Have been twice now and would recommend. And would return. Went for lunch. Food is as expected. Nothing outstanding but also ordered simple items. Service was OK. Better guidance with ordering and more flexibility with options/ changes would be ideal.

This place was once good, but unfortunately they do not know how to take direction, and almost tried to poison me. I have a sever sesame allergy and I have stated that, they decided to overlook that.

Hands down the best sushi place I ve ever been to. I constantly come back here. The ingredients are fresh and the chefs really know what they re doing. I would go for the chef/specialty rolls as they are my absolute favourite. I always did take out but the cashier lady that is usually there is super nice and joyful.

I came here as I needed to be close to the hospital, and though my initial intention was to dine-in, the traffic really put me behind schedule so I changed my mind last minute and ordered takeout via their online ordering system instead. This process was super easy and I liked how they notify you on the app that you can get 10% off by choosing to pay at pickup via cash. We ended up ordering their Salmon Lunch and Sushi Lunch which are both quite similar. Salmon Lunch - salmon sashimi 3pcs, salmon nigiri 6pcs and your choice of maki. Served with miso soup and green salad for CA$20.99. Sushi Lunch - chefs selection of 6pcs nigiri sushi and your choice of maki. Served with miso soup and green salad for CA$16.99. Portions were average, nothing outstanding to rave about - if anything, some might say the portions of fish are smaller than what you typically see in North American sushi. The quality was good and the food tasted fresh. Presentation was also nice. The one disappointing thing was when we found a piece of fish bone! The food was all packaged well, using sustainable packaging.

Came across this gem and was really happy with their chirashi and steak teriyaki. Will be back to try their pressed sushi! Service was great and we enjoyed the music too!

Very good quality of food and excellent service. The sashimi and sushi were very fresh. We spilled a bowl of hot soup, the server promptly gave us a bag of ice and helped us to clean the mess. At the end of the meal, we were given a piece of chocolate and a bag of green tea to go, which is the icing of the cake. We ll definitely come back.

Ordered on Uber Eats and was surprised how good it was. Theres so much poor sushi out there (endless surimi, mayo, sriracha and rice krispies) ... But this was fresh and delicately prepared! Nice variety of fish, and perfect rice. A standout -- highly recommend! Food

My husband has placed three consecutive Uber orders in the past couple of weeks. While the first two were enjoyable, the latest one left us disappointed. The food wasnt fresh; the fish had an unpleasant odor, and the rice and fried bits were stale. We wont be ordering again.

We ordered the oshi platter, tuna tataki sushi and jackpot. The food was delicious. Sushi tasted fresh! The tuna was melting in our mouths! Our server was nice and friendly. We had a great experience there. Well definitely be back soon. Parking: You can park in the Canadian Tire parking lot.

This is the besssstttttt sushi delivery in the uptown area of Toronto. The only reason I took off a star is because everytime I order they take so long and always prolong the estimated time for delivery. They need to change the timeframe they give people because it s really annoying.

Chirashi, two aburi sushi dinners, chicken katsu, karaage, and yaki udon for 4 adults and a 7 year old - way too much good food. All of us rolled out of the restaurant with aching bellies and smiles on our faces.

I ve been coming here for a long time and have over 10 years in professional cooking myself. In the beginning it was more than great but overtime it seems that their quality in worksmanship/skill level dwindled. The salmon aburi is a prime example. Nowadays, the rice is loosely pressed, falls apart when touched and drenched in sauce. The rolls and sashimi is unevenly sliced. Front of house service is attentive and kind however.

Excellent and fresh sushi over several visits

The quality of food in this restaurant has diminished severely since the beginning of this year. I have had several orders with spoiled fish, dry noodles and beef that was chewy and clearly been sitting in the fridge for days. I don t recommend this restaurant at all if you care about maintaining the health of your stomach and budget. As a past regular customer, I will no longer order from them ever. The biggest disappointment of 2023 for me is Sushi by K.

Beef Yaki udon was nice. There were a lot of vegetables and good quality of beef. Sushi also has good quality externally. I really recommend this restaurant to others. My friends also like this restaurant.

This has some of the best sushi I have ever had. The torched stuff is amazing, their rolls are so good, the packaging is even pretty cool. They knock it out of the park every time I get sushi here. Sometimes the rice is still a little warm and my god its delicious. I have not had sushi this good anywhere else in this city. Would highly recommend this place.

So I just tried their sushi on Uber and it was fantastic. Im very picky and honestly dont like sushi unless its torched oshi sushi and theres only one place downtown toronto in which I like it. This spot may have had even better torched sushi than my go to toronto spot. Definitely top notch quality sushi. Ebi and salmon oshi sushi is a must try! Good job guys, keep it up! Sushi here was superb and the price definitely fits the taste, presentation and quality. I got the Oshi pressed Salmon and butterfish and a Black dragon roll. Both were great. The customer service was quick and friendly. However, I did run into a small issue of finding a hair on top of the black dragon roll. I m glad to say it was handled professionally and my server was kind enough to offer another roll on the house.

Had a great experience when ordering to go. I ordered on their website and the food was ready by the pickup time and the lady at the front was very kind and helpful. The food was great, the salmon tasted really fresh, the rice was fresh, and all the ingredients tasted good. The taste of the salmon is the first thing I notice at sushi restaurants, so I was really pleased to have had a positive experience here. I will definitely return and place more orders during my lunches. Also hoping to stop by to dine in at some point as the atmosphere and setting in the restaurant is really cozy and nice.

We had hamachi sushi, seared tuna square sushi and two rolls (hat trick and flame) and all four were excellent, pure and fresh taste. Wasabi available on the side (not forcefully injected). But to make it even better - the deserts were great too (tiramisu and green tea cheesecake)! Excellent, plan to be back.

One of the best sushi restaurants in midtown (east). Nice neighborhood restaurant with excellent food. I had the sushi dinner and an order of unagi maki. Everything was lovely and fresh. I found the pieces of nigiri sushi a little smaller but the quality and freshness is excellent. Sashimi sampler was also excellent and the fish was the perfect temperature too - not too cold. Thats where many other restaurants get it wrong. The fish is too cold and therefore tasteless. For dessert I tried their tiramisu, yes tiramisu. It was excellent and homemade. What a pleasant surprise that was. They are very friendly, polite and prompt. I highly recommend them.

This is a cozy little authentic Japanese restaurant. Staff is super friendly, but has changed often since the beginning. Newer staff is not as attentive as the ones from its early days. Food is amazing. Most importantly, the place is clean.

I went to Sushi by K for lunch as it s been my favorite local spot. While there I asked our extremely professional and friendly waitress about placing a large order for the Friday following (6 days notice) it was a Teriyaki dinner and Sushi for 25 people! She did not hesitate to work with me on this, coordinated with the chef and manager within minutes and had the final price and confirmation for me before lunch was over. On the following Friday we picked up the order and we were actually blown away by how perfect everything was. Everything was prepared perfectly, warmed, boxed and organized perfectly! The party was a complete success!!! This is THE BEST Japanese restaurant in Toronto as far as I m concerned! You have 25 very loyal customers now!

First time dining here for dinner. Space is nice and cozy. Staff and service was amazing and very friendly. Noticed a lot of take out orders. The food was delicious. High quality and super fresh fish and the rice used on the sushi was soft and portioned perfectly. Ordered the pork katsu, mix veggie tempora, large sushi platter with additional sashimi and oshi (torched) sushi platter! All highly recommend to try out!!

Ordered from Uber recently. Easily the worst quality sushi I have ever had in Toronto. Grey tuna, poorly cut salmon and tuna, chewy fish, flavourless and overly battered tempura shrimp, rolls that didn t stay together, wasabi made almost entirely of air with clearly dried out horseradish. VERY fishy tasting nigiri. Nothing that we ordered was acceptable. I had a few bites and tossed it. It was almost humorous just how awful every item was. My guess is that whomever is preparing the food is not trained at all in how to make sushi. Stay away.

Visited for lunch today with 2 friends. Ordered the salmon dragon, black dragon, salmon torched, rainbow and tuna Maki. We ordered the same thing twice. Delicious food, great ambience , great service and very fair price for the quality. Highly recommend and we will be back for sure!

I had chicken teriyaki and it was too dry and the sauce is just too sweet and not marinaded with the meat just like it was poured on top.

It s crazy, I have ordered from here more than 15 times (thanks to Uber eats letting me know lol). Last time they messed up my order and to make it right said leave us a five star review and we ll give you something for it. I did but they couldn t see the review or something. Then offered me one free roll. I said sure how about dynamite. He said that s too expensive how about avocado cucumber. guess being a consistent customer means nothing. I ll enjoy my last order I guess lol one thing we agree on is this place is pricey.

The quality of the sushi is really terrific, but the quality of the presentation is truly outstanding, far beyond what is necessary for take-out. First time in TO and went here for sushi with a couple of co-workers last night! The service was EXCEPTIONAL from the wonderful waitress that served us to the quality of sushi we received and ate! A MUST if you are looking to have great quality sushi!

Ordered through Ubereats and it did take over an hour and a half to leave the restaurant which was 30 mins longer than predicted. The sushi was very tasty! Ordered three different roles and the quality was amazing and fresh with delicious rice. The roles tend to fall apart easily and I wish they provided more than one soy sauce for the three roles I ordered. Definitely a must try!

We decided to try a dine-in lunch today. It was our first time here so we went for the chef selection lunch plate - moriawase lunch plates with spicy salmon maki and Unagi maki to try. Added a shrimp tempura. Expected a bit more variety from the chef selection lunch plate. Both the sashimi and sushi had the same fish(salmon, butter fish and tuna. There was too much rice and not generous enough with the fish on any of the maki, sushi or sashimi. Prefer my tempura a bit fluffier. The service was attentive and they credit us for the up charge on the unagi. We may try once more when we are in the neighborhood.

I had reliably ordered from here in the past and it was fresh, tasty and well portioned for the price (particularly traditional and tasty was the udon soup). This time I was less than impressed, I m not sure if this was a one-off but the sushi was falling apart with dry rice and the portions seemed really small! The udon noodles were mostly sauce and overall I was displeased with the experience for high cost paid.

I have been ordering takeout from Sushi by K since the beginning of the pandemic. We always enjoyed the sushi and loved the consistency of the quality. Finally, we decided to dine in for the first time and the experience was excellent. With two young kids, the servers were very accommodating and gave us plastic cutlery and plates to use. We ordered the Salmon Dinner, Green Dragon Rolls, California Rolls, and Teriyaki Chicken with rice. The food was delicious and fresh, I would highly recommend it to anyone. Parking: There is no free parking in front of the store. Street parking is not always available. Kid-friendliness: The restaurant offers plastic plates and cups for kids to use.

Cannot describe how delicious and fresh their food is. Discovered this beauty during the pandemic through Ubereats where their packaging and food came fresh and delicious! My boyfriend and I come here often now and it somehow gets more delicious when we stop by. Their beef teriyaki, dynamite roll, sashimi and in house tiramisu is amazing! Absolutely addicting. Was walking in the Leaside area around 11:30am and was looking to get some food at a neighbouring restaurant. That restaurant was closed Monday s and Tuesday s and saw Sushi by K. Did a quick Yelp review read and decided to go in and try this restaurant for lunch. They had a bunch of chef sushi lunch combo specials as well as chef kitchen lunch combos. I ordered the Aburi sushi lunch combo special and my spouse ordered the teriyaki salmon lunch combo. Let me roll it back to upon entering the restaurant, the posted hours of operation at the store showed it was opened, while google and Yelp was showing it closed, I suggested an edit and will see when it will be updated. Once we entered the restaurant we were greeted by our server who allowed us to choose any table we liked. We chose the table by the window. She asked us for our drinks order, and we decided to have the standard green tea offering which was gratis. We were neatly presented with the menus and went on to decide our above orders. We also added a order of gyoza and a order of the tempura shrimp on the side. A short wait and we were both presented with our green salad and miso soup. The salad was very fresh with a generous amount of mixed greens and Japanese orange salad dressing. I really enjoyed the salad for the freshness with crisp greens. The miso soup was presented in the usual black plastic miso soup containers with the lid. Upon opening, the miso was still perfectly suspended below the surface of the soup which was great! The soup tasted good and was what one would expect from a Japanese restaurant. Now came my Aburi sushi plate which had a good variety of sushi s and torched salmon on the one side. It was delicious! The tempura shrimp was presented nicely, and tasted good. My spouse thought maybe there was a bit too much tempura batter but I was fine with it. Gyoza was served hot nicely deep fried and had a nice beef filling inside. A choice of beef or vegetable filling is available for the gyoza s. My spouse ordered the salmon teriyaki lunch combo and she enjoyed the moistness of the salmon on a bed of cabbage with the teriyaki sauce. Thank you very much for a very wonderful lunch, we will be returning! Highly recommend this restaurant for a affordable lunch with high quality ingredients that s crafted with care.

The place is so clean, the food is super amazing and fresh. I love how generous they are with the portion sizes of all their dishes + the veggies in the soup! Staff is soo friendly and attentive. :) They persevered, got through COVID, and Metrolinx ripping through Eglinton. But It was heart breaking to witness the harassment and targeted hate towards the staff. Ive witnessed the harassment many times (dining in & ordering take out). Customers and Food Delivery drivers got so angry at the front staff when their orders were a bit late during rush lunch/dinner hours or not up to their standards. I dont know how/where the staff has the patience and resilience to put up with the unfair treatment. No one deserves this! Hope they survive and get through the tough times

Honestly I was disappointed. I had high expectations after reading all the reviews but the quality of food was average at the best. I ordered the small platter and an udon. The nigiris were fine (otherwise I would ve given 2 stars) except for the not so fresh shrimps, but the rolls were really mediocre. They were like food court rolls except for the fancier boxes. At a similar price point Kibo sushi is way better.

Always an incredible culinary experience. The fish is clearly fresh and varies if you opt for the chef choice. The presentation is elegant to the point that you almost feel bad when you remove a piece of sushi. Tempura and teriyaki are also top notch. I discovered it by chance and has climbed immediately to the top of my sushi places. Awesome.

Ordered a small sushi platter takeout. The presentation and packaging was very nice, and the taste was good. Price is pretty reasonable for good quality sushi. Only have a couple quibbles: one was that the maki rolls fell apart too easily when picked up - this might be due to how tightly they needed to be packed into the takeout container; the other minor quibble was the that selection of fish in the nigiri was a bit salmon-heavy, but everything did taste good and fresh. The kids loved the sweet potato maki and the California rolls. Very happy to have a high quality sushi restaurant in the neighbourhood, and looking forward to visiting again!

Great lunch sushi spot in the hood. Not worth driving across town for. But if youre local, its fresh and tasty.

Ordered on uber eats and was not impressed.. I m all for green take out containers but this requires more innovative on your part! All the sushi was stuck to the paper container and ripped and fell apart!

Ordered on Uber Eats. Everything arrived perfectly packed up. Big size portions, super delicious sushi! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Appreciated the openness to substitute to accommodate allergies. Loved the tea bags side note . Will order again!

We moved into the neighbourhood in August and are delighted to have such delicious sushi around the corner! The pressed roles and the fireball role are favorites!

The best sushi in Canada, and I ve tried it all. Every day when I m stressed out at work, I think It s ok, sometime soon you ll eat Sushi by K again! . Whenever I am running and get tired, I think of your sushi and run farther. The prices are great, the quality and care the staff put into each dish is Michelin-star level. I ve been to Michelin-star sushi spots, and Sushi by K is better. When Nobu comes to Toronto next year, they will run out of business because of Sushi by K. I know this sounds like a joke but their food is no joke. It s the most delicious sushi in Canada, and honestly, better than a lot of the sushi I had in Japan. Whatever you guys are doing, keep doing it! Recognition will come. I am emailing BlogTO, and other publications to advocate them to give you a full video review. I love every single person in your kitchen very deeply

I have ordered Sushi by K on three different occasions (through UberEats) over the span of the year since March 2020 and they have never disappointed me. Two birthdays and one mothers day later, I can count on them to bring out some good sushi. The portion sizes are good and the food is fresh. My go to is the medium Maki Roll platter but I had the medium sushi platter once and liked it as well.

Guys you have to order take out here! Its amazing I ordered on Uber eats and the food was perfectly packaged! The sashimi and rolls are immaculate! Def recommend! And will order again!

My coworkers and I must have ordered from Sushi by K at least 20 times since the pandemic has started. We have never been disappointed! Thank you for the free spring rolls and now the free Japanese teas! We truly appreciate it and look forward to ordering again sometime next week

Great sushi little bit over priced

Our first time ordering at Sushi by K and we immensely enjoyed it. Daughter declared it her favourite sushi. Food was fresh and it was all well executed. Nice touch to include a couple of sachets of green tea. Will now be a local favourite!

Ordered two pressed sushi and an udon noodle soup for take out/pick up. The pressed sushi (scallop and butterfish) were creative and delicious. The udon noodle soup chicken was actually grilled and had a nice char flavour. Also, the broth was not your typical udon noodle broth - it was a pleasant balance between savoury and sweet. I will definitely be ordering from here again.

Good option through Doordash. They have platters, combos and pressed sushi. Tastes good and is good value. The sushi dinner was a great mix with different types of fish and did not disappoint, I appreciate the non spicy option too.

Good food! Little pricey! But its on eglinton so you know how it is! Nice friendly staff! Order the black dragon roll, you will no be disappointed!

Got the maki platter 40 pieces. It had 4 different kinds of rolls, fresh, and delicious. My favorite were the sweet potato and dynamite! Will definitely order again!

SO GOOD! soft shell crab sushi is always going to be in our order, dynamite roll, spicy salmon and crispy crispy are the bomb! Thank you for creating quality food!

The quality of the sushi here are all legit. Weve ordered Oshi Platter, Sashimi Dinner, B.I.G. Pressed Sushi (spicy salmon), and Philadelphia Rolls - quality of everything was all premium - something you cant eat in an all you can eat. The portion was also big and everything is packed perfectly. Overall my experience is perfect 5 stars.
