413 Av. Bourke, Dorval, QC H9S 3W8, Canada
Large, relaxed venue for Thai & Sichuan classics such as curries & rice dishes, plus wine.
So good!!! I loved the general tao cause it was not too sweet but my husband didn’t like it as much because he found it didn’t taste enough. He loved the beef broccoli though.
This place has THE BEST GENERAL TAO I have ever has! The pieces are generous and made of chicken breast. Get the lunch special! It's also BYOW!
It used to be good. But I dont know if its because staff has changed or they cut on product to save money.. but the few plates I used to love arent good anymore. When you asķ a special request, they forget or dont follow instructions. They are often rude. Sometimes you have to wait more than an hour for your plate, even if take out. No delivery, even with apps. Parking is usually full. I wish they could be like they used to be. And with delivery.
Over many visits, I have had the pleasure to try their tom yum soup, mango and papaya salads, green and red curries, lemon chicken and fried rice. I have always been impressed by the quality of their ingredients and the depth of flavors for each of those dishes. It's also not everywhere in MTL that I've been served properly cooked glutinous rice with my curry. Definitely would eat again.
The FOOD is very GOOD but the guy at the register seemed apathetic towards our patronage MANGO SALAD 4/5: It's GOOD but needs a bit MORE flavour than onion Tom Kha 5/5: DeLicious!! Nice balance of flavours, spiciness, AND consistency PAD THAI: 4/5: Nice heat to it, but needs MORE vegetables Green Curry 4/5: Great flavour AND texture, the portion needs to be larger for the price
Excellent Restaurant and excellent service, we ordered many different entrees and many different mains and the were delicious.
I've been to this restaurant a number of times with a decent sized group and never had an issue. The food always tastes good and the staff is friendly. I just went a few days ago and I was fully impressed with the lunch service. Between the point we sat down till when we left was 30 mins. Considering myself and most people only have an hour for lunch this is great. They took our order right away and it came within 8-10mins. Can't argue with that or the price you'd be paying right around $20 for a full meal. You can't really beat that. Thanks for the great experience.
I usually don’t give bad reviews, but I have chest pain and can’t stop coughing after eating here. Too much MSG in the food that my body can’t take it. The service was unbelievably slow also.
Excellent Value for Money! Well come back.
Very good and generous portions. I recommend it
Delicious food !
Great place to dine Food is excellent at a very reasonable price. Only issue is , there is very limited parking
Food is good but they cant get an order together...
The service is not very good, and the food is not much special.
Love this place good food for the price keep.up the good work
Amazing place and very affordable. Plus you can bring your own wine.
Great service & food. Price is good!
Great food, the coconut soup is fantastic (its an appetizer). I had the Vermicelli as a main, it was fantastic and filled with chicken and veggies.
The food was good. Every dish had a nice blend of aroma and mouthfeel. Enjoyed it very much.
My favorite Asian restaurant
Incredible value for the money. Its byob which is great.
Enjoy getting takeout from here, portions are plentiful and tasty. A great option in the area for Asian flavors.
Good little restaurant, food is decent and fresh, good atmosphere and not too noisy. The service is good and continuous. Parking can sometimes be difficult depending on traffic. The beef with orange was good, the general tao lacked a little flavor. The fried dumplings are overcooked and hard. Parking: There are 3 restaurants and only 1 small parking lot, so ease will depend on traffic.
Prices are a little high, BUT they serve the best Chinese food between downtown Montreal and Ste-Annes, maybe even all the way to Ottawa before you find better. And maybe not even then!?
Pretty chill but personally, I feel that its a little basic. Food was nice (no pic sadly) among other things, but a relatively basic establishment. Food
I m happy they took my order at closing hour tonight but the food wasn t up to par with the rating. Pad Thai was dry/wong tong and peanut butter dumplings were missing flavour and I paid almost 80$.
Very good and the service is perfect
Average asian style eatery. Service was slow, but it was a busy Saturday evening. $15 for just a plate of sautéed vegetables is too much. There is vast competition in this type of cuisine. Im not in a rush to return here anytime soon. We didnt feel that we got bang for our buck.
I was very disappointed with this restaurant. My chicken in peanut sauce was bland. Service was very slow. Be prepared to wait close to an hour for your main course. A small bowl of rice is not included. Someone at our table was charged $15 for a small portion of sautéed vegetables. I wont be going back.
The soups are good but NEVER hot.
Super nice place to taste this oriental cuisine. Impeccable service and friendly waiters. The restaurants cleanliness and decor mean that we return there often!! Parking: Ample room for parking
Busy night...it was mothers day weekend! It was a bit long to receive our food, also I would have preferred a little bit more of the peanut butter sauce on the dumplings...but other than that all was great.
Great food at reasonable prices. Friendly and courteous staff. Parking: Adequate parking in front of the restaurant.
Very nice evening, ate very good but portion not very generous,
Our family has been longtime fans of Emeraude de Bangkok. Quality of food has always been excellent. Definitely recommend the soups, the peanut butter dumplings and the seasame beef!
Good value for money. However, we were disappointed because we were expecting Thai food but it was much more Chinese than Thai. Very good sesame beef. Not very spicy starters.
Ordered for takeout. The food was good. When I went to pickup my order and pay, the server pressured me to give him at least 15% tip. He remarked 15%, 20%, or 30% please. Made me feel very uncomfortable.
Delicious with reason prices
Very good every time
Always great!!
There is one waiter old , he looks like angry put the plates in the table but he mixes the plate its dont belong the person after that we have to fix our plates.
Food was good but I wouldnt call it the best. Portions could have been larger.
I ordered for pickup, once we arrived home we realized they had forgotten the garlic shrimp which was over 20$. They insisted we needed to drive back to the restaurant rather than have them delivered to us. I asked for that item to be given to us for free since it posed a major inconvenience, a 15 minute drive each way, but they vehemently refused and offered nothing but a lazy apology as if somehow their mistake was my fault. By the time we picked up the garlic shrimp, the rest of the food was cold, something I mentioned would happen, but the workers could not be bothered by this at all. When asked to speak to the manager, I was shown the door. Terrible way of doing business. For the cost of 8 shrimp you have lost a customer forever.
Delicious and well priced food. Great menu choices. Nice relaxed atmosphere. I would definately come again
Delicious
This is my go to affordable take out szechuan restaurant. The general Tao is good, the sesame chicken is even better, and the chicken fried rice is nice. We prefer takout over eating in. The service is good, and you can byob (depanneur right next door if you want a beer with your meal). The ambiance is OK, the inside is a little run down. Parking is difficult at meal time hours, there simply isnt enough space for the strip mall. Parking: Not enough space during peak times.
I ordet general tao to take away I opened the box at work and see shrimp and veggies, doesnt smell good and have bad taste
It was a group meal, and as always, the food and service was super
I took my meet up group here a month ago we were 26 people. Everyone was super happy with their meal. The plates were full, hit, and plentiful. Service in the slow side, but expected with a large group. Plus the restaurant was full. We will be back.
Very clean & affordable! Food is pretty good! friendly service! On Saturday was a full house, a little noisy, but will definitely go back!
Very good! But the restaurant closes at 9 p.m. on Saturdays... we got kicked out! Too bad.. But the food was excellent
Great soup and General Tao Table d hôte.
Good Chinese food with efficient service at a very reasonable speed. The dinner for two was a decent price ($53 for two) and came with a soup, 2 appetizers, two mains, one veggie and rice. Soup was great, imperial rolls and peanut butter dumplings were both tasty and the veggies, rice, crispy beef and General Tao Chicken were all spot on. Nice touch is the resto is BYOB! Will be back. Parking: Parking lot is not huge, but, you can park on the nearby streets.
I absolutely love this restaurant!!! Great food, great service, great prices, and its a BYOB. I would highly recommend reserving if you plan on going during the weekend as it can get very busy. I love thay they do not rush you, even if its past their closing time. Vegetarian options: They have quite a few vegetarian options and even some vegan options Parking: Its located in a strip mall so you can park in the parking lot or on the street Kid-friendliness: Theyre very welcoming and friendly towards kids
The food is usually ready at the time they say it will be. Ive always enjoyed the meal. I usually order the fish in black bean sauce, won ton soup, imperial rolls and steamed rice. Always lots of fish in the meal. The servings are ample, usually enough for two meals Parking: Ive never had a problem parking in the parking lot or on the street
The best sesame beef in the west! The setting is also very pleasant, the staff friendly if they are not overwhelmed. The parking lot, however, is ridiculously too small for the traffic.
Great place.Great food. Friendly service.
Best Thai/Chinese food no joke. Everything super delicious.
Do take out regularly however every other time I call you can t get through unless you try calling for 20 mins . I think they need a new system to place orders because people will just end up going elsewhere if they can t get through.
They had open before their advertised hours, allowed me to get a late, very quick lunch while in a hurry. Should ve grabbed the wonton soup with the Beef Eggplant (9)
Great local Asian restaurant. Very reasonable prices at lunch.
Fantastic!!
Very good, but also very long... We are regular customers because of the good cuisine and competitive prices, especially if we choose the table dhôte for two. Since the pandemic, however, the restaurant seems to be prioritizing takeout orders, likely paying more for them. During our last visit (a Sunday evening) after an hour and a half the dirty dishes from our starters were still on our table. During this time I saw the bags of take-out orders coming out one after the other. We expressed our impatience and the service sped up. It is therefore now necessary to allow 2 and a half hours at peak times. We dont know if we will return.
We chose the menu for 2. 2 soup choices, 2 starter choices, 1 vegetable choice and 2 main course choices. Most of the dishes were quite good, a little disappointed with the ravioli because it had almost no stuffing. The sautéed vegetables were cooked perfectly, general tao, sautéed beef with broccoli delicious.
Magnificent! Excellent attention! Exquisite food! Nice decoration! Everything impeccable!
My husband and I go there often enough even if it is a bit pricey, however this time there was an ant in hubbys soup. There was no OMG I am so sorry, the guy just took the bowl and pretty sure he brought the same bowl back minus the ant. When they brought my bill, I told the guy you know there was an ant in the soup, he acted all surprised vlvut again no apology. All they gave us as a token of good gesture, they minused the $3.50 for the soup. Needless to say will not be visiting this establishment any time soon
the lunch menu (2 soups of your choice, roll, main course) only gives 3 choices of non-spicy dishes for my guests who are not initiated into Asian cuisine. Unoriginal side dishes, no more fried spinach. no fresh coriander please with the green curry. a little disappointed this time. Parking: almost in front of the restaurant door, for 2 cars, even at 12:30 p.m. this Thursday.
Food really good. Coud use some renovations
Best Szechwan ever! Kid-friendliness: My 15 year old loved this place Food : 5/5 |
The service was fast and efficient though one server was super abrupt....almost rude. However the portions and the speed were amazing. Flavourful and healthy feeling. I willmmention we had the lunch menu so a la carte may differ. It appeared to be bring your own booze.
Quick service, the mango salad is delicious! The General Tao chicken was very crispy and tasty.
Five people each ordered appetizer and main and split them. Hot and sour soup was almost tasteless. Other appetizers were okay. Sesame beef, General Tao were good. Two curries were short on meat.
Menu for 2: tasty Tom yum soup, several kinds of vegetables. No coconut milk, and oddly textured chicken, probably reconstituted. Starters: Terrible fried squid: dried out, in lots of very crispy batter. Shrimp Imperial Rolls: Just one shrimp, undeveined, rolled in roll dough. Dry, not at all interesting. General tao chicken not bad, but sauce a little too viscous, elastic, and not at all spicy. Sesame beef: pieces of beef in batter, like general tao. Sauce just sweet, no taste of sesame except the seeds in too large quantities. Ugh. At the next table: the peanut dumpling and broccoli beef look good. We go back for the tom yum, maybe the tao. Service: cold, and a waitress smells strongly of cigarettes, which makes me feel sick every time she passes the restaurant, even if she is far away.
Always very good, very varied menu.
My wife and I have dined at Emeraude de Bangkok many times over the years. Our most recent experience a couple of days ago will be our last. We ordered our usual dinner for two. Her Tom Yum soup was lacking its usual chunks of fish and/or a shrimp or two. My hot and sour soup was tepid. The Hunan dumplings were cold inside, but to be fair the crispy calamari were delicious. The spicy vegetables were hot, tasty, and garlicky except for the beans, which were cold. I don t know how they managed that. The General Tao chicken and the sesame beef were both tepid and lacking sauces. The service, if such it may be described, was atrocious. The sour-faced and mute waiter practically threw the plates down. I had to call out loudly above the noise to get a waitress with a water jug to notice us and refill our glasses. At no time was there an inquiry as to how the food was. I did not leave a tip. As I backed out of my parking spot, the now very vocal waiter chased us down yelling, You forgot to leave a tip! When he reached my window I told him there was a reason for that the food was cold and the service wasn t deserving of the name. He raised his fist and shouted, I don t ever want to see you again! I assured him that would not be a problem. Parking: There is some sort of weird electrical interference which prevents my Volvo remote control from working - I have to lock and unlock with the key. Has been true for years near Emeraude but not near Barbies.
nice discovery this evening... bring your wine... good, generous and delicious plate
Fast service, food was good. I will be back...often
Fast service and the food is good.
Amazing Food and great Service! Quality + Fresh + Price = WOW Long time customer. You can not miss Food : 5/5
Good value for money. We had the meal for two which offered a nice variety.
Food served (Fried squid and Pad Thai with shrimp) very good. The waiter (owner I think) very cold, no smile and no interest in the customers.
Lovely restaurant located in Dorval. Food was hot and delicious.
Bland food, chicken used is a by-product with fillers
Nice welcome, good service, attentive, very good!
Ive been going there for several years. Excellent!
Yummy Tum Yum!
Attentive and warm staff. Delicious food!
Great food
Singapore noodles and general tao are classics
Fair Good service, decent food but the meat is unfortunately of poor quality
Best food and good dine in experience
Very beautiful plates and the meals are excellent. Very nice warm atmosphere. Very courteous staff.
Average food and uncoordinated service.
From the imperial rolls to the entrees, everything is delicious. I order often and am always amazed at the quality and tastiness. Highly recommend.
Great food at a good price! Reserve your table! Best in town
Everything was super fresh, extremely tasty and not overpowering flavor.
Apparently kosher-friendly. Food choices therefore limited. Enjoyable
Having been to a few Thai restaurants in the area this is by far one of the most authentic in the West Island.
Food was amazing
Tasty thai and schezuan dishes, not too salty ! We tried the pad thai chicken (kids loved it), the combo menu for 2 (2 soups/2 appetizers/1 veggie dish/2 main dishes)n and added extra 2 dishes. The main dishes were pepper and salth shrimp, orange beef, yellow curry and chicken veggie dish.
As it being the first time coming to this restaurant, they offer a great special for 2 people! 50$ for 2! The service was a little slow, because they had a full house. However, the food was grade A ! Would recommend it for a nice Asian style resto Je me souviens
Excellent! Dishes cooked as you go, very fresh! Bring your own wine!
Happening atmosphere lots going on the sizzler to the table next to us caught alot of attention !! Delightful menu the combo for 2 was great to try new things the sesame chicken was one of a kind DELICIOUS sorry no photos this time
Parking: Free, plenty
We were extremely surprised by the quality of the food, specially since their clientele are mostly Caucasian. We were 8 Chinese tourists looking for an alternative to fast food and we found a gem Vegetarian options: They did have just vegetables in their menu Parking: Mall parking was good Kid-friendliness: Staff are very friendly
So delicious and fresh! Superior quality food and the way it is prepared! Must experience!
Outrageous wait time, forced tip, and food was only decent. Will never come again.
The Won Ton soup and the crispy noodles were really flavorful
Always have a pleasant lunch there. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Good food at a great price Love it
18$for general Tao....no rice just chicken ridiculous
Tasty and fast service !
You want to eat a really good and inexpensive Thai meal, plus bring your own wine. Truly one of the best in Quebec with great simplicity but delicious meals.
The food was AMAZING I have 0 complaints I love Asian food with a passion!! I went with my in laws and all 8 of us rated a 10/10!!! We recommend for a family dinner!
Worst restaurant ever, bad behaviour, pressurized for tipping, super slow service
My life s worst service is in a restaurant. Soup and crispy noodles were rubbish. When I asked for some complimentary sauce, I was coldly told that we don t have any sauce. And the worst part is we were pressurized to pay 15% tip even though the service was super slow. We finished a game of ludo before we got the food. And when we declined to pay the 15% tip, we were told to not come to the restaurant again.
Always excellent food
Food is basic, the green curry beef was sweet and not at all spicy, very noisy on a Saturday night, waiters were on the go looked like they could use a dose of Prozac. It was ok for a night out with friends but youll have a difficult time having a conversation. Pretty average.
Good food and generous portions. The lunch menu offers great variety. The service was a bit rushed but polite. I would certainly go back. Parking: Lots of parking.
A crowded Friday night visiting, super warm and friendly lady server. We ordered plenty of plates, from what we ordered I recommend mango salad and Pad Thai, curry was ordinary as the lemon shrimp. As Asian I have to admit I might be picky on taste of Asian food.
Great food, well priced
Situated in a small strip mall which initially doesn t give a diner the right Ambiance to the wonderful meal that will be enjoyed inside. It s a BYOB establishment and we opted for a light white since we were not going to have beef or pasta s in tomato sauces. We arrived 15 minutes early which was a good thing we did as the lot was full as we re many of the streets around the mall. After two (2) drive arounds we returned to the mall and waited about 10 minutes for other diners to come out so we could obtain parking spot. We walked into the restaurant 5 minutes before our reserved time and were promptly seated. One of the waiters stood by while we sat and immediately poured us water; provided us with wine glasses and proceeded to open our wine bottle. Very Good Service. As it was out 1st time dining here we asked the waiter to give us some time to review the menu. He told us to simply put up a hand when we wanted to order and he or one of his colleagues would come by to take our order. So by this we knew they all worked together to ensure diners were served and serviced well and promptly. We opted to order from the A La Carte side of the menu as we wanted to have some dishes that were not in the Special they offer. Hot and Sour Soups were fine but could have been a bit hotter in temperature. Dumplings in Peanut Butter Sauce were Hot (temperature) and tasty but just a bit Al Dente to one of our friend s taste. For the Mains we ordered. General Tao s which was really hot (temperature) and excellently prepared. The Shrimp with Black Pepper was excellent and very fresh. The Eggplant Dish was OUTSTANDING. The fourth dish we ordered was a Noodle Dish with Chicken and Vegetables that was also served hot (temperature) and was very tasty. Two (2) orders of steamed rice were sufficient for the four (4) of us. We poured our own wine as needed but the waiters were always around to refill our water glasses. We were all very impressed by the Food & Service and will definitely return.
Food not very good service not good rush rush we sat down received menu 2 minutes waiter asking for our order restaurant empty Food no taste last bite we received bill and card machine to pay not friendly
Spicy dishes were not that spicy. Portions are generous. Asian food is usually very tasty, flavourful and here it was just bland. Very noisy place not much ambiance.
Good portions for lunch with reasonable prices. Perfect takeout option.
Went for take out order. Soups were placed at the bottom the bag, under all the heavy plates. Needless to say, the containers couldnt stand the weight and all the broth spilled out. There was no plum sauce for our egg rolls, the rest of the food was quite bland, the spicy dishes werent spicy. For the price we paid (90$) i was greatly disappointed.
Interior looks shabby and run down. Ate here once and was violently ill the next day. Never again.
Take out service was excellent order was perfect hot and well prepared the best chinese food Ive had in a long time. Thank you!
So happy to have found this Chinese restaurant! The food is delicious and the people are nice! I definitely recommend this restaurant.
The best wonton soup and peanut butter dumplings
This food is good, the service (pickup) is outstanding, and the price is hard to beat from my previous favorite place (which closed two years ago).
just got takeout from here for the first time. the staff were super helpful on the phone (i had 100 questions about veg options) and lovely in person. food was delicious, we will be back.
Dissapointed with General Tao chicken should have taken Thai stir fries
One of our fav Thai places! Always good! We live it !
Excellent food and great prices
Excellent food, courteous service, they make our experience exceptional.
Great food, good quality, lots of choices on the menu. Nice restaurant, clean. Professional staff.
Excellent! I recommend it
Good service, exact order for take out, hot and tasty.
Always excellent
Nice atmosphere, good service and excellent food
Great service, good quality food, affordable, very quick and polite staff. Very clean restaurant.
Very good food. Service was prompt and friendly. Disappointed that the restaurant discriminates against the unvaccinated.
Not sure where I can find better General Tao around. Theirs was tasty and had a nice spicy touch
Best Thai & Chinese food!! Worth the trip!!
Good restaurant where you can bring your own wine. Price quality ok. Table dhote with lots of choice. Courteous staff. Important downside for me, too intense lighting which gives an RPA cafeteria appearance. Reason why I will not return, because with this cafeteria lighting, in short no atmosphere. Too bad, good food all the same.
Good service,
Great lunch specials, fresh and tasty, wonderful service.
The food here if phenomenal
Your restaurant and your dishes were perfect. Thank you for this great meal!
Best Sesame Beef ever. General Tao is not bad.
we order some take out and weve been told 45-1h wait. So we show up 1h our later and we are told 5 - 10 more minutes.
Nevermind takeout. You come for a takeout, they will make you wait 30-45 min. If you call in advance.. they say 45min. You come 45min-1h later.. still isnt ready. They then ask you to wait another 10min. But only to wait 20min. 1:20min to get a meal that takes 5-10min usually?? You come when theres no people. Wanna seat in particular ? They wont let you saying people reserved this seat. So you ask for the seat next to it. They say its reserved.. finally you have to get a seat you dont feel confortable.. to finish your meal and realized that no one ever came on those reserved seat you could of take all along. Plus now.. they charge if you ask sauce on the side. Who loves to eat their meal soggy at home?
Nice cozy place
A little bit expensive but the food quality is outstanding. Decoration in the plates amazed the kids! Their general tao chicken is very good and crispy. Simply delicious!
Excellent restaurant the food always so good
Great food, good location not far from airport. No drinks though its a BYOB and wine. Service was ok.
We ordered for the second time and, like the first order, everything was delicious and very high quality. We have found our go-to place and cannot wait to explore more of the menu. Highly suggest this place for a quality meal.
I love the food here but the reason I gave them 2 stars is because their portion has reduced and the price increased since Ive been getting take out during the pandemic. For example your shrimp fried rice on the website site says $12.50 but you charged us $13.50, your crispy duck says $21.50, but you charged $22.50. When we used to dine in the portion was more, but each time you we do a take out the portion keeps reducing more and more.... Why? And I dont get how you calculate your 10% discount for pick ups.
Their menu is expansive, but the food is ok, mediocre. Service is a little slow, but it was busy when I was there; so it was somewhat expected. The restaurant is clean at least, and the staff are friendly.
Best chinese in the area
Delicious great food and very clean restaurant
Great food, friendly staff, easy take out, ordered but phone, ready on time for pickup.
Very good
Its always yummy
