A Wonderful Pre-Birthday Celebration at Ernest’s We had the pleasure of dining at Ernest’s at NAIT for my wife’s pre-birthday dinner, as the restaurant will be closed during the Christmas break. From start to finish, our experience was exceptional, thanks in large part to our server, Tron (also known as Tron of Marvel). Tron’s professionalism and attentiveness truly stood out. He ensured that every aspect of our dining experience was seamless, making us feel welcomed and well-cared for throughout the evening. His friendly demeanor, attention to detail, and ability to anticipate our needs enhanced the celebration, creating a warm and memorable atmosphere for my wife’s special occasion. The food was, as always, exquisite, and the service from Tron elevated the entire experience. My wife had a very pleasant time, and it was a perfect way to celebrate in advance of her Christmas Day birthday. Thank you, Ernest’s, and a special thank-you to Tron, for making this evening so memorable for us. We look forward to returning again!
Love going to Ernest’s and supporting the culinary students. The food is always so creative and delicious. The service is wonderful and they have been able to accommodate a nut allergy and celiac disease (gluten-free).
We came for my son’s birthday dinner and my kids were very impressed by the food, service and atmosphere. Two amazing servers both name Ashley did great job and we really enjoyed the dinner here. Highly recommend ❤️❤️❤️
Ernest's at NAIT is a gem for #YEG and the chocolate Indian Chief and sugar sculptures are most inviting and make a superb ambience for one's palate. An excellent full three course lunch at Ernest with exemplary service and value, finishing off with the tea lady's tea - a variety to choose from - Rooisbois and Earl Grey were excellent! Riya and Ren served us with flair and kindness making excellent recommendations on the menu. They built rapport with us with ease. Chad, the maitre 'd came to our table at the end of the service to ensure we were happy with the service. The student who prepared the food also came around to ensure our satisfaction with the food! #YEG must be proud to celebrate the legacy of Ernest Robert Hokanson at this superb student run restaurant; Ernest started humbly as a pot washer at the Hotel McDonald; Gratitude also to the donors who make this culinary arts program possible at NAIT; We shall return for certain and highly recommend one and all to have lunch or dinner or buffet at Ernest! Booking through Opentable who have listed Ernest as a renowned top notch restaurant.
Came here with my wife for the Eat,Learn, Celebrate lunch for $30. This allows you to choose any appetizer, entree, and dessert. Super good value and was full after. Service was fantastic. Even though they're students, I felt as if their service was on par, if not better than some other fine dining restaurants. Food was all really good. Definitely worth coming and supporting the students at NAIT. Looking forward to trying the Friday buffet!
Aaron did an excellent job as our waiter. After excellent starters, we went for the Food from the forest and 30 day aged butcher's cut for our main courses. Both were excellent. Had Moonstone Lavender tea with a great Dark Chocolate Mousse Cake for dessert. A wonderful evening of fine dining at one of Edmonton's top restaurants. We really enjoyed their new menu!
A really nice place for an outing. Good overall experience at lunch today. Even though they are getting ready to close for the summer, excellent food is coming out of the kitchen. At this time the menu changes daily. Service was prompt and attentive. Give this place a try if you have an opportunity to do so.
Excellent meal was had by all 6 of us. One person in our party has extensive food restrictions. No problem. He could even eat a lovely chocolate dessert. I had the duck. It was very tasty and tender. Make sure you ask for the menu that offers the combination selections. We weren’t offered it, and realized it later. Not a big deal, but may have changed our orders.
I went for lunch. I had the taco soup starter and the salmon main. Both tasted amazing. The service was exceptional. Great price for fine dining.
Food is not as good as expected. Otherwise basically flawless.
Incredible service and amazing food. Very fairly priced for fine dining.
Students are working hard. Food is on point. Knowledgeable staff and calm atmosphere. You know what youre going to get and its very consistant.
I highly recommend this establishment as one of the premiere places to experience fine dining. The food bordered on the divine and the service was exceptional. Truly a titanic meal of earthly delight.
It s clear why Ernest s was named OpenTable s Top 100 Restaurants in Canada for 2023 and they re likely going to be up there again after the year they re having. I ve been going to Ernest s for years ever since I found the place and have always had a new and unique experience each time which is the reason why I keep coming back. The students are passionate about their dishes and can get so creative with the flavours they present. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating with great hospitality by going above and beyond. The lunch menu has very reasonable prices especially if you do the Eat, Learn, Celebrate 3-course meal. The most bang for your buck. Why pay $45 for an overcooked steak at the Keg when you can get a full 3-course meal at Ernest s? Exactly. The student showcase buffet which happens every Friday at lunch is the best buffet in the city. I highly recommend booking the next available date as it sells out months in advance. I ve booked off a day of work just to go to one of the buffets because I know how fast they book up. Not to mention very affordable. The wine dinners are so much fun (just make sure you have a safe ride home!). They also hold many other events which is what makes this place so special. But what I m really looking forward to is the Alumni Series happening right now, something they ve never done before. We got tickets to the October event so I m excited to see what it s all about. You will always leave full from this place. YOU GOTTA EAT HERE! Vegetarian options: There will always be a vegetarian option on the rotating lunch menu or dinner menu. Dietary restrictions: Always accommodating for allergies and dietary restrictions. Very safe for food handling. Parking: During school hours the parking lot and street parking are paid parking. Free parking in the evenings. Wheelchair accessibility: Automatic doors, ramps and no stairs to entrance or exits. Tables are at a good height for wheelchairs.
I visited here one time with one other person. It was luncheon event and we arrived 15 mins earlier so no one was there yet. We sat face to face on edge of super long table and the table was filled soon after. There was a 3-4 ppl party with a dog came in lastly and they didnt have enough seats at the end of other side of edge. Idk what happened after but the server made all of us move to one seat next to, and brought a chair and force me move to the shorter side of edge seat which didnt even have a enough room for my dishes. Now my friend had to face to someone we dont know, I didnt have enough room for my dishes even if we came first and sat at the edge. We asked the server we didnt like it but the server didnt care at all and so we left. The fee was prepaid so we basically wasted our money. Idk about the food taste since we left before it started but I NEVER go back to this place.
The service was excellent...Aaron was very friendly and helpful. The food was also great. I had Food from the Forest (or something like that) and it was simply delicious. My husbands meal - 30 day aged butchers cut - was also very tasty. All in all an excellent way to spend our anniversary. Will highly recommend Ernests to others.
Such a wonderful experience! The service was amazing and the food was absolutely phenomenal. I loved the presentation and the Lemon Sage Raspberry Sphere is a MUST! Shout out to the whole hospitality team there - the instructor even came out to give us a bit of a lowdown of what they do there! Loved it!!!!!
Can t go wrong with this place for the price, fine dining for a fraction of the cost. Get the cream puff for dessert and the scotch egg for appetizers
Love the idea of supporting the program but the food and experience was terrible last night. Ordered a bottle of wine with our meal and they broke the cork off in the wine. Asked for a new one since the wine had cork chunks floating throughout it and they argued that they d decant it and it would be okay. Explained to them that decanting doesn t filter out cork, but they insisted and poured the wine into the decanter even though we asked for another bottle. Small $9 beer. Drinks took 20 mins to arrive. Had to ask for salt & pepper on the table. Everything was oversalted. Some of the food was inedible. The food was worse than an all inclusive Mexico a la carte restaurant. You can get an amazing meal in Edmonton for around $100 a couple, but definitely not here. I m very confused by the high google ratings. Just happy we got to spend time out with friends, but a shame the food and service was brutal. I usually wouldn t leave a negative review but I think other people should be aware. You can t claim to be a fine dining restaurant and give your guests this sort of experience :/
The chefs here are great here is jrögensonburgshomglesshill rattattouillegarnsenhillwood my favourite he even sang me a bedtime story
Probably the worst restaurant I ve been to. Got the cauliflower steak, which was literally a head of cauliflower with what I assume was Cajun seasoning. So dry and horrible taste. Small amount of sauce under it with some kale. $30+ for that. Ordered a nice bottle of wine for the table, cork broke and they poured it in the decanter anyway. Cork pieces mixed with the wine. Over priced, weird atmosphere. Would not go again.
My husband and I went for our anniversary lunch. The food was absolutely delicious and at such a reasonable price. I love to see the students doing their very best to ensure you have a great experience. I cannot recommend enough, and look forward to our next visit.
We loved our lunch with friends. Our server Aaron was knowledgeable and friendly. The food was amazing I can hardly wait until they open again in September to book again. Also the market has great prices on meats and bakery items. The croissants are to die for!!! Food
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!
Truly one the best dining experiences in Edmonton. Fantastic food for an unbeatable price. If you love a fine dining meal, you HAVE to try Ernests, I promise you wont be disappointed!
One of the best cuisine in Edmonton!
It was a great opportunity to explore Ernest fine 3 course meal. While the service was at its finest best, our host/server Aaron is just a delight to talk to and interact with. This is a place to escape the hassle of the city restaurants and enjoy a great meals.
Almost everything I had was restaurant quality if not better! Lots of variety, not too veg friendly but some. The students did an amazing job cooking and the hospitality students were very attentive. I love see all their sweet happy faces while they see everyone enjoy and appreciate their hard work! Were going to have so amazing restaurant in a few years! Vegetarian options: Some dishes but probably not as many as youd like Dietary restrictions: Foods are labeled with nuts or gluten
Amazing food. Never disappoints. The hospitality staff are always on point.
For the money you just cant beat it. Service, pacing, and food quality was all very good. I found the accoutrements for the Artic Char a bit strange texture wise, the fish was perfect though. The duck confit was stellar and very tasty. The smoke salmon eclair was tiny and crunchy. The smoked pork chop was cooked very well, tender, juicy, and very flavorful. An excellent meal that puts the majority of higher end restaurants to shame on quality and cost.
Came for dinner Walking in, I was not sure what to expect-it was a really fun experience! Our server was fantastic we started with the duck confit pate Luckily I eat with folks who like variety so we had almost every entree offered beef tenderloin roasted duck sweet potato gnocchi White sable fish (of course I accidentally deleted the photos of most main dishes we ordered) each was delicious in their own right, the students crushed it. The dessert table comes around, and you get to see the offerings & make a choice...made by either a student or instructor We also tried a few desserts cocolate bar earl grey macaroon lemon meringue tart tirimisu mousse (lots of pics lol) I highly recommend experiencing Ernests & support the students in their culinary ventures!
It was a great fine-dining experience! The students do an excellent job and the menu was divine too. The dessert cart was pretty cool too. I highly recommend experiencing Ernests!
10/10 food
Awesome experience overall. We ve wanted to go here for years now but it s always been though to get a place, given the popularity of it. Well worth the wait. The appetizers were lovely, and the main course to die for. Servers were friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was elegant. At Ernest s you re getting a fine dining experience for affordable prices. Highly recommend this gem!
After a somewhat disappointing first experience at Ernests, maitre d Mandeep reached out to offer my mom and I a second experience for dinner. This act of incredible generosity and hospitality already sealed the deal for us, but dinner totally blew us out of the water. The meal was outstanding - every single course had me wanting to scrape my plate to get every little bit of sauce, but I would especially recommend the gnocchi and the duck in sour cherry sauce. We also had the immense pleasure of chatting with Austin, a graduating pastry student. Not only was his bright, cheerful demeanor the perfect pairing for his obvious passion for pastry, but his dessert recommendations knocked our socks off. The strawberry petit gateau was light and fluffy, and the chocolate petit gateau? Wow! The burst of passion fruit really cut through the rich chocolate, and if that pastry was available at my local bakery, I would absolutely eat it again. This experience showed us the immense professionalism and passion of Ernests staff - every member of staff we had the pleasure of speaking to was friendly and knowledgeable. I can guarantee well be return customers!
I enjoy my experience. Great service and great food.
Wonderful dining experience. The food and service were exceptional.
We absolutely enjoyed our dinner and well definitely come back again! Service was great and the food was spectacular!
Never let me down. Food is great People s friendly Only issue is very difficult to book for a buffet cause they only has it on Friday at lunch Anyway highly recommended
Incredible food wow! Service was impeccable. Very high end. I ate the sablefish and not a single complaint. 9 of us went, no complaints and some very very picky eaters. Mushroom soup with root vegetables delish. Beautiful cocktails and desserts. Will definitely go back!
Loved it! So good. If you have not had a chance to go, check it out. NAIT does a great job. Had a delicious 5 course dinner and enjoyed it very much!
The pork chop cooked normal as I did in home. I tasted and it is little worse than what I cooked. The water is kinda losed inside. But still, all good to the works. Good works. I tasted 2 soup and one traee and one entree, 2 deserts. The price is so cheap also, only 45 in total
The food, service, and ambiance are top-notch. Its always a treat to go to Ernest. The food, prepared by NAIT Culinary students, holds promise for future master chefs so the menu will always be different when you go. The venue operates on reservation-only basis. Park at Parking C for free by mentioning it to the host, who will provide the promo code Parking: Park are C location and scan at the QCode and ask for the promo code for free parking
Maybe an off night. But definitely not as good as I was told.
Restaurant is very nice.. great location and alot of parking. Service was good. All 4 of us had short ribs unfortunately they were all dry.. little over cooked. Buns we had were also dry Everything else was good.. Food
Im an Alumni-and support the different programs .Ernest is a great restaurant and reservations can be a hit and miss. Food is great
They have great food, the place has nice vibes too
One of the best restaurants in Edmonton. Nait culinary students make the food and its bang on every time. Pricing is reasonable. The experience provided is above all others. Highly highly recommend
Hidden gem. Wonderful, elegant food. Never disappoints.
Delicioua! What a fabulous event featuring the students. Please do more of these. Great evening of food.
This is an interesting place to eat because it is the students of the NAIT culinary school that do all the work. There are amazing appetizers, main course and deserts in buffet style for a great price. Well worth a try but difficult to get into. You have to book ahead early.
So many staff, and such great food. The buffet that we had was truly wonderful, so much variety and such good quality! Lovely service as well. Parking: Tricky to find parking esp at mid-day. I understand that Ernests have some reserved spots, but they were gone, so had to drive around a bit!!!
Incredible service and unique, delicious dishes!
Wow I can t believe it took me so long to try this restaurant. Food and service was great! Will be back for sure.
Came for Connie Desousa Chefs residency dinner which was also out first time at Ernests. The four course meal and wine pairing were unbelievable. Probably the best fine dining experience weve ever had at this price point. Each dish was delicious, presented impeccably and was a large portion. The service was also great and came often to check in and refill my water. Needless to say weve been checking their website regularly for the next event. This is a must try for all Edmontonians and we highly recommend this restaurant.
If youre impatient or arent forgiving towards students who are quite clearly trying to learn and improve, then stay away. Dont be mistaken by the culinary student underbelly, the food is fantastic and an easy recommendation.
My daughter is in the baking program, so I invited my friend to be here to try the foods. Everything is great.
Always an enjoyable experience. The students are friendly, sometimes nervous but theyre doing their best. Dishes are unique. Not perfected but you can see where they are going with the dish. Lots of interesting flavors and combinations. Service is excellent. The desserts are better than any in the city in my view.
Wonderful lunch buffet served, excellent food and service for a fixed price.
A must try if you are at NAIT
A must try if you are at NAIT
Great food, service and value! You get to try delicious culinary creations from the students and taste amazing dishes. Never dissapoints and the food is always amazing! Fine dining at really affordable prices!
Excellent food and excellent service. We will definitely be back there again. We were there to celebrate our anniversary, and the team at Ernest made it a special night! Food
Fantastic concept. Culinary arts students prepare the food. Service is impeccable and staff are fun but professional. Food is delicious and the presentation is 5 star! Prices are super affordable. Lunch for 2 with a drink, appetizer, entree and dessert was only 66.00 with tax!
Doods! Go here! Hair cuisine for $24 (well, that was for the 3 course luncheon by the Olympic Term). Sigh. What the heck can you say about a hour cuisine meal?! Compared to what? Swiss Chalet? Harvies? Really, any eatery in town. Just go. And go again. And go again... Vegetarian options: Just as enjoyable as everything else. Loved by all the Vegetable huggers at the tables. Parking: Free with Ernests parking code.
Impeccable service and relaxed atmosphere made this a great choice for lunch. Food was creative and scrumptious. Well be back! Dietary restrictions: No problem acommodating gluten free requirement.
The food was okay ... I had a duck. I was so excited, but unfortunately, duck was chewy and not seasoned... The bread basket was delicious.. wine was delicious. Appetizers were just okay.. Im a little disappointed, but we will be back... Food
Great service. Relaxing atmosphere. Food was good with some tweaks. Will return!
From the first step into the foyer, to the last step out, it was a 10/10 experience with food, service and the entire experience. Exceptional ! Vegetarian options: Vegan available Dietary restrictions: Gluten free available
Very good experience! Chicken was perfectly cooked, and deserts were amazing!
We ve been here multiple times and Ernest s at NAIT never fails to amaze us. It s a food lover s paradise, offering a diverse and delicious spread of gourmet delights that left us truly impressed and satisfied. It was an Asian themed buffet and having a roast pig was a true highlight. I can t wait to return!
I highly recommend that you try the Student Showcase Buffet at Ernests on the NAIT campus. This is fine dining, all done by aspiring students! I felt like I was in First Class the entire time! All the servers were very attentive and friendly. Cole, our server, was there for all our needs. He kept coming over to refill my water glass, which is always appreciated. The food was delectable and delicious. I highly recommend the calamari, the fried chicken and the vegetable gumbo. All their desserts were entirely delicious. The overall experience was one we will never forget. We will be returning to Ernests and thank you for a memorable time! Please try Ernests. Youll be in for a treat!
Nice place to have lunch and dinner. They have a new menu and the food is never the same which is nice. Service is great and the atmosphere is nice too. Too bad the lunch buffet is fully booked already for so long.
It was outstanding Food,Service and Price Our server Dalia was caring and charming We will visit again for sure Great experience Vegetarian options: Lunch had a vegetarian option Parking: We got the parking opposite Ernest 2 hrs for $$3.50
They were never afraid to invent new recipe. The new seasonal, chicken liver, was my favorite. BUT I was more impressed by Seth who serves our dinner. He was very thoughtful and did everything taking care of our table and explaining the menu. He deserves my top rating, more than the food itself. Photo 1: TONKA CRÈME CARAMEL ~8 (espresso genoise | warm figs and pears caramel crisp) Photo 2: CHICKEN LIVER MOUSSE (Seasonal new recipe) ~11 (pumpkinseed crust I apple I celery| mustard I baby brioche)
Food is really good. Will be back
Amazing food and delivery
I have been going to Ernests for years and have consistently had outstanding experiences. Food, service and atmosphere are top notch, an experience to be treasured.
Everything about Ernests at NAIT is top notch. A great experience for anyone who wants to experience a variety of gourmet dishes at a fraction of the cost of another restaurant. That this is a teaching facility adds to the fun.
We attended the brunch as we have so often before. Loved it!
Great food, atmosphere, service, and overall value. The students are very courteous in their service and always coming to check with you if everything is going on well and refilling your water as the case may be. I so much enjoy the three-course Christmas meal and their buffet lunch.
OMG SO DELICIOUS!!! My husband surprised me with a date night and I think it was the best date night we have had so far!! We did the 5 course meal and flight of wine, the dishes were decorated so beautifully and tasted even better!! And our waitress was so kind and we had such a wonderful conversation! Will definitely we back again soon!!!
Over the past 25 years of coming to this restaurant it has always been a benchmark in the city for dining, unfortunately tonight was not the night, not sure why but the plates were sub-standard for this place. Horrible that they couldnt serve a proper dessert as opposed heavy and rich confectionaries (very lack luster at that), not a pleasant way to end a meal. In saying this , we will try again next year, after all, it was only one poor experience in over 20.
My brother is finishing high school and he is thinking to go to Nait for Culinary Art, we book a table for 3 but were late due to husband has to work late. They waited for us, service was awesome, and they even have a student to gave us a presentation about how their program is like!! Food was extraordinary and delicious! What a special night! Would definitely go back.
The food was amazing and portions were very generous. The complimentary puff pastry appetizer and strawberry sorbet palate cleanser was also very nice. Our main entrees (bison prime rib and lamb shank) was very flavourful and tender. Having a dessert cart to display the featured dessert was a nice touch. Made it hard to decided upon just one!
Very good value since its students at the culinery school cooking so much cheaper than what youd expect at a regular fancy restaurant. Food was good though. Steak we got was overdone but small things like that in a school are expected and they were very happy to fix it. Varied ever changing menu. I usually never get desserts but they had some pretty interesting and tasty choices. Would definitely come again.
The food is delicious. Its the culinary students that cook and serve. The most reasonable priced fine dining meal in the city. Highly recommend
I took a friend here for dinner and was blown away by how consistently awesome the staff and food is here. Our server Matthew was fantastic! He had excellent recommendations, a great attitude and perfect timing. The food was creative and delicious. Thanks for a great dining experience!
Delicious gourmet food.
Decent value for money. The food is like hotel or buffet quality. All the students and staff are really nice. My meal was a bit hit and miss. Dessert was great though.
Had an absolutely marvelous meal.
Run by student and the instructors. Stable quality
Excellent little secret in the city!!
Very nice service. Great quality food. Creative. Nice ambiance.
Will not open for business until September
The menu rotates based on what the chef prepares. Its delicious so be prepared and get reservations early.
HIDDEN GEM! The best place I have ever eaten. Very affordable! ****update****** went back for my birthday dinner last night, again the food was top notch and the service was amazing! I highly recommend that everyone books a time and comes here
First time going and we were very impressed. The care and attention that goes into the meal is very noticeable. And the little things are super nice to see. We have dined at a lot of the fine dining in Edmonton and I would say this is top 3 for sure. The price was better then any fine dining in Edmonton. The dessert was the best I have had in years! The service was great with smiles and light conversation! We will be back!! Parking: Parking is right across the street
I will definitely go back again.
Wonderful experience!! Everyone needs to visit ERNESTs at least once. It is not like any restaurant I frequent. Beautiful plating, amazing fresh quality food, attentive and knowledgeable servers, Never felt rushed in fact felt super comfortable. Prices were very reasonable which I was pleasantly surprised. Thank you for a special dinner You guys are killing it
First time was today. I wont be our last. It is 5stsr dining on a budget
Absolutely fantastic. Couldnt match the experience in a restaurant. Vegetarian options: Such a wide selection. Its best to arrive hungry and sample all the options. Kid-friendliness: High chairs are available
Christmas dinner family ordered was not even close to what was paid for. Awful!
The food is delicious and it stands up to high quality dining standards even when the disclaimer is that these dishes are made by students. The menu is different every time I have come here so this restaurant is a new experience every time. Due to the ongoing pandemic, havent had a chance to try the table dhote (chefs choice three course meal) but I look forward to when it becomes available again.
Great food, great service, nice presentation as well.
My wife and I dined in before the third lock down . From the hostess to the waitress to the student chefs in the kitchen, our experience was just terrific. The food was artistically crafted and tasted very good. Portion sizes were descent and prices were reasonable in terms of fine dining. I had a dietary restriction, in which the kitchen staff accommodated me without an issue. A HUGE shout out to our waitress Carter! Personable and very accomodating.
Amazing food, great place for a date at an affordable. I miss the buffet, highly recommend the buffet if you have the chance to go. The students work really hard and it shows.
Great staff great food great service. Going back again hopefully soon
The dining experience, definately exceeded my expectations. Delicious servings presented well and very good service.
Menus need more descriptions on whats in the food. Had to send to items back because of allergies
I come here at least once a year and would come more often of I lived oser to NAIT. The food is cooked by the students and the menu is always something unique and special. Id highly recommend it for any special occasion.
Amazing food especially considering the place is run by students. Had a great time here for dinner as well as for the Friday lunch tiffin. Overall atmosphere was great as well and really enjoyed the food overall. Only real downside was that the service staff did not really engage with us and we felt quite isolated in the times when we needed to make a request.
Good clean place
This place is simply amazing!!! It is spectacular for lunches and dinners utilizing the kitchen as a laboratory for the students to perfect their craft. Aside from producing award-winning chefs, this place is also constantly creating and perfecting new dishes and meals!
Hostesses are very nice. It s actually a culinary lab for students at NAIT so the staff can t take tips. It costs 24 per person to have all the sample sized appetizers, main course, tapas and desserts. Some are served when upon availability.
This was probably our 6th or 7th visit and weve never been even the slightest bit disappointed. Ernest is, hands down, our FAVORITE place in Edmonton for fine dining.
It was our first time dining at Ernests and we heard many good things about the dining experience. We chose to dine in for Valentines Day in hopes for a great experience. However, we were quite disappointed. The server was not familiar with the menu, where items such as dessert options couldnt be answered. The palette cleanser after the first course was timed poorly as the main entree came out right after the cleanser. I chose the menu with wine pairing, but the wine wasnt brought out until we asked for it. The overall food quality was fair but it was heavily salted, leaving us with headaches after the meal. The quality may have been affected due to the busy service. Nonetheless, we do not plan to dine at Ernests again.
Went for Valentines Day. The 3course meal was amazing and had vegetarian option. I was super impressed with the food. I would go here again.
My fiance and I went to Ernests for Valentines Day. It was my first time there and I was very impressed! One of the best meals Ive had. It was quite reasonably priced too. I would definitely recommend it. Both my fiance and i loved it!
Amazing experience!
Devine as always!
The managers at Ernests are incredibly kind and their business is well organized. On top of being a great restaurant, they really look out for the interests of NAIT students. I would recommend giving them your business whenever possible
Fine dining restaurant.
Stopped in today for the inaugural Tiffin takeout experience. Awesome value, great food. I especially enjoyed the Mexican salad, duck terrine, salmon, and the beef shank was fantastic. See you in two weeks!
Good food, great service.
I would love to keep this place a secret, but there is room for more people here. The food is outstanding. For the price you cant get this quality anywhere.
The dining experience was wonderful; the chefs, bakers and hospitality students made a amazing meal. Wine pairing was lovely as well.
My experience there is always amazing. I have been there many times and I was never disappointed with the food or service. A must experience.
Pretty good for the price and well staffed by NAIT student servers.
The students really prepare an amazing buffet on Friday s. The variety is impressive and the flavours and quality ingredient are top notch.
I purchased the beef boxes from Ernests and am so impressed with the product. Presentation in the package was way more then expected. The person who picked up the phone to deliver curbside was very professional and so pleasant to deal with.
Was stranded waiting for AMA . Request a sandwich to go and Chef said NO, but I could have a seat in the restaurant and I would be served. Wish I knew what the Chefs name was. I told the poor little Server to tell the Chef that he was a D.... !! Appears to be an expensive restaurant, but I would not go back there even if my dinner was paid for. Very poor attitude on the Chefs part!! Also remember that it was extremely Cold!!
Great atmosphere and nice tasting food.
Outstanding meal and service, especially since it was Valentines Day and it was quite busy.
my favorite place to go to for for cruise meals and never a bad food
It was amazing great food it doesent get much better than that.
Very good buffet in Edmonton. They have a big selection of food and most of it is executed nicely. My favourites were the cured salmon and the oxtail.
Really good food
Good foods with so many choices of great deserts
Wonderful atmosphere. Ambiance was great. Food was impeccable. Highly reccomend you give them a chance to showcase their local talent for you foodies out there.
Amazing food, but sucks for parking.
Excellent food and service. They won top 100 restaurants in Canada in 2017.
Food was fantastic for the price and everyone is so friendly.
It was a Masonic event and we had the private room which was very nice. Arugula was ok if you like that. However the bresaola was very good and my wife did not want it and so I had double! The sorbet was fortified. It tasted like Absinthe but I cannot guarantee it. I am not sure if the alcohol hinders the cleansing of the palate or not. However it was very nice. The AAA Alberta beef tenderloin was prepared medium which is not my temperature of choice but because it was a set menu I could not get it rare. The consensus was more rare. It came with a truffle crème fraîche and mondavi Cabernet sauce and buttered oyster mushrooms. It was nice but not a significant taste and more lightly flavoured. The meal was capped off with a dessert of vanilla crème brûlée s with fresh berries and either coffee and tea. The service was fantastic. We are looking forward to returning to Ernest s.
Great food, great service and great prices. Highly recommend!
Very good food and presentation
Excellent food, great environment & decent pricing.
Exceeds expectations.
Food = Not bad. Lower your expectation, then you will have more satisfying dishes than I did. Service = Great although I found the frequency of our server checking up on us way too much - almost disrupting conversations. Wine selection = Extensive
This restaurant is amazing. My server Alex was a pure delight, he went so far as to make an off menu non alcoholic beverage for me because I wanted something that pairs well with my dessert. I cant believe such an upscale restaurant exists in this kind of neighborhood. The food and service were so good that I dont feel so bad after making a bad decision in the markets today.
Wonderful
Wonderful fine dining-lite experience.
Everything is amazing. Nice staff with good behavior. their serving style is also great.Food is delicious.
Such a wonderful experience filled with flavour and surprise with every bite. Whenever I dine at Ernests I feel like a king, everyone is friendly and so informative, and to know that these are only culinary students still developing there skillsets is very exciting. The culinary future of Edmonton and Canada as a whole is looking bright my friends. Please dont just take my word for it though, try it for yourself.
Great menu, fast service. Ive been here for lunch a few times and now finally dinner and its honestly my favorite fancy restaurant.
We were there on a Wednesday night. A group of six soccer parents. We made reservations ahead. It was a wonderful experience. Very reasonable price for a set menu that had enough choices. Food was delicious. Service was outstanding. And one of the few restaurants in town that is quiet and allows for nice engaging conversations without one having to yell. I am looking forward to visiting again.
We love the culinary flavors & quality of food from Ernest. Its definitely underrated & should receive more recognition. We just wish it were open on the weekend & extended hours.
I love their friday student showcase buffets!
Amazing
Went for their lunch buffet. So much unique and tasty food to choose from. It was a wonderful experience!
The appetizer scallops were melt in your mouth delicious. The cod with mushrooms and brussels was a fantastic mixture of flavor
