Filipino cuisine, Filipino comfort food , catering for company meeting, and filipino events .
Casual place. I had Jerk Chicken Sandwich for quick bite in between work, and it was very tasty. Coffee is good too. Will come back for Filipino Breakfast. Very friendly service.
We noticed this place while driving by and decided to stop in to try the Filipino food and taste some different flavours for a change (as opposed to the many chain restaurants that dominate the neighbourhood). We are so glad we did. My husband had the Tapsilog (marinated beef) and I had the sweet marinated pork breakfast dishes and they were so flavourful. Good sized portions and felt like we were treated to home cooked meals. We had a nice chat with the owner and are happy to be supporting a local business. We will be back!
Looked cute so I stopped for a drink. Had the Ube Latte and it was so so good. Service was friendly and I can't wait to go back to try the food.
I ordered from uber-eats and I ordered 2 items. Beef Pares and lechon kawali. Both were decent price. However, I was not satisfied by the portion of the lechon kawali and it was also so dry. The beef pares were okay and the portion was better. It came with rice, soup and the pares. If I were to recommend trying something here. I would recommend the pares and skip the lechon kawali. Overall, it wasn’t a good experience.
We ordere beef pares and it was great! The ambience feels like we're in the Philippines. We had a nice chat with the owner Kuya Arsenio. Will definitely come back again to try other food especially the Gotong Batangas. 🤤😊
Batangas bulalo. made to order and served perfectly piping hot. succulent broth. fresh veggies and sweet corn. beef mouth melting flavour. house made spicy oil to add if so desired and I soo desired on such a wintery day. a side of garlic fried rice strategically situated. hunger was completely eradicated and I became heavily fortified from the brisk February Canadian winter. Fyi, I left the corn to be consumed last and it's sweetness proved a perfect dessert.
Great homey restaurant with a friendly owner! I don't usually write reviews, but had to this time. The Pares and Beef Mami Noodles will be our go-to. Excellent portions and great taste. In addition to Filipino food, they also sell an assortment of other food, from sandwiches to jerk chicken. Pictured below is the mami noodles. Forgot to take a pic of the pares!!
This place has really great good at such low prices! I bought a quarter chicken dinner for $7 with a DRINK! The owner John is also a very cool dude.
Lechon kawali is the best! Hidden gem of scarborough
The food here is really great... Try it to believe it...
Iced coffee was excellent very friendly service
If you are looking for comfort foods that feels like home, this is the place to be. Beef pares, beef pares mami, bulalo, lomi batangas & gotong batangas are my go-tos when I feel I needed a cheer up. But they also have a variety of Filipino all-day breakfast which are usually a selection of silog meal. Owner is very friendly! I recommend this place 100%!
Tried this for the first time today, a client brought it to our office. Not impressed. Food not fresh, cookies stale! We wont be ordering from here.
I was craving for tapsilog for quite some time. I tried few silogans around the area but it didnt satisfy my palette. Thank God I tried Arsenios tapsilog, so tasty and tender. The sweetness of the tapa was just perfect. Definitely worth a try!
i really recommend their bangsilog tasty warm food and a nice local restaurant :)) Food : 5/5
Nasty person and nasty food. Save your money lot of other place with good service and good food. This is honest advise
Lomi is sooo good! Thanks for accommodating me. I know its kinda late. 20mins before closing time so I called and made sure it was delivered today because Im not feeling well. Thanks a lot!
Great Food!!! The best beef pares
Beef pares the best! Will try other dish next visit!
Delicious!! We ordered loming batangas and beef pares, hands down it was so good and owner was so kind. A must try! We ll definitely go back to try more food from their menu.
It would be nice if the owners took more pride in the shop. The shop is always messy. The garbage bin is always overflowing.
I dont usually eat Bangsilog, but I was extremely pleased to have tried it here. Flavourful, filling, I highly recommend stopping by if you want to get some great Filipino food. Would come back.
Homey restaurant with very delicious food. It looked lowkey but dont let that trick you into not trying the tasty dishes here.
Good prices and good food. Very friendly owner.
Food was tasty and flavourful! Owner was very nice! Will definitely be coming back to try out more of the menu. Thank you for the hospitality!
Really good filipino food and nice owner. Halo halo was delicious too
Not a hygienic place and the service is bad. There was a strand of hair on my food so I told the manager about it and they insisted that the hair strand might just be mine when the hair strand is black and my hair is light brown!! We ended up going to a different place where we got treated well and better food. I do not recommend this restaurant!!
Tried their booth at the Taste of Lawrence - sooooo good. That sisig was the best I ve had
Im giving 2 stars for the friendly staff. The food is not great, the restaurant itself is horrendously cluttered, and messy. If youve visited you know exactly what I mean, there were also numerous sticky traps hanging from the ceilings throughout the place loaded with dead flies. Decided that same day it would be my first and last visit. Its unfortunate, theyre really nice people but the food and atmosphere are very much lacking. I looked around got the green pass and did not see one I was genuinely curious as to how theyd pass with the place in the state that it is.
ordered gotong batangas today and it tasted bitter, i paid almost $40 for two goto. it was a waste of money.
The owner was a good person, The food is yummy I would recommend giving it a try. Its one of the few Filipino restaurants in the area.
I dropped by today to grab lunch with a friend. The owner Arsenio was very friendly and the food was delicious. First time having filipino food for my friend and he loved it. We had bangsilog (milkfish) which was boneless and tasty! Will definitely be coming back to support this local business!
A hole in the wall place, but the food is delicious, especially the ham and the mussels.
Great and big portion, and delicious food. Money well spent!
We ordered the Beef pares (braised beef) and it came with garlic rice and soup. We also ordered Bulalo. The beef pares is so tasty and we will definitely order again. Bulalo is fun to try as well
Great food and very friendly staff one of my favourite places to eat in the neighbourhood!!!
I come here to have a classic dining experience of getting personal service from the outstanding do it all owner
Garbage beef and small portion
I walked by this spot in the neighbourhood and the smell enticed me right away that I decided to get some lunch to go. The staff was very kind and helpful, food was delicious, great addition to the area!
Delicious yummy food
Great place, the owner is lovely and very passionate about food. Will be going there again.
Super impressed. Great Filipino & Island dishes. All the more impressive because he just suffered a significant break in. He offers full catering and, perhaps most interestingly Boodlefight (min ² people) on Saturdays. Vegetarian options: Plenty of veggie options, not sure about vegan tho.
Excellent food. Still trying new things on the menu
Been looking for a Beef Pares place in Scarborough. Finally found one! Best Beef Pares I ve had! Will definitely going to come back here again.
Good food
Enjoy
I really like getting the jerk chicken or cajun chicken. He had rice and peas but now he only goes with white rice unfortunately.
We recently ordered from Arsenios kitchen!. Glazed ham and ube cake to die for. Theyre really good, generous serving. Affordable Price! The owner John is really cool. Family is looking forward for future orders :)
Some of the worst quality food my wife and I have ever had. The pasta was dry, the tomato sauce on the lasagna tasted like it came from a can, and the Greek dish we had.... instead of tzatziki sauce, they replaced it with caesar salad dressing (Im assuming they thought we wouldnt notice). My wife walked away from the meal, my son who eats everything spit it out, and I stuck it out and finished the Fettuccini Alfredo even though the chicken was tough and tasted old/bad. Will not be ordering from here again.
I go here very often. For such a small place the variety is excellent. The Pancit is probably my favorite dish here with the Tandoori a close second.
Ordered through skip the dishes, food came fast. Lasagna portion was large, thick with layers and meaty. Rueben sandwich was great, thick with meat, cheese and veg and the bread was grilled in a panini press! They also know how to make real garlic bread very tasty.
