Best tasting Asian food I've had in a while, just as good as Mandarin!
DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT!!!! Terrible food, has no flavour and awful ingredients. The “General Tao’s chicken” had literally no meat. Just deep fried breading in tasteless sauce. When I say “literally no meat”, that’s not exaggeration. This “meat” dish would meet vegan requirements. Every single piece in the container. Pics attached.
Ordered this beautiful Chinese dinner tonight through Uber Eats as a treat! It was a feast of Cantonese chowmein, sweet and sour chicken balls, jumbo breaded shrimp, plain rice, szechwan beef and chips with curry sauce. So much fresh meat and veg in the dishes, food was flavourful and loved the sauce. Chicken balls and shrimp are huge, but inside was a nice amount of meat to batter and it was so crunchy....we just loved that part! Came with sweet and sour sauce as well. The curry sauce was really good but the chips not so delicious just ok. The great part was the amount of food received and price, it cost us $52 on the uber eats app! We have alot of left overs to enjoy another day! Definitely will order here again, and try other dishes! Ringing the happy bell tonight!
We ordered General Tso's Chicken (sweet) but 3/4 of the order is crispy corn flour. And the bbq ribs is too dry. The soft noodles was okay. But the beef Broccoli is good enough in taste. Just disappointed with the chicken and bbq ribs.
I bought combo D and it was horrible. I’m kinda mad I chose this restaurant as a dinner option tonight. The shrimp was mostly dough, chicken balls were decent rice had this weird smell and the eggs or the chicken bits added to the rice made the whole plate smell fresh now if you know the smell of something smelling fresh then you know it’s a turn off from the whole meal. I tried soy sauce hot sauce and still garbage. Don’t waste your time buying food from here not worth the money at all!
Really low quality. General tao chicken had no chicken. Just deep fried beading. The beef in the beef and broccoli had a rancid taste. Definitely not fresh.
After finding a worm/ maggot in the brocolli from the beef and broccoli dish I ordered on June 25-2020, I called Golden Wok to tell them I just ordered and this is what I found and the lady told me THAT IT IS COMMON and refused a refund or any help at all. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN not because I found a worm on my food but because of the disrespect and complete lack of customer service. Im sorry, i do not order food from a restaurant with the understanding that it might come with a side of worms.
Husband and I order from here occasionally. Usually very good. Sweet and sour pork was crispy and had a normal meat to batter ratio. Fried rice is good! Husband likes their beef with vegetables. Picture is of Combo A: Chicken fried rice, spring roll, chop suey, sweet and sour pork. Lady that works there is super friendly.
Its a pharmacy not a restaurant
Amazing for takeout.
No chicken in general tao only batter chow mein was still raw
Tkrkf
General tao, swwt n sour pork more batter than meat. Looks more like a chicken ball
The quality of the General Tao chicken is awful. There is no chicken in the dish, just breaded dough balls in sauce. Really disappointing.
General Tao had absolutely NO CHICKEN in it. Just fried batter and WAY too much sweet sauce. Noodles and fried rice had no flavour. Was a loyal costumer up until this recent experience, will advise against moving forward.
This place always looks dark and dingy. They to add some bright lights and a coat of soft colour paint to spruce the place up.
The worse Chili chicken I have ever had. 95% batter 5% chicken Someone please try and tell me If it was same thing for them.
/5 - This restaurant is amazing! - The staff are very kind - Incredibly affordable food for the amount they give you, and they are absolutely delicious. - Highly recommend their lemon chicken and tofu with veggies - pay in cash! Im offered a small box of fried chicken for FREE everytime I do so ------ For over 15 years I would get my Chinese takeout from the Broadview-Gerrard area (since thats Chinatown, plenty of Chinese food there). However, their flavors and quality have grown really bland since and their foods are no longer as satisfying. Then I was recently introduced to Golden Wok and I wanted to try out some of the food I would often get from Chinatown (lemon chicken, tofu with veggies, egg fried rice, etc.) And I am proud to say that this is now my new go-to restaurant for Chinese takeout. The food was really mouth watering and savoury and tastes just as great as the ones I used to eat, and theyre much more affordable than the ones in Chinatown. I highly recommend ordering their lemon chicken. And also PAY IN CASH, Im offered a FREE box of fried chicken everytime I do so. It just sucks theyre location is not the most optimal, as I would love to have them right on the main roads like Victoria Park or St Clair E, rather than a side street, but I guess thats where the hidden gems really are. Nevertheless, my review of them is still really great and 100% recommend to anyone for their next Chinese takeout.
Awful, gross, and just a waste. Ordered chicken, beef, noodles and rice. It all tasted the same. Deep fried. I couldnt even tell if there was actually meat or not. Food : 1/5
Unfortunately I would not recommend eating here! I got the General Tao chicken and I m pretty sure it was just breaded dough! Found zero chicken !!
The food really smells bad and cold i garbage every thing
Delicious food and kind workers :)
Tried fried rice and stir fried eggplant. Good foods with resonable price.
The breading on the sweet and sour pork was thick, the pork once you get pass the breading taste like minced meat. I could never eat that again.
great food
I have never been so pleased with a meal in my life. I just moved to the area and I will be coming here a lot for sure. I got the sweet and sour chicken balls, chicken fried rice, lemon chicken, beef and broccoli, and the general chicken. Everything was not only delicious but perfectly made and HUGE. I am going to be enjoying this for the next few days and it will likely be a struggle not to immediately order more when I run out. 10/10.
Great food, low price, hot and ready quickly. They are very close to me and I have to stop myself from order from them all the time!
They have good food but they are super cheap one sauce per item its ridiculous. Its honestly ridiculous it cost them nothing but theyre so stingy.
The beef is white . Sweet & sour chicken has no chicken, just breading. Beef & broccoli isn t cooked in sauce. Just straight oil UPDATE I have food poisoning. 13 hours later I can t leave from the bathroom for more than 5 minutes
Tasty food. My delivery came insanely fast
Best General Tsao chicken in town ... very affordable... I used to live pretty close but I keep coming back after I moved.... very much recommended
The chicken is horrible to oily, too much breading
THIS GO HARD AF
The hair was mixed with chicken and the food is extremely oilly. Will never order from here. Made a big mistake of giving this place a try.
Nice. Good food. Easy on the grease
Love their Cantonese chow main & sweet and sour chicken! Hot, fresh & yummy food!
Got the chicken fried rice. Chicken was dry and hard and some of the rice seemed to be recooked or something because it was crusty. Most of the rice was okay overall.
Food was ok.... I wasnt impressed sorry
Excellent taste, efficient & nice customer service. I will go there again.
tao chicken had no chicken. noodles were tasteless size of cut vegetables were as if for a buffalo.
Unfortunately my review will be changing from a 5 star to 1 star. Today I ordered General Tao Chicken and Chicken fried rice among a few other items. The General Tao was a huge portion but it was all batter. I think we cut open 2-3 pieces that had Chicken out of the 25-30 pieces. Sorry I didn t pay $10 for ver overcooked hard batter. Also, the egg in the chicken fried rice was orange not sure why. And the rice was very hard and dry. I will not be ordering from here again. * FROM 2-3 years ago. The food here is so good. Its been awhile since I found a good Chinese restaurant that I enjoyed .
Affordable yet flavorful Cantonese food. A lot of portion and friendly people.
Good food, nice prices but they dont sell dumplings
This restaurant is dishonest after a price increase a couple weeks ago they have now remove a fried rice from their dinner for 6 which used to have two. Take in consideration the price increase and food reduction if I were to order an extra fried Rice it would cost me about 18 dollars more than it did a month ago. Very unprofessional business practices. This change was done without notice as I opted to reorder my last order and was not advised of the change. When speaking to the restaurant their attitude was that of not caring about the issue nor caring if I ever order again was even told to order elsewhere then if you dont like it. Very unprofessional and they only deliver with Uber Eats which is one of the most expensive delivery services out there to the consumer. If you want to be ripped off and treated like your business means nothing to them then order here by all means but if you like being treated well then this is NOT the place for you
pretty good cheap with good good taste
I recommend, they have really good food, decent prices and delivery was quick. Customer service was also great, I would order again. Thanks!
The General Tsao Chicken & Crispy Beef were both all batter and no meat. Dont think Ive ever experienced something like this before. Not sure how theyre in business. Save your $$$!
I got the spicy pepper shrimp with small steamed rice. The shrimp is breaded and lays in a bed of spices, onion and green pepper. The shrimp could of been a bit spicier and it was a bit overly breaded. I wish there was more green pepper in the veggie mix and a tad less onions. However, in the end the flavour was there and tasted good. It s a good place for a quick and short notice meal
I had The C5 platter, fantastic!
worst Chinese food take out.. no flavor and general tso has no meat in and chilli chicken the same thing.. all batter and no meat and so hard and crunchy that its not edible . so disappointed.. I will never go back
The portions are good but it s not the best quality. A lot of the items seem previously frozen. It s not bad but it could be better.
Good food.
No more egg rolls, such a staple item.
Excellent food with large portions. We had the general tso, pineapple fried rice and combo D. We were very impressed! I highly recommend this restaurant. Very very tasty!!
The General Tso chicken tasted like I was eating candy and was way too sweet. The hot and sour soup was good though.
I ve tried combo A and D both are great! It says serves one but my mom and I can happily share as the portion is good. Food is prepared fresh and was served hot, very fast pickup too. My new favourite place to support during this pandemic
Great for take out, never disappointed. Usually very quick. Great value and portion size.
I found a maggot on my food and called them in right after and I was told that It s common to find worms/maggots on their food since that s the way they get their stuff from their suppliers and they couldn t and wouldn t do anything about it. The lady on the phone was really rude and didn t show any respect or consideration about the whole situation/customer service.
Food was terrible, everything came dry and just didnt taste right. My family usually keeps leftovers, not here, right to the garbage. Wanted to like this place to because our place we usually get from are moved/moving. Portion size is good and the price is technically good for how much food you do recieve but Id personally rather spend a little more and get something worth eating. Plus the service from the woman there was awful and she was rude...definitely wont be back.
Ordered on Uber Eats and it was delicious! Definitely the best Chinese food we have had in a long time. Great portion sizes- especially the chicken balls, they were gigantic! The beef and broccoli was our favourite.
Mediocre at best. Lo mein was chow mein, sauce way too sweet, soup no good, spicy chicken not spicy. Never ordering from here again.
Fried food wasnt greasy. Husband says it is the beat pork fried rice he haa even had
In my opinion, costomer servisec is very bad the staff are rude and unprofessional
Best in the city. Their spring rolls are great, portions huge and most importantly their noodles are not loaded with grease. Highly recommend for great quality and value
Pretty disappointing wanted to support restaurants but the we actually threw some of the food away it was so bad. These reviews all look fake...
VERY clearly has fake reviews. Be wary. Would not recommend going here at all.
Food tasty and the price is reasonable. Once of our favourite to go restaurant for Chinese food
I thought the food was amazing and plentiful. I had a great experience
Worst chinese food ive ever had, EVER! Bland and nothing but onion, soo much onion in all the dishes and WAY too much batter on the chicken and pork. Horrible, but my fault I guess for ordering the cheapest around. Never again!
Excellent
Food is average and no delivery is available. Person at the counter said that we can order from Uber Eats if we want a deluvery
Good one
great food. staff is very friendly.
Food was good, they did a nice job with the General Tso Chicken. Sweet and Sour sauce was not my fav.
Good value for your money. The location serves the incubated neighbourhoods of the Northern half of Dawes Road ( Park Vista to Victoria Park) with cheaply priced Chinese food. The portions are great. I recommend the Black Pepper Beef, Lemon Chicken and Chili Chicken (served on a bed of fried rice). The only option I havent enjoyed are the Chicken wings. They are a tad too crispy (heavy batter) and sometimes overdone.
THEY HAD HORRIBLE SERVICE. THEY DID NOT GIVE MY FULL ORDER THEN STARTED YELLING AT ME TO PAY AGAIN. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!
The worst food ever!! The hot and sour soup was a bright red, glutinous mess. Egg roll coating was like cardboard and was filled with tasteless sprouts and nothing else. All food was cold on arrival. The chowmein and shrimp with veg were both cornstarchy, bland and contained way too many- you guessed it-sprouts!! Oh and the shrimp could have doubled as racquetballs.
Great service and food.
Tasty food, decent pricing, fast delivery. The food poisoning I got is the reason for the 1 star.
I come here for hangover food and it does the job. You cant beat their $5 lunch deal.
Great stuff here. One of the better places around for general toas chicken. Prices cant be beat, and they are so fast. they always say 15 minute wait cause theyre busy, but they almost always serve me after about 5 minutes.
Food arrived with one box half open and most of the sauce in the bag. General Tso s chicken was just sad. Noodles were fine, but I m still sad.
Tonight I spent 35.00 on supper first the drive could not speak English and did not have the money to make change. Then I go to eat my shrimp fried rice and the shrimp is raw stay away from this place I would love to post photos
Service was quick and friendly and the food was tasty.
The sweet and sour chicken as well as the orange chicken dish contains a lot of flour dough pieces covered in sauce, there s no actual chicken in 90% of these pieces if dough and that s deceptive. They use a lot of cornstarch sauce and vegetables to bulk up there meal to get away with putting less meats in the dishes. I won t be ordering here again. Cheap isn t always good.
Good food
Very good Chinese. Reasonable price.
Not bad.. when your hungry.. Food is needed and their food hit the spot.
Really greasy. Garden gate is better and half the price.
Ive been going there ever since they opened .. close to where I live.. I crave spicy, fried authentic take out; I go there.. as for some comments about their customer service .. so far with me its been amazing. .
Very nice staff and good food
Always fresh and tasty. My go-to place.
Always good
Great pricing and great food
batter batter batter. an inch thick batter on fried prawn. batter on chicken wings. i am they will batter your rice too
Food is ordinary but the extra fried chicken wings is good! Price is reasonable and staff is polite and efficient.
Was really looking forward to the lunch special...too bad they dont open at their posted time...pity
Prices are fair, and the portions are large. Only bad thing to say is sometimes they leave too much liquid with the vegetables, and it leaks out and gets the take out bag wet. Otherwise, simply divine. Give it a shot.
The General Tao chicken is divine. The only reason I dont go there more often is because their portions are too big (which I guess isnt really a bad thing). Also their prices for their lunch specials are amazing.
Good food...cheap! Shrimps with lobster sauce is the best!
