WELCOME TO THE CANNY MAN'S "the best pub in the world" RICK STEIN The Canny Man's pub in Morningside is an Edinburgh institution established in 1871 and passed down through generations of the Kerr family. We serve food everyday at lunch and dinner - focusing on the very best Scottish produce. An excellent and extensive wine and malt list.
Family visit for Sunday lunch. The food and service are excellent. Highly recommended for families and groups of friends.
We went for a few drinks on a Sunday evening. The bar was busy and had a nice hub-bub to it with lots of group chats. The service at the bar was quick and friendly. I could see plenty of people having a meal there as well, so it is clearly a popular local spot for food and drinks.
What a fabulous pub!!!! I loved the choice at the bar, the helpfulness of the staff, the quirkiness of the decor, and the feeling of being part of the fabric of history everywhere you went in the building. I will be sure to go back and have more than the one drink we had time for this time. Loved it.
We spent 3 days in The Lane Hotel and came for a drink each night at Canny Man's. Very nice, friendly atmosphere, professional and pleasant welcome. Large collection of whiskies. We particularly appreciated the small counter of the bar on the side and the professional of one of the waiters.
Love this place, amazing food and good service. Also the hotel is very nice
Sean, the bartender is simply the best. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. My friends and I enjoy having whiskey and food here. Will come back for sure!
Eclectic is the word! Very quirky pub with cozy seating and paraphernalia on every surface. Fantastic service with great staff. Great Sunday roast, nice selection of beers and a splendid risotto.
A beautifully eclectic establishment serving some lovely whiskeys. Prices are about right. Didn't order any food so can't comment there, wouldve been nice if the staff knew about whiskeys but wasn't a problem. The place looks fantastic, would love to see a vintage bandit/automaton in there but that's just my opinion (can source if you want one). Will definitely be visiting again when next in Scotland.
Really enjoyed our visit great finish to the night the barmaid even ordered a taxi back to the hotel.
Had a drink with Scout Friends
Never pass. Always visit
Good food in traditional pub surroundings. Would recommend.
Excellent food Great atmosphere Service good Pet friendly Cute private areas to eat Kid-friendliness: Not really, no high chairs Pet friendly Wheelchair accessibility: No
Great vibe at this lovely eccentric place in Morningside. Food is great and the staff cheerful. But why do you have to ask for the key to the loo?
Really excelling themselves these days and so glad that we still have places like the Canny Mans to call a home-from-home, as some very good businesses failed to make it through those difficult years, a few years ago. The food in its various guises offers something for everyone lunch and evening - personal favourites include the Portuguese fish stew, the steaks, the, the, the, etc. The teams behind the bar are excellently collaborative and supportive of each other and if someone doesnt know, someone else will. And the reintroduction of the Golden Drop the Canny Mans own whisky (blended to the original recipe?) is the final stroke of genius and surely a talking point for anyone requiring a gentle introduction to the demon drink. Just go and enjoy!
Absolutely extraordinary!
Its a really great restaurant with a unique atmosphere and great food served with vest beer and liquors. I really recommend the visit.
Quirky decor. Excellent beer and service.
A couple of friends and I decided to have a drink after a day visiting the city, as it was close to our Airbnb. We were pleasantly surprised by the quirky decoration, and asked a waitress what her recomendation was, since we are not too keen on spiritual drinks. She recommended a local beer we enjoyed quite a lot as we chatted. To our surprise, the waitress was Polish and turned out she had a Spanish boyfriend in the past, so she told us some swear words in Spanish which made the experience even better and funnier and we had a good laugh with her. Totally reccomended!
The best pub in Scotland! Great food (best Haggis Ive tried!), long list of malts, friendly staff, decorated with a sould. We had a lot of good laughs there and a fully stomach, what else could you wish for? :)
This was a recommendation from a friend of mine, as I do like whisky, and they have a very varied types. They also advise other types of whisky to try, then we had dinner, and it was very enjoyable, I will be coming back again for another visit
The ambiance there is so beautiful !! We felt like we were in another time period ! So nice ! The food was absolutely delicious ! The bourguignon and the whiskey sauce chicken was incredible ! Thank you ! Food
Was as good as it was 10yrs ago! Food excellent, service great and a wonderful evening catching up with pals.
This place was highly recommended To Us by a couple of locals. Although the interior had a lot of character our waiter was far from being attentive. Food was just okay. Great place to go for drinks with friends
Our AirBnb host suggested us this place and it was a great discover! The place and the atmosphere is authentic and very tipical. Far from the turist spots you could taste tipical scottish and Edinburghs meals. We were very pleased by the all the plates weve ordered and also the bill was balanced. I would suggest to reserve a table in advance in order to be sure to have a seat For sure well return in here when well return in Edinburgh
Extraordinary whiskey collection, around 320 bottles from £3 to £600 a glass!
Server was absolutely rude beyond belief. He refused to let us order on our time and instead forced us to order very quickly before we could really consider the menu. It was very evident he wanted to get rid of us and turn the table. I have met so many friendly people in the UK but this guy was very rude. It took forever to get drinks and when we asked him he told us to shut up and be patient. He paid zero attention to our table and I dont doubt there was discriminatory attitudes held by him. The only good thing about this place is the atmosphere. Stay away from this place at all costs.
I love this pub. Never changes. Hit and miss service and a brilliant atmosphere
Fabulous and genuine real pub
A really good Sunday Roast.
Great little bar!!
Great wine tasting night with dinner. Well informed friendly staff always with both great food and wine. Favorite local venue.
Nice bar in Morningside.
I want to love this place but I can t. The service is hit and miss, one day I gave up and left after about 10 minutes as nobody was around to serve, and it feels a bit cliquey if you know what I mean.
We had been looking forward to going to Canny Mans but were left extremely disappointed. The older bar man who greeted us at the door at first completely ignored us and then when we asked if they happened to have a table available he was very impolite and rude. I have heard people say that the people in Morningside can be snobby and unfriendly but I had never experienced that since moving here several years ago until I went to the Canny Mans. Very disappointing. We will never try to get a table here again and we will be telling others not to bother either. Clearly just an overpriced tourist trap that doesnt care about its reputation with the locals.
A great find!
Absolutely fantastic service. All else about this wonderful pub matched the service.
Only had drinks, but this would be a fun place with friends.
Good Whisky, beautiful pub. Recommended!
Loved this place! Its atmosphere is magic, it makes you feel you are traveling through time, with all the antiques on the walls and its 1800s furniture. The food was delicious and the staff was very kind. I definitely suggest visiting this pub/restaurant off the most touristic beaten track
Are the owners still absolutely mental? The oddest pub in Edinburgh. They seem to run a business model of actively discouraging custom
Very nice pub, excellent service. Very expensive on the downside though.
Fantastic
Very good
Always a classic Pub
An eclectic display for the eyes with so much history on every wall space imaginable. Must see if you are in town.
Musty establishment. With over priced beers. Not made to feel welcome at all.
Unhelpful, rude, arrogant manager, disgusting sandwich.
Overrated bar
A rustic pub, as you would imagine. Full of lots of nonsense and therefore a place to feel good. The selection of beers and whiskey is, as expected, good and the food really excellent for a pub.
I love the atmosphere here. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and accommodating.
Lovely old style pub with great outdoor space off the street
We were treated differently compared to other customers during our lunch there. Its also hard to get noticed by the server when we would like to order/have the bill. You could get better food with the same price in other pubs around easily.
Canny Mans isnt your ordinary tourist trap. This place is a true Scottish gem a pub and restaurant that feels like its been welcoming characters (and maybe a wee dram or two) for centuries. We rolled in for dinner and immediately soaked up the local atmosphere. Think friendly banter, cozy nooks, and fun art on all the walls. The food was hearty and delicious. But the real star of the show was the whisky selection. Were talking shelves overflowing with single malts, each one ready to tell a story. The bartender, a legend with a twinkle in his eye, helped us navigate the options and find the perfect dram. If youre looking for a place to experience authentic Scotland, Canny Mans is the place to be. Raise a glass with the friendly locals, savor some tasty grub, and soak up the atmosphere. Just be careful you might end up staying for a dram (or two) and a good old-fashioned Scottish chinwag (chat)!
What nice people. First experience with Scotland was great! Definitely come here for a drink again
Great food, great atmosphere
Fantastic place, just go and enjoy.
Very quirky place with plenty drinks on offer. Didnt have food.
Very quirky. Looks very wacky and the food is very nice. Open sandwiches in their lunch menu and such.
A treat to be back after 45 years. Great bar and very nice staff.
Good point of Best. If you read social media it has an unfriendly reputation but I felt welcome and atmosphere was pleasant. Would definitely go back.
Beautiful pub/restaurant with great food. Very helpful staff, and accommodating to a gluten allergy (swapped bread for sautéed potatoes). Would highly recommend! :) Dietary restrictions: Swapped bread for potatoes to accommodate gluten allergy
Amazing place, full of friendly people and staff, great food and drinks. They do Smørrebrøde A little taste of Danmark
Good honest food.
Great service and hosting, cosy eccentric interior, top food and drink. Rememberable Christmas Day dinner. Thank you.
Been a while, probably 20 years, since Ive been in the Canny Mann, great as ever, dog friendly so good for us today.
Very much an Edinburgh or Morningside institution. Have been coming here off and on for years; at least 30 of them. Try to visit every time Im in Edinburgh as I grew up here. Id agree with comments that say it can be a hit and miss but the decor is fabulous and my overall impression is very positive; yes the staff can be a little cold at times, but not overly so. Also took my dad here a few years ago and they could not have been more polite and courteous to a man in his 80s. Beer and whisky selection is good and beer well kept. Havent eaten here so cant comment.
Traditional and very rustic pub. Delicious food. Be sure to book a table in advance, it is always full.
Went for dinner for the first time, food was lovely and Id highly recommend the Haggis main course. The best bit about my visit was the staff especially the young boy behind the bar, Lewis who made me a fantastic cocktail and was a pleasure to talk to when he brought it over. We will definitely be back next time were in Edinburgh. Parking: Limited spaces
Calling this an Edinburgh institution is surely an understatement - a truly amazing bar crammed full of odd artefacts - just wish I had the time to stay longer.
Little disappointed on this visit to the Canny Man, barmaid serving drinks was friendly, didnt find the lady taking food orders very friendly or polite, having spent over 120.00 for a couple of hours mainly on our drinks, was a little disappointed with my dining experience on this occasion. The open medley sandwiches were not as nicely presented as normal, we were not left with basic things like salt or pepper on the table and although, I could have asked but could not see the waitress, appreciate she will have been busy placing the orders etc. I always take photos of the food drinks and todays food was not presented or tasted as good as previous, occasions. Still a lovely clean place with a well stocked range of drinks, didnt see the normal Management on site who keep a good house and always say hello when passing the tables, which I like as makes you feel welcome and adds a personal touch etc.
Tried to do Sunday lunch, but rude and unwelcoming staff left us standing and we walked out. Even if the food was great the staff mean I wont be trying the food anytime soon
Quirky and informal. It was crowded (New Years Day) and a bit chaotic, but the food was good in a welcoming ambience
Sat at the bar with an empty glass while the bartender stood with his back to me, texting.
Great food, exceptional wine list coupled with friendly and professional staff
We had a lively dinner for 12 in a private room of The Canny Man s last night and want to let them know how grateful we are for the excellent food, drink and service. A memorably happy time was had by us all.
Quintessentially Scottish. Great pub atmosphere
Amazing food and place! Slightly on the pricier side and outside of the main tourist area, but definitely worth the effort!
Excellent!
This place has always had an odd reputation. Its an interesting and has a crazy edge to it... old school but never friendly.not sure that the management have ever cared which is a shame.
Fantastic place not only steeped in history but pulls a good pint
Had a wonderful Burns supper here. Lovely place
The best, friendliest pub on the planet.
Classic pub. The best Bloody Mary in whole World.
Always great, service and choice of drinks. Love a window seat. Wife asked for a spicy margarita Batman said they have never been asked before but they gave it a go and it was excellent.
Is a Must Visit
Overpriced for very subpar food. I ordered the mussels which didnt taste fresh, the white wine sauce was watery and the wine hadnt been cooked off properly which made it taste boozy - £12. The baked potato side had the texture of being microwaved and tough - £6. My partner had a home cooked ham salad open sandwich which was very small for the cost and bland - £11. The lentil soup didnt appear to contain any lentils and was tasteless - £7. With the drinks the total was £40+ for a lunch we didnt enjoy which was disappointing for the reputation the pub holds. I would liken it to bad garden centre food. The 2 stars is for the interior which was eclectic and interesting.
Recommended by a friend. Pub is full of bric a brac, of which some may call junk! About a mile from the city. Food was good.
Best Guinness in Edinburgh for me !
What a great pub this is. Good to be back
It wasn t awful I had such high hopes of this place having read a lot of very positive reviews. Positives - friendly staff, interesting decor, reasonable prices. Negatives - on a par with a school Christmas dinner. School dinner roast beef, no crisp in the roasties, unappealing veg and not enough gravy (despite asking for extra). Too many tables crammed in. I d rather have paid a bit more, and had more space and better food.
OK, the pub of this intricate interior couldnt be zero or one star. It has great atmosphere. But I echo Kassie and many others view of this bar. Ruinously expensive. I paid 2.95 for the cheapest HALF pint and nearly 6 for a pint. Even in Edinburgh, where does this pricing come from? and I agree with Kassie and the rest, the staffs attitude is Terrible. You know the kind of place that is, NOT overtly rude, BUT rude. Difficult to pinpoint WHAT, but definitely hostile. When I came up and stood at the entrance, the waitress was standing there already and asked me what was it that I wanted. Was there a CCTV and I was being watched? I said I wanted a beer. OK then come on in then, i was told. When I was looking for a loo, a woman showed up out of no where and told me I was in a wrong place. Were there CCTVs and was i being watched everywhere? Kind of creepy. No staff smiles in this place. Now you might guess that they thought I was lowering the tone and wanted me to be gone sooner? That is likely, but the first time I came here was twenty odd years ago with a wealthy gentleman and his wife, a prosperous looking middle aged couple I met at the local Rotary Club and I remember THEY were complaining that the waitress was NIPPY, the exact word I still remember, No, no, we are not arguing I remember Mr Murray was saying to the waitress. Oh dear, she is nippy OK, that was long time ago. but this place has been constantly rude and exclusive and expensive.
Super friendly service. Very nice atmosphere. I love the history of the place. Great drinks and food. Try the haggis, it is awesome there!
As a tourist from South Africa I must say the interior was stunning all corners of the pub had something different and it created a moody but fun atmosphere. We only had drinks but they were lovely and the staff was very accommodating as we walked in without a reservation and they made a plan to get us seated and grabbed us a quick drink. I think was interesting and really lovely. I would recommend it to anyone who will listen.
They cheat when paying I had to pay twice and they accused me of not paying
Went for drinks lady is so rude , think she should go on a course on how to deal with public
Sensational, traditional pub/bar! Friendly and knowledgeable (whiskey) service. Highly recommended
Greatest pub in Edinburgh. Very reasonable, especially malts of the week. Great selection of whiskies and spirits, wine too. Food is really well done as well, helpful and friendly staff to boot.
Order the cheeks! They re delicious.
Great wee place with old style values. You must visit if you love whisky they have 100s of bottles and staff are so friendly
Lovely food and great staff
Trendy pub to discover absolutely!
beautiful spot with an awesome beer garden!
People who give this place 5 starts should really reconsider their standards. The food is incredibly overpriced. Ive had the most expensive open sandwich of my life, which consisted of a single slice of bread covered with average quality ingredients. Almost impossible to eat, and bland. The waitress added random stuff to our receipt, and when we told her she didnt even apologise. Cherry on top the toilet, which was the most disgusting I had ever seen in my life. Mind it was 12:30pm so they had only been open for half an hour.
The soup was not very hot and had a hair in it. The Sunday roast was delicious. Had a surcharge at the end. If someone wants to leave a tip they can but it shouldnt be added on to the bill. Food
The meals were amazing. There were 15 of us eating so a logistical nightmare for the kitchen that was well excluded, I had the melt in your mouth fish (coley) and will be going back to try the rest of the menu Food
A very nice atmospheric place.
Drinks order wasn t correct twice. Staff was not particularly welcoming. Food was good. Very very dusty memorabilia directly over the tables. Meh. Not as good as I was expecting.
Drink more whisky!!
Quirky pub with lovely staff. Had delicious oysters. The trademark Danish open sandwich have a great range of options.
The atmosphere and staff make this bar! It s such a gorgeous wee bar and you re never short with things to look at. The Staff are also friendly and attentive. Sadly I have to say the food let it down somewhat. Ordered the steak and it was stone cold when it arrived at the table. The wedges were also a little soggier than I d have liked but my friends enjoyed them so maybe that s just personal preference.
Matthew was such a wonderful host to us this evening in the canny mans! We felt so welcome and had a brilliant night Xx
Very cozy and friendly bar..
A bit like fawlty towers, the boss dont like his staff so the staff dont like the customers hey,ho.
THE MYSTERY OF THE CANNY MAN (R Burns) In Morning Side, where time hae ran, There lies a pub, the Canny Man Its doors wide open, beckoning all, To share in tales and call. Its doors creak open, as if to say, Come, wander in, and lose the day, midst the dust, o memories past, an antiquities, forever last. Inside its walls, a warm embrace, Where weary souls, regain their grace but secret spells surround this halt this sanctuary of the ancient malt. Sae why the name, the Canny Man? Tis sublime of mind, a true Scots-man, A mixt of ken, wi intellect, An caution commands respect While each glass of whiskey or ale divine lifes woes disolve, an plans refine knowledge expands, rhetorics grace erudition grows at a pace But hark! tis secret, whispered low, Upon passin its door, time starts tae slow, Inside the pub, time creeps a slower pace, As whisky s sipped, it slips embrace. Yes within this haven, a secret did abide, For time, it slowed when they stepped inside, With every whisky poured and downed, The clocks did stop and e en rewound! With time in reverese, an after comes afore Friends become younger and wittier than before Ever more wit and laughter fills the air Hilarious banter, a joy to share we are all Canny men so they cheer we re all Canny men and order more beer and they do dice with the devil wi time forgot, do merry revel Some souls, they say, never left this keep, Forever trapped, suspended sleep, Like starlight snared in a black holes plight frozen in time, eternal night As night deepens and movement turns slow langrous ballet in moons gentle glow orders are taken dispensed by staff times paradox, a riddle to laugh Sad drinlers forever bound to seat engulfed in a instant, their hearts replete, molasses-like air, trapping their delight, a timeless joy, an eternal flight. Yet, should a drinker slip past its door, Before the last call, when spirits do soar, Theyd wake at home with time reset But memory of night all forget So Drinker beware! and run sublime afore you hear, the staff shout Time! Drink in wisdom, but heed the call, Escape the Canny, ere shadows fall. Oh, Canny Man, beloved retreat, Where troubles fade and sorrows fleet, With every toast, we raise a cheer, For this cherished pub we hold so dear. So, let us gather, one and all, Within the walls this drinkers hall, And raise our voices, join our clan, To sing the praises of the Canny Man.
A rare place to visit.
Open sandwiches are wonderful. Excellent beer and quite simply the most amazing interior.
My favourite local pub!
Superb. Vegetarian options: Sun dried Tomato Rissoto with peas leaves and a melted cheese slate was outstanding. Food : 5/5 |
Usually a lovely pub to go to however recently went with my boyfriend and he was treated horribly. He made a kind gesture of bringing in a champagne bottle from the garden not realising this was an intentional ashtray . He was refused service after his kind action and got called drunk after having 1 pint at a bar previously. When we asked him his reason for barring us he couldn t tell us. Horrible manager but as I say, usually a lovely bar. Very disappointed.
What a incredible place, there are literally hundreds of very interesting artifacts covering every inch of every room and I being a lover of this sort of thing was very happy to be there. We popped in for a drink and next time we will try the food .
Fabulous eclectic decor, delicious classic pub comfort food & wonderful staff. Our group loved there lunch & this place is one of a kind you definitely want to put on your list!
I have been here a few times for drinks etc but I think today was the first time I fully appreciated it! The decor of the Canny Mans is rustic, interesting and thought provoking. There is many a beverage to choose from, especially for those looking to have a dram or two. Their menu has a good range to choose from too and their food is delicious. I recommend this pub very highly after my experience today
Canny Man a lot quite than I expected but that was not unwelcome Food was OK but although asking for coffee at the end of my meal the serving staff seemed to disappear Food
Excellent people, very caring please visit
Very nicely presented traditional Scottish pub on busy road, serving food and with an excellent selection of malt whisky. Pleasant beer garden to rear. Spoilt on this occasion by sour faced unfriendly woman behind bar. Will try again and hopefully service will be better as feel could be worth another visit despite her
A true treasure. Wonderful food, atmosphere and the team could not be kinder. The setting is simply unique and amazing. Rick Stein was absolutely correct when he named it the best pub in the world. I always look forward to visiting every time I visit Edinburgh. The wine list is exceptional and very well priced. Highly recommended, especially the Sunday roast!
Classic bar with lots to look at and a large variety of scotch whiskeys. Alex and crew are a great barkeepers
Was recommended by someone who had visited a long time ago... presumeably when Rick Stein visited. Dont be fooled. The food is diabolical. Open sandwich? Cold and bland, horribly cheap ingredients. Mussels were no way near fresh and were cold. My partner had to take a shot after leaving as we were worried he would have food poisoning from them! The people were standoffish and only gave you the slightest courtesy when really smothered with politeness. Sorry, but thats YOUR job! Really disappointed after going out of our way and paying for parking to visit. The decor was good hence any stars... but just dont bother!
Ella, one of the staff members, was amazing. 5 stars for her positive attitude, politeness and customer service.
Really old cool bar, huge selection of whiskeys. Great staff, food was really good. Its a very busy bar so if you want to eat there on the weekend you might need to book a table.
Lovely loooong lunch sitting outside in the courtyard.
A great find amongst Morningsides tumultuous throngs of Gastro Pubs and modern coffee houses. Nothing wrong with the aforementioned however to then stumbles across the antiquity that is the Canny Man is refreshing. Great atmosphere and crazy decor. Wonderful wonderful service and a fantastic selection of open sandwiches. Great work team Canny Man a pleasure to dine with you..
Wouldnt bother coming here. The attitude of the staff here stinks for no apparent reason. The atmosphere isnt cosy and casual like other pubs. Just avoid the open sandwiches. They are dreadful for what you pay for.
Traditional pub with really quirky décor from 1871 and excellent food. The haggis neeps and tatties have got to be enjoyed, as well as lots of fish on menu. Will definitely be returning on our next trip to Edinburgh
Loved this place and would have eaten here if the website would have been a bit clearer. Overall, a tiny bar makes getting your drink frustrating but once youre sat down, everything is excellent. A lot of choices for your drinks. On the 2nd time we came we got a dessert brought out and a cocktail not on the menu made for us. All with a smile. Go there!
The food was great here, more importantly the environment was cozy and the service friendly. If your nearby I would make certain to make this an evening stop for supper. Food
One of the best pubs in Edinburgh. Food, service and ambience are great.
Been going here for 35 years. Consistently delightful.
The food and place is really nice, but the service was truly amazing 11/10. Especially a young lady called Ania made us feel welcome and took care for us in every aspect possible in hospitality. I would recommend for everyone to come in here to dine or drink.
Great place for a few beers, very quirky place!
Good selection of gins
This bar is an institution!! Absolutely worth a visit. They do the best Bloody Mary s in Edinburgh.
Lovely evening
Cracking pub Good beer decent price Friendly bar staff Amazing brick a brac around the pub Would defiantly recommend
Great quirky pub thats one of the oldest in Edinburgh. An array of drink options to suit all tastes. Staff all great and special mention to the young guy Lewis behind the bar who was a smashing lad.
As always........ bloody great
ok, technically its a pub but in reality this is a fantastic antiquarium where you can have a pint or two! beautiful and cosy, the pub has several rooms decorated with all kinds of old stuff you can possibly imagine. if you dont like hoarders, this place might annoy you, but give it a try. Its super cool!
One of the most unique pubs in Edinburgh hands down. Incredible atmosphere!
Traditional pub with good selection of whiskey and beer. Pleasant staff. Not too loud so able to chat.
A place with a fantastic atmosphere!
Absoluetly superb Sunday lunch and very cosy friendly atmosphere
Always made welcome
Love this place
Professionally Scottish with a laid back atmosphere
Very welcoming staff, good menu, lots of smorgasbord and hot al a carte menu
Nice and busy but bar staff are not the best. Could do with more training!
Tradition that always brings a smile.Canny mans is atmospheric lovingly quirky and always a joy. Not been in a few years but it was just awesome as a venue to meet up with friends and share some more happy times. Beer, wine, whisky and food all excellent. If you are visiting Edinburgh its a must!
Bizarre place for a drink, I have never seen so much stuff hanging on walls/roof. Had a Broughton beer which is rare, kudos for having that on tap.
Ive given it 3 stars as some people will not like this pub. One of the strangest bars Ive been to, but very interesting. The only place Ive been that serves you a gin and tonic with a glance cherry in a crystal glass!
Brilliant. As always. Great atmosphere and brilliant staff. So efficient, professional and very very friendly. Enjoyed my evening there. Will be back!!
God tier Great service and cracking food, lovely drinks selection. A must try
Older bar-man is rude, pointed and has no manners. Place has charm but is dusty and could do with a refurb. I didnt try the food but I can think of many better places to go.
Great bar with tremendous atmosphere
The Canny Mans is Edinburghs most characterful pub and restaurant. Its a brilliant place to have a drink, and it is even better to done there. The food is exceptional and the staff are great. Love it.
