I like this place 👍👍👍 If you’re looking for a stylish spot to unwind, Fu’s Repair Shop is the place to be! 🌟✨ With a trendy vibe and an amazing atmosphere, it’s perfect for a night out with friends. The menu is absolutely fantastic! 🍸😋 Each drink is a masterpiece, and there’s something for everyone. 🍻❤️ Plus, the bathrooms are impressively clean, which is a huge bonus! 🧼🚻 Myself in a party of three found ourselves there after the Symphony , Fu’s is the go-to destination. Don’t miss out on this gem! 🌙🥳 Cheers to great times! 🍾🥂
My boyfriend and I went to Fu’s Repair Shop for dinner for the first time and had such a great time! The speakeasy vibe was really cool, and we loved the Japanese touches in the interior, especially the lanterns. We also enjoyed the Studio Ghibli film playing on the projector which was cute. My boyfriend loved the duck tacos, but the truffle siu mai were the real star for me. As someone who’s Asian and very picky, these were the best I’ve had! We’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu.
The decor is definitely eye catching, starting with the secret door to enter the main dining room. The alcohol mango lassi was good. I would skip the XLB. The wrapper was a bit thick and not much juice when biting in. The truffle sui mai had a good flavor, but seemed somewhat dry/dense. The beef noodle soup was tasty, quite a large portion. The standout dish for us was the duck taco. It was very tender and came with mixed sides for DIY wrapping to dip into a peanut sauce. Overall good food and excellent ambiance. If you come from a place with great Chinese food, then the food here doesn't necessarily stand out.
We heard good things about this place from a friend of ours. So we decided to check it out. And what a great experience it was. We were welcomed warmly and taken to our seats. The decor was awesome, quirky, and fun to see. The dishes were unique so we went for something which looked tasty. When the food came we were greatly surprised. It was tasty and quite different too. We ordered Singapore noodles and the Shanghai noodles. Both were awesome. Just delicious. I also ordered a mocktail called Une Nogroni. That drink was out of this world. I wished they served a large portion of it. Anyway if you are in downtown Edmonton you must go there. This is highly recommended by us.
Went here for my birthday dinner after wanting to go for a long time. It did not disappoint!! Such a cool spot to walk into & the vibes inside are immaculate. So many things to look at - it’s very cool!! The mocktail menu was fantastic - non-alcoholic Asahi & the mocktail negroni were both fantastic! We just ordered a ton of food to share & everyone loved the dishes. Service was great & food comes out super super quick. Will definitely be back!!
July 2023 - better late than never kind of review. Wonderful striking immersive decor. It left an everlasting impact and I remember it vividly a year+ later. Milk tea tiramisu was crazy good and not on the menu anymore 🥲. Was in love with I believe the Cherry Blossom cocktail. Would come back, but I'm hours away. Jealous of the locals.
Amazing spot in Edmonton. The vibe and atmosphere are 10/10- so beautiful indoors. Can’t help but explore and see all the intentional details to decor. We ordered cocktails this time, and they were great. Cherry blossom and Chinese Rose, followed by soju slush. Def recommend checking Fu’s out- it gets quite busy so make sure you plan in advance.
Amazing atmosphere - truly not a bad seat in the place. The food was well done and the drinks were excellent. Our server, Alda, was on top of things! She was very attentive and didn’t rush us - we were very well taken care of and appreciate her care. Would definitely recommend and would love to come again
Couldnt wait to check this place out, and it did not disappoint! Wow! My fave was the milk buns, I could eat those all day. Everything we had was perfect. We cant wait to go back and try more of the menu! The place was delightful to hang out in, as well. The cool door to go in, the beautiful chairs, lighting, everything. Very fun Dietary restrictions: They inquire Kid-friendliness: No kids
This was a very unique and enjoyable dining experience. Food, service, drinks, and environment was all great!
Great Place, Great Food, very good service. We loved the Soup Dumplings, Duck Tacos, Peachy Shrimp, Lychee Aguachile, Beef Noodle Bowl (and on and on). We can see why it can be hard to get a table. We came away very happy.
5 stars throughout. Maybe 4 for the cocktails & mocktails as they were wildly overpriced. But the food. The food. Inspired and amazing! Service was perfect and the decor lively & fun. Will be back. Soon.
Great vibes for a group setting, food, and service were top notch.
So nice to be there! Super smooth, super cool! Nice mood. Good stuff to drink and so good stuff to eat. Thanks to everybody ! Food : 5/5
Our entire group (8) had the best meal, the service was very friendly, zero mistakes on our order, maybe slower than normal service but we were a big group and the food came out as it was hot and ready (didn t bother me and the flip side is we didn t feel rushed). I ordered the Crazy Rich Rice Noodles and it had flavours I have never experienced before that were delicious! My mouth was very pleased! Also I am a vegetarian and found I had options and I don t drink and really enjoyed the non-alcoholic dragonfruit refresher cocktail I had!
Very nice space . Good , viby atmosphere. Unfortunately felt unwelcome , booked several weeks in advance . Table for 2 at the door :) . Several others open! Difficult to have conversation if you would like intimate dinner . Denied relocation to the counter , even though several available . Only 3 things for wine : one Prosecco, , one white , one red . Prosecco came in a a very tiny coupe that made me feel very big . Waiting for food lol. Has to be exceptional to bring me back !
Went to Fu s Repair shop last month, I believe Nov 9th and unfortunately left early due to the noise level and service. We were really excited to try this place out, and made a reservation when a friend was in town. Upon arriving the music was so loud we couldn t hear each other across the table and were stuck yelling to have a conversation, and my watch was consistently alerting me that the sound levels were at a damaging level. The restaurant was packed so we knew we couldn t try to get a different table. When our server came by I asked, while prefacing I knew it was something that probably couldn t be changed, if it was possible to have the music turned down slightly. The server responded very rudely with absolutely not while looking absolutely disgusted I even asked, and walked away from our table avoiding it for the next 30 minutes. Listen, we are all in our early 30s and have worked service jobs. I knew it was probably a no when I asked and I tried to be polite and at least try, but the response we got was so incredibly rude. We ended up leaving and finding another restaurant because in the end all we wanted to do was have some conversation with our meal and it was completely impossible at Fu s. The drink I had was good, and I was looking forward to trying the food. I may consider coming again and updating my review, but I truly hope the owners look at the sound design inside and consider taking the audio down a notch or improving the sound dampening inside.
As a foodie, the food was pretty good, service was great and atmosphere is spectacular. If you re walking too quick and distracted you ll miss it, pay attention, it s very underground Food
Consistently bad service. Our servers constantly seem as if theyre annoyed to be serving you and never come by. The food was ok we could only have the late night menu due to the time. The bao buns my friend had could have had more meat in it. I had the only gluten friendly option on the menu and it was fine. Nothing remarkable or particularly off putting. Please work on the service. Wheelchair accessibility: Washrooms are down stairs!
Fus Repair Shop was a great spot for a lovely dinner on a cold evening. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. Our server Bennet was delightfully hospitable and on top of things all evening! His recommendation of the Chan Bao with the daily feature filling (Fried chicken with a vinaigrette slaw) was superb! We also had the Lychee Green Szechuan Aguachile, which was a great appetizer, and the Mr Chens Noodle bowl, which was decadent and made for some great leftovers. The Return of The Dragon cocktail was a group favourite and the One Summers Day featured cocktail was a subtle and enjoyable drink. Overall, Fus Repair Shop was a wonderful experience and I look forward to returning at some point in the future.
Atmosphere was okay, unless you REALLY love red lighting. I guess the deco is cute - arguably a bit cultural appropriation there tho. Weird anime on projector. Service was not great and I don t appreciate tip options starting at 18% when the server never checked on us, was rushing service, and generally was providing inadequate service. Cocktails were overpriced for cliche Asian fusion ideas, but compared to the food it was relatively a lot better. Food was overhyped and utterly underwhelming. Driest soup dumplings I ve ever had in my life. Other dim sum were also poorly made. Fried noodles were greasy and lacking ingredients. All dishes showed good ideas but were poorly executed. They need to pay a lot more attention to details. Being busy is not an excuse; in fact, it wasn t even busy when I went. Had high expectations before coming in but was completely let down. Won t be back and won t be recommending anyone to come.
We had a fantastic welcome from the host at the door. The food and atmosphere were amazing. The service was good. Everything brought out quick, hot, and fresh. It was just very robotic. Our server would talk but not really look at us while talking. You could tell she says the same things over and over. We booked at 5:30 hoping to have a leisurely dinner with an old friend. We wanted to try several cocktails, several rounds of food. We ordered our second round of food at around 6:40 but were told that the table we were sitting at was booked at 7:15. It was a bit odd. Our food arrived and while we were eating the server said our time at that table was up and we would need to move to the bar. A number of servers helped her move our cocktails and food over. I guess maybe if we had been told when booking, or when we arrived that we only had just under 2 hours we could have been mindful of that. I understand seatings in restaurants however there may have been an opportunity to buy the new guests a drink at the bar while they waited for their table? Or at the very least communicated to us right from the start that there is a limit on each table. The saving grace was that the gentleman who served us at the bar was fantastic! Very personable. Very good at his craft. I will definitely be back and will recommend however I will warn people that they should not expect to make a night of it as you have less than 2 hours to get in and out!
Atmosphere and service was great, really good mood and decor. Food for us was pretty underwhelming to be honest. Rice undercooked, cold soup dumplings - Truffle Siu Mai good though. May come back for a drink but would probably pass on the food.
Trendy and feels like a cool place to be in. Food is pretty good and decently priced. 4 stars because the duck tacos is an awkward dish especially to share, it would be much better if the duck came sliced or shredded. Food
Easily one of the best dining experiences Ive had in a good while. I say best new spot Ive found in years. Talking asian style food to that next level you didnt think was possible. Good food, good drinks, and even better atmosphere.
Great cocktails, food, and atmosphere. Top spot in Edmonton
This place should be ashamed to be serving Chinese food. Been to dozens of Chinese restaurants throughout my time as a born Edmontonian and this feels so low quality and inauthentic. Unfortunately, I feel that many people who like this restaurant only like it because lack experience with other local Chinese food (maybe because theyre afraid to go to Chinatown). Im a shrimp fiend, hence why I love Chinese food. How is this place going be a Chinese restaurant and give me dry, chewy, overcooked shrimp for BOTH of my shrimp dishes? Tiny portions for the price too. I say it feels inauthentic because they seem more about creating a vibe than dishes made with love. Go to any other local Chinese restaurant, especially in Chinatown, PLEASE youll notice the difference immediately!
Great music, great atmosphere on a Friday. Social bites were good too!
Food - delicious. Service - appalling I m not sure where these service workers get off acting so belligerently rude and disrespectful but I will never be returning to Fu s. Management should seriously take a look into their hiring practices
We went on a Wednesday night, and it was not so busy. The server was effective in looking after us, and the atmosphere/decor is on point. It s a perfect place for a date night! The ones we ordered (Chow Fan, Crazy Rich Rice Noodles, Truffle Siu Mai, Pork Wontons) were tasty! And it s cute how the mains came in lightweight vintage pots. My favorite is the truffle siu mai, you have to try it out. In terms of cocktails, I had Return of the Dragon and Dragonfruit Margarita. The latter is worth the cost. Cherry Blossom looks pretty, though. I ll definitely come back to try more!
Definitely worth a stop for great eats, delicious cocktails and fantastic service. If you re lucky enough to be served by Alda then you will be I great hands. She made the best recommendations and we loved everything she recommended. When Shane is spinning you re guaranteed to be listening to some great tracks while you enjoy an incredible ambience.
Fu s Repair Shop is a must-visit if you re downtown. My date and I had the Wasabi Sazerac and Fist of Fu both were spirit-forward, complex, yet perfectly balanced. Just the right amount of kick and smoke, while still incredibly smooth. The atmosphere is amazing and immersive, with tasteful decor and music at just the right volume to keep the energy lively without overpowering conversation. Everything about this place felt thoughtfully curated. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable night out!
Visited from out of town with a friend of mine. The crazy rich noodles and tea cured salmon were incredible - shoutout our server Denise for her great energy and explaining the menu clearly!
It really is an amazing vibe there, the decorations are super cool, great music and a fun entry. The staff were very nice and the service was incredibly quick. The braised beef was the best Ive ever had and the cocktails were delightful. Would highly recommend
Really enjoyed my meal and cocktail. Will happily return again.
I was Looking For a Apartment Just moving back To edmonton For work. I was Having A Rough Day I decided to pop in here For Some Drinks And Wow! Im glad I did it ligit cheered me up. I get through this 7 up speak easy Door, I look Around Theres lanterns And The people Are So nice. Sit At The Bar The Atmisphere heres such a Vibe. Anyone living In Edmonton Should try this Bar Out. You Dont see many things like this Around its well Worth it!
Amazing food, cocktails, and service!
Everything was great, especially the atmosphere. This was the best green onion pancake Ive ever had. The duck tacos and bao were unreal as well.
Food has no favour , Bad experience
Very cool vibe there, good music, clean bathrooms. My friend tried to order a dirty martini, but was told they didnt have olive juice, which is weird for a place that serves cocktails. My lychee martini was pretty good. Service was okay. Server was probably new. Got my order wrong and they tried to give us the wrong dish 3 times before she realized shed put in the wrong order, so had to wait a while to eat while everyone else had their food. When I got my dish (the very rich noodles dish w/ tofu) it was VERY spicy. No disclaimer on the menu about that. Luckily I can handle spicy food. Also the daily veg listed on the menu is really just onions and herbs, just FYI. We thought there would be vegetables in our dishes and were wondering where they were. Overall, it was okay. Very cool place, but the experience was a bit ho-hum. Would maybe go back to have a cocktail, but probably not to dine.
Great space and Edmonton really needs more of these. Vibes, atmosphere, and music are electric, staff are extremely pleasant, but the bao is not boa. Milk bread with garlic butter spread on top for $12. Get the cocktails, have some laughs but avoid the bao.
The food was lackluster for the price paid. The beef noodles were salty and frankly one note, theres not much complexity to it expected from beef noodles of that price, and I was extremely disappointed. The fries were ok, nothing spectacular though, same thing with cocktails. Oh boy, the green onion cakes; there were like three green onion pieces in the quartered slice of deep fried cake... The chili oil was so...disappointingly bland. How do you even make a bland chili oil? How do you miss out the green onion, in a green onion cake? The only ok thing was the duck leg appetizer, but they skipped out on so much of the fresh and picked vegetables that should accompany it, compared to how it should be done in Asia. Two pickled tomatoes and three cucumber planks??? I almost never leave negative reviews, but this place is all shine and no substance. Seriously, if the food is going to be this disappointing, then lower your prices. Truly baffled at the reviews. If you want good Chinese food, Hong Kong Cafe is where it is at.
Excellent experience with Shaquille tonight! Outstanding food, great service and the vibes are amazing! Will definitely be coming back to check out the late night menu on a Friday or Saturday!
I spent one day traveling alone through Edmonton and needed a spot for dinner. When I got to Fus on a weekend night it was a 45 minute wait just to sit alone at the bar! The surrounding neighborhood gets a little weird, but I stuck it out anyway and was glad I did. I had the Return of the Dragon cocktail, Cia-Shu noodles and a green onion cake. All three of them were absolutely top-notch. The service was excellent and the vibe of the restaurant is great as well. Overall this place was the singular highlight of my trip to Edmonton. I definitely recommend it, and also recommend having a reservation.
I came to Fu s for the first time recently with a few friends. The atmosphere was amazing. We had Shaquille as our server and she made our experience even better. She recommended great food and yummy drinks. We will definitely tell our friends about Fu s and definitely be back!
Very cool atmosphere, the server was incredible and the food was pretty good. Be prepared for small portions. The soup dumplings were super delicious but some other dishes we had were a little lack luster in flavor. Vegetarian options: Lots of Vegetarian and Vegan options which is amazing Parking: Only paid street parking so be prepared to walk a couple blocks if you cant find something right in front of the restaurant
I really liked the novelty and ambiance of Fu s. The food fell short for me though. We tried a bunch of dishes: duck tacos, peachy shrimp, cha-siu shanghai noodle, Mr. Chen s beef noodle bowl and Fu s Chow Ho Fun with cha-siu. Our group of 5 generally liked all the dishes but the portion sizes were small (relative to price) and the items in the Wok hay section lacked the distinct wok hei I am accustomed to. Their cha-siu is notable and was delicious. But if you are looking for a trendy, fun eatery, and are not as picky as I, then Fu s is a good option. Reservations recommended. Book early.
From out of town and came here for a birthday on the recommendation of a friend. The atmosphere and vibe were great. The drinks were awesome (especially the soju offerings) and food was delicious (truffle soy mai dumplings were our favourite). Definitely no regrets coming here. Will return and recommend to anyone looking for a great dining experience
Great place, service was fast and waitor was very accomodating. Food had unique flavours served fresh and warm! Loved the atmosphere and vintage decor!
Our server Morsai had great customer service and she was just the sweetest!!
Awesome place with delicious food!
We celebrated my husband bday tonight. The menu/drinks are a bit pricy but the food is yummy! Beautiful atmosphere and we had such a good server (Aiden) best service weve received in a long time! Duck tacos are my fave!
Amazing atmosphere!
Incredible experience at Fus Repair Shop. The space is such a treat for the eyes. Such a cool and hip space. They also have a extension to a patio onto Jasper Ave. The food was Asian fusion. Lots of great choices to choose from. It was all very good. But the stat of the show here are the cocktails. Our server was amazing at our last visit. So positive, funny and helpful. Overall a new fun dining experience. Also super for the late night crowd. 5 x
Trendy Asian place with very funky vibe! The food was very creative combining a taste of different Asian cuisine. The cocktail was always excellent!
We went for dinner and were seated in the extended area which wasnt quite as nice as the main part of the restaurant. The chairs were really uncomfortable too. The food was delicious - we had the soup dumplings, beef noodle soup, salmon salad, and Mala Cheung Fun. It was all delicious and tasted similar to food weve had in Taiwan. The main downside was the service was terrible! Our server took way to long to take our order, she didnt bring out any of our food and didnt ask how it was until we were done everything. I had to ask other servers for water multiple times (the food is salty!) and once we were done eating it took 20 minutes to get the bill. I would go back, the food was so good!
Came in for our anniversary with a $200 gift certificate to blow and Morsal was amazing! Cocktails were stellar and all of the food was delicious. Standouts were the salmon salad and the ceviche-style scallops. Thank you <3
Great food, drinks, and vibe.
Almost missed this place while walking by, but I m so glad we found it - I was blown away by the food. Each dish was incredible in its own way, and the cocktails matched that standard. Will absolutely be recommending this place to friends and family!
Great experience! Went there to celebrate my bachelorette and had the best time! I forgot who our server was but he was AMAZING! great service, food and overall just a great place
Amazing food
Incredible service. My coworkers and I showed up right before last call and they were so accommodating and let us enjoy our drinks and hangout. 5 stars for sure!!! Such a cute lil vibey place.
Not bad. Funky vibe, good music. Amazing Shanghai Noodles with beef. The fried rice was a 10 also. But $16 for a cocktail? which, by the way was super small. Highway robbery. Ya it has a chili pepper in it, but $16? Man.........
The food is poor and the service is poor. The atmosphere is fun, and the interior is very cool. Fellow foodies, I wouldn t waste your time or money on this place. Maybe try it once but then you will see for yourself that this place is overhyped and underwhelms. There is nothing spectacular about the food, it is average. The service, was very long and she didn t check in on us (I love giving people the benefit of the doubt but when you see your server just standing and talking to their co-workers for long periods of time instead of checking in on you, then that is poor service). Very mid experience for what we paid for. Ps don t get the duck tacos if you want to make your own dinner, I m not sure why I was spending $20 for me to assemble my meal.
We were in the event space which is so cool. I love the brick walls, the furniture, and the lanterns. The Mango Lassi drink is a fantastic beverage. The atmosphere is unique and interesting. I didnt eat anything, but id love to go back for a meal.
Was looking forward to going here as we have heard many great things on social media and in Edify magazine. The decorations are cool, and the overall atmosphere is fun. Unfortunately, the food really was a miss. When we were given soup bowls to start, they were dirty and had leftover food in them so we asked for them to be replaced. Our server was great and very apologetic, at least. We were told our dim sum would come before our main course, but all of it came at once which was a surprise. The dim sum was okay, I expected better. The noodle dish we had was also underwhelming. My partner and I bit right into star anise and fennel seeds over and over which wasnt pleasant. On the other hand, drinks took a very long time to be served, like 15+ minutes. I waited 20 minutes for a drink, and we were sat right beside the bar and I could see the bartenders standing around chatting with each other. The real kicker was when I watched the bartender try a drink she had made for a customer, then grab a waiter to come and taste it as well before serving it to a customer. Overall, this place is definitely more for the vibes and decorations than the food. Disappointing that they were voted best cocktails in the city.... Attention to detail is very much lacking.
Delicious! But very rich and the portions were quite small. Very loud.
Tasty drinks and food! Great atmosphere. With our last visit, we had reservations and had to wait 20 minutes for a table and our server forgot some items/delievered the wrong flavors. That usually doesnt occur though.
Big shout out to CAM. it was our first time and he did a great job walking us through the menu. We were amaze at his product knowledge and excellent service
Super cool vibe, food was delicious
Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Edmonton. The vibes are immaculate and the food is world class. I am definitely not cool enough to be here but they let me in the door lol Parking: Its not impossible to find parking but it might take you a bit so its best that you be prepared to walk. All of the parking in this area is paid. There are no free options. Kid-friendliness: There are no minors allowed, no exceptions.
The visual concept, ambience and vibe of the place is great and the service is top notch but nearly every dish across the board is on the too salty side. Would come back just cause its a cool place to check out but definitely not just for the food.
Beautiful dinner spot with lots of cute food options. It took more than half an hour to flag our server to leave but otherwise, it was a pretty good dinner.
Fus Repair Shop is undeniably one of the best restaurants in Edmonton for Asian cuisine. Our recent visit to this vibrant eatery left us thoroughly impressed with both the food and the service. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a bustling atmosphere, quite remarkable for a Thursday evening. Thankfully, we had made a reservation, which is highly recommended due to the restaurants popularity. The menu boasts a variety of intriguing dishes, but the standouts for us were the pork wonton in chili oil, the miso goma salad, and the crazy rich rice noodles. The pork wontons were delicate and packed with flavor, perfectly complemented by the spicy chili oil. The miso goma salad was a refreshing start to our meal, with a delightful blend of flavors and textures that left us craving more. However, the highlight was undoubtedly the crazy rich rice noodles. This dish was an explosion of taste, with a rich, savory sauce that perfectly coated the tender noodles. For dessert, we indulged in the Kansai mess, a deconstructed cheesecake that was nothing short of perfection. My wife particularly loved this dessert, and I must agree, it was a delightful end to our meal. Our server, Morsal, was fantastic. She was attentive, friendly, and ensured that we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Her recommendations were spot on, enhancing our dining experience. I also must mention the mango lassi cocktail, which was a refreshing and innovative twist on the classic drink. It was the perfect accompaniment to our meal, adding a sweet and tangy note that I thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, Fus Repair Shop offers an exceptional dining experience with its superb Asian cuisine, fantastic service, and lively atmosphere. If youre in Edmonton and in search of a memorable meal, this is the place to go. Just remember to book a reservation to secure your spot at this popular dining destination.
The food was good and the cocktails were amazing! Super disappointed with the service. Felt rushed when there were open tables, didn t feel welcomed by the server or host. The atmosphere is great but wish we had gotten a chance to fully enjoy it while having reserved a table in dinning but had the door open and blinded by light at the front of the building which was disappointing.
What a fun and unique spot! Great food and drinks, responsibly priced for the portions you get, service was slow and seemed to be having an off night, but willing to look past that as everything else was incredible!
Great food, better service! Great music!
This would be the 2nd Birthday party I ve hosted for my Husband with this group. At 1st I thought what an intriguing name, certainly captures the attention to make it memorable. I m all about supporting local, yes it s local entrepreneurs who operate this location, and are behind some of the citys finest restaurants. They go beyond the ordinary dining experience, offering a speakeasy atmosphere with an Asian twist that will delight any foodie. Their crafted drinks are on point. The owners actively engage with the community, with a sense of togetherness and being unique. Fu s Repair Shop easily earns a spot on my top 10 list of places to dine in YEG.
This is such a fun place. The dramatic speakeasy entrance really sets the vibe, the food is imaginative and vibrant, and a place this cool might be forgiven for having snobby service but the staff are all warm and engaging and seem excited to be there. We had the milk bread Bao with pork belly, sui mai, truffle har gow, duck tacos, and the beef chow ho fun. Im a guy who likes to crush dim sum and halfway through I thought, hey maybe I didnt order enough, but as I got closer to the end I was glad I didnt get the chicken wings also. This is substantial and well-considered food with really fun twists, and its very filling. I think Fus really encapsulates what excellent casual dining is supposed to be. Affordable, killer food, with an atmosphere that makes you wonder if youre cool enough to be there, and staff that assures you that you are.
Came here after seeing how highly rated it is. The prices are good and the ambiance is great but unfortunately most of the dishes we ordered were just okay. There are a lot better dim sum restaurants in the city. We ordered around 8 dishes and only the green onion cakes stood out as being really good, all other dishes were below average. The service was also a bit of a struggle. Even though when we arrived there was almost no one else there, it still took forever even to just get a basic drink. Even getting a refill on a Pepsi (which are extremely small) took an unusually long time. The staff were really nice of course and this would be a good place to go out drinking, but if you are just here for food I would give it a pass.
Great vibe and food! Really loved it.
I love the service and atmosphere here. The servers and bartenders are very friendly while the vibe is always bumpin . I really enjoy their house cocktails and their soju flights. Otherwise, their food is very very mediocre. I personally wasn t a fan and it wasn t hot when it arrived to the table.
This place very quickly became one of our favorite places to eat! Not only is it incredible inside for decor (feels like you may end up in an epic underground fight scene with John Wick), but the food is also fine and delicious - oh goodness! I want to go there right now . Keep it up Fu s. Highly recommend.
A bright culinary light in the crumbling wasteland of Edmonton s downtown core. Worth the trip, definitely.
Favorite date night/celebration spot
The atmosphere is imacculate- the Asian latenight speakeasy vibes are so cozy and effortlessly cool. Service was good however they are so busy that the food does take a while to come out. Food was absolutely amazing- recommend the wontons in spicy chili oil above all else. Make sure to make a reservation!
Damn good food and cocktails. I dont remember what they were called but I had a dish of leeks with a sauce of some kind. I didnt know leeks could taste like that. The whole concept/atmosphere of the place is a bit too flashy to me. Too made for instagram, but thats just my taste. (hence the 3 star atmosphere)
Very cool ambiance! Excellent time.
Arguably the best cocktail/dinner spot in Edmonton. Must visit for a great ambiance and great food.
Server brought me the wrong drink, and when I asked them to bring the right one, they ended up charging me for both? Makes sense..
Such a vibe at Fu s! Cute little spot to get some great food and drinks! Service was amazing and just the overall ambiance was amazing!
Unique type of Speak Easy, that will wow your friends when you walk in without them knowing the dinner plans. Fus offers fresh and delicious Dim Sum and unique cocktails that will have you talking about it and wanting more for days to come! Entering through a make shift cellular mobile repair shop then sneaking through a retro 7UP pop machine you enter a traditional decorative Asian inspired restaurant. The likes of John Wick or Kill Bill would fawn over the decor as you await cocktails you have never seen nor tasted before. The food is of exceptional quality and as the red lights fill the room and you notice Easter eggs amongst the surrounds such as the Double Dragon Room, the ambiance is a theme to the dining experience making the food and cocktails are the more delicious offering a truly immersive experience. The walk to the bathrooms through a 1970s style salon past vintage electronics is another treat you didnt know you needed that takes place at some point throughout the evening. The duck tacos, siu Mai and bao buns were exceptional. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for dining, just cocktails or assassinating the kingpin thugs who murdered your dog.
Fus repair shop was amazing at handling a payment issue I had with them after attending an event at double dragon. Their venue is amazing, drinks are delicious, and customer service is impeccable. Highly suggest visiting them!
The character and ambiance of the entrance and dining area is different in a good way. Food was good with variety as well as drinks. Did not appreciate the mandatory 18% gratuity that was not mentioned on our bill for two people in a party of six.
Thank you, Cameron, for taking such good care of us. The food was very good. Great flavours, good presentation.
Sad to say, Fu s fell off. The drinks aren t what they used to be. I don t know who s making the recipes but all the drinks I tried were just not good, amateur at best. The little cups they come in now are also just ugly with no personality. It feels like I m paying $14 for 3 sips of a drink in an ikea cup. The food is ok still, but pretty overrated for something I could grab at afternoon dim sum for a larger quantity and lesser price. Meh.
I had a dinner at Fu s the other night and although it was a pretty average night in Edmonton, my company and I still quite enjoyed our dinner. I personally think its what Edmonton needs more of in the night life culture. The atmosphere reminded me of a place in Vancouver I went to awhile ago, which is a positive thing because Vancouver definitely has a better nightlife than Edmonton. The last aspect that I liked was having a maximum dining time as well as being required to book. It keeps the place exclusive enough so no one can just walk up and get a table plus it limits customers so you know you will still have a chance to get in Saturday without waiting long. I thought the food was good along with the drinks (On expensive side) but overall I think Fu s Repair shop has some serious potential to be an Edmontons weekend Go-To spot.
Love everything about this place! Always happy to be back! Dietary restrictions: team is super careful about allergies and dietary restrictions Food : 5/5 |
Went by myself traveling from out of town to edmonton but my meal could have been split for 2 it was very filling. Instaworthy speakeasy design but very popular location
Drinks were great. Food was delicious. And our server (Sean, Shaun, or Shawn, sorry) was excellent. Every one of his recommendations was spot on.
Everything has been amazing. Great vibes, very busy, great music, great food and friendly staff. Ordered soup dumplings, pork dumplings, and some cocktails. My favourite was the mango cocktail. Highly recommended
Everything was excellent. I normally don t get excited about chicken wings but they are a must try. The atmosphere was fun without being too loud and our server was always available without hovering. We will definitely be returning. Food
no phone to contact regarding hours and events, very unprofessional for a business in 2024
This place is comparable to Roy Choi s Best Friend in Las Vegas, minus the latin influence. This place is an absolute vibe. I honestly did not expect Edmonton to have something like this because let s be real, Edmonton is pretty lame in that department. However this place is far from lame. You initially enter through a speakeasy door and are immediately immersed with asian influence all around. Let s not forget about the unique DJ booth set up they have going on in the back that is blasting hip hop and r&b hits. My friends and I tried out the entire drink menu. Drinks average $14-15. I recommend the Return of the Dragon, the Lavender Water Lily, and the Spiked Mango Lassi. The only one I didn t like was the Fist of Fu but that has mezcal and whisky in it. However, overall the drinks were phenomenal. I would advise you book a reservation as this place is very popular. If you are thinking of trying this place out and have never been, DO IT.
Aiden the bartender is phenomenal. Made us custom drinks all night and recommended the best food. We had truffle dumplings, the soup dumplings and Mr. Chen s Beef Noodle Bowl, and of course green onion cakes. All amazing and highly recommended. 10/10
Great place to have a date ! My wife and I really enjoyed the vibe, the cocktails were very neat and the food was pretty good with a generous portion. The service was excellent.
Good food and vibes
I have never ever ever left here feeling disappointed. Fantastic service, food and atmosphere that you cant find anywhere else!
This place is buzzing. Amazing food + drink and the atmosphere makes you forget that youre in Edmonton lol! Bonus stars to their in-house dj.
We were a group of 8 on a time crunch on a Saturday night to attend a concert. We reached out in advance for a group menu. It was awesome. The food just kept coming and it tasted great. The drinks were awesome. Maddie our server was wonderful. Great night and great ambiance!
MIX is the key word of this restaurant. 1. Environment: Chinese style decoration mix played Japanese Anime, its a kind of weird. 2. Menu: (Whoever wrote the menu must speak Cantonese. some word is neither pinyin nor English. Foreigners cant understand what it means, and Chinese people(especially for mandarin speaker) have to think about it for half a day. 3. Atomsphere: restaurant mix with bar, you can tell by the way the waiters dress and the DJ in the restaurant. But most people come here for a date or to meet up with friends, and the music is a little too loud for good conversation 4.Food: Really Good Its a combination of Chinese and Western.
New location, still great.
The food is incredible. Great atmosphere. Great service.
Very happy to find this place. Loved my Empress Martini and Viet Coffee Negroni. Will return.
The ambiance in here is top notch. Staff are friendly and accommodating. I take people here when I want to impress them.
Fus Repair Shop is an essential destination in Edmonton and always at the top of my list for recommendations to visitors. Whether youre looking to enjoy a few drinks and reconnect with a friend, or if youre part of a large group eager to indulge in some of Edmontons most delicious dishes, Fus is the place to be. The atmosphere is exactly what youre likely searching for.
The food and drinks are delicious, its absolutely beautiful inside and the service was great. The options are interesting and its super fun to try and share a few dishes with friends. I highly recommend visiting and I will return soon.
Excellent restaurant with speakeasy entrance. Our server, Ashley-Renee, provided excellent service. She was welcoming and did a great job of providing recommendations for food and drinks. We had green onion cakes, dumplings, bao, and a Shanghai noodle bowl. The food came out extremely quickly, and was hot and delicious. The bartender prepared excellent cocktails, I had an old fashioned and my partner had the cherry blossom. Well crafted and accompanied with a flower. The restaurant has nice decor and vibes. Loved the 90s rap they were playing. Im excited to return to experience the other venue on premises.
Cool place for the atmosphere but food was a hit or miss. For the price I would rather go to an actual dimsum place and get dimsum. Also my boyfriend ended up with food poisoning. Staff was friendly and very helpful I would say fun place for drinks but food is really not it.
Attentive service, despite it being very busy. Peach shrimp is a must try. Everything we ate was a winner. Amazing, unique cocktails.
Its been a long time since I enjoyed a new restaurant as much as Fus . Best dumplings I have had in a long time. We shared 5 small dishes between the two of us- all were amazing. Special shout out for the stir fry pork dumplings and the crispy wings! Drinks were excellent as well. Great vibe!
Had the all night dim sum and some small eats for a date night. The food, atmosphere, and service were exceptional. The pork won tons in chili oil and the duck tacos were particularly good. We ll definitely be back.
While this restaurant has its strengths and weaknesses, one significant downside is their consistent use of Afro beats and hip hop culture without acknowledging Black culture, especially during Black History Month. It would be more respectful for them to highlight their own Asian culture instead of profiting from Black culture and music without recognition. Its disheartening to see them adopt trends without honoring the origins.
Loving this place! Awesome food (very unique and rich in flavour), really prompt service, and beautiful decor and ambience. We got the bokchoy salad, fried pork dumpling, chan bao (simply delicious), and the chow ho fun with chicken. Everything had a unique and rich flavour. Just wow. For cocktails I thought the lavender water lily was awesome!!!
A great add to Edmontons food scene. Very innovative food and extremely flavour full as well. Will surely come back to try the ones we couldnt today!
I really enjoyed coming here with my besties. Amazing tasting food, great cocktails, and awesome music! The music did get a little bit too loud but it was okay. Id recommend making a reservation as it was very busy the Friday night we went. We sat at the bar which was okay as well. The chairs were comfortable and we got to talk to the bartender about all the cocktails being made. Awesome service! Overall a great place!!
A great place to check out for a non-standard date night. The drinks, food & service were fantastic. We will happily return.
Awful service put us on the waitlist when we came back an hour later told us they ran out of food.
Fus Repair Shop is such a cool place!! Went with my friends & we ordered a bunch of dishes & shared them all. The food was amazing! There was so much more we wanted to order so well definitely be back again. So many cool things to see & Easter eggs to find. A must visit restaurant!!
With the exception of the service we received, what a great experience. The food, drinks and atmosphere made it worth the trip. It s hard to pick a favourite, but I d say the Shanghai Noodles were the best! Highly recommended!
Our server made the night 1000x better. The service was wonderful!
Great spot for dates, hangouts, and drinks! Atmosphere and vibes were phenomenal! The food was average. More so a spot for drinks and appetizers than a typical meal.
Went to meet friends here on a Wednesday night because their website and Instagram said open Wed 5-10. They were closed, but no sign on the door and no hours posted. Really disappointed as we wanted to try the new location. Call first to ensure they are open before showing up.
Great atmosphere! The cocktails and appys were small portions for the price. Otherwise a great experience!
We went for a friends birthday dinner. The atmosphere = amazing. The service also = amazing. The drinks were good. The food was okay. I did go with a larger group, and it did slip my mind that, typically, an automatic gratuity is applied to parties larger than 8 people. To no ones fault other than my own, when it came time to pay, I just grabbed my bill and tipped 20% as I always do. Only to find out when I got home(looked at my receipts), I had already paid 18% gratuity and then tipped 20% on top of that. So I ended up tipping $27 on a $73 dollar bill. I agree that the service industry works hard, and we were very well taken care of, but I do feel a little upset that there wasnt a reminder of the 18% gratuity. I would still recommend this location for the esthetics/experience, just a little upset about my own experience.
Really fun place both in the environment and the food. The space gives the back room experience while keeping the theme of the repairshop and Chinese food theme well. Food is based on traditional dim sum items with fun twists from international cuisine. Definitely worth going!
Came for a large birthday party. The food was great and the drinks were delicious. Definitely not a space to come and chat with a large group (music was very loud), but a great place to party and dance.
We didnt have a reservation, but my best friend wanted to eat her birthday dinner here. So we walked in, 2hr wait for a table, but they had bar seating with zero wait time. All of the staff were amazing. The bartender with the butterfly tattoos on his hand (forgot his name) was so knowledgeable of the menu, and it was so cool to watch him make drinks. This is a very worth it restaurant to check out, and they support other local vendors and small businesses. 100/10. We will definitely be back, I just cant say enough good things.
Great experience Great service. I cant wait to return to taste more from this delicious menu. Im definitely going to bring out of town friends. Food : 5/5
What a gorgeous restaurant! I hope to come visit again!!
The shrimp dumplings were just about the best thing I have ever put in my mouth.
Walked in drooling like Homer Simpson, left with his figure. Outstanding!!
Great place for cocktails and food. Fairly busy. Had to be on the wait list. I love how they hid the bar door behind a retro fridge, Prohibition themed secretive Speakeasy. Delicious fried rice, had the Wai Siu fried rice with Confit duck. Annoyingly got a table that was wobbly. Unfortunately the server was too late in serving my friend a drink who was waiting for 20 minutes. Asian aspired. Bathrooms are down a couple of stairs.
alda is the best server here, the other two girls could not match her energy or personality, or even smile but alda killed it we loved her
We brought our mom here last night for her birthday and it was phenomenal!! The service and food/cocktails this evening were great. Our server, Denise, was wonderful and super kind. She communicated with our table, made good food recos, and we always had full glasses. For dessert, she even put candles on mom s dessert to make it special. We ll be back!
Food, drinks, vibes, decor, and music were all on point!!! Such a cool place
Ive been searching for a place that felt like south east Asia, but specifically Vietnam for over 6 years since I went ! This is the place ! Love it here. Service was amazing. The Dragon fruit margaritas was . Will be back !
Cool spot. Loved the whole vibe. If youre looking for a unique dining experience that doesnt break the bank, this is it.
All the drinks outstanding. Dim sum was solid and the mains excellent. Duck tacos and Shanghai noodles fantastic. Atmosphere very cool. Would return.
Amazing atmosphere and amazing food. Very fun spot
My experience at Fus was like no other. We visited on Saturday Oct. 28th. Halloweekend. Our bartender was dressed as Merman from SpongeBob with his costume accentuated by a felt sea shell bra and- the cherry on top- the felt starfish taped to his nose. Our service was impeccable. I often ignored my wife to watch our Merman bartender make 2 drink simultaneously. Later in the night, the people seated beside us were making a fuss. As they refused to pay for their food, our bartender stood- felt star slipping on his nose, sea shell bra sagging after a night of slinging drinks- trying to act professionally. After our neighbors respectfully dined and dashed, our bartender returned with a smile on his face to serve us again. 10/10 would recommend.
I have had time to think and digest what happened last night and I believe everyone needs to know what happened to us. Since Fus just re-opened in another location my sister and I thought it would be a great idea to grab dinner and some drinks. I have lived in Canada for 11 years and I have NEVER had a racial confrontation incident with any manager at a restaurant before, there are subtle micro aggressions and poor services at establishments we receive from time to time based on the colour of our skin but never anything like this. The manager treated us so poorly and I want everyone to know because it was HORRIBLE !!! We had a conversation with the manager in which we narrated the miscommunication that may have happened between her usher/server after we lost a table for reseating. I tried correcting the story that she had received from her server which described us as having attacked her and attacked is the word she used. She approached us charged with her aggressive body language and undressed me and my guests, she was incredibly rude, combative and confrontational. Her body language was aggressive, her verbiage and the way she conducted herself up in my face to a point where you could tell that she was poking to try and get a reaction or rise out of us and least we react we will be called Angry Black Women . She was condescending and proceeded to tell us that, that s why there are reservations for a reason and continued to antagonize us and then later called the security on us and asked us to leave. She had the opportunity to rectify her conduct and address us in a more dignified manner like we deserve because we are human beings but she did not. You cannot offer horrible service as a manager and then expect me pay after your racist behaviour, you must be joking. Only a fool would ask us to pay for drinks after we have had a such a horrible experience. Black folks this message is for you, I would do you a disservice if I didn t warn y all. Go at your own risk and peril. P.s While I was seating having my drink waiting for my sister and friend I took a picture which captured this quote, They wanted to silence him so the information wouldn t leak . How ironic because we will not be SILENCED. If this comment gets deleted I will dedicate to reposting it every single time because no deserves to be treated like this.
My favourite place to go out and eat. The atmosphere, food, and drinks are amazing
Fus is the best place in the city for a fun dining experience. Great food, amazing drinks, the best music, all around 10/10. I especially love the Lucky tea pot, showing its a place that doesnt take itself too seriously!
Was visiting Edmonton and had heard amazing things about Fu s. They were absolutely right, great food, great atmosphere and great service. Our server was amazing and the duck tacos are my new favourite dish I think I ve ever had??? Highly recommend
A great spot for cocktails and night out with friends! The atmosphere is super cool, service is friendly and attentive and overall a unique spot in Edmonton.
Great place to eat. Nicole the manager is the best!
Definitely the best bar in Edmonton!!! The staff is absolutely incredible and makes amazing drinks! The food is equally as amazing too!! I would 100% recommend this place to anyone and everyone!
Great food, amazing drinks, even better service. A must-visit for anyone in Edmonton!
Food was amazing! Service was a bit slow. Atmosphere, drinks and food were so good. Cant wait to go back and try everything on the menu.
If you re coming here to get a great meal I d look for another place. Perhaps it was an off day in the kitchen but food came out very salty and unpleasant. Was disappointed especially after all the hype around this restaurant. However, the ambience of the restaurant was unique and pleasant.
The place is beautiful, quite the experience, and the customer services were all very great. Food, on the other hand, not so great. Portions were small, left a very salty aftertaste making me very thirsty, and prices were quite high for the size of the food. Worth going for the atmosphere and to get some nice photos, but not sure for the food. Can t have an opinion on drinks since I didn t order any.
Aesthetically, Fud repair shop is the nicest looking restaraunt in Edmonton. Filled with 90s memorabilia, static t.v. screens, red lanterns, and projected movie screens, it gives it a very retro yet modern vibe. For food I had the egg congee dip and mr chens beef bowl. The congee dip was awesome! The unique ingredients really made it a congee Ive never tasted before. I have mixed feelings about the beef bowl. It came with plenty of beef (enough to make you full) and the three day marinade was excellent. However, the tenderness of the beef left much to be desires. Alot of it was quite firm even for beef stew meat. The broth I wasnt a fan of (but thats a me problem). It does taste close to certain pho broths but without the additives. Overall a great time though and would love to try more items.
We came here because people said it was fantastic. Maybe it was an off night for service, but we saw our waitress maybe 5 times over 2.5 hours. We spent $200+ and would have bought more drinks had we had the opportunity to order them. I thought maybe it was just super busy, but there were several empty tables all night. We also watched our waitress sit around and chat with coworkers while we waited with empty drinks several times. The food was over priced. The Truffle Siu Mai are rubber meatballs, steer clear. Also, the soup dumplings had no soup. We liked the drinks but they were disappointing for the $14 cocktails that were hyped up and what we were expecting. For the Dealers choice, we got a cranberry cosmo extremely underwhelming.
We had an amazing experience here! The duck tacos were our favourite! Will be back.
We came here on a Sunday night and were told it would be 30 minutes for a table for 3. We put our name down and left. After an hour we came back and asked if there was any updates. The host said he would go set a table for us. At which point two other groups came in that he sat before us, repeatedly telling us he needed to go check and then that he would set a table for us. We expected it to be super busy after waiting so long, but once we finally got in there was only 6 tables that were sat (with most of the restaurant being empty). I feel that maybe the host was new or wasnt super great at keeping track of the tables he had sat. Then once we sat we ordered and the food was super disappointing. We ordered 5 things to share and nothing was great. The noodles were overcooked and mushy. The soup dumplings had no soup, the bao was just ground beef put into a dinner role (not bao buns). The food was mediocre but was expensive. When it was time to go we requested a bag for our to-go boxes and were given a garbage bag. This wasnt a huge deal as the waitress explained they were out of to-go bags, but the interaction with the server giving us the garbage bag just felt super awkward. We also only saw our server a few times the entire night. The restaurant is beautiful though!
Can t wait to return next week for my second visit! I could eat their dim sum every day. Indeed, I want to be Fu s Repair Shop dim sum when I grow up.
Very good food, fun drinks, cool atmosphere. Cant wait to go back. Definitely recommend making reservations so you dont have to wait
Amazing restaurant. Food was phenomenal as was the service. Will definitely be returning.
Super cool place to grab dinner and drinks with friends! The food was delicious and the drinks were just Dietary restrictions: Careful with gluten-free/gluten aware. They tried to be gluten aware but I feel like there is a high degree of cross-contamination. Not a slam on the restaurant at all, but my husband got sick eating here.
Awesome atmosphere! Fun night out. Creative dishes and cocktails.
Well, it s a vibe that s for sure! The decor and music is really awesome, so I m certain that is what keeps drawing people to try this place. We made a reservation for 5pm last night. We decided to split 4 different main courses and 2 desserts to give different things a try. The food was good, but not exceptional. I highly suggest you skip the dessert all together. They also had a few things on the menu unavailable, and ran out of ingredients as we were there claiming a menu turn over next week. Since we were out celebrating we added cocktails to the mix. Very small, and on the pricey side, but tasted okay. Service is what is really lacking here. We constantly felt rushed to leave by our server, even though when she would check in we would order another cocktail. No where in the reservation did it say there was a time limit, so we thought hmmm, why is she wanting us to leave? We looked around several times and while busy there were still always tables free. At one point she came up and before even asking us if we wanted another drink she asked so did you want the bill seperate or together? We had been there 2 hours and said well we would like one more drink please. When she came back after that drink she told us we now had 15 mins to finish up as someone else needed our table. Yet she took more than 15 minutes to bring us the machine to pay, and when we walked out NO ONE was waiting for a table. Not to mention that once again we walked by empty tables. We finished our night out at a Brewery which we felt much more welcomed at. Really disappointed, as we drove from out of Town to support them.
Went there recently with friends! What an amazing place! I want to go back, it was so, so good, and the restaurant concept is immaculate. I really loved the speak-easy vibes from the hidden entrance to the restaurant, and the way it looked inside? It was beautiful. The food was also exceptional, the dim-sum was delicious and I wish there were more soup dumplings in each order. We also tried the rotating bao and it was the fried tofu with matcha, it shouldnt work but it did, I cant recommend them enough. The noodles were also amazing, we tried the Cha-sui noodles, and Mr. Chens beef bowl. All I can say is that theyre flavour bombs, in the best way. We also got the green onion cakes and they were surprisingly huge! Really good with the chilli oil. I also enjoyed the cocktail I got, the butterfly tea sour, really delicious.
This place is a must if you like great food drink atmosphere and service. It was wow wow.
Great experience from the host to servers and to their food and drinks. Were definitely coming back for more date nights
What can I say about this cool little hidden spot downtown. Well its awesome. The staff was friendly. Great atmosphere. The DJ that night was fire. The food was great and the fix up drinks were awesome. Great night
Absolutely loved the food and everything. Only thing for me is the music was a little intrusive on the experience in my opinion.
