So disappointed. Literally used this as our go to Chinese takeaway for years. Straight up lied to us about an order going missing and didnt honour the delivery (After 2 hours and a phone call). Gutted as its generally excellent but now cant be trusted.

Soggy bin tasting and looking plain noodles. Fried rice is supposed to be old rice yet this is bin raked boiled rice. Bbq sauce is red and tasteless. Rank rotten Food

I wasnt quite sure if I wanted to order reading some of the reviews, but there were some very good ones and decided to give it a go. Perhaps I was lucky, but everything was flawless to me. Placed an order at 9:48, received confirmation my order will be delivered at 10:30. The delivery guy, very nice, was at my door at 10:30 though he phoned to check the address. The food was piping hot and delicious. Crispy shredded chicken with honey chilli and golden crispy king prawn with honey amazing. Egg fried rice and spring rolls delicious. Honestly, I cant say even one bad word. Delicious food and on time delivery absolute spot on. I even got the free prawn crackers. Will be definitely ordering again.

I dont believe the bad reviews. Spicy Korean pork was the bomb tonight! And the king prawn fried rice is a regular favourite of mine. Not always 5 star but never below 4.

Been using this takeaway for years and it s always been pretty good but recently it s been outstanding. So tasty and fresh with good portion sizes.

Horrible experience. I ordered CRISPY DUCK CHOW MEIN, payed extra £2. Well, turns out the crispy part is not the duck as is obvious and expected, but RAW NOODLES IN A BAG. They never gave me a refund and when i called they couldn t care less. This is actually crazy and never ever happened to me before anywhere else. Fair to say i ll never order from them again and i advice you do the same.

I saw a staff member purchasing most of the Chinese ready to eat food items from the nearby Marks and Spencer foodhall (almost emptying the Chinese food items in the aisle) and going to the shop. They are just basically reheating the food bought and charging you more under their restaurants name. My suggestion is to never be duped by these people or this restaurant. I hope none of you get food poisoning from such restaurants.

Food is disgusting. Got the meal deal the chicken curry is like boiled chicken the texture of it like its been boiled and frozen chicken absolutely tasteless sauce. Sweet and sour not much better.. full of onions and carrots. Pineapple fritters tasted funny overall absolutely disgusting . Will never order again.

The food is very hit-and-miss here. The sauces are excellent but the quality of the meat varies wildly. The chicken in lemon sauce is great but the chicken in the curry is very strange, mushy my son calls it and it is a strange texture. However, no matter what you think of the food, the service is terrible. They have no organisation whatsoever. When they are busy they are a joke. They often miss items and once entirely forgot our order. We ended up getting it two hours late! On our latest occasion we went to pick up our order because we dont trust their delivery. They had sent it out with their delivery driver! And then they asked us to pay the delivery charge! (Wed already paid online for our order, which clearly showed pickup.) We refused as it was their mistake. They called their driver and he returned to base with our order! Final straw, Im afraid. Have to look for a new Chinese takeaway once again. Order here at your peril!

A bit above your standard Chinese takeaway. Big amount of food at a good price. Quality is not the best but pretty decent for what it costs. I have ordered and collected a number of times and they were always punctual and food was quite warm - indicating it was cooked just before collection. Staff at the front were always friendly.

Food for U This carryout Chinese has improved considerably over last 3 months or so. Chicken meat was of a higher standard.

Pricey but worth it.

Never order from this place. We phoned after 1/2 hour to check status of order and told it would be another hour - with no apology. We cancelled and it s pretty much ruined our evening.

Below Average, ordered Salt & Pepper chicken with rice which was disappointing, heavily lacks accompaniments ie no peppers or onions added. Sauces and flavours were 7/10 No cutlery available and chopstix are 20p each. Spent just under £25 and no complimentary prawn crackers either. My last time

Gd food

I have been visiting this Chinese a lot I am slowly going through the menu ! , however beef Kung po ( never had it before ) outstanding! Salt and pepper chips to die for Chicken in chilli and honey gorgeous Can t recommend enough I am working 2 mins away so just walk and collect so most I have waited is 10 mins Superb !

Ordered food was rubbish no taste to it wasnt even the right Order rice was soggy the chicken doesnt even taste right watery I would say not worth the money

The fried tofu in soy sauce is delicious, the kung pao chicken tastes good but tastes more like sweet and sour chicken, and the black pepper beef is too salty

Fast, tasty food and always smiling staff. A nice mix of authentic Asian as well as some classic family favourites. I ve only ever called to order and have never had to wait more than 10mins to collect, so maybe pickup is the key. Really great prices for a fat night in.

Not good. Everything smells weird as does the shop

I ordered over £40 worth of food tonight and my first disappointment was the length of time it took to be delivered which was almost double the time we d been told. Secondly we didn t receive any complimentary products which as a long standing customer I know they usually do. Thirdly, I opened my chicken curry to find a sharp triangular piece of hard plastic. I phoned the company to let them know and asked for a new meal to be sent out. A second chicken curry arrived but without the fried rice which is ridiculous as the first fried rice was freezing cold by this point and I don t have access to any cooking facilities. Very upset by this point, I called the company back but was very shocked and angry when the manager hung up on me! I tried to call a few more times but was ignored. The way I have been treated is beyond disgusting and I will never be using this company again and I will also be telling family and friends to order elsewhere too! I will be getting in contact with trading standards also.

Ordered battered sweet and sour combination!! Mmm.. Youre thinking!! Got battered cauli, broccoli and mushroom instead of pork, chix and prawn, and when phoned, they didnt care less!!! Im a just eat customer, and they are robbers in their worst times

If I could give zero stars I would. We ordered knowing well that delivery would take a bit longer with whats going on at the moment. However, nothing arrived 2.5 hours after ordering, so called to be told it would be there in 15 minutes. Waited another half an hour, nothing arrived so called to be hung up on twice, then told our order didnt exist, then that we had received our order repeatedly and then finally being told (40 minutes later) that the delivery driver had delivered to another address and had been doing it all night. Still waiting for our refund!

Me and my partner ordered from here, spent £50 worth of food, phoned after an hour of ordering to be told it was out for delivery, an hour later still no food, so phoned back they again told us its just left the shop.. Another hour later still no food. 4 hours later we go our food cold. Been trying to get our money back or even £50 worth of food for free for 2 weeks now, feel mugged off.

Top Quality Food and fantastic service

Read the reviews before ordering and concluded most of the poor reviews were delivery and not food issues. Ordered by phone, ready in 25 mins for collection and meal for 7 was great - taste, portion sizes and cost.

Very delicius food!

Thought Id give it a try, but ended up wishing I hadnt. I dropped in to order, and chose spicy chicken and noodles. Got it home and emptied the container of food on to my plate. It was really difficult to identify what the meat was, it was grey and and didnt have the consistency of good chicken meat. I have never experienced such poor quality of food from any takeaway over the many years I have bought food to go. Theres no excuse for such a bad product at the price they charge. If they were in the far east they wouldnt survive 10 mins. I really hate to say this, but for the first time in 40 years, I just want to be sick!

Surprised by the negative reviews on here, but they all seem to refer to the delivery service. We ve always collected direct from the shop and the food is excellent and always ready quickly. There s an extensive menu with all the usual favourites. The quality of prawns and meat is great which is a big plus for us.

Its a lovely friendly place, with amazing staff. Most of all, the food is just wonderful, we order from there often now and its always perfect. I would recommend 100%

Best takeaway in the area!

Food arrived after two hours. When I complained this was unreasonable, was told I was being aggressive and food was taken away. 5 min walk away. Wont be using again.

Horrible food mice everywhere and wasnt to pleased to hear ALL there food is halal meat i ate this for a year and wasnt told.

Phoned to confirm an online Order since we never received an email confirmation and got told I d be phoned back to confirm. 15 minutes later I still hadn t received a call so I phoned them back and asked again about a confirmation on our order the lady on the phone said she d have a look but a customer must have entered the shop enquiring about their order so I got hung up on. Phoned them back 3 times 10 minutes later No answer. On the fourth call they finally answered for me to be told there was no order under our name and that I could place one over the phone instead. All in all Awful customer service will not even try ordering from here again after that hassle.

Like the food here. We sometimes get the meal deal, which is just a main course with rice for about £6. Very good value.

They messed up the order and gave us the wrong thing, when I called to let them know of the mix up I was told that I still got food, right?. I explained that if I wanted what they sent I would have ordered that in the first place and was suggested to order and pay for it again and I guess hope they get it right the second time!

Delivery took over an hour. The food that arrived was awful and tasted days old. Squid was dry and chicken in batter was soft and batter was so thick. Most of it went in the bin. Total waste of £40. Needless to say we won t be using them again.

Dont expect quick service if ordering online. The staff consider online to be the same as phone bookings and tend to forget who has come in and is waiting. Half an hour after the meal was booked for collection, and I had to chase up, before it was found to be waiting behind the counter is unacceptable.

The food is quite good, but it said on Just-eat they would deliver prawn crackers for over 15 pounds. We ordered 20 pounds worth of food and didnt get the prawn crackers. I called to let them know we hadnt received it (since one of the people here for dinner didnt feel well and just wanted prawn crackers) and they reluctantly said they would send somebody to come bring them. That person never came. Although the food is good, I dont appreciate being lied to. The prawn crackers make the meal!!

Iv been wandering the realm looking for a consistently good Chinese takeaway in Edinburgh. Like Indian, Thai and independent pizza chains, these are hard to come by. Ive now found Food For You and it hasnt disappointed, often exceeded expectations!

Bad food

Been local Chinese for years. Been through various owners and refits but the food has stayed the same. Salt and peppers squid is delicious. Best price to quality take-away. Lots of options and great taste for a take-away.

Quoted 1 Hour for Delivery, 2 hours later still no sign of order, phoned store to question and was advised order still hadnt left shop. At this point we cancelled order and asked for a refund. Refund took longer than expected to materialise (over 2 weeks) however the manager offered us credit aswell as refund which was an unexpected but welcome gesture.

Great Chinese takeaway, and the best I have come across in Edinburgh since moving here. Great value meal deals, with big portions. Always fresh and well cooked. Comfy couches in the waiting area (although quite often mostly filled up with delivery drivers). Go here semi-regularly.
