facebook. Good menu options and real quality food. The waitress is in charge and adds to the occassion. With our combination of language she communicated with patience, great service and humour. She is the only front of house and works intensely, but well and adds so much to the experience. We even had some pleasent interaction with some french fellow diners. It was a perfect french bistro experience, thank you.

A very good restaurant which, as advertised in the guides, resolutely has a bistro atmosphere, conducive to a good time. The restaurant is located in an area inhabited by fishermen since the Middle Ages. Small houses and alleys which give an idea of the Dieppe of yesteryear, much poorer than today. For my part, I chose the poached egg with herring caviar. The poached egg arrives on the table with a very successful presentation under a cover. Placed on a bed of slices of smoked salmon, the egg and its caviar form a beautiful combination of colors and flavors in a register that combines fresh, warm and hot in the heart of the egg. A simple entry in appearance but which must be succeeded and which is out of the ordinary. Next, I enjoyed the John Dory with lemon thyme, largely browned in butter. In the photo, - I apologize - I had started to cut it!... Perfect cooking, with just the right amount of seasoning, so that the taste of this fine fish is respected. A delight The price of the wines remains reasonable. Little farmer Bray didnt convince me. I should have chosen the same cheese but on a hot toast (the resaturant offers two ways to taste it). Pleasant service and a good atmosphere. I recommend the address, which is also present in numerous guides. It is prudent to make a reservation as the room is not very large. Whilst the menu is limited with only 4 options for starter and main course (both mostly fish / shellfish) and 5 for dessert, the quality of the food served is really exceptional. The service is attentive and polite without being invasive and the atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming, though a little quiet. The wine list could be longer and more varied.

Icy weather with a nice sustained rain just before pushing the door of the Bistrot du Pollet and there, warm welcome, smells which whet the appetite for a grandiose discovery meal from aperitif to dessert. Fine and very nicely seasoned cuisine that delighted our taste buds.

We really enjoyed the cuisine, the staff were very pleasant and available. Only small downside: the room is a little small but that also makes the restaurant more pleasant in terms of noise.

Obviously it is better for you to change my reservation, to replace it for 2 people! No hard feelings.

The same thing as the previous notice: reservation on August 6 at 1:30 p.m., we called to advance our arrival if possible to 1:15 p.m., the reservation was supposedly not taken. A dismal telephone reception with it s not our fault . This seaside resort café therefore seems habitual and has no respect for its customers.

I love monkfish liver but the marinade was so strong in vinegar that it took everything away: the taste of the liver, the bread and the wine...its a shame, I should have complained but the waitress was very busy and never asked our opinion. A hearty brill, cooked properly with a pleasant although rare shellfish butter, to peel yourself (so you eat it cold), a few vegetables which serve as decoration. A gourmet dessert thats a little excessive but good. What I didnt like: being from Dieppe I am used to eating fresh fish and cooked properly, I go to a good restaurant for the most that is expected but I only found everyday cuisine, good but unfancy and expensive. Oh yes, apparently the online reservation doesnt work but, even if the waitress knows about it, no one takes care of it.

UNFORGETTABLE evening! It started with the owner who asked that the little girl (3 years old) at the next table take off her shoes because she could have dirty her seat. After a good 25 min of waiting to be served, a customer (a little elderly) asked them if it was possible to gag the little girl (Véridique), who was not screaming, which made the owner laugh a lot. ! The mother burst into tears, the boss served her and... Left! I admit I thought it was for the hidden camera, but apparently not... The dishes are already not crazy, but given the scene we witnessed I dont recommend going there if you are under 65 or if you are with children.

The room is small, but we went there on a weekday lunchtime, at 1 p.m., we were the only table. The plates are neat and the dishes delicious. Everything is homemade. The lady serving was charming. I ordered a lemon sole for 25, with good homemade mashed potatoes, I was not disappointed! Good value for money.
