Arrived at the restaurant around 1pm on a Sunday. Not many people in the restaurant but service was quick and friendly. So I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki along with a beer. Very tasty and finished the whole plate. I will add this to my favorites for Montreal for sure.
The portion sizes are very reasonable for the prices. The lunch menu has a good selection. It's a little longer cook time but worth the wait, the food is really good.
I like large places so I feel good at Barbies especially cause they have booths . The guys who attended us where nice and attentive, always smiling. The menu offers many options and specials, all affordable. I ordered the casserole of sea food gratined and my husband, smoked meet sandwiche with fries and cauliflower salad. We also had the soup d jour . That was good but far from amazing.
I've been going to Barbie's when it first opened (maybe 25 years ago?). I haven't been there in around 5 years and nothing has changed except they finally renovated. We went for Sunday lunch on Father's Day. Service was quick and friendly. I ordered the smoke meat poutine and my husband ordered the pizzaghetti. Both were good and even better - $30 tax in. You really can't get a better deal price wise in the city, you just need to remember to print the coupons from their website. If you're looking for a good, inexpensive American-style restaurant, Barbie's should be your go to. Very family friendly too. They have a bar section if you just want to grab a drink or to watch a game.
April 2024 - This is a return visit. I had to try a different pizza, and the hamburger steak was tried by my husband. Good choices. Puzza was great, and so was the hamburger steak. Barbies is a great and convenient place to eat. This time, we sat in the bar because there was a large party with noisy kids. It's not a good idea. The service was not up to par. When asked for something, it took forever. We had to get up and get it ourselves. Not impressed. Unbeknownst to me in the summer of 2021, this Barbie's location reopened. Why did I not know about it? I was surfing the net and accidentally found that the restaurant had reopened. Yeah! With a fully redecorated location, it was an adventure to see if the new franchise is as good as the old. We went with the basics. I had the Meat Lovers pizza, and my partner had the Chicken Souvlaki Sticks. The pizza was good. I ate the whole thing. So if you follow me, you know I'm not a big eater. When it arrived at the table it was steaming hot. I love that. The top was a bit overdone, as you can see in the picture, and it seemed as if someone had forgotten the toppings. The crust was thin and crispy, but as it cooled, it got very hard to cut. The sauce was super tasty, and the pepperoni was perfectly sliced. The menu said that it had smoked meat and bacon, but it was hard to find any. Too bad. I love pizza. As for the Souvlaki, it was very good. I tried the chicken, thinking it would be dry as Souvlaki sticks often are. I was wrong. Tasty, juicy, and super tender. The plate was filled with rice, and a small bowl of salad was provided. The rice was good, but my partner wanted more salad. It was that good. Will we go back? Absolutely. Barbies now has a fidelity card and promotions. Check out their website.
This was our first time eating at a Barbies Grill. The atmosphere was nice. Our waiter was hilarious and we enjoyed his humour. Our food was good, I had a half rack of ribs. The prices are fair. The restaurant was very clean. There is free parking. I would recommend this restaurant. We ate here on Feb 11.
I went looking for steak sub and I was a little sad to hear they don't make any subs. But the front hostess told me just take a look at their menu and she even gave me some suggestions. In the end I took the half rack of ribs and chicken tenders. I couldn't stay as I had to leave but I ordered it as pick up. The serving portion was really great. I can say wow, I'm full and I only had half the box! The reason I didn't give them 5✨️ was because there was no wet wipes with my order.... ribs .... Ribs!!! I don't know who eats ribs with a fork haha. Finger licking good. Shout out to the front hostess, Thank you for the encouragement to try something out.
Good portions.. fair prices for the offering. Good nachos with 28.50$ draft pitcher (new reality ?) Chicken was good. Very good service from Simon. Very disappointed by the burger… good toppings but the meat was processed, dry, tasteless and hard to chew. It should be easy to fix. Invoice was suggesting the right amount of tip before taxes. Credit card machine was doing the opposite. Not fully transparent. Normally, I would give 3 stars but it is a new local business.

Mixed experience. I went to pick up the meals. The chicken slouvaki was excellent. The correct smoked meat and the chicken skewer, clearly reheated. The meat was very dry.

This is our favorite restaurant....We, myself and my two nephews are regulars. We always get our usual table,,,not once have we been disappointed with the food or the service. The three of us have frequented many establishments , but none come close to Barbies, so we have decided its best to stick with what you know, and avoid disappointment,
They tried to say that our tip wasn t enough and that if we didn t pay more then it would come out of the waitresses pay. We left. When we said that the tip wasn t mandatory anyway and the manager said it was. It s not mandatory to tip and lying to us about that should be a crime. We will never come back here again and we might take our complaint further.

We were a group of 8. The service was great, the staff is very friendly and the food is excellent.
We went there on a Sunday evening. The place was quiet and the seats comfortable. It was a little cold in the restaurant though. For those who are cold, bring a shawl or sweater. The choice of cocktails and dishes is very interesting. You can benefit from the 2 menu for $35 or 2 for $40 which is magnificent for the quality-price ratio. The dishes were excellent and even the calamari was good, even though we were in a steakhouse. Additionally, you can have 1 child not paying per adult who takes a dish from the a la carte menu every Sunday. (12 years and under) The dishes on the childrens menu are generous and the drinks are unlimited for our little ones. My 12 year old son who always complains about the childrens portions was satisfied. In general, this is a restaurant to recommend for people with large families or children under 12 years old. We all eat and with a tip for less than $100/ Family of 6 made up of 2 parents and 4 children The children drew on their menus but we were only given 4 pencils the children had to exchange them. Parking: Parking is to the side of the restaurant and easily accessible. Kid-friendliness: There is a childrens menu and children are given pencils to draw with.

Last night, we were a group of over 60 people gathering for the retirement of my boss and we had an exceptional night! Started with the amazing collaboration with Santino and Chris for the preparation of the event and throughout the night. They were a text or call away for my questions, making the planning as easy as can be! For us, this was an absolute success. Chris even came for the night although it was his day off. The place is very clean and spacious. I am so glad we chose Barbie s Dorval for the event and will book for future events for sure! The small attentions provided all night made the difference. Santino made sure my glass was full, thinking of me when I didn t have the time. This was not left unnoticed. There was no hiccups at all and anyone planning an event of this type knows how crucial it is to have it as smooth as can be. They also took care of our VIP flawlessly. Now, the food! It was AMAZING! Filet mignon was a medium rare on every plates! The salmon was delicious. Same for the chicken and pizza! The sides were great and well seasoned! I wish I had taken pictures of the food!! Once again Thank you for everything! 10/10
I ordered the smoke meat platter which comes with fries and cold slaw. $25. Portion of meat was small, dried out and chewy like it had been reheated or microwaved. I was so disappointed because I was visiting from Nova Scotia and I used to eat there for years before the restaurant was renovated. The smoked meat was to die for back then. Not anymore. Don t waste your money on that item. I won t go back there

My husband and I moved out of Montreal 2 1/2 years ago. When we lived here in Lachine ( next to Dorval) we often stopped at Barbies for lunch since it was a close drive to my husband s work and to my work. It was always satisfying, not a high-end restaurant Just a great place for lunch with decent food & decent prices. However, it has changed hands and is probably one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten at, I wish that I had taken a picture of my very pathetic Greek salad It was basically a plate of lettuce with a few Julian pieces of tomato, green pepper and red pepper, a couple of olives, and a couple of very thin pieces of feta cheese. The worst Greek salad I ve ever had. My friend had fish and chips and it followed the same path, probably the worst fish and chips ever, very greasy batter with a Razor thin piece of fish inside. The old Barbies has gone and been replaced by an expensive Low quality franchise. I feel it is only fair to add, that we did make a complaint about the salad and they did deduct the price from our bill. Last visit to Barbies
Arrived at 8:10 told us to hurry up because kitchen closed at 9:00 Ordered right away then we wanted wine, told us only by the glass because drinking a whole bottle would be too long talk about great service forget about ordering dessert at this point. I had 1/2 rack of rib it was more like 1/4 rack of rib .told the server about how small they were she said well that s the size for the price you are paying unbelievable to get someone answering like that Never going back there again

We had an exceptional experience today for Mothers Day. We ate very well, the portions were generous and everything was fresh and delicious. We ordered pizza, burger, steak burger, Greek chicken skewers. Recommended 100%. The tropical sangria was delicious and came with a generous portion of the complimentary nachos. For dessert they recommended the tiramisu which was really perfect and to finish our meal we had magnificent strawberry mimosas. Of course I will go back.
Awful experience! went there to celebrate mothers day with my wife and kids... to begin with, no kids promo that day, because it was going to be full... of course it was not full at all, they failed to advertise this change anywere or at least mention it when making the reservation... then food was not good at all... been at Barbies at Mirabel ant that is a very good place but not the Dorval one. To finish, the waitress asked us to take the bill because they were waiting for a lot of customers after us and she didnt want them to wait... What? my kids were eating their dessert and this lady wanted us to pay and go asap?... This is by far the worst restaurant Ive ever visited in Montreal. Needless to say, we wont be going back there ever.

Short visit after busy hours so we had great service. And we were served in record time. Very good portion however the seafood in the casserole lacked a little freshness (small aftertaste) of old seafood, but the rest was excellent. Burger cooked to perfection. Good atmosphere even on the bar side and not too noisy. Parking: The parking lot is not very large and several businesses in the same location. So parking can become difficult depending on the hours.
I regularly visit this establishment, but today will be my last I asked the waitress why my dish contained less than half of what it usually served she told the manager and he told her to tell me that he saw my dish and it was fine he didn t even bother to come talk to me! Last time I or my co-workers, spend a dime in that establishment. Bad decision, avoiding me, Mister manager.

The food was cold, and I found a hair in my order. I mentioned this to the waitress, but she told me it was normal and that regular customers enjoyed finding hair in their orders in a gloomy atmosphere with questionable staff members. I will not be returning; this is a place to avoid at all costs.

For the fans of the old Barbies it s back with many of the discounts available but the food is very different . Old Barbies was a greasy spoon style with huge plates filled with fresh cut fries and salad to fill you up to the max . The new version is more upscale in design , atmosphere and food . My wife had a smoked meat pizza which was tasty but lacked cheese and toppings . I had chicken souvlaki plate which was also tasty but I kind of miss the fries, rice and salad overflow of the old version . What made our night was great service by Santino . Overall it s a good deal with lots of choices . I d give it another shot and try perhaps a burger .

The reopening has seen a BIG upgrade in quality since the earlier days. I live nearby and I havent been here as often pre-Covid as I have now. Very friendly staff, who now recognize me as a regular. Tried different foods and everything generally felt fresh and tasty. Previously everything was serviceable at best, but now, Ill show up by myself, of my own free will, because of how good the food is. Convenient location, great food, nice drinks, and pleasant service from both familiar and new staff.

Went to Barbies for the first time, the server was nice but the service was extremely slow, even though the restaurant was empty and there were only 3-4 tables in the servers section. When we got there, we sat for about 5-10 minutes before the server came to see us. Afterwards, getting the food was pretty fast but once we were done with our food, we sat with our dirty plates in front of us for around 20 minutes, if not more, while the server walked by us a bunch of times, and the busser as well.

Bad service, asked for water, and never got it. I went to my vehicle to get my emergency water I keep in my vehicle. I ate a very sad looking smoke meat. Meat was folded to look larger than it was. Fries came in a shot glass. 20$ sandwich.

We went to Barbies Resto Bar Grill in Dorval. We had a discount coupon and the owner said he couldnt take it since it was a holiday, with a haughty air. He said hes the boss, hes the one who decides. We had nachos which were too toasted and a pizza whose crust was overcooked almost hard.

We ve been going to the old Barbie s in Dorval since my grandchildren were wee ones; now aged 20 and 17. Loved it then and now love it even more. Chris and his partner (sorry his name eludes me right now) are the amazing owners of this fabulous, newly renovated restaurant where they have just about anything and everything on the menu. The food is excellent, generous portions, staff couldn t be friendlier & efficient and the whole restaurant speaks of excellent food, excellent staff and last, but not least, immaculate cleanliness. Take a ride down Bouchard Blvd. in Dorval and you will find yourself at a wonderful restaurant, with delicious food and the nicest wait staff ever. You re sure to come out with a full, satisfied tummy. And don t forget to post your positive experience when said and done. I Barbie s!!!

Ordered something for dinner but was really not satisfied with the meal served. The waitress asked me if everything was alright and when I told her that I was disappointed with my meal she immediately sent the manager. He was very kind and attentive and went above and beyond to make things better. Not only did he compt my meal but even offered my a dessert on the house. I was very surprised and pleased. Was not expecting this. I offered to pay my bill but he insisted. Thank you. You made a not so great experience good again. I will come back.

In general, very good! The place has been very well renovated, beautiful benches and the bar section very welcoming. Very good food and big portions. Unfortunately, there is a shortage of staff everywhere and it is felt. Its a shame . Be patient. I recommend bringing a coat: the air conditioning is freezing and directly on our heads no matter where we sit. I was frozen. Otherwise, a very pleasant evening!

Arrived at the restaurant at 11h30 and expected to be able to order lunch. But to my surprise they serve breakfast till moon. So ordered an omelet which was very good, however I was not expecting to eat breakfast.

We recently had a retirement party, with about 45 people. We have gone to other restaurants with about 20-25 people. And other restaurants did not meet the excellence of this restaurant. The food was all delicious and prepared well and served hot. The set menu had a good variety, along with soup or salad and dessert with hot beverage. The price was very reasonable(especially during these days, with very high food prices). The staff worked together, like a well oiled machine. Always courteous and polite. Anything we asked for, was given right away. We never needed to ask for water, they would bring it by, from time to time. Which is good with a large group. They knew when to wait for us to honour the guest and give gifts and when to start serving us. I already knew that this was a good restaurant to go with family and friends. And now, as you can see, with such a great experience, I would not hesitate to go there with a large group. Vegetarian options: There seemed to many options Parking: Handicap parking outside restaurant Wheelchair accessibility: We had two people with walking aids and they did not have any difficulties. Every thing is on one floor.
My wife told me about this place and so we decided to go in, we just got back from Vancouver and we were looking for something new, we got there late it was close to closing time they told us to come in and we enjoyed our supper it was very welcoming the staff was great service was great the food was delicious, we will stop in again. I placed an order for pick up when I arrived I was left standing at the door for 10 minutes, I had walk I to the kitchen and say hello before I was greeted and served. My order was a club sandwich with two drinks, my total came to $40. I was in such in a hurry and overly annoyed so I tapped my card and left only realizing the amount when I got home. I then proceeded to call the restaurant and inquire why it was $40 for a club sandwich and two drinks and I was met over the phone with attitude and a condescending tone. Not to mention the food was mediocre at best, I mean if you are going to charge those prices at least give me a great club sandwich . Needless to say it was first and definitely last time ever eating there

I ve been coming here for many years though not lately as I live in Europe But I came this morning as I was passing by I had a Great breakfast. The portions are plentiful, the atmosphere is very nice, and the waitress Melanie was absolutely exquisite polite, efficient and very helpful! So happy to see that Barbies has kept their high standard

We had a group of 20 show up for a family gathering. Our server (Guillermo?) was super friendly, funny and accommodating. Great atmosphere, great food and tons of laughs. My new favorite place anytime I pass through Maschouche!
