Had an amazing meal, Bill was a great host. Went for the Morel dinner. Every course had a quick, clear explanation. The food was incredible, thoughtful and put together beautifully. Highly recommend.

Was at Deerholme Farm last Saturday on December 2021with a private Truffle dinner for a group of 8 people. Absolutely an amazing place to dine and entertain from beginning to the end of the night. All the courses were prepared and presented with harmony among the guests and I can truly say the main course of the melt in your mouth smoked beef accompanied with wild mushrooms and the perfectly golden crisped and tender roasted potatoes rendered in duck fat, was heavenly. The desert of apple tart accompanied with chocolate truffle and truffle ice cream was so good and a perfect end to a beautiful night. I would like to take this time to thank chef Bill Jones for our beautiful get together and evening.
Update to my earlier review (below) The owner has addressed all my comments and has refunded all my money for our dinner, as he wants to ensure all guests are happy with their dining experience at Deerholme Farm Ed Hollington. My friend and I recently dined here and would not recommend this restaurant for a number of reasons. The main reason is that it is way over priced for what you receive. The food is mediocre and bland. It’s a tasting menu with very small portions, none of which was anything special. The main course was lamb which had no lamb taste at all. This course took a long time to serve, partly because the lamb sat on a cold BBQ for some time. The restaurant has an indoor dining area which was packed and very noisy. We sat at one of two tables on the sun deck which included two smoky barbecues nearby. Be prepared for a dog and cat to wander by looking for food and attention. The garden area and the buildings looked neglected and unappealing. Overall, little values for an expensive dinner.
I was able to attend one of the mushroom foraging courses here at Deerholme. It was absolutely amazing. The passion with which Bill speaks about the science and qualities of mushrooms speaks almost as well to his prowess as a chef as the absolutely amazing mushroom based food itself. Bill spoke on harvesting and identifying mushrooms with true expertise and confidence. He was eager and friendly about receiving questions all the way from the fundamentals to advanced concepts. And on top of it all he has just enough sass to make this mycological adventure extremely entertaining. I would suggest this to anyone with an interest in the west coast environment or even just some amazing food. Thanks once again to Bill for this amazing experience.
We had a great time during the mushroom foraging workshop at Deerholme farm. Bill is very knowledgeable and we learned quite a lot. We had a chance to go for a walk in the woods where Bill showed us how to apply our newly acquired knowledge. He also shared some tips for cooking with mushrooms and made us some delicious meals. As an experienced cook, I didn’t learn much during the cooking class, but it was still a fun culinary experience.
I recently shared a fabulous meal with my lady and several new friends at Deerholme Farm. The atmosphere reminded me of large family dinners back east, full of life, smiles and appreciation. Bill sports a excellent demeanour as host, chef and entertainer. I would highly recommend Deerholme for anyone seeking excellent food, and a welcoming dining atmosphere.

What an experience! A fantastic way to engage your senses and appreciate the bounty we have around us - all guided by an expert chef with a great sense of humour.
We enjoyed a private dinner here and I cannot say enough about how amazing the experience was! The food was absolutely DELICIOUS and having Bill there to answer questions, walk us through all the courses and cooking everything right there in front of us was absolutely phenomenal!
If you get a chance to experience a meal here grab it!

As far as west coast food experiences, this is second only to Willows Inn imo. Vegan/Vegetarian is possible with additional notice. The food is great and there are always interesting people to meet and mingle with (communal tables). Its BYOB, so I would bring a bottle of wine to share.
