West Island Montreal's Taverne Style Pizza Place and Martini Bar
Super cute date spot! Food was really good. We had the fried calamari and veggie pizza. Both super solid choices. But the martinis are really the reason I’ll come back here. The Hot & Dirty was sooo good.
Came here during their soft opening in August. Parking lot has lots of room and the restaurant is easy to find. The drinks and appetizers were good, the pizza wasn't up to our expectations. Service was slow but we'll assume it's because all the staff was new and they were just getting started with the first few days of opening. I might consider coming back here if I'm in the area.
This establishment offers an exceptional dining experience. The cuisine is outstanding, the service—thanks to the attentive efforts of Steve—is impeccable, and the martinis are expertly crafted. The ambiance and atmosphere create a welcoming and enjoyable environment. While some tables are positioned a bit close together, this minor detail does not detract from an otherwise remarkable visit. Highly recommended.
What an amazing experience!! I was so happy to have found this place. I love how the restaurant felt 70's old school in my opinion. The drinks were great the mix drinks were tasty and lets get started on the pizza. Thin crust great flavors. I'd highly suggest going here. Thanks for the great experience I'll certainly come back.
This place really lived up to the hype. We ordered the pepperoni pizza, meatballs, garlic cheese bread, and fried chicken sliders. We loved everything. The pizza is very thin crispy/firm dough. If you want to make it extra sexy, ask for the spicy oil. The cheesy garlic bread is good. Its so good that you might have two pieces or more pieces and fill up accidentally. The meatballs are phenomenal. They’re small and tender and tasty. The sauce is wonderful. The fried chicken slider comes with a pickle and a mayo based sauce. I was told that it was very good. The decor is old school pizzeria. The only downside for us was crying babies. That is what you get for going for dinner early. Excellent service from Stavros. Highly recommended. We will be back for sure.
Such a warm greeting! The pizza was amazing with their spicy honey sauce, very tasty fried chicken sliders, & the blueberry strawberry cheesecake dessert was an incredible way to start our new friendship with Bernie’s. I highly recommend trying them out. *****
Exactly what the West Island has been missing! My wife and I had a fantastic dinner here. We were so thrilled to see this stylish pizza bar open up nearby, and we’re so happy it exceeded our expectations. The cocktails were some of the best we’ve had. (The Sunflower was a standout). The appetizers were all so interesting, but we settled on the following: Fried Chicken Sliders Meatballs Fries For our mains, we took a mushroom pizza and a spicy sausage pizza. Portions were very generous, staff were attentive and very friendly. Overall we had an amazing time and we will be back again soon!
A tavern-style pizza bar also serving a long list of various and creative martinis. The impressive menu is full of made-to-share dishes, the atmosphere is a comfortable, homey décor with a hint of both quirkiness and nostalgia (note the portraits of cats wearing a ruff and Nonna towel-style napkins, we loved that!) topped off with a solid playlist of 90s mostly hip-hop. Although we would have loved to try every item, we settled on: - Fried Chicken Sliders, incredibly spiced crispy chicken and a fantastic secret sauce - BBQ Pizza, a thin crust pie covered in a lovely hickory BBQ sauce that wasn't too sweet, delicious smokey bacon and chicken grilled to perfection. - Spicy Bernie's Pizza. All we have to say is "wow". We can describe the ingredients, but it won't do it justice; please go try it for yourself. And for dessert, they tempted us with a ridiculous-sounding Fried Swiss Rolls with Ice cream... And we just HAD to get that. No choice 🤷♂️ (it was glorious) Every element of this place, including the exceptional, friendly, and helpful service (they changed our plates for cleaner ones after our appetizers), displays a superior level of experience in the restaurant industry, and we can't wait to return to try more!
Great food, awesome service and ambiance.
Very good spot, great food and service. Fun place to grab a bite with friends and enjoy a drink or two. Keep it up!
Amazing new place in the West Island. Service and food are great!
Really enjoyed my dinner! Shared a Caesar salad, fries and two pizzas with three girlfriends. They loved their martinis. I had a nonalcoholic drink which was very good. Great service!
Excellent martinis and gluten free options !! we will be back
Very good food and service. We had the hot pep and a Caesar Salad, both delicious. Points off for no free refills on pop/soda and I found the seats (non bench seating) very uncomfortable. They re small and the padding isn t nice enough to sit on more than an hour. Regardless we d be back for the food.
Definitely will be coming back for round 2
Nice atmosphere Very loud when crowded Drinks were ok Pizza was good but had better Food : 4/5 |
Thank you for a great experience all around!!
Perfect food, perfect martini!
Excellent expérience I would definitely recommend to everyone!!!!! Food
We did our Xmas party at this restaurant. Everything was on point. Thank you Jordan and staff for a very good night!
Great atmosphere and ambience. Service was top notch and good was amazing! Definitely have the cheesy garlic rolls, the beef sliders and try the pizza!! It was all amazing! Had the mushroom pizza as well as the meat lovers! Make sure to add the spicy oil!! Overall a great place in the west island. Martinis were also top notch!
Great place!! I will be back for birthday celebrations!! Food
Amazing place and for good price. I really enjoyed it!
Delicious food and drinks, good service, but the music was way too loud! (Went on a Saturday evening) Difficult to carry on a conversation.
Great pizza and real drinks!!! Dietary restrictions: They are serious about nut free Food : 5/5 |
The pizza is thin crust and is perfect to share between 2-3 people along with some appetizers. We had the spicy bernies and it did not disappoint. Definitely recommend if youre craving pizza.
Wonderful place! Loved the spicy bernie pizza and sticky ribs!
Great food. Great service. Great restaurant.
The food was delicious! The service was excellent. The staff is so nice, respectful and fast.
Always a great time! Host is super helpful and food is great! Perfect dinner vibe!
Great service and great food Dietary restrictions: Great vegetarian cheese Food : 5/5 |
Went there last night and the service was TOP, the food was great ! Enjoyed the drinks and he atmosphere . Will definitely go back!!
Beautiful atmosphere and the lasagna is so good...
I really wanted to like this place but it did not live up to the hype. I was to meet friends at the bar, when my mom who was having dinner there, notified me that it was very busy. I had her make a reservation for me at 9pm. When I arrived and was told by the OWNER that I would need to wait for my mom and her friends to hurry up if I wanted to be seated, even though they were not sitting at the bar where our reservation was. We finally got seated at 9:45 after waiting in the cold entrance for 45 minutes. When we got to the bar there were only 2 seats for 3 of us, and it took them a good 5 minutes to bring a 3rd chair. The bar was also not clean, full of crumbs from the people before us. We also noticed how there were many drinks in the fridge behind the bar, which were wrong drinks, and sent back but when someone ordered them again they would re-shake and serve them. The owners also seemed to pick and choose who they were giving free apology drinks to because of the wait and we did not make the cut when we had a reservation...Overall I would not go back, the service was not good at all, the pizza was very mediocre, and it was too loud inside.
Amazing everything. The staff, vibe, and (most importantly) food were all amazing. The tavern style pizza was unique and beyond delicious. The West Island was lacking a restaurant like this for so long. I came with my baby and there were no issues in terms of accommodations. Can t wait to make this spot a regular. Thanks Jordan and team!
What a gem if a restaurant, all dressed pizza was awesome and we also had the meatballs which were super tasty.
Pizza was delicious, thin crust with hot honey sauce, salad, drinks, and appetizers were great as well! Service was 5 stars, even on a busy night!
We arrived at 7:55pm for our 8:00pm reservation. We were only seated around 8:25/8:30pm. It took a while until we even got menus and the waitress wasn t paying much attention to our table (no water, no menus, not taking our order). Food was OK but overpriced for what it was. Wine option was very limited, especially considering it s a pizza joint. Atmosphere was nice. I don t recommend overall but it s still a good option for take-out pizza.
Really wanted to love this place but it was just OK. Place is incredibly loud and they jam pack the tables next to one another, where it feels like you re eating on top of each other almost. Service was good and quick. The martini was delicious and the pizza was good. Had the pepperoni and the veggie. Very thin crust, very crispy but it s quite dry, not enough sauce. Pepperoni was very good, veggie was OK. Prices are OK considering how big the pizza is. At the end of our dinner, the server apologized for bringing the bill when he brought our leftovers, said it was a habit, but then he brought the machine to pay 2 mins later, so was kind of annoyed about that. Add to that the text message the day of to say we had 90 mins since we were a party of 2 , just felt rushed the entire evening. Overall I think this is would be a great spot for a group of friends or a family, but forget it as a date night.
Food: appatizers were just decent. The chicken sliders were good. The Pizzas were ON POINT! Perfectly cooked, charred and crispy. Service was a let down. Although she was a young inexperienced waitress you should always check on your tables to see if everything is going well. We wouldve ordered more drinks but we had to chase down our waitress. The vibe was really nice. Although its a small establishment it feels cozy. And dont complain if youre sitting down very close to another table. The restaurant needs to make money and utilize every inch of their space. Definitely will be back
We loved this place The food the drinks and the service were great Thank you Steve Sukaina and Jordan for making this happen It was our first time but it won t be our last Food : 5/5 |
Service was amazing! Food was amazing! Martini s were amazing
Bernie s Martini Bar It s been a long time since I had a Pizza that was Kick Ass Good And the West island Salad .Oh yeah ! I am impressed . Bravo !
the girls & i had a great time in bustling bernie s. the caesar salad was great, and the fun guy pizza TO DIE. we also had the eggplant pizza which couldve used double the amount of toppings so it was just ok, too bad, its so promising. the photo we sae of it before going looked a lot more generous. still, we ll be back!
Amazing from the pizza to the martinis!! Gluten free pizza was delicious! Food : 5/5
I really enjoyed my evening with the Family. Very Welcoming and great service, food is amazing as well. will definitely come back! Food
Courteous welcome, young atmosphere, delicious pizzas
Atmosphere is really lovely. Would be a nice place for a date and also for groups of people. The service is excellent! I had a nice chat with the manager/owner. Im very particular about my pizza and this one was absolutely delicious! The cheesecake was just the way I like it - so fresh and creamy. I highly recommend this new restaurant on the corner of Sources and Salaberry.
Cool place to go: amazing atmosphere, wonderful martinis and authentic Italian pizza. A hidden gem in West Island.
Great food. Great vibe! Food
I have to say I am legitimately mind boggled by all the 5 star reviews. The restaurant is fine but far from perfect. When first coming in the atmosphere is a mix of cool and old timey with a modern looking bar and you are welcomed with some great music playing, a mix of some well known retro classics. This is contrasted though with an odd green colour scheme that I didn t love and an extremely cramped space, there was maybe 20cm between tables. The table for two was tiny, and the feeling of being cramped just got worse as the space filled in as the evening went on. We only ordered the calamari as an entree which was very well cooked - crisp on the outside and beautifully tender on the inside and may have been one of the better calamari I ve had in the West Island but the portion receives for the price was outrageous- about 16 thin pieces of calamari or what looked like 2 small squid. It was served with a spicy mayo that paired well with the dish but the tomatoe sauce that accompanied it was too thick and sweet and made us both immediately think of ketchup. The pizzas we ordered were brought quickly, a bbq chicken and a pepperoni. The crust is thin and despite the good cook on it it leaves a lot of space for improvement. It still seems a little flaccid and has an odd texture, I was expecting a little crunch considering the dark colour underneath the crust but the chew was more like a dense bread. The bbq sauce was too sweet for the pizza and lacked a little spice and the chicken was dry. The pepperoni was similar in terms of the crust but the pepperoni itself was fine. The tomato sauce is underwhelming, lacking any real character to add to the pie. The service was pleasant and fairly attentive but far from perfect. After initial service we waited long for water to be refilled and very long for our bills at the end of the night. Overall the restaurant was average, with an interesting cocktail menu and I suspect is drawing lots of attention now from reviews and tons of presence on social media. In terms of price to quality this restaurant suffers substantially and is not worth the expense. You can find far bettter pizza at cuginis and if you are looking for a vibe you can go to 4 origins.
We showed up without reservation on a busy Thursday night and the staff was so nice and found a way to accommodate us. They even came back out to look for us to make sure we didn t leave since they were able to make a spot for us. Very good food, reasonable prices, nice setting. The pizza was amazing and big enough for 2 people. We went with 2 children and the staff was super patient and nice, but no kids menu. Will be going back. Thanks
We had a blast hard to get seats and staff made it happen. Great recommendations and drinks. Pizza was excellent.
Everything was amazing here especially the sliders, and tavern style square cut pizza Oh yeah and the creme brule
The Raspberry Mojito was great. Service was good considering it was quite busy when we arrived. Reservations is suggested as it s a small place and a popular place. It apparently opened a little over a month ago and I got to say the place was charming. I would definitely go another time for sure.
Went there yesterday and was absolutely amazed, good food, friendly staff, good drinks, thanks, guys.
Delicious pizza, fun ambiance, great staff, but needs a few more waiters/ waitresses. All in all great experience, definitely going back.
Music was amazing. Food was good! Try the margatini cocktail.
5 of us went to check this place out. Ordered cocktails (very good) and meatballs (also very good), but apparently we took too long to order our mains because our waiter said that his « hostess would kill him « if we didn t order soon. The pizza was just plain bad. And this is not a thin crust vs thick crust debate. I enjoy all types of pizza but ours were paper thin, and barely had toppings beyond the tomato sauce. I was offered spicy oil that never arrived. We were then told we would need to vacate the premises in 10 minutes we d been there for a little over 90 min and had not been informed of this time limit). My friend had ordered coffee a good 15 minutes earlier. It finally arrived as the bills came. I don t understand the hype and I m being generous with the 3 stars. One and done for me.
Loved it so much! Thank you will definitely be back :) Food
Brilliant! Hip yet warm atmosphere, and very welcoming. The bar, as always, is where we camped, and what a fun time we had. Sophia took such good care of us, and the martinis were on point...as was the music. We started with calamari (fresh, not frozen rings) and sticky ribs. Both were deeee-lish. We shared a Spicy Bernies pizza which certainly did provide a tingle, but went to the next heat level by dipping it in the spicy oil they provided on the side. Cheesecake in a martini glass and a creme brule to finish added a sweet exclamation mark to a great night. Superb addition to the West Island dining scene!
The presentation, though surely heaven for others, was a drop inauthentic for me personally. The food was good but not amazing for the price compared to nearby options.
I enjoyed the pizza and bread rolls; the price was ok for the quality, though the menu lacks size details be sure to ask. Our group split the pizza since our appetite was small, but if youre hungry, go wild. The staff was very friendly. However, the ambiance didnt work for me. The chairs were uncomfortable, the music was a bit loud, and we were seated in a high-traffic spot/where staff passed by often despite plenty of empty tables by the window or wall that stayed vacant throughout our visit.
The best pizza in town !!!!!
Visited Bernie s last night and it did not disappoint. Started off with the fried chicken sliders and the calamari and both were amazing. We tried the Summer pizza and it was the perfect mix between sweet and salty. The cut of the pizza was also a really fun detail. Made it much easier to pick up and eat. The husband raved about the peach bourbon iced tea. The only part that could have been better was the dessert. The deep fried Swiss roll was a disappoint. Regardless we would come back to Bernie s anyday. The service was also fantastic.
This is our first time at this restaurant. went with several couples for a night out. They did make a couple of mistakes with the drinks. We ordered entrees we got our salad which was supposed to be a green salad it only had lettuce and croutons since we didnt want the bacon the quantity was really chintzy. Indefinitely not worth the money. We ordered our main course which was a pizza vegetarian was supposed to have vegetables cheese shallots and artichokes. To my disappointment they forgot to put the cheese and instead of shallots they put a whole bunch of onions, unappetizing one of the couples waited almost half an hour after we all ate to get their main course which was a pizza . they asked for it to take it home as we were all leaving. when they opened the pizza box they found the pizza was totally burnt to death. They spoke to the manager to replace the pizza. A pizza a lettuce salad and a glass of wine with a glass of beer tip $81.00 I dont really see the value there. Vegetarian options: We ordered a vegetarian meal they forgot to put the cheese on the pizza and there was so little vegetables I think they ran out Parking: The best part was that we found the parking right in front of the restaurant
Amazing food, especially the thinnest-crust . Delicious and cooked to perfection. Nice service with our waitress Sakina. Great Martini, especially the Espresso Martini. Highly recommended
This is exactly what the West Island has been missing. For too long, the area has lacked family friendly dining that didnt pander to children. From the moment we booked our reservation, we felt wanted. At no point did we feel as if we were just a ticket number. The space, while luxurious, has a homey feeling that welcomes you in. We were 4 adults and a toddler, and we quickly realized that we were not the only ones. Instead of our toddler being treated as if he was a nuisance, he was warmly welcomed into the dining experience as well by all staff. Our drinks were phenomenal, and the food was to die for. My mother, who will normally complain about SOMETHING at a restaurant, praised everything she was served, even going on a tangent about how her martini reminded her of her early adult years. Were all excited to say that we will be returning, and we wish Bernies good fortune for years to come.
Great food, great service, great vibe
Great martinis and pizza! The cheese pie was incredible! Thin crispy crust with amazing sauce and lots of cheese
Great addition to the west island, exactly what it has been missing. Owner is great and welcoming. Food is pretty good, and fairly diverse menu besides the pizzas. Look forward to coming again
From the Owners to the Staff to the food, one hell of a place! Long time since I had the perfect vodka martini....just ask as they have a whole menu dedicated to specialties!
Went there during their soft opening and the atmosphere was great. Food was tasty and can be shared easily with a group of friends. Many options of martinis for everyone s taste.
Delicious food, great atmosphere and amazing staff! I definitely recommend
I was there this afternoon with a friend, and I really enjoyed sharing our experience with you. We ordered: The Fungi pizza which was very delicious having a crispy crust. Chicken wings are different because they are grilled, not fried, accompanied by carrots and celery. Not forgetting the limoncello martini and the Aperol Spritz! The service is courteous, the restaurant is clean and well decorated. And yes, we need such a place, in the west of the island, where we can eat a good pizza accompanied by a good cocktail.
A fun atmosphere, great pizza and drinks and affordable pricing (for once these days!). Highly recommend if you want a little fun for your West Island dining experience.
Great restaurant to discover in the West Island! The lavender lemonade was an excellent cocktail, very original. The pizzas were tasty but a little dry, probably because the crust is very thin. If we had known, we would have ordered an appetizer (the beef and fried chicken sliders looked very good!) and would have shared a pizza between two, rather than having a pizza each. Courteous service and nice atmosphere, with good music that is not too loud. We will return!
Shared a girls birthday dinner tonight. 3 different drinks were ordered all great, sliders and pizza great and dessert simply amazing. Our server Sakina was awesome. Will definitely be going back.
We heard so much about this place that we were extremely excited to go there. However, our experience was very disappointing. To start with, the restaurant was extremely loud that we had to shout to talk to my party of 7 sitting at the table. As for the food, our pizza (gabagool) was not spicy at all and was cooked to a crisp that all we tasted was burned doe. The sauce was minimal and very dry as well as the very scarce toppings. It was more like eating a dry burnt pizza bread. The waitress mentioned that the chicken sliders were a hot seller so we decided to try them. Let me just say save your money and go to McDonald s for a McChicken if you want a fried chicken burger because the taste is almost identical. For the prices they charge ($27 for the pizza and $22 for the 3 chicken sliders) you would at least expect a much better product. That being said, this was my 1st time at this restaurant and most probably the last.
Food was great, service was fantastic from the time of booking to leaving. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. We went early so it wasn t crowded, definitely was packed by the time we left but that s to be expected when the food is as good as it is. Would recommend! Kid-friendliness: We had a baby with us and everyone was super friendly with him, they set up a chair for him and he had such a great time.
Such a great little restaurant, the staff were so attentive, the food was great. We will definitely be back.
Well this is a must stop not only is the food delicious and reasonable but the service and atmosphere is absolutely amazing ! Steve and Jordon really get it and the vibe is so happy !!! Love it Food
Everyone was so friendly & food was so great Amazing addition to the West Island Food
Good food, amazing martinis, fun music! Really nice people too Highly recommend the Dirty MarGtini if you love margaritas
Firstly, the pizza is mediocre, the taste is bland, for the price the pizza is not too special, I can find better on any street corner. Secondly, the calamari was super oily, I had a headache afterwards, the presentation was nice but ineffective because there was almost no sauce to eat it with. Third, the cocktails are ok but overpriced for the price.
Delicious meal, warm decoration.
The West Island has been waiting for a place like this for a while. My daughter took me there for my birthday and we had a fantastic time. Sat at the bar and was able to easily talk to each other, but we were still able to chat with the bar staff. The only negative about the place is that it will become so popular getting in will be a problem.
I went on a Thursday evening, was seated promptly at the bar section. The person working at the bar was super kind and gave me an excellent service. They had a peach flavored mocktail and it was cool since they gave the peach candies with it. I also got the bernies meatballs, which was the best meatballs i have ever had. I didnt get the chance to try the pizza but will definitely go back to try it.
Only open a month and already buzzing with chatter. I love thin crust pizzas with delicious sauces and a variety of toppings. If you do too, youll love Bernies pizzas. Their sliders are delicious and their mocktails are good and reasonably priced too.
Food was great! Service was great! Will definitely go back
Terrific restaurant with a nice vibe, great servers, Good service and our pizza was delicious. Will definitely go back had a great experience! Well greeted and portions are perfect.
Great experience with an attentive staff, delicious food and lovely drinks! We had the chance to experience a fun ambiance with family and the food did not disappoint! Definitely recommend getting the beef sliders as a fun sharing side.
The sliders (mini burgers) are ok. The Summer Pizza is really not good. There is almost only dough (very thin), without taste or filling.
Just the kinda place the West Island needed! The vibe was on point, the staff was super friendly, the food was unpretentious and delicious. We had such a great girls night there which was made better by our interaction with boss babe Nicole who is part owner. She s also the brain that created the Dirty Margtini which was amazing. We will definitely be going back and recommending to friends. Not just for adults, there were a few families there as well but the layout is so cozy that you don t notice anyone but the people you re with.
Went last Friday with a girlfriend and was pleasantly surprised! Nothing like this on the WI. Staff was welcoming and friendly. We waited a bit for our menus and drinks but whatever, they were busy and everything more than made up for it. We had the Bourbon Peach Ice Tea and the Gin Lavender Lemonade - excellent cocktails, great value for the price (big drink, not a dinky cup). Ceasar salad was good, croutons were amazing. The Summer pizza was excellent!!! Dough was think and crispy, but not like a napoletana crust, it was super airy and light, never had anything like it. The toppings were a great combo and not too much/not too little. Cool decor, good music, friendly staff, will definitely go back!!!
Such a warm greeting! The pizza was amazing.Great place to share pizzas. A must try is the Dirty Marg-Tini. The perfect combo! Will be back! Food
Bernie s is a fantastic new spot that perfectly blends the classic pizza joint vibe with a touch of sophistication. The pizzas were delicious, with a crispy crust and perfectly balanced toppings. But the real standout? Their martinis. Absolutely amazing! The drinks were crafted to perfection, adding a unique twist to the whole dining experience. The ambiance is relaxed yet stylish, making it a great place for both casual meals and fun nights out. Highly recommend if you re in the mood for great pizza and stellar drinks!
Amazing place!! Such good drinks and incredible pizza. My new favourite spot in the West-Island for a night out
We didn t have their pizza, so i cannot comment on that. We had 2 appetizer (the calamari, although very tasty , is the smaller presentation i have ever seen) and 2 drinks, we paid over 100$. Not really worth it.
The service was excellent! Sat at the bar and we were served by Nicole who connected with us all night. Loved the atmosphere. The martini menu was my favourite. Great drinks and the best one I tried was the Marg-tini super fun twist and it tasted great! The portions were very generous. Lots of delicious pizza and we also got the caesar salad. Will be back very soon and feel this place is exactly what the West Island needed.
Second time here. Last time we had the sliders This time we had Pizza and Salad with the kids Will definitely be back! Food : 5/5
Bbbbbanger place bbbbbbbbbbanger food bbbbbbbbbbbbanger service La salads caesar a changé notre vie Everywhere I go, people tell me this, they tell me Bernie s Pizza and Martini Bar, it s the best
BEST VIBES BETTER PIZZA
Super nice date spot, great food, and friendly staff- such a great time, definitely going back :)
Instant West Island classic. Great spot for sharing a pizza, salad and sides with family & friends. Some of the best pizza I ve ever had Kid-friendliness: Great place to share a pizza, salad and sides with the whole family
Absolutely amazing restaurant! 10/10 great food, fun atmosphere and excellent service. Would recommend to anyone from grabbing a quick bite to eat to a night out with the girls! WILL BE BACK
Great energy and amazing music - with an attentive staff and excellent food. Highly recommend!
Had a great time trying out this place! Pizza + appetizers were awesome! Nice atmosphere as well. Will return for sure:)
Finally a good West Island pizza. Fun decor, super staff and priced nicely.
Beautiful decor, amazing food & service! Will definitely be coming back
Nice!
If ya lookin for a spot for a datenight witcha boo or dinner witcha boys, Bernies is the spot boiiiiii. Pizza, martinis, they got it all dawg.
Great atmosphere, great music and even better food and drinks!!
Great food! Good service! We will definitely come back!
Such a cool spot with great food! I love the decor, the music and the overall vibe of the place. Its also very clean! Definitely give the ribs and the sliders a try. Ohh and the bbq chicken pizza was I also had the maple whiskey martini which was delicious.
Had a great time at Bernie s, super cool atmosphere, delicious pizza and the best martinis.
Delicious appetizers and crispy thin crust pizzas, all perfect for sharing. Unique and flavorful cocktails and fun atmosphere!
Bernies was a fabulous experience! We shared everything with friends and must say I loved it well come back for more delicious food.
Geat drinks, service at the bar by Sakina was legit. She gave us info on various drinks. We cant wait to go back and try more. The nibbles we had as late evening snacks were tasty and fresh. The Crème brûlée was soo good. And their playlist provided a great atmosphere!
Amazing spot with something on the menu for everyone. We had the meatballs, ribs, sliders, and pizza, and not disappointed with a single dish. Can t wait to come back!
Got to visit Bernies today and wow was I ever so blown away! The atmosphere is super cute, the staff was very pleasant and the food was just out of this world! We had 3 different pizzas (thin, crispy yummy crust), a salad, chicken sliders and ribs and absolutely nothing disappointed. We loved it so much we took 2 additional pizzas to go to have for lunch the next day! I only wish I had taken pictures to show you!!
Delicious pizza, great atmosphere, and friendly staff!!! Perfect place to sip a couple martinis with the girls!!!
The food and martinis are incredible. New favourite pizza tavern. I will come back 100x more. Could not recommend this place enough
Cool vintage NY vibe! Great place for pizza and martinis! Will definitely be back
Great new spot in the WI! Amazing vibe & ambience. Not a bad item on the menu. Great pizzas with many unique topping combinations. Loved the sliders and ribs! Service wonderful. Looking forward to coming back!
amazing everything
The food was incredible!! Pizza is crispy and flavourful. Martinis are unique, creative and dangerously delicious. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, not to mention the awesome music and great service. Highly recommend !
What a pleasant surprise! Bernies cool vibe and delicious food made for a fabulous evening out. Our table of 6 shared multiple dishes. The sliders, both beef and chicken, were out of this world! The calamari, West Island salad, and summer pizza were also at the top of my list. Whatever you choose, you wont regret it and dont forget to have a drink from that impressive martini menu! We cant wait to return!
What an amazing gem for the West! Im not a martini person per se, but wow the selection they have (thanks to the suggestion of my waitress) are amazing! I had the cucumber-breeze and Limoncello martinis and wow! Pizza is on point too! Cant wait to be back and try some more!
We have been to Bernies twice now, The staff are amazing, friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is great, good music and an all around great vibe. I have tried several pizzas, The grilled wings, sliders, sticky ribs, everything was fantastic and the hot & dirty martini was off the hook!! Stop by you wont regret it.
Let me preface this review by saying I am an absolute pizza dork. I ve driven to New Haven for pizza, to Buffalo, to Brooklyn. If I m in a town that doesn t have a pizza scene, I ll do my homework to find the good spots. For the longest time, the West Island didn t really have any great pizza joints. I mean, the 2 for 1 neighborhood places will do in a pinch, but beyond that, it s been a desert But not anymore! My girlfriend and I were so jazzed to try this place, and my overzealousness could be felt in our order. Fried chicken sliders: very solid! Cheesy garlic rolls: so fluffy, light and delicious. Fries: I was dubious, because matchstick fries are so rarely done right, but these were just right. Crispy while not being overcooked. I wanted to keep ordering apps, but knew we had pies to get to, so I bit my tongue. I ll have to try the beef sliders, chicken wings, and ribs next time. For our pizzas, we sampled their summer pizza, their pepperoni and cheese, and their cheese pie. We got those with hot honey and ranch on the side. As this place is fairly new, I had very little in terms of reference points, so I was ecstatic to see how generously sized these pizzas were! The cook on them was also perfect, with the outer pieces having some char and some crisp, while the center pieces offered more flop n fold. Top tier! I washed those down with a few of their house martinis; the dill one, the marg one, and the espresso one with dessert. These were also great! A really nice balance, but still boozy enough that you know you re getting your dollars worth. Speaking of dessert, we were clearly full, but something on the menu caught my eye. I had to order the deep fried Swiss rolls. I couldn t identify the type of breading, but I believe it was a mix of spring roll wrapper AND panko, but I could be wrong. What I can say is that it was good as hell. Finally, I can t end this without talking about the service. Our waitress was extremely sweet, knowledgeable, and kept us updated and topped up over the 90 minutes or so we were there. Also, one of the owners who checked up on us was humble and genuinely appreciative of all the nice things we had to say. He even tried to take the fall for my awkward handshake as I was leaving. Super cool vibe, really great food and cocktails, and tbh way more reasonably priced than I d expected given the theme. Finally the west is starting to have cool spots with good food. I m coming back ASAP!
Margtini was so good and the dill martini was so interesting and I can t wait to come back for more it was like being down town atmosphere without having to travel downtown and the food was amazing and the staff is so friendly
Amazing pizza and awesome atmosphere. Exactly what the West Island needs! Espresso martini was really great as well!
Pizza is thin, crunchy, light and with quality ingredients! The batter on the fried calamaris was light and had a great sauce on the side! finally the Whiskey Maple martini was top class and the staff was friendly and delivered a great service! The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and very attentive, and the environment and decor are great. Music was a little loud, but that did not detract at all from the enjoyment of our visit. Highly recommended!
