Food and flavours are presented with attention which is why we love going here. Staff are excellent and the pour over coffee is amazing.

Very attentive while ordering and very helpful explaining the menu. However, we did watch people who came in after us get their meals first. But it was a lovely day to wait. The food was good, but the sandwiches were quite small portion sizes. Lunch consisted (for 2) sandwich each, one tofu and one mushroom, one cup of soup, one cup of chili and 2 drinks for $54 and change (tax included).

Went for the 1st time and am kicking myself for it taking this long. Had the breakfast sandwich with their in-house made pork belly - literally the best breakfast sandwich Ive had, ever. I had to be careful not to scare passersby with my sounds of delight while I ate on their lovely little outdoor area. I will be back to try more, but it will be really hard not to get that Sammie again.

We popped in while wandering downtown looking for a bite, and gave it a try today. What a nice surprise! We shared the Brisket Spiced Mushroom Panini, and had a pour-over coffee. The Panini was about as good as weve had anywhere; a delicious balance of flavors and textures. The coffee was also really quite good. We thought it was a good value, with a strong emphasis on quality ingredients and excellent flavors - well be back again, and its good to know that they can satisfy our family and friends diverse dietary restrictions and preferences.

This place is amazing! Not only is the food tasty and nutritious but they have many options for vegan and low carb. As well, love the staff! Highly recommended! Vegetarian options: Have vegan and dairy free options

My Panini sandwich was delicious. Went for the vegan version with mushrooms, tomatoes, herbs, and plant based cheese and highly recommend this one! The space was clean, vibe was chill, and the staff were happy and welcoming.

Absolutely amazing food.. i LOVE that they have vegan AND gluten free options, versus most places that offer one or the other, and the quality of the ingredients is phenomenal. You can tell everything is fresh and made with love! The staff are lovely, prices are reasonable. Really, really love this place I wish theyd open a few nights per week for some dinner dining!! Delicious, really great food and service

We paid almost 50 for 2 grilled cheese sandwiches and soup. Not a garnish on the bland soup but the real joke was the grilled cheese sandwich. A 5 year old would have done a better job. Extra cheese instead of bacon should have had enough cheese to reach the sides of a 4 1/2 inch square. We went there because of the re iews and they are obviously fake.

I recently had the pleasure of discovering the Urban Forest Bistro, and I have to say, its one of the best organic non-GMO restaurants Ive ever visited. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the cozy and inviting atmosphere of the place. But as impressive as the ambiance was, the food was the real star of the show. I was blown away by the range of flavors and textures on offer, all made from the freshest and most sustainably sourced ingredients available. From the creamy avocado toast to the chipotle butternut squash soup, every dish was a masterpiece in its own right. But the standout dish for me was definitely the beef brisket. It was slow-cooked to perfection, so tender and flavorful that I could hardly believe it was organic and non-GMO. The smoky and rich taste of the brisket was complemented perfectly by the restaurants homemade barbecue sauce, which had just the right amount of tang and sweetness. What really set the Urban Forest apart for me, however, was the cafes commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. Every ingredient used in the menu is organic and non-GMO, and the cafe uses compostable and biodegradable materials whenever possible. The bistro even sources their beef from a local farm that uses regenerative agricultural practices to ensure that their cattle are raised in a way thats good for both the animals and the planet. Really fantastic brisket sandwich on delicious bread. I get it every time I come to town. Would enjoy if I came with some potato side dish like potato salad.

Vegetarian options: The salad had a lot to be desired!! 2or 3 raspberry and 2 blackberries!!!very small amount of hemp hearts 1/4 avocado The rest lettuce Overpriced for mainly lettuce.

The price for the serving is completely ridiculous. Expected it to have more meat than the scant amount. There were no sides, not even a pickle, and the one piece of lettuce. This was truly a disappointment, we ere excited to try it out. Also,$4.00 for a drip coffee?

Really good sandwich place. We had a beef brisket with focaccia bread - it was really delicious. Go for blue cheese - it plays very well with the beef. Highly recommend

Bad Sandwich: Went on a Sunday afternoon and they only had two pre-made sandwiches to choose from. My sandwich had too much bread for the amount of fillings and the bread was not great. It was very disappointing after seeing all the great panini photos from earlier reviews. Maybe theyre short staffed? Edit: It seems like I just didnt understand that there are multiple types of sandwiches available. Tip for other customers: Ask questions on the options before ordering!

The food here is ALWAYS delicious. Soups, sandwiches, treats. Ive tried both dairy and Vegan versions of sandwich topics. All of it is excellent, so much flavour, good balance of textures. The coffee is prepared as a pour over, and is excellent. The seating is very informal Cafe style and there is no table service, but the staff are friendly. You wont be diasapointed here.

Absolutely incredible food. The soup - exactly what I needed on a cold rainy day. The pork belly BLT - a three day process just to make one epic sandwich. Wow! And tons of vegetarian options too. Worth checking out, especially if youre already a fan of the Garage across the street.

I want to love this place because the people are so nice and the food is pretty good, but it kind of just feels like they gave up halfway through opening a restaurant. Every time Ive been in theres the same pile of appliances and furniture by the door. Its counter service but theres no sign with the menu so you have to awkwardly stand at the counter while you choose what you want. I hope you want coffee or tea because they do both of those really well. Its probably lunch time though so for lots of people its a bit late for those. The only other drinks they offer are san pellegino sodas or water with no ice, because somehow they dont even have ice. The paninis are pretty good but a lot of them are very similar. The soups are legit fantastic. Theres nothing on the walls, the place just looks like a hallway. I went on their website like two weeks ago, every item on their online ordering was sold out I looked today and its exactly the same. I legit hope this place pulls it together because their food is pretty good and they have vegan food I can eat while my husband can have meat and they use local ingredients. The worst thing is I cant even feel sorry them because for some reason the owners capped out the tip option for the workers at 10%.

Today was my third visit and I continue to be very happy with their high quality sandwiches and salads. Today I had the fancy salad and the beef brisket panini. Both were excellent. I love their smooth jazz soundtrack too. I will return.

I have every allergy under the sun and they had multiple items on the menu that I could order and also accommodated me further when I couldn t eat one ingredient in the bread. Wow. Delicious vegan paninis, friendly staff, and local teas. The GF unbread is absolutely fantastic, regardless of it being GF and vegan. Tons of typical breakfast foods too (not vegan options!).

Im in love with their Grilled Cheese, and will go back to try each type of panini they offer. Excellent food, clean restaurant, bright and cheery. Friendly service. If you like mint tea, try their Minty Nettle....yummy!! Did I mention the grilled cheese had bacon... I have died and gone to heaven!!

Great food and coffee! Visited Duncan for an overnight trip and decided to have breakfast here. Has Gluten-Free bread (For no cost as well!!). I had the Vegetarian breakfast panini and it was amazing. Service and workers were also incredible!

We had a wonderful lunch here. It was so good we ordered some take out to reheat for dinner. The BLT sandwich made with pork belly was so good I m craving one now. Im biased, I want to admit, but I love their food and eat here often!

The food is really delicious first of all, and I m vegan so I have a lot of options. I ve chatted with the owners and they care so much about food sensitivities, and have made a place anyone can come to. For those of us with different diets it s really nice to feel included. When you order you can feel how much they care about your experience. Did I mention the food is mouth-wateringly good?

This place is Duncans best kept secret! Ive been getting regular lunch here for several months and cannot get over how impossibly good the paninis are. The beef brisket with arugula and cheese is, without a doubt, the best sandwich Ive ever tasted in my life. Its the very definition of life-enhancing food. Its an epiphany sandwich. A panino of destiny. A kaleidoscope of unadulterated bliss, manifest in sandwichian form. Its so good AND good for you, that somebody, somewhere, is drafting a proposition to make it illegal. You will not find a better panini this side of the Mediterranean and thats the gospel truth. So many different, delicious coffees too! Wish I could give infinity stars, but limited to 5 outta 5. Vegetarian options: Menu has a wide variety of both vegan and vegetarian dishes. Dietary restrictions: Flour-free kitchen. Gluten-free, keto, and other dietety options honoured as requested. Parking: Multiple parking locations on all sides and nearby free and paid parking within walking and wheelchair distance. Kid-friendliness: Child friendly environment and family atmosphere. Just had lunch at Urban Forest Bistro for the first time today. The food was absolutely incredible! I would go as far as saying todays lunch was some of the best cuisine I have eaten in the Cowichan Valley. The service was excellent as well. I am sure this is going to be one of the top lunch spots in Duncan. I havent tried their breakfasts yet but the items on the menu look delicious.

What a surprise! A shiny, clean little restaurant in the heart of downtown Duncan. Close to the train station. I ordered a BLT gluten free sandwich and it arrived fast, toasted and oh so yummy. Friendly service too. Ill be back for more.

New favourite comfort food in downtown Duncan. The food is quick and delicious and the ingredients are well delivered. My only negative was that I couldnt leave a tip using my debit card! I will be going back soon!
