Relaxed, cheerful standby offering a variety of classic Chinese dishes like noodles & rice plates.
Honestly, I was inebriated when we ate here so perhaps my review doesn't hold the grounds it should. Either way, this is some of THE BEST Chinese food I have ever eaten in the city. The woman who served us was amazing, happy and glad we were there. The food came out fresh, not under a heat lamp for hours. Every dish was packed with flavor. Very filling to say the least and the price was on par. only down fall, The location is rather shotty but sometimes you have to go off the beaten path to find those hidden Gems. Plus they are open very late. If we are in the area again we will be stopping in.
Easily my Favourite place to eat Chinese Food. Always fresh & Delicious. I was greeted as I entered, & thanked when I left. Very Family Staff. One of the staff my wife & I look for is, Winnie. Always wearing a smile. Smart & kind, too. Highly recommend her and All Happy Family Restaurant! +10
Ordered $50 worth of food through skip - Dinner combo for 1 and large war wonton soup. Was 1 container and 2 medium for a "large" soup. Taste is good but portions are highly lacking.. I have recieved twice as much, same quality, Chinese food from other restaurants. Unless there is a drastic change in portion size or decrease in price this will probably be my one and only time with All Happy Family.
This place is a hidden gem 💎 We’ve been coming to this restaurant for a while now and it never disappoints. Yes, the location isn’t ideal—there are a lot of homeless people around, but don’t let that scare you off. Once you step inside, you’re greeted with some of the warmest hospitality in the city. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. And the food? Absolutely fantastic. Every dish is always fresh, hot, and bursting with flavor. Whether it’s the crispy spring rolls, the perfectly seasoned fried rice, or their amazing stir-fried dishes, everything is top-notch. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. Service is fast, efficient, and done with a smile. We’ve been to a lot of restaurants, but this one stands out not just for the food, but for the consistently wonderful experience. If you can get past the rough surroundings, you’ll find an incredible spot that’s well worth the visit. Highly recommend this hidden gem!
Ordered the Cantonese chow mein off of Uber and never again this is not what you guys serve in house. You did not follow instructions on the only vegetables that I wanted in there were carrots, corn, and broccoli… Still got bok choy, but for some reason, they decided to take all the meat out… Once again, this isn’t even the Cantonese chow mein They serve in house on the crispy noodles, very disappointed, and when I called, you, blamed me. Just lost a 15 year customer.your job to contact customers if you don’t understand the notes. I did not say no meat or seafood wth? Even the dumplings were not the same you serve in house. Sad dinner ruined.
Had the chicken Shanghai noodles, green onion cakes and pork spring rolls. Food was absolutely delicious. The young girl that helped was super nice and the older woman was sweet, and, after I paid I left a small tip and she gave me a free pop! It wasn't even a huge tip or anyrhing so it was a very nice gesture. This was my first time here and will certainly be back!
I live in Calgary and whenever I go to Edmonton this is the restaurant I always wanna visit. Their food is amazing, great taste and great service, whether I dine in or get delivery it's always consistent. The dish that keeps me from coming back and that I always get is their beef brisket hot pot! It's honestly one of the best things I've had in my life, it's juicy, tender and very flavourful. Another thing I recommend is their dimsum! Their menu is pretty extensive and you can't go wrong with anything here, honestly everything I've tried from this restaurant is great and they're not skimpy on their portion sizes either. One of the best Chinese food I've had by far.
We had the war won ton soup and the BBQ pork steam bun and they were made fresh to order!! Always had good food experiences from here for years. I will keep recommending.
What kinda person ask so for a tip when they deliver your food and when you say no they get mad at you and start swearing I will never order from them again Im diiscusted
Food
These people that work here gave the worst service, did not make anyone feel welcome to even eat there. Food was a scam, very salty not worth the $50 I spent.Waitress told me I can pay only with cash when clearly the signs all over the place say you can pay with debit or cash. I d rather go to any other Chinese restaurant than to come back here and be treated less than a human being.
This is a household favourite go-to at least once per month. Vegetarian options: Extensive menu Dietary restrictions: Staff are willing to accommodate; my roommates have an onion allergy. Food gets made without onion, no problem. Parking: Its within the inner city, take sensible normal precautions and do not linger by your vehicle. Kid-friendliness: Family restaurant with a wide mix of people
Best Chinese food
This restaurant nowadays isn t good , it s getting worse day by day . We used to come here for dinner sometime because it wasn t that bad before. the foods are served lesser than before, the service is terrible. They don t even let you have time to enjoy with your family.
The WORST chinese food Ive ever had. Ordered from here only because of what seemed like good reviews. No way. The spicy crispy chicken was so greasy and with way too much batter; the spicy black pepper beef was undercooked, bland, and you couldnt even find a fleck of black pepper; the singapore noodles smelled and tasted like something had soured or gone past expiry date; and I found some kind of foreign object that looked like a fingernail in the beef. So gross. Threw it all out and I have never done that to chinese food before. It wasnt worth either the scenic view you have to take to get to the front door. Drug addicts, smell of urine on the wet sidewalk, scary place...thank goodness a security guard was there. Never again.
What happened in the last year? The extra wheat based filling in your Shu mai is very upsetting. the lack of dough on the pan fired pork dumplings. I fear for when I try to order fried intestine, or jellyfish & pork hock now that I got back in town. This was the best place in the city, I hope it comes back, please just raise the price a few $. Id rather that than the quality decreased
Food poisoning (throwing up) hours just after eating their food. Normally theyre good but this time no
They charged my card 3 times for 100 dollars and cancelled my order.
Had delivery wonton soup egg roll n chow main 36 bucks n little bowl of soup, egg roll empty , n chow main had nothing to it onions m noodles
We ordered delivery after finding some great reviews on Reddit and Google. Unfortunately tonight the food was some of the worst Chinese orders I ve ever had. Everything tasted like it had sat out all day. The rice was goopy with not an hint of being fried, the ginger beef was hard as a rock. Even the chicken balls were barely sauced. The portions were low too, for a meal that cost $78 with delivery. (Meal for 4)
tried to order from this place through uber eats but my connection wasn t working so i phoned them and they were very helpful and took my order over the phone and delivered in less than an hour at 2 am and delivery person was very nice and helpful waited for me to come downstairs. food is delicious!! arrived very hot too!
One if the worst delivery chicken chow meinhad a chicken bone in it and no soya sauce with order , pork and shrimp dumplings had no shrimp theres more but whats the point I wont order there again
They sent me the wrong order. Then I started to eat it and the chicken tasted sour. And when I called to tell them, I was hung up on even though I was being very nice. Ill never order from there again
Wonderful place to go. They have been open and welcoming to a late night crowd for a very long time. Im happy to see that their service is still fantastic and restaurant full.
The food was excellent! Service was good and quick. Its unfortunate that the location suffers from homelessness issues but dont let it stop you from visiting, we left all happy! Food
Great!
The restaurant itself is not located in the best area of downtown and can be pretty sketchy. The food is to die for, and the portions are satisfying and of great value. The restaurant is older, but lets be honest. Aside from it being an older restaurant, all the people who work for the restaurant are super kind and always welcoming I have literally driven from other provinces just to get me some All Happy Family Restaurant. Thank you all Happy for all your years of dedication and service providing some of the best food around. Vegetarian options: Im pretty sure they have vegetarian options as most of the foods have vegetables... So I think it comes down to ingredients and preparation, which Im sure if you inquire, they could point you in the right direction of vegetarian options included in the menu. Dietary restrictions: Let them know your dietary restrictions, and Im sure they would be more than happy to help accommodate. Parking: There is a parking lot behind the restaurant as well as street parking. Keep in mind there is a surge in homelessness in the city, and the shelter is located close by, so take caution as there is heavy foot traffic in the area. Kid-friendliness: I have children of various ages and they are always welcome just like any other customers. Wheelchair accessibility: Im not sure about the front entrance. But Im pretty sure the rear entrance located in the back from the parking lot is wheelchair accessible.
First time in all happy family restaurant Great food Clean place Also friendly people Food : 5/5 |
not good customer service especially when you say something didnt taste correct . Wont be back
Best late snack, if youre craving chinese food
Ordered a combo meal . As for the wonton soup , I have better synthetic broth at home . Chicken ball batter was too thick and bland, chow mein was oily and tasted burnt , fried rice was sad . Asked for cutlery and hot sauce , received neither . Better selections and flavors in a food court . Dont order from here
Even while drunk I found this meal to be pretty bad. The fried rice was bland, the ginger beef was soooo sweet and soggy. The chicken balls were tough yet undercooked. The only saving grace was the hot and sour soup.
The pepper beef was a bit salty to my liking and Peking pork chop wasn t fresh and crisp was soggy and beef chow fun didn t have enough wok heat this restaurant has been my favourite since young and the portion size is shrinking as well
Just ordered a dinner for one for take out. I paid over 20 dollars for my meal. I got a smattering of rice and some ginger beef! Rediculouse! Also there was several people outside the building passed out from alcohol or drugs. There was a guy taking a pee right in the building outside. I didnt want to leave my dog in the truck so I immediately went out and stayed with her. Never again
Late night eat
TINY PIECES OF GLASS IN my minced shrimp & pork dumpling literally as i chew, every bite down i hear it crushing, i spit it out and there was glass pieces not just one. they refunded me for it and said sorry. the server didn t even seem fazed.
Always huge smile and greeting when we enter. Tried on a whim one time and absolutely enjoyed it.
Best Chinese food, eat here all the time
I spent $120+ dollars on a 4 item meal and got $50-60 dollars worth of food. Portions are half the size they were. Disappointed and ripped off. Bring that I m a 25+ year customer of this restaurant, It s surprisingly shocking to see the portions and quality go downhill. They are ripping people off and when I called to complain they didn t care at all about my concerns or the fact that their restaurant has garbage, filth and homeless encampments with cravkheads everywhere. Will find another place to spend my hard earned money in the future.
Tasteless food, dirty location, way too expensive for the low quality products they use, you can eat cheaper and better food at any mall food court Chinese food.
Id give none if possible. Once order. Thought ok. Maybe bad time. Nope everything bad everytime
I was extremely disappointed with the temperature of the food instead of being freshly made to me it seemed they had the rice , beef n mixed greens kept in a pot . The food was all luke warm & ontop of that the Asian waitress out of the blue called me a Pig only because I complained about the temperature of the food and had a full plate . I told her that is very rude to call a first time customer that name. I also did not care for her standing by the doorway pretending to be watching the homeless people outside but in reality she was watching my friend & I eat . This is so extremely rude not giving customers some privacy while they are eating. I could not believe there prices for a plate of beef n mixed greens , steamed rice ,sweet n sour pork , pitcher of water, green tea . The bill came out to be $44 & what pissed me off was the sweet n sour pork was only deep fried hatter with the sweet sauce, onions, green peppers but hardly any meat. I have ordered sweet n sour pork from other Chinese restaurants which there was fair amount of meet but never ever seen deep fried. I also at the beginning asked for ice cold water to which it wasnt only a hand full of ice with room temperature water in the pitcher then I asked the server to put more ice in the pitcher of water to make it colder. This is 100% not satisfied for temperature of the food , the server , prices. I will never go there again & do not & will not reccomend anyone to go here ever.
The food is yummy, but the price doesnt match the quantity , the steam rice is a bit on the pricy side given the portion amount. Been to good buddy, they have more steam rice for less money. Same goes for the portions of meat. The customer serves is very attentive to providing refills, but it feels rushed when you ask questions about their food. Theres room for improvement and better fair service
One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Edmonton, but one of the WORST Chinese restaurants in town for value for dollar. As other reviewers have noted, prices have risen sharply. $18 for 6 chicken wings is absolutely insane. There are way too many other great Chinese places in the area to be paying this much for similar food, plus the street is always full of junkies. Not worth it anymore.
Great late night place to get some good Chinese. Peach shrimp was amazing Food
It s so hard to find restaurants that do a later night delivery but I m so grateful I called All Happy Family. The service was so incredibly friendly, quick delivery and food was amazing. Thank you!!!
This place is F awesome
Great place with amazing customer service and quality customer service
Worst sweet and sour pork I ever taste, no taste at all and I don t know what kind of colour they use on the food because after I finish eating my finger turn to yellow and I can t erase it by washing my hand with soap, worst experience
I love the deep fried garlic chicken!
I was awesome
My family ordered all happy for our Mother s Day dinner, and the restaurant forgot one of our dishes. We called all happy to let them know, and instead of showing remorse they denied that we ordered the extra dish. We had the receipt as proof, and tried to calmly explain the error, and recieved a very rude response. After the turmoil we decided to bring the food back and get a full refund. When we reached the restaurant with receipt proof they became apologetic and said they had confused us with someone else! But that didn t excuse the way we were treated on the phone. P.s when we called back with the error we had confirmed our address for them so they knew exactly what order was being spoken about
All happy family restaurant is always good, especially late night. After having a few drinks out with the girls they stay open quite late. The only downfall is the area that it is in. Unfortunately, a lot of homeless people make the atmosphere quite scary to park and walk in. Otherwise everything was great.
First time again after a while but the good was good
Pains me to say but after 15 years of exclusively using all happy for takeout, I just cant anymore. The prices are becoming outrageous, it feels as if the are passing on the cost of the derelict building onto their customers. The food is still excellent but 18$ for 6 shrimp is just too far. Also its a coin flip know if your car will be damaged, 2 homeless people fighting in front of my car and I didnt feel comfortable leaving my kid in the car for 30 seconds looking out the window the entire time. Im sorry, it was a great run.
Ordered on skip. Not terrible , some good, but very inconsistent. I ate untill I was full, but wont order again. Ginger beef was kinda chewy, mooshy. Sweat sour pork tastey, but some pretty inedible pieces Singapore noodle really unevenly distributed spices. Ribs, some were good, but many were way over battered. Egg rolles were soggy, watery, didnt eat. High prices for not enough quality.
Great
I ordered off Uber Eats. The ginger beef was inedible. Every piece I tried to eat but one was unchewable gristle. I actually choked on my first piece and had to physically remove it from my throat with my hand in order to unblock my airway. I attempted carefully to eat more after that and discovered the whole dish was a choking hazard. Beyond upset with this.
RACIST!!! I ve been there a few times and today I went there with 2 others to dine in, first of all the welcoming wasn t warm, they literally ignored us and attended to the other white folks, after I saw someone attend to them I thought they were coming to us after but instead the grandma went over there and was having a full blown conversation with them whilst the other 2 servers were giggling and cackling until I got up to ask if we could be attended to and then she came and had the audacity to be rude, I asked for shrimp fried rice extra spicy as usual and this human being charged me extra $3 for extra spicy, never ever got charged for that there so it was an attempted attack because she foolishly even told us we could go somewhere else after I said I was leaving because of the ill treatment, that was too rude and I definitely expressed myself.
Great food and great service. Do not let the neighborhood affect your visit. If nothing else, order through a delivery service to support their commitment to great food.
I love that shrimp wonton
Food is very tasty and they serve as fast as they can. Crowded with lot of materials in and around. The washrooms needs more facilities and quality. Cleanliness is a big challenge here. All the seat cushions need immediate replacement. Sometimes the odour and smell is horrible. Urgent remake is needed for the furniture. Crowded with advertisement materials. This restuarent needs immediate remoulding due to cleanliness issue.
Ive heard good reviews on this place in the past so I decided to try it, nn Saturday Feb 17 I ordered Cantonese chow mein, S&S pork, steamed rice and pork dumplings. Now the woman that answered the phone was great, she was friendly and accommodating so it was off to a good start. I ordered it for pick and surprised and a little worried the food would be ready in only 10 mins. So I picked up my order and went home. When opened it I was extremely disappointed and upset actually. The Chow mien was nothing more then noodles and soy sauce. There was like two broccoli in it, barley any meat. 90% of it was just noodles. The pork dumplings were dry and looked like they had been in the over all night, also I only got 6 shriveled up hard dumplings. The steamed rice was fine and the S&S pork was average. Sadly I will have to say I wont be returning here and feel like for almost a $60.00 meal I was ripped off. Honestly Ive had better Chinese food from the food court at the mall. Ive heard this place has been around for many years and once had really good reviews but from my experience it was the worst Ive had in a long time. Sorry guys I dont usually write reviews but Im so disappointed with the food I got from here Im compelled to write this and warn others to keep your money and give it to a place that deserves it and puts quality into the food.
Food always good and consistent here. Love the employees here. Sketchy neighbourhood
Very sad !!!!! The server was very rude , dont know how to treat customers throwing food at the table. Found 2 hairs in our dish. One of the male old server came to us and throw ketchup on our table . They need to learn how to treat customers all the reviews are bots or either their friends I guess. Its a place where filled with junkies and unhygienic restaurant. Never go here please .
Fast service with good food. Very nice staff also
Was cold and over priced
First time at the restaurant. My brother and I decided to grab lunch and wanted Asian food. We ate in and ordered Ginger Beef, Shanghai Pork Noodles, Spring Rolls and a Wonton Soup to share. It was superb. Portions are adequate and had to take some home. I will eat at this spot again despite the area.
Weve ordered from here twice now and both times everything we ordered was just DELICIOUS! Best green onion cakes we have ever had, the chicken chow mein and garlic fried rice are so so good! We also ordered the ginger beef and beef and broccoli which were also great! And last but not least, we also got the chicken balls. I dont usually like chicken balls but these ones were wonderful! We have definitely found our favourite Chinese takeout in Edmonton
im in the hospitality industry, hence my now comment. appearance is important to me and how utensils are handled. the food was 5/10 and the customer service was a 3/10. i do not recommmend dinning in. the waiters fingers were not clean and his hands were all over my straw and utensils they stood close talking while not serving me. Total experience 4/10. Vegetarian options: Very wide range of options Kid-friendliness: Seems kid friendly
My favorite Chinese spot in the city, the salted fish chicken fried rice is a banger. Unfortunate that the area is so dangerous to visit otherwise I would come more often. If you can brave the walk from your car to the restaurant, definitely worth the visit.
Late night chiniese Food open till 2am enough said
Little surprise restaurant. Best Chinese food I have had in Edmonton to date
best Chinese in town
best chinese food in the city and the service is really good except the lady at the cashier is always mean likeee????!!! im just tryna pay miss gurrll
Awesome best chinese food in etown
Quoted 45 minutes for delivery. After 90 minutes, they hung up on us when we called. The driver arrived and offered us a 5 dollar discount. SERIOUSLY? my spouse is a big boy, and taking twice as long to feed the bear is not acceptable. When we advised a five dollar discount was not acceptable, THEY LEFT WITH OUR FOOD!!! ordered pizza, there in 20 minutes. Much better
Awesome food, fresh and got delivered so quickly. PS, if you re going to act like you re scared of houseless people just minding their own business, then go to a different restaurant. Food : 5/5
This is our favourite Chinese restaurant in Edmonton, and a Christmas Eve tradition. Favourites are the sweet and sour pork, and the scrambled eggs with beef! The neighborhood is a definitelyon the rougher side, but we have never had an issue. Food
Love the black bean pepper beef and peach shrimp - soooo good!!!! But dont get the wanton noodle soup - its awful!
I just ordered once, with egg fried rice, ginger beef, chicken balls and wontons. For the wonton, the portion size is particularly small. If you have tried authentic Chinese wontons, which maybe 4 yuan(approximately 0.74 dollars) for a large bowl, containing more than 10 wontons, you will find this is really expensive and unworthy. The price here is 2.5 times as much as in China on average, so just compare the prices, it is terrible. At least I thought it will be a large portion, not like this(only 5 wontons in total). And for the egg fried rice, the amount of eggs is too small and there is no salt added, which is much worce than that in China. Besides, you can check the photos, the children balls are full of flour, which is really disappointing. Maybe these food is delicious for people who are not from China, but its truly a disaster for Chinese.
Modest menu in a restaurant located in a rough part of the city. The pork Wonton soup is to die for. The other stuff we ordered was good but not great. Slightly lacking in variety but still tasty.
Ordered take out on Xmas Eve. I placed the order with 2 hours notice over the phone; lady who took my order was very polite. When I arrived they had the order ready to be picked up in a nice bio degradable bag, staff were great. All of the items were hot when we got home. Best Chinese food Ive had.
Always love going here it is My go to Chinese food place in the city . Friendly staff . Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options they will take the meat out of almost anything Dietary restrictions: They are very accommodating with peoples allergies
Food was delicious, although I would skip the green onion cakes next time. Not the worst but definitely not the best. Delivery was fast, food was hot, and servings were big I had enough for leftovers for lunch. Will have to dine in next time!
Edit: On December 25th 2023 we went to pickup food ordered on their website. Special instruction s not following for one dish due to food sensitivity and hair found in 3 other dishes fried in to the breading or tangled in the vegetables. I contacted via email and Facebook over a week ago with no response. Rough neighbourhood but we often order delivery, food always comes hot and fresh and they make the substations as requested. This is the best Chinese food in Edmonton and we will continue to support All happy!
What amazing food they serve, always a pleasure and delight to eat here, thank you
Take out, vegetables were fresh, food was hot
Awesome Chinese food.
If you order the Cantonese chow mein you will see that it has shrunk significantly in size and has no food. A once nice dish looks like a pile of mush. These owners are just thieves! Time for them to close for good! Not worth the money!
I had Uber deliver. I ordered sweet and sour pork, Wor wonton soup and green onion cake. Green onion, very good. The pork, really was mostly battered fat deep fried, nasty. The soup, little liquid, the wontons were all separated, nothing inside them. The pork in the soup was tough, hard to chew. Would not recommend this place. Never again
Enjoyed the ginger beef and chow mein during Chinatown Dining Week.
Lived in Vancouver, Edmonton and travelled around Canada and the USA. This is The Best deep fried peach shrimp I ve ever tasted.
Salty food. Served us overdue peaches (could obviously taste and smell that it had been fermenting ) in the deep fried shrimp dish. We let them know and received a disappointing response we cook this the same way every time . You may cook it the same way but it doesn t mean your ingredients are always fresh and not OVERDUE. Avoid this place.
Great food!
Loved it...great meal, lots of food, fed 3 under 50! I Recommend a visit : ) Food : 5/5
Ordered here last night for take out, and have been ordering or eating in for years. My must favorites are always peaches and shrimps, beef brisket in hot pot and soya sauce garlic chicken. The takeout service was fast after calling ahead of time. Price wise is decent, I suppose over the years prices have gone a bit up. I certainly will crave time and time again the food from here.
One of the worst service in Edmonton the order taking women is way beyond rude she didnt even care about customer concerns its highly unacceptable and highly dissatisfied. management need to work on these type of service. once you become a running good business you guys dont really care about your hospitality. pls stop these type of worst experience in the future really need to correct this. every single customer is more valuable at all the time so pls be more responsible.
This place cost a little bit more not much but the quality and the quantity of the food was way better than many other places Ive went to
This is the place for the best Chinese food!! We had ginger beef, chicken fried rice, black pepper beef, green onion cakes, and egg rolls. Everything so so good!!!
OG place for Chinese food, from one Asian to all the peeps! Well priced and well portioned and serve all my favourite traditional and more westernized Chinese dishes. They are open pretty late too so it s always an option! They are located by the hope mission and some freaky people do come by, but the server aunties are really good at handling them and escorting them out, if they come in, in the most curt and fastest way so it s really more of a people show than scary in my opinion. The gan chow niu he, stir fried flat rice noodles with beef, are so goood as well as basically any chicken dish and the beef brisket hotpot, curry or regular. Also you get this surprisingly delisciousss pork bone and vegetable soup to start for free. Do give it a try
Let me tell you, the past few times Ive been coming here the food comes out hot and fast. Very impressed with the quality of food and their speed of service.
Great food great service
Great food, fast, great price...
They should clean the place a little bit more. Vegetarian options: Greens chow mein Food : 5/5 |
WARNING DO NOT ORDER WONTONSOUP The smell is beyond off, and the color is nowhere near wonton soup colour because over half the ingredients are missing like garlic DO NOT EAT smells like something green but also like what my dead fish smelt like you can smell it as proof I do not lie
Love love love the peach shrimp... I would suggest eating it there! So dang good everytime!
Found half cooked chicken in my order. Owner refused to give me refund back. Even one of city heath inspector said this restaurant been having mice problems in the back kitchen.
It s so bad. There s an extra two dollars for splitting a single order, and there s a 2% extra for paying with visa. Stop opening restaurants and become pirates.
I ordered the Cantonese chow mein and ginger beef through Uber eats and it was truly disappointing. The chow mein tastes and smells fishy. The pork was extremely dry and tastes old. The Ginger beef does not taste like ginger beef at all has a more sour taste and way too soggy.
We had to have Happy Family when we stay in Edmonton. Food was fresh, hot and always tasty. We tried a couple new items today. Both were very good, the wok hay on the beef chow fun was in believable. Its just a smell and taste you get if you are cooking in a traditional wok using Chinese cooking techniques. I have to say we were impressed to say the least. So affordable, never fails All Happy Family rocks!
Great food for very reasonable price
Portions are small, not very tasty.
Unreal
Been a family and friend favourite for over 15 years. Best Ginger Beef in the city.
Nice Food Good Service
Always good food hot! staff very friendly
Quick, delicious , very fast. However very Rude Manager. They have no patience specially to those who are just about to explore the place. Or Do not know how to order or where to pay.
After all these years its still my number one Chinese food place. Other places are good sometimes but this place is always good. Parking: I just roll up and there is always a spot right outside and I go eat. I usually get pickup but I dine in also. Kid-friendliness: Had a 2 year old and he was loving the food. Usually he runs off but this time he just ate and told me a story about the last time he had ginger beef. Wheelchair accessibility: You can just go in. There isnt any stairs or anything.
Right next to hope mission ( women s shelter place), the whole neighbourhood looks terrible, garage everywhere, homeless people sleeps on the street We ordered shrimp wonton soup, cantonese chow mein, thousand spicy chicken, they were very salty, and service is just ok. Definitely not going back. I m done trying Chinatown. Disappointed every time!
Peach Shrimp is all you NEED to know to order from this place. Im sure everything else tastes amazing but the PEACH SHRIMP is my go too everytime
When I went to the restaurant all i thought about was how good it was! everything was so yummy and delicious and the staff was SUPER nice to me! This place is a MUST GO!
Dont know what happened to this place. Food use to be reasonable in taste and freshly cooked. Now it tastes like something u wished u never ordered or wondering what is it u are actually eating Food : 1/5
Doesnt disappoint. lovely Edmonton establishment.
Nice but expensive
Food was terrific
Food is always amazing. Ginger beef, soya sauce chow mein, vegetable spring rolls, and chicken fried rice are our go to s and they ve never failed to be amazing each time.
Our food arrived within 5 minutes of ordering. I was impressed, fastest service I ve experienced. And the food was good.
We have order in a more than a few times and have never been disappointed. Their pan fried dumplings are to die for, I am telling you now to double your order as they leave you wanting more.
DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE...For a $19.00 combo it comes with ginger beef and only 2, yes 2...non-edible chicken balls...literally hard as a rock with garbage meat.. then the rice is not even fried rice at all but just plain jasmine rice with a teaspoon of egg in it. Threw it all straight into the trash!
2020: I love chinese food and have eaten in countless chinese restaurants. This place is the best! My favorite dish is ginger beef, and it is amazing here. As with all their dishes, the portions are huge and the price very reasonable. Vegetables are fresh, chicken and shrimp are both really good as well. I am rarely downtown, and live in Sherwood Park, so if we want chinese food, we make the drive, its that good. Edit: 2023: Food quality seems to be slipping a bit. Last order had two highlights... ginger beef was its usual awesomeness, but the lemon chicken was sub par. The chicken was dry and stringy. Getting a hit and a miss in the same order is unusual. Please keep up your standards All Happy Family.
Food was prepared quickly and was top shelf. Very tasty.
Pretty impressive! Late night stop. Really happy with the decision. In town from the states and was hoping for anything at midnight. This place did not disappoint!! Mongolian Beef Lemon chicken Shrimp fried rice
I wanted to try Chinese food so i decided to come here for the first time. When i walked in the first thing i notice everyone looking at me funny but i was wondering where do i sit? because im new but when the lady sat me down she looked at me weird and uncomfortably and remember im native. I isolate myself often, so me being able to walk outside, go try new foods and to get fresh air. Once i was sat down i orderd my dish and she wanted money first and i was like umm... ok so i gave her money and my food didnt come and she also didnt come back with my money/change, so now im confused and scared theyre discriminating me i cant speak up and when i did i asked where is my change and they said they gave it back. after they said that i knew from there they were profiling me and stole my money so i left in fear of never going back to a Chinese place again. the service i experinced here was very scary and uncomfortable.
Ive been going to this restaurant for over 15 years. What started out as an economic food joint has evolved into a downtown staple for consistent enjoyable take-out and dine-in. While the prices have gone up the value for their meals is still up there. We ordered Dinner for 2 as take-out this past Sat. It seems the quality is a bit better. Wasnt too salty or oily, they give you plenty of meat and fresh vegetables. Chicken fried rice has plenty of chicken, dumplings are great, spring rolls are decent but not premium, and the sweet and sour pork was really good (notches above mall quality fair). Weve had a number of main dishes from here and you are sure to find your own favourites. The service is also consistent, with many of the same friendly staff working at the restaurant and doing delivery. We usually do take-out or pickup. The restaurant isnt in the best area of town but is perfectly fine to dine-in and many do.
The food we ordered was found to be enough for my family. It was good.
Horrible food and service
The food was horrible. Ill never order from there again
Amazing Chinese food.
If your paying separately each bill will have a 2.00 terminal fee unless your paying cash. Food was good but the restaurant is in a sketchy part of town and the restaurant could use an upgrade
The BEST Chinese food & service. Try it, do not be discouraged by the area. Food is excellent. Food
This place is great. The service and food is always great here, and hands down the best late night place to eat in the whole city of Edmonton...no kidding. The prices are as good as you find anywhere...where can 4 people eat all they want for $80 and probably take leftovers home? Atmosphere isnt the best, location is not the best, but Ive been there many nights 2-3am, and no problem. We also had them prepare food for a funeral a couple of years ago, and it was all good, on time etc.
Good late night spot for some good ol Chinese food! Quick service. Sadly location is starting to get sketchy,
Good food regardless of the area its in. Its worth going to eat.
Edmontons most diverse Chinese cuisine. They serve rich and delicious Chinesefoods. A good place to compare with Vancouver BC , which has many Chinese restaurants. Food : 5/5
Love their peaches and cream shrimp. To die for
Please do not judge all happy by the outside! Im sure its a deterrent because of all the homelessness and the filth in the area. But, you need to look past that and get inside the restaurant. The food is delicious and fresh. The price for the portion you get is fantastic. The service is impeccable.
Food is great!! Service is poor they served the main course before the appetizer. And the servers doesn t even check us for food quality. This is what happened when the servers Tips are centralized they don t even care to the customer because they know at the end of the day they have share on tips gained by the good servers.
This restaurant never disappoints, fast and friendly service. This family run business deserves your support. Whatever you order it s delicious and freshly cooked. We have had takeout but it s best to dine in. All Happy all day!!!!
Very nice portions for only 14$ for a giant portion of rice & sweet & sour pork & my friend got a mango bubble tea smoothie
Very delish food
Good food Good service
Got shrimp with udon noodles and it was decent, nothing crazy good but decent. The lady who answers the phone (in the night at least) may seem a bit inpatient on the phone but if you go in and talk to her she s really nice, even gave me a free pop cause she felt bad for being impatient on the phone lol They re pretty quick as well 5-10 mins from ordering to getting your food (although it was in the middle of the night) you should give it a try if you haven t already for sure. Vegetarian options: You can ask for any dish with just vegetables instead of any meat or fish Parking: Lots of street parking
Open late, the neighbourhood is horrendous however, and getting out of a car feels Uber dangerous, at midnight Parking: Theres a lot of tents, and some questionable temporary inhabitants. Its a different culture, and I didnt exactly blend in.
Not going to lie, barely edible chow mein. I know vegatibles and beef are expensive but add some. It annoys me as I usually get tasty food but today a stop by Lucky 97 would have been better.
All happy? Maybe the name should be All Sad, this was my first time ordering from this business and my disappointment is major, we ordered the Satay chow mein and the regular beef chow mein and we could not see or taste the difference, if only they would have been properly prepared with less oil and some vegetables it would have been decent, honestly instant noodle and some protein and vegetables at home would have been better.
I ordered thousand spicy chicken boneless, its decent but it wasnt spicy
It s a late night spot. It was fast. It hit the spot for 1am trail in. Food : 3/5
Ordered through UberEats for take out. Ginger Beef: has a nice kick and not hard at all. Perfectly cooked. But 1 container was $17.99 and the portion wasn t very big. Pork Wonton soup - container was about half the size I was expecting especially for $7.99. Came with 6 wontons. Which were really good. Broth was salty but I think it should be. There s something they put into the broth tho thar I just can t pinpoint. Didn t particularly like that but it didn t ruin the dish. Lemon chicken: I was again surprised how small the container was for $17.99. I also didn t realize they had the sauce already mixed in with the chicken. Normally Restaurants (delivery) the sauce would come separately from the chicken. When I went to mix it up the batter on the outside of the chicken started coming off. Next time I order I will ask for them separately. I found some pieces tough and but the rest of the dish was great. Green onion cake: the best green onion cake I have ever had. I don t know if it will be like that next time I order, maybe I caught them in a good night? But it s soft and delicious. Some places over cook them, blah. Over all the food was good. Food: solid 8/10 Portion size: 6/10 I know food prices are really high right now so I can t blame them for having higher prices. I also don t know what the costs on their end are. At the end of the day they still need to make a profit. I was disappointed there wasn t any fortune cookies. But this isn t the first place I have ran into that issue. One place I seen was charging for them. Overall the food was great. Personally, I would rather pay more for good food than pay less for bad food. Especially Chinese. I ll definitely be eating here again.
Amazing food and speedy service!
Always good. Always my go to late night food. Peach shrimp is awesome, salted fish fried rice best and the seafood chow mein are my go to. Delivery takes awhile when they re busy but can t blame them. Open late which is why they re so convenient !
This place has the best ginger beef in Edmonton. Super good service great staff
Was a big fan of this place till I ordered a take out to receive burnt rice. How does a restaurant decide to send burnt rice to a customer? So much for customer service it seems.
I have been dining here for over 10 years. I have to say the restaurant was never the cleanest, the chairs are so old that needs replacing. I can look past that, however now not only they raised the price of food dishes, but also want customer to pay an extra 2% for using a credit card. The quality of the food is also not as good as it used to be in the past. It will be my last time dining here.
assume..just great thank you.
