2994 Danforth Ave, East York, ON M4C 1M7, Canada
Bangladeshi restaurant, family owned since 2004, run by women, providing Bengali cuisine for the community. A community hub in the heart of Bangla Town.
Life saving option for bengalis to eat out home like food with reasonable price. It's almost always crowded and noisy. Otherwise mostly good experience with some friendly servers.
The place is very nice Bangladeshi restaurant. Food was awesome - authentic Bangladeshi taste. Service was good. Environment was so soothing with nice Bangla songs.
Its a like a little Bangladesh in Danforth. I have tried porota and Aluvaji after long time. They have lots of Bangladeshi food. It seems they also take order. If you come here u must try their Milk tea.
After so long got my favourite Fuchka🤩 one and only love . Last bar moja celona but Aj 😀valo celo.
Firstly I was just amazed to taste the Bangladeshi style snacks. The Haleem was very watery but tasted good enough. Definitely recommending the beef roll.
Good Bangladeshi restaurant nearby. I tried some snacks this week, and overall the taste was good. A small seating area and lil a bit dirty inside. Peaju: 5/5 Chola muri: 4.5/5 Sweet dahi: 4/5 Milk chitoy: 5/5 Bundia: 2.5/5 Milk tea: 4/5 Customer service: 5/5
Great Bengali food and inexpensive. We had veg samosa, chicken cutlet, gulab jamun, and in lunch fish combo. Fish combo has a rice plate, dal, 1 veg sabzi and 1 fish curry (1 big piece). Veg samosa is awesome, as same taste as in India, the big one costs $1 and small one is $.75. Chicken cutlet is also good and is of $2. Fish combo is more in quantity and would be sufficient for 1.5-2 persons. Taste is very good. Gulab jamun is very good in taste. They accept card, but cash is preferred, so check with the staff once.
One of the best Bengali restaurants in Danforth area. You will find authentic Bangladeshi snacks and lunch items, with better taste. Although their dine-in space is small, they've recently renovated the interior so the space feels bigger. They have a time limit thing if you dine-in, but that's understandable.
We had a fuchka and a pudding. The pudding was delicious but the fuchka made me sick. I am 7 months pregnant and I got food poisoning after eating fuchka. I would like to request their development in food hygiene. Vegetarian options: Yes Dietary restrictions: May get food poisoning. Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: No
Awesome
Snacks are too good
The best muri makhani. The way I told her she made exactly in the same way. Love it. Price for so reasonable, no complaint. I will visit them again and again. All the best wishes for them.
Service overall needs improvement. Sometimes Items ordered for take away are missing. Food packaging poor because they forcefully pack fishes breaking them. Ambience poor.
Good place for Bangladeshi food..
Very gerbege Disgusting
Very small portions for the price. Etremely unhealthy food. Doused with extreme oil, and bad quality oil. I have been visiting for a long time. This is my last visit. There is no monetary value for portions served.
Extremely small. while i was trying leave with 3 cups of tea, i saw the Inside door knob is missing, so i struggled to open the door and finally jammed it with my leg, meantime a very rude customer pulled the door fully open from behind and instead of letting me exit first, she rushed out and let the door spring back on my hand spilling the hot tea on my hands. blame the incident fifty fifty on the owner for faulty door and the customer for her rude manner.
Amazing hidden gem for Bangladeshi food!
GOATed Bangali food. The Aloo Chop always hits
Top notch service with aesthetic interior and the delicious food is an obvious plus. A little bit pricey but the atmosphere evidently overshadows it.
The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and will keep coming back thank you
Bangladeshi takeout. Excellent goat curry and biryani.
It is famous for appetizers & snacks.
More food & snacks items. Mango lasche is very good.
Good tasting savouries and sweets. Freshly made and always busy. Real taste of Bangla food . Vegetarian options: Most Bangla sweet are veggie friendly and veg savouries
Bangladesh
Best food ever
Its my favorite place to dine Reasonable price excellent food and above all wonderful staff and service. Food
The food was amazing! I spent $10 on a chocken Bryiani and it was one if the best I have ever had!!
The food is amazing as always. Mr. Asif was a great server, great communication and top notch service
Popular place for Bangladeshi food like singara, chhola-muri, different types of pitha, traditional Bengali curries, sweets. Place is relatively small and crowded specially in weekends. Tea is also a popular item here, in the center of the Bangladeshi community.
Kid-friendliness: Food should be less spicy and salt for kids. Food
all good to get any Bangladeshi Food vegetables and spices maslas fresh groceries always! Vegetarian options: get anything vegetables chillies broccolis etc and Bangladeshi river fishes can be found here to buy.. Kid-friendliness: its tight place but not harmful for kids to roam inside.. parents must track them .
Really enjoyed all the dishes especially the mutton platter. Special thanks to Asif for making it memorable experience. Food : 5/5

Dirty
I would go back every day if I lived around Danforth. Their tea is great and also have hot meals. We only had snack items and tea. The tea was perfect and the jalebi tasted great.
Really nice small restaurant. Fresh appetizers and snacks made every evening. Have it with their freshly made cup of tea and youll have yourself a nice evening. They do have variety of Bangladeshi food to choose from like bharta and plain rice with different curries. Being in the heart of Danforth, it does get quite busy with 15+min wait time. Seating is impossible to find during rush hour.
Had Muri makhano with peaju . Taste and quantity are 5 stars. Sure, will come again.
Dietary restrictions: Food is halal Food
good food. after renovation looks nice..
Food is good but and customer service is 0
bad atmosphere and those women behaves very badly..
The place has been renovated. New decorations tables and chairs. New menus. Tiny place but food is still great.
Very affordable, tasty, Bangla food. Snacks, sweets and meals are available all less than 5$ typically. They also have good tea.
A bangladeshi cult. Hats off to you for bringing bengali cuisine in north america.
They accept cards now. But the service quality is declining. The tea today was one of the worst.prices are up and quality is way down. They are continuously jacking up the price. The washroom access is one of the worst. Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible and parking spots are very limited. On the weekends the employees keep the parking for themselves, kind of unfortunate.
This is the place to grab some good Bangladeshi snacks. It s a small place so don t expect a dine in service, this is mainly a takeout place. The tehari, kabab and the milk tea are some of the best items.
Last Tuesday, I brought home three iftar boxes, I thought it has been twenty years, surely the quality of food has improved, only bland, no taste, no salt. I was really disappointed with so much delicious food. Food is not fun if you only add jhal.
Food quality was not up to the mark.No desi taste in any food.Expecting deshi food taste
We went there for lunch on Bengali Noboborsho. This place is perfect if you want to celebrate a special day with family. Food was great and their service is amazing too. Highly recommended!
Cool place to eat in Ghoroaa New restaurant in lovely decoration with nice street view. We enjoyed in Ghoroaa restaurant.
Tried Bangladeshi test tea, nice1
Delicious food. Good portion. Vegetarian options: Lot of vegetarian options available. Recommended dishes Muri Bhorta
very nice test
Foods are really authentic Bangladeshi style and excellent customer service. Highly recommended.
Perfect place for snacks and meals for dine in and take out.
Im never going back here again. The food didnt taste good. They microwaved my food in front of me. The chotpoti was super watery and had stale onion. The rest of the fried snacks were stale. There was a maximum 20 meaning seating too.
Renovation looks amezing and unique. Their snacks are the best beangli snacks in toronto specially their puri, singara, chicken roll piyaju . Food portion is pretty good. We tried goat kacchi and Elish polao both items are delicious and price is very reasonable.
Well the food was decent an need good the prices are good enough and nice. They have too many options from food , drinks, desserts went snacks Food : 5/5
One of my go to places for bangali food. Really enjoy their mains along with snacks. Haleem s my favourite. Really flavourful and great portions for the price.
I have been at their new location on Monday February 5th. I have ordered their Beef Tehari. It had a very disgusting taste. There was a lack of meat portion and I questioned the waiter about it and I got no proper answer. It also tasted like it was a day old. The price is also higher than other Bengali restaurants. (One person with one plate costs $24 with tax with no drinks) Not acceptable this sfood quality according this price . Thanks
Certain food items are good.
Good place for Bangladeshi snacks and food items. Lunch or dinner might cost you 15-20$. Breakfast 10-15$
I recently dined at this establishment, and I must commend them on their exceptional offerings. The service was exemplary, creating an atmosphere that felt warmly reminiscent of home. A truly delightful experience that I highly recommend to connoisseurs of fine dining.
Food quality is not too bad, but environment is not great.
The place is smelly.
Yesterday I had my lunch at Ghoroaa, food was really good in terms of taste, quantity, quality and the price was reasonable. I shall drop in again with my family to enjoy the food.
Worst customer service. The women who works there doesnt have basic empathy and civilization. I would recommend the owner to educate them.
Best Bangladeshi local food in Toronto. Very tight seating space but friendly staff and affordable food. Even after pandemic their service and food quality remain same as before. Vegetarian options: Street food options
Banglai Hotel, All food for Bangali,
Best tea in the town!!!
I always get vapa pitha and piaju from here when I visit from NY. Excellent quality of food.
I love the new renovations! Their haleem is absolutely amazing, just like the ones u get in Bangladesh and its only $6 for a good portion of meat and daal! Their fuchka is very good, very similar to the ones in Dhaka. Their snacks are also very yummy and extremely affordable. Our family favourites are the piyaju and pakora.
Tried their beef tehari.. Meat was not tender and rice was flavorless..For me (beef tehari) - premium sweets > ghoroaa > Adda.
Took their famous tehari. Fully unclean place. Tehari has bad cockroach smell. After eating whole family having food poisoning. :/
Much improved interior. Way better than before.
Its ok
The taste of the food is really good, no doubt about it. But the sitting arrangement & the atmosphere is little clumsy & unpleasant. Nowadays only the quality of food is not good enough for any restaurants in such a city like Toronto.
They are the best option for Bengali food in the city
Even after three years of going to this authentic Bangla it never went below certain standards. Their food is usually very flavorful, fresh and reasonably priced.
Very good
Authentic Bangladeshi restaurant!
Small place good for takeout...bengali snacks extremely oily!
Not clean enough
We did breakfast at Ghoroa. We went around 11am and it was quite empty so luckily we got a table. We ordered poratha, roti, dim bhaji, buter halua, chicken kolija, along with singara, cha and mango lassi. All items were tastes good nothing extraordinary. Roti was the best one to try. We took doi & khir as dessert. Doi tastes better than khir.
Bangladesh food Okay type Not happy atmosphere Food : 1/5
A cozy deshi place for authentic bengali food, but they do not maintain quality. Also, service need improvement.
The chicken biriyani is okay. The chicken polao came without any chicken pieces in it. The beef was still raw. The chicken kebab was good. And the tea was great aswell. Singara was okay. Hit or miss almost. Great tea :) . Awesome. Stay away from kalija samosa - filled with potatoes, barely anything else in there. Not worth it.
Assalamu Alaikum. Please dont try Ghoroyas vuri/bot and Haleem( tried earlier). I have tried today ($10) vuri but it wasnt proper cooked at all. When you bite, sounds and feel like you are eating fresh vegetables. Bottom line is, Vuri wasnt well cooked. Who cooked vuri recently at Ghoroya, that person need to learn first then cook and serve others. Ghoroya: vuri/ bot portion is ok but not well cooked at all. Dhaka kabab: bot / vuri well cooked with lots of onions. (1/4 vuri/ bot rest is onion) First and last time for vuri/ bot and Haleem from Ghoroya.
Small, popular, place for traditional Bengali food and snacks. Great for a quick meal. Not much of an ambiance. Only a few basic tables and chairs and all crammed in to a tiny restaurant Parking: Park in the big shopping mall plaza across the street. Lots of space
Exquisite food just like home! I ve been there multiple times, dined in and had take-outs as well. This place doesn t compromise with food quality and flavour. Dined in today for snacks/brunch again. Had beef kabab, patishapta, bundia, shingara. Grabbed some somucha and mishti on our way home as well. The kabab literally reminded me of my childhood back home. I wish Ghoroa had home delivery available! Definitely going back again and again as long as I m in Toronto.
If you enjoy the feeling of homely ambiance with a knack for street food then this place is your corner to dine in.
It s a popular Bangladeshi restaurant in Toronto
Ghoroa as the name implies has the best homely cooked Bangla food in Toronto. The rice combo is always outstanding with aloo bhorta and dal. The curries(chicken, beef or fish) go very well with the combo. Snacks are also very tasty.I am yet to try the biriyani. The ladies who work there are very caring and attentive to the coustomers and obligies them with every small requests. Their food is the closest one can get to eating food at home where everything is cooked with care and dedication. Lastly the prices arr very reasonable. The only problem there is the small sitting area not enough to meet the demands of the coustomers who want to sit and eat. I will still go there over and over again everytime I am in Danforth just for the quality of the cooking. Would highly recommend eating there next time you are in that neighbourhood.
Good food good service and reasonable price
Worst atmosphere
Authentic bangla chef and experience in a very informal neighborhood tuck shop. They have redone all the interiors. The jhal muri, churmur and chai are must haves. Bangladeshi favorites- the beef kacchi biryani and haleem are staples. Staff are very friendly, though it might seem crowded at all times due to it being popular among the Bengali folk in the neighborhood. Self-service from the counter. No exclusive parking for the restaurant although most patrons park in the lot across the street. Parking: Park in the lot across the street
Very popular restaurant.
I liked the food specially the peyaju. All other foods are yummy and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend and come back.
Ghoroa is an emotion to me. I feel like, I am at home when I am eating there. Dietary restrictions: Nut free. Food : 5/5 |
The items I ordered were not available but would be in 5 minutes. I made for my order (as it is required at this place). I learned my order would not be fulfilled and I should take whatever was available.
Found a piece of hair in my tehari
Awesome place! Great food, my go to restaurant almost everyday at least for tea. And you can t beat their price
Very good and reliable restaurant for Bangladeshi authentic foods and snacks.
Food was good, but I feel like it could have been better, I feel like the rice was plain, their was no flavor, the egg was ok, but once again I feel like they should add some flavor on it. The chicken curry was good, spice level was fine. Seasoning was good, but couldve been better, I am from Bangladesh so I can tell if its good or not, overall good food I would recommend it, but like I said they should add more flavor. Service was great they were nice, and gave food on time. Great place to eat.
i think staff should Learn behaviour
Sweet curd/ yogurt is very very sad . Feels like too much cornflour or flour mixed almost zero milk
The food was good, but the lady at the cashier was rude. She can say things nicely, but I guess she wont.
