Dosa Express is inside the mall behind the flower market
Amazing spot for authentic South Indian food! The dosas are perfectly crispy, and the chutneys and sambar are full of flavor. Friendly staff, cozy ambience, and great value for money.
This was my second visit to Dosa Express. The quality of dosa is very good and it was nice to see some more dishes added to the menu. Very reasonably priced and served in good quantity. I liked the dosa and Vada Sambar. Would highly recommend to any dosa lover.
We recently organized a private dosa program, and it was absolutely wonderful! The event featured a wide variety of dosas, each more delicious than the last. The flavors were exceptional, and we truly loved every bite. It was a delightful experience that exceeded our expectations!
It was little confusing to find this restaurant as it is hidden behind some fences and in the strip mall. There is big parking lot in front of the restaurant. I would suggest putting a sign on the fence facing towards parking lot. I ordered carry out of dosa and Idli. The food was delicious. The staff and service both were prompt and friendly.
Best dosa I’ve ever had. Takes a while but man very good authentic not too oily delicious
Tucked inside a little mall is a food gem. It doesn't look like all that much from the outside, but the flavours are wonderfully authentic: the food you could make at home if only you had the recipe, steeped in whole spices scattered with fresh cilantro. The naan was very good. The Samosa's were the freshest I've ever eaten, crisp and delicious with just the right amount of heat and bright, flavourful dips. The lassi was the best I've had. My son, who loves butter chicken said it was the best he'd eaten.
Dosa Express is located in Marche de l'Ouest. We had walked by this restaurant a month ago, and thought we'd give it a try next time which was yesterday: April 15, 2024 past 1h00 PM. Upon arrival, you can see the menu and some photos (their actual food, not random photos). Our eyes were drawn to the Masala dosa and their butter chicken with rice and naan. The menu wasn't as extensive as some other Indian restaurant, so we asked the gentleman to explain us the menu and different options and finally asked for suggestions to try out. He told us to go sit, and they would bring our food to our table (we are sitting in the food court). Masala dosa (with spiced potato) was so freaking good! The dough and filling were flavourful. It was the perfect crispiness of the thin "crepe" with smooth potato and onion. The chicken butter with rice an naan is a cliché of what we always order, because we like the sauce to eat with rice or naan, but here you get both! The combination was beautiful. Their naan dough bread seems to even be seasonned; there was a sweetness to the plain naan. Very nice surprised. We kept the best for last; ghee podi idli. Oh my days was it tasty! 3 pillowy steamed lentil spongy airy savory cakes drizzled with ghee and dry spices. Best eaten hot! It was our first time trying it and it did not disappoint. Oh, we also ordered a mango lassi (smooth, sweet, amd delicious). It came to 50$ for all this, and we had left overs for a second meal for 2. Very economical, flavourful meal and would definitely come back and order the rest of the menu. They have a few items and executes them perfectly. I would highly recommend!
This restaurant is a gem. We ordered 2 Masala Dosa and 1 serving of Ghee Podi Idli. Masala dosa was authentic and fresh, just tasted like a homemade dosa, no extra spicy and full of taste. Sambhar and chatnis were prepared fresh. Ghee idlis were delicious and made us full and happy. Will definitely come again to try other options.
Delicious food. Cooked well. Great customer dealing.
Best Dosa in Town
This place is legit
Cant decide whats more lovely the dosa or the hospitality. Feel like a visit back to south India.
Really good paneer masala dosa! I keep coming back for more. The uttapam, masala dosa, and onion dosa were also great.
Not too pricey Dosa was huge Food
I usually dont drop reviews, but this was one of the best authentic dosa Ive ever had which tasted amazing. I would say its the best in Montreal, would definitely visit again!
Very good food! Made fresh right in front of you. And the mango lassi is very good aswell.
Authentic South Indian Delight in Montreal Having lived in South India for 6 years, I ve always craved the authentic flavors of the region. After moving to Toronto, Sarvana Bhavan became my go-to spot for South Indian cuisine. However, since relocating to Montreal, I struggled to find a place that could match that authenticity until today. The food at this restaurant was a nostalgic trip back to South India. The dosa, idli, curries, and chutneys were spot on, with all the rich flavors you d expect from true South Indian cooking. It s easily the best South Indian food I ve had in Montreal. On top of that, the employees were some of the kindest and most humble people I ve met in Canada. Their service made the experience even more enjoyable. If you re looking for a taste of authentic South Indian cuisine, this place is a must-visit. Thank you for bringing these incredible flavors to Montreal! Vegetarian options: They have both veg and non veg options
Food is delicious.
We tried their Mysore Masala dosa, vada sambhar, idli sambhar and masala tea. Every food items are top notch and best in terms of taste. Their Mysore Masala dosa is must try food. Staff members are also polite and helpful. 100% recommended

Much recommended if you are looking for indian food in Montreal. Their dosa s are exceptionally good. Employees are also very kind and helpful.
Today I bought two Masala Dosas and a Plate of Vada to take out. My wife and I loved both of them. Will recommend Dosa Express to all our friends.
Fantastic Food, flavorful and very fresh reminds me of Sri Lanka

super delicious - had the chicken keema dosa and idly - fantastic!!
Deliscious dosas and mango lassi. Food court atmosphere. Service pleasant but not fast food.
Delicious South Indian cuisine. Friendly service. So hard to find in the West Island.
This place is a hidden diamond. Ive been twice. Both times the food was GREAT!! As was the service. Ill be back
One of the finest south Indian restaurant. We ordered paneer masala dosa and idli. Undoubtedly the best dosa I ever had.
Really good taste
I had the pleasure of dining at Dosa Express this weekend at marche de l ouest , and it truly made my day! The food was incredibly authentic and fresh, with just the right amount of mild spice, just as I requested. The staff were exceptionally friendly, enhancing our experience and making us feel right at home. Although I live quite far away, I can t wait to return. If you re a fan of Indian cuisine, Dosa Express is a must-visit destination that guarantees a warm welcome!
Podi idly was amazing
An authentic dosa spot with very rich flavours. Definitely a good spot for anyone interested in experiencing south indian food.
Great lamb keema dosa. Service seems disorganized though. Waited 40 minutes for a single dosa from what I could tell there was only one couple (two dosas) ahead of me but somehow people after me started getting their food.
Excellent idli dosas... Must try Karam masala and Mysore masala dosas. Big portions and fresh food. Vegetarian options: Very good veg options
The most authentic dosa in Montreal . Try their best selling Mysore masala dosa and mango lassi. All food items are high quality and authentic South Indian taste.
Amazing food , freindly enviorment . Sambar is amazing Food
Some of the best dosa I have had. Crispy and customizable, these guys put their heart and soul into their food. Congrats!
The best dosa in mtl, must try the cheese dosa. It was super yummy. Im so happy I found this place
We ordered food and tea. Ended up waiting for 45 mins for tea, reminded them twice. The first time, they forgot. The second time, they couldnt find us when we were sitting at the exact table where they delivered our order twice. When asked him how long it would take? They said 1 min and asked the exact time, and they said 10 mins. Average food and bad customer service.
Such a great spot in the west island. Delicious!!
One of the best Dosa s I have had in a while. Definitely recommend.
The Marsala Dosa and Ghee Podi Idli were amazing
Delicious food
Best South Indian food you can get in Montreal hands down.
In these many years of living in Montreal, this is the Best dosa weve ever had, the chef told us before we leaving with our take out, that the dosa is going to be delicious,And his words were like Golden words!! It was soo true! Must try this place if youre visiting or living in Montreal.
Delicious food. We tried Mysore masala dosa, onion masala dosa , idli and wada Everything was perfect.
Food was too good! Loved the vibes and the hospitality of the restaurant!
The best dosa place in entire Ottawa and Quebec.
Good
I love the rose drink
Visited the place a few days before. Good food at reasonable cost.
Amazing food n excellent customer service full 5 star. I would definitely recommend this place. Very reasonable prices too.
I picked up food from Dosa Express last evening. I picked up Vada, Onion Uttappam and Ghee Podi Idly. All of them were very diliciouse. Their Sambar and Chutney were very flavourful and spice level was perfect. If you really crave real south Indian food this is the place to go, prices are good and their portion is generous. MY wife ordered and there was a mixed up, my wife ordered 2 dishes of Sambar Vada (which is $7.99) but they prepared 2 dishes of Vada (which is $$9.99). When I told them about mixed up they only charged me for Vada with a big smile :) { which was $16 ($7.99 X 2) instead of $20 ($9.99 X 2) } no fuss no argument. And on top of this my bill was $51 and I did not have $1 change they took only $50. Vyankatesh and Gautam are always smiling and when you need help for ordering they always suggest the right thing (I asked them if it is ok to order Dosa for pick up and they told me no, it is not a good idea).
The Best Dosa Experience in Town! If youre a fan of South Indian cuisine, you absolutely must try the dosas at Dosa express. The dosas here are nothing short of perfection. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, each bite is a harmonious blend of textures. The classic plain dosa is a great starting point, showcasing the skill of the chefs. Its served with an array of chutneys coconut, tomato, and spicy red that elevate the experience even further. A MUST TRY...cheers
Best dosa in montreal

Located in the Marché de L Ouest- my daughter and I stumbled upon this resto and decided to take a chance. Thank god we did!! Food was excellent- flavourful and delicious. The Chana Simosa (an Indian street food) was 10/10- it was a tangy, crunchy bowl of heaven. We loved the butter chicken too! Great prices and well worth a visit! Lots of people eating the masala dosa- excited to try it next visit.
Very very good food. The manager gave me a discount of the food. Very well made and quick service. 10/10. Must try
Was good. Must try
It is the best place to have dosas. Only a few restaurants in Montreal serve authentic dosas, and this place is one among them.
The food is great and staff super friendly
We ordered ghee podi idli, masala dosa, paneer masala dosa, and sambhar vada. Food was fresh and hot. With one bite, we fell in love with dosa and sambhar. Definetly recommend it! One of the best dosas

The best Ghee karam chicken keema dosa I had
Visited recently. Dosa and uthappam with sambar was very tasty. Will visit again
Dosa was good enough but not as yummy as it should be. Coconut chutney was very yummy and the other chutney was okay. I hope they improve the taste, I would want to visit more often then. Staff was very good and service as well. Vegetarian options: All dishes were vegetarian. Kid-friendliness: Yes it was kids friendly. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes wheelchair accessible.

Vegetarian options: Plenty Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
Best dosa shop in the West Island. We eat here at least 1x a week. The food taste great and it s worth the price.
We got the paneer masala dosa and the lamb keema dosa. Both were hot and crispy! Enough spice to start a light sweat on the brow. The mango lassi was creamy, delicious and light on sweetness. It put out the fire nicely. Service was very friendly. Plenty of seats in the food court. Don t sleep on this spot!
Fresh and exceptionally good South Indian food. Hands down the best in the West Island!
Amazing flavours! I got the lamb keema dosa, fantastic. Would recommend.
We shared the Vada, paneer dosa and chicken Keema dosa. Everything was very fresh and tasty. We ve wanted a South Indian place in the West Island and very happy with this new place! The price and flavour is better than Thanji in CDN!
Amazing food and great service
Homemade, affordable and delicious. Will certainly be back, my toddlers loved it too! Looking forward to trying more of their dishes. They all looked good.
Great inexpensive place to stop for quality Indian food. Not quite the best Indian food in Montreal, but it does not have to be. The rice was strange, I dont know if it was basmatti or not, but not what I expected. Everything else tasted good - except the salad was just cucumbers, anyways, probably just a one time thing since this was my first experience. Go check them out!
Best in this region...awesome service and food is delicious.
We had the dosa, the chana samosa and the mango lassi. Everything was great and offered at an affordable price. Our baby loved the mango lassi! The owners are also really nice. Would 100% recommend!

This place is in the food court and has seating right in front of the restaurant. Vegetarian options: The masala dosa is potato and is vegetarian! Comes with sambar which is also vegetarian Wheelchair accessibility: Doors are automated, no steps
New south Indian dosa resto at Marche de louest. Something important to say is that all the ingredients at this place are fresh to maintain the authentic taste. The owners refuse to use standard ingredients. It makes all the difference. From taste to flavor, texture, quality and also the acidity after eating adds to the experience . Each dosa is made on the spot. Spices are mixed in the appropriate quantities and you can tell. The owners are very nice and open to comments. Definitely a place to explore. Pricing and quantity of food is more than reasonable. Vegetarian options: Several vege options available. Half the menu is vege.
I recently ordered from Dosa Express, and the experience was delightful. The Podi Idly had a perfect balance of flavours, and the Masala Dosa was expertly crafted with a crispy texture and flavourful potato filling. The Mango Lassi was a refreshing complement to the meal. The overall ambiance and service were commendable, making it a must-try for South Indian cuisine enthusiasts.
I have ordered Samosa Chat and Ghee Podi Idly both tastes great , I can feel the fresh taste of samosa and the smooth idly topped with ghee and podi. I have tried these in many places but this was the best Authentic south Indian food court till date . Great hospitality and service. I will definitely recommend my friends and would love to visit more frequently. Vegetarian options: Must try Dosa .
Finally a taste of Indian(IYKYK) that was missing on the west island! Tasty and fresh. Very promising!
Ive had the mango lassi, masala chai tea, lamb curry and butter chicken and give them all a thumbs up. I would definitely recommend this place. A welcome addition on the West Island!

I recently dined at the Dosa Express , and the experience was delightful. The ghee Karam idli was a standout perfectly spiced and soaked in ghee, creating a unique and flavorful dish. The ambiance added to the overall enjoyment, making it a must-try for South Indian cuisine enthusiasts.
We had Chicken Kheema Dosa and Masala Dosa, both were amazing with beautiful crisp texture, will definitely go and try other dishes. Vegetarian options: Available

I m so so happy there s a dosa spot here! The couple who run the place are really nice too! Delicious food and excellent service
My husband and I went for lunch at Marche de l ouest and i ordered the butter chicken express ($10) which came with rice and nan bread, along with 2 samosas. It was delicious! Super aromatic, hot and fresh. My husband said they were his favourite samosas he had tried in a long time. You can t beat the price and the portion is excellent.
Excellent. Had the butter chicken - really nice flavour, rice very aromatic, chicken portion generous and very tender. The vegetable samasos were best Ive had. Very good portion of filling and it was perfectly cooked. Not too spicy, came with side sauces.
Amazing dosas, ordered the paneer dosa and lamb dosa. Was crispy on the edges, filled very evenly and a very generous helping. The mango lassi went perfectly with our meal. A must try!
Authentic flavours and good food must try.
We passed by and noticed this new counter here at West Island market. We didn t plan on eating but decided to give it a try. We love Indian cuisine and we have dined at Taj and Gandhi in Old Montreal. The samosas we tasted today are over the top. We have to plan now to return to try their curries and Dosa , of course. Can t wait!
Very good food
We did take out and the food was really great! The dosa was crunchy and sauce was flavorful! The place looks unassuming but is hearty and you can tell there s a lot of love put into it. Family owned with great service and care! Highly recommend!
Very tasty Pleasant exchanges with owners Thank you
If you wanna try Indian dosa and and stuffs go and enjoy.
Simply delicious !! I tried many Indian restaurants in Montreal and this is one of the best !
