Swiss Chalet in East Gwillimbury

It was a great restaurant at one time had a great atmosphere now the atmosphere is terrible. Prison lights over the tables are horrible. Dinner at best was warm , used to get a steaming hot meal, not anymore.

Even on a very busy night we were able to have a great family dinner. B was our server and even with other tables to tend to she made sure we were taken care of.

Parking: Disability parking not enough Food

Your manager needs communication training. Horrible. Tried to make a reservation it was like pulling teeth asking for a seating and a possible time frame. Incredibly rude and hostile to my family members. Don t talk crap when we re in ear shot too. For real made us so uncomfortable we had to cancel the reservation and leave the restaurant. The hospitality for the manager is incredibly uninviting. I understand it being the holiday season but like kindness and respect please. This place was a usual spot of my family and I for the holidays and it s been lost.

Went to the East Gwillimbury location for take-out. They must have been having some system issues as they were having problems processing customer orders. When we finally got to the front of the line, the young girl taking our order was having a tough time entering it. The whole order processing time took close to 10 mins to place. I felt bad for her as I didn t know if she was a new hire or not, but she kept having to go back to the kitchen area to get help. When we got home, we noticed that we were missing our double chicken leg dinner, 2 extra gravy orders and a mash potato order!! I tried calling the restaurant several times and never was my call answered. I then called their call centre and spoke with an agent that said she would not be able to help me because the order was placed in the restaurant and not through the call centre. She redirected my call back to the store location. I decided to hang up after no one answered after the phone rang 18 times. Very disappointed at the lack of customer service received. I would love the opportunity to discuss my situation with the store manager.

The takeaway was ready and packed well.

We were happy to be served by Jon as he was very sweet and helpful :) we will be back!

I ordered a Festive Special with rice. After waiting 20 minutes in line I paid for the Festive Special and drove home. What I received was a quarter chicken with fries, and no festive special trimmings.

Food always good. However, on my most recent visit, as I waited at the counter, an uber driver cut infront of me in line & 2 separate employees helped her. Making me wait for another 10 minutes, until a completely different employee helped me instantly. Please train your employees to help paying customers first. Over an uber driver whom is being paid to stand there.

On October 31 I came with my family 10 people and let me tell you the experience wasent very good the tables were very sticky the fries tasted terrible probably the oil that they were fried in was very old and it needed very much to be changed every one left them in the plates not even the kids ate them and you know kids they love fries We spend close to 400.00 dollars and we were not happy when I mentioned it to your waitress all she said she was sorry. I m sorry I don t think that we will be coming back anytime soon. Thank you.

Been a while since we had a meal at this Swiss Chalet. Seems to be running (as are a great many restaurants) on minimum staff in the kitchen. When the meals arrived, most disappointed in the chicken sandwich. Maybe they ran out of kaiser, as the sandwich bun was practically the size of a dinner roll. The chicken parm was warm, but not overly so. Im not sure if it was all chicken. The shredded cheese didnt melt and over half the cutlet was not eaten. The chicken pot pie was hot, due to the pastry top. The beverages were the best part of this meal. Perhaps an off night, but I think not. It will be a while before we try Swiss Chalet again.

Took my family out for a lovely dinner and was greeted right away. We were served by Anna who was attentive and had a great personality and sense of humour. Overall a great experience.

I don t understand why the service at this location is so slow. I ve been here 3 times now and the service is always at a snails pace. The most recent visit was early evening (3pm) with just me and my son for dinner, and I didn t see any more than 2 other tables dining and we still spent over an hour there. Not to mention I had to get up to find someone to just get a bill. Waitress forgot to give the chocolates for the festive special but gladly took her tip and disappeared in the back. Chicken was more pink than I would ve liked but we haven t got sick . Severely lacking in diversity (for the front staff at least). Would recommend going to any other location!

Seated in the dining room, the manager decided to scold one of the servers/host beside my table for something very minor. He spoke to her very disrespectfully, borderline abusive. And yes I could hear the conversation. She had been very kind and sweet to me prior and it s a shame that this person is in a leadership role.

Ive visited this restaurant multiple times, and each time Ive been served dry chicken, lukewarm fries. Given the high cost of dining out, youd expect better service and food quality, but this place falls short. I dont recommend it.

Anna was amazing with our family

We made a reservation for a group of 11 plus one infant. It was to celebrate 4 birthdays within the group. That being said Anna was our server and words can not express the experience we had. I come here often with my daughter and my parents for lunch and by far this is the best Swiss Chalet I ve ever been to. The food is always fresh, the service is always 10/10 and the manager is very welcoming along with his staff and always has a positive attitude. The place is also very clean and cosy as well. My parents sometimes even travel from Toronto to come to this location on their own. Always 10/10!

Dear Owner. It has been brought to my attention that you have instituted a policy surrounding the bottomless soft drinks that requires a customer to drink ½ a glass of pop before a free refill will be permitted. I address this to you as I was told several times its the owners policy. Im going to assume that a glass of diet Pepsi costs you 30¢ (you charge either $2.99 or $3.99, I could not find an actual price online) Lets do some math. We used to visit this location regularly once per week. there was a rare 2nd visit per week here and there. Did we come every week?, no, but for the sake of argument lets say we visited 40x per year. How many years? I kid you not when I say the last 9-10 years. (Ask your staff, they know us and can verify) On average our bill, including tax, would be anywhere between $90-$120 + tip of generally 15-20%. Yes, I know tips are not required, they are optional, but generally speaking the service industry does not pay its workforce appropriately, and relies upon gratuities to pay their bills. So, today we are seated and we were asked our drinks, we order the same.exact.identical.order.every.single.time.we.go.there. 3 people, we get 3 diet Pepsi, no lemon, no lime, no ice, and only 1 straw. At this same moment I ask for a second glass of pop for my self, since they are free refills (meaning I can drink as much or as little as I want for the same price), as I typically drink the 1st rather quickly, and enjoy the 2nd with my meal. I was quickly told of this new pop policy, and said no, please get me whoever told you this as its incorrect. I believe it was the dining room manager that came out. She was quick to tell me its the owners policy, I told her this is not right, I specifically point out to her that she Infact knows we are very regular customers, we are polite to staff, we dont give the staff problems, we dont make any messes, and we always tip. I am not trying to say we are the best customers ever, or even close, but I feel confident in saying we are above average. Back to the math. I feel safe in saying that we have visited this specific location between 350-400x over the last decade. Our average bill, Ill say $75 excluding taxes and tips. $75 x 350 visits = $26,250. The future is impossible to predict, but lets say our situation stays the same by only 50% over the next 9-10 years, thats lost revenue of $13,000 to you. $13,000. 1 more time, $13,000. Basically we have spent in this 1 location only, $26,000. You wouldnt give me 30¢ worth of diet Pepsi. Potential loss for you over the next 9-10 years, $26,000 + increases over time. You wouldnt give me 30¢ worth of diet Pepsi. We cancelled our order, and were out the door in under 2 mins. Revenue for you today, $0. Revenue for you tomorrow, $0. Revenue from us to you ever again? $0. We literally went across the street to East Side Marios, had all the free refills we wanted without question, ate our meals, cheque was $115, we tipped $25. Revenue to you, $0, because you wouldnt give me 30¢ of diet Pepsi at the start of what should have been an enjoyable meal/experience.

I brought a group to SWISS CHALET that I belong to, and there was 25 of us. The service was perfect the waitresses Erin and Anna did such a wonderful job. We were a bit of a handful for a bit, but still everything was just perfect. What a great job they did. Parking: We had no issues. Lots of space.

Ordered twice from here in the past 4 months. Order took almost 2 hours to arrive. Food was cold and inedible. Very disappointed in this location. Would not recommend.

It sat for quite some time at first but then another waitress explained she would take my order as my waitress was busy. She was fabulous and attentive. Mr actual waitress was just ok, never checked back and appeared not well organized to deal with more than one table. She spent a lot of time with one table of folks she appeared to know.

I ve ordered on the app and via phone a few times over the last month maybe month and a half and there s always an issue. Today I ordered a half chicken meal for my partner and I to split and when it was delivered first the driver accused me of not paying because I redeemed some of my scene points for 20 dollars off and then paid the difference. When I brought the order inside and I opened the package there was only a quarter chicken. When I called the store to ask them to replace the meal they put me on hold for 5 minutes and then hung up the phone on me. I don t understand what is so difficult about packing and order and then driving the order to its destination that Swiss chalet doesn t seem to understand but they have been doing this for a long time they really need to clean up the act. Update: the manager said that if she had another driver she would send them over with the replacement meal and that they would take the wrong order back. When the driver showed up he gave me a new bag that only had the chicken meal it didn t have the extra side or rolls or sauce or drinks and when I asked about he said here you go and gave me an empty bag with ketchup and butter packets. These drivers are rude and Swiss chalet customer service is terrible. They should fire who ever is in charge and clean house. After calling customer service to speak to someone to resolve my issue they said sorry sucks to be nothing we can do you have to deal with the restaurant directly but the restaurant says to deal with head office and when you ask to speak to someone in charge like a supervisor or manager and was told that Swiss chalet doesn t have those.

My dining experience at Swiss Chalet was very enjoyable, all thanks to the exceptional service provided by mykyta. From the moment we were seated, his warm personality and genuine hospitality set the perfect tone for the evening. My partner has very specific eating requirements and he professionally guided us through the menu, taking the time to understand her concerns and offered great recommendations. Swiss Chalet is fortunate to have such a dedicated and skilled server on their team.

My family and I came to this location during dinner at around 6:30pm. We were seated quickly and our waiter got us our drinks fairly fast except for the fact that our waiter spilt our drinks all over us which ruined our shirts, pants, shoes, phones and my moms 200$ purse. After that happened we requested if we could just do takeout since we were all sticky and wet . In return they bring the food all packaged and expect us to pay full price for everything. The least the manager could have done was given us any amount of discount. This ruined my families night and we will not be coming back anytime soon due.

Been a long time since Ive eaten at a Swiss Chalet. Food and service was great. I love watching the food delivery robots. Had the lemonade and messy sandwich with fries and a salad. Big portions, couldnt finish. Reasonable price. Floors were a bit slippery by the kitchen. Secret parking around back.

Update on my review We went today < Valentines day> place was packed ...kudos to the manager who we spoke to many time in the past..everything was great and time were very reasonable. My ask for the TV ...PLEASE CHANGE CP24....it is depressing We came on a school night with 2 children and waited over an hour for 2 kids meals and 2 adult meals. Absolutely absurd and the room was filled with a light smoke from the cooking. Terrible time management with cooking and how many people were able to be seated if time was going to be so long. The waitress was wonderful and obviously was very sorry for the time we waited with small kids Update Manager called me and explained what happenedand offered my kids a free meal.

Take out order was great from ordering online to pick up at the restaurant, great service.

I have been coming to this location for a while now and this is the last time. I ordered the chicken quesillda and found grizzle pieces of chicken through out the quesillda, my fries were under cooked. The best they could was offer a 20% discount off my entire bill
