Homey Caribbean choice plating rotis, rice & jerked meats in a simple, beachy space.
i waited 35 minutes after 11:30am, no one opened the doors. the food is alright, just alright. i had visited this restaurant twice before and wanted to give them a chance; the food was , but oddly cold and tasted old.. in addition, there seems to be no interest to be consistent with opening hours. this to me usually means no interest in business/lazy staff. i'll be avoiding this place from now on.
I have had rotis many times in the past. And I am sorry to say that this roti was not good. I couldn't even finish it. It has this sweet/ maple barbecue/ weird taste. The curry is all wrong. I am not going there again. If you have never had a roti, this place might be good for you.
Giving this place an average rating as it had its ups and downs. Mind you I ordered just before closing so perhaps that had something to make of it. I got the chicken roti which was good but felt a bit dry inside. Their hot sauce added some necessary juice but be warned that stuff is hot! I also got the jerk chicken plate and the chicken was pretty delicious but rice had a strange taste to it. Not what I was used to from other carribean places like Carribean Curry House. The fried fish cakes were also pretty solid but felt heavy on oil. Overall pretty decent but I’ve had some better experiences. I’ll give this place another shot soon and update the review.
Authentic food at a reasonable price! Jerk chicken is very good! Not too spicy but order it with their hot sauce if you like the heat. Not sure what it’s made from but it definitely has great flavour and lots of kick 🔥 give them a try, you won’t be disappointed!
Good size portions and food is delicious. Not expensive. Lost a star for not being able to serve us some items on the menu.
Tried the oxtail, curry chicken with rice and soup. Oxtail with rice was super. Curry chicken was good as well, though found the turmeric taste a little overpowering. Soup was decent. Plantain was tasty. Overall good Carribean food.
Amazing Jamaican food. Don’t know what the others are talking about the service was great, friendly, and helpful with the menu. Spicy delicious food made with love and care by legit Jamaicans. This is a must stop place for spicy food lovers. Enjoy!!
My husband and I were craving Caribbean food and we finally found the perfect place! Plus, it's in the West Island which is close to us. Picture is of Roti that we ordered for takeout. We shared two so this plate shows half Goat (with small bones) and half chicken. It was delicious. We also ordered the oxtail which literally melts in your mouth. Divine is how I would describe the taste :) The fried plantains were yummy and the Jerk chicken tasty. Pretty sure it was the owners who greeted and served us. They were friendly and helpful! Definitely recommend to anyone who is searching for a flavorful meal.
When I want a taste of Home , I place an order. Good food, well prepared Have never been disappointed Thanks Food : 5/5
Real authentic Jamaican food, thank you very much.
Are you guys still open? Everytime I call no one answers and everytime I come by the doors are locked and lights are off, even when it says you are open?
Food was really Bad Tasteless chicken and rice was old will never recommend any one.
If I could rate 0 I would. Chose to have the roti today. The price is listed at 11$. The women wanted to charge 14$. The roti was cold in the middle. The roti was watery and we were unable to eat it. Flavours were not there. All around horrible. The location also needs a facelift! Seems like we got a roti soup.
My jamaican patties seemed like they were the frozen ones you can buy at the grocery store..
Wow.! The food was so good and the best service I have ever had my family and myself had I good time and we loved the food. We are coming back again
Very good meal, exceptional service and atmosphere with music at just the right volume.
Very good food and excellent service
They are the great, everything tastes great. If you live in the west Island go them.
my first time to this restaurant! first the welcoming was cold the guy didnt even get up from dining from far away and yeld to me did i order ouff. And stayed there, its the lady from kitchen came to give me my food as she put it on the counter and the guy didnt even get up to bring it to me she came out again from the kitchen to the covid window but he took the time to tell her he didnt collect $! (the eyes she made him) Food was very very good has i did eat that dish elsewhere. I order 2 goat roti and 2 beef patties very tasty good, fresh. nothing to say BUT THERE WERE NOT mention with bones on the menu in each roti we found 9 pieces of bones and small dangerous one that of course as you can see the pictures and that leave you with less MEAT. The lady was very nice working hard alone i can see and thanks see gave me a free spicy sauce. BECAREFUL BONES
99% bone 1% meat
They are very cheap with the portion size, even if its a large
Really disappointing their sticky rice not good at all.. not even real sticky rice just dry rice with few beans
My boyfriend picked up a plate of jerk chicken..and unfortunately..THE NEXT DAY I HAD FOOD POISONING..AMBULANCE HAD TO PICK ME UP...my order was made saturday april 2nd 2022...
I didnt know one can cook bad Carribean food...this food is usually so good. But not at this place. The roties are really bad, dry and an overpowering taste of old stale spices. The patty is so dry, it sucked the water off my mounth. I ordered chicken curry and I got goat curry, bones and fat. They dont give any sauces or salads as sides to refresh that dryness of the food. You have to pay 50 cents for a small half empty container of spicy sauce! There is no comparison with the other Weste Island Carribean places... too bad Whatyulove cuisine is closed
From the team of centre du petit moteur thank you to the owner, the food was exceptional !!!
Very big disappointment, the rice was cold with a taste of having been reheated in the microwave. Lots of bones in the lamb meal. Courteous services and affordable prices. First and last time
Two days ago I made an order for a large jerk chicken, its been over 3 years since I havent been back but this used to be an all time favourite of mine. I am so disappointed to say the quality has totally gone down. The chicken was dry, the rice was soggy. It sucks because this place used to be so good, everything especially the portions were amazing.
This was amazing experience I ordered the two meat plate of jerk chicken and goat it was amazing !!!! A must try
Parking: Minimum 20 spots along the storefronts where this restaurant and other businesses are located. Food
Food was unfortunately dry. I was sick all evening...
Excellent authentic flavors! The food was served very hot! Excellent quality and price! I recommend this place to everyone!! The jerk chicken is fabulous! And their goat roti is amazing!
MAKE SURE YOU DONT ORDER YOUR FOOD FROM HERE! I m Jamaican and I m saying this! Please be careful This place is very dirty and disrespectful
Just had the best curried goat and jerk chicken Ive have ever tasted. Finally, a restaurant that serves food that is proper spicy Portion was generous... Thank you!!
Ordered a LARGE oxtail came with 3 pieces!!! There was no taste in the oxtail never ordering here again!
Reliable on their services
Wonderful. The roti was soft and tasty. Jam packed with meat, perfectly cooked.
So I just ordered a Goat Roti with extra hot sauce. The roti was ok but I think it was microwaved. The corners were hard. The goat was bone in. As a result it was mostly bone including some small shards. Eating it was a pain because I didnt want to break any teeth on cutting a bite. The portion was large with lots of potato. The hot sauce was never delivered and I paid extra for it. The Uber driver was friendly and great! I would not order again. There are other choices however not carribean in my neighborhood.
The food was amazing ! Thank you!
Always a nice atmosphere and amazing food!
Washington
Amazing food. Generous portions. Very nice owners.
The taste left something to be desired, pieces of back everywhere! Very disappointed in a $50 meal that Im afraid to eat half of.
There was more bone than chicken. The jerk seasoning was no where near authentic. Never going there again.
Caribbean love
Great food, if you havent been, you have to try!
Old , cold fod. I ordered jerk chicken wings they were old and microwave to reheat. The curry chicken wa cod an watered down. I havent been back since then and will never go back.
Small place, friendly, friendly staff. Food is good.
Drove all the way from LaSalle, to arrive to a completely empty restaurant at 6:30pm. They advised they werent taking in dine in customers, even though we were ready with our vax passports. Beware.
Last visit was a major disappointment, went there for dinner @ 1830 on Wednesday, to dine-in. The staff gave us BS reason why we could not eat in the restaurant. They said, other people had called for dine-in, like me, but were told that they were only doing takeout, this was not what I was told when I called earlier that week. So, we could not sit in the restaurant, because the other people who called were told no dine-in option and it would be problematic to see us sitting and eating, as they were coming to pickup takeout. When pressed they said that they were closing so they could clean.
Great chicken roti, plenty of meat. Also had chicken patties, really good.
Ordered from here a couple times. I ordered the curry goat, the chiken roti and goat roti. The first 2 times i ordered the food was very dry ..i ordered again and specified to add more gravy as the food is always dry..and they sent me the same dry food. The only good food is the fish balls and the plantain.Wont be ordering from here.if you want delicious carribean food check out what you love cuisine on gouin the quality is much better for the same price.
Amazing food amazing service great vibes. Love it love it love it
Chicken roti was dry (breast meat) flavor was good. Staff lacked manners.
Great food, super nice people who run the restaurant.
The owners are friendly, the food was good!!! Cant wait to go back , to try the curry goat.....
The warmth of the owners and the food! And the ambiance
I havent had a chance to to eat the food yet because twice that I went to the restaurant during opening hours the doors were closed .... It says they are open until 9pm today but I called in twice and I didnt get no answer. Based on other comments this is a recurrent problem they have.
Might be the worse customer service I received in a restaurant. Walked in with my wife at 2pm. We were the only customers. We were not greeted nor asked if we were here for a dine in or take out. ((We were there for dine in)). We walked to the counter and glanced at the menu. The lady left to go in the back without saying a word and only showed up about 5 minutes after. We ordered our food: jerk chicken meal for me, chicken curry roti and a side of plantains for my wife. Thats the first time I heard the ladys voice- no plantain. And she disappeared in the kitchen again without me getting a chance to ask for a beef patty. Hasnt asked us if its dine in yet, no drinks offered, no water at the table where we were sitting. Thats when the sketchy noise started- guess what - everything was being microwaved. Meanwhile a lady customer walked in. Food came in take out boxes and the lady completely ignored me as she started chit chatting with the other customer. I asked for hot sauce and she said the dont have. I tried to pay with my master card and she blamed me when the payment didnt go through. Strange when the machine clearly says no connection. She defended her wire connections. Never regretted paying 15% tips before that day. Foodwise- jerk chicken EXTREMELY dry. Came with salad of brown lettuce. Yuck. The plantains- more like fried semi ripe bananas. Chicken curry roti? More like a soggy doughy wrap of potato curry sprinkled with some chicken. All in all, worse $35 meal experience ever. Taste of authentic Carribean food? Shame
9/10 times amazing, on the occassion may be a bit salty. But great food and good meal size! Roti is the bomb!
Tasty meal and polite staff
Picked up 2 plates and the next day we had food poisoning! Stay away!!!
Good food. But they were running out of food.
just bought a chicken Roti and brought it home . There was not one piece of chicken , only potatoes and chickpeas . never again.
Ordered a LARGE OXTAIL , came with 3 pieces of oxtail , im asking myself how much do they put for the small !! The food was alright, nothing special
Ordered from Uber , all was well , Preparation was done , gets picked up,And then gets canceled ,. So 40 mins in , your order gets canceled ... No answer nothing just canceled
I have order a plate of mix meat oxtail & chicken, it was delicious. Very nice portion
Tasty food great prices and great portions what more could you ask for. Enjoyed every bite.
The worst service ever . No smile , we seemed to be bothering them when we arrived . Food was tasteless . They threw our change on the table . Like there is no reason this place should still be open .
hair inside my plate
In my never ending quest to find a delicious roti, my next visit was to this place. Its located at the end of a strip mall on Des Sources and can be easily missed, so watch out for it. Its your typical Caribbean place that offers the usual, and from what I saw massive plates. I got take out of a chicken roti and plantains. The plaintains were decent but Id prefer a bit more crunch to them. As for the roti, it was saucy and a good roti shell, but I barely had any chicken inside of mine. Never the less, it was good. The taste was more earthy than sweet. Id really like to say 3.5, but its not a bad roti, so I gave it 4. Friendly staff and a lot of tables inside for seating. Tons of parking as well. Wheelchair accessible.
The jerk chicken was very tasty , very nice staff it was a lovely experience
Worst Caribbean food Ive ever had, would not recommend this place, food is tasteless, rice is hard, jerk chicken is burnt hard and tasteless. Curry goat doesnt taste remotely close to curry goat.
Im trinidadian so I know roti pretty well and this place does not do roti justice. I came here with a large party and we waited an hour to get our food. My roti was bad all around, meat was flavorless, curry was watered down and the skin was not flavorful. Other people in my party had other items and no one was impressed. One person received a frozen patty, I tasted some extremely dry and tough dumplings, there was a lot of leftover food when we were done. Im not from Montreal so I cant recommend another place I can just say, try somewhere else.
Customer service is 0, I would come here when Janet Spicy would leave to Jamaica, do yourself a favour and drive 3 minutes more to Janet, quality is superior to anything in MTL.
First of all the service was horrible, i had to get up to refill my own cup of water, the food was warmed up in the microwave, nothing fresh about it and expensive for no reason. The place didnt even have half of the menu on the list.Would not suggest to go there. To finish off, he wanted us to pay cash instead of debit even if he had the machine. I took a big plate and was still hungry at the end so we went to the bagel store right next to it.
Anyone who left more then 1 star , is lying . From the service to the tasteless food is was a bad experience . Will not recommend it . I payed 17.10$ for one plaate and i was not happy . Thank god their neighboor is a bagel spot .
So good. The jerk chicken almost killed me (much to the delight of the waiter, who had a bit of a go at me), but it was delicious. Super tender, very flavourful. And the fried plantains are different than I was used to, they are fried but still soft, whereas Im used to them being crunchy, but they are very good.
Chicken roti was good. Big chunks of white meat chicken. Loved the hot pepper sauce.
Really enjoyed the food. Well seasoned and tasty
We visit here at least once or twice each year since we are 6 hours away, but it always worth the trip.good food great staff.
Horrible experience. We were craving caribbean food so I drove down to Sources from Ile Perrot last night and ordered 2 vegetarian roti and rice and peas. Waited a long time and then the owner forgot to give me the rice and peas and hot sauce I had asked for. The rotis were the worst we have ever had!! Who puts cabbage inside a roti?? Not only that but I have had bloating, stomach pain and diarrhea since eating it. Also there was practically no peas in the rice and peas!!! I am still sick today from the roti. What a dissapointment!!!
Great food, you should taste the jerk chicken
This place is a joke the phone lady was so rude. I called to ask questions about if they do uber and she was like uuhhmmm and hanged up lol wtf
The food is authentic and very good !
Delectable lamb curry and saltfish. The usual side of rice with beans really stands out from other Carribean restaurants! Friendly serving staff, too. Marsha is super cool!
Great Caribbean food
Great food and friendly service whether dining in or taking out
Really good and friendly fast service food is really tasty i i will be going the often
You never have anything..No restaurant on skip that I have so much problems with! You are a Shame to Jamaicans! I am of jamaicain descent please all non jamaicains Stay away from this restaurant. I go to jamaica 3 or 4 times a year..this is not a representation of jamaicain cuisine!
Been to Tasty Treats a few times, because the food is good with large portions and the atmosphere and service is also pretty good.
Great brunch on Saturday!
Great food.
Authentic Pleasant Friendly Delicious
Very good, the only thing would be that they gave only like 4 pieces of meat in there large oxtail for 15$ plus taxes. ...
20 minutes in traffic to get here just to find it closed during business hours.
No flavor. The oxtail need seasoning & cook longer. U could literally taste the sugar in the rice & the meat.

Favorite food
Seriously the Best Chicken Rotis !!! thank- you!
If you want to pay more for less this is definitely the spot. Very bad customer service.
The food is too pricey for the amount that they give you and they run out of food very fast
Awesome place it brings me back
I just send someone to your restaurants because Janets was not open. It was the first time they re ordering food from you. And they said the fried chicken was dry and The oxtail was overcooked. I told the couple to call and say but they said they re not going to call they just won t eat there anymore. Well I ate there twice once when you just reopened after your little accident there, it was very good. The second time it wasn t very good so I never came back. You guys need consistency.
Love this place. Excellent roti and thr best hot sauce youll find!
Its a little restaurant, not too fancy, not too bad. Weve been there for lunch and there were only us eating and a couple of guys ordering for take out. Oxtail stew was really good, same was the hot sauce. The service was OK, but I was there to eat something tasty, not to enjoy the service.
Very delicious food
I give it five tum up
Better options for Caribbean food.
A great meal, good ambiance, just like you are back in the Caribbean!
All I could keep saying after every bite was: Yo!! Spicy. Delicious! Amazing!!
Love it. Its like being home
I love this place. Their rotis are probably the best on the island of Montreal, and I have tried several rotis all over town. The jerk chicken plate is also solid, you can taste that it was grilled and not just baked in an oven. It came with a savoury side of rice & peas, fried plantains and a side salad that is better than most run of the mill restaurants. My go-to plate though is the Ox Tail plate, it is so fragrant and well spiced! I cant get enough of it!
Food is very good! Portions are HUGE!!
Best goat and oxtail around. Ask for their pepper sauce. Friendly people, really good food.
Horrible service, unfriendly, slow, I had to go get more water from the tap in the bathroom because the girl who served me wasnt even paying attention. Food wasnt too good either, too spicy when I asked for mild, and the portions are so small. Wont be going back here. 1 star for not taking care of your clients properly.
The best spicy fried chicken Ive had. Wish there were more ordering options just for a large order of that.
Delicious food, fast efficient service, friendly staff and great ambiance.
What a treat... Ive been to many carribean restaurants and this one is by far one of the best. Its just so tasty and fresh. I cant wait to go back
Roti chicken made my belly iree
Great food friendly service.
I can t complain about the food because it tastes ok but the service was awful. If you can t smile and don t like working with the public then why are you even in the restaurant business??? We reserved for my friends birthday and we waited forever to get served and the waitress was rude and had her earphones on? Ridiculous...never going back again.
Great West Indian food
Typical Jamaican. Nothing spectacular. And no damn Patties ot Ting when I went. Service was lousy. Felt like I was bothering the staff when asking for a glass of water.
Roti was microwaved, was not impressed. Small nice establishment, hope this is not the norm for all meals.
Great food. Jerk chicken was a little dry for my liking but it was still really good. Oxtail dumpling and plantain were all perfect 95 outta 100
Great Jerk Chicken House and no one will touch their Akee and Salfish plate.
The food was delicious. Prices are fair. A definite repeat. Service great.
Super yummy and very friendly owners!
Haven t eaten here in a over two years. I remembered it as being very good. Today had the chicken Roti. Tasted like it was stored and heated in the microwave for a very long time. The flavour was dead and dry. The potato cake was very good!
Thank you for your welcome Friday October 26 and for introducing us to Caribbean flavors.
Only had the Jamaican Patties but they were good enough to warrant a 5 star review.
The food was absolutely amazing and the service was on point. I would highly recommend this restaurant for an authentic Caribbean food experience.
Great place for the occasional taste of the islands.
Cute island style restaurant
Awesome ox tail
Best carribean food in Montreal
Really good home cooked west indian food.
Love it a+
I dont understand how this places stays afloat. Maybe Im just not into carribean food. The restaurant was empty at 6PM, which says a lot. The owners were playing backgammon in front of customers, half the food on the menu was not available. I really didnt like my food. Tasteless, rice was still hard, drink was tasting really weird.
Authentic family run Carribean food.
Great restaurant, amazing food!
Food is authentic and at a great price. Very friendly staff
Good food. Good service. Went by tonight for food and they are boarded up. :(
LOVE this place !! Feels fresh every time
Tasty and spicy!
Had the jerk chicken, was very very good but way to spicy
Very good service good food
Food is delicious. Oxtail stew, jerked chicken...mmmmm
Great Jamaican food if you like authentic spicy Jamaican food, we were a group so I got to try almost everything, I tried the goat, chicken roti, oxtail, chicken stew and of course the jerk chicken, all were really good. My favorite was the jerk chicken,it was spiced really well. The service is very chill Jamaica style, very friendly people make you feel at home
Didnt open on time.
Very good Cuban authentic food! Not fancy place, but good food for a fair price. And you can also have a Cuban beer!
I would eat there daily if it was socially acceptable. Delicious!!!!!
Good food, nice portions and very affordable!
Great restaurant. Small and unpretentious, with authentic, excellent and honestly priced food.
