Servers are so attentive, happy and friendly. I cant say enough about the food...delicious, fast and beautiful presentation. Our favourite place to dine out in Duncan!

Great food service was good too

The food was almost inedible ! My husband ordered fish and chips the batter was a soggy mess barely any fish, only thing he liked on the menu because they had NO buns that weren t onion or garlic for their burgers My shrimp tacos were gross! Some salsa on top of the shrimp which tasted like out of a jar and the shells were stale . This meal cost us $92!! We never felt so ripped off never going to any mikes locations ever again

We have family members that are Celiac gluten free options were few. Would like to see more options. Otherwise we love Mr. MIKES Dietary restrictions: Sea food and gluten

The full cascadia salad order had wilted lettuce and browning cut edges. However, what I did manage to eat before noticing the wilted lettuce, was very tasty with poppyseed dressing. The soup was served lukewarm and asked server to have it heated. She brought it back hot and tasty. The seafood pasta was lacking enough sauce and asked for more sauce. She returned with more sauce.

Love the bacon Mike Burger! And if you dont eat all of your fries you have room for the Sticky Toffee Pudding! Add ice cream to it and its the BEST!

The booth seats could use some love, we all left with bits of the pleather fabric all over us- our backs & legs, it was gross. Service is average, food is decent, adequate parking. However, I feel restaurant could use a deep clean. Food

Came into Mr Mikes for dinner. We have been here many times and have always had a good experience, not today. One server took our drink order, another took our food order and yet another brought our food. When the drinks were brought they didnt give us coasters, so the table got water all over it. No one did a quilty control check as a result I had to go up the the bar to get more napkins. I also had to go up to the bar to get a second drink. Our empty plates sat on the table for a very long time after we finished eating. It wasnt busy! We wont be back here for a long time!

Its ok. Food is little spendy for what you get. Dont order the 1, 2, 3 steak meal... go for the steak specials and get a better deal. Its good enough but make the smart move and stick to the seasonal specials.

We usually go to the Mr Mike in Langford as its great but we were going through Duncan and decided to stop by that one. The service was good. The food was Not. The fries came way over cooked, my kid and I could not even eat them, the server was happy to get us a new plate as she even noticed that they were over done. My salad.... the carrots were dry and bendy ( I even tied one into a knott), so not very fresh at all. About 10 to 20 minutes after dinner, all 3 of us got an upset stomach.

The food was good, the price was high, and the service was slow, I felt contained to only one item on their menu because I didnt want to pay $50 for dinner at a casual place. Otherwise, the spicy sandwich I got was good and something to note . It was actually spicy, awesome compared to many other places that advertised spicy food that comes out bland and not spicy at all.

Mr. Mikes = Mike Burger they nailed it, the taste takes me back to my childhood every time. I try other things from the menu and theyre always good, but the Mike Burger is my favorite.

We can a month or so ago and sadly the food wasn t up to par. They reached out asking if they could make it up to us. And they went above and beyond today. They gave us a gift card for our meals. The food was fresh, hot and cooked perfectly. It was clear the first time was just a bad night which every one has. Thanks for the make up. It was great. And my son said the steak was better than home!

Paid 55 dollars for 2 drinks a dip with chips and 3 shrimps. What a joke. Shrimps not cooled well at all and the dip tasted like a feta cheese. Just horrible and not worth the money what so ever. Left there hungry and confused Then the waitress told me she can show me the menu to read what i ordered. Like what.....

Quite simply, one of the worst meals Ive had in a long time. Bruschetta was gross, forks and knives magnetized.

All 12 of us had a wonderful time celebrating our Mothers birthday!!We had the patio all to ourselves.Perfect! The Food was hot & very delicious.Mike burgers have been my favorite since the 1970s ! Our server was outstanding,she did an excellent job,Well done !

Food was decent, service was a little slow. Where you lost me was the complete disregard for the condition of the seats. When management fails to fix torn and tattered seating, it reflects on their management skills. Hopefully this disregard doesnt run into the kitchen. Doubtful I would come back or recommend this place again.

Fabulous steak! No dishes!

Our server was an absolute delight (can t recall her name, young lady with blonde hair) she was happy, smiley, tentative and just an overall breath of fresh air. Food was ok, over salted on every item which caused the low review. Price I can t agree with because as a long term customerthe portions are far smaller for a higher price then in the past, overall I think it s a bit steep for what you get. Atmosphere was good, seating could use an update as they are very own out.

I made a reservation over the phone on Thursday with proof of the phone call I went on Sunday for my BIRTHDAY and was told they must have not put it in the system and literally said too bad for you and you ll have to wait after 30 minutes still not being seated we were told to then wait even longer my whole party of 7 had to leave and go eat at white spot so glad we left we had great service and food at white spot. I would never recommend this place and if you make an appointment make sure you call every single day to remind them because they will forget and not apologize for their mistakes.

Waited at the door for over 10 minutes before a server finally came over only because she had to get something from the stand and we asked how long till we could get a seat I dont know shrug your shoulders and walked away. In that 10 minutes I saw three other couples come into the restaurant wait for 2 minutes and turn around and leave. Why is there no hostess at the door greeting people? One at a friendly face at an actual wait time so you know if you can reserve a seat and come back later? Do you not want business? I understand about the restaurant was busy however you want to keep it busy.

Its my fault I should of read menu, I had ribs didnt know it came wth fries . I would hve liked mashed potatoes. An my other guests asked for medium rare steak an it was well done . There was too much salt an seasoning on the fries , as to why me an my husband couldnt eat fries . Other wise was Great our server was on top of Everything!

We normally loved Mr Mikes in Duncan but the past 4 times we have gone we have been turned away either due to a sign on the door that they are closing early due to staffing, being told wait time for a table is 50+ minutes, being told they are no longer seating people because the kitchen has all new employees in training and that they wait for food is over an hour, finally this past Friday we went and the server greeted us and was about to seat us, but advised again that training was happening in the kitchen and food super backed up and they were 45 mins behind. Super disappointed. On a Friday night there shouldn t be a kitchen full of training employees, it s one of the busiest nights of the week.

Been here a few times in the past two months for lunch only, the food is really good the service has been great and the atmosphere is acceptable during busy lunch service. Prices are reasonable and the wait for fresh food to your table has been relatively quick allowing time to enjoy lunch and get back to my job in under an hour.

Love going here I rarely have I had a bad meal its been years since Ive had a complaint about a meal.

Went for lunch yesterday,, restaurant was very busy at 1:30pm on a Tuesday. Party of three . We waited for 5 minutes while the staff cleaned up some tables . We ordered our drinks and food and in less than 15 minutes we had hot food and drinks which were all perfectly cooked , we all had Mike Burgers and lobster cheese dip. Everything was great and food and service was amazing. Will definitely be back .

My wife ordered us dinner at 530pm for pickup at 605pm, she got there and the order hadnt gotten to the kitchen yet, she continued to wait 45 mins before our food was done, made it home to find a missing Cesar salad, stale bread used for Mike burgers, and the overall taste was poor compared to normal. Tried to call, and the number hangs up on us. Tried to email, no reply. I have to say normally we really enjoy mr mikes food and service, but this is just sad. All we wanted was a replacement dinner to make up for it, and we cant even contact you.

Not overly impressed with the lunch service. It was slow and lack lustre, the hostess and server werent overly friendly and certainly didnt take much care in checking in. Our news years dinner plans fell through and the wonderful staff squeezed my husband and I, and our infant son in and we were so satisfied!! Weve never had bad food or bad service here, but tonight definitely justified for a review. Thank you to the whole staff there!!

Our first time at Mr. Mikes and we will definitely be back. Our server Anita was amazing, personable, friendly and had great timing. Haven t eaten out in a while but was driving through last week and decided to come here. I was a bit surprised at the portions. Beef dip was $22 and $4 for onion rings instead of fries. So $26. I got 7 onion rings of various sizes and the beef dip was half a hoagie bun. I was a bit shocked. This was the first place I ve ever had a beef dip that was half the size and it cost $22. Most places it s around $18 for a full one. Kind of disappointed. Also the waitress was a bit curt. The kid meal billing was a bit odd as they gave a random charge for a drink on the bill. She tried to argue that we ordered a full size burger for an 8 year old (kid had a steak and not a burger) and that we were charged for the drink cause it is not included in adult meals (kid had a kid meal). She had no idea what our meals even were and didn t understand the billing system which had nothing to do with her. We just were asking why there was a random and small charge for a drink when it stated it was included with the meal. We figured out it s just how they make the bill. But this girl had no idea and was trying to accuse us how bad we were to question things and blamed it on being a long night and short staffed . Felt super awkward. I should be able to question my bill and the charges and not be told by staff we ordered things we didn t. She had no idea what was going on. Stars are only for the cook. The food was really good for what little we got. The steak my spouse ordered was also smaller than the kids one. Cost was over $30 for that and a handful of fries. There are pictures posted on here. I should have looked at pictures first. Good thing my kid didn t eat it all so hubby got his left overs.

Somewhat disappointed in the time required to receive our food. Restaurant wasn t busy at all but was 20 minutes for 1 appetizer to come. I was very disappointed in my meal. Been going to Mikes for 35 plus years and known for their burgers I received a bought in, rectangular pre packed burger. Staff was great about how they handled it, removing from overall bill but I compare getting a Mikes burger like that to getting a plant based steak at the Keg. Not what they should be serving.

I had higher hopes for this place :( To start off on a positive note, our sever Piper (was her second day on shift) was a real go getter! Very friendly and helpful - she will do well at any restaurant. Now, for the food. Sirloin Steak .... 5/10 Parmesan Fries..... 2/10 Seasonal Veg ...... 1/10 Very average steak, I feel like any person could make a better one really, just felt like no effort was put into it. Best part about it was that it was perfectly cooked medium rare. Other than that, blah. Fries, I mean what can you say about frozen french fries? The fries tasted good I guess (not parm part tho .. I suspect not fresh garlic was used) but paying $30+ per plate I would expect hand cut, made in house fries. Seasonal veg.... aye... I wish they were better grilled, it was just bland, steamed, sugary broccoli and carrots. meh!

Updated. Our waitress was fantastic. She was attentive, cheerful, on the ball and accurate. The food however was pretty bad this time. The lodge burger was dry and tasteless. I found this really strange because I almost always have a burger there and they are almost always really good. My wife found the same thing with her lodge burger. And the onion rings were dry and chewy?!? Whats up with that??

Was there recently and I dont know whats changed. Everything was just meh. I had shrimo tacos and wasnt really impressed. They fell apart and there just seemed to be no flavour. Hubby had the steak sandwich and it was ok, but a little tough. Its not just the Duncan one either, we werent impressed with the one we stopped at on the mainland.

Waited 20 minutes to get water and 2 ice teas,waited just shy of an hour to get our meal ,2 burgers my wifes was warm if that,mine was very greasy and had very soggy buns,was like it had sat under a heat lamp/element for some time ,burgers where bland very little flavour ,definately not like it used to be years ago.I get it can be busy but come on almost an hour for a couple of burgers,not the best at all for $ 60 ,and yes this was the second time this happened ,dont waste your money or your time,,,,,

This is our second time going to Mr. MIKES but the first time at the Duncan location and unfortunately it wasnt a good overall experience. The portions were very small, the plates were different, compared to the G.P, AB location we went to couple months prior to. I ordered a prawn and scallop fettuccine entree and it was super soupy like. My husbands burger wasnt as flavourful and the bun was stale along with the salad wilted. We couldnt believe we paid 3.29 for a side of 3 onion rings. It was absolutely ridiculous! 3 kids had kids meals and again, portions were ultra small. We were so disappointed at that particular location due to the lack of consistency. They say the first impressions are everlasting, and Duncan location could learn a few things from other locations, I wouldnt want come back to this location to spend another $100+ to be disappointed again. I would rather go to another restaurant like Jakes. Parking: Ample of space Kid-friendliness: They had games, colouring pages available

We frequent this location many times. This passed visit, although the service was great, they were in the process of training a new cook. We did get the correct food, temperature after a bit. Like every other restaurant, they are struggling to recover from Covid and dealing with shortages of staff. Today, my friend and I had an amazing lunch and an absolutely delightful waitress who, despite being on the run/busy was attentive and happy. I will definitely return soon for another meal.

Had a reservation for 10 people. Lost a star because another server was very vocal about how we were 5 minutes early and she was not taking us, fine by us as the server who arrived 10 minutes later was amazing. Too bad the first server couldn t even greet us or bring water to the table, just stood at the bar chatting. Our actual server was so kind and took my mother in laws salad off the bill as it was poorly made, even though she didn t complain about it.

Love the food, the service is great but everytime i travel from Nanaimo and they say theyre open we are turned away due to short staffing. If youre looking for work please go apply so everyone can have a chance to support these restaurants.

The experience of visiting Mr Mikes is not to be forgotten. The food is very nicely cooked and the staff excellent in their approach and demeanour. Love this place.

We love Mr. Mike s in Duncan! They always make us feel very welcome, and accommodate our special needs. The service is warm and friendly on every visit. We often go after a visit to the Chemainus Theatre and they are flexible about our iffy arrival time. Wheelchair accessibility: My husband has a large power wheelchair and they always reserve a table where he is best able to manoeuvre into a comfortable spot for him.

I always feel at home. Friendly service. Food consistently good. Family and kid-friendly. A good place to linger and do some work if it isnt too crowded; they leave me alone and re-fill my coffee.

Went for my dads 74th birthday. Writing at the table while he eats. His food came out cold, then when he asked it corrected, his medium rare steak was well done, as it appeared microwaved (sour cream had a solid skin on it). Attached is an over $40 filet. Now a chewie mess. Sprite refill came in a wine container. Server seemed almost too The server did offer a replacement, or to comp it, however advised the back of house was still in training. Front of house staff looked absolutely defeated as they did their best to be professional while you could see them expecting a complaint. They closed the restaurant before we left at 7:30.

Fantastic food best stirfry I ve had on the island my family really enjoyed their meals too we will definitely be back favourite restaurant on the island.

Wish the vegetables were more evenly cooked some were hard some were soft. The steak and shrimp were amazing and the other issue was pop refill was in a small juice glass with no ice so pop issue was more temperature not a volume issue . Overall great dining.

We ordered medium-rare steaks but they were served well-done. The vegetables were unevenly cooked with some of the carrots crunchy. Service was slow, admittedly they were busy, but staff appeared to be quite inefficient and possibly quite new. We were offered a 20% discount on our steaks after our server saw how well-done they were. A discount of 20% hardly seems an appropriate response when we are served steaks that are tough and dried out. It was a disappointing dining experience and we wont be back.

10 minutes before we were acknowledged because the staff was too busy chatting. Ordered an appy and never got it wrung in. Got our food after 45 minutes and there really was only us and 5 other tables.

Food was terrible. The steak sandwich only has one slice of bread and no sauce. How is that a sandwich. Waiters were friendly.

We waited an hour to be seated. And then 40 more minutes for our food. Then all of our food was half raw. Waited another 20mins for them to re-cook it. And then to top it off it still wasn t cooked. Just seemed like they wanted to chase us away. Mr mikes deserves this bad review tonight. Please do better.

We waited 45 min to be seated, cooks under cooked my steak, requested for steak to be cooked med while! Steak came back burnt! Who is the cook? Very disappointed....

Ordered blue rare steak sandwich and received well done steak that had no colour to it. This piece of shoe leather sat on a tough crust of bread accompanied by multiple onion rings. No suggestion of food presentation. Should never have to return a steak at a steak house resturant. I definitely won t be dining there again.

Management needs to inform. Customers who have been told a 20 min wait that we are being turned away after waiting 10 mins dont send the hostess. Short staffed or not thats very unprofessional to kick us out after waiting for a seat. 2 others decided to leave after us, please confirm this occurrence.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Ordered the prime rib dip. Only to realize it s half of regular sandwich. Their fries were amazing, if only they could season their over priced prime rib sandwich, even a decimal as much as they did the fries. Tenderness was on par, but almost as if they had boiled the meat. FLAVORLESS. My wife got the rack of ribs and it was the same thing. If I m going to pay 100+ for a meal I expect a little more The waitress we had completely ignored the fact I had something to say and cut me off half way thro explaining my point, just to push the cheque down my throat. If you going to spend 100$ might as well go to triple O s and get 4 burgers. As they would be higher quality than MR.MIKES in Duncan. What a joke.

There was an error in my home delivery. When I called, the manager Nicki took full responsibility as per training new staff. She was empathetic, very professional and fixed the issue. Nicki then went above and beyond. The meals were delicious as always and I will continue to eat here eh we were all new at one point.

Todays experience was not the greatest. I would say they forgot about our order. 45 minutes to get 1 appy, another 30 minutes for our food, seemed like they were forgotten under the warming lights as plates were very hot.No one came back to check and see if everything was okay. We waited and waited for our server to come back. She was very apologetic. It took just shy of 2 hours and we got there at 3:50, and it wasn t busy at the time.

Our Server Taya was absolutely amazing! I mean, seriously, she was like a breath of fresh air. And let me tell you, the chefs in the kitchen deserve a big, fat kiss for the incredible food they whipped up. I am beyond impressed, especially after all those years of swearing Id never step foot in a Mr Mikes again because of that horrendous experience in Langford. But Taya and the entire Mr Mikes crew completely turned things around for me. They made this visit extra special, and let me tell you, they are definitely back on my list of go-to restaurants for a fantastic family dinner. I cant thank them enough for the outstanding meal they served us. I mean, seriously, it deserves a solid 5 stars, without a doubt!

TERRIBLE SERVICE don t waste your time. Never are we coming here again. We sat for 25 mins and our waiter ignored us. Then we got up to leave and the same waiter told us to take care Absolutely abysmal service. Don t give these people your money.

The restaurant seemed understaffed. My meal (beef dip) was overcooked and lacking in flavour. My partners burger was good, though the garlic parmesean fries were underwhelming. Though drink refills were requested, none were brought. The staff were polite but overall very little time for us. I thought my food might have been improved by more sauce, but was not asked how my food was, so no opportunity to request more horseradish. Anyway, in a nutshell, burger was good, but that is about it. Maybe the steaks are better since that is their specialty? Might be willing to come back to try the dinner service and steaks. Kid-friendliness: Kids loved their food. There were activity mats and crayons.

Steak was a bit tough. Would od appreciated a refill of my diet coke.

Vegetarian options: Veggie stir fry is super good and the spicy fungi burger is amazing. Parking: All good.

Incredible waitress Brittany made our Anniversary a very special night. She was quick to resolve an incorrectly prepared steak and the meal was delicious otherwise! Try the garlic Parmesan fries with a Lodge lager for an appetizer! So good!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Mr.Mikes on Monday the 13th of November. I ordered the classic Mr Mike burger and my husband had the bacon Mike burger. Both delivered promptly and were exactly what we ordered. We also had the pleasure of having Camryn serve us. She was so fast and professional, when I get amazing service I have to share! Ive been there twice in the last month both times stakes were cooked perfectly. Chicago medium rare.

Went in and the long bench seat by the bar looks like cheap motel..all peeling and rough. Ceasar salad soaked in dressing to the point I.l couldnt get it all down. Baked french onion soup was mostly all bread. Definitely not great and we wont be returning. Server was friendly.

the service was really nice but the food fir the price is really disappointing. its worse than a low end fast food drive thru. just the day before we were at a waterfront seafood place in Victoria for lunch and the bill ended up being the exact same with tip included, the difference is 70$ on the seafood place was worth it, where the taste and quality of food at Mr. Mikes made me feel we got ripped off.

There was only one chef when we went so wait time was a bit long. Always great food. Only complaint was it was cold inside. Bring a sweater!

Had a great time a little mix up with our order new waiter but did a good job of correcting the problem thanks to the manager and all the staff food and service was great and will definitely return.

Serving staff were very friendly and quick to serve considering being short staffed. Food was good but a little pricey but that seems to be the norm now. All in all a good exprience.

We had a date night at Mr Mikes last night and really enjoyed the food and the service. Issac was a great server. The food was delicious.

Poor service. Very small portion

Ordered a medium rare steak, waited 45 minutes and it came out rock hard beyond well done. Got it remade and it came out blue rare. Didnt eat it. Potatoes and vegetables were cold as well. My son enjoyed his burger though. Picture is blue rare steak being held up by a big vein

Dine in experience is pleasant. Changes have been made and the presentation of food is much more appealing now. The sirloin is a bit tough so upgrade to the better cuts if youre expecting a tender steak.

Server said the menu had been tweaked when told the food was too spicy. Asked for sour cream to help, got about two teaspoons worth. Its sad, I used to love Mr. Mikes but now, I dont think Ill go back.

Stars are for the quality of food, my son enjoyed it. I will however say, whoever is hostess tonight with shorter blonde hair was absolutely rude. I placed an online order and when I went to pick up she kept shrugging us off. Regardless how busy you are, approach customers with a smile not a snarl it will be a wait without giving us the opportunity to say I was there for an order I already paid for. Wont go back, that hostess shouldnt work there.

Really poor quality food. While I had great service from my server, the burger I ordered tasted far worse than a cheap fast-food burger. The patty was a rubbery, previously frozen mystery meat that I would say best compares to a vacuum packaged burger that someone might find at a convenience store. Unfortunate, as I had high hopes after looking at the appetizing menu, however I will definitely not be returning with that lack of quality.

We ordered in a couple steak sandwiches and Ceasar salads. None of it was edible. All the lettuce was brown and steaks were way over cooked and grislley. So disappointed and it wasnt cheap. I dont understand how the chef could even put this food out, he or she should consider a occupational change. Wont order from there again.

Delicious food. Customer service was good it was not overly busy the day I went so we were served quickly and adequately. I love the little bucket style chips I was given I thought it was cute.

Not impressed at all. The Classic Mr. Mikes burger had nothing on it but patty and bun. No lettuce, no tomato, no onions. Nothing. And the bun - a dry piece of french bread. My wife had a bacon burger that was dry and over priced. And our daughter-in-law had a stake sandwich with a small stake on one piece of french bread. Not what I call a sandwich. Not sure if the pandemic has changed things as we were there 3 years ago and had a nice meal but the food today is less than impressive. At $90 for lunch , we will not return.

Looked at google hours last week and drove 30 minutes because it said they were open till 9 got here closed due to staff . Called this am and asked what time they were open as their hours say 9 she says 8. I call back 20 minutes later and ask if I need a reservation for 7 people and was told no reservations were being taken. I drove another 30 minutes to get there and be told sorry we can t serve you tonight We are short staffed. Wish I knew this before making the trip with hungry kids .

Stood where it says wait to be seated, I looked around the corner to see if anyone was working saying hello?! Ten mins and still no one to seat me or the other people just standing waiting forever. Walked out. Eating somewhere else.

The fact that the overall review for this Mr. Mikes location is ANYTHING below 5 stars is appalling to me! My girlfriend and I had a gift card for a date night at Mr. Mikes. The music volume and the lighting were perfect and the food was served quickly and it was worth every Penny. Absolutely to die for. Our experience at this location was nothing short of perfect, and it was mostly thanks to our AMAZING waitress Camryn. My girlfriend said it perfectly: she is the kind of waitress who makes you feel like you are still at home! So personable & casual, but still professional and efficient! We will 100% be coming back to this location, and we ll wait until a table of hers is available! Recommend to anyone reading this: ask for Camryn!

We tried to make our Christmas party reservations for 12-14 people and were told no . We hadn t even given them a date!! Apparently they will not take reservations for more than 8 people. We asked if we could get 2 tables and we were told no . No other explanation or trying to accommodate us. We have been having our staff dinner there for the last 10 years and had noticed that the menu has shrunk over the past few years with fat lees orbs available and that the quality had also declined. We made a reservation for elsewhere that has a far more comprehensive menu and all are really looking forward to this year s Christmas staff dinner.

Steak was chewy also asked for medium got a very very rare almost blue steak it was still cool in the middle the vegetable was green beans and they were inedible raw and chewy potatoes were fantastic and the waitress was outstanding I will try again to eat here in the future : second time in ordered tenderloin x2 one tenderloin and one ribeye cut in half for the wife , wife complained they refired but gave her exactly the same steak l( probably the second portion of the rib eye) the manager came over the second time and actually shushed my wife as she tries to explain the cut of meat presented to her ( my wife was a meat cutter for 8 years )we boxed up the meal didnt get any compensation and threw out the chewy tenderloin got a burger from AandW the waitress was very good ,the food was not and the manager was not very professional at all I would recommend against going there for anything we will not be going back to this establishment for anything ever
