Upscale renditions of popular Chinese dishes served in a stylish, tranquil dining room.
We’d been curious about this restaurant for a while, so we finally decided to give it a try. It seems to cater more to locals, and overall, the experience was mediocre. Our favorite dishes were the lettuce wraps with chicken and the crispy beef—both well-priced and enjoyable. The garlic shrimp and fried rice were okay; the shrimp had a nice garlic flavor but was a bit under-seasoned, so I had to ask for some salt. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and welcoming.
The food here is delicious. Service excellent. Unfortunately they are infested with fruit flies. It makes the dining experience intolerable. One bite food, swat away flies and repeat. This is an easy problem to resolve. This is our third time here but won’t return as the flies are gross. Too bad.
Seemingly family-operated nice Chinese restaurant with great dishes. Mapo Tofu was spicy and sweet, but as delicious as the one I tried in China. I loved it! Even though my wife, who is from Sichuan, says it's not supposed to be sweet. My 4-year-old also loved their small soup-filled buns (Guantang Bao). I think, on the menu they are listed as Xiaolong Bao. Shanghai noodles with beef were so-so. As for parking, there is plenty of it right across the street near Canadian Tire.
My son and hubby love their spring rolls most especially. Although every other food we order tastes nice, they are consistent.
The food was really good!! We were four people and shared like 5 dishes plus some starters- was delicious and also very cheap and they were so nice. I would definitely recommend :)

Title: "A Culinary Journey to the Far East: Tao Northern Chinese Cuisine" When seeking a dining experience that waltzes across the tightrope of exotic flavors, lavish presentation, and warm hospitality, one need look no further than Tao Northern Chinese Cuisine. Tucked away at 220 Laird Drive, this hidden gem is a veritable treasure trove of dishes that transport your taste buds to the mystical Far East. Our culinary odyssey commenced with the Chicken Won Ton Noodle Soup, a soothing symphony of delicate flavors that nourished our souls. The Chicken Spring Rolls were next to grace our table; their golden, crispy exteriors revealing a delectable filling that married the playful textures of perfectly seasoned chicken with the earthy crunch of fresh vegetables. Tao's Chicken Fried Rice danced on our palates, a whirlwind of flavors that united smoky, caramelized notes with the tangy sweetness of pineapple. The Lemon Chicken was a true masterpiece, as if Da Vinci himself had crafted the dish. Tender, succulent pieces of chicken were lightly battered, then bathed in a vibrant lemon sauce that dazzled the senses with its perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. The Pepper Beef left us utterly speechless, with its tender morsels of beef that melted in our mouths, juxtaposed against the fiery heat of black pepper and the delicate sweetness of caramelized onions. The Assorted Seafood & Vegetables was a delightful marine medley, harmoniously combining the briny freshness of the ocean with the natural sweetness of colorful, crisp veggies. As for the Chicken Singapore Vermicelli, it was a tantalizing fusion of textures and flavors, each strand of vermicelli expertly coated in a fragrant curry sauce that bewitched the senses. Our adventure culminated in the sinfully delicious Deep Fried Bananas with Vanilla Ice Cream and strawberries. The bananas, enrobed in a feather-light batter and fried to crispy perfection, were the perfect accompaniment to the creamy, velvety ice cream, while the vibrant strawberries added a dash of color and tang to the exquisite dessert. Throughout our epicurean escapade, we were guided by the ever-charming Lambert, whose genuine warmth and attentiveness elevated our dining experience to celestial heights. The ever-vigilant Manager Jackie ensured that every detail of our evening unfolded seamlessly, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the culinary wonderland that is Tao Northern Chinese Cuisine. In a world of commonplace dining experiences, Tao Northern Chinese Cuisine is a beacon of culinary creativity and hospitality. It's not just a meal; it's an enchanting voyage to a land where flavors reign supreme and gastronomic dreams come true.
We tried the lunch menu and the food was a bit underwhelming, think a fast food place on the food court quality. The prices are reasonable though and the lunch combos include a choice of meat, soup, spring roll and rice. The service was good, so it is ok for what it is. If you are in the area and you want a quick Chinese meal, it is not too bad.
Came here with my boys for lunch after the archery range. They loved the dim sum, the Bao, the pot stickers, the crispy tofu. I loved the braised beef soup. Service was great, friendly and welcoming. Definitely be coming back
Nice place but food was not great.
Fruit fly fried rice is decent. They gluten free aware Dietary restrictions: GF AF Food : 5/5 |
It was 27C outside, the restaurant was empty on a Thursday afternoon; yet, their AC broke and no fans to cool off the place. Felt like an oven inside. Dont order any deep fried battered food. All batter, dried up and no minimal meat.
Food was delicious, vibes were amazing, and service was great! Coming back again for sure :)
Very nice atmosphere easy parking great good at reasonable prices
What an adorable restaurant! We went for a quick lunch, because we heard that they serve celiac safe gluten free food. I was impressed by the variety of safe options. The lemon fish was too die for! Something I never get and now will be craving Highly recommend and we will definitely be back on our next trip through Toronto! Dietary restrictions: Separate fryer for gluten-free dishes. Make sure to tell the server that you have allergies/intolerances. They do a great job of relaying information to the chef and ensuring that your food is safe.
Im never disappointed!! Always serves good food.
Sorry, no photos. We tried their offerings for the first time this evening by Take Out. Let me just say that this is a step up from most Chinese restaurants catering to a North American audience. We substituted the shrimp in the Shanghai noodles with chicken and we were quite happy. The spring rolls were crispy and FULL of filling. Highly recommend. The crispy beef is one of the best we have had. Will try their dim sum next time.
Their ha gow and Szechuan peanut sauce dumplings are my favourite.
Was expecting authentic northern Chinese food and this was far from it. Food is catered towards a Western, Caucasian palate and does not have authentic Chinese flavours. Vinegar tastes like it was mixed with soy sauce. Service and atmosphere were nice though.
Love this place! A little pricier than most Chinese restos but worth the extra cost for special occasions. Nice cocktails too. Will add photos next time I go. Dietary restrictions: The server took pains to offer suitable items for a gluten-free diet for my guest. Parking: Not a lot of spots but lots of parking across the street in the Canadian Tire lot. Will add info on accessible spot(s) next time I go.
Ordered delivery. The crispy beef was definitely not beef tenderloin. Tough and chewy beef. The general Tao chicken was half dark meat despite me calling to ask and was assured it was all white meat. But the worst part was the taste. Pure sugar syrup. No flavour. Had to throw out the food it was that bad. And I never leave bad reviews as everyone has a different taste. But this was just inedible. So many other great places in this city.
wish i could give no stars allergy alert do not order takeout from TAO chinese food. we ordered gluten free but food was delivered with gluten owner is away for 3 weeks no one could speak chinese to tell kitchen to prepare gluten free!!
Kid-friendliness: Family friendly and great ambience Recommended dishes
Food was excellent. Every dish we got was fantastic. Good portions, food felt light not full of MSG. We were very impressed with the taste of the sauces. If you like high quality Chinese food this is it. Prices are reasonable as well.
Ive been a few times and the quality of the food is always good. The restaurant is super calm, ambient music and fast service.
Nice place to go for lunch. Authentic Chinese food, great atmosphere.
Great Chinese food
amazing food and excellent service
Service and atmosphere were great, however the food was very underwhelming, especially for the cost.
One thing not to order on the menu Salt and Pepper shrimp - for $22 you are lucky if you get 8 shrimp and absolutely nothing else. Favor..well there is none. Just plain deep fried shrimp on a plate with a granish you cannot eat. Otherwise my friend order Chicken and Shrimp with noodles and veggies and and was great for $17. Food is very bland.
Fantastic food! Very delicious, fast service, and not expensive! Friendly staff, clean rest. Highly recommended!
Personally, the xiaolongbao is legit. The food was delicious. The staff was also very kind and attentive. Price is reasonable.
So delicious! Good food! Yum! When I went there today the lady was really nice and friendly. Nice place to eat. I would want to come back again.
We ordered from here using Uber Eats. We were given someone elses order. I phoned the restaurant and they said my order was still there on the counter, and that it was Ubers fault and I needed to complain to Uber. They said I could come get my food. Despite the annoyance, I went and got my food. Once at the restaurant, I noticed that two employees of the restaurant were overseeing the pick-up of orders by delivery drivers. Two employees of the restaurant are responsible for handing off deliveries to drivers and they have the audacity to blame the delivery driver, and then to inconvenience a client! The food was mediocre, very bland and not worth the effort we ended up having to go to. Zero customer service, shady excuses, and bland food. Enjoy.
Tried this spot as it s close by and we were hoping to satisfy our dumpling craving. We tried the Xiao Long Bao (pork soup dumplings), steamed chicken dumplings, steamed pork & chive dumplings, and pan fried pork buns. We felt satisfied with the amount we ordered due to the small sizes of the dumplings and we found the flavours to be quite fresh. Our favourite dish was the pork bun- it was so warm, the filling was delicious, flavourful and fresh. The dumplings we found to be just okay. All in all, we spent $40, which I think is definitely a little pricier than other dumpling options relative to quality. The soup dumplings were not comparable to others I ve had - they were mediocre and just didn t get the job done in my opinion. As well, we found the wrapping of the dumplings to be quite thick. I don t think that we would order dumplings from this spot again; however seeing the reviews others have left, I m definitely open to trying other dishes here. The staff were very pleasant and friendly, and our order was ready in 15 minutes- quick and prompt!
Fantastic
I ordered here first on Uber. I got the Shanghai noodles and general Tao chicken. It was so good me and my boyfriend decided to go in person next time. We tried some drinks and a couple other items from the menu, everything tasted so good, and service was great too. The waitress was prompt and checked in to make sure everything was perfect. This is my new favourite restaurant. 10/10 recommend.
Thank you Tao for hosting a wonderful and delicious 90th birthday party. All the guests enjoyed the variety of menu options and the fantastic service! Totally recommend Tao for your next special event!
Usually order takeout from here which is consistently delicious. This time we dined at the restaurant. Everything was super tasty and the server was very attentive. We ordered general tao chicken, sweet and sour shrimp, Shanghai noodles, rice, chilli cashew eggplant.
The Ambiance is welcoming and charming. A great place to dine in. Staffs were polite as we went to eat there nearly closing time but still they made sure that everything is fine.
Amazing food , must have kung pao chicken , schezwan noodles with rice . Dumpling was nice taste too . Friendly and courteous staff and perfect for a weekend luncheon
We ve ordered delivery from here a few times and have always liked it. We particularly like the chicken wings, noodles with beansprouts and the general Tso chicken. Black bean beef is a little underwhelming in terms of flavour so I d give that a pass.
Amazing food and great service! We love the hot and sour soup and dumplings. Food comes quickly, hot, and is delicious. Totally recommend, great place for a date or for a family dinner!
Enjoy the food here. Family owned. Excellent service. Been coming here for 2yrs and never disappointed. Food
We like Tao, food is usually consistent and delicious
Everything here is awesome, delicious food, excellent customer service, cozy atmosphere. well be back for sure!
We had the KUNG PAO CHICKEN. It was spicy but not too spicy. The vegetables, chicken and peanuts had complementing flavours and textures. Thé appetizers came quickly and staff was attentive throughout the meal.
Absolutely delicious Chinese cuisine. Highly recommended. Fantastic service, reasonable prices, super tasty food. Only complaint is the parking. We lucked out the last time we went as went for lunch. But during dinner, parking is nearly impossible!
Ordered the broccoli beef and chicken off uber eats. Ended up finding a piece of metal in the food that resembled something off a stainless steel scrubber used to wash dishes. Absolutely disgusting, ruined my appetite.
The waiter s service is very good and the Peking duck is delicious
Bad experience today trying to order through uber eats. I asked for no garlic as I have an allergy, and its almost as if they added extra garlic. Ive tried this restaurant a few times now. Two out of three experiences were very poor. People wont keep ordering if you dont improve the experience!
Ordered the noodles and it was a disaster. The pieces of chicken were of different sizes, varying enormously. The vegetables werent fresh. First and last time ordering from here!
Love the crispy beef and the mango salad. Recommend the lychee juice/soda. Pork buns are also good but occasionally gristly.
Very delicious!
Been a few times and food is generally consistently good.
Ordered on uber eats and Ive never received such small portions for the price. I ordered 4 items for $80 not including fees or tax and it only fed 2 people. 3 out of 4 items were decent quality.
We ordered take out for 7 including their Peking duck, everyone was very pleased.
Worst experience ever, even the manager was rude and got my order wrong, didn t even give back my money. Parking: N-a Kid-friendliness: N-a
Old smelly beef. The fish had so much sugar that it was totally unbeatable. They gave the wrong order and the food was one of the worse I ve eaten for a long time. Food : 1/5
Great food! Amazing service :). Amazing for family lunch or dinners. Food : 5/5
Best staff and in the city!
I bought a lunch special Hakka style noodles and shrimp to go. and I am unimpressed. First the hike up the price since i last bought it by an extra $3. They reduced the portion of the soup to a smaller container. The Spring roll is smaller too. I only got literally 2 pieces of Shrimp with my noodles. The dish generally is soaked with hot sauce and I cant taste anything else. The lady staff was nice but the food was terrible. For a $16 lunch special, they should improve the quality of the food.
High quality chinese cuisine Parking: 10 Wheelchair accessibility: Two steps to entrance and narrow entryway making it inaccessible by wheelchair
Ordered through Uber Eats. One dish missing from order (General Taos Chicken). Called restaurant- they would not deliver or offer a replacement and said to call UberEats even though it was clearly the restaurants fault (the item was listed on the bill, but not inside the bag). Reason given was that Uber takes 30% of their profits so they are allowed to make mistakes??? Unacceptable, poor service.
Told the girls to meet at Tao
Though tasty, the meat chunks for General TSO chicken were too large. They should have been half the size. I cut my pieces in half with a fork to be able to comfortably eat the very temperature hot pieces. The hot and sour soup accompaniment was quite good.
My last order. Love the sweet and sour fish but it is obviously pre cooked and reheated.
Beautiful restaurant with INCREDIBLE food! This is a must try!
Came here for a Saturday lunch / dim sum - incredible. A more soy based hot and sour, great dim sum, great service.
My new go-to neighborhood chinese place. The Spicy Hakka and Black Bean Beef were amazing. Loved the crispy pork buns and soup dumpling as well.
Food came out after 48 minutes (I counted) . Went on a Saturday evening at 6:30pm. The waitress took my order then she showed up 30 min later saying they ran out of it. Then never showed up to my table again for the entire evening. Had to ask for the manager. Terrible service. Cold food. took forever. Go somewhere else
Went early on a Sunday (5:30pm), versus a packed Saturday night. Finally have found an upper scale, delicious Chinese food restaurant . All dishes ordered were very Tasty and will definitely return to eat in and or take out the staff were very accommodating with great service Parking: Our reservation was early, so we parked in their limited parking spaces, however the street would be a good option
Ordered delivery - pork buns, coconut shrimp, crispy beef and spicy eggplant delicious!!!
Waited 1 hour for skip food delivery order. At the end customer cancelled the order and I get just 2 dollars for waiting from skip. While the delivery order was worth 11 dollars. Why do you accept more orders if you cant handle current orders?
The food prices should definitely be cut in half. Food is tasteless & chewy for the most part. This is the $33 half crispy duck which is soggy and tough.
Fantastic place; I receive great service every time - they know me by voice from my call in orders now. I receive great quality each time I order, which is often as I work in the area, so its a favorite for lunch. I struggle to find Chinese food places in this city that havent been Americanized with their flavor profiles, which thankfully this place has managed to avoid. Highly recommend this location - please continue to support local, especially for a family as great as the one who runs this restaurant!
Most disgusting service in all of Toronto. People here dont know how to behave, always shouting and screaming.
Recently moved to the area and a friend recommended Tao and I can honestly say this is our favorite resturant in Leaside. Crispy beef and lemon fish are favorites and everything else we have tried is 10/10 so far. Cant get enough!
Love ordering off their lunch menu, perks of working close by!
Not very clean
Delicious food, lots of veggie options. My personal favorite options are sesame balls and vegetable dumplings. Portion size for entrees are great as well.
After using Taos take out during the pandemic, we visited and dined in. As usual, the staff were friendly and the meal especially delicious! Portions were a bit reduced in size, and the prices increased. Still, it was worth the increase!! Restaurant was clean, and plenty of available parking. Well be back!!
Disappointing performance especially with the duck. It was very very hard and the special Tai sauce does not have a significant taste. The noodle was ok. Eggplant was good. Kind servers for sure. But no ambience and no great taste
Service was perfect. Awesome gentleman with much care in not only the food, but the overall experience. Food tastes great and was prepared well. The portion wasnt too little and it wasnt too much, so that any would be wasted. Cost was par for the course and reasonable. Spacious spot. If Im ever in the area again I would return in a heartbeat.
Very very good dim sum. Highly reccommend ot
Delicious food, we ordered crispy chilly tofu with cashews, Shanghai noodles, crispy noodles, sweet and sour shrimp, and beef with scallions. All very well served. Family owned. Very nice owners.
Best Chinese food Ive had in years. Love their DimSum selection and Peking duck.
Ordered lotus pockets and found this strand of hair inside! really disgusting. I threw all the foods I ordered because of this! So disappointing.
Fantastic food and service. Very friendly owner and staff. Definitely going back. Sorry, forgot to take photos, too hungry and delicious food, cant help.
Stumbled on Northern today for lunch. I m a long time asian foods fan, mostly garnered on Spadina. Best won ton soup I can recall. Tea was excellent and fan favourite General tsao chicken was fantastic. Super friendly staff. 5 stars.
One of the best restaurants in the city. The Peking duck is a must. Also the crispy beef and chilli chicken are delicious. The service is so friendly and they always go out of their way for us.
tasty dumplings sub par service and attitude dirty dishes and tables got our order wrong, so we had to wait in the middle of our meal
Amazing food, friendly staff. Restaurant with great food for the whole family. Highly recommended!
I had been here a few times in the past and really enjoyed the food especially the peking duck. However, I was not impressed today when they charged $1.25 for a cup of hot water for an upscale restaurant. The appetizer chives pancake portion is also smaller now for $9 (website said $7). I also ordered the half roast duck but was not given any veggies/scallions to accompany the wraps. The duck meat was kinna dry. I also ordered fried pork buns and the custard buns but the server brought the wrong item and was upset when I asked to switch. She flew the menu on the table behind and left begrudgingly to fetch the correct order. My girlfriend and I were not feeling full and had to go get burgers instead. Wouldnt want to return again!
Tasty almost authentic northern Chinese food. Great, friendly service. Rare Chinese resto with outdoor dining. Reasonable prices.
Tao was a gem of a place when it first opened (have eaten in and take out) But has gone downhill fast! Taste is no where what it was and their prices are now crazy expensive for what they serve portion wise.
Tbh this was the worst Chinese experience I ve had in years, i ate from here twice once dine in and once delivery and i felt like i was back in new york just tryna get some food because everything was closed. Their chicken was dry chewy like i couldn t even digest it and the worst part was the rice,.. how do you get rice wrong i m super disappointed and was a waste of money dont bother wasting your time if your thinking about trying their food.
Fantastic meal every time.
Quality of the food was not good. General Tao was dry and barely any meat. Pineapple fried rice was okay, but not worth $19.50. Crispy beef was disappointing. I expected more for $20 a dish.
Very friendly Family atmosphere The food was served quickly The food tasted delicious.
3 years ago, I rated this restaurant 5-star. As of today, this is the worst place I have eaten in in years! I should have followed my intuition and gone to Perfect Chinese instead! We got our drinks 15 minutes after ordering. Our app didn t arrive at all that I asked them to cancel the order! Ordered Xiao Long Bao, Fried Rice, Kung Pao and Honey Pork. Kung Pao arrived 45 minutes after ordering, fried rice came 48 minutes after ordering and waited an hour for the tasteless, bland, boiled Honey Pork after ordering! Never again!
Delivery driver abandoned food at my door without the courtesy of a knock or call, risking my order being stolen. Not sure if this is an Uber eats deficit but pretty bad. Will avoid this restaurant and Uber going forward
Jackie and Tao employees had great customer service and were very welcoming. I would highly recommend.
Good food, and friendly people.
This place started getting me into Chinese cuisine, super tasty and has a variety of flavours! The Pork Dumplings are so much nicer than any of the other I ve eaten Also the owners have really cute kids that come around every now and then
They make an excellent green curry, and many other very tasty asian dishes.
Fast and good. Great value and food for dinner
Absolutely delicious food! The crispy beef, green curry and hot and sour soup are incredible. The staff are very friendly and helpful if wanting to explore new dishes. Trust their recommendations!
Excellent neighbourhood restaurant for both dine-in (when possible) and take-out. Delicious dim sum, crispy beef, Hakka noodles and Kung Pao chicken, to name a few. Currently offering a 15% discount if paying by cash. Definitely recommend Tao!
It is a perfect dinner! Thank you! Everything is delicious!
Very bad customer service
Ordered Cantonese noodles on Skip the Dishes and got the Cantonese part in a soup container, with no noodles. Lol. You cant make this stuff up.
The food is delicious. Ive been there a few times and so far the food has always been well prepared.
Would not recommend at all especially for take out. I am in search of better quality food and thought this place would be it considering their location, but it is on par with Cest Bon/Mandarin only at higher prices and worse customer service. Food was incredibly oily, MSG laden and I definitely didnt appreciate how rude and impatient the lady was who took my order. I wont be ordering again.
Friendly place. Delicious food
Friendly, welcoming, and delicious! Not dirt cheap like many chinese takeout places but the flavour is worth it!
Excellent dim sum. Great spicy eggplant and cashews.
Wonderfully authentic Had the Tao Shredded beef & Mapo fish. Even the basic spring rolls were stuffed full of goodness and flavour. Recommend dining in, so dishes are hot and fresh at their best.
Worth the drive! My favorite Chinese restaurant, that 3 years after moving away from Leaside, I still think about regularly!
Got signature beef from their lunch menu, very cheap for the great quality. Wonderful vibe inside as well
Ive been here a couple of times now for a quick bite and a fast service. Both times Ive been amazed over how fresh the food is and how good the taste is. The price is very cheap. The last time I went with my mates the food came out fast. We had a good time, the food was hot and fresh. I recommend everyone to try this place.
Delicious Chinese food. I think there a wider mix than just Northern dishes. I quite liked the lemon chicken, the batter was crisp without being too heavy or oily. The Hakka noodles are also a favorite, just enough heat to taste but still mild enough for almost everyone.
Super tasty noodles!
Hygiene is terrible :(
Wanted a quick takeout lunch. Hostess recommended some stir-fry noodle dish. Was with chicken and shrimp. Disappointed. Shrimp had no flavor. Noodles were generic chicken was mediocre. For a 16$ dish I expected more flavor. There were maybe 3/4 shrimp and not much chicken . Mostly fried noodles no sauce etc. Had better luck and flavor in the food court at union. Wouldnt go back. Sorry
never go on this restaurant. very cheap quality food and don t know how to talk with custmer
Excellent Northern China cuisine
Decorated in style There is room for improvement in the dishes.
The take-out was under par. The portions are to small for the cost, plus they got one of our orders wrong.
Great Peking duck really enjoyed it. Thanks
Very good food for a fair price. The people serving you is kind and polite. Would recommend and go back for sure!
Lovely.. cant say more... enjoyed lunch today
Dim sum was disappointing but the other chinese dishes looked delicious. Here is parking in the back which is awesome
Standard N. American Chinese masquerading as Northern Chinese Cuisine. Inauthentic & overpriced. Be aware: majority of 5-star reviews here are FAKE*
Seemed relatively fresh, but had no flavour at all. The reviews seem a bit deceiving here. We ordered in, so could only base upon the food quality. Expensive for what it is for sure.
You want a classy and inexpensive place to eat some great chinese food then Tao is the place to go.Very friendly staff
The food was food but the service was horrible. I don t usually leave reviews, ever, but felt that I must for this.
Curry cashew fried rice is the best.
Food was great and the service was excellent. This place is a hidden gem
We began by ordering delivery from Tao and we were quite impressed. We did take out one night and it was even better. This weekend we took the time to visit in person and we were very pleased with the food, service and atmosphere. The Peking duck was so juicy and flavourful. It was also nice that it came with so many accompaniments, including mango! Fried Calamari with ginger sauce was excellent and the lettuce wraps were fab. We ve had the Cantonese Chow Mein before and it s.good. My only suggestion would be to add some pork and squid. We will definitely be back!
Hands down - Best general tso chicken I ve had in a Long time! The staff was very knowledgeable & kind
Excellent food. Decent portions... Nice staff. If you like spicy, recommend!
Best dumplings in the area. Fast service and very family friendly.
We ordered from Skip the Dishes, the menu doesnt show steamed rice, so we called the stores, but the services is bad, food is bad and expenses, not worth, wont order any more.
IT WAS HORRIBLE!!!! We specifcally ordered TWO STEAMED RICE but we didnt get any, we called the manager, she was in a VERY bad mood, and we told her about our issue, she didnt bother to respond and just said I will tell my boss in a very rude way and left before we send anything. Also, I ordered dessert, and the served mangos, but it was not what I expected. The mango was dry and stiff and when I bit into it, it was so sour and dry. The dessert was not worth it, there was a tiny square of rice and ice cream that melted. IT COST 10.90, TOTALLY WAS NOT WORTH IT. I was not very happy with this order. Next time, I will choose I a different restaurant......
The waitress is not good. Bad attitude when customers come
Excellent General Tao Chicken!
Delicious very fresh and surprisingly fast. most times my orders were ready in 15 minutes! amazing!
Always great food with speedy service.
Absolutely horrible food. Not at all fresh and smelled as well as soon as we opened the packet. I would have loved to give 0 stars and also if I could would have liked to report them as well. The scare of getting sick was on top of bad tasting stale food. Very sad.
Love, LOVEEE the ambiance, cleanliness, friendly staff. The Food is amazing! Ginger Cashew Chicken *Chefs Kiss*
This restaurant offered us amazing food, great flavours be it for dim sum or à la carte food. Very diverse menu. As a drink, had the lychee martini and that was a happy discovery! The place was extremely clean and service was fast. Our hostess Jacky offered us commendable service and hospitality like no other! Had a wonderful experience first time there, will definitely go back!
Two dishes that everyone must order: deep fried calamari and drunken garlic shrimp. I swear they must lace both of these dishes with crack They are that addictive! The calamari is fried perfectly, then they toss it with onions, garlic, Thai chili pepers, and a seasoning mix that is AMAZING. Im drooling just thinking about it The drunken shrimp is made with a garlic beer sauce per their menu. The result is a fragrant bite of bliss from each morsel.
Great location in Leaside. Very nice decor and ambience. Great staff. Excellent food! Highly recommended! Not too expensive and excellent quality food. Lobster is delicious!
Amazing food. One of the best places for Chinese food in the city. Its even amazing for takeout. Always so fresh and delicious.
I had bad experience with waitresses , no respect to the customers, very rude and they dont have time management skills for customer orders, she told me your order will take 10 min I wait more 25 minutes and she ask me to leave or cancel your order if you wish after all !!!
Great outdoor experience
I have never written a negative review for a restaurant before now. I was motivated to write this review based on the service my wife and I received at this restaurant. My wife asked a couple of polite and innocent questions about the menu and the waitress answered in a rude and impatient manner. Then she essentially ignored our table while being very chummy with the other customers. Some food was ok (Won Ton Soup and General Tao Shrimp). The hot & sour? soup and beef with broccolli were both not good. The beef was not good quality. I will definitely never go back again even though it is a convenient location for us
We went for the first time for a lunch and we both loved the food. The waiter was friendly and polite. The food was delicious, with copious portions. Definitely a great restaurant in the neighbourhood
This is some of the best chinese Ive had and the lunch combos are amazing value
Nothing about this restaurant is northern Chinese. Decor and location are great; that s about all. Dim Sum Har Gow skin was sticky and doughy. Pan fried pork buns: obviously just reheated since middle was still cold. (They could ve just thrown it in the microwave a minute longer) XiaoLongBao: meh. Passable for cheap dim sum places. Black Bean Ribs: Ok taste wise; but got more cartilage pieces than bone-in pieces (those who know Maybe this place is good for Leaside ethnic food I guess?
Good food, copious portions
Ordered on skip the dishes. Food was substandard. Quality and taste. Hot and sour soup was black in color definitely not fresh. Garlic broccoli was overcooked and had bitter taste. One star is too much !
Delicious. Great lunch menu.
My parents eat here at least once a week, excellent service and an excellent meal every time!!
