I ordered a Black Forest cake for a quick bite and honestly it s the worst I had ever had. The sponge was very dry. It was mindless use of cream. I m very surprised how they managed to get a such good reviews. Service was okay though.

Had the house breakfast - Was 10/10. Partner had the shakshuka, we werent a fan of the shakshuka but they took it off the bill and service was overall excellent. Coffee also great. Would defo go back. Thanks!

No ham, no bread, no soup and the kitchen closes at 4pm. Not much of a bistro. Not the first time we have had a bad experience here. Not really good enough for its location.

Lovely breakfast.Had poached eggs on toast. This arrived hot, eggs cooked to perfection. Simple dish you say but this came with a lovely fresh salad, herbs on eggs on beautiful crisp hot toast. The Mediterranean smell was the first thing to hit me alongside the nice presentation. Staff really nice as well!

Once again we had a delicious meal here! We came back here twice more because of the delicious food and the super friendly service.

Delicious Croque Monsieur

Found it rude that they started stacking all the chairs around us even though the placed shut in 30 minutes, without any warning or notice. Canolis were overly sweet and not to our liking.

This is one of the best places to eat in morningside!! The atmosphere is great and the staff are all very friendly. They are always more than happy to accommodate you in any way. Can be a bit busy but the food is so good it is always worth the wait! Vegetarian options: Great veggie options that don t feel like an afterthought!

Tried the Spinach on toast and the Mango and passion fruit cheesecake. Food was incredible, the service was excellent and the staff could not do enough. The atmosphere was lovely as well, a lovely spot. 10/10, will be returning soon

I came in for lunch today and had a lovely time. The food service was amazing, with fast speed and organisation. The chicken salad was delicious and fresh. I enjoyed the welcoming and relaxing atmosphere with kind servers who helped make the experiment so enjoyable. I also finished the lunch off with a tiramisu sponge cake, which was absolutely delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at La Telve and would definitely go again!

As someone who suffers severe nut allergies I felt very reassured by how careful and attentive the staff were Food was delicious and freshly prepared Cakes were tasty and everything was reasonably priced I would definitely recommend Food was delicious and fresh and was one of the best cafes I have ever been to la telve was nicely decorated and had nice and comfy seats.

I can t fairly give it even one star. We were seated quickly, order taken and told the kitchen was a bit backed up. After 40min we chased only to be told no order had been entered. Waste of time. The food looked nice, if only we had been brought some!

Horrendous experience today. It was a busy day, and they tried to seat as many people as they possibly can. We were three people and were seated at a small table, thats just about suitable for two. Shortly after receiving our drinks, we were asked to move to another table. This seems to be the rule, rather than the exception as other groups of three had to share an unsuitable table or had to move tables as well. All in all, it made for a very stressful experience. In my opinion they would do better to turn some people away and actually give space and time to the guests that are there.

I went last week and had an amazing Mediterranean breakfast while my boyfriend had a veggie panini. The food was amazing and the freshly squeezed orange juice was very refreshing (usually a lot of places in Edinburgh will say they have fresh orange juice but it s not). Also had some of the cakes as a takeaway and it made my night. The staff is so friendly and helpful too, can t recommend enough!

I am a regular customer at LaTelve. The family-run cafe has a lovely atmosphere, the food is excellent (check out the cakes!) and the staff are so friendly. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it.

Had an amazing lunch at La Telve cafe today! The atmosphere is great and the staff are extremely friendly. As well as this the food and coffee was absolutely amazing and I would definitely recommend the croque madam.

We have been going to this cafe since it was only the one small shop with great coffee and scones. It has now grown into a very successful business with friendly and efficient staff and great food, pastries cakes and scones. We are regular visitors to a place that is generally our first place to go for coffee or breakfast. Vegetarian options: Good options if you need them. Parking: No parking in immediate area due to restrictions. Some side street parking at weekend Kid-friendliness: Very good with high chairs and booster seats available.

Been once before for breakfast and really enjoyed it. Took a friend along yesterday as a spontaneous suggestion as we were walking around the area. She liked it immediately when she saw fresh orange juice on the menu, within 10 mins of being there it started to fill up. The service was very friendly and food arrived pretty quick. Great place for breakfast, brunch or just coffee and cake .Ill keep bringing friends to share delights of La Telve.

Latelve is very much a hidden gem in Edinburgh! Food is gorgeous, a mix of classic brunch and lunch options mixed with Turkish twists. The Cilbir was delicious! Staff are very kind and welcoming. Çok sa ol hepinize!

I got recommended this cafe from a close freind and it did not disappoint. all the staff treated us amazing and the food was even better i had the mexican chiken wrap and a coffee it was great food. the shop had a great atmosphere i would recommended this to anyone that was needing a place to eat or get a coffee 10/10

Latelve Turkish Coffee Shop in Edinburgh is a great place for good service, a nice atmosphere and tasty food. Cemal and Sadet run the shop and they are very welcoming. The staff are also experienced and very friendly. The food is fresh and there is an extensive menu. I always enjoy going back to Latelve and I would recommend it to others. Hatice

This is one of our favourite stops for coffee and cake. Always a very warm welcome from the friendly staff. Excellent coffee and freshly made cakes. Weve also lunched and love the home made soup. There is a wide variety of very tasty main dishes. Great buzz about the place - always busy, not surprising.

This is my go-to Saturday spot and the best brunch place in Morningside, and possibly, in entire Edinburgh. Everything on the menu is delish, there are plenty of vegetarian options, and the selection of cakes is simply fantastic. You should try the Turkish breakfast, but keep in mind that it s plenty of food. Simit (a bagel with sesame seeds) is the best I ve ever had in my life. And coffee here is great, what else can you desire? On top of that, the staff is super friendly and welcoming. No wonder this place is always packed. Best come and see for yourself!

Cannot recommend this place enough. My wife and I visited for the second time this week - excellent menu and fairly priced. The staff also seemed very nice. Give this place a try - you wont be disappointed.

Me and my husband regularly have brunch in Latelve. The food is delicious and the staff are so friendly, they always recognise us when we come in and ask how we are. We always have the Mediterranean breakfast which is always fresh and delicious. I cant recommend this place enough, its definitely one of the best cafés in Edinburgh, especially for brunch!

First, the positives: very nice, friendly and helpful staff, a warm companionable atmosphere, and lots of space. Not so good: the quality of the food. I ordered a halloumi salad costing over £10. It came in a medium sized bowl which contained exactly 4 thin inch wide strips of halloumi, less than 1/4 of a standard supermarket halloumi the whole of which costs about £2.50. The dressing tasted nice but that was the best you could say of the salad. Most of the salad consisted of cheap tasteless iceberg lettuce and pieces of flavourless beef tomatoes. I ate and left as quickly as I could and won t go back!

Stopped in for coffee and cake after a wee walk in the park. Stunning home baked everything. Best Cannolis this side of the country! Chilled, yet professional service, homely and inviting. This has become a must-return-to spot. Top class

Very wide choice of pastries, cakes, and savouries. Pleasant staff and nice interior. Always busy with customers. Have been a few times and enjoyed each visit. Only criticism is regarding the single toilet, which had run out of toilet paper on my last visit, and the lock fell off. When the facilities are few and in constant use the staff need to be on top of keeping it clean, tidy and well stocked, and ensure all aspects are working properly. Otherwise very nice cafe!

Great stop off for coffee (v good!!). Came here a few weeks ago soaked thru as weather atrocious. They let us dry off jackets near radiator and gave us some complimentary Turkish Tea which was truly delicious - thank you guys for a lovely welcome!

A great local cafe/diner with a wide selection of coffees, pastries, cakes. breakfast options and baguettes. Went in here with my wife, son and dog at the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Good menu, lovely setting and great service from Archie our waiter. I had a morning roll ( bacon and egg ) and a cracking smoothie, freshly made. Decent price, something for everyone and ill definitely be back. Vegetarian options: My wife is mostly veggie and enjoyed the tattie scone and scrambled egg morning roll. Kid-friendliness: Lots of kds at the restaurant, well looked after by the staff

Gorgeous place, perfect for any time of the day for a meal or a snack! If you go in for a brunch, you should definitely give the Turkish breakfast a go! Many vegetarian options and some vegan, and a very long menu in which I am sure you will find your new favourite snack!

Went there for a quick breakfast before a long trip back down to England and the service was amazing. Owners are so so friendly and welcoming, and the food is delicious and guaranteed to fill you up. We stopped in for breakfast at 9am on a Saturday as the car was being serviced round the corner. It was fantastic! It was already filling up but the staff couldnt do enough for us and were so friendly. We didnt wait long at all for the food and it was delicious. We knew we were going to be wandering around for a while otherwise we would have stocked up on some of the delicious treats they sell to take home too - everything looked so good.

Delicious pistachio cake

Three stars, its beautifully decorated apart from the grotty toilet floor and the staff were friendly. It was busy when I was in and there was a wait to be served. The coke wasnt very cold and the person I was with got way more chips with their panini than I got with my wrap. The food was enjoyable the atmosphere was okay.

Ive visited this cafe twice since moving locally only a week ago and the food and service has been exceptional both times! We were served by Sera both times and she was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond. The food and coffee were fantastic. Cant wait to go back again!

This cafe has been around for a while and always position their amazing cakes in an inviting way. Step in and the menu offers so much more. The food is amazing and great quality, served generously. Fantastic friendly service and I am in no doubt the best cafe in Morningside.
