Tzatziki in East York

Their dealing with customers was disrespectful and the shop was not clean at all. I do not recommend it to anyone.

Tzatziki is a small off the Danforth restaurant which is a great spot with great food and an outdoor patio that helps the atmosphere category. Very well priced for Greek food

I ordered what I thought was 2 chicken skewers from uber. I received one. The picture via uber for this restaurant is very misleading. It shows two sticks in the picture and the title is Chicken Sticks. There is absolutely no description to advise only one stick is given. Also the chicken is really dry leading me to believe its frozen. Ive never eaten here before, it was the first restaurant to pop up in my uber search. I wont be trying it again especially based on the other reviews. Another thing, I paid almost $12 which included tip for the driver. Its hwy robbery and I think no restaurant that wants to use the uber service should mark up their menu prices to cover the merchant charges from uber. $6.99 for one stick, plus delivery, taxes, tip... A little far fetched when I expected two sticks.

Ordered from this restaurant on Uber Eats. I ordered two chicken Slovakia dinners and Rice was not an option as a side, so we assumed it came with the dinner like in the pictures! No rice with our meals? Called the restaurant to get a too bad response!

Ordered a chicken souvlaki wrap through UberEats and it was one of the nastiest bites I ve taken in a while. The chicken was burnt and to mask it, they drowned the thing in tzatziki sauce. It was very stale and dry too, like it was cooked a while ago. The fries in the wrap tasted like cardboard. Avoid this place!

I waited about half an hour with my pregnant wife before leaving, primarily because I could not tolerate the abuse of the owner/ manager towards the delivery guys anymore. He seemed drunk, could just be a horrible person too. Owner and the employees were mocking them, making fun of these poor delivery guys, giving them hard time just for the fun of it. Why does these the insecure guys has to abuse other weaker human to feel good about themselves that I will never understand, but it s disgusting and they should be ashamed!

35 dollars for a gyro plate! Which is slightly larger than an actual gyro wrap, 35!!!!! Food is mid or lower mid : dry meat and store brought bread again for 35 dollars!!!!! And the stuff of restaurant just bluntly ignorant and rude, no sense of service, I wait for 35 mins and reminded them and they just brush me off with not even an apology . Not again.

First time ordering from them. The roasted potatoes and tzatziki were okay didn t taste much like curry like the chicken souvlaki stick, it was terrible it tasted like curry. I know what curry tastes like because I can t stand it. It s supposed to be Greek food. Will never order from there again.

I had a very unpleasant experience at your restaurant due to a rude and disrespectful employee. A heavy-set man working at the counter When I came to pick up my meal, I encountered a staff member who behaved in an extremely unprofessional manner. He was loudly and rudely interacting with an Uber delivery person in front of customers. The Uber driver, being respectful, did not respond to the employees aggression. After leaving the restaurant, I asked the delivery person what had happened, and he told me that he was in desperate need of the order and didn t want it to be canceled. The employee was forcefully insisting that the Uber driver give the receipt and inform another staff member to prepare his order, which shows a lack of respect and professionalism. Where is the restaurant management in addressing such unacceptable behavior? This review addresses the issue clearly and conveys the seriousness of the situation while remaining polite and factual.

Very good food

I have to agree with most of these reviews. The service is definitely not good. The food is mediocre at best considering the price they charge. There are plenty of other Greek food places in the area that are by far more superior to this one.

I recently rediscovered this place after many many years. In the past, I had only been in for coffee but tonight I had the spinach pie and Greek salad and a couple of beers on the very relaxing and comfortable patio. The food was spectacular the homemade spinach and cheese pie was so delicious with a really nice crust and a very large Greek salad that was done to perfection. I especially liked the dressing & generous with the olives. Frank, the man who served me Was Friendly, professional and very welcoming and served me as if I was Family. The whole place has a wonderful vibe and the food was really good. It s just a couple of blocks north of the Danforth on a little side street and it is so Wonderful! I ll be Enjoying some more summer nights on the lovely patio with nice lights in the trees beside the patio. Great ambience. I could see that it would be a nice spot during the day too! I will definitely be a regular visitor. Vegetarian options: I had the spinach pie and the Greek salad and both were perfection

Ordered just now on ubereats (it s currently 4am) and this is probably the best Greek food I ve ever had,, I m so surprised that that yummy of a plate would be served this late at night! And the portions are so big it s definitely worth it!

I ordered around 3 am due to time zone differences from traveling. I was craving greek food and Tzatziki satisfied my cravings! The portions were generous and the food was of good quality. Despite living quite far from the restaurant, the food was hot and fresh when it arrived through Uber Eats. I would definitely order again or dine in at the restaurant.

everytime ive ordered from this place their missing something last time was potatoes, time before was salads, time before was pita and salads.. keep in mind i order chicken dinner, with rice and potatoes comes with salad and pita.. place is called Tzatziki and every single time its always missing the tzatziki... change your name to Never full order. place is trash order elsewhere.

Poor food quality and greek salad was horrible

Really disappointed. Used to be our favourite Greek spot in the city. The last time we ordered the portions were small and the souvlaki was made from ground meat. Dinner was 30$ each and it was a huge disappointment.

They have charged me twice for the food when I only received one. I cancelled the first one right away since I noticed that I had accidentally ordered pork souvlaki instead of chicken and I cancelled right after I placed the order not even one minute after! And I ordered chicken souvlaki right away from the same restaurant. I noticed that I have been charged twice for both pork and chicken which is not fair! I contacted both the restaurant and ubereats and I received absolutely zero help. On another note, I was not given a notification that I will be charged for the whole food order when I was cancelling the pork, otherwise I would have kept the pork order. This is frustrating and really below standard level experience from uber. This was misleading just to get more money from people when in fact neither of the ubereats or the restaurant should have received the money. I don t know how they can be so irresponsible to even provide a reasonable response. I totally get the need for this cancellation fee if someone orders and then 5+ minutes changes their mind, as things are already being done on merchant and driver end, but for an immediate request to cancel (which for me was less than one minute and that was to find the cancel button) , I think this fee is rubbish

Second time in a row me and my friends are getting lamb. It s so delicious, we ordered it late night, and it still tasted so good and the portion is very generous comes with Greek salad. They even put olive oil and tzatziki on the side.

Terrible service food was good but was rushed and unorderly. The guy came out saying to us complaining why he didnt get a tip when in fact he did nothing to serve us. It was pretty much self serve. I truly believe if you want tip you earn it dont expect it. Terrible to Little customer service. RUDE. I ordered online, and it was awful. I had order notes which were not followed at all. The souvlaki was not cut meat, but spicy sausage mystery meat shaped like souvlaki. The salad was good, but otherwise I would never order from here again. Dietary restrictions: I would not trust them with dietary restrictions as they cannot follow order notes and you dont know what is in the weird sausage they are pretending is souvlaki.

I just ordered a calamari dinner and I swear those are old, boxed frozen calamari. They are so hard to chew and they have no taste. Half the portion was actually pepper rings breaded. Its the third time I order at this place and to pay $30+ for food that tastes like Ive bought it frozen and cooked it in the microwave is pretty disappointing. Never going here again!

The food has strong rancid taste, literally the worst chicken I have ever had in my life, seems like it was cooked a month ago in oil that was used thousand times. I am not even sure it is safe to eat it - had to throw two portions into garbage.

Worst pork souvlaki in my life. I tried it at multiple places on Danford and the meat was overcooked, tasted like it was cooked, left for the next day and warmed again.

TLDR : The quality of food has gone down in case if you remember Tzatziki from the olden days :/ Have heard really good things about Tzatziki & have always wanted to try the same, however have heard from many of the veteran foodies who have lived in Toronto forever that the quality of food and the service of Tzatziki in the recent years have been really bad. We placed a dinner takeout through Uber eats ordered Pita breads (x2), Pork Souvlaki Platter with rice and roasted potato wedges on the side (x2), Chicken Souvlaki Platter with rice and roasted potato wedges on the side x1), Spanakopita (x2) and a bunch of Tzatziki dips. The Spinach in the Spanakopitas especially at the bottom had the after taste of whatever was cooked before the spinach in the pan. That yucky taste affected the quality of the entire Spanakopita in my view. The quality of souvlaki platters weren t really great as they used to be as well. The pork and the chicken kebabs were hard and not crispy as well The pita breads were of good texture. The Tzatzikis were nice and rich. Definitely a 5 for the dip

I absolutely LOVE Greek food and Ive found a new spot to put on my repeat list! I tried Tzatiki thanks to an UberEats deal for BOGO free. I ordered the FRIED CALAMARI DINNER which comes with a restaurant appetizer-size amount of deep fried calamari, Greek salad, and your choice of two sides. As you know, for these BOGO deals, UberEats makes you input/order two of the exact same things. However, I asked on the instructions if they could pair one with potatoes and rice, and the other with potatoes and pita, and they were kind enough to do so. I personally recommend the potatoes (for being soft and flavorful) as well as the pita (so chewy!) rather than the rice (tasty, but not as good as Jimmy the Greek, heh). I also really enjoyed their Greek salad as it was filled to the brim with onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, feta cheese... You name it! Though this combo was on the pricier side, it is well worth it for the portions, which are huge and likely enough to feed two! Everything was packaged well, so it travelled well also.

Very disappointed, seems like a super disorganized restaurant. Placed an order via Uber eats, waited for an hour all of a sudden the restaurant cancels the whole order despite the UberEats driver being there to pick it up. Will never order again, couldn t even reach them by phone to do a pick up at the location myself.

Every time I come into the city for business, I always make sure to stop in and grab a few chicken gyro on a pitas to go. Very tasty and big portions. I always grab to eat while I visit and the other to go for later. Friendly owners and always good conversations when I drop in.

Ordered a pork gyros on a pita, wasn t bad but wasn t great either. They were generous with the meat, and it was fresh, but it didn t have a lot of flavour. It needed more seasoning and more marinating time. And their tzatziki needs more garlic, I mean like way more, because it was barely there. You d think with the place being called Tzatziki, they would at least nail that. I myself am Greek, and I know all about what proper Greek food should be. Tzatziki - you guys have some work to do!

Opa! This little corner delight is a treat. We found it randomly one night and its become a favourite spot. You have to love an owner that says he closes when the last customer leaves happy... Food is fresh, authentic, and very well seasoned and presented. You truly taste the magic of Greece in these dishes. The wraps are overstuffed with tasty ingredients and delicious sauces. Tzatziki sauce? You better believe it. Try any of the gyro wraps and enjoy the dressed fries. Theyre perfectly fried fries with a healthy dose of delicious olive oil, feta, and other yumminess. The desserts are very tasty and refreshing. The selection is always varied, and the friendly owner is very happy to help describe whats what. The seating is cozy and clean. Outdoors, theres additional tables to enjoy the food and friendly atmosphere. Overall, the food is amazing, and the service is second to none. It feels like family when you eat here. Ive been here a few times and can never wait to eat the food. Hopefully one of these days Ill be patient enough to take pics. Vegetarian options: Fries and salads are available. Parking: Depending on time, but its on the corner so theres several roads to choose where to park.

Pork gyro is my go to. Open late cheap eats for Greek food. Portions are always good, they never skimp on toppings. Results in quality of food is always the same whether its super busy or dead. Staff are always friendly and will always go back. The Italian restaurant just around the corner next to it is also owned by owner and has good veal sandwiches.

I was severely disappointed with how much Tzatziki has fallen off. They were my go-to restaurant for Greek food whenever I was in the area. The chicken soulvaki dinner was decent. I d give it a 3.8/5 The pork gyro was packed to the brim. If you want bang for your buck then opt for the gyro. I d give it a 3.6/5 The Greek fries were terrible. Lack of taste and lack of proper toppings. They needed to be seasoned way more and the fries must have been sitting for hours. 2/5

i don t love writing poor reviews, but i see them as a way of constructive crit so business owners can see issues from the other side and tend to them. i really wanted to enjoy my visit here but unfortunately there was too much that required attention. first was the wait to get our orders taken. they only had one waitress on and she was running around so much. i asked the counter if i could order there and they said to sit and she will come. apparently she thought we had already put our order in too lol. no acknowledgement she just continued to breeze right by us. the food looked delicious but only some of it was. the calamari was cold and tough, fries lackluster. the chicken and potatoes and pita were good! one bathroom, though clean, had a soap dispenser completely off the wall and unusable. my biggest gripe is we were denied tap water! i thought that was a requirement of any restaurant? overall, they were unable to handle a busy day and we paid the price for it. and they are not cheap!

My husband came home a few nights ago with a chicken gyro pita from this place and it was really delicious. So we decided to go to the restaurant for dinner tonight. What a disaster. We waited in line for over half an hour and when we reached the front of the line, were told that we needed to wait even longer to order because they were busy with their Uber and other delivery orders. The take out and eat in customers are apparently lowest priority. My husband somehow convinced them to take our order. We then waited another 15-20 minutes at least so I went up to the counter and asked the person who took our order how much longer it would be. He said we had to keep waiting (didn t give me an actual wait time). I told him I have a small child that s hungry and I m not waiting and don t bother with the order. We left and walked to the McDonalds up the street. It was dinner time so of course it was busy but they are not organized to handle so much business. They need to figure out how to run a busy restaurant or keep it as a delivery only business since they only seem to care about the delivery orders. I worked in a restaurant for almost 20 years and this was completely unacceptable. Although the food is good it is not worth the awful customer service. There are many other great Greek restaurants in the area who actually know what they re doing.

Absolutely disgusted. Ordered BOGO calamari ($29) and chicken souvlaki dinner ($32). Not only is the price criminal for deep fried rubber which sadly was the state of the calamari, but the chicken plate came with literally 3 potatoes, the most pale, soggy fries, and the chicken came with HAIR wrapped around it. I could throw up. Not what I expected for a restaurant in Greek town?? The tzatziki was good though so I guess that is something??? Stay well away from this place ..

Pretty good spot with good portions. I got a chicken souvlaki wrap and it had great flavour all around. They have some interesting toppings too. The only things Id comment on are 1) the wrap is suuuuper messy to eat. I wouldn t recommend getting this to go under any circumstance unless you wanna be the guy walking downtown with white sauce all over themselves lol. Other thing is they don t have canned drinks (besides bubbly), only bottled. But otherwise this is a solid late night spot with quick service and good food.

We were craving Greek food and stumbled upon this nice lil spot. Parking may be tough as we parked in a random neighborhood. When I placed my order, they were super busy and had many to go orders & they still made time to take my order. The food took roughly 20 mins which isnt too bad. But oh man, the food was A M A Z I N G. I got the chicken souvlaki in a pita & my wife got the pork souvlaki dinner. The food was pack with flavour, the tzatziki was fantastic, meat was juicy and cooked to perfection. We will be definitely come back here again to dine in.

This place serves the best gyro here in Toronto and in Canada. Ive ate other gyros before but this restaurant really satisfied me with their gyros. The pita was freshly made, not even burnt, the workers took their time on the food and made it be very delicious. The atmosphere of the store is one of the best Ive ever seen. The place was packed with people and they turn on music and the workers even sometimes sing along with the music.

Really reliable spot that stays open later than most other places nearby. Had the chicken souvlaki dinner and pork souvlaki dinner as well as an avgolemono which was great. They also threw in some of their leftover sweet phyllo pies made with pumpkin and raisins (maybe seasonal) which were fantastic. Definitely reccomend.

Found a FINGERNAIL in my calamari Uber eats order. Halfway through eating the dry, rubbery, tasteless calamari I noticed something hard. Took it out of my mouth and it was a fingernail. Delicious

One of my favorites for casual Greek food. They have excellent gyro, tzatziki and service. Love coming here for lunch or a quick dinner with my daughter, who also loves the food.

Garbage option, fries tasted like store bought, oven baked cardboard. The salad was a spoonful with one single olive and the chicken slouvaki had enough dip for one piece. Do not go here, this is an insult to greek food and good customer service

Got take out from here. Although portions seem to be getting smaller, the quality and taste of the chicken souvlaki dinner was effing phenomenal. The tzatziki was so good and garlicky, potatoes better, rice perfect, chicken was juicy and perfectly charred. My new favourire Greek restaurant. Just wish I had more potatoes and rice, because it was so damn good!

Horrible!

My husband and I decided to have a souvlaki at Tzatziki today. We ve been there before and in the past it was good. Today, I ordered one PORK souvlaki and one CHICKEN souvlaki. It took some time to come, and when I asked when it s coming, the cook said: good things take time. I accepted that, because I know cooking CHICKEN does take time to cook. When it arrived, we received GYRO not meat souvlaki. My husband accepted the GYRO, but I returned mine because I ordered chicken SOUVLAKI not GYRO. The cook had a piece of a burned dried chicken souvlaki, which he put together and gave it to me. It was TERRIBLE! Both the pork GYRO and the chicken souvlaki were dry and tasteless. I was very disappointed. I told the cook about my dissatisfaction but he really didn t care. He took my money and said goodbye. This is not a restaurant I want to go to again.

What an amazing experience tonight here. We sat down the 4 of us and got taken care of so well. Fast service food was great and very very friendly staff thanks again we will be back !
