I’ve been to this location to get takeout and dine in, probably about four times. Every time the food has been hot and fresh and the staff very nice. This evening I went just before close, which I know is not usually the staff favorite. They were gracious and had no problem making everything fresh. Also the inside of the restaurant is very clean, bathrooms included!
DO NOT USE THE DRIVE THRU IF YOU GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!! We were stuck in this place in line for OVER 25 minutes before we finally got out of the car and asked an employee inside what’s going on, and they said word for word “we didn’t hear the car”. No apology for making us sit there for that long or anything. If we didn’t go inside ourselves we’d still be sitting in that line. I’m writing this as we left Popeye’s without ordering because who would want to order after being trapped there for almost half an hour without even ordering. What a turn off. Sure the food is good, very good. But the service absolutely sucks. No apology. Wouldn’t you think they would go: “Hmm it’s prime meal time but no one’s coming through the drive through at all… that’s strange… it’s been almost 30 minutes. Let’s go check to see. Let’s check the cameras to see. Let’s walk out the door to see if there are cars.” but no… somehow we had to be the ones to get the drive thru going again? And not even a simple sorry when we passed by the window? You’d think a brand new restaurant would keep an eye on their drive thru knowing it would be busy, especially at DINNER TIME 🤦 WE had to initiate the drive thru line going again. “Oh yeah we didn’t hear the car” are you serious Popeyes?! I was really excited to eat there.
We ordered 3 Deluxe Chicken Sandwiches, boneless honey garlic wings, and the Cajun mashed potatoes. The sandwiches were amazing! Huge pieces of chicken with light batter. All 3 of us loved them. It's making me hungry for another one just making this review. The boneless wings were so soft and delicious, and the sauce was so great. I would definitely order them again as well. The Cajun mashed potatoes were so gross, though. I will be trying something else instead of them next time. We're definitely coming back!
Really some good/bad here...ordered a bunch of the menu to get a sense of things. The chicken was good, had a drumstick, thigh and wing. The Macaroni & Cheese side was disgusting, frankly. Watery, flavourless and gross. And the Chicken Sandwich I ordered came with rotten lettuce (see picture) and a toonie-sized single tomato on it. And (probably a growing pain from just opening) the pop is completely flat. So...lots to be done here...it's not worth the money (26$) and I hope it improves a ton. The lady at the front was fantastic and helpful.
TL;DR 1. Wholesome/clean atmosphere 2. If you're unfamiliar, look up menu online beforehand 3. Triple-check when ordering at the drive thru 4. If you like mild/medium, definitely go for the Ghost Pepper burger, it's actually spicy as far as fast food goes (I added lettuce and tomato) It was such a cool experience to go to their brand new location tonight! Yes, it was an hour long experience from leaving the house to getting back home, but it was a great adventure. There is something so wholesome about a brand new fast food place that hasn't been tainted yet, so clean and bright... yeah the drive through took forever, but we were all in it together! Mission for chicken! While we were in the drive though, we googled their menu so we would be prepared - as we have never been to a Popeyes before, I highly recommend doing this or you might get confused on all the exotic options. Make sure you are very clear what you're ordering, since the staff is new, I triple checked what he was typing in, this is a must! I had the Ghost Pepper burger and added lettuce and tomato. (I normally like mild to medium spicey, but I knew that fast food is rarely as spicy as they say it is) It was perfectly spicey - you will need a drink with this one, I would say its medium spice for sure. My son had the Bone-In honey garlic wings, (I thought the honey garlic would be a dipping sauce, it is not, its tossed on top of ghost pepper breading which was a pleasant surprise) He said they were really good. We also got cajun fries. (they just call these regular fries, so that was a point of confusion at first) They were good, but the cajun flavor is only very slight. All in all, awesome experience!
Our first and only time coming- we spent over $20 on two "deluxe" burgers (the standard burger with 1 tiny scrap of lettuce and the tiny end slice of a tomato - not even big enough to have a single seed in it) with no sides, extras, or drinks- which is already a joke, and then upon eating it, it became apparent that 80% of the seemingly generous chicken piece was just deep fried batter with barely any chicken. It was like eating gravel. The chicken itself must have been 1cm. Complete rip off.
We waited patiently in line yesterday as it was still quite busy. No problem. Understandable. The service was very good. The young lady behind the counter was friendly and didn't try to rush us through our order. The food was really good. My 6 year old son ate almost all of the combo we ordered for him, and he's very picky about what he likes. Overall, a good experience and I am wishing this business success in the long term.
UPDATE ordered a 2 piece chicken meal for my lunch and was so disappointed that the legs were so small! Popeyes, you should put 2 chicken legs or at least another chicken wing. I ordered a 2 piece chicken not a 1 1/2 chicken meal. You can see in the picture how small the chicken leg , almost same size with the package ketchup. Come on Popeyes! Went to Popeyes on the opening day, drive thru was a looong wait like more than an hour.. Was it worth it? Yes!! 😊 Staff were amazing the chicken was yummy!!! and onion was huge.. Love every bite of it! Staff did a really god job on the opening day! I went back to Popeyes after 2 days of their opening and decided to order a to go meal. I noticed that the Menu screen does not have a price list except for the chicken wings... Popeyes please put prices on your display..

App didnt work properly, manager was dismissive. Gravy was disgusting, ghost pepper sauce was gritty. Was really hoping it would be good but its back to Lees for me.
Food is great every time, but it should be a practice to double check the bag before it goes out to make sure the order is complete.
Closing your kitchen an hour before you close is a terrible decision and seems like a great way to lose business. Absolutely crazy I ve never actually been told once an hour before a place closed that there kitchen is closed and can t make anymore food

First time i went the food was okay but they forgot my ranch dip, the second time i got a combo and had hardly any fries put in the bag. Was not impressed with the quality of service so far.
Disappointed, we had the chicken nuggets, the batter has no taste and the coleslaw has a Chemical taste . I nearly threw up . It was $25 for the two of us,

Had to wait for 2 sandwiches. Told 5 minutes. It was 13. Get home and lettuce is wilted tomatoes are awful. One sandwich had no pickles. Average at best. So much mayo had to wipe off.

First off, way too expensive for the portion given. Ordered a combo and got SIX fries, also ordered an iced tea and got a coke. Chicken was undercooked and the honey garlic sauce tasted like glue. This is genuinely worse than Lee s Chicken. Horrible first experience.
Biscuits were hard on the bottom, could only eat top half. Chicken breast was dry. Only good thing was poutine, gravy was good.

Love the food but the new store can learn a lot from the Victoria store. Waiting 30 minutes for only half the order to arrive and then have to wait another 20 minutes for the rest of the order while the other food gets cold. Also leaving your front of house to apologize while kitchen is clueless. Tried your store twice and every-time there was issues. Duncan town was so excited for you to open but maybe close the store and retrain the kitchen . Maybe a restart will be beneficial. Wish you guys good luck but only will be back when it becomes fastfood like all the other Popeyes.
Top notch management there was a miscommunication, and they made it right. I was very happy with my order. I hope future orders have the same results.

I guess theyre new and struggling to get organized but I dont recommend it right now because the drive-thru was incredibly slow. They were losing track of items in the order and didnt seem to have a clear system of tickets or receipts.
Went late on opening day and drive thru was actually quite fast considering it was the first day opened. Went thru again a week later and it was really fast. Ordered from inside yesterday. From the 3 times weve been - Chicken has been consistently great. Not too greasy, not too dry. Outside is crispy and tasty, inside is very moist. If you like chicken skin youve come to the right place! The coleslaw is really good. We like the green coleslaw and this did not disappoint. The mac and cheese was a little bland, tasted like it was marinated in a block of Velveeta and noting else. But I added some pepper and a dob of butter and it was a lot better. Fries are good although they arent anything special, but they arent yuck either. Prices were fair. Ive paid more for crappy chicken elsewhere in town. All and all, we enjoyed the 3 times weve been and recommend for any one who likes fried chicken. Next time we are going to try the wings and the sandwich.

This was way more expensive than fast food has any right to be. And the food is even worse... Paid like $80 for just 2 people, so keep in mind this was already ridiculous before we even got the food. Got soggy, super dry wings. I asked if there was a way to get extra sauce on them when I ordered, was told yes. They were dry anyway with like a tiny thimble full of sauce on them. I asked if they could just give me some extra sauce on the side or something, only to be told no, that they cant do that for some stupid reason??? I was willing to pay extra for it and everything. They handed me some hot sauce packets instead. Thr biscuits were also rock hard around the edges. Really annoyed and never going back. I will just get real wings with plenty of sauce on them some place else, which will be better quality and cost less. Cant wait to see this place close. I am not impressed. Do better.
$31 For Cold Food, Chicken Sandwich combo Cold Chicken Wings Cold Fries Wasnt Worth Buying. AndThe Pies Are Sad Small Pies. Waste of My Money Lees is Better.
the coating was really good and it was not real greasy, I just found the chicken to be really salty, I understand that they soak it in brine, but all I can taste is salt, not chicken, in My opinion the brine ruins the taste of chicken. Dietary restrictions: dont eat the chicken if You are on a low salt diet.

I ordered boneless chicken wings.They were rubbery. The coating wasnt crispy and when you took a bite the skin just separated from the chicken. The employee just made excuses. It didnt take long to lose the quality.
Its a fast food chicken joint........and its decent. Chicken isnt greasy, but nice and crispy. The only issue is getting your order correct. I have been to this location 4 times now for take out, unfortunately, my order has not been correct yet even once. Whether its the wrong type of dipping sauce, or boneless wings rather than bone-in, this chicken joint just cant seem to get the orders exactly right. Quality of the food is decent as far as fast food chicken and sides go however. Just dont expect to get exactly what you ask for. Itll be close! But juuuuuuust wrong enough to leave you slightly dissatisfied.
Staff are handling the line ups really well. Very helpful with the menus and had loads of patience with everyone.

A lot of people were complaining about the wait for the food. It s the first day they re open it s going to be slow until everyone has gotten into the groove of things. If people are gonna have an issue they should go home and cook for themselves. The chicken was great and service was friendly. If you have a slice of decency and patience i highly recommend

I understand its the first day and the wait is 30-50 minutes but the insides of our take out chicken sandwiches were cold and slightly warm on the outside. They did not get heated all the through. I tried phoning multiple times, no answer. It was too busy to get any help

Showed up to have my soul healed by some chicken, but the doors were locked tighter than my trust issues. I guess the spice level here is inaccessible. It was so closed I thought I was at Area 51. Do I need government clearance to get a sandwich? I REALLY wanted some chicken, but this Popeyes has ghosted us. It s a relationship I never even got to start. Why does this popeyes never open, august 14th was long ago ive starved myself since. Okay i complained about it not being open but maybe it was better closed. I get it was busy but where the flip was my fries?! I ordered 90 dollars worth of food because im hungry and i planned on eating it all, but my money wasnt enough to include fries. Disappointing (im not fat just hungry)
If you ever want to test your patience, go through the Popeyes drive-thru. My car actually aged while waiting. I think I saw the cashier retire and a new one start during my wait.

The food is good is as promised.
The chicken was not bad but I d like to see them up their spice game. I have to say the same about Lee s too. Also, the Popeye s onion rings were lacking in seasoning and were not very crispy. A&W does better on their onion rings. We ve generally been going to A&W and Lee s. Seasoning will make the difference on our choices.

Finally Duncan gets some fine dining! Exquisite experience rivalling the best of New York , Paris or Crofton. Get there before they get their Michelin star and the prices go up! Food : 5/5
Best chicken in town!
The workers were nice but everything else was horrible. 1. Prices were not shown on the menu 2. Got the ghost pepper sandwich and it had almost no sauce at all, wasnt spicy at all, and they gave me 1 pickle (I asked for extra). 3. Asked for mashed potatoes and Cajun gravy, all I got was some gross gravy 4. I also asked for two sauces to dip for my nuggets.... I got none. 5. Online it showed the one sandwich for $8.99 but the receipt showed a much higher price. It was $30 and definitely not worth half that.
So utterly disappointed. I have had Popeyes in other places and it was always at least good, maybe not great, but good food. Tonight however at the new Duncan location, ugh. So dry and underwhelming. The driest chicken it was like formed sawdust. I understand new store growing pains but this was dismal. I order the deluxe chicken sandwich it had the saddest tiniest piece of lettuce and tomato on it. Also no prices on anything felt severely ripped off. $45 for a chicken sandwich and an order of boneless wings with fries and onion rings. Everything was cold. Not going back.
Today was a fail! Chicken was well over cooked...and dry dry dry! Lettuce and tomato were so soggy on the burger... both sodas were flat. I understand growing pains, but your known for your chicken. ... you gotta get that right.
Popeyes exceeded all expectations on their first day! The service was incredibly fast and efficient, even with the crowd, and the staff worked together seamlessly. Most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious crispy, flavorful, and fresh. They definitely delivered on taste without sacrificing speed. Overall, a fantastic experience!

We waited over an our for our order while everyone behind us got all their order. They kept telling us 15-20 minutes and then we got our order wrong and left us waiting for another hour or more. They need to be nicer.
The food was one of the best ive ever had from fast food, I loved the service, I got my meal in less than 10 minutes!! and the Lobby was super clean and if someone spilled it was cleaned almost immediately!! Dietary restrictions: You can make special modifications to your orders to make it friendly for your dietary restrictions or vegetarian options!! Parking: Lots of parking and very accessible! Wheelchair accessibility: Perfectly accessible for people who are disabled!!

The Staff were nice, but the meal was lacking had the Deluxe Chicken Sandwich Combo, there were very few fries and they were worse then MCDs fries. The Chicken was thin and not crunchy and there was hardly any lettuce. I wanted to give it a try, for something new/different, but Im thinking Ill stick with Lees.

After waiting in a long line up was very disappointed. The pop that came with one of the meals was flat, the mashed potatoes and gravy that came with the main meal was the most disgusting thing I ever tasted. The biscuits weren t fresh and the chicken I would rate a 3/10. I ve had this food before in Victoria and it was way better. Won t go back to this location it was a total waste of money and I ended up throwing out most of the food.
