Cheery Greek destination focusing on grilled specialties & homestyle appetizers.
The food was incredibly disappointing. Compared to other Greek restaurants I've visited, this one is likely the worst. The chicken was fine, but the rice was overcooked, and the potatoes were soggy (how do you even mess that up?). The presentation was lacking, as seen in my photo. There was no tzatziki on the side, and no feta in the salad—everything had to be added separately. Given the price, I would definitely recommend going somewhere else.
It was ok. Nothing special. Was the first Greek restaurant I've ever been to where my chicken stick plate didn't come with tzatziki and the salad didn't come with feta cheese. I had to order a $10 side of tzatziki for my wife and I. Would I return, probably not with all the other Greek restaurant choices in the area.
My first time at a Panama location. Great service, food was truly excellent. My only dislike was the house red wine. It was too warm and did not taste great.
The restaurant has great Greek food. The portions are absolutely massive. Also, everything is family style, which is great. I recommend the chicken, fried calamari, and grilled vegetables (add the mushrooms you want be disappointed). Go to this restaurant expecting to be incredibly full leaving. Would come back again.
Ambiance is great, perfect for a get together with friends or a night out with the family. Staff was phenomenal, among some of the best I've had. They were warm, welcoming and gave us solid recommendations for food while maintaining a very friendly vibe. Food was very good. The chicken pita and potato were delicious. The rice was a bit dry and the side salad definitely needs to be amped up a bit, but they didn't take away from the dish. My only regrets were not trying the Panama pita and not going on a Friday/Saturday when the roasted lamb was available haha.
Authentic Greek rotisserie.Should definitely try the Grilled Platter, shrimp squid and octopus are the best in West Island. The fried calamari is unique in preparation , freshness and workmanship.
Veryngood basic greek food. Dishes don't come with tzaziki sauce and I don't know if that's normal or not. Had to ask extra for it. The calamari is great. The service was excellent, 1 waiter was able to attend a table of about 15 people. Very competent and nice. Portions ate great, meat was good, i'd say the rice was a bit dry. Potato is very simple but good.
Get the chicken specialty! So juicy! I can't believe it took me so long to go. Tried it for the first time and boy, do I want to go back! The chicken specialty is amazing, the fried zucchini and eggplant with tzatziki is soo good. Steak was cooked perfectly. Can't wait to go again! Staff were friendly and always there when I need them even though the place was packed!
Great food
Simply delicious! The service was fast and courteous. The dishes were generous. We will definitely come back!
Amazing. Lots of flavor, Always good!! Placed a take out for 11 people and had enough food . Veggies, rice, potatoes, yummy yummy
Atmosphere... This is a neighborhood, family friendly resto. Not for formal business discussion. Service... Our waiter (Lazarus) was excellent and very friendly which made the whole dining experience so much more enjoyable Food... Really average, nothing more Wine.... Extremely limited choice and low quality wines. The wine list is mainly of party wines.
Service was very good, the girl made sure that my table was well taken care of and got everything we needed. The food was very good too, I especially recommend the meat platter when with a lot of company and the atmosphere was very pleasant, with the music and the TVs.
This is an amazing Restaurant, the food, service and ambiance is A 1. Highly recommended.
One of the best restaurants for Greek food in the West Island! Super friendly and helpful staff.
The food was good, but the calamari needed more crust. The service is excellent as well as the atmosphere. Very clean.
Delicious and abundant food. The treatment is friendly and very helpful. I went with a large group of 6 adults and 6 children, everything was impeccable!
Great food, friendly & efficient staff. Even tho we were a large group they didn t miss a beat. Thanks @panama for a great dinner.
Got 4 plates of take out yesterday. The food was horrible!!!All plates had meat that was so dry and burnt! The calamari plate didn t look edible it was all burnt! The food quality has gone down!
Friendly service; average food but ridiculously high-prices! I wont be going back. $250 for 2 is just too much there.
Panama is like going home. Amazing food, excellent service always. John, Louie, Costa you are all amazing beautiful humans. Thank you for always making us feel special
Great food and the servers are great, it has a great greek vibe but nothing spectacular. The food was remarkable though.
Delicious Greek restaurant. Amazing service and tasty food. We ordered the mix eggplant and zucchini fried and the whole chicken Food : 5/5 | Service
Highly recommend! Great selection of traditional Greek food!! Food
A bit overpriced pood
I ate here many times, and the food is consistently very good. The staff is very friendly.
Great restaurant. Good food, ambience and service. Medium pricing.
Terrible service, even worse food. My drinks were watered down and when I mentioned it to the server, he argued it was fine until he reluctantly made me a better drink. My Food was burnt As well and was deliberately flipped to be hidden. Wouldn t recommend this restaurant if you want a good experience. 2/10.
Very nice staff, and good family environment. Food is nicely grilled.
Excellent roasted lamb
Bad food, terrible service long waiting.... Will never go again! Food
Whatever the cost, we managed to come to the Panama restaurant by braving the snowstorm and the wind! What a nice surprise! A room almost just for us! The 4 of us enjoyed a very good meal! I compliment the kitchen team for their preparation of seafood that is just cooked/grilled just right! Same compliment for the cooking and seasoning of meats (pork and beef steaks) from my partner and my grown children! They, greedy, also had a starter of fried squid which quickly disappeared with their aperitif drink! As they say, an empty plate is proof :-)! As for the service received by Mr Peter, it was excellent. He even took the time to take a photo of us to mark my special day! And I thank the kindness of the boss who offered me my baklava dessert. In summary, we had a pleasant evening and we will not fail to put this restaurant/rotisserie in our list of favorite outing-restaurants. Dietary restrictions: Taken note that one person was on a gluten-free diet and a Fodmap diet.
The Decor and staff are friendly and welcoming,Calamari and roasted potatoes are excellent, the Lamb def needs a bit more seasoning for my particular taste but all in all 3 out of 5 Stars!
The food at Panama was ok. Nothing to write home about. But the service was good. We were a big group and on the mezzanine, so it was a tough job for the waiter but he was a champ! As for the food, spankopita was not at the level you d find at a Greek restaurant, salad, fried veggies and tzatziki were great! The seafood platter was very good but the grilled chicken was butchered in a really odd way. You had no idea what piece you were getting so you couldn t debone easily and it was all over cooked! Lamb chops were also over cooked. Calamari was wonderful!
The food is really good even for take out! The manager is really nice.
To this day, my favorite Greek restaurant! Food is very authentic and super tasty. Already cant wait to go back! Their spanakopita is the best I ever had so far. An absolute must try!
Welcome nicely. Take good care of customers
I went with my friends, beautiful place, the food was a little burnt, too many people, bad experience, sorry, the sangria was ice cream, the server was kind enough
Service was great and the food was absolutely delicious.
Great Hosts, Great Food Busy Saturday evening, lost a lifelong friend, so spent an amazing evening @ Panama Delicious food all around friendly cordial service Despite the fact that they were visibly super busy! It takes demeanour and professionalism to share a genuine smile all the while juggling tasks. This restaurant have their act together!! Kudos Panama !!
Beautiful restaurant with welcoming and smiling service. The dishes are good, well marinated and the potatoes are superb! Only the chicken and pork skewers are very thin (if I compare with that of Old Duluth which is not the same kind) very good taste but I prefer the skewers to be more generous. My glass of cocktail arrives late, just before the plates arrive. Serving time took a while (compared to Souvlaki Bar/Verdun) No, Im not disappointed because it was good, its just my point of view for improvement.
Not a great first experience at this place. They weren t very busy and yet it took them forever to come take our order. We ordered the pikilia appetizer only to have it delivered to the table without any bread. The waitress kept coming by saying that she had asked for the bread but we were staring at the pikilia for at least 10 minutes before she finally delivered and complained to us to that she had to get it herself - seriously. The food itself was just ok, with the one standout being the excellent potatoes. My chicken brochette was completely bland. I think for the money that Marathon is the much better choice.
Expensive for the quality offered
Splendid service! Wonderful food quality with generous portions. Very flavourful, homemade taste. It is a bustling restaurant that is well organized. Amidst the full house we got our orders in a timely fashion and the staff was very attentive and courteous. ground floor, with a mezzanine for busier nights. Loads of parking. Family friendly. All ground floor(wheel chair, accessibility) Vegetarian options: Greek salad is on top of my list Dietary restrictions: Talk to the wait staff. They were so kind with their time and attention, I have no trouble believing they can accommodate. Parking: Right in front, plenty of options. Kid-friendliness: They have a small kid menu but it is mostly family style if needed. Staff is friendly and attentive to kids. Wheelchair accessibility: Wide doors, ground floor, tables and service is all ground floor, as well as bathrooms.
Nice place with authentic Greek atmosphere. Generous portions, however the salad and rice are rather unappetizing (very disappointing).
Good portion and simple, tasteful, well-prepared food. Good friendly service.
I had the octopus. Both potatoes and octopus were a bit soggy.
Can never go wrong here
Cheap prices. The vegetarian plate mainly consisted of pepperoni and eggplant. A bit bland.
Was there for my nephew s baptism. The food was amazing and the wait staff was excellent. They all have a great attitude and it shows in their service! We were 60 happy people! Thank you to all the staff! Highly recommend this place! I ll be back for sure
All around Excellent!!
Nice restaurant, great service, food was average.
Awesome food & service 1st time there Will definitely be back Food : 5/5 |
Service is amazing considering theres a lot of people but the food is just okay. Having eaten at other Greek Restaurant, the flavors at Panama are there but not enough. But the price are really reasonable for what you get so I would say I can still recommend to go there.
It was our daughters birthday and she wanted to try this restaurant. She said its Greek restaurant. So, we were hoping for nice Greek salad, Tzatziki sauce, bread etc. But, nothing like that was being served. First of all the plate looks full because they spread few leaves of chopped salad covering your half of the plate. Second, they spread some rice and then there is chicken or shrimps what ever you ordered. Our Salad had only one olive and one pickle pepper. That is not Greek at all. In my sons plate there was only one olive. We ordered Calamari and we were waiting for the fish sauce or anything else as sauce and the waiter said, it comes like this. With $ 27.00 plate of Calamari nothing else. Then we had to ask for the sauce. Which took more than 7 minutes to get and by the time Calamari was cold. The Chicken was very bland. I had ordered Shrimps. It was just boiled 5 shrimps for almost $ 32.00 Not worth going. My son had pork stick which was smelly. He did not like it even. No Bread or Tzatziki or pickles were served. Not recommended to anyone to go there. For the price not worth going. Not enough portion even. There is nothing as Greek. I wonder why is it called Greek Restaurent? Its better to go to any other place and would enjoy more for less money. Parking: Good parking
Loved the food and atmosphere
Delicious! Great service.
I got the lamb plate. The lamb was meh. It came with some Uncle Ben s rice, a soaked in dressing salad (the lettuce was cut in small price but you could still see that leaves weren t the freshest) and with a potato. Everything tasted ok at best. For a 37$ plate, you have to pay extra to get tzatziki sauce, at a Greek restaurent! Disappointing and absurd. Leaving 2 stars instead of 1 because the waiter took the time to explain their complicated menu First and last time going there.
Ordered the lamb chops, they were 2mm thick, VERY disappointing
It s not my first time but the last 2 times we went the salmon was not fresh smelled fishy and was over cooked. Rice and potatoes were lukewarm even thought they just brought the plate the green salad that comes with it is just bitter green no seasoning I was a regular at their Laval location and the food there never disappoints, too bad they closed
Excellent food & service as usual
Excellent service, wonderfully prepared food, very delicious!! Perfect atmosphere, extremely clean and proper!!!
Excellent food .... Excellent service.. Restaurant was at full capacity on a Saturday night thank you for such a good service and servers with a good attitude.
I Called to cancel a reservation at about 11;45 am and dinner was to be at 6:30pm. The Person on the phone said thanks for calling to cancel last minute. If the owners require a minimum delay to cancel a reservation (whether it be 2 people, 5 people or 15 people OR whether it is for a Monday, Friday or Saturday night) they should specify their requirements on the phone when taking the reservation or call a day before to confirm. I did not appreciate the feeling I got. It was as if to try yo make me feel guilty. Not cool. Not professional. It Did not leave me with a good feeling at the end of the call. Anyway I hope the food is better than the attitude !
We love Panama! Last night they prepared a couple dozen lamb chips, greek sausages and calamari - everything was perfect and my guests love it. They will always remain my West Island choice for lamb chops and calamari! Very kind owners and staff as well.
I can say that souvlaki bar is the best among Greek cuisines. The service and atmosphere at Panama were perfect. But the meal was full of rice, potatoes and bread. Not enough meat. Go to Souvlaki bar if you want to be happy.
Excellent food, generous portion great service.
The atmosphere was great and the food delicious and reasonably priced. Had a great time.
The food was very good. I had the grilled octopus and it was very tender. My wife had the chicken breat filet and she loved it. The waiter was very courteous and attentive to all our needs. Great overall experience. Thank you.
My favorites...the fish is a real delight and the eggplant dish too.....
great place for get together
Greek chicken is great! Simple, clean, delicious, always great service with a smile.
Service was excellent but boy has the food changed. The salad had no taste, it was watered down, I guess they ran out of good olive oil. The chicken wasnt the same at all, no taste. The chips were so soggy seemed as they were left in the oil, or from the day before, usually they are delicious & crispy. I wonder if they changed their chef. Weve been going there for years but unfortunately it wont be our go to anymore.
Delicious Greek food!
Always delicious and the service is great. Highly recommend. Their chicken souvlaki is amazing and the greek salad is delicious and always fresh.
Nice staff, but the food is a little overpriced, despite giving restaurants a break due to inflation. Maybe if the place was located downtown Montreal and rent is high but 38$ for lamb chops plate in DDO is a little too much.
Great food, great service portions seem to be back where they use to be !
Excellent service, so friendly and polite. The calamari was perfectly fried, crispy outside and juicy inside.
We ordered the pikilia for two as take out.. it was a mixed bag.. portion was generous.. but the food , although made from scratch, I believe, was hit and miss.. I would not order again based on pikilia.
Excellent food and service! Kind staff! Made my granddaughters baptism a success!
We just got back from Panama restaurant and would just love to thank the staff. The service was amazing; not rushed like in some places. They were so friendly and generous. The food was excellent. The chicken was our favorite; so tender and flavorful. Thank you so much!
Very good
Ive been here several times over the last 7 years but would now have to cousel AGAINST dining here. Last experience in October was a bit surprising. Ordered 2 stick pork souvlaki plate. The size of the serving was what other restaurants would call a kids meal, the sticks were shorter than in the past and the diameter of the meat on the sticks is much smaller than before, about an inch. The side effect of reducing the size of the meat is that the smaller bite size pieces are more wellI done and dry-ish. I was looking for the tzadziki, to remedy a bit of the dryness, and when I asked they said it was 3$ extra. What Greek restaurant serves souvlaki without tzadziki? Rest of the plate showed signs of penny pinching as well. The management at this restaurant made the incorrect decision to cut food out of the clients plate to try and ballance costs, result: you are unhappy about the food AND the bill. If Im gonna go out to eat these days I understand its gonna be more expensive... If I wanted to save $ I would cook at home.
The chicken was small and bony. Greek salad and the lemon potato were nice. The service was pretty bad - water was not refilled once during the entire dinner. Sat around for 45 minutes to wait for the bill, and had to ask two different people to get it. Food
Everything was very good, from the food to the service!
Serves very good and tasty Greek fare. I tried both their chicken and lamb and came away very satisfied. Their Greek salad, tarama and Horta were also excellent. Service has always been top notch. Definitely worth the trip.
Still the Best Quality Greek restaurant in the West Island!! A1 Service + Quality Products = Winner Choice
Worst customer service I ve seen in a long while. Ordered food for new year s eve for a pick-up at 19h. Waited outside until past 19h30. I had to phone them and ask them how much longer only to be told that it should take another half an hour. I leave and come back 1/2 hour later and had to wait more. They took plenty of orders and had not enough staff. They were completely lost and mixed up with the orders. They kept lying about the waiting time, giving the orders for customers they knew even if their pick-up time was after mine. When I wanted to leave and just forget the order, they kept saying « ready in 10 minutes » Got my food past 21h !!! Total lack of respect for customer s time. Wort part... the food was cold, and I had very small portions. They can be sure I am telling everyone I know not to go there.
Delicious great quality!
Second time ordering take out from here and disappointed again. Thought the first time was an off night for them so I thought I would give a second try. Restaurant is not living up to the expectations it used to have. Souvlakia did not taste fresh and was dry and over cooked. Won t be ordering a third time from here.
it use to be very good, unfortunately the quality has gone down and prices up.
Celebrating daughter s grad dinner with Panama take out feast !! Amazing food , cooked to perfection. Seafood platter tender and delicious!! Looking forward to next dinner on terrasse! Thanks Panama team !
Great service!! Food was very good.
very good service
Terrible service. We were there a couple of weeks ago on an evening where there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. They seated us all the way in the back and completely forgot about us. It took forever for someone to come and take our order. We ordered drinks first and never received them but were charged. They were removed from the bill once the waiter finally realized he never brought us our drinks. The food was very bland and unimpressive as well and the staff was very unfriendly. Won t be returning to this restaurant again.
Absolutely delicious. I especially love their lamb.
Delicious food, great staff
Food is good. Very very disappointed that they increased the price of their half chicken from 15.95 to 18.95 and whole chicken from 21.95 to 26.95 as well as a price increase on all their food. Its becoming way way too expensive. Especially for the fried eggplant and zucchini. Its a shame its no longer affordable for a family of 4
Delicious Greek food & friendly customer service
The food was delicious! We ordered take out, I dont know if that makes a difference, but quantity was pretty slim, for the price I expected a bit more meat on the sticks.
They didnt check the Vaxicode. Way too expensive for what you get and the taste of the food is just ok. Plaine romaine salad in the plate option, pita very sad looking (no much inside).
Friendly service and reception, waiter got us a high chair but forgot to bring us utensils for the kid, the toasts were somewhat burnt, the fried calamari and the roasted potato were good but the precooked/instant style rice was aldente if not slightly undercooked and the green salad was prepared ahead of time and have been sitting in dressing, was expecting more for $27. The wife got a souvlaki plate and theres an extra for the pita, for $20, there was very little meat in there, not worth it for the money.
This was my first dining experience in the restaurant since beginning of the pandemic, and I am glad it was here. Antiseptic hand wash is waiting for you at the door, staff checks your vaccination status and ID, and make sure your feel safe and well taken care of. And then the food! We had group dinner that started with series of antipasti like Greek salad, fried zucchini, sausage, calamari and the amazing garlicky tzaziki goes with everything. Then followed generous portions of grilled lamb and chicken, both well done. And the feast would not be complete without dessert, delicious airy tiny donuts dusted with sesame seeds and covered in honey. Service was impeccable and friendly, so overall great dining experience!
Went for a family event, well organized by the management and seating was according to COVID restrictions. Everyone loved the food and we had excellent service from our waitress Sophia!
It is a matter of choice not my cup of tea expensive meal roasted potatoes not roasted but soaking in oil. Souvlaki pita not great....good service
Wonderful service!
Update: unfortunately our most recent experience was bad. The meats were tough and dry, souvlaki meat had wood splinters in them from the sticks, and the salad tasted old from a couple of days ago. My original review was from two years ago, so their quality has definitely changed. Original review: Great Greek food in the West island. A must go to place and dont forget to order some loukoumades for dessert. They are amazing!
Nice place, the food and the service was good,
We went there Jan 24th 2020. I have never tasted worse food. The so called salad was shredded lettuce with oil and vinegar, the greasy rice was tasteless, and the potatoes tasted like they had sat in water all day, plus the shrimp looked like they dipped it in oil and put it on the grill. No spices or flavour. The whole meal was a waste of money. We ordered a cheese cake that looked like it came out of the frozen food section of a grocery store. My girlfriend had calamari, which was really tasteless. She also ordered loukoumades for dessert, which was hard and looked like it was heated in a microwave. My advice, save your money and go somewhere else.
Amazing traditional Greek food. Restaurant is really clean and service is great!
We ordered at panama to celebrate a special family occasion for the night. Unfortunately the order that was prepared was sub par. HOWEVER, Louis and John promptly corrected the order and understood the importance of the standard of service that Panama seeks to provide to their customers. For that, we would give a 5 star rating to a restaurant that truly seeks to serve their customers right.
I went there as a part of a team building. We were a big group. We had a reservation so no problem with seating. We picked the family style servings. It is simply a flat fee and they keep serving food. So you dont pick anything from the menu. Lots of appetizers and big quantities. Main meals were mainly lamb chops and chicken. Appetizers included Greek salads, bbq. Vegetables, calamari and other stuff. Rice and roasted potatoes were served as well. I recommend this place. Service was good, professional and friendly.
Excellent food pleasant service.
The roasted lamb and the potatoes were amazing
Great food, great service.
This is a great place to have some good Greek food. Its not like they serve all traditional foods, very few places will because of prep time. But they make a serious effort to stay away from what you get in cheap chains. They have wonderful staff that will make you feel at home and you can order tons of plates to share at your table as it should be for a real Greek experience.
Great food and service. Went with my family and felt safe, super clean facility - greatly recommend
The octopus dish was cooked to perfection
Totally overrated place. Service was slow and unfriendly; food was expensive and disappointing. Cleanliness of the place not amazing either. The Vegetarian pita consists of 2 cucumber slices, half a tomato slice and some tzatziki....14$!!!!!!!!! I asked for a tomato and the waitress wanted to charge 8$ for it. Unreal.....waste of money and time.
A more authentic Greek restaurant as compared to the rest. The spanakopita, potatoes & food in general taste homemade. Very friendly & personal service. Greek music & ambiance complete the experience.
Very good if u like chicken
Absolutely the best Greek food!
Great service and food was great. Will come back. Its not loud like other places.
Was a quiet night, service was great, food was ok nothing to have about. All and all had a good experience. A bit pricey for the dishes.
Very homey and tasty Greek food, everything is always so good. Friendly staff and nice ambiance as well.
Great place
Service was great, the waiter was very friendly and helpful in helping us choose what we should get for our table of 5. The food was even better! We got a could of mixed plates and so everyone got a chance to try a bit of everything. The octopus was fantastic.
Excellent dishes. There is something for everyone.
Great greek food service and one really good greek beer
The sea bass was amazing !!!
I live the chicken here. Its is always perfectly cooked, super moist and delicious. Even the white meat was super enjoyable.
Fantastic service and food. Fish was simple, but tasty and perfectly cooked.
Good for and good service
A west island classic, nice restaurant for a family meal, and the food is authentic & delicious
good food and very charming waitress
Rosted lamb the most disgusting ever I dont recommend it
Went there for lunch, first thing I ask is the difference between de 14$ chicken and the 19$ one. They tell me its half a chicken or a full chicken? ( i asked if its a chicken breast or thigh, couldnt get an answer ) so i decided to order the 14$ one. Then she asked me if id like rice, potato or salad, i choose the grecque salad. 40 minutes later, i received my chicken plate. I received 3 chicken wing and 1 small chicken piece, total id say maximum 2oz of actual meat. The salad was 80% tomatoes, and the taste was really mild. When I finish and told them about the super small amount of chicken I had, they pretty much did nothing. Last thing last, the chicken was 14$ and the salad ( a small one ) was 16$, if they had told me that taking a salad would make my meal a 40$ one, I would have choosen another restorant Would not recommand and will certainly not return there
Both times we ve gone we were asked to wait at the bar for a table. The first time bar service was just OK, we were served but the bartender clearly didn t like his job. Last night, bar service was non-existent. Bartender looked at us multiple times, and we understood he was making drinks for tables first. But after 15 minutes of literally being ignored without so much as a I ll be right with you , we walked out.
Very good Greek food, affordable prices and very quick service.
Excellent meal, very friendly atmosphere
Excellent Greek food at reasonable prices.
The best of the Greek restaurants Ive tried in DDO/Pierrefonds
Very good service and wonderful food. Lentil soup Wednesday
Phenomenal authentic Greek. Always fresh and always tasty.
Extremely disappointing restaurant. The food was horrible (greasy salad, rice and potatoes with an aftertaste...in short, the quality is non-existent). I really dont recommend.
Small plates and expensive!
Very good
Start with the zucchini and egg plant appetizer...then you must try their chicken land and mouth watering ctopus.
Great place and service
This Greek restaurant will never let you down. Every time we go, it has consistently been very very good. We asked for the chicken, the roasted potatoes, and a Greek salad. You put everything in the centre of the table, and enjoy!. I also recommend the fried cheese (something like saginaki) The octopus is WOW! The fried zucchini & eggplant are wonderful. Good service. If you want dessert, I suggest you ask for these little fried dough balls covered in honey and cinnamon. Simple and delicious.
Friendly service. Food is average
For a Wednesday...it was really busy but the food and the service was great. We will be going back for sure.
Their meals taste like heaven!
Not worth the money , salad consisted of chopped lettuce and vinegar and oil ?
