Had breakfast. Food was fast, hot and delicious. Service was great. Will be coming back

Stopped in for breakfast and was very pleased. Would return if Im in the area.

Every once in awhile, I get a craving for southern food. Well, this place nailed it, and I was able to satisfy my urges. Everything was super tasty!

A typical meat and three restaurant. Ordered food was OK, but the lettuce on the salad bar was browning and wilted.

Food is always great. The staff are friendly. Its one of my favorite goto favorite restaurants in Duncan.

The food waa very medicore and not that good and thats coming from someone with a food addiction. Additionally, the waitress was rude and after careful observation, she only was nice to certain races of people and rude to others. Our meals came with bread and we had to get up and ask about it. She rudely said it comes with but we needed to have specified when ordering. I have never ordered anywhere that I had to specify items that came with...needless to say that we wont return.

Great food. Good prices. Theres a lot of food for dollar value. You will leave filled.

Typical diner. Food was good, quick service. Pretty big breakfast selection. Stop by and give them a try.

Surprisingly great experience! Been here two times now and service has been perfect, food is fairly good, and you get above average portions. Only other thing is to expect getting stared at by the older crowd here. The intersection its at can also be confusing to get in and out of if you dont know the area very well.

The water tasted a bit funny. The chicken fried steak was really good. The filet was tender and fried to perfection. The gravy had great flavor. Eggs were fresh and the bisquit was tender and soft. Really great family style diner. It was not busy when were there but there was only one waitress hustling to her best .

Ive eaten at this restaurant many times for both breakfast and dinner. Food is always really good but the only problem I have is their Google page tells hours and that they are open then I drive there and they are CLOSED! This has actually happened many times. What are your hours? Are they different than your web page? If its good its really not good at all if you cant get it. My suggestion for anybody is to call first regardless of what it says online.

There appeared 2 people to be working, 1 spoke no English and the other was limited but could figure out the questions. I had grouper which was very bland. A big portion of everything. You had to wait up to 10 minutes to be seated when there was only like 2 4tops and 1alone. They never kept a look on the entrance. Some walked out Wheelchair accessibility: Yes you can get a wheelchair in.

Been by several times,and you have been closed when clearly it states that you are open! Not professional at all

Great food wonderful staff try the pork chops

I used to come here as a kid and loved this spot. It is a fond memory I have of my childhood. I didn t get a chance to eat there again but instead was placed on hold. It sounded like a reverse butt dial and it was kinda funny. I m assuming the woman forgot our interaction and just put the phone in her pocket. I had hope and stayed on the line. I heard a woman and man screaming obscenities to each other with blasting music in the background. I was never spoken to but instead hung up on. Lol I can understand the mix up but based on the other reviews I can assume that I should leave the past in the past.

Ive had dinner and breakfast here and I can say it was really good. The food is good, good service and they have a great selection here with a lot to choose from. You can find all your favorites and more here so theres something for everyone no matter what you might be in the mood for. Ill definitely be back again.

Probably the worst breakfast I ve had in a very long time. Everything tasted freezer burnt and the corned beef hash was literally from a can. There were only two other tables full in the entire restaurant yet our service was very slow, items were forgotten and it was overall just a bad experience.

Great family dining experience. Prices extremely reasonable service was great. Definitely will be back many times. I encourage anyone who wants home cooking.

Great local dinner with friendly staff and good food

Traveling through and was not impressed. First, hubby didnt get 2 of side items. Told the waitress. Still waited and had to mention it again. Only got 1. Told cashier upon checkout who offered us his beans to go. When I said no he wanted them with his meal, no discount was even offered. Lastly, there was zero seasoning on the grilled salmon. People ahead of us were complaining about cold veggies so maybe he didnt want cold pinto beans after all.

Normally I get the baked lasagna and it has always been great. However, I should have stuck to the norm, because I tried the chicken Alfredo with house salad and it was not good at all. The Alfredo was like water and some of the chicken was a little tough. The ranch dressing that I requested with my Salad was also like water. No exaggeration, was just a complete waste of $14 bucks. Look at the photos posted and see for yourself.

Everyone were very nice. I cant think of anything bad to say, and Ill be back again. Wheelchair accessibility: I am handicap and all was fine.

The food was all overcooked. The best part of the whole thing was their tartar sauce. Cant say enough about the sauce it was the best.

Delicious southern food.

We were working In the area and since theres not that much to choose from we went in here to get something to eat. I ordered a cheeseburger melt and fries with a sweet tea. Not cost me rounded up to $13 plus a tip was $17. I dont mind paying decent money for a decent meal but the burger wasnt a padded fresh burger it tasted like a frozen burger. It came with Texas toast and the top was grilled and the bottom of the bread was not and I probably only ate four or five fries because they were not the best fries. The waitress was terrific The atmosphere in the place was run down it looked very old on the inside like it needed a remodel look like a restaurant left back from the 80s. I dont live in the area and that was my first time there so maybe it was an off day but the atmosphere in the place definitely needs an uptick

My wife and kids went on a afternoon, it was ok. We were the only ones there, and it seemed dead. Food wasnt all that great, I think its rather eat at Cracker Barrel.

My son & family drove 17 miles, and so did I to meet and eat together after it said on their website they didnt close until 8 pm. The restaurant had quite a few customers eating at tables. They had stuck a paper note on the door saying Were Closed AT 6:00! BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!

Our church group comes here every month and we LOVE it! Sure, you may find certain items that aren t to your liking but overall it s always a win. The service is always great especially for our large party.

Neat and clean. Food -except for mine, was pretty good. But, if like me, you like a ribeye steak sandwich, and you like a tender piece of meat... then DON T order the ribeye steak. It was not pleasant, and the cheap burger bun that they put it on would fall apart as you try to eat the tough steak. Being in the food business, they should know better than to put a steak on a hamburger bun -just silly.

Foods great

The food was amazing the portions were above average! The price was adequate for the portion size. The atmosphere is kind of flat but quaint. The staff is friendly but not overly attentive. We had the baked spaghetti and meatloaf meal! The meatloaf was amazing even the leftovers the next day I don t care for fried okra but theirs isn t half bad. They should play some soft background music to lighten the place up a little. Please switch ketchup to Heinz that is my only complaint. I wish they would have had banana pudding when we were there! They didn t have many desserts. They are kid friendly and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible. Which is always wonderful in my book that they think ahead for people. The menu is such that if you have dietary restrictions there are options for everyone! There was a salad bar but neither of us tried it. There is also plenty of parking in the lot and room for wheelchair accessible vans.

My husbands food was terrible!! The fish wasnt cooked enough in the middle. Wasnt crispy. And had a bone in one of the fillets No hush puppies. They gave him fries. He didnt order. The cabbage had a big piece of the core in the bowl! Cant eat that!! And the cole slaw was runny. I would give a 0 if I could. I dont recommend this place at all!! I told the waitress she needs to tell the cook what I said. This is how you loose customers!! We wont be back!! Wasnt offered a refund or to get something else!! Just posted pics of the cabbage core in the bowl!! I mean who puts the core in it! You cant eat that!!!

My husband and I ate breakfast here for the first time and last time. The service was good but the food was pitiful. I m not expecting a 5 star restaurant but they could have done a few things to give their food some taste. For example, the pancakes were nothing but batter, no buttermilk, no vanilla flavoring, just plain batter. In addition, the omelet was cooked on a dirty grill because I could taste an odd flavor after every bite of omelet. I wished I had read these reviews before giving them my business. How anyone can say the food is great or superb had a very low bar. It is FAR from superb!! Don t waste your time eating here because you will be disappointed. On the other hand and to be positive and not all negative, the prices were inexpensive and the waitress was through in bringing to the table everything needed without being asked for extra condiments.

Zero stars, bad customer service. Called in and placed an order for chili cheese burgers one plate one sandwich got there it was $25.05. Looked inside it was a regular cheeseburger with lettuce tomato and onions with two cups of chili on the side. I explained to waitress that the order was wrong she then said that is how there s where I asked for the manager which failed to come out from the back he had said no refund and said if we like we could call the police. So that was done. In the end got the money back and then my boss who had drove up there to get it handled was put on a no trespassing which we will never ever attempt to eat there again first time experience with the restaurant and the last.

Really no stars at all. 1st time there and the last. Me and a coworker ordered a double chilly cheeseburger plate and just a double chilly cheeseburger. It was $25.05 way too high to start off. The cheeseburgers were regular cheeseburgers and had the chilly in a cup on the side. That s not what we wanted. So we asked for a refund to go elsewhere. The manager/cook said he wasn t giving a refund and to call the cops. So I did. The cop got me the refund and the manager trespass me. I told him he didn t have to I wasn t never coming back. So we went to the clock ordered the exact thing and it was what we wanted and was under $18. Over a $7 difference. People say their prices are reasonable. Does $7 more than anywhere else sounds reasonable. That was my one and only experience there. Plus the burgers looked like a 3 year old cooked them. I would be a shame as an owner to serve them looking like that.

If you like good ole meat and three type diners with off the menu items too, youll like this place. Booths and tables in an older nostalgic setting with southern cooking food. Food is good, staff friendly, and service is good. Enjoy.

Good old fashion down to earth food served in a bright, clean establishment. Took a large party for Sunday breakfast, 12 people. We called ahead to let them know we were coming and they had our table set up when we arrived. Service was quick as they split our party between two servers. They went out of their way to make a fresh pot of coffee when I complained about the first cup being very weak. I would recommend this restaurant for a good meal. Still the best place in Duncan to get a good meal.

The water was the only good thing, and the coffee was decent. Every dish we tried (chicken and dumplings with sides of carrot and raisin salad and yam soufflé; and grilled pork chop with Mac and cheese, banana pudding and fried okra; and we got peach cobbler) was some of the worst food we ve ever eaten. Chicken and dumplings had a very weird taste of lemon. Carrot and raisin salad tasted like straight up, textured mayonnaise Yam soufflé (how does one even mess that up??) had soggy pecans and the taste of margarine far overpowered the sweet potato flavor Grilled pork chop was dry, completely bland with no flavour Mac and cheese was really more of a velveeta cheese sauce mixed in with overcooked pasta Banana pudding was the only semi-edible food, and it was clearly the cheapest commercial pudding mix Fried okra was completely bland, with a weird aftertaste like there was cleaner or something in it. Peach cobbler was literally just canned peaches in a soup with a few globs Waitress did her best to provide good service, but when we went to the front to pay, we waited for a REALLY long time, and nobody came to the front until there were 3 other parties in line behind us We ve both eaten better food at Waffle House. If Burger King or Jack in the Box (IMO, the worst of all the fast food chains) decided to open a country cooking restaurant, they might actually have done better. I ve been there before today, but that was at least 7-8 years ago, the food was decent then which is the only possible reason for the high ratings. We are big supporters of local, small businesses, and stopped in today since we happened to be in the area. We will NEVER go back and if you hope to get edible food, I d recommend you go anyplace else.

Me and my family were looking for good breakfast and this popped up. It was so good homemade biscuits and everything. You can tell the cook loves to cook. The food and staff were both amazing!! We will DEFINITELY be coming back.

The food was good but small portions. My husband and I got both ordered the daily meat and 2 side special for $10.99 (not buffet) plus salad bars we were told was $3.99 with purchase of our entrées. We had our 6 yr old son that had eaten earlier so not real hungry. My son loves meatloaf so I gave him some of mine and a spoon full of my Mac & cheese on a plate from salad bar. So when we checked out we were charged $8.99 for S.bar bc I shared some of my meal with my six year old on a salad bar plate. He never ate anything of the salad bar and what he ate would ve fit in a pudding cup.

We just went there for lunch for the 1st time ,the chicken livers are some of the best Ive ever eaten ,the veggies and fried chicken is superb and the sweet tea is out of this world good ! We will definitely be back ! Great food & great staff ! Thanks for a great lunch

This family restaurant and the employees make you feel like your part of the family. I live 35 miles from Duncan Family Restaurant and I go there at least 6 times a month or more. If you never have been please go you will enjoy it.

We had a party of nine,was really a long wait to be seated. Everyone in restaurant had already eaten and left before we got our food. Tables that had left as we were seated was still not cleaned off when we left. The food was cold,and wasnt very appealing.Orders wasnt correct and didnt even get what we order correctly. The worse experience I ever had there.

I hardly ate any of my food. The salad bar was small and the lettuce old. The country fried steak was not cooked fresh and white gravy was bland. Service decent. Wont be going back.

We went in to eat at around 1:00pm on a Sunday afternoon. The host asked us how we were and I said, good, how about you? and he took a deep breath and said, busy, like chickens with our heads cut off. I looked around this little restaurant and saw maybe twenty people inside and thought...if this is busy I dont know how they stay open. We both ordered diet coke to drink. The waiter informed us that they had diet pepsi, which is fine...who cares? Then when they brought our drinks out both drinks tastes very different. I thought, this is unusual that two drinks...both ordered at the same time...would taste different. I just got a glass of water. We ordered our food I got the salad bar with my meal. The salad bar was low on some stuff and the stuff that was on there was a little warm and wilted. None of the dressings were labeled. My meal came with three sides and I ordered two intentionally to see if the waitress would point out that I get a third. Instead of pointing that out, she just put my order in and the kitchen decided to double up one of my sides. It was an interesting concept. I dont really have an opinion about what happened there. Im just reporting the facts LOL. This is me being nit picky again, but my companion ordered a bacon, ham and cheese omelet. What came to our table was a bacon, ham and cheese scramble. This isnt such a big deal. It just tells me that a restaurant that serves breakfast all day didnt have one cook on a Sunday that knows how to turn an omelet. That is bad for business. Overall, I gave this place two stars. Out of five stars, two and a half stars would be average...middle of the road. This place was below that. I wouldnt waste my money again.

Ate there for the first and last time yesterday. Had to ask for a clean fork 3 times and finally got one on the 3rd try. The food was horrible and I found a hair in the green beans which I took a picture of. How this place passes DHEC inspection is a puzzle to me. I wouldn t recommend this eatery to a hungry dog!

Best meat and 3 in the area. It is a family restaurant, so there were kids running around when we went. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, our orders were taken quick and the meal came out quick.

This place is a no-fuss old timey diner. The atmosphere is nothing to look at. But the prices were good and the food is superb. Strangely, they dont serve breakfast at certain times, which is why I normally go to a diner over a burger place.

Not impressed...the food was horrible...the salad bar was even gross..and for someone that doesnt eat meat that is a big deal...it was cold inside the restaraunt ..the waitress never came back to check on us after bringing us our food and its not like the place was busy there was only about 3 tables occupied in the whole place..we had to get up and go ask for our check...i guess if your hungry enough it will do but not somewhere you want to plan to travel to...just saying

Amazing local restaurant with above and beyond service. Very generous serving sizes and plenty of selections, anyone could find something they like here. The atmosphere is very welcoming, relaxed, and very family friendly. The food was served fresh and everything tasted amazing. While visiting this area, my family went to this restaurant two days in a row, because it was just that good. I would recommend this place to anyone and would rate it 10 stars if I could.

Our first time eating here but definitely not the last. They had an excellent selection on their menu with great prices to match, the food came out in a timely manner. We will definitely be back to try something new next time!!!

Don t waste your time and money. We waited to be seated because there s only two people to wait tables, run the register and seat people. The tea was horrible (an easy switch I can live with). We went thru item after item before we finally found something to order that the waitress didn t say we don t offer that today we don t have that any more. We can only fix it this way. despite these items being on the menu. The lasagna came out with no bread because they don t serve that on Sunday, but can happily offer cornbread to go with the lasagna if you need bread . The food had no seasoning and no taste at all. We ended up leaving a tip for the waitress because honestly she was doing the best she could given the circumstances. Now we know why we pass there on Sunday s and there is never a church crowd . We won t be back!

Went to this restaurant a couple of days ago and my wife and I loved the food so much! There was a nice young lady serving us and she was very nice and customer oriented. We had a bacon double cheese burger plate, peach cobler, collared Greens and fried Grouper. Cant wait to return.

quite honestly i have driven past this place more times than I can count, howd I know a tiny town restaurant could kick out delicious food hell, i wouldve been there a lot sooner then, my first trip this past Sunday Sept 12 2021... I had the special shrimp and grits for lunch OMG it was ahhhmazing, a ton of baby shrimps and the grits were made spot on - no lumps, not under cooked - just perfect, my Best Friend had the steak and shrimp platter with 3 sides her medium rare steak was also made to perfection..... so the next time Im in town visiting her - i am definitely stopping in! i live in Marion, NC and she lives in Duncan Station ... Thank you definitely a 5 star rating from me !!!!!!

Since 0 stars isnt an option had to give 1which is being very generous. This place has consistently been disgusting under the current owners. Dont know why Ive given it more than my standard 3 chances. They were out of the 2 entrees I tried to order so got veggies...thats usually safe, right? Fried green tomatoes was the only one of 4 that was edible. Mashed potatoes are instant, no flavor & probably made with water instead of milk. Macaroni is boxed or canned, definitely nasty & not even close to homemade. And the only word that describes the green beans is sour. Dont waste your money!!!

The food was tasteless, I wouldnt go back not because it was a bad experience, but because I didnt feel like enjoying the food, the salad was good though. 5 stars to the server who was amazingly kind and attentive.

I changed my review of this restaurant from 4 stars to 1 star. They tried charging us $23 for a two hotdog plate with fries, a side salad and a SM Dr pepper. These people have become too greedy and have caused the seniors who were regulars to stop coming. We all know prices are going up but this was highway robbery. Shame on you. The minimum wage hasnt even been raised yet. Your store is nasty. Your waitresses are rude and they are constantly getting orders wrong. Srew you and eat the rich.

Been there the first and last time. Bad service. Lasagna was pretty good, the other food not so. Plain taste. One of us had a steak what was overcooked. When returning it and ask for a new one, a other Lady came back ( Manager?? No idea ) and asked if she could pick something else from the menu it would cost too much to cook a new steak! We asked, just to give a discount of her plate then. It wasnt a lot and then when asking how much the discount was, our waitress spoke in different language to her Manager? in front of us, what is in my opinion rude.

Dont ever get the chicken and dumplings is totally sucks. Was not expecting that one it just wasnt good at all.
