I love eating at this place its such a hidden gem! The hand rolls and appetizers are great and the employees are just the nicest people ever

First time I have ordered from here and the food was Fantastic!!!!! Nice and fresh, great portion and awesome tuna. I highly recommend Tuna Poke and Tuna Tartare. I will definitely order from here again. Thanks for the great food team Sushi Shop.

Stopped in for a quick and delicious dinner after using the go train to commute to Royal Winter Fair. We ordered the Lotus Combo (Vegetarian) the use of crispy sweet potato topping was such an innovative and yummy touch. Also ordered the salmon tartare. Probably the best tartare I ve ever had. Lots of great flavours, very well balanced. An absolute delight. Already planning my next visit! Thanks to the owner and staff. They were attentive and friendly, which made the meal all the more memorable. Vegetarian options: Order the Lotus, you won t be disappointed!

The presentation is great! Presentation deserves 5 stars, however the food taste is quite poor. It s a pity that with such great appearance, the food tastes so bad. I ve tried so many different items on the menu and not one did I love. Some were better than others but still lacking in taste. I feel like a general statement would be that the food is too dry.

My favourite sushi place to go to. All staff are super friendly and amazing and the food is always super fresh.

Went to this restaurant today for the first time and had a fantastic experience. My friends and I ordered various nigiri and Maki rolls. The order came quickly and ingredients were fresh (salmon, maguro & shrimp tempura) with excellent presentation. Its a great restaurant for meet ups, with comfortable seating and various drink options. Ill defintely be returning!!

This is my go-to sushi place in Newmarket. The sushi here is always so fresh and delicious, and the owner is absolutely lovely. He is super helpful with the menu, so kind to everyone and always goes out of his way to make sure his customers are satisfied.

Creative menu but I think they need to get back to basics and also add some Udon and/or Ramen dishes. Too much tempura filler is used in some of the sushi and maki roles I found disappointing. Took just over 35 minutes to receive my small order, and similar to a previous order. Seating area is tight and limited too. I wont be coming back, nor would I recommend to anyone - particularly with the high price point, value is not there.

My husband and I visited this wonderful place for the second time to enjoy some of the best sushi in Newmarket. We ordered the Orange Velvet, Sweet passion and the Volcano from their Blossom collection.The Tokyo, Tween Salmon, Sun Kiss maki and some other wonderful things. I dont eat out very often because I have a hard time finding food I really like but this place offers delicious beautiful looking food. Thank you to the kind gentleman who took our order and congratulations to the chefs

Went to the sushi shop on green lane in Newmarket with my daughter, the food was amazing. The server/owner John said it may be a bit of a wait because they were busy, he sent complimentary soup and chicken that was out of this world, we had the salmon poke bowl which I know I will be craving, we also had a lion roll and their tuna tartar, all excellent. John was so friendly and helpful, we will definitely be going back.

Incredibly small portions. Seaweed wrap doesn t seem fresh. I m disappointed because this is the closest sushi shop to me. I d prefer Longos over this order that I paid at least 50% more for.

Food is good but wayyy overpriced. $30 for 12 maki pieces and 4 sushi pieces. You can get the same amount from other equally good sushi places for half or a third of the price. Sorry I just cant justify coming here again.

I ve come here a few times now for takeout sushi, and each time I have been thoroughly satisfied by the quality of the food here. The sushi is amazing, with good quality ingredients used, the rice is perfectly done, and it was all prepared quickly. The staff all give polite and prompt service, and the restaurant interior has appropriate vibes and decent seating. I d venture to say it s one of, if not THE, best sushi place in the area.

Waiting for bubble tea drinks took so long. Gave the order to the guy, then repeated everything to the cashier, then she went on to make it following a recipe booklet very slowly....just showed badly on training process. We asked for no ice, so if was room temperature Hopefully theyll improve on that. Service day was Dec 29, around 1pm

Stopped in to this Sushi Shop while on a business trip. I ordered the Dragon Eye, Volcano bowl and Salmon Tartare. OMG, was everything absolutely delicious and fresh. I thought the portions were perfect and reasonably priced. What made this experience even better was the super friendly staff. They made me feel right at home. If there was a way I can give more than five stars I definitely would. If I am ever back in Gwillimbury for business I will 100% be coming back. Thank you Sushi Shop!!!!!

I am a big fan of the Sushi Shop franchise so was very excited to see it come to EG. I went in today for lunch and ordered a Dragon Roll, the roll itself was very small, every piece I picked up fell apart and I believe the tempura shrimp was undercooked as it was a bit mushy on the inside. I returned what I didnt eat to the counter advised on the situation and the chef who prepared the sushi was laughing. Sadly I will not be returning to this location. I understand now why it was prime lunch time and there were no patrons.

I was excited to try this new sushi place. The service was great but the food was lacking. The rolls had little to no flavour and were very bland. I ended up not finishing my food and was very dissatisfied. *** Update- I was given a gift card to try them again and it was just as bland. To top it off I ordered salmon sashimi and they called trying to give me tuna, saying they ran out of salmon. When I said no it turns out they had but didnt want to cut a fresh piece.

Ordered the deluxe platter, it was nice. Dragon eyes and blossom sushi are very impressive and outstanding, also the staff here is pretty nice and friendly. It has been my favorite sushi store in Newmarket and EG area now.

the poke bowls have poked a hole in my heart, that can only be filled by more sushi shop. if you haven t been here, you need to take a long look in the mirror and ask yourself what you re doing with your life. then get sushi from sushi shop.

We had dinner from here tonight and everything was excellent. We got the veggie bowl, the deluxe veggie Sumomaki and chicken karaage appetizer. We ve had sushi all over Newmarket and this is now our favourite place. Phoned in my order for take out and the food was ready exactly when they said it would be. The staff were very friendly. We will definitely be back! Vegetarian options: They have a great selection of vegetarian options.

Had a great-time catching-up with a close friend yesterday. We had edamame, miso soup (full-bodied with umani, mmmm delish), Tokyo and Dragon maki, Diablo and Viper maki recommended by friendly owner John was so amazing. I loved how fresh the ingredients tasted in everything we ordered. The soothing background music really made a great experience for us. They serve bubble tea too! I shall definitely be back for more.

This is by far the best sushi place I ve ever been too, and I ve been to a lot.. the food is so fresh and delicious ! The service is great! Very friendly and helpful with decisions and great combos available ! Very clean environment! They have the best miso soup available and the best shrimp tempura ever !

On the way to costco we decided to stop by and try this new opened sushi place. We ordered take out. I asked one of the crew if wasabi is in the box and they said yes. When we came home ,Rolls turned out to be very small and lack flavour and just a tiny bit of wasabi. Soya sauce was not strong enough. I guess they mix it with water to save on cost ? I dont know whats going on here and we not coming back.

Lunch at Sushi Shop was absolutely fantastic. The owner served us personally and he ensured that we were given everything that we needed to enjoy our lunch. He even came by to ask us how the food was and if there was anything else he could do for us. We had a salmon sushi bowl and it was made with care and very delicious. Absolutely brilliant place to grab a quick bite if sushi, highly recommend.

I like it. I like it a lot. Excellent sushi and service, and I definitely plan on coming back. I picked up a Black Mamba package, and my friend got two Samoan Lonverz and we shared...everything was excellent I enjoyed the Sushi Shop, and next time I go, I will definitely explore the menu. The ocean is deep, and on land we find some of these treasures and pleasures conveniently at The Sushi Shop. Is there fish on Sushi pizza? Its a Sushi shop. The Sushi Shop. I am a true sushi lover and tried sushi here and just loved the taste, quality, presentation, and temperature of the sushi. Very Authentic Japanese style sushi and atmosphere. New market area needs a sushi place like this. Will come back again for sure !l Green tea and Tokyo sushi are the must.

Mixed feelings. Sushi rolls were good, there is lots of choice. Ordered sashimi, tuna and salmon. For $7 what we got was 2 very thin slices of fish. Wow, very poor value. Also ordered miso soup but they brought it last???? When have you been in a Japanese restaurant and they serve the soup at the end of the meal. Much better value around Newmarket for sushi. Cost 53$ for very little food for 2 people.

Went in to order a bubble tea. The person was helping someone else. I said I was there for bubble tea. He asked if I could hold on, no problem. He took quite some time to ask for my order. There was a gift card issue, no problem. Then I tried to order a milk tea with pearls and told they didn t have tapioca. It would be a 15 min wait. Perhaps 5 minutes before when I came in a warning could have been nice, I wouldn t have waited in line. If you advertise selling bubble tea, I d suggest having the ingredients readily available. I was intrigued by the look of the sushi while waiting. I will give them another chance before.

The sushi here is always so fresh and tasty, and the service is wonderful. The staff (maybe it was the owner?) gave recommendations and brought our food right to our little table. We accidentally stayed a few minutes past close and they didnt say a peep or pressure us to leave. I have eaten in and gotten take out from here several times now, and its always the best decision I make that day! The sushi pizza slider trio and the Lion sumomaki are my faves :)

I ve only eaten takeout so far, but all of the food I tried were excellent. The poke bowl was delicious and has the right amount of spice! I recommend the combos so you can try different things. You can feel the creativity and care put into the food.

It was delicious! I found that the spicy salmon & tuna were very good. My only issue would be that tempura is incorporated into a lot of the rolls - however, that s just a personal preference. If you re into that, you ll love it!

Come with my two friends and its always a great meal! The miso soup is hands-down, the best miso soup Ive ever had. Sushi is top quality, with a nice selection to choose from. Staff are always friendly. Vegetarian options: Selection of veggie rolls is great, with more than just the standard cucumber and avocado options. Dietary restrictions: My friends have no restrictions, but I do, having a mild-moderate intolerance to most finned fish, so I stick with real crab, lobster, and chicken options of which there are a few rolls in each option which is amazing.

The Sushi Shop serves the best sushi in Newmarket! All of their food is made fresh. I strongly recommend trying the sparkling bubble tea and sunrise sushi pizza. The staff are kind and incredibly hospitable!

The food was very good. The selection is fantastic. But the service is slow. For a Tuesday night and an order of just two poke bowls a 75 minute wait is too long. But they are new so I will definitely give them another chance. But if they dont get more efficient I dont expect they will get a lot of repeat customers.

All rice and and no fish . Huge fan of the sushi shop franchise and was so excited to see a location open in east Gwillimbury. To my disappointment there was no fish . Unfortunately will not be going back again.

Amazing food and super fresh too! Their crunchy rolls, sushi tacos, and shrimp tempura were able to stay crunchy even after half an hour of transportation which is I find amazing and super hard to find. Their sparkling bubble tea is absolutely delish. Theyre not too sweet, kind of reminiscent of more flavourful sparkling water. Customer service is 10/10. I am almost certain youll never find a better place with customer service as impeccable as theirs.

While the prices seem reasonable, the quantity is small. Received order for take out and was very disappointed. Veg. Tempura was not cooked and didn t come with any dipping.the chicken appetizer was similar experience, crispy on the outside, undercooked and mushy in the middle.

This sushi was ok. They used smoked salmon in one of the rolls which is always a turn off for me. It was pricey and the cuts of fish were very small. Nice atmosphere inside but I will not be returning.
