sushi, teriyaki,drinks
The best Sushi in town. Tried a few other places but they don’t compare to the speed, freshness, size, and price of One More Sushi. Thank you for your excellent food!
Absolutely terrible, save your money. Ordered spicy salmon roll, the salmon had turned(I spat it out) and the rice was overcooked. Very disappointing
Not my favourite sushi place. Fish was fresh but every roll we got didn’t have any flavour or tasted strange. The wasabi was very loose/watery and the ginger didn’t taste pickled. Much better options in town than this place. Not worth the money we spent.
The best Sushi restaurant in town. The quality is always good and consistent. The food is always fresh and tasty. I always come here whenever I get a chance. Love this place.
Honestly, the worst sushi I can remember having. Ginger was off, the wasabi was very watered down, my kappa Maki was 95% rice, rice was over cooked, agedashi tofu was oily and soggy, dynamite roll was weird and mostly yam. I'm just thankful I didn't order any sashimi. There are better options in Duncan by far but this was the only one open when we had a sushi craving.
Only have takeout available (as of August 2021). The food was fresh and flavourful. Sushi are on the smaller side while the donburi is on the larger size (tequila can for reference). They made our food quickly.
By far the best sushi both me and my husband have ever had... and we love sushi. We ordered beef teriyaki, miso soup, Pink roll, Golden roll, Red Maple roll, Emerald roll, and California roll. Great ingredients, perfectly cooked rice, beautiful presentation, and friendly and quick service. Large portions, everything filled to the brim. All around incredible experience. We will definitely be back again! Highly recommended!
One more sushi, haven’t been here in a while. Three of us went for lunch and enjoyed ourselves. The chicken teriyaki bento box looked great and tasted great I’m told and was backed up by an empty plate. The mini tempura bowl was anything but mini, and was thoroughly enjoyed, and seem to be popular amongst the other diners. Mine was a tuna/salmon plate with ebi. Nice Fresh fish, super ginger, and warm tea all in a wonderfully calming tropical atmosphere.
Highly recommend the Vegetarian Combo & Avocado Cucumber Cream Cheese Roll!
They ve closed the sitting area so it s take out only. The dynamite roll was super greasy and had lettuce, which is just weird.
Hours are wrong
Makes food fresh n very fast and still serves delicious. Definitely recommend when visiting Duncan.
Food is so good I love salmon! Vancouver roll super delicious. Sashimi fresh
Was in one of those moments where I didn t know what to eat and chose to grab some take out from One More Sushi. It was phenomenal. 10/10 :-)
Best sushi in Duncan! The prices are good and the sushi is amazing. I hope they have dine in again someday soon, the restaurant was so cute!
Take-out only. No washrooms.
UPDATE March 2024. Had take-out a dozen or more times since my review below. Love the assorted Sashimi! First Review: Ordered the Caterpillar Roll (take out) but it should be named The CRAZY Caterpillar Roll. It was great! Its almost a bit punk-rock as far as traditional sushi goes. Im used to delicate, tidy sushi that you can pop in your mouth in a very polite and genteel way. This roll is large and packed with salmon, tuna, ebi and cucumber, then topped with fresh seaweed making making it a not-so-genteel meal...haha. But thats what makes it fun to eat! And for $17 its well worth it. Will definitely get take-out again.
Good sushi. Won t blow your mind but won t disappoint
Gross rock hard old sushi. Paid so much for fresh sushi and it was at least 2 days old, rock hard and the tempura was leathery and cold. My friend also just got sick from eating here.
Got the Tonkatsu box, and it was amazing! Loved how crispy the tempura and katsu was, miso soup was probably the best Ive had in a restaurant! Thank you.
Caterpillar Role is so good. My favorite!
If you take the California roll as a base of how good a place is... What place doesnt have a cali roll right?? Simple thing.. Probally the worst on the island.
Spicy tuna roll, dynamite weren t very flavourful. BC roll tasted off. California roll was good. The service was alright (take out only), food was ready quickly and besides the bc roll seemed fresh. Prices reasonable. Overall there are better sushi places in Duncan and definitely on the island.
Love the teriyaki chicken
Wheelchair accessible
I do have to say their service is awesome Im a doordasher and theyre very but I never have to wait for the order to go thank you you guys
Asked for a simple piece of tape to seal and order properly as I didn t want it open workers were rude about it
Wow! It may not look like much from the outside but its the best sushi Ive tired on the island so far, and I eat a lot of sushi. Very fresh, even the wasabi tasted freshly made. I only wish I could eat in, but they only do take out right now. We loved it all so much that we made a point of going back in to give our compliments to the sushi chef.
used to go here with my grandma a few years back every week. best sushi i ve had on the island and amazing atmosphere! i will forever cherish those moments with my grandma
Dissapointed with this restaurant, it was not very appetizing. The service for take out was great. We will go to pur regular spot from now on.
TAKE OUT ONLY
Take out only, got the bento box and was amazing!!!
Had a teriyaki beef and the portion of it was very satisfying. I liked the beef it was very tender and also the rick was high quality. Ideal for a take out place for dinner will come back for another try.
Sushi was okay. Gyoza were suuuper tiny. Not happy that they gave me the same amount of ginger and Wasabi for an 8pc dish, as with a 20pc combo sushi roll dish! And to add 2$ extra, thought that would be a given to add extra to 3x as many rolls Come on now, its not expensive. Pay attention to these things, as people like there Wasabi and ginger with every peice.... Im sure u do as well.
I absolutely love this place, the staff are friendly and extremely kind. This is always my go to sushi place, I don t eat at any other. The sushi is always fresh and affordable I highly recommend this place!
Excellent sushi from a small family restaurant. They are always fast, polite, and the food is delicious!
This is by far my favourite sushi place! Their California rolls are so large and flavorful. The spicy tuna roll is unbelievably mouth watering and has a perfect spice level. The prices have stayed reasonable for years. Ive been getting takeout from this place for over 6 years and will continue as long as the quality stays the same!
I have gone here for a few years and always enjoyed the sushi. Fresh and fast service
Worse than gas station sushi. The Cali rolls tasted like rotting fish, the salmon maki was tiny and had the most horrific looking salmon Ive ever seen and barely any in the roll, and the avacoda was hard. A complete waste of money.
So fresh tasting! The sushi rice is cooked perfectly. My go to sushi restaurant!
Great sushi and quick. I dont even call in my order. I just plc it there and in 5 mins its ready
Just had the chicken bento box and it was probably one of the best meals I ve ever had!
Those were the best spring rolls I ve ever had, 10/10 always good <3
Best sushi Ive ever had on Vancouver island. The quality is good and consistent. I always like to go there when Im visiting. Tempura is so yummy. My fav is Vancouver Roll and Cali Roll.
Best sushi in Duncan period
Beautiful presentation of food! Great menu options and varieties! I just wish the food had more flavour
Decent sushi for Duncan. My menu selection was pretty limited but it satisfied my, hmm, sushi would be good right now craving.
Ive been going here for years its my favourite sushi place in Duncan and the udon is amazing as well. Always very quick service.
**** VEGETARIAN / VEGAN REVIEW **** This place is great! The guy who took our phone order was clear-spoken, professional, and polite. Theyre closed for dine-in and the pickup area was well blocked-off and their POS card terminal was connected to their register via a VERY long cord to maintain distance. They take COVID seriously here, every step of the way. The food was terrific! We got tofu bento boxes, yakisoba noodles, and a side Veggie Dragon roll. A great value, $60 after tip for a REALLY hungry family of three... with plenty of leftovers to boot. Sweet! Everything was delicious and well-presented. Unbelievable how they managed to fry perfect slabs of lightly breaded tofu without it falling apart. Sauces were tasty and not too sweet, thick, or cloying. The bento box is a great option. Two big slabs of tofu, three huge pieces of tempura with savoury dipping sauce, rice, edamame steamed in the pod, seaweed salad, four pieces of yam tempura roll, and soup. Wow. My one minor complaint? The miso soup was a bit on the salty side. Cut it with a little water or veggie broth and youre good to go. This place is a cute family-owned sushi joint with fresh, delicious food, great portions, good prices, and respectful professional service. Its a great place to support, and a terrific place to grab your pandemic takeout sushi. LOVE THIS PLACE!!
Amazing service and amazing food. Definitely the best sushi Ive ever had. I want to eat their sushi every night.
The prices are the highlight here, so if youre looking for sushi night on a budget than this place may be the one for you. Dont expect food to die for, however - the flavors and freshness here are average to above average at best. I would be remiss to not mention the vegan options in the menu - really keeps the doors open for a group with diverse preferences to enjoy a meal together. Head on down and try the Takoyaki, why dont ya?
I ordered from here because our regular sushi place was closing when we were able to order. Well to my delight we discovered a fabulous gem! We ordered Dynamite, Spider and BC rolls and Calamari. Its not like the regular place its wonderfully different and so good. The Calamari was made when we arrived to pickup to ensure the deep fried crunch. The presentation in the takeout containers was lovely and smelt delicious and fresh! Good selection of Japanese beverages along with usual drink fare. The only reason not a 5 star is because I havent tried the other menu dishes but I am sure going to come back and order again very soon. Delightful and courteous service if even just for takeout as demonstrated by waiting until we arrived to do up the Calamari. Look forward to my next visit here.
The fastest sushi. Rolls ready in minutes. Delicious and the right price. Definitely recommend.
Delicious sushi some of the best Ive had. Worth a try!
Try that asparagus roll, you will love it !! Good sushi experience always!
Sushi is good and nice options. Unfortunately still use Styrofoam for take away containers when biodegradable sugar cane take aways are cheaper. Would love to see that change!
Best sushi I have eaten in Duncan
Fast service. Currently take out only.
Excellent vege sushi! Fast service and delicious food for delivery.
Great value, friendly quick service and delicious food. Nice surprise for a small town sushi restaurant.
Wonderful staff and delicious food! This is now my go-to sushi place.
The best spicy tuna sashimi on the planet!
Simply great sushi
Love sushi and tempura - everything Asian
Best sushi in town.
Good food
The rolls and food are good! I ordered a chirashi don, negitoro roll, and a specialty roll. Would recommend people come here for a sushi fix!
Going down as the best in Duncan in my books :)
Its hard to eat, the pork chop is hard and frozen, its the same as Wudan. The funniest sprouts. The rice noodles are the same as before. I don t know what it means. Finished. Unacceptable. Nightmare cold pork... stone rice... What a shame....
Ordered the Vancouver roll and it said it came with cooked smoked salmon on it but it came with raw slices of salmon (I know the difference between smoked and raw) Im not much of a raw fish person so I went and tried to explain that to the guy behind the counter. He then asked if I wanted to take it home but i said no I would I do not want it as it has raw fish and Im not a raw fish person and he took it and then threw it away then charged me for it. Will not be back.
This is our familys favourite place to get sushi! The service and food are fantastic and we love that this is a family business!
Our Sushi was so good. Well definitely be back.
Great food!! Quick, friendly service!! Will visit again and again
One of the best in the Cowichan Valley that I know of. Very impressed with the food and the customer service was great too.
Sushi is always amazing and very fast! This is the only place I eat my sushi from!
Excellent
My go to sushi place! The food is always tasty and fresh and the staff Ive dealt with have always been polite and attentive, even though weve only done takeout as the restaurant isnt open to dine-in. That being said, they also have the best covid protocols Ive seen so far. Will def be coming back again in the future
Good
My fave sushi joint in town
I love coming here with my family. It is super cute, very family friendly, awesome menu and good value for price and quantity of food. Everything we ordered was delicious.
Great place! I got two salmon cones, theyre my favorite. I also got the dinner sushi box and was so good! Will definately be a returning customer!
This place used to be one of the citys best sushi/Japanese restaurants... but those days are years ago now, it seems. I used to visit this restaurant regularly since it opened, but have only recently moved back to the area and discovered that this place is not the same. The decor and ambiance (Pretty and intriguing, though not overly Japanese) and location are the only reasons I have given it even a 2 star rating. When i recieved my order it was awful. The tempura squash still had chunks of skin on it, the sashimi tuna SMELLED badly of pungent fish, which sashimi never should, the fish was room temperature, and was dry and showed since of being previously frozen. A shame I wrecked my good memories of great food by revisiting this place. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. A dang shame.
Yummy sushi rolls. Very reasonable prices, casual atmosphere
Love sushi
Great food. Great service. Fast.
Awesome place
Great food, good service, a real family feel to the restaurant
Prices seem comparable to whats in the area. The food is excellent and the staff are super friendly.
They are very friendly and habe a have created a nice enviroment. Ive had decent sushi here one time out of 3 visits. The other times who ever made the sushi added so much mainaise it made me feel sick. I dont think Ill be back sadly.
Good sushi and clean
Love the food!
I go there all the time with my daughter and family. Best sushi in town, great service, and affordable.
Excellent food , love the free candy at the counter
Dinner was drownng in sauce. Looked okay, but not good eating.
Good food every time i go there
Dope
Very poor Sashimi cut so thin, it was transparent. And not much of it. Restaurant was empty on a Saturday night. That should have been my first clue..
The worst place for sushi in duncan. Go further north everything gets better to best.
Service was poor.
Not very good, but good service. I try to support them
Delicious sushi and some very powerful wasabi! Lovely interior as well.
Great sushi, good prices. Lovely atmosphere. Staff is always friendly.
My go to spot in Duncan
The menus are easy to read and pictures to decide what you d like. The price is outstandingly affordable, and the presentation of the dishes you receive are remarkably amazing. The time and love they put into making your dishes are amazing. They truly have an amazing atmosphere, sense of tranquility. Please if you like sushi or even just want to explore what it s about, your surely will enjoy this place. I know the location could be better but it s a hidden Jem.
Very delicious, very reasonably priced! Yum.
Great service good prices great food
Tasty sushi and good service, very small portions though. The sunomono salad was in the smallest that I have ever had one in and the nigiri was barely bite sized for me. Nevertheless very good quality overall.
Great food and good people
Excellent sashimi
Good selection for sushi Very fresh really enjoyed it.
Consistantly wonderful, tasty meals. Not expensive considering quantity and quality of food. Great service too.
Great Food, Good Price, Not Overcrowded, Mostly Natural or Soft Ember Lighting, Good Service, and An Adorable Year Old thats Quiet and Waves to you. Haha I Recommend this Place.
Excellent sushi.....great prices....large portions.
We just came here with a party of 10. They were able to keep on top of all the orders with no problem at all. Highly recommend One More Sushi whenever in Duncan
Great place to go love there sushi
This place is okay. I prefer sushi harbour beside this place
Deadly sushi for a deadly price.
Best sushi in Duncan. So good. Always.
Great sushi staff always nice and accomodating with our kids
Great food and very cheap for good sizes
This place used to be best in town...now its expensive and mediocre. Japan town or bust
Fantastic! So lucky to have this place so close. Nice people, great food!
The food here is prepared with great attention to detail. Always delicious and a good value.
Food is great, service is not. There has been three times in memory where weve gone to order and they either do not have whats on the menu , or weve ordered food and theyve FORGOTTEN to make it. Who does that? Especially when its usually not that busy. Whats worse is that when they forget to make it, theyve still charged me for it and Ive had to be the one to say excuse me, I was never given what I ordered. Now, I usually call for pick up rather than eating in. Prices are fair, and if you do order, its usually ready in 15-20 minutes, which is fair.
I have never done a review before but this place was awful. The agedachi tofu was soggy and the spicy part was dreadful and to top it all off I found a hair in it.... Good luck!
My favourite place to go for sushi. One more sushi has a great atmosphere, great food, and great staff.
A cute, cozy and well decorated establishment, the nigiri is great, so are the rolls, the tuna tataki is a bit off but still enjoyable.
Always get great food here. Amazingly polite and friendly staff. Along with their sushi I suggest their deep fried chicken wings!
Great sushi. Cozy place and friendly staff. The kids love their Virgin Cocktails.
I was gonna eat here then saw they had shark fin on the menu. I hope others take note and boycott the restaurant until the owners wake up to the 21st century and take it off the menu
In the words of my girlfriend Worst 30$ meal of my life. More critically wild salmon was good, seaweed was old and stale, rice was just normal rice, salad was wilted lettuce with some kind of brown paste and tuna was old. Miso soup was also cold. Maybe we came on a bad day?? Lady seemed nice
First visit here in the summer of 2016 was good, enough so that a second visit occurred. Bad choice. The good: miso has good flavour; tempura and smelt fish are done in really hot oil and are really crunchy; sashimi was tasty. The bad: tuna tataki was paper thin and not good value; nigiri was tiny; daikon smelled extra farty; tea is not very tasty; steamed rice was hard/undercooked; service was abysmal for there being only two tables occupied. The ugly: the tobiko that I was served was spoiled. I lifted a piece of nigiri up to my mouth and thought I caught a whiff of garbage coming from the back - nope, that was the smell of the tobiko. This really grossed me out because the tobiko had been sprinkled on the sashimi and was in with the chopped scallop nigiri - things Id already eaten. Time will tell if it makes me crap my pants. There will not be a third visit.
Great Sushi, Great Price, Good Atmosphere, Pleasant staff. Always drop by when Im in town and feel like getting some Sushi
Awesome sushi for a good price. My favorite place in Duncan.
Great server the main detractor was the size of the rolls. rolls should be bite size if this is not the case they are to big! overall the sushi was good but the tuna tataki was to dry.
Sushi was just meh, it wasnt terrible but I have easily had better and when there are more than just one sushi restaurant this shouldnt be true. Service was sub par too I asked for a lot of soy a sauce because I like lots and they told me ya ya there is lots, got home and my mom had just as much as me, once again not terrible but when another place just up the street no less than 5 Mins had much better sushi and willing to accommodate I wouldnt waist my time going here.
