Horrible restaurant...

This place is so beautiful. Its a shame when they close the curtains though because it destroys the look of the place completely I was so dissapointed when I brought people and it didnt look the same

Food was almost inedible. Was dead and food was slow.

My kid wants everyone to know they have the best fries. We went before the game and the service was fast. The London Fog was lacking flavour but the calamari was really good. The pizza crust is great. Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu

Our waitress was very nice and treated us as best she could! They were short staffed though so it was hard for her to keep up. The food was very okay. The space was pretty cool though with giant glass walls looking out over a nice skating rink. Overall wouldnt go back unless someone else wanted to go. Parking: Parking under the building is a little pricey, but very easy to access the restaurant from there!

We took our family here for dinner. The staff was great, very accommodating, which we really appreciated as parents with young kids. We will definitely go back.

A beautiful spot! The atmosphere is fabulous! Our server Karen was amazing! The food, super delicious!!! Highly recommend! My husband says, best calamari he s ever had! Truffle fries omg soooo good! I orded Fettuccine pasta. The taste was very very bad... and have to eat it with a spoon and never need a fork. I told the manager about this, but she didnt respond appropriately, and I told her to take another action, but she was blunt and unkind without saying sorry. I dont want to waste such a high price on a cheap service again.

Had an enjoyable and lovely weekend brunch with a friend. Service was great and food was delicious. I highly recommend the Dutch Baby skillet!

Absolutely awful. Buckle in folks, this place deserves 0 stars but I ll give 1 because there s no 0 option. We ignored what should have been the first red flag. This place was empty on an otherwise bustling Saturday night. Every other restaurant in downtown had waitlists. This place was virtually empty. I think just 3 tables were occupied with unhappy patrons but other than that, it was a ghost town. We started off this nightmare experience by ordering a bottle of wine. Simple enough. Well they brought the wrong bottle of wine out. A less expensive wine, because they ran out of the wine we ordered. We pointed out the error and it was brushed off. When asked if this wine is the same price, the server stated yea same price , which makes no sense. Sounds like the server was just making stuff up. so we decided to order another bottle instead. Server took the order and came back AGAIN with a wrong bottle. We decided to have mercy on her and just accepted this wrong bottle. We had to open the bottle ourselves, due to the server not knowing how to uncork a bottle. After our first sip, we realized it was warm . We didn t want to create more of an issue and just accepted the warm wine. I tried to order some pepperoni pizza but was informed that they ran out of dough . I ordered something else off the menu but then when the food was brought out they must ve found dough somewhere in the back because they brought out the pepperoni pizza. Lastly, at the end of the night I ordered my favourite dessert Affogato (ice cream + espresso). I got a scoop of ice cream without the espresso! I asked the server why I didn t get espresso and her response was because most people don t like espresso. Like what?!?! Why wouldn t I just get ice cream then?! I asked for the espresso and she told me the espresso machine was off and could not be turned back on. Then I asked for a refund at which point she talked to her manager and the espresso was eventually brought out at which point my ice cream had already melted . I talked to the manager to express my disappointment and he took my name and number to perhaps make me feel a bit better. Worst experience ever! Stay away!

We were looking for an early Dinner out. Braven wasn t open quite yet so we thought we d give Kindred a try. We weren t disappointed. The food was exceptional! The service was equally fantastic. Italian food at its finest. We were incredibly happy to have decided to give Kindred a try. Servers and hostess were friendly and professional. The server was meticulous in table etiquette, lining up glasses and plates. The atmosphere was still very relaxed and casual. Highly recommend! We will be back.

Best seafood soup Ive have salmon cioppino salmon was excellent

We were there before a hockey game and allowed lots of time for dinner before the game but the server was clueless. Slow service and terrible food. I m a vegetarian and they were out of the kale salad . I ordered another salad and it was $19 for a few tomatoes and some cheese. Definitely will not be back. Total rip off.

This is a lovely place to spend time on a weekend, pre-game, or anytime; lots of light entering the restaurant, it has a nice view of the ICE plaza, and the menu has more of an Italian fusion which is nice and different from what you find in other restaurants in the plaza. Service wise wasn t bad; it could be better. While we were there, there were not many people, yet we felt rushed even though we wanted to spend more time and perhaps other drinks

Game night. The place was quiet when we arrived 3 hours prior to puck drop, but was quite busy and bustling when we left 2 hours later. Food was delicious. Tyler, our server, was fantastic! A little on the pricey side and they didnt have any drink specials on which was disappointing as their drinks are fairly expensive. But other than that, it was a great experience with the absolute best location to Rogers to grab a bite to eat before a game.

Had a very important dinner at Kindred with some elaborate planning involved. Sydney the hostess and Taylor the server were absolutely crucial in helping my dinner surprise go off perfectly for my special guest and we had a great night thanks to the great food, great service, and the sneaky surprise that Sydney and Taylor helped pull off. 10/10 would recommend.

I have to thank the Kindred staff for going above and beyond by helping us celebrate my coworkers birthday! They made the day extra special!

Nice place for a quick lunch. It s right in the Marriott and very close to Braven. My only knock against it would be that it s fairly expensive for what you get, but the food was great and the service was fantastic.

Im just so picky about the food! It didnt have a great after taste?! And drink could have been much better! Still I recommend it for atmosphere!

A late lunch on a chilly day. Warm welcome, quick service, and attentive staff. I chose the short rib cornetto with side salad. The salad was fresh and the dressing a beautiful vinaigrette. The cornetto was absolutely superb with melt in your mouth beef, a beautiful salsa verde, and the perfect amount of melted cheese. Thank you Kindred for warming this cold day!

Googled brunch places and found Kindred - came for Breakfast/Brunch, sat down and was told they don t offer it.

Online it says it offers breakfast/brunch, nevertheless that s not the case. Please, remove your brunch menu photos if you don t offer it. It wasted my time.

The waiter male dark haired thick rimmed glasses asked me if I was Muslim when I asked for an alcohol free cocktail. He was so inappropriate. He told me he was asked if he wanted a happy ending after getting a massage. I gave him zero indication that I wanted to talk about any of these topics . So cringy!

We decided to check this place out before a hockey game due to the proximity to Rogers Place and as a spot we hadnt been before. We ordered the bread starter, I had the hoagie and my wife had the chicken Parm. For some reason it never really clicked for me that this was an Italian restaurant prior to going in, but theyre not really explicit about that. Guess I should have looked at the menu more closely. I didnt see the chicken pot pie and fish and chips, but maybe thats just on the lunch menu? The bread was probably the best part, honestly. The ricotta truffle dip was great, but I didnt much care for the sun-dried tomato tapenade. The bread to dip ratio was also way off & they were going to take the mostly uneaten dip away, and when I asked for more bread this seemed like an unusual request for some reason. I also would have kept the dip either way (to dip my fries in.) They did bring some crustinis though, which was appreciated. & As for the fries - not great! Maybe they were made in house, but I suspect they most likely were from frozen. Not what you would expect at this price point in my opinion. The lack of decent fries in YEG is a pet peeve of mine. Such an easy, cheap way to elevate the experience. The hoagie itself was okay. Again the bread was really good but the sandwich overall was just kind of bland. Nothing exceptional. I tried my wifes Parm as well and it was just okay too... the spaghetti was kind of mushy and it seemed under-seasoned. Beer menu was also very small. Overall - kind of disappointed considering what the bill was. The service was good though, no complaints there. Its also a cool location looking out at the Ice District and outdoor rink.

Kindred is the spot that gets me ready for the next part of my day - working in the JW lobby and meeting clients. The open concept with natural light is a welcome departure from other restaurants in Edmonton. The customer service is very welcoming, and its hard to find in Edmonton. Absolutely enjoy the salmon fillet and the spaghetti and meatballs. Angela, Angelica, and Sydney are amazing at Kindred. Thank you for making it a wonderful place to eat, work, and meet colleagues.

Setting is nice. Staff are always very accommodating and friendly. However prices are high for the quality and fairly basic items, and last time I went they were out of my first two choices with a fairly limited menu offering.

Im sure the new menu is good. EXTREMELY disappointed that they took away breakfast. Was my favorite place to eat .

Want cheese on your everything? This is the place! Bew menu is awesome, staff is great, drinks are delicious and the restaurant is new, vibrant and a fabulous place for a night out. Vegetarian options: Eggplant parmesean Parking: Parking is expensive downtown but there are lots of parking in the area. Wheelchair accessibility: Kindred is in the hotel and has all accesibility to the hotel, restaurant and Rogers place

The service was ok. The leek and potato soup was overly salty for my taste so I downgraded to a 4 star. The caprese salad was good but small. The drinks and service at the bar were better - might have just been because we got stuck by changing service at shift change.

The waiter was decent - slightly sparse service throughout. My dish was mediocre at best. The atmosphere was quiet and un-lively, which was odd for a downtown restaurant smack dab in the middle of the ICE district.

I like this place and I might come again

We had our company year-end party at Kindred last weekend and the quality of service we received was exceptional. From the planning process to the day of the event, their team has been very attentive and made our event a success. Our compliments go out to the Chef Jason Greene and his incredible team: Bryan, Angela, Hannah, Britney, Katrina, Nick, Louis and Tyler. Thank you for the amazing food and service and for making sure each of our guests had a wonderful time. We highly recommend Kindred to anyone looking for a venue for their next event!

Great service! Had a great view of the ice district. (Very cool at night). The food was great! You can taste the fresh ingredients that are used. We were there on a game night so it was busy and pretty loud but we could still chat comfortably with yelling. Perfect location for a pre game meal and drinks.

Loved my experience at Kindred! The service was top notch and they made me feel very welcome! Isabel was awesome to deal with and the rest of the staff were wonderful as well! Ordered the apple stuffed French toast which was incredible! Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and will definitely be going back very soon!

First time out in just over a year since Covid and the lockdowns and, I had a great time! The food was amazing, the service was even better. It was super clean, you could see the staff actively cleaning as tables were finished and departing. Everyone was super friendly and cheerful. Just a great, welcoming vibe. Isabel, (our server) was super nice, very knowledgeable, quick and efficient. I cant wait to go back. Definitely in my top 3 restaurants to go to in Edmonton! Highly recommended

We had the pleasure of staying at the marriot this weekend. We are making a move from our acreage life to downtown living and are considering the legends since it s a dog friendly facility. We put that to the test on our first day bringing Thanos our dog with us. Everyone here was so awesome. That s not to mention the delicious avocado toast and eggs Benedict, or the velvety smooth cappuccinos! They were so nice to Thanos, they brought him water bowls. They didn t stare at us the whole time like they were annoyingly obliged to a dog friendly expectation from management. They seemed to be genuinely excited to work in a place that allows dogs. There was a young man there who was in the military for 15 years and found a career with the hotel. He was very kind and accommodating to us and helped us when we made a mistake in our braven reservation. (A dining room in the same building- also worth a visit!) The food was great, and everything there is meticulously clean and well appointed. Every detail was taken into consideration for service and comforts. The screens were playing soccer, hockey and other highlights and were well placed. The seats were comfortable for long conversation and everything was well lit. I just loved our breakfast here and so did Thanos. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a breakfast after a morning dog walk or a guest of the hotel.

Blend and bad service. Staffs are so unprofessional so was the management. This place doesnt stand up to its reputation they claim to be. What a shame for such new spot for Edmonton. The quality of food is nothing better than coras breakfast . Waste of money.

Came to Kindred before the Oilers game last night (Jan. 14) and was blown away by the food, service, and overall ambience or mood of the place. I will definitely be stopping here more regularly before hockey games.

I had the Avacado on Toast with 2 poached eggs.... it was way better then I thought it would ve been. Arnel, my waiter was fantastic, you should try eating here if you have the chance

This place has awesome food!!! Its absolutely delicious!! The service is top notch, the staff is very friendly and quick to serve you. I had the avocado toast and it was the best I have ever had, it was so good. I also had the breakfast that comes with bacon and sausage etc, it was delicious. This place is awesome if youre looking for a good brunch. Really good drinks and mimosas too.

I was very disappointed in my experience at Kindred. The food was just okay but my biggest complaint was the service. The food did not come out at the same time, people finished their meals before the others even received their food. And when ask about how long the food would take the server was very rude and for those reason I would not be returning.

Amazing, bright and open space with food as equally bright and appealing.

Made a lunch reservation and waited close to an hour for our meal. While water was frequently poured Im not sure its an appropriate place for those that need to get back for a meeting downtown.

Friendly service, great spot of a bite, modern but welcoming interior. The large floor to ceiling windows bring in a lot of natural light. The menu has something for everyone, all very well presented and tasted great. Long table available which is great for big groups. Servings are generally quite generous.

Interesting menu with a ton of variety, but none of the three dishes (pictured) we ordered quite hit the spot. I feel like Kindred might be a jack of all trades but master of none. Feels more like a nice social spot in the ICE District than for the amateur foodie.

Dinner and service was great! Highly recommend the garden party cocktail.

The fish tacos were flavourful and the perfect amount of spice. The vodka rigatoni was good, but nothing spectacular. We were sitting at a long table with a hole down the middle, so it was very difficult to share appetizers amongst 6 people (we had the bannock bread basket, cauliflower, and edamame), as the plates were close to sliding between the gap of the table. While the food was good, the ambiance of the restaurant was pretty awful. We were there on a Friday night & the lights were on BRIGHT. It was so bright that it almost felt like we were eating in a cafeteria. This completely ruined the experience for us -- it didnt feel comfortable or cozy in any way & definitely didnt encourage us to stay & enjoy the evening. Very strange! Hope they can put the lights on dimmers, as Im sure it would encourage more people to come back.

Came for lunch with a coworker. For some reason it took nearly 10 minutes it felt like for someone to ask us what we wanted to drink or eat. Once we did have a server, our food came out fast and tasted great. The chicken pot pie was very tasty as was the daily smoothie.

Welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast, lunch, and even the food to grab and go was very well done. The Chicken pot pie is a definitely Must-Try. Kyles P.s team continues to deliver great hospitality and service. GM Jun came himself to welcome us for a Birthday meal. Great experience, will definitely be back A+++

My friends and I went to Kindred for my birthday and it was spectacular! Great food and service and so accommodating for such a large group! I didn t get our servers name but he served a large group on September 16th at the long table and he was wonderful! Drinks + food were affordable and tasted amazing! The space is bright and beautiful for pictures as well as a happy and light atmosphere!

What a lovely supper we had at Kindred Food+Drink last night. Our server Hannah and her male colleague working at the front (sorry, I did not get his name) were both so attentive and accommodating. They asked if we were there to celebrate an event and I told them we are celebrating life in general and that my friends birthday is in 2 weeks. We ordered the combo where you chose 1 appetizer, 1 main and you get a cookie for dessert. The portions were big and hearty! The food was not only visually appealing but very tasty. They surprised us with a slice of cake with a candle for my friend. What a sweet gesture! It was a great experience all around. We will definitely be back! They have game night and happy hour specials that would be great for a night out in downtown Edmonton.

I enjoyed the sunset view out the floor-to-ceiling windows. The mushroom empanadas and Kindred Cobb Salad were unique and fantastic. The El Chapo was my favourite artisan cocktail. The kitchen wasn t receptive to accommodating requests but every thing else was very good.

Expensive for the quality. Poor service. Nice atmosphere.

Work lunch with a large group. Food was okay, the service was very, VERY slow (with no acknowledgement of the wait), the space felt awkward (loud, bright, squished). Underwhelming, especially for the price and location. I wont be going back.

I would not eat here again. Only half of our table got their food at a time. 3 people (including the birthday girl) were left waiting for their meal, while the rest of the table had finished their food already. I was never asked again if I wanted another drink (I only had 1 glass of wine). Once my husband got his meal, he was very disappointed. Pirogies were under seasoned, and the steak sandwich was over done and soggy. Our bills took forever. My husband had ordered the meal where he was supposed to get an appy, main and dessert. He was never given his dessert.

This restaurant builds the perfect ambiance for a stay-cation. Sitting in the dining room with the high cieling, cute decor and lots of simple but elegant details....you feel like you might be brunching in NYC....maybe LA. The avocado toast looked almost too beautiful to eat, perfectly sliced, sitting on a bed of cucumbers and smeared with garlic hummus, fresh sour dough and decorated with fresh baby tomatoes and swirls of rainbow carrots. It was delicious. My friends Chia Seed pudding also looked incredible. Definitely check this place out if you are downtown. Located on the ground level of the JW Marriott hotel.

Took my parents for breakfast. Waiter didnt help much. He didnt come and check our table even once. Meals came separately and waiter forgot to bring an order until I realized it was missing and had to flag it. I felt the waiter didnt know what he was doing. Food was okay. Im sorry for JW Marriott loosing reputation for this location.
