i am a single mother. Yesterday I brought my daughter here to celebrate her birthday. The food was delicious, but my daughter was very disappointed because when they brought out the birthday cake, they werent with her and sang her happy birthday song. She had seen them singing happy birthday songs to other people before. I was disappointed when we came to order food and pay like everyone else, but it was not fair.

Extremely Disappointing Avoid This Location This is the second time we ve had a bad experience at the Newmarket Keg, and it will definitely be our last. We ve always appreciated The Keg for its dependable quality and service, but this location has failed to meet even basic expectations on both occasions. Jan 13, 2023: When we arrived, we were seated promptly, and despite a power outage shortly after ordering, the staff assured us our meals would be prepared without issue. We waited nearly an hour, only to be told the kitchen couldn t accommodate our orders after all, and we were left without dinner. To make matters worse, there was no compensation offered, no attempt to rebook us for another night, and barely an apology. While power failures are unpredictable, the way this was handled was unacceptable, leaving us feeling completely dismissed. Dec 15, 2024: After almost a year, we gave the Newmarket Keg another chance, only to face an even more disappointing experience. I ordered a steak but was told my first, second, and even third choices were unavailable. I had to settle for what was left, which was a subpar cut of meat. My wife, who has allergies, ordered carefully but received her meal with additional items that she is allergic to. By the time her corrected dish arrived, my plate was cold, and the meal was ruined for both of us. In both situations, we received no compensation, barely an apology, and no response to a follow-up email sent to head office. This level of customer service is shocking for a restaurant with The Keg s reputation, and it s a stark contrast to the excellent experiences we ve had at other locations. We were willing to overlook the first incident, but after last night s fiasco, it s clear this location is poorly managed and not up to the standards The Keg is known for. Save yourself the disappointment and choose another location or a different restaurant entirely.

Unfortunately had a bad experience. Service was good but the food was terrible. Tasted like they accidentally drooped the salt on my chicken then said ah it s fine . Tried to contact management to talk about it but wasn t handled very professionally. I ve heard from others that too is going g downhill at this location. It s sad to see because I always used to celebrate special occasions there but it s changed

We went for a birthday celebration. Seems more tables were added in the central areas, bringing tables to close together. Not a intimate dining experience at the time. We made reservations. For next time, we must ask to reserve a booth.

Always a great night out with family

Food was good, service was AMAZING. My only complaint is that there were fruit flies flying around our table when we were trying to eat. It was annoying and kinda gross.

Typically, The Keg is known for its consistent quality in food and service, but our recent experience at the Newmarket location was far from that. The prime rib, ordered Chicago-style, arrived overly fatty and dry. We raised this with our server and the manager insisted to make it right offering us a substitute steak of our choice stating its on me. This time we chose the prime steak Chicago-style. Unfortunately, this was also disappointing as it was excessively salty and burnt on the outside which gave it a burnt food taste. At this point we didnt want to complain any more since the staff were very nice and doing their best to improve our experience but the preparation of the meat was repeatedly unsatisfactory and was not in par with our previous numerous experiences at The Keg. When the bill came, they had charged us full price for the prime steak which surprised us since the manager had said its on me. She did offer complimentary dessert and coffee, but we declined. This experience fell short of the standards we associate with The Keg. However, we do think its most likely location specific. Also the Au Jus sauce was very watery unlike the more viscous consistency weve had at the other Keg locations. We hope this feedback will help the Newmarket Keg location improve their food preparation process.

Between the quality of the food and the exceptional service, we keep finding ourselves returning to The Keg for all our life celebrations. My favourite items to order lately have been the rib steak, the prime rib sandwich, creme brulee and a Pina colada. I also love how theyve made a special section on the menu for zero proof drinks. I just saw they have duck confit on the seasonal menu which I cant wait to try. They take allergies very seriously and theyre constantly doing quality checks on the food and service. 5/5!

I was in for dinner with my family to celebrate a birthday, the Manager Monique brought a complimentary cake to our table, it was an unexpected gesture that really sets the newmarket keg aside from other restaurants I have been to. The entire team made our experience one to remember, we will be back to dine again soon.

Great prime rib!

We had my MIL s 65th bday dinner at the Newmarket Keg yesterday with 16 people and everything from the planning, accommodations and execution of the event was excellent. We had Connor and Leanne as our servers and they were absolutely perfect. There were some particular people in our party and their requests were fulfilled without a hitch. This was one of our better experiences at any Keg lately, everyone was happy with the food and the service. We highly recommend the Newmarket Keg location whether for a small dinner or larger dinner party.

All it takes is one bad experience! Me and 3 friends all go to the keg for our birthdays: great steak, great service, free Billy miner pie. Moreover, the experience is consistent. We went tonight, and hoped, at the very least, we would get our consistent and great service. Granted, this time we went with our baby - and if we had gotten the same service and meal we had gotten the last 10 times, we would have been fine. We get seated and think it peculiar we were not asked by the waitress if it was a special occasion. Weird, but we brush by it, knowing we ll announce it when it comes time for dessert. She then takes our drinks and our app orders. The apps come but they hadn t brought the bread yet, which we think is again, weird, so we ask the busboy to get it for us. At this point we re thinking the waitress just must be new. Very slow, not asking the patented keg questions etc. can be excused. By the time we finish our mains, it s been 1.5 hours. Which is LONG for the keg. Refreshing had we not had a baby with us. But, they usually turn around tables quickly, which we would have appreciated given we were dining out with our infant. It was at this point we decide that we need to step in gear and get out, else we ll have ourselves a crying baby. So we go out of our way to announce our friends bday, do the Billy miner pie, and ask for our bills. Pie comes, no bills, so we ask again. 20 minutes go by, haven t seen our waitress at all. It was at this point we notice how LOUD the music is (it usually isn t an issue but we were seated right below the speaker). So we stop another waiter who immediately gauges the situation and the waitress comes with our bills. Without the card machine. Sigh. All in all, a great meal with bad, slow service that we did not expect from the keg. I can appreciate having to train staff, maybe we just don t let the newbies handle the table with the baby.

Went here for my Moms Birthday and the staff were extremely kind and helpful. The Steaks were prepared fresh and were of high quality. 10/10 would recommend!

I had 8:00pm reservations at The Keg at Greenlane and Yonge on Saturday. Due to issues with a third party, our table was not ready for a while after our reservation time. Monique, came by and provided us with options, however we still required a relatively quiet spot, as hearing was an issue for one attendee. Monique continued to keep us informed as she resolved the issue. It was obvious that is was a very busy night, however she went, in my opinion, above and beyond to ensure that we felt welcome and attended to, during the wait. She got us seated and had already taken measures to ensure food was at the table shortly. We thank Monique very much for a lovely evening, regardless of how it started out, and still in a location where we could talk. Our thanks as well to those that I am sure are on her team, who helped in facilitating our evening. She saved the evening from that rough start, it was very well done and greatly appreciated!!

We love going to this location for dinner. Last night we were celebrating three birthdays. The waitress was awesome!! She was attentive to one person in our group with food sensitivity. Our on-line reservation was made well in advance with additional instructions about the three birthdays. A follow up call regarding the instructions was also made a few days before the reserved date/time. At the restaurant, only one note of a birthday celebration was noted.. a disappointment which caused a bit of embarrassment at end of our meal...Only one offer of the expected birthday desserts. Then a comment that one of our meals was overcooked but eaten anyway. We were all full and left once the bill was paid. With all the running around on part of waitress for the person with food sensitivity we decided to call it a day. Food quality not what was expected this given that the restaurant wasnt busy and such a cold,windy night.

A night out at The Keg is always a special occasion! This Saturday we were absolutely THRILLED with the food and outstanding, efficient and friendly service. However, the ambient noise was completely intolerable. We realize that Sat. nights are extremely busy but REALLY! Cant they implement some sound-baffling dividers or acoustic surfaces to absorb noise? The tables are really packed in and it was impossible to even have a conversation with our dining companions without shouting. The annoying disco music didnt help. Deeply disappointed that The Keg NEWMARKET can no longer be on our list of favourite dining destinations.

The food is great as always. Very nice and friendly staff and great service! Its a plus that theres ample parking available and lots of entry and exit points to access this location.

It was my daughter s and son in laws anniversary I was able to surprise them with the help of PAIGE to pay for their outstanding service and dinner the best part was when she asked was where are my parents ? We were not their as my wife and I had dined there just 2 days prior and as repeat customers having taken my daughter and son in-law several times in the past We knew that the services and food is the best ! We went for our one year anniversary and our waitress was Lisa. Not only was our food amazing but her personality really made our expect over the top. We got a dessert for our anniversary that she picked and it was absolutely amazing ! I ve ever had dessert at the keg before but from now on I definitely will be. This is the new Swiss chalet, by no means would I consider this a higher end restaurant anymore. The standard of service and food has gone downhill, so I wont blame the server but rather the management. Made a reservation for a special occasion with the spouse and still had to wait, not a big deal. Walking to our table there was a horrible smell almost like beer and throw up combined with bad body odour. Asked the server if she noticed as it was bothering us. Her reply, theres a large group of sweaty volleyball players having a party and there drinking alot of beer. Would have been nice to be seated somewhere else but maybe there were no other seats. It is very difficult to enjoy food with a terrible smell in the restaurant. Caesar salad had brown lettuce, steak had alot of silver skin and very tuff. Small portions with low quality dry vegetables. Very disappointing to spend almost 200$ on a dinner when I could have had similar experience at a dive bar. If you want somewhere to eat and enjoy drinks in a very casual dress code while over paying this is it. Maybe other locations are better or the standard has gone down for the keg.

Another great Keg experience! Bacon wrapped fillet mignon is a staple and prepared the same way across all Keg locations, the staff were all knowledgeable, skilled and friendly, the atmosphere is appropriate for family dinners, business lunches and anything in between. Dietary restrictions: Dairy-free was readily available, the on-floor manager came by to reassure us that he would handle the request personally. Parking: Plenty of parking, theres a movie theatre parking lot a 30 second walk away.

So it was my birthday you think they could at least cook the filet mignon correctly. Not well done on one side raw on the other. They did give me a new steak after my whole table had already finished their meals. It ruined the whole experience. They did not comp anything. ... definitely do not go for a special occasion . My wife and I were able to get away for a rare night out without our kids for a drink and some apps and decided on The Keg Newmarket, which never disappoints. We were served by Kelly again (lucky us) and even had the pleasure of taking to the location manager Paige who was just as amazing. We talked about our experience and how much we love this location and the staff. Service is excellent and the food is delicious. Strongly recommend the Tuna tartar. Will be back again soon most likely with the kids so get ready. Thank you Kelly, Paige and team for providing us with a much needed adult only night.

The Keg Caesar had no alcohol. I told the server but no resolution. Medium steak was done medium well. Salmon was tiny. Caesar salad had soggy croutons. Server stood over me watching while I paid by credit.

Terrific restaurant for meat eaters. -Attentive & courteous service. -Cozy and comfortable. -Not overly formal, but not too informal either. -There are lots of seating options, from the dining room, to the bar area, to the patio, weather permitting. **When you go to The Keg, you know youre going to have a good meal and a good time. Vegetarian options: Not a terribly wide selection of vegetarian options, but there are a few... Parking: There is a small parking lot near the front doors, but when that gets full, there is a very large parking lot very close by.

Never disappointed at the Keg. Yummy Mai tai. Delicious bread, tuna tartare with crisps. Ordered the Rib steak medium rare, was really nice and juicy, it may be a 3-in-1 steak. We had an amazing waitress, super friendly and good service.

We ordered take out . When we got back the potatoes looked microwaved and were terrible . The vegetables looked like they were sitting for 2 hours . Cold , wrinkled and over cooked . A 50 dollar prime rib was not cooked how we asked ... Full of fat and had been sitting for 30 min . Steak was not edible and super chewy . Good news is the sour cream was fine we called in to express our concern with the 140 dollar order . A manager named orestis ( kitchen manager) was put on the phone and asked us to email pictures. When I called back he did not express any of our concerns but yet treated me like I was a liar . Customer service was terrible . All he could said is he will escalate the concern . I will never go back here and I will tell everyone I know about the experience I had . Beware of terrible service and food .

We had a great experience at The Keg in Newmarket, a few weeks ago. The food was excellent, and our server was so kind and professional. There were enough runners so that our service was very prompt. For example: during dinner, we were offered a refill on our drinks by our server - when we said yes, she promptly entered the refill order into their system and another staff brought us our drinks within a minute. It was a busy Friday evening, too. We would highly recommend eating at this location.

At the specialty steak house, youre expecting a perfect steak, went to this location a few times and I would say food quality is ok, service is good and staff are so friendly.. but in the end youre going for good quality food, my steak was kind of cold last time and it really surprised me..

Was in the restaurant 8:30 pm, try to order prime ribs after server confirmed with kitchen. Being told after 15 minutes not available have to chage order. No bread was served at all. No steak knife?!?! Only butter knife.

Fantastic night of good food and wait staff friendly

My boyfriend and I went for a late dinner Friday night at 9:30pm in a booth in the bar area. We forgot our servers name, but she was the only bartender that evening I believe. She was great, friendly and provided fast service. The entire experience was 10/10 best service we ve had in a long time, maybe even ever.

Very dark inside hard to see

Food was not great and they gave tiny portions for the salad. When I eat in the portions are normal, when I did take out it was tiny. Such a disappointment. Do not do take out here they will rip you off. Even the shrimp, mushrooms and burgers we got were either under cook or tasteless.

Ordered the teriyaki sirloin 8oz. It looked more like 6oz and way way too salty. The twice baked potato was supposed to have bacon bits (microscopic??). Any other place that I ve had this had visible bacon bits, chopped green onion and sourcream.It appeared that they had just scooped the potato center out mashed it slightly and stuffed it back in ( totally tasteless). Very disappointed!

We had a really great meal - we came early because it s so busy normally, but not today. It was great, baseball game and music not too loud. Prime Rib was cooked to perfection. Baseball Steak was very tender. My only complaint was the broccoli- undercooked, beets were yummy. Training of new staff was happening and everyone was doing a great job.

*Take-Out Order* I m really concerned with the way my food was packaged for take-out. I ordered the tuna tartar appetizer, amongst other items, and was extremely disappointed. The kitchen staff chose to pack it in too large of a container and it caused for it to roll around and turn into complete mush. (photo attached) The wonton chips were under cooked & I had to air fry them at home. Also missing garnishes & lime. Waste of $18!!!! Very poor execution. I recommend further training for the team packaging the take out orders to avoid future disappointment. I ordered a baked potato which came packaged in a smaller container, this size would have been perfect to serve the tuna in.

This was my first time back to the keg in a few years. The stakes were okay but I ended up getting food poisoning the morning after the only thing that made my night. More enjoyable was having my beautiful girlfriend with me.

My family and I visited this location for a family member birthday. After eating here we got terribly sick. And after relaying all this information to the management there they took no accountability for anything and said it is not their problem. They went ahead to say they have no intention of solving this issue and don t care. I strongly urge you not to eat at this location as they are rude and clearly serving food that makes you sick. I have ate at different locations millions of times and never have had an issue or been dealt with in such a terrible way. On top of that we had asked our server And made note it was a birthday, which then proceeded to bill us out before and bday cake as they normal do and said they would. Making it very uncomfortable after me having to ask our server what happened to the cake and they then proceded to apologize because they forgot. Highly do not recommend coming to a he location.

Had dinner here this week with a friend. Service was top notch and very professional. Food was fantastic. The Mac and cheese was a little salty for my liking but still delicious. The only thing I highly disliked about this particular location was that when I arrived, I was fairly early to opening. I noticed all the closest parking spots, were taken by staff. I m sure you get a lot of elder people that don t have a handicap that would likely need those parking spots. Regardless of age .. I don t agree. The parking lot is massive so I do believe the staff shouldn t be taking the best .. closest spots.

I had my 40th birthday party there late January. We couldn t be so disappointed with the service. We spend well over $2k and the manager was rushing us and they made mistakes on our orders. Something we won t forget.

Ate the 24OZ steak from the hidden menu. My baby ate a 20OZ steak. I also ate small mushrooms. The service, food, and environment are all very good. An ordinary dinner for ordinary people. Visited the Keg In Newmarket bought a Billy Miner pie to take home .When I got it home the ice cream cake was like a milkshake desert was ruined .I then called them to tell management that and told me that The kitchen manager was going to call me .I still havent heard back from them I gues spending $600 is not worth a call back this is the last time I visit that place very poor standards for a place like that and very poor management NEVER AGAIN NEWMARKET KEG

I went to the Keg in Newmarket for dinner tonight. Food was ok, atmosphere is ok, service was ok but for $180 dinner it should be more than ok. It should have been phenomenal or awesome! It took 10 minutes for us to get any service and water, They forgot the bacon for the hamburger and they forgot my keg Caesar salad which was my dinner. I was sitting there while everyone else was eating thinking my salad would come, but it never did. Thankfully my sister shared her meal with me. The new garlic butter they have for the sour dough bread tastes gmo...doesnt even taste like butta! I used to love the keg and considered it fine dining at one point but for the past few years the taste, quality of the food and the experience has gone downhill yet prices have continue to go up. Save your money...Go across the parking lot to Swiss chalet. Their fries are at least better and the meal is cheaper, therefore u wont be as disappointed if they mess up your order. I did give 4 stars for service because the waiter was nice but thats about.

Amin was absolutely phenomenal. Ive come to expect quality service and great food but the absolutely over the top service, sense of humor and attentiveness recieved from Amin was second to none! We drove from Balm Beach to Newmarket and will do so again. Not because of the perfectly cooked salmon but because of the service received fro. Amin. (Not to say the host stand and kitchen didnt do their part, they were on point as well). Thank you for a great experience!

The Keg is one of those restaurants that is almost gaurenteed a great time with great food and drink. Never disappointed. Staff is always very friendly and professional, food is always good. This location in particular is always on point, great management! Highly recommend. Oh and Billy miner pie till I die!

Nice meal...had the peppercorn steak, was cooked well to my liking. Asked for extra sauce, which they gave me No problem. I chose the twice baked potato and that was damn good. Also, their bread they give you at the beginning with that butter? That was awesome also. Only reason they dont get 5 stars is because of the price...wow their prices have gone up huge. My steak was 50.00. Only 1 side, thats it. Our server was awesome and attentive and kind. Obviously prices are not her issue, but ya...might be a once a year place from now on. 2 people can easily run you over 200.00 with tax and tip.

Quality steaks, good burger although i find it a bit salty. Everything else was excellent and our server Lian was so friendly and attentive.

I was very happy with my 1st Keg dinner experience. Im glad we had made reservations far in advance as it was packed. Parking was a challenge, very full lots, had to wait around. Food and drink wise, everything that we had ordered was better than expected. Service was prompt, even considering capacity. Our server Leanne was phenomenal. Its been a long time since weve experienced such great service, she really made sure we were satisfied and taken care of. I would definitely return. Bathrooms could use a reno though, that is my only criticism.

Celebrated my husbands birthday here - and everything was great! Steaks were delicious, and the service was great! Will definitely be back!

Madison was our server and did a good job. Starts with the wrong beer, not sure why she asked if I was sure it was the wrong beer. Replaced that and alls well until the meal is served. Meat is cooked beautifully but was warmish. potato. My wife extracted two tablespoons of cold butter from her baked potato and i fished one out of mine. Of course that meant the potato was cold. That seems a bit shoddy for a restaurant that fancies itself upscale with a $50.00 Prime Rib. Our experiences at this Keg have been less than stellar. We have been to a dozen or so Kegs and this one just cant seem to get it together. A shame as it is just up the street.

The food, drinks, and service were all too notch. The only constructive feedback I have is that the club music being played in the background seemed a bit of a misfit for a steak house. The onion soup, wedge salad, peppercorn NY strip, filet minion, and Billy Miner pie were all standouts. The staff s attentiveness and care when it comes to allergies is second to none.

The Billy Miner pie dessert was amazingly Devine!!! Vegetarian options: Ordered thr Vegeteriab Chipotle Meatloaf. Didnt really enjoy it. Wheelchair accessibility: Not enough.

Sat at bar food and service was great

We have been so disappointed in the Aurora Keg recently so we decided to try the one in Newmarket. What a difference! The food was precisely as we ordered it (including a few modifications) and it was hot, visually appealing and delicious. Our server was attentive and quickly rectified a misunderstanding (my fault) on a drink order. Thanks for taking care of me on my birthday! This is the standard we expect from The Keg.

Its always a great Rib Steak and a nice time at The Keg Newmarket. Better than most of the other Kegs in the Greater Toronto area. Service is great and food was delicious. Thank you for a great time and a wonderful meal!

Service was amazing. Atmosphere ok. But the food was so bland. No flavour at all on the steaks and vegetables. This place is so overrated and overpriced for the garbage they continue to serve.

We had an issue with the cook on a steak and the waitress got the manager right away to fix it. Very good customer service.

My fiancé and I went to the keg a few weeks ago for my birthday. When we first arrived, the hostess had a very bad attitude with us. She seated us somewhere where we didn t want to be seated. We asked to sit somewhere else. She grabbed the menu with an attitude and put her hands on her hips and said where Would you like to be seated, mind you it wasn t busy at all. When we asked To be seated in the corner she looked at us and said it s for 4 ppl with an attitude. I then replied it s not busy if it s possible please can we sit there. She rolled her eyes through the menus on the table and said enjoy with sarcasm. I than let our waiter know what had happened and her was very apologetic and he let the manager know what had happened. The manager then came and spoke to us and just said we re sorry we will have a talk with her. This is not how a manager or hostess should drag pahing isomers. Tje Customer Service here needs to be worked on. We spent over $200 and we did not enjoy anything that night, the waitress ruined our whole night, and it was a waste of our money. I will never be going back there again. I don t recommend this location again all! They need to work on their customer Service skills. I hope somebody will reach out to me and hopefully fix this bad experience we had.

Delicious food Exceptional service Buzzin Sat night vibe From the moment we walked in (around 8pm on a Sat night) the place was BUZZZZZING with life. I don t rem the last time I saw The Keg this busy, but it was great! My friend and I sat at the bar until our table was ready and ordered 2 cocktails and the calamari appetizer. The drinks were made very well and the calamari was perfectly dusted in the right amount of batter We were a bit late being seated to our table despite having a reservation, but when we got seated our server immediately brought us waters and wine glasses and opened our bottle of vino that we had brought with us The Keg s famous bread was also served to us and our meals came out within 20m of ordering, which was wonderful given how packed the place was. Our server also came around several times to check-in on us and top up our wine glasses, which is always appreciated What we ordered : French onion soup x2 Filet mignon w. vegetables Prime rib w. vegetables Not pictured below (b/c we ate and drank it too fast ): Manhattan Negroni Calamari Everything was absolutely spectacular and I can t wait to come back! - - - - - A big shoutout as well to our server, Rhys, who was absolutely outstanding Thank you Rhys for making our evening perfect. Went on a Thursday night the service was great the food always amazing and the wait was almost to nothing. Parking: There is so much parking space available all the time. Kid-friendliness: The staff is great with kids

Our 10 ounce prime rib meal was a big, big disappointment. Lots of fat and not very appetizing. The baked potatoe was the only thing worth eating . Not sure why? The keg in Newmarket is not comparable to the Keg in Oshawa. Our server was top notch and she did our best to accommodate our table. Some food items were not available and all the staff should be prepared before hand to explaine this to the customers. Big disappointment for an upscale restaurant.

Our hostess Lisa was the absolute best. I cannot say enough good things about her. The food was good. We all had a good time. I would go again.
