This neon-lit throwback known for poutine & orange juice also serves pizza & other dinner fare.
We tried their Poutine after hearing that this was the original restaurant that invented it. The sauce/gravy is sweet and the curd doesn’t squeak like curd normally does. The curd does however have a nice flavour. I’m pretty sure the fries are frozen in a bag and not fresh cut. We ordered the large vegetarian and the portion size was ok for two. The waitress was friendly. Overall, I’d say that they’re riding on the inventor story. We’ve had better Poutine at several other restaurants elsewhere.
Great poutine but there are better ones out there (the gravy was a touch too sweet). Lovely service and very vibrant and colourful decor.
Had dinner with three kids after a long day of driving. Our waitress Caroline was completely accommodating to our monolingual ways, and really nice to the kids. Fish and chips were great... Cotes levees poutine (braised ribs poutine) was better than any poutine I've had in Montreal.
This is the place where you can find the original POUTINE, the national dish of Canada 🇨🇦. We try the original with the chesse underneath and the trio (to try a bit of 3 choices). And also the original orange juice, very juicy! Remember to choose one of the two sauces, you can also take both. Feeling the ambience of the 50s with photos of celebrities and maybe yours as well. Don’t forget you’re in the Quebec so you gotta speak up clearly and practice parlez français!!!
Only fitting to try poutine for the first time at the site of its invention. I don't completely understand the dish's popularity but I think the version Roy Jucep served was well made and I enjoyed trying it. Burgers were eh. Though the poutine was very rich, I'm glad I made room at the end to try the poutine dessert because that was the absolute highlight of the meal. I loved the French toast-like texture of the churro fries. Super cute diner atmosphere
The food was good but not more. The traditional poutine sauce is a bit sweet. it depends if you like that. The hot dog was a massive letdown. The atmosphere was great. And we got to meet the lady who invented poutine.
Great Poutine! Was it the best? Can’t say but it was fun to enjoy a dish were it all started! Orange juice was great. The lady working there was nice and very friendly but unfortunately couldn’t communicate in English; we still managed to order our food.
The place that invented poutine. They have hollandaise-type poutine for breakfast which is delicious but the real star is the classic and authentic poutines. The classic version has the curds under the fries instead of on top. The orange juice is delicious too and a great compliment to the heavy poutine.
Excellent service and very fast. The poutine sauce is very sweet, less my preference.
As good as in the old days. I even forgot that it was so beautiful inside.
Lots of choices of poutine. Very good price.
Best poutine, generous portions!
Really nice restaurant. Relax and the people are friendly!
There were 8 of us and the portions were very generous. The total bill very reasonable. My guests were delighted
Putin 7/10 Service 9/10
The decor is absolutely perfectly retro .Poutine trio tested and loved. The sauce is sweeter than I prefer but still delicious. Smiling and friendly waitresses. I also breastfed my baby on site without a shawl; happy to tell you that no judgment was made and no demand to cover was made by staff or customers. N.B. For breastfeeding mothers, if baby is not slender and/or you have magnificent curves to envy , I advise you to choose a chair instead of a bench because they are rather narrow to carry out this activity comfortably .
Weve been going back there a few times, and I personally find that the quality of the dishes has changed... It still remains a beautiful, warm and welcoming place
Enormous selection of poutine, had Cajun and the French one (pepper sauce). They were delicious. A lot of people mention that the sauce is sweet but it might be because they just took the authentic sauce which is sweet, you have to ask for the brown sauce which is the actual original one. Anyway, the poutine is up there with the best of them.
Very delicious
The best poutine in Quebec.
Good service
If we would have just tasted poutine and jucep juice it would have been 5 stars out of 5 but we tried soufflé pancakes and were a little disappointed because there were some that were overcooked and too hard to bite, we didnt even think about it. the coupe... in short if we pass through the region we will return there with a smile
Stunning
Quadruple food poisoning proven by analysis. Mpaq advised...lets investigate. Were talking about eggs, potatoes, toast and coffee. Not the first time according to the mpaq investigator. Last time for us.
We know no French but they were very friendly and busy.
Absolutely delicious, my go-to every time Im in the province! Staff is friendly, food comes quickly and food is perfect, very tasty! A bit pricey but worth it!
Wow the poutines are huge and extra delicious!!! We will definitely go back Beautiful classic restaurant that invented poutine
The retro atmosphere is very charming. Unfortunately, I dont know if the cooking was bad but my potatoes were poorly cooked and the sauce tasted like water. Very disappointed with this well-reviewed place.
I really like going to eat with my family at Jucep. Several different meals. If you want to eat spaghetti or poutine, this is your place. Everything is super good and affordable.
Generous portion! Beautiful presentation of the plates. My partner and I didnt like their poutine sauce, a bit sweet. We liked the photos on the walls and the choices on the daily menu. Dietary restrictions: Choice of Keto poutine.
Maybe I had my expectations too high but at least it was hot.
Super brunch!
The best poutine in Quebec and its the original
Food was very underwhelming and the inside wasnt air conditioned enough. Service was a little friendly but our waitress disappeared for long stretches of time. Underwhelming and was expecting better. The food itself wasnt particularly good, or bad. Average at best. Edible but nothing of the three dishes we ordered was worth eating or coming back for. Bummer.
They call themselves the inventors of poutine and very disappointed, I have tasted poutines all over Quebec and believe me there are a lot of places which firstly make better dishes at better prices and also which are much more humble in their sales food! I wont go back and by the way the best poutine in Quebec is three pistoles at the cantine damour, its worth the detour!!
Excellent poutine, their homemade sauce is worth trying.
Perhaps the inventor of poutine... But its the worst poutine Ive eaten in Quebec. The sauce tasted sweet with a tomato aftertaste?? Much too expensive $16 for a regular one. We had a wait time of 25 minutes for 3 poutines and we were the only customers at the counter to bring them. The crumbled cheese was not good and all melted. Very disappointed... I dont understand the comments with 3 stars and more. We even had to throw away half of our poutines.
This restaurant with its old decor offers exceptional poutine. Even though Im not a big fan of poutine, I finished my plate with enthusiasm. The fries were perfectly crispy, the sauce delicious, and the cheese melted to perfection. The nostalgic atmosphere adds to the charm of the place. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for quality poutine. A real favorite, even for skeptics like me! Vegetarian options: Written on the menu Dietary restrictions: Written on the menu Parking: Free parking around the restaurant Kid-friendliness: Bench
I ordered the mini poutine with brown gravy and it was VERY good! I loved the canteen style fries which, to my taste, had a very pleasant sweet aftertaste in the mouth! The cheese was fresh. The quantity was perfect! I also really liked the atmosphere and the retro decor of the restaurant! I recommend! :-)
Truly an excellent restaurant and canteen. Good portion, reasonable price.
Always very good
The poutine is really not the best I have eaten but the most serious thing is the food poisoning that I had afterwards, a terrible experience. I absolutely do not recommend this place
A priori the invention of poutine was here. You have to try it, especially if you are very hungry Friendly service, 60s room.
Good poutine
The best poutine
Try the special Jucep pizza !
Beware! During my journey, I ate poutine, but I have never tasted anything like it. The Authentique poutine sauce was excessively sweet and tomatoy. Although the brown sauce option is available, we were not informed of it either by the menu or the waitress. Ultimately, we found that the price seemed a bit excessive; $20 per person for poutine and iced tea
Parking: Trop serré Food
Poutine de carnitas. The best
One of the best poutine, a unique and so tasty sauce for lovers of poutine and orange juice.... Parking: Quick and easy on site
Nice place for family and friends.
Super good smoke meat poutine edition jucep 10/10 Sweet, salty and spicy with a good crispy texture
We ate the Mexican poutine and it was really good, and served by Annick, it was sublime. You go to Drummondville and dont hesitate to go eat.
I thought I would discover a different poutine there... That was the case but it didnt catch my attention.
Too good
Im staying behind
Excellent service, well-filled plates
Very good menu choice! At an affordable price and smiling staff and I recommend their Poutine
Generous dish, reasonable and good price
Super good poutine and a very large portion of fries, sauce, cheese, sausage and ground beef!! The service was very fast and the employees were great and very accommodating with my baby! I highly recommend! To return when I go back to the area
Great food. Picturesque and pleasant place.
More bread than smoked meat in The Smoked Fiand Sandwich. Very disappointing !
The best place to eat poutine. Several choices, quality and quantity available. The service is personalized.
I bought a classic poutine and hamburger at the Jucep food truck at Circuit Trois Rivieres. This is the most disgusting poutine and hamburger I have ever eaten. Wow yes and its writing best poutine and inventor of poutine; It must be modern poutines! The meat tasted like wild meat and the poutine just had BBQ sauce. I understand that these are BBQ sauce ingredients, but not to that extent. She is red and frying oil, without words. That of Alfa well above Jucep. I showed the food truck that it went in the trash after just 2 mouthfuls. $30 least invested. Really disappointed especially for a GP3R dinner.
Good poutine with fresh products. I recommend. The smoked meat isnt incredible, but still good. Fast and efficient service.
Very nice place. My family and I took a drive to our destination and stopped there. Their menu was varied and gave plenty of choice for all ages! The service was good and their food was very good. Nice place to visit if you are in the area.
Poutine trio, nice discovery
It is the original poutine shack. Try it. You ll love it. Be ready to speak French. OJ is more than OK.
Good poutine and good orange juice
One of the very good poutines I have eaten in my life very good and fast service. A beautiful retro decor. I will definitely go back
I didnt like my poutine, the fries were undercooked and there was a lack of sauce and the dessert was well when you have a piece of chocolate cake and the waitress puts more fudge coulis than sauce in your poutine there is a problem .
One of the best poutine in Quebec
I ordered in French and they got my order wrong and ended up paying triple the amount of what I was supposed to. My boyfriends order was also incorrect and he s perfectly bilingual What was wrong: I ordered 1 pogo duo with two pogos on the side (what I got: 3 pogo duos) My partner ordered 1 small poutine, a burger and a drink (what he got: 1 large poutine and a burger - no drink) I paid twice because we had the dogs outside, so I also gave a tip twice They wanted to charge us for the forgotten drink No impressed - would not go back
The portions are very generous and the atmosphere is unique. Large selection of special poutine. I found it to be too expensive for what I received (in my opinion $5 too expensive per dish). Maybe my expectations were too high.
The service was excellent and the food seemed very good in general. Its the poutine that I really didnt like. The fries were good, the cheese okay, but the sauce horrible and sweet, the smoke meat spongy. Its not a problem of cooking but simply of taste and it was the opposite of my tastes.
A good canteen! The atmosphere is cool, I ve always had good service, the poutine is so good!
I was happy to go get some good club sandwiches from Roy Jucep. What was my disappointment when we opened the boxes at home! Already the boxes are much smaller. Half of the box is filled with a salad dish and a sauce dish. The rest for the club and fries. The coleslaw, not even half the dish. The club half a slice of salad listen I had to pack the bread to see that there was salad. A slice of bacon for the whole club and a slice of tomato so thin. And the fries. Thats not what I call a portion of fries. It cost $70 including $9 tip. Seriously, I could have made 10 with $70 and I would have made money on it! Im fine with you raising your prices but give us value for our money! Very very disappointing! Im not sure Ill go back. Where is Le Roy Jucep from the past with its generous portions???
The poutine was ordinary. According to the images on Google, we expected brown sauce in the poutine, ultimately it was more St Hubert style BBQ sauce. Quite disappointed with the poutine at the smoke meet. He lacked a smoke meet and he wasnt very good. We wont come back
Mexican poutine, if its carnitas! Finally, a Mexican poutine that truly reflects its name!
Great restaurant to share a meal with the family. The retro atmosphere is great, the dishes are excellent and thanks to Magali for the great service, friendly, courteous and super helpful. Kid-friendliness: We came with two children aged 4 and 7 plus 2 newborns aged 2 months and everything went really well.
Well appointed restaurant, quality meals and pleasant service
Very good poutine with smoked meat and excellent service
The best poutine Ive eaten to date. The sauce, the cheese, the fries, all were delicious. There are so many choices and I cant wait to go back to try more!
Very good place to stop and eat a good poutine. Very good portion. I had a little difficulty eating everything. Lots of variety of poutine Reasonable prices
Honestly I was disappointed, fries not well cooked, sauce with a little sweet taste (not for me) but the cheese was very good! On the other hand, I know that tastes are different for everyone! Its up to you! Parking: At dinner time, pass by the back street for tourists who dont really know the place!
After 55 years I rediscovered this restaurant which offers first class service and also the lunch is more than affordable and delicious
the perfect ambiance of a classic restaurant
2 Mini poutines and 2 Pepsi, perfect for a quick dinner and then heading back on the road
Always excellent
The food is okay, nothing more. The poutine sauce is sweet, I respect the fact that it s their original recipe, but it s not ideal for poutine. The dining room is clean and well maintained, they keep the retro style so well. We definitely wanted to try the place when we were in the area, unfortunately the experience fell well short of our expectations.
3 hotdogs to go out. They were crushed in a round plate where all the condiments had spilled out and made the hotdog bun soggy, bordering on not very edible.
The poutine is delicious, as are their organ juices.
The poutine is good!!
Excellent lunch, generous portion, affordable price. Always a warmer coffee added to my cup without having to ask.
The lunches are so good!! Orange juice too!!! The waitress was so friendly!!! It s been a long time since I ve been so well received at the restaurant!! I recommend
A must in Drummondville!
A word for the entire work, the memory of my youth and the consistency of the cooking but I fell in love with the low-carbohydrate poutine with celeriac fries A truly great discovery!!! We take it back
Nice little restaurant, I liked the little retro section. For my part, I liked their poutine sauce less, it was sweet and its not my specialty, although I dont regret having tried it at all. If you dont like sweet sauce, they have other options too.
The worst dinning experience in my life food and all they do not know what customer service means in their buisiness
I decided on a whim today to drive and try this place, if Im not mistaken its where poutine was created. I really wasnt disappointed because it was very good. Me and my kids loved it!! I recommend to everyone!!
I really like poutine* but your fries are undercooked
They say that they were the inventer of the French Canadian Poutine lunch. Its still available all over in QUEBEC CANADA. I love this luncheon. Minced meat, French fries topped with a thick brown sauce. But theres a trick to makeing it probably. The perfect amount of each ingredient. Bonne Appétit!
The best poutine in town. Try galvaude.
Great place to eat in a retro style with the succulent taste of a restaurant that no one will complain about!
Very varied choice of poutines. The best.
Service a little mediocre, but the poutine sauce is really good. The carnitas with guacamole was a nice tasty surprise!
Good service. Great food.
Very nice decor, welcoming and smiling waitresses. I will come back before returning to Paris on April 25, 2024.
Superb location with excellent poutine.
We were served in 10 minutes, which was a first. And not disappointed with the poutine breakfast, I recommend this restaurant.
Excellent poutines, the place to have poutine while passing through Drummondville!
The poutine really wasnt to my taste. The sauce tasted like molasses, a choice I find questionable for a poutine. The price was excessive considering the ungenerous portion we were served. The restaurant is nice and clean, but the choice of having waitresses who only take the order and bring the food does not seem justified to me. This unnecessarily increases the bill because of the tip you are supposed to leave. I would prefer to get my poutine myself, like at any poutine snack bar. Im giving two stars because I didnt like the taste of the sauce, the high price and the not very generous quantity.
March 15, Meal served cold, completely dry chicken poutine with a sauce that tastes like water when I mention to the waitress who always leaves this kosher, that my meal is cold she comes back to me with a very small piece of chicken mentioning that the cook does not didnt want to give me a piece that looked good considering that the rest of my meal was also cold. I find it quite ordinary. As a consolation two free iced tea for 2 cold meals wow Unfortunately I have no choice in giving you one star too many.
A classic in Drummond! The inventors of poutine! The best in the world! ;)
Waitresses of the day efficient fast
Their smoke meat club sandwich is just too good as well as the pizza poutine
There is plenty of food in the regular poutine. A Lot. And its good Food
Perfect for small family get-togethers
Smoked meat very ordinary in taste and small portion. Disgusting fry sauce. Good fries...
We went with a group after a volleyball tournament and we had fast and efficient service. The meal was excellent !
A must-see in Drummondville! The inventor of poutine!
Very good poutine, especially with the spicy fries
If you are a savory type, order the poutine with brown gravy and if you are a sweet type, order the authentic one. This is really important because authentic sauce isnt for everyone. The fries are excellent and the cheese used is from the St-Guillaume cheese factory, which in my opinion is one of the best cheese curds in Quebec. Dont forget to try the orange juice, its true that it has a little something that you dont find in the bottled one at the supermarket. Otherwise its very clean and the service is excellent and a great retro experience.
We arrived at Roys house, me and my girlfriend, a bit by chance. Like a hair in the soup if I may say so. At first glance, we were quickly surprised by the rather welcoming retro atmosphere and the dominant orange color of the place. Color that foreshadowed the experience my taste buds would have with their famous sweet nectar. Despite our somewhat late arrival at the establishment, Manon (our waitress) gave us permission to order our lunch. 10/10 Manon. The meal arrived at our table more than quickly. A bit like a hair in the ointment if I may say so. The quantity was solidly generous for the price and the food more than tasty. We had high expectations because a few minutes before receiving our plates, we understood that we had set foot on the site of the creation of holy poutine. Proud Quebec heritage. Very solid Roy jucep. I recommend. Peace out P.S. its cold in the toilets

The king and inventor of poutine! A place to absolutely visit!
If you go there on the weekend, there will be a wait. The service is correct, nothing more. The poutine is good but doesnt particularly stand out. A family-style restaurant that has aged..
Too sweet spaghetti Fried rice too salty The soup has lost the salt We turned the rice and soup Putin drops laugh What can we say about orange, not better, better in Montreal THANKS
We arrived around 8:45 p.m. without knowing that the restaurant closed at 9 p.m. The cashier made us feel that it was not her business to serve customers 15 minutes before closing. In addition to having had an argument with her about the famous tips offered on the machine for card payments. I explained to him that I found it normal to tip for table service but not at the take-out counter. She made it clear to me that she did not agree. I believe that this practice absolutely must stop in restaurants.
The waitresses are smiling and very kind and ate very well. Thank you, its good to see waitresses welcoming
Worst restaurant service! First time I went there and the last time.. waitress with no way super slow service! Worst lunch Ive eaten in my life!
One of the best poutine sauces! And an orange juice to die for!
best breakfast pizza in the region
My club was excellent
We were at Roy Jucep between 10:30 and 11 a.m. My partner wanted to choose a table dhôte and I wanted lunch. Our waitress accommodated us by ordering my menu closer to dinner time (11am). Very helpful and kind, especially stress-free and personable. My partner chose the half spaghetti (which is more than a half in my opinion) the sauce is excellent. I had a plate of baggle egg bacon tomato salad with fruit bowl and small green salad. Everything was well presented.
Homemade sauce that we would say is barbecue, too sweet from the outset when it doesnt go in a poutine and dont even ask for it if you want brown sauce (because its just logical that thats what goes in a poutine!!! !) In addition, ask for extra cheese and its finished 3/4 of fries for apeine 1/4 of cheese and thats in a small one, I cant imagine the other formats.... very disappointing for the price it costs
They have the patent, so they are officially the inventors of poutine.
Really good poutine! Impeccable service!!
The poutines are okay The sauce was a little cold.... The cheese was not melted... The service was impeccable Nice atmosphere
