So delicious, loved the sisig and adobo!

The food was a bit different than my memory of the U of A filistix. Still good though! Edit. If they still have the Chori burger on the menu, get it! Its delicious. Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible.

I had some food from the food truck tonight. It was so good, I was going back for seconds while my girlfriend finished off the first order. Fantastic food from Chef Sean, and great service from Marc. Would recommend making a point to visit them when you see the truck.

They were at our condo complex tonight i got the Choro burger and shrimp and pork dumplings. Just have to say wow was so flavourful and just the right amount of spice. I honestly feel like going and getting more Nice and friendly will definitely be back

I have only tried South Pacific coconut menu item! It was so delicious, I highly recommend it. It was spicy, creamy, rice and chicken were cooked to perfection!

Have been coming here since they opened and I feel the quality and flavour has gotten worse slowly over time. It s not the place I used to love coming too.

This is a go-to spot in my neighbourhood! Filistix is delicious, flavourful comfort food served by the nicest staff. Their brunch, lunch, and dinner are all excellent. My fave is the South Pacific coconut chicken rice bowl they serve for lunch!

Very disappointed........1 hour and had appetizer only. Wonder if theyre still feeding the pigs when we ordered the pork belly. Sadly its not worth the wait and more like decades-old rubber. Half of the ice cream melted when it arrived. Btw we went there really early not even busy hour. Obviously disorganized and not even prepared for business. Overpriced for the quality and quantity.

We chose Filistix as the venue for my Mom s surprise 65th Birthday and we were thrilled with our experience. The food was TERRIFIC! They paid homage to classic Filipino cuisine with a South Asian twist. On top of that, they were incredibly accommodating, friendly, and gave amazing service. We know how hard it can be to get Titos and Titas outside of their traditional expectations when it comes to Filipino food, but our whole group of 28 LOVED the food and left satisfied and impressed with their whole dining experience. The service was incredible. They truly made you feel like you were an old friend. The portions were small but what you would expect for a restaurant like this. Very flavorful and unique dishes!

Overpriced and overrated!! Extremely disappointed as we thought this is 4.6pt and expected it won t be that bad as a Filipino fusion/ modern. But after 1 hour and HALF! We only had appetizer of 3 dumplings only, we know we could not wait for the rest anymore! Absolutely not worthy the wait. The server and the chefs are indeed disorganized and not even prepared for business.

Our experience was nothing special. The food was mediocre. There s so many Filipino restaurants to try and Filistix was on the list. I wouldn t go out of my way to visit again.

Food was tasty, just a bit salty. A lot of it was honestly inspired by other cultures (eg. The carbonara is definitely an Italian inspired dish).

Came here for Filipino breakfast with the family. I am filipino and I would like to start off by saying YOU NEED TO TRY THIS PLACE! This place is 100% more upscale and modernized than your tita s kitchen. Everything justified the $20 per plate price. Location, interiors, atmosphere, plus great food, and big portions which is more than reasonable for that price. The meats were tender and everything was seasoned to perfection. Nothing too sweet or salty. Highly recommended and definitely would go again!

The food, service and atmosphere were all lovely but the price per dish is very unreasonable. Portion sizes when compared to price are definitely not balanced very well at all. I went in very hungry, spent $45.00 (an order of 2 lumpia and an order of Char Kway Teyo + a tip) and unfortunately left still very hungry. Would definitely recommend if the prices were more reasonable!

I usually come here for brunch - nice selection of breakfast items and good sized portions that have been quite tasty. Service is quick and friendly. Their lunch menu is also just as wonderful and they have a lunch deal. Followed them since they opened at the university and have been consistently wonderful. Parking sucks just because its downtown. Would love to try their dinner and buffet service.

What can I say that hasn t already been said about Filistix? Firstly, at the beginning of the pandemic, this was a STAPLE for our household, and considering they were often the only people we say, thank you for keeping us sane. The food here??? Out of this world. Because of y all, Adobo is now a staple food, the fried rice we also dreammmm about. Not only are the staff all phenomenal but the owners are beyond lovely and a perfect example of why we love Edmonton-owned restaurants. Thank you so much for introducing us to Filipino cuisine, everytime we come in, we feel so welcomed and really miss living so close to y all. If youre looking for an incredible dining experience in downtown, look no further than Filistix. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed with the atmosphere and friendly service. Our server, Marc, was an absolute gem - he went above and beyond to make sure our experience was memorable and enjoyable. Extremely helpful and loaded with the kind of charisma that you wish you could bottle and sell to crabby people. But of course, the real star of the show was the food. We had the pleasure of trying several dishes from the brunch menu, including the Tosilog with cured pork loin and the Tapsilog with marinated beef sirloin. Both were absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor. The Ube and Mango Crepes and Halo Halo were also amazing - every bite was a treat. Overall, we were blown away by the quality of the food, the attentive service, and the inviting atmosphere at Filistix. Nice restaurant/eatery in downtown edmonton. Food is beautifully presented but still has that comforting home made taste. Traditional Filipino dishes with some modern flair and inspiration from across other parts of asia.

Food is always good! The chili oil is the best I ever had!! Hands down!

I really like the ambiance of this place, and the staff seem very nice. I like their one (and only) vegetarian option, which is a sweet potato lentil dish. However, given the huge selection, I really think they could add one more veggie dish! Several years ago I had a delicious tofu dish at their UofA location, and I just dont get why that cant be in the mix.

I ordered the Longganisa Egg Benedict and my friend got the chicsilog (chicken wings with egg and garlic rice). I didnt like it that much because it was too oily especially the biscuit, which I think they were cooked where the oil from the longganisa was absorbed by the biscuit. To be fair, the chicken wings flavor was great.

My favourite place to eat in Edmonton. A reliable healthy comfort food during my university years, I was ecstatic when they open a downtown location. Incredibly kind staff and owners. Afforable with great portions. My ultimate comfort food on a bad day is their chicken adobo with their incredible and unique slaw (do not compare to a coleslaw!). -A happy customer of 7+ years

What fantastic food but what incredible staff/management! They were so accommodating of our 2 boys on mothers day. Excellent spot for families and their buffet today was fantastic. Theres no place to brunch but here, beats all the other basic brunch options and spots!

I love Filistix, they are a small restaurant, so I recommend booking ahead for any special events for example Mothers Day. The brunch and dinner menu is amazing nothing to complain about, Fili tea or the Calamansi soda is top drinks Food

Booked a ticket for their Mothers Day brunch and we were not disappointed! Brunch was great with garlic fried rice, longanisa, bangus, tosino, corned beef, Lechon, beef tapas, etc. The mango fili tea was delicious too! Service was top notch as everyone was super nice, accommodating, and were always around to refill our drinks. This was actually our first experience at filistix and well definitely be back for the normal menu. Thanks for a great Mothers Day! Parking: There is tons of parking close by down 106th st and 107st street. Expect to pay if you are around during peak times but we only paid about a $1 per hour.

As a Filipina, Im usually very picky about going to Filipino restaurants. In previous experiences, other places try too hard to fuse western comforts and Filipino cuisine, but lose the traditional tastes. However, Filistix has done a fantastic job staying true to Filipino flavours, which showcases how awesome Filipino culture is. I would recommend ordering the pork adobo and leche flan for dessert.... So good! Service was excellent! Our host was friendly, funny, on top of our orders. The atmosphere was great- clean, nice decor, good music.

Came for an early afternoon brunch. The server was busy but service was good. The Tapsilog was good like the Korean bulgogi but the salad was a really good combination of sweet and sour that adds a lot of refreshing coolness and lightens up the dish. The Palabok vermicelli was slightly different from what we ve ever had (translucent glass noddle but a bit on the dry crunchy chewy side) and neither of us liked it very much. Good overall not the best we ve had from Filistix.

I have experienced Filistix multiple times in multiple ways -- at their restaurant and through different menus/venues with their food truck. I once watched a documentary on Filipino food in NYC and they said it best when they said that Filipino food is about nostalgia and competes with your familys way of doing things. I think Filistix does a good job of staying true to the idea of a dish, elevating it and just making things damn tasty. I am thankful that I get my fix for when I want a Filipino breakfast, when I miss the street food I grew up with and when our food is celebrated in a new iteration. More power to you guys -- yall make my heart and tummy happy.

This review is for their new Food truck, but their restaurant is always a great place for fresh food and great atmosphere. Their truck has a unique and changing menu which has always been consistently flavourful. Service with a smile and a few jokes (especially if you catch Marc taking orders). The owners and the team are extremely hard workers who put all the love into their food, their team and their business. Recommend the restaurant and their trucks for your catering needs.

Dont know how Ive never left these folks a review before. Our kids, our family, our staff always rave about the food here. FRESH and tasty every time. Our favourite is when they serve their Chori burgers, but when dining here, the lechon and the kare kare are always our go to. Try their calamansi drinks (both the alcohol and non-alcohol versions) because theyre super yummy! Beautifully built location downtown and a good stop for weekend brunch or dinner.

I have been to many Filipino restaurants, and for the first time, I was served scallops as street food. It was a chefs choice and we didnt have any other choice, but I dont think scallops is a true Filipino street food. And, for (almost) $20 for 2 small pieces, it is not worth paying for it.

My husband and I attended the re-launching of their dinner service this past weekend, and it was a great experience! The food was delicious, with us especially loving the fried okra nuggets and the lechon sisig entree. The free mimosas were a nice touch as well, although there was also an excellent selection of other drinks. The service was attentive, and our food arrived in a timely manner. It was great to see that place buzzing again.

Ive been going to filistix since i was in uni. the food has always been good and the staff has always been friendly! Thats why i was excited when they opened the downtown location. I love that the new recipes are more innovative and elevated compared to the rest of the filipino restaurants in the city. I highly recommend this and i have brought many friends to this location and theyve never disappointed us

Nice little restaurant. Great Filipino brunch. All dishes ordered are great, small issue with eggs benedict as bread used had a too much baking powder taste. Overall would go again, but not everything was great.

I went there with 3 of my girlfriends. The ambiance is perfect! The decor, music and lighting is so tasteful and calming. They have the best spring rolls I ve ever had!! I tasted a bit of everyone s food and it was all perfect! Buttttt the best part of the night was the DESSERT!! The leche flan was the best thing I have ever tasted in my life!!! The waiter was very nice and most importantly not annoying. He was always there when we needed him but didn t interrupt us or continuously ask us if we were enjoying our food lol. First visit I went for lunch and ordered pork adobo and leche flan. Pork Adobo: The smell was very promising. I could smell the aroma from the counter as the server was assembling my lunch. My first impression portion was great. There was plenty of pork and rice. The pork was tender. Place for improvement would be the texture of the rice. Since they are serving the adobo over rice, the rice needs to be dryer. Because when the broth is poured on the rice it makes the rice mushy and the flavour of the broth (sabow) becomes diluted. Adobo is typically is a very bold vinegar-soy sauce-garlic flavour and it all got lost. Suggestion, make rice with less water or serve rice and pork adobo is separate containers. Leche Flan: Delicious. Presentation is beautiful. The pinipig twill and possibly ube twill was a nice added touch. Customer service: The servers could be more personable. The service was quick and I was able to make it back to my office with time to spare. Hours of operation: May I suggest if youre not going to be open during lunch on your normal business hours to maybe have a voicemail that indicate youre close. I went on one of the days it was closed. I guess you only update Instragram if youre not going to be open. I will try again. I wont write off the restaurant just yet. I might change my rating in the future.

Ive been such a huge fan of Filistix since their CAB days many moons ago - Im so happy to see that theyve expanded successfully to a brick and mortar place as well. Everything Ive had from here has always been top notch and utterly delicious. This time, we ordered the lechon kawali sisig, chicken lumpia, and garlic rice, and they were all incredible. Well definitely be continuing to visit.

I work near the Downtown restaurant, and have been a regular custody since they opened this location. The menu evolves, but the food and the service is ALWAYS top notch! I would currently recommend the lunchtime Mung Bean Soup... legumes are not always my favourite, but this soup just tastes so good!

This probably has to be one of the best restaurants in this area, if not the entirety of Canada (not exaggerating) Unbelievable tastes and flavours, lots of unique options and great portion sizes at a great price. Happy to have discovered this place during my one night stay in Edmonton, this was the highlight.

Awesome food, great service!

Super good food! Filipino food is one of my favourite cuisines and this place really nailed it. I had the adobo bowl and my wife had the coconut chicken bowl. The presentation was lovely (which I really appreciate because I always found it hard to make Filipino food presentable when I make it). The meat was really well-balanced with the slaw and pickled veggies and it was all very delicious. The local ice cream (from Yelod on Whyte Ave I think) was very yummy too! I was most surprised at how quickly the food came out. It reminded me of getting food at a street vendor or a local place back home. Overall, a very good experience. If youve never tried Filipino food, this is a very good place to start.

Absolutely fantastic!!! You must eat here. My partner and I have travelled to several places in the world and this place sits in our top 3 all time favourite meals!! The cocktail list, wine list and beer list all are excellent and complement the food well. Beautiful decor and above and beyond wait staff! Stop reading this and go eat here.

The last time wed been in was a number of years ago, for a to-go lunch. We recently went on a Friday evening, and I must say, Filistix has evolved and become a hidden gem of fine dining in downtown Edmonton. Do not let the very unassuming exterior and location fool you - inside you will find a fantastic set of staff, who want to share their love of food with you, and a menu that, while limited, is full of fresh trendy flavors in an interesting fusion of traditional Filipino flavors and dishes with modern fine dining. We cannot recommend them enough! Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful evening and delicious meal.

Filipino food has always been a little intimidating to me. However Filistix made me fall in love with it. The food and flavours are basically art, and cocktails are so pleasant. Service is so warm, welcoming, and attentive. Highly recommend for date night or even with family !

Must try their Leche Flan (dessert)

We stopped in for lunch on our way back to Calgary and enjoyed a great meal. I had the spamsilog and really enjoyed it. The spam was tasty and the overall combo of garlic rice and salsa was satisfying. All of the bowls sound really good so we definitely plan to come by again the next time that we are in Edmonton.

This is the first time I have had a meal that was not amazing at the UA location. I ordered the Lentil Curry with Sweet Potato, one of my favorites on their menu, but today it seemed bland and flavourless. This will not stop me from returning, but todays meal was inconsistent with the high quality and exceptional meals I have come to expect from this location.

Its hidden little place that is likely often missed, which is too bad. Ive been a couple times and the food and service has been great both times. Certainly worth checking out!

I had the Vegan lentil curry at Folk Fest and I can not stop thinking about it! The whole dish was AMAZING! I didn t even know they were a restaurant so close to me. I can t wait to order from them. 10/10

By far, the best Filipino Restaurant in Edmonton. They have the best service and the food was the best elevated Filipino dish I have ever tasted. If you want to go for a date or wanted to bring someone special and try the Filipino cuisine, in an exquisite level, this is the best place to go. Highly recommended. We just found this place by accident but ,it was the best accident experience. Kudos to the staff and chef. We will definitely come back and try the rest of the menu in the list.

Consistently wonderful food. Owners and staff are lovely to interact with. Dine in area is understated and welcoming, music is always really good and the right volume so it adds to the ambience but doesn t interfere with conversation. Today I learned they do private functions such as rehearsal dinners and will do custom menus for events. I can see it would be a perfect space for it. I can t say enough good things about this place. Ps: the slaw is addictive :)

So, so good! Every time I stay at the Matrix, I make sure to go for dinner at Filistix. A beautiful room, super friendly staff and fantastic meals. Check, check, check! Can t wait to go back! We couldn t decide between the beef and the mussels so we shared with a side of rice. Perfect!

Respect the hustle. New elevated menu items are great for dinner and the lunch crowd is coming back which makes for a lively experience for ordering and perusing the menu and either dining in or take out. Folks here bringing their twist to Filipino cooking.

Thank you Filistix for such a great night!! We booked a tasting menu and got to try 7 dishes. Each was more outstanding than the last! The grilled romaine, mussels and twice cooked pork belly were highlights and the yuzu cocktails and mango ube crepes capped the night off perfectly.

Great service!!!! Pork lumpia Fusion springroll with rice paper. Nicely balanced in flavour. Achara veggies add nice texture and flavour to the appetizer. Chili a little salty. Flavour balanced when used sparingly. Chori burger Sweet witha light heat to it. Milk bun and sliced carrots add to the sweetness of the burger. Not what you would expect when eating a burger. But pleasant in taste. Nice for an appetizer. If it was any bigger, would have been too much sweetness in a burger. South pacific coconut mussels Flavourful. Mussels fresh. The coconut curry broth was adapted nicely to balance the delicate flavour of the seafood. Found the broth to be a little on the salty side. Could not drink the broth at the end. Grilled lettuce This is perhaps the most confusing dish Ive had in a long time. The individual ingredients alone taste quite good. The ham has a lovely smokey flavour to it. The ikura are well seasoned and plump. However the dressing and pickled tomatoes directly mm a with the dish. And the lettice was overcooked and drenched in oil. Slimy. Grilled pork belly liempo w. Garlic fried rice Pork belly has a lovely crisp to each bite and goes quite nicely with the fried rice. There is a surprising citrus flavour to it which brings the dish to life. Fat has been rendered into the food leaving flavour in the porc belly without it being too dry. Soy mayo dressing also helps pull the dish together with the poached egg. Charred Asian greens Veggies were charred which gave them a bit of a burnt flavour. The stems were cooked well in balance with the leaves. The calamansi dressing at the bottom went quite well with the black bean. Not too salty. Kare Kare steak Tender with an even sear round the outside of the protein. Peanut butter dressing light and compliments the meat without cutting through too much. The Ube mashed potatoes are highlighted by the light peanut cream. Prawns Traditional Philippine sauce flavour :) Prawns cooked and balanced. Although the prawns are big, they have the light and bouncy texture of small sweet shrimp. The sauce is well balanced and can be eaten with the prawns. Pancit Light citrus flavour with spice and kick. A little on the salty side. Flavours would come out so much better with a bit less salt. Theres a nice undertone of spice and flavour under the heavy salt. Ube mango crepes Crepe was a little more starchy than a French Crepe. Flavours were good. Ube mousse and mango ice cream definitely a highlight. Liked the contrast between the temperatures of the ice cream and the mousse. Ube chips added a nice garnish onto of the dish.

Filistix is always a great time. Food is AMAZING and the people running it are so funny and always accomodating. Highly recommend the grilled liempo on their dinner menu and the calamnsi drink! Tbh, if you pick anything on their menu, it s bound to be good!

Our first time trying Philippines cusine and we loved it. Have been following them on instagram and wanting to give it a try and glad that we did. It was brunch on Saturday and we love it very much. Even my grandma asked to try their Lomganisa egg Benedict and she loved it. I really like my Tosilog. Love the balance of taste. We really appreciated their thoughtful service as they split the Burger for the kids in half even before we asked. My son loved the Halo Halo so much. Would love to come back to try other dishes. It was a nice environment. Its a smaller space but the table setting were quite spacious. Hubby also love their settings as it was quite good for family with young kids. I also really like their choice of music. Kid-friendliness: Spacious and chill environment.

Experienced the Kamayan Feast a few weeks ago and it was delicious. Had to do this as a takeout order due to dine in restrictions but it was packaged in a way to make it easy to set up at home. Its a seasonal menu item so Im sure its over now but there is always something new happening on the menu. Kamayan means to eat with your hands and it was a hit with the kids. Really enjoyed learning more about traditional Filipino food traditions and the effort Filistix put into teaching it to other cultures. They even have a very informative video showcasing the feast and how to eat it effectively with your hands. The pork liempo was my favourite part of the dish. Cooked perfectly and had the perfect fat to meat ratio and the right amount of smokiness. It was well portioned with lumpia, grilled prawns, egg plant, garlic fried rice, spiced vinegar, atchara and fruits. Plus there was a nice desert called Biko that compliments the meal. Would totally recommend trying out Filistix, they are constantly keeping things fresh and new while making it easy for the newly adventurous and they are local.

Ok so if you havent been well you should definitely check them out. Wow the food was amazing.. Definitely brings you back home. My fav so far is the south Pacific coconut chicken. Everything is delicious and the service is exceptional.

The place was nicely decorated. The washroom is outside but private, you need a code. But the food is not what I expected to be. It tastes like normal Filipino food. And the spicy rice, I cant remember the name, is just spicy, no other flavours. The rest of the dish are normal. Although the names of the foods have a little twist on it. 2 stars for great and welcoming staff, and the desserts. I love the sans rival and the unique banana cake with leche flan on top dessert.

Update: We tried the take-home Frozen Bicol Express and it was excellent. It was easy to store in the freezer and made for a delicious supper after a long day of work. Cant wait to try our Beef Kare Kare. Original: What an amazing place. The atmosphere is as warm and inviting as the staff. We felt very cared for during our meal. The food was comforting and delicious and the drinks were cold and fresh. Will be returning to explore more of the menu. Plus, just hanging out there seems like a lot of fun.

We ordered the Botram meal last minute on Saturday and it was FANTASTIC! The staff were so friendly and accommodating for my late request. The meal was a nice sampling of many dishes, all very flavourful and fresh, and portions were very generous. I can t wait to order again from Filistix!

Ive been wanting to try their food for so long and I was finally able to do so. I ordered the fried chicken and spaghetti meal- so flavourful!! Ordered through the phone and Marc was great! We cant wait to try the other stuff!

We came here for our anniversary, the service was amazing! They suggested that we get the Lechon kawali sisig and I understand why, it was delicious crispy pork on a sizzling plate and the Thai chilies and onions were perfect for this dish. The pork adobo had great flavour, and we also got teriyaki vegetables (not pictured). All in all, it was a fantastic experience, top notch service and food. Highly recommend!

The place is neat and has a cozy feel. Their menu offers asian food selections with a twist. I find the spaghetti weird coZ the sauce was kinda diluted (not the usual thick sauce ) but still tastes like filipino spaghetti and that s what matters most.

I have been going to Filistix for years but have increased my orders significantly this past year due to recently moving downtown. Last time I placed a takeout order and returned home to find my chicken sando burned to the point where I had to throw it away in the trash. Ariel, the owner credited my account w/ the same meal for next time I ordered. Today, I called in another takeout order and specifically asked Anita (one of the staff members) if I could use the credit towards my order today or if I had to order that exact same meal. She said the credit could be carried over and when I went in to pick it up, Ariel informed me that I could not do that and therefore had to pay full price for my meal. They gave me $10 off by using my points that I had accumulated which was not at all what I had wanted to do w/ my points. Clearly the inconvenience of driving over and picking up burnt food and having no dinner that night meant nothing to them. Be cautious when ordering from Filistix as they don t treat their customers with any respect, if they burn your food, you don t get your money back but most importantly, they do not honour their word.

My partner and I had the KAMAYAN at Filistix Downtown, and it was fantastic. The owner explained how this feast is traditionally eaten with ones fingers and we had fun trying to do it properly. We paired the feast with beers from Situation Brewing (made in Edmonton). Which was an excellent choice! The food had such bold flavours, which, when combined, were even more delicious! I suggest everyone should try the KAMAYAN feast at Filistix Downtown!

Had the Kamayan tonight, it was exceptional! The bbq beef short rib was to die for - hope it becomes a regular on the menu! The service was also great, the staff walked us through every part of the meal. They were very attentive and friendly. Fantastic experience, highly recommend!

So I have been working in the same building as this place since it opened almost and I never ate/was exposed to Filipino food at all, so I slept on it, and today as a surprise for my birthday, my amazing friend/supervisor got me the Pork Adobo Rice Bowl. And I must say, DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS PLACE. I have never had pork melt in my mouth like theirs did (and this was consumed almost two hours after getting it) the marinade was on point, the rice was still amazing, and that brings me to the mysterious stuff I d usually avoid.. the slaw was just outrageously flavourful and had amazing texture and the Atchara almost reset your palette for your next chomp of amazing melt in your mouth pork shoulder.. Along with the amazing food, comes amazing staff and I must say I am looking forward for a dine in dinner one day just to get to know them a little more. Also I d post a picture but I ate most of it already. 10 s out of 5.

This place is really good. We went there for a fast dinner and we were able to get the food within 30 min. The food quality is espectacular and the staff has a good mood. This restaurant has a home-made atmosphere and all details in the place seems to be specifically selected to make you feel like home. Even the music is perfect. The noodle soup with meatballs is a MUST and the size of the bowls is perfect. Both bowls (coconut chicken and fried chicken) are well balanced and the flavour is exquisite. As we did not have time to get the dessert, they boxed up and we enjoyed at home...such delicious flavour. We definitely have to try this restaurant again; the menu is promising and we recommend it!

I had been meaning to come here for a little while and never thought about it for lunch when I was at work. Finally had an excuse to be in the area at lunch time and I was not disappointed. I had the classic Chicken Adobo and it was absolutely delicious. The combination of flavors and textures that are present on the plate is amazing and everything just tasted perfectly balanced. The staff is very friendly and seem to genuinely care about their customers and make every attempt to make you feel welcomed in their restaurant. An awesome experience and I will definitely be returning with some friends/co-workers again soon to try more items on the menu.

We had an excellent lunch here during the downtown dining week. Chicken adobo was great! They prep the food right in front of you, and their customer service made us feel welcomed and was not overbearing. We will definitely come back!

Codiner and I, as part of our participation in the annual Edmonton Downtown Dining Week, visited Filistix for weekday dinner. The space is small/cozy with total seating of around 30 [at tables and a counter]. We had the Filipino Set which had 5 courses [featuring Chicken Adobo and Pancit Canton] and filled both us, costing only $50 in total [a great deal]. It was delicious. Service was friendly, informed, and well timed. Two items of note are: table service is only available with Dinner [not Lunch when you order at the front counter] and parking can be tricky given the downtown location [so read the areas signs carefully].

GOOD FOOOD and now they do delivery!!! We ll be ordering adobo this weekend!

I thought this place looked more like a basic fast food joint from the outside, but that was far from the truth. The quality was good, everything was very clean, and the staff was even better.

Used to treat myself to Filistix while attending the U of A years ago and was excited to finally try their restaurant menu for the first time! Ordered the liempo, mee goreng, lumpia, and donuts for delivery. My order was personally delivered by Ariel (one of the owners) within the expected time frame. All items were packaged neatly and arrived nice and warm. Portion size of liempo and mee goreng was larger than expected. Liempo was delicious fatty goodness (recommend if you like pork belly -- try it with the dip it comes with!) and I enjoyed the flavours of the mee goreng. Size-wise, the lumpia and donuts were a little smaller than expected. Lumpia still tasted great especially paired with the dipping sauce, and the donuts had great flavours. The ube one was my personal favourite, but wish I could have tasted them straight out of the fryer! Maybe paper packaging instead of the plastic containers for the donuts would be better? Like the same type of packaging youd find at bakeries! Overall, efficient online ordering, prompt and friendly delivery, and yummy food! Thanks for dinner!!! :)

Just had a dinner date here by accident. Was looking for a nearby restaurant cos my partner and I were checking out something in downtown. Told him I was hungry and cant wait to eat. And when I saw this on the maps, I immediately suggested this. The guy was immediately welcoming and very helpful suggesting whats good on their menu. But when I saw the Bicol Express, I already knew what I want. Thankfully, my partner likes anything with coconut milk and spicy. Yum! We both finish the fried rice and bicol express up to last of the sauce and grain of rice. And man, the sans rival was sooooo good! It wasnt too sweet or milky. The dessert was made just exactly the way we like it! This is a hidden gem of a resto in downtown. Will definitely come back or just order online. Salamat po! Kami ay nabuchog luchog!

This was my first time eating Filipino food (other than the copious amounts of Yelod ice cream Ive even in my life, but thats another story), so I wasnt sure what to expect. I came here for a quick lunch and was pleased with the fast and courteous service. The sweet potato/lentil curry bowl was filling and tasty, and the slaw was a great contrast in and texture to the rice. Great experience!

We were visiting and decided to try Filistix as it was one of the top filipino restaurants in Edmonton according to Google. The place was quiet, we were the only ones who dined in, not surprising given the pandemic and there was nobody working downtown. The menu was simple and not overwhelming unlike most filipino restaurants. We ordered lechon kawali, immaculately crispy and tasty. I highly recommend this. We also ordered menudo, well-seasoned, delicious. The chicken adobo was the best Ive had so far. and that includes the ones Ive had in the Philippines. Items are a little too pricey, probably the most Ive had to pay for Filipino food but Id come back if Im ever in Edmonton again and craving pinoy food.

I had a great experience picking up food for a friend. To celebrate him finishing his MBA, I emailed Filistix and asked if they could make his favourite Indonesian dish. Filistix added it to the menu, I ordered it and I dropped it off at his house. His family loved it and it made for a great celebration dinner. Even though we cant have meals with friends, we can still share food experiences.Thank you Filistix!

The southwest coconut curry chicken... 10/10, the ultimate comfort food. I wish all Edmontonians knew about the gem that is FILISTIX. I bring my out of town friends here for lunch (typically to the UAlberta Campus location) and its always a hit.

November 2019 Newly opened Filipino (fusion style) restaurant (4 months since opening). They also serve other southeast Asian dishes. They have different menus for breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekends. Free parking after 5pm at the back of the building. We ordered Bagoong fried rice and lechon kawali dishes. Both dishes tasted delicious and served in big portions. Comes with a complimentary sip cup of broth. Friendly staff, great service, nice cozy environment, with a nice view of 100 Avenue.

Amazing food, I already loved their lunch menu, but their dinner menu blew me away.

Atmosphere was great. Quiet and cozy with a view of downtown. Service was impeccable. Friendly and attentive. Food was wonderful. We had three great dishes. The best being the pork belly.

Interesting fusion cuisine with unique flavors and spices. I found the common theme tangy and spicy, with fresh ingredients used to garnish. The rice portions run large for sharing, but the skewers/kebabs are quite small so youll likely be making two orders (4 small skewers). Good vegetarian options. For the stix I had the peppers and zuccini. Well seasoned and cooked, but the peppers were--f*ing hot. And I love the heat! Interesting dessert options if you like grass jellys and coconut milk. No parking onsite, as it is in the government district. Very friendly service.

Wouldnt go back. The service and food is great, but personally I found it a bit pricey. Originally a one star but its should be a three due to the great service. Again, this is simply my opinion.
