This was from 2023: Fantastic cocktails paired with delicious food. This is a must try place in Edmonton. This is from Dec 2024: WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU GUYS Success corrupts is aptly accurate for you I went with my wife and parents for dinner and drinks at 8.15 pm on a Tuesday night. We were greeted by a security guard who asked my dad, mom and wife for their ID while I was parking. WHY WOULD YOU NEED TO ID a 78 year old person walking in with family. My wife was not carrying her ID so she joked that she was 48 and did not think she would be IDed for entry (never have been in the past). A polite reply mentioning it as a policy requirement would have sufficed but the arrogant guard went on to say to my wife .... OK, prove it to me that you are 48 .... wow that attitude from a person who is fronting your business totally sucks. Rude, inappropriate and downright ridiculous. If it was policy and if you had put up a sign or a notice or a poster at the door saying we need everyone entering the place to show their ID, I would give you the benefit of doubt. But this is where it gets murky .... read on .... I reached and by then the situation was that my wife was asked to show an image of her ID on her phone. I intervened and told the guard that let me show you her ID. It was apparent from his attitude that it was not about the ID. I pretended to search for my wifes driving license on my phone, opened google, searched for an image of an Alberta license with a womans picture, enlarged it and showed it to the guard. He barely looked at the image for 1 second and with amazing alacrity found her ID to be OK. THIS IS WHERE I AM 80% sure it is not about the ID. He then proceeds to ask me for my ID and I show him my license. With all IDs being shown he tells us that he will go find a server. Our interaction with the guard had consumed about 15-20 minutes and during this time 13-14 people walked out and 6-7 walked in. Our guard comes back and says that a table for 4 would be ready in 45 minutes. While he is telling me this, a server is taking 3 people, who just walked in (since there are no reservations at your place), to a table. I wonder what table will be able to seat 3 but not 4 people. THIS IS WHERE I AM 100% SURE it is not about the ID. We decided to walk out as it was apparent that the 45 minute wait was based on the guards biases regarding ethnicity and not about policy. For Baijiu, you have good food and drinks, but that is easily replicable or can even be improved further by another innovative chef or restauranteur. What could not be replicated was the ambience you provided which was always welcoming and gracious. The experience I had was nothing short of toxic. Shame on the management of Baijiu for letting this happen, shame on the hiring manager who could not see the red flags the guard displays every time he opens his mouth and shame on you for just killing the vibe. If this attitude is promoted by the management and you are actually indulging in filtering your patrons based on ethnicity, then you are not a business I want to even spend a dollar on. I do see another review from the recent past from someone named A Ranjit which has similar undertones as my incident. For the Guard, I am sorry for you and this life you lead. I will be mortified if I have to wake up everyday and get ready to go to a job where I am paid to be RUDE to people. It would really be something that would make you be rude to a 78 year old man and a 68 year old woman, let alone anybody else. Your attitude made us leave your restaurant with the intent of never to come back to your place again. THINK ABOUT THIS. This is what you just did to your employer and his/her business in spite of them doing a good job with the operations. I am also thankful to you, your attitude sent us to another restaurant where we spent our hard-earned money on hard working people of our community who ensured that we enjoyed our evening. That is the Edmonton I have known and have been living in, not what you showed us. All the best!

Stopped in for a quick bite before a concert - sat at the bar. Service was excellent everyone was very friendly! We split the bibimbap rice bowl it was delicious, and the house hot sauce added quite the kick . The Okinawa Nitro espresso martini was also very tasty - nice twist on the regular espresso martini, the coconut grey goose was a nice touch !!

We visited a year ago and it was good. We decided to come back and the food was honestly just terrible, especially for the price. When spending that kind of money, I expect flavor and not dried out chicken.

Although the vegan options arent explicitly labelled as such on the menu, they provided a list of vegan dishes when I inquired via email. The KFC brussels sprouts were amazing - easily the highlight of the meal! The tofu ramen bao was decent but couldve done with more toppings (it was basically a slab of saucy tofu with some corn kernels). They served up many creative cocktails. The Ube Everywhere cocktail was delicious and aesthetic - a vibrant purple colour. The covered winterized patio was warm and cozy, and the atmosphere was great. They only accept reservations for groups of 6 or more.

We always seem to have a great time here. Good atmosphere but the lighting needs a slight improvement or I need to start eating more carrots. Bao Tuesdays was awesome. Love the creativity and flavors! Update: Nov24 Had the chicken Bao, tofu bao and chicken dumplings. None of which didnt fit my tastes so well. Up till recent Id never had a Bao or dish I didnt enjoy here. Pork Bao was still tasty.

Had amazing service and food at Baiju this weekend! Large group for a birthday celebration and Shawn was amazing, remembering orders and names throughout the evening and being patient as the group evolved over the evening. Amazing atmosphere on the patio as well, would absolutely recommend!

We had rented out little HK for a bachelorette a few months ago and it was incredible. Service was top notch- the bartender Alex knew exactly what drinks to make when you said surprise me which is what we all loved. The food was delicious! Definitely will be back. Alex made the whole experience great!

My colleagues and I visited Edmonton for a conference this weekend. We ate at Baijiu last night Sunday, Sept 29th. The meal started quite nice and the staff were attentive. Mid meal we went outside to smoke and as we came back inside a bouncer roughly asked us for ID. Being in our 40 s, having just stepped outside and the restaurant having less than 15 people inside this seemed very odd. The security then demanded ID, since I refused and walked past him to our table filled with food. We mentioned this to the staff who seemed used this agressive behaviour. We cut our dinner short paid the bill as the security proceeded to yell insults at me. The ownership and management should be ashamed, the security guards actions stopped us from inviting 40 colleagues from the conference. We found a new venue Sherlock s that was very accommodating and polite. Shane on you.

Super fun vibe even for the 35+ crew ;) Tasty cocktails and great music. Server was chill and personable, happy to help with suggestions for cocktails and beer. The sour beer our server recommended was 10/10.

I had my happily ever after party at Baijiu Tubbo over the weekend, They let us do a pre set menus & drinks. My friends and family had a great time. I just want to give our server Joe a huge shout out! Hes super friendly and he worked really hard to serve our group of 32 which I thought was insane haha, Thank you Joe + Baijiu & the manager Natasha, Kevin + Baijiu staff who help us set everything up.

Seems like a big popularity contest. If you don t know the people at the door, or aren t hot, they will make you wait. I would avoid if you want middle aged men in security jackets looking down on you like their job is a real prize. Avoid!

Went with a friend at his recommendation. Got peach and shrimp bao And shareable noodles. Prices was around 20 for the bao and 28 for the shareable noodles. The noodles were creamy yet bland having pickled onions but not enough to compliment the meal. I had the char Sui chicken which was not bad and wasnt dry with decent flavor. The corn was nice but didnt add much. It does say specifically as a shareable but the portion was most definitely for a single person. The bao was nice and the flavor of the shrimp and peach were nice not enough sauce. They were too small to be a entree and quite expensive as a appetizer. I would say the atmosphere is nice but the food was not complimentrary to it. Avoid if you are hungry. A big thing if I go eat and spending 50 or so dollars and Im starving its a clear avoid at all costs. I did go to the bathroom and first one I went to someone didnt flush and pissed all over the seat. Next one someone took a dump and didnt flush and left that one alone and third one wasnt messed up.

Horrible service by what seemed to be the guy running it. Me and my girlfriend showed up around 8:40. We were told by the host that tables would be a 20-30 min wait and that we could sit at the bar till they had a table free. Around 2 drinks and 40 minutes pass, we look to see about 2-3 tables open. About 2 minutes pass by and we see the host bringing in multiple groups of girls to seat at said tables. We got up and left at that point. Terrible service. More of a bar/club vibe not somewhere to get a bite. 1/5

Best Bao!!

It was my first time here, and I was so impressed. The mixed drinks were unique, and we enjoyed all the ones we tried. The food was sooo good, and fresh! The server was very attentive without disrupting us. And this place is a vibe. I love a bar with dim ambient lighting, and they nailed it. Its dim, but you can still see everything. The individual bathrooms also had ambient lighting, fun wallpaper, mirrors, and music. Around 9pm, the music got louder and switched to hip hop remixes, and I loved it. It was packed, but you could still hear each other talking. They nailed the fun vibe for millenial/gen z. I had a genuinely great time and will definitely be back!

Went to Baiju a year ago and had a great experience. The food and atmosphere were great. Went last week and the food was bad. The service was subpar and overall this place has gone down in quality significantly.

We came through the front door and host led us to a table out on the patio, shortly after we were seated another host came over and very rudely kicked us out, said it was booked for a private party & asked us why we were at this table and who sat us here, then the 1st host denied sitting us and played stupid and then walked away laughing. Everyone was extremely unprofessional and rude and the drinks were warm and the patio picnic tables smell like cat pee. I would never come back.

We decided to try this place after we went out for supper. We didnt have any food here only drinks. The atmosphere was superb and our server was great! The drinks were decent, but I think they were a tad overpriced. I would definitely come back here to try the food though.

BAIJIUs atmosphere makes for truly memorable experiences. The Sunset Grooves event on July 30th was incredible, everyone was dancing and enjoying themselves, even in the rain. The staff did well to accommodate the crowd, it was a full house! They have a beautiful lounge inside and a large walled patio/event space outside. The baos there have become a bit sweet for my tastes, but the cocktails are banging good.. had something very refreshing with mezcal and cucumber .. Can t wait to experience this again.

This will always be one of my favorite restaurants. The food never disappoints, drinks are so tasty, service is always great, and its such a nice vibe. Came here for a birthday supper. The food was mostly good, though the spring rolls were raw on the inside. Our server was phenomenal and took care of that for us. Our server was a champ. The main reason I m writing this review is that they don t have air conditioning. It was absolutely sweltering inside there, such that the staff have fans around their necks to stay cool. The heat inside made us basically just want to rush through supper so we could leave. It s ridiculous that you wouldn t install air conditioning, especially when other places in the building have air conditioning. This is a popular restaurant which clearly does well. It s also closed most of the day which would be a perfect time to install air conditioning, were the owners not too cheap to do so. It s disgraceful that you d have staff even working in the temperature it was inside. They clearly had to take breaks in the lobby and on the patio to get out of the heat. Would not surprise me to consider this a violation of employment standards conditions.

The store was said to be open at 5:00 and we were there at 5:00. However, all entrances were blocked and it is 32° outside so we waited about 6 minutes. Then finally someone opened the door and asked us to go to the main entrance and wait until they open the door and we waited until 5:15 and no ones still opened the door so we had to leave. I feel bad for the business owner because the servers are lacking.

Our first time, and it was nice. We popped in for a pre-game cocktail & snack. We were greeted warmly and shown to a table by the wall. Our server was lovely and helped us choose the perfect cocktails. She also was very aware of the gluten free options etc.. We did find the music a bit loud (Though we are two ancient over 40 year olds ha), but I could see how the younger crowd would love this place, and we will come back too. Id recommend the Korean popcorn chicken, delicious! Vegetarian options: They have something for everyone, veg options too. Dietary restrictions: They have something for everyone, gf options too.

Worst bar I ve ever been to. If you re not a hot girl you get treated like trash. The service was so bad that we never did get a drink. The manager put us in the worst spot where we couldnt be served as no one would come to us. The manager is very disrespectful and rude to paying customers.

Definitely consider myself an easy going patron but Baijiu pushed our buttons with their time policy. We had a reservation in advance and were seated quickly and the host (I think he is manager and/or owner) came to the table and reminded us of the 2.5 hour limit, we advised we knew and he said he just need to reiterate it , after only 1 hour of sitting while consistently ordering drinks and food the waitress came and told us again about the time limit and included asking if we could leave 5 minutes early so she can clean the table. We also ordered a drink and it was mistaken for a food order which was fine and we kept the food and figured someone would eat it. Waitress came back and asked if their was an issue with the food, we just let her know we meant to order a drink but I think she just misheard and she said well I just wrote down what you said , it seemed a bit argumentative when we were cool keeping the food and paying for it. While we were paying the manager came over and whispered something about us to the server, I know it could have been harmless but it was just a bit tacky. I think they may take themselves a bit too seriously. We all agreed the food and drink were excellent but were slightly overshadowed by the strange service.

Best cocktails in Edmonton hands down. Kevin and his staff are truly unique in how they treat their clients and local residents. Atmosphere and food are consistently 10/10. Couldn t think of a better place for a good night out! Oh and if you re at an Oilers game, they got you covered there too!

Wow, what another 5-star gem in YEG. Where have you been all my life! Alex is a great, knowledgeable, creative, and friendly bartender. Beautiful cocktails. Can t go wrong with bartenders choice. But wait - the food. Wow, awesome dumplings and bao. It s a magic combination when the kitchen is as great as the bar, and complimented only by the service and vibe. I look forward to coming back!

Cool place to go after hard day at office

If youre in the mood for fantastic food without breaking the bank (too much), this place is a winner. Their pulled pork nachos are a must-try; not only are they delicious, but the portion size is also generous. As for drinks, theyve got a solid selection at standard prices. And dont even get me started on the desserts the creme brulee is a standout. I enjoyed it so much that Id order it again on my next visit. One thing to keep in mind is that this spot tends to get pretty busy, so its wise to call ahead and make a reservation. That way, youre guaranteed a table when you arrive. However, if you decide to chance it and walk in, they usually have space available at the bar. Overall, its a great spot for a satisfying meal and drinks, just be sure to plan ahead to secure your spot. Another thing to keep in mind is parking, there is not much parking nearby and the parking that is available is paid. If you come on a day where there is an event at rogers place you will have to pay more. So consider parking a bit further away to save yourself some money. It is close to Rogers place tho so public transit is a viable option as well.

Best Peach Shrimp Bao and green onion mini buns are a must try. I love the siu dumplings also get a with your frirnds I recommend the lychee

My fave restaurant in Edmonton! I ve moved away and I always make a point to come get some bao anytime I m in town. Haven t found anything quite like it even in Montreal.

We had an amazing experience at Baijiu! They took amazing care of us when we went to celebrate our Anniversary! Natasha went above and beyond to accommodate us when our day went sideways and we risked running late for our reservation. The food was amazing, the service spectacular and very quick! The overall experience was a delight! Cant wait to go back!

Everyone already knows this place is good but I m seriously impressed that every time I go they get better and keep expanding their menu! Amazing cocktails and bartenders. I quite often get dealers choice and just share some flavours I like with the server. The pork bao is the best food and I can t find a better bao elsewhere. The only downside is that the music can get loud sometimes, which makes it harder to talk to a group of people.

Only had cocktails with my friends so cant speak to the food but absolutely amazing quality and service here. I had several of the menu cocktails as well as some bartender originals that they made up on the spot after asking what I liked. Very cool vibe and good service too, check em out!

This place absolutely blew my mind. They have the best outdoor patio in the summer time and a great winter patio as well. The food was absolutely amazing. The vibes here are great, especially when they play the 2000s R&B music. Always my favorite will definitely continue to support this venue.

EDIT ::FOR SPEAKEASY AS THEY TO CALL IT HERE IN Edmonton for LITTLE HONG KONG..(LHFk place is little hidden for a speakeasy and there is very less speakeasy vibe compared to outer establishment.. OUR MIXOLOGIST INSIDE THE LHK WAS ALEX WHO HIMSELF DEVISED THE WHOLE COCKTAIL MENU FOR THE BRAND.. BUT IT WAS OK TO SAY THAT NONE OF HIS COCKTAILS WERE REMARKABLE.. EXCUSE THAT WE GOT WAS IT WAS BUSY CHRISTMAS TIME.. WILL GIVE IT A TRY AGAIN AND UPDATE THE REVIEW AGAIN... BAR tender/ mixologist as they called it herd was very limited to what he was able to do.. IF THEIR IS NO DIFFERENCE IN WHAT THE OUTSIDE AND INSIDE Good cocktails and great hospitality..would expect some complex flavors out of the cocktails but overall cocktails were balanced.. Presentation can be improved using clear ice and different mixology methods of infusion but I dont think Edmonton as a city has progress to such complex mixology methods.. Overall i would definitely return to try more of their cocktails and hope they find there niche in mixology in Edmonton by innovation in their cocktails..

A very nice bar, with great service. The shrimp and pork baos were great. The drinks were also nicely made. The greenhouse terrace is a really cool place to be at. The prices are a bit high, but the experience is worth it.

Food is amazing. Had the Mushroom Gyoza and the chicken bao. Service is amazing. From the host to the bartender/waitresses. Brought a lady there and there was quite a wait, but they had an open spot in the speakeasy. Had no idea that even existed, very cool vibe in there. The bartender Lex was a very cool guy. Open to conversation but also very knowledgeable and helpful. I asked him to make something that he thought Willem Dafoe might enjoy, he absolutely nailed it. Not that I know what Willem Dafoe likes but it was a fantastic drink!

I can say this is hands down one of the best establishments I ve been to of late. I love coming for their bao buns because they re just so tasty. Most places are more like a one trick pony but here everything is delicious. From their cocktails to their food you can t go wrong. And during the summer their outdoor patio is a great time to get drinks and enjoy time with friends.

Went to Little Hong Kong (iykyk) last night for their Christmas pop up. What an amazing experience! I loved the intimate setting it really allowed for conversation between other guests and the bartender. The bartender was also amazing! I ordered the Santas little helper definitely a 10/10 drink, also the bbq pork bao buns and mushroom gyoza. Everything was AMAZING. Love the concept Baiju great job and Im looking forward to that new patio!

Great food. Service from the manager working as host at the door seemed like he was put out finding us a seat. Server was working the whole restaurant and was clearly struggling to keep up. Food and drinks were both spectacular.

I went with my family including my daughter who is a minor in a -27c evening thinking we are the only one. It was surprisingly busy. The chicken wings which has a savory Miso flavor that you couldnt find anywhere. She finished all the bao(shrimp, sharchiu and pork and gave them thumb up. Tea eggs have an interesting twisted taste. Mila and Alex are cute, super friendly, attentive and diligently making sure we are attended and well served. Food was served quickly. I googled it and found out they made to the best Canada 50 bar for a couple years. There are only one or two from Edmonton and they are one of very few. Parking: You would expect pay for parking

Busy little place, but very cool ambiance. Only had the gyoza to eat, they were average. Where this place shined for us were the drinks. Very cool menu and the Baiju Barbie is something Ive been dreaming of since I had it. Probably the best cocktail Ive ever had, and Ive had a lot, lol, in a lot of cool places around the world. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Absolutely top notch. We had just had a sour experience at Honi Honi and were probably in not the best mood. We decided to go to Baijiu instead. What a difference! First off the manager was absolutely the best, he explained that all the tables were booked, but he could get us bar seating and let us sit in sort of horseshoe pattern which would allow to us to converse still. The staff was top notch and absolutely professional and friendly. The drinks and food were excellent and the entire atmosphere was perfect. This place knows what they are doing and I can t recommend them enough. I completely respected the manager trying to defend Honi Honi as he knew them, that says a lot about his character and only because of him will I try Honi Honi again. Expensive but very good. Its worth trying their cocktails if you go. Its bar food so portions are small, but they are tasty. Pork and Shrimp Dumplings, and their broth was 10/10.

It really is a great menu... Very unique dishes that taste amazing... Its very loud, conversations complete with the music making it difficult to hear. The patrons mostly seem to be under the 40 years old age range, but certainly any age can go.. is dark the few times Ive went, and definately has a funky vibe. Also check out the speak easy when youre there..

This place is a gem. The staff is terrific and the menu is so tasty. Perfect for date nights, private parties, or a great evening out. Live DJs, excellent bartenders, and a hidden bar. You wont be disappointed.

I have been coming to Baijiu ever since they opened up in Mercer Warehouse. I work just below them at Weekly Trim True and pop my head in after work all the time. The team at Baijiu are really amazing and they are well organized especially when it comes to accommodating me whether i m with a few people or a big group. The food/drinks are very good, they change their menu every season and it just gives a refreshing feel to it every time I come by. Music is very nostalgic as well which sets a good mood and ambiance. Definitely recommend stopping by here whether you re a local or just visiting town!

Busy place, good food and drinks, Bao Buns are some of the best I have had, great cocktails

Very crowded and uncomfortable seating. Apparently there is no need for customer service when you are the place to be . We reserved a table for a large group and when we asked for more seats because there wasnt enough we were told nope this is what you get, deal with it . My wife went to the washroom and someone was able to push the door open on her and when she complained to management they told her she just didn t lock it properly. I myself used one of the washrooms and the lock was hanging by a wood sliver, so you are going to tell me that it s my fault if someone can push their way into the occupied washroom? Ok so this place doesn t take responsibility for anybody who doesn t have an enjoyable experience? I ll go somewhere else thanks. Let everyone else be fooled by how cool you think you are.

I cringe at seeing Asian inspired. The food here is like food made from a cookbook that was written by a tourist who traveled to tourist- oriented eateries and then the chef here at Baijiu decided halfway through his cooking to NOT follow the recipe and cover up the lack of authentic flavor with too much salt and mayonnaise... I would have had less expectations if the food wasnt labeled Asian inspired - cuz its nowhere close to Asian Food. The chicken tasted like it was made from carnival food batter and the onion balls tasted like a mini donut recipe - not close at all to Asian Food. Overall, I found the food overly salty, covered in too much mayonnaise, and lack nuances of Asian cooking. The food here is basically pub food. I would have rated this at 2 stars but our bartender was fantastic. We were in the private room with our own bar, so he didnt have all the ingredients to make the menu drinks (which is odd btw). He did, however, made me an Old Fashioned to suit my palate - not-so-sweet cinnamon syrup with mango and Makers Mark. It was super fantasticly delicious. The scotch he suggested was also on point. We had it with ice on the side. The bartender was super accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable and if we had to, the only reason we would come back to Baijiu would be because of him.

Cool ambience, I love that its so dimly lit at night. Havent had the food but the cocktail and hospitality were great! Cheers!

This place is incredible. First, our waitress was very attentive, even tho she was quite busy (I m sorry I don t remember her name). Jeff in the kitchen was so awesome, he made us delicious donuts after the kitchen was closed down. Next, the DJ was killin it all night with amazing music. Had the pork boa, which was sooooo melt in your mouth yummy - all the food we tried was delicious!!!! And the vibe of the whole place was exception in every way. Thank you so much! Will definitely be coming here during our next trip to Edmonton

Tried going here on a Sunday night for a nightcap after dinner nearby. Both Google maps and their website said they were open until midnight, but I arrived a little after 10 and they were very much closed for the night. Disappointed.

I like this place, but we had a watered down fashioned a sour/maybe overly sauced carpacio. Tough to chew despite being wagyu like I had to spit some out tough. Best this i can say it was spicy which I enjoyed. and the deviled eggs tasted very vinegar forward. Idk I like the atmosphere and I have heard great things. Maybe we just came on an off day. I hope to come back and try some hopefully better items.

Amazing patio and drink menu!

The food isn t the same as I remember with the Brussels sprouts being gone. The new wonton nachos are quite a strange flavour; I bit into a whole unknown thick black seed in the dish, that I thought I broke my tooth! I will say that there s an excellent outdoor patio!

Food is incredible. The Bao are in my top three- though its hard to choose favourites, since all the dishes are delicious. The cocktails are also amazing-if youre going and have capacity for an alcoholic beverage, check out the menu- you wont be disappointed.

Delicious food and the best bao buns I ve ever had.

This was the first restaurant we tried in Edmonton, Alberta. It was highly recommended by a travel blogger. Location was great- very near the hockey arena. It looks like a bar inside, but they have patio seating with umbrellas for shade. They have a big selection of different cocktails. We had a great server. Food was hit and miss. We ordered the Deviled Tea eggs- and they were very salty- not edible. The calamari was expensive, but quite ordinary. Be careful with the seasonings on top because it made the dish salty as well. We were getting quite disappointed with the food until we tasted the stirf-ried bok choy. It was perfectly cooked with different kinds of mushrooms and garlic ginger, soy sauce. The stems of the bok choy remained crunchy just the way I like it. We also ordered the Nori Ramen Bowl with shrimp. It was also delicious. It came with cucumber, corn, salsa, red onions, mushroom, and scallions. There was an option to add pork or shrimp or tofu for additional cost. The restaurant was pretty pricey. We spent almost C$100 for two people. We didn t order any drinks.

Had the speakeasy room for a group celebration and the experience was amazing. Alex our bartender made delicious drinks for us all. The dumpling nachos are very good.

I didnt have the opportunity to eat but I loved the drinks and atmosphere! I would absolutely go back!

It was a good vibe. I sipped friends drinks ( ) which were yummy and all I asked in return for being delightful and sober was to hit the wee gong on the shelf. Our bartender, the Antichrist, wouldn t let me. Lovely time overall, but I m disappointed in him and he knows it. Now I must get my own gong.

Place was super busy but we still had a great time and got some drinks and food with in reason for how busy it was and all of it was delicious!

This place was awesome, I ve wanted to try the food here for so long and I can t believe I waited. Food was amazing if you re into Asian fusion you ll love this place. The baos were awesome and the Indonesian fried rice which is nasi goreng was delicious and actually had a kick to it which was nice. We had some drinks and they were great too. The ube had a subtle but ube flavor and it was my favorite. I will definitely be going back for more!

Really excellent Asian-inspired cocktails and food. As a world-traveling craft cocktail enthusiast, I was very impressed. Sheldon was awesome behind the bar.

Baos are very pricey for what you get. A little sprinkle of meat on each bao feels underwhelming. For $18, I would expect more. Additionally, I dont think its a coincidence that only the cheapest proteins are used. All about the bottom line, after all!

Tasty cocktails and food

It was mine and my partners first time at Baijiu. We celebrated our 8 year anniversary!! The vibe was amazing and the service was even better! Tom and Miela KILLED it and absolutely made our experience there unforgettable! Wish the food was bigger as it was sooo delicious! All in all a great time and we will be bringing our friends there for sure. <3

Great spot

I ve been to baijiu a few times now and it never misses! The drinks are incredible and fairly priced compared to other upscale cocktail bars. The coco kisses was amazing. Also the ice cream sandwich was to die for! Shoutout bartender Shawn who took pictures for my friend and I on her birthday. You made the experience special!!

Ive came here a few times and everytime ive been here ive had such great service and experince. The pork boa was insanley tasty so i reccomend that! Also the managers and the servers are insanley nice. There was a seating issue and it was quickly resolved and was met with a a polite apology and brief service. I was so excited to come to Baijiu for wedding photos as I love the atmosphere. I scheduled months in advance with the GM to arrive before opening to get photos and drinks with the bridal party and we got a limo to go all the way from our wedding venue in Fort Saskatchewan to downtown Edmonton specifically for these photos. Upon arrival, the manager- Tyler- (not the GM I was dealing with) was immediately rude and told us he had no booking. We tried to show him the emails and he refused to acknowledge them. After pressing him he said that my husband and I could work around him but my bridal party had to leave immediately. My bridesmaid again tried to talk to him and he dismissed her and refused once again to see any of the emails with the GM. He refused to make anyone drinks and did his best to push my husband and I out as quickly as possible. It honestly was so devastating as we specifically planned out an expensive limo trip just to take pictures at Baijiu. He then proceeded to lie to the GM about our interaction, even though the majority of the bridal party witnessed his inconsiderate behaviour. To me, ruining someone s wedding day/ pictures, when it was planned in advance is unforgivable.

Waited almost 40 minutes for any service only to have my drink spilled on my cellphone and all over my lap by the server. They didnt clean the table afterwards and gave me a cloth to clean it myself. Our food orders were incorrect and my cellphone is now broken. Its unfortunate because the atmosphere and food was actually very good but by far one of the worst service experiences Ive had. Waiting to see from my bank if I was charged twice for my meal because the machine wasnt working properly and I used two different cards.

Out of all the food we tried we loved the pork bao the best. The featured spicy jerky chicken? Bao was a bit too spicy over powering the plantain and whatever s in there. The PBR was a good compliment for the chicken Bao though the Ha Long Bae was not so much. I believe the Ha Long Bae was one of the popular drinks but I personally didn t think it was impressive in anyway. The pork Bao is Similar to the traditional BBQ pork bun flavour but made of pulled/shredded pork instead of the typical pork belly cuts from Chinese cuisine. We liked the music and the environment but it may be on the slightly expensive side. The service was quite good. Got checked quite often despite it being busy even on a Tuesday night. Huge thank you to Baijiu for accommodating me and my 35 person reservation, for our engagement party. We had the perfect spot on the patio sectioned off for us to mingle and celebrate. Extra thanks to Natasha, Adam and Angie for being so kind and helpful in orchestrating our large reservation and separate bills !

This place is such a vibe~~ Went there a week ago with my boyfriend and tried their best drinks and best food (pork bao?!! *French kiss*) lol or maybe we re a bit hungry. There s this one bartender named Harley, who is so kindly offered us drinks! Kudos to you! One concern is that only few stalls for bathroom so you have to wait quite awhile. Wish the place is bigger! Definitely will be back to try new drinks and more bao!

We enjoyed a wonderful evening at Baijiu to mark a special anniversary. Amazing food - the deviled eggs might be a new favorite. And of course the cocktails were impressive (as always) both in presentation and flavor. Great service and a special shout out to Natasha. Thank you.

A great place to share a wide variety of quality dishes, almost all of which were just dynamite (nothing was not good, but others were just exceptional). Great cocktails as well! We sat on the patio, which was very cozy and sheltered from the wind and when it got dark they turned on some great fire pits that kept us warm. Only problem is that once it got busy the speed of everything slowed down quite a bit, but luckily we had gotten through at least half of our dinner before that happened.

We went here on a Sunday post Oilers game and it had a great vibe! It wasnt too busy which was nice. Their bartenders are super friendly and knowledgeable. We both tried a cocktail from their menus and one from request and they came through on all accounts - even adding their own twist to the special request cocktail I had. We had their wings, just salt and pepper but delicious. I highly recommend this place for drinks!! Dietary restrictions: They have a dedicated fryer so great for gf/celiac. Their options are limited given they are Asian cuisine and many dishes have soya sauce. Even so, they were very knowledgeable and careful with this allergy. It would be fantastic if theyd use a GF soya sauce since there are options out there!

Awesome Ambiance and Vibe

Fantastic cocktail bar. Small establishment. Fairly busy place early in the night, had to wait for a seat. Music is loud. Ube everything drink was the best drink Ive ever had. Great staff. Wifi available. Didnt have any food but looked good. Asian aspired.

Always a great time when we visit this place. Service is hit and miss sometimes but I dont feel bad about it because the food and drinks are amazing.

What a disappointment. Ive been excited to come to this spot for a whole now, but the patio server is inattentive and disorganized. We ended up having to place our food order through the host. Ideally people are able to place orders for food at restaurants, but I what do I know? My friends joined us after and ordered with the server, sadly the server forgot part of their order as well, and only remembered when we asked for the cheque. The guy even told us that he forgot to ring the food for another table, while we were paying our bill. I would name and shame the server, but he never introduced himself to us. So Ill have to identify him as the incompetent dude with a bucket hat, Louis Vuitton shawl, and an inability to hold a tray. The guy put his tray down to take our order, and put it IN THE FIRE ON A FIRE TABLE. Certified dummy.

People are going to talk about how great the drinks are, or how awesome the service is, or how cool the vibe is. But not enough people talk about how amazing the food is. The food at Baijiu doesn t receive the recognition it deserves.
