Elegant restaurant with a classic French menu, contemporary black-&-beige decor & patio seating.
Don’t get the gnocchi unless you are looking for oily pea soup, and be careful with group bills. It’s not the old The Marc, never will be, but there’s potential. Nice crowd. Great service continues.
Still a great lunch spot even with the change in management. Enjoyed a fantastic lunch with plenty of tempting options on the menu. The special cod and the schnitzel were standouts—both perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend and looking forward to returning.
Excellent food - steak frites is always an excellent choice. Would highly recommend trying to save room for desert. Well worth the price.
Can’t speak highly enough about this place. The food did not disappoint. The beef tartare might have been the best I’ve had and is a must try. For entrees we had the lamb and beef short rib. Both were delicious. Portion sizes aren’t skimpy. Top notch wine menu. Very good variety and at a better cost than most places of this scale. (Ask Ty for a recommendation, he knows his stuff!) Service had the professionalism expected from a higher end restaurant with enough personality to make the service memorable. Make sure you call for a reservation as tables (understandably) fill up fast.
Delicious food! Tasty cocktails! Amazing service! Highly recommend to everyone looking for a wow dining experience.
I had a great time at The Marc. The food was absolutely fantastic, with every dish tasting fresh and delicious. The service was also wonderful. The lady who served our table was incredibly friendly and kind, making us feel welcome and well taken care of. Overall, The Marc is a fantastic place to eat, with amazing food and excellent service. I highly recommend it!
This was a fantastic place to stop, and surprisingly affordable for how delicious & fancy the meals felt. I had the Flank Steak, lavender spritz, and the lemon tart for dessert during the lunch service. The staff were very friendly, the food was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was quiet. The place seemed to be filled with business folk gathering for lunch meetings or old friends dressing nicely for a much needed catch-up. The steak was a tender medium rare, the arugula salad was refreshing, and the frites were perfectly crispy. I couldn't help but nearly inhale the meal with how delicious it was. The lavender spritz was so good, I got two of them and asked for the recipe. It's a simple drink, but doesn't overshadow your food due to it's simplicity. I finished the meal with the lemon tart and really took my time to enjoy it with a cup of tea. The cream they serve it with cuts the sharp lemony flavour perfectly.
Went out for dinner, and the food was absolutely fantastic. The service was top-notch, with the waitress explaining everything thoroughly and being incredibly helpful. Additionally, the restaurant owners were warm and welcoming, creating a delightful dining experience. The ambiance was charming, and the overall evening was truly enjoyable.
Have been to the downtown one for a few times. Visited for lunch with friend again. Pretty cool restaurant, with the right atmosphere. Formal/semi formal. Daily fresh menu and lovely service from entering to exiting. Great for business lunch or any occasion that could benefit from a bit more formality.
Classic Edmonton staple - chef Eric made our visit a great night out. Would recommend for fine dinning.
Last night my wife and I had dinner for her birthday and they did not disappoint. We started with the beef tar-tar and it was excellent, the aioli they paired it with complimented it perfectly. My wife had the beef short rib, which was one of the best short ribs either of us ever had, I had the ribeye, which I do find a perfect medium rare is hit and miss at most steak houses but they got it perfectly prepared though out. Our service was excellent as well, the server did a great job recommending a full bodied dry red for my wife that paired well with her short rib. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our meal and will be back.
Ty the General Manager is delightful. My mother and I loved the food, atmosphere and experience, it was a perfect first fine dining experience for us. Our server Rebecca was also quite knowledgeable, personable and had great recommendations. We re already looking forward to our next visit!
We attended last night for dinner for the first time, what a great choice. The food, atmosphere and especially the staff were all so amazing. I highly recommend the duck and beef tartar, a special thankyou to Grace and Ty for making the night an awesome one! We shall be back :)
Great experience all around
Best steak in Edmonton. Probably my favorite restaurant, everything is so good here
Amazing food thats well worth the price. Absolutely fantastic service - easily some of the best customer service in the city.
It felt a bit strange ordering a burger in a French restaurant. However, it was fantastic. The fries were the best that Ive had in ages.
Had an amazing dinner here !! The atmosphere was very nice as well .Impeccable food ! We tried many things , scallops , tartare , crochets, escargot, arctic char , lamb , steak as well as the short ribs ( i think thats what it s called ) All delicious and presented beautifully, Excellent service and drink selections
This is the gold standard for a steak-frites.
Great dining experience! Knowledgeable servers who had a good understanding of the wine selection and how best to pair it with our meal. Steak and Duck breast was cooked to a perfect temperature, and the dessert was housemade and with the same care and attention given to the main. No premade frozen mud pies here. Overall with the time and money, 5 stars would strongly recommend.
We were at the Marc for the Sunday Supper Club. It was outstanding. Dietary restrictions: The staff is very accommodating regarding any dietary restrictions. Kid-friendliness: Im sure the Chef would whip up something kid friendly, however I would not take kids here.
Not quite sure how this restaurant is sitting at a 4.7 rating. Unfortunately, the arctic char was dry, overcooked, and served at room temperature, similar to the ribeye, which was not received as ordered. Out of everything, the tartare was by far the best. The escargot was basically tomato sauce with mostly cherry tomatoes. Certainly not worth the $200. There are many better options in the city for authentic French cuisine.
Overpriced and wannabe upscale...
Came here with a few friends for a nice evening out. Heard it was one of the best in edmonton, however that was not our experience. Our server was curt and and rude with us, using a tone often when a question was asked that would make one feel dumb. The food was mediocre at best, lacking flavour for all of us and two of us had ordered ribeye that came with a salad (that was quite good) and overcooked fries. The ribeye was NOT a ribeye, certainly not a steak that should cost more than $10. It was a new york strip at best, was clearly evident. This was extremely disappointing as it was a whopping $52 for a pile of arugula and a new York strip.
Had a wonderful dinner for two last evening at the Marc. We ordered burrata and paté served with sourdough bread as appetizers. We ran out of bread before finishing everything, and the server kindly offered to bring us more. We ordered Arctic Char and Duck Breast as the mains, and it was excellent. By the way, the cherries in the duck dish were a really nice touch. What a pop of flavour against the savoury. I enjoyed a lavender spritz alcohol free drink since I was driving, and my husband had a tasty old fashioned. For dessert I ordered the lemon tart...a favourite there that has spoiled other desserts for me, and hubby enjoyed the beignets. We decided to be a little decadent since it was a special occassion, and had a really fun date night. Even struck up a conversation with the couple next to us about the playoffs. A great dinner and a great night! THANKYOU
The Marc- never disappoints- Everything is worth a try. And the Chocolate Cake is a must- out of this world- wish I had the recipe
So pleased with the Butternut Tree s latest addition. Cinderella was an amazing waitress. The food was delicious. Highly recommend!
Small quiet restaurant! Food is quite good, nothing to rave about but very good! Service is excellent. Get the bread and the truffle butter ;) chocolate cake is good not great - have some wine instead ;)
We came back to the Marc after having an amazing experience here a few years ago. We had both really enjoyed the French Onion soup and were disappointed to see it is no longer on the menu. The service was excellent, as always. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. The food, however, was a different story. The bread and butter was fine and our croquettes that we had for an appetizer were fine. No complaints there. These dishes totalled less than $20 towards our entire bill. Our main dishes were not great. My partner had the braised beef short rib. It was basically soup. Our server brought him a soup spoon to use as it was very saucy this evening. The potatoes melted into the jus and he couldnt even taste them. When he made a comment regarding it, they brought him a giant bowl of potato puree to eat with the remaining sauce. I had the duck. It was not evenly cooked throughout, most of it was cooked enough to eat, however there was one slice that was entirely too rare for my liking. The accompanying parsnip puree with peas and leeks and cherry was okay. I found the peas dry and overcooked. Overall, not impressed with the quality of food for the price and unfortunately we are not planning to return at this time.
Service was excellent! A large group, and they handled it beautifully. The food was extremely disappointing. The lamb was very very tough, over salted, and served with only bell peppers and a heavy black pepper sauce. Strange combination. The scallop appetizer was lovely, but small, the croquettes were meh, being terribly bland. The bread was nice. The steak was terrible. Grisly and cooked badly. Served with fries that seemed pre made. Interestingly another in our party had the lamb and it was well seasoned and tender, they finished my lamb and said theirs was much better. The gnocchi was fine is uninspired. The desserts left a lot to be desired. No we did not complain to anyone about the meat, we were with a group we didnt know, no scenes necessary. Overall, it was fine, but the price was totally not worth it. Go elelsewhere, this was not French, or good.
Incredible evening, fantastic food... What more could you ask for?
Oh my goodness such amazing food!! The mushroom sandwich, the salmon and pear dish...to die for!! Had the amazing salad too on a different occasion...just amazing!!
We went for my friends bachelorette party and the food was amazing!!! There were 8 of us and food came out together and warm which in my experience rarely happens!
Fantastic French based menu, great modern atmosphere and the service was fantastic. I had the Entre Frites and was a great cut of beef - super rich and great tasting - guessing it was finished in a pan with butter and then topped with foie gras. The duck fat fries were also out of this world. Once again super rich but tasted great. Easy walking distance from the legislature. They were pretty busy so I would recommend making a reservation.
Rib eye was delicious. Service was second to none. The owner is very involved and friendly.
Drink overly sweet. Food was very salty. The seared scallops were good.
We went here for a birthday celebration and we were not disappointed. Everything from the service to our delicious meal was outstanding. I had the Short Rib dinner and my friend had the Arctic Char....DELISH!! We shared the Beignets - very light and yummy.
Knowledgable servers, minimal design, modern French menu always impresses, great wine and beer list, exceptionally well-balanced & formal food, but unpretentious and familial. The short rib and entrecote frites never fail to impress; the duck is wonderfully unctuous. Beignets and caramel are fantastic. Quite possibly Edmontons best restaurant, but definately my favourite fine-dining go-to.
I first visited the Marc in 2014 and it still is one of the best places (for dinner, special occasions, etc.) in Edmonton. The restaurant has a very welcoming atmosphere. The servers are nice and knowledgeable. In terms of food, their escargot and tartare are quite interesting. For entrees, their steak is definitely worth getting. I d give them 9.3/10.
Delicious food. Charming atmosphere. Great staff. Friendly, professional, courteous. A destination place. Everyone from the maî·tre dhô·tel to our impeccable server Charlotte was absolutely amazing. Parking: About 3.50 for parking for a 2 hour meal if you use the edmonton city parking app
The Marc was so good. We went for lunch and had the Halibut and Schnitzel, we were both thoroughly impressed. My wife already wants to make dinner plans since that menu looks delicious Highly recommend this restaurant
I find this review difficult to write as I wanted to love this restaurant, but it really missed the mark (pun intended). First off, the service was excellent. The hostess and waitresses are incredibly kind, warm, and welcoming. The atmosphere is also very warm, and as a bonus, there is free parking in the loading zone just in front of the building after 6pm. The issue with this restaurant is the food. We tried a variety of starters including the roasted bone marrow with crostini (a feature appetizer), the escargot, and the scallops. The bone marrow was simple - if you like the taste of bone marrow, you will like this. The natural flavour is not masked by seasoning and the pricepoint was appropriate ($17). The scallops were not the right texture (mushy), with an underwhelming taste, and you only get served 3 small scallops for $25. The escargot was not memorable, and as my husband said this morning when I asked for his input, all the appetizers we tried were meh. For mains, we tried the duck as well as the ribeye steak and fries. The duck and steak were both well-cooked, but that is the only positive thing I can say. The duck had some interesting accompaniments (sunchoke chips, some sort of pasta base, and an odd sauce), but although all components to the dish were interesting alone, they did not come together to make a harmonious, complimentary dish. For dining of this caliber, that is certainly what I expect. The Entrecote Frites (ribeye and fries) were also underwhelming. They were aiming for a natural meat flavour, not masked by seasoning, etc. The quality of the steak must not have been very good, as it was the worst tasting steak Ive had in recent memory. It was also the most expensive main on the menu at $50. The best part of the meal was dessert - we had the lemon curd. It was light but not as refreshing as expected - a stronger curd taste would have helped that. It was still nice as is and I think others would enjoy it. All in all, the food served at the Marc was underwhelming. We also tried cocktails and they were just okay. As an aside, they do have a variety of canned beers available (nothing on tap), but if you order Guinness and are expecting to receive the full can amount (i.e. 500mL), beware. They pour it into a glass (certainly not 500mL), and thats all you get.
Always Fantastic!!! We have never had a negative experience at the Marc. Patrick & Doris Saurette and their team are a true example of restaurant professionals. There are many reasons why this establishment is successful; food quality, service and atmosphere, but i would also add Consistency. These people genuinely care for their patrons. If you have a desire to enjoy fine dining quality food and service, The Marc is worth every dollar you will spend. Looking forward to many more visits! Thank-you
Dining at The Marc is a treat. The impeccably prepared plates and professional unhurried service make an evening out for dinner an event of significance. The appetizers, entrees, and desserts we enjoyed were artistically created, and we savored each to the last morsel. The Marc is what an elegant restaurant in a major city should aspire to.
One of the best restaurants in the city, if not the best.
Amazing food!!! Seriously! Amazing place in everyway!
Fantastic food and drinks. Super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.
Everything is excellent at the Marc! From the wonderful meals to the exceptional service. Consistently a superb dining experience.
Not bad, but would be considered an exceptional culinary experience with a Michelin star only in Edmonton. Unfortunately, this is Edmonton.
Food is OK, service is excellent. Definitely will be back for their Crème Brûlée!
Had dinner with my husband here tonight. It was absolutely delightful. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. We had the feature pâté, which was beautifully balanced in flavour. The escargot was rich and the homemade bread complimented the dish perfectly. The ribeye was melt in your mouth and perfectly seared. They split the dish as we shared the plate. The fries were ok - nothing to write home about, but it didn t impact our experience. The crime brûlée was divine and the wine prices were very reasonable. Our server was fantastic.
This place is a true gem it s my second time here 10 days between the visits, though it felt like yesterday as the wonderful people here remembered me, my previous order (wow) and treated me like a part of the family they seem to be. The food is STUNNING. Last time I had the incredible duck breast and chicken pate which was so good I had it again round 2, together with their signature French onion soup. My favourite restaurant in Edmonton so far! Highly recommended.
Excellent food, excellent service. Consistently good every time we go.
Always a wonderful experience coming here!
Excellent menu
Honestly this was an amazing lunch and the atmosphere was perfect. I would really recommend this place for business, family and any type of occasion. From the moment you walk in, you are greatly greeted and looked after. Their menu is so good I just wished I had more stomach to fit it all in. Make sure to book a reservation, kids friendly, great food and fair prices. Make sure you check out their wine menu as well and some of their functions. Hope you visit and let me know what you think. Keep on eating and have fun. #chicosreviews
An amazing lunch was had this week here. The mushroom toast & lemon tarts were beyond our high expectations. So flavourful! Service was perfect. I loved the virgin pineapple margarita: it tasted like pineapple lifesavers meets fresh squeezed lime juice- only $4.50!
Been comming here for 10 years ish for our anniversary with my wife. Food is amazing every time . Service is always perfect . The staff and entire resturant are everything a nice dinner should be .
Lovely evening. Everything was quite good. Our server however was great. We were two couples and she tuned in to the fun vibe. She was knowledgeable but also a bit sassy and playful. Made the evening. I stand by my point that we debated though: those are some pretty boring plain -jane fries.
If you havent been to this iconic restaurant, you need to rush to make a reservation!! Small but mighty, this place never disappoints. The exceptional food is only surpassed by the amazing service!! Book early and come often... the specials are fantastic! But do make reservation... the place fills up fast - for good reason!
The Marc is simply divine and consistent. The service is immaculate, and the food is spectacular. The attention to detail and service is a noticeably high standard. Lu was looking after us Thursday JAN 20, and she was not only incredibly professional, she was also personable. Our experience was a delight to say the least.
Absolutely fantastic. From being welcomed upon arrival by the owner Patrick to the good night while leaving, zero to complain about. Would argue one of if not the best French Onion soup in Edmonton and the other menu items tried equally as delicious. Oh and the Crème brûlée, exceptional. No idea why we waited so long to experience this gem, but certainly a restaurant we will return to.
Lovely restaurant, our server was incredible, she was fun and chatty, which made the night that bit more enjoyable.
Good quality Good and service
Our first time in downtown Edmonton, we decided to start exploring the downtown area to start out the day at this location. We reserved in advance and was greeted with very friendly ladies who quickly accommodated us in a big bright window seat. The seats are comfortable and the service was quick. The portions of our order was very generous and our palate was greeted with light, smooth, crisp, fresh, warm, delicious flavors that filled us up. The drinking water served was refreshing and clean tasting. This was a really nice start of our day.
Came to The Marc for a special family celebration. Eight of us were cared for by the wonderful Lou and her colleagues. We were not disappointed. Great service , great food, and real attentiveness to accommodating dietary restrictions without sacrificing enjoyable meal options. Continues to be one of our favourite restaurants in Edmonton....or anywhere else, for that matter! Highly recommended. Dietary restrictions: Great options for celiac and gluten intolerant diners.
Came here for my anniversary and was not disappointed. Service was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Food is top shelf quality without exuberant prices. Had fries with truffle aioli, French Onion Soup, Duck Breast, and Beef Short Rib Bourguigon. Its not cheap but the value is definitely there in the ingredients and chefs skills so the pricing is what I would categorize as warranted and reasonable. As for atmosphere I would describe it as welcoming and unpretentious which can often be an experience at some higher end restaurants. Surprisingly packed for a Wednesday evening on game day. Im glad to see that business is still flourishing for a restaurant in the downtown core. Would definitely recommend making a reservation when you plan to go. If youre looking for a great French dining experience, The Marc certainly gets top marks.
Absolutely wonderful food. And our waiter was amazing. But the guy who sat us at our table only asked one of the us if he could take her jacket. He didn t ask my mother-in-law or myself if he could take our jackets.
Ive been here on numerous occasions for supper. Kind of a French influenced bistro for lack of a better description. The food has always been top notch with a great selection of wines to wash it all down. Totally recommend.
It was my first time dining here for lunch and it was absolutely delicious! I had the omelette and found it very flavorful and filling! Will definitely go again!
Really nice, classic bistro menu. The service was above and beyond and had I the biggest porkchop cut of my life. Glad Edmonton has a place like this. Great cocktails - not too sweet.
I was very excited to come dine here after hearing great reviews about this restaurant. I flew in from New York with my colleagues, who recommended this place from the beginning food was nothing short of excellent, however, the atmosphere was surprisingly underwhelming. Being the CEO of my own company I am well versed in human behaviour. Based on what I observed while dining at the Marc were servers who obviously are overworked, stressed and exhausted. As a woman who thrives on inspiring my employees to ensure a safe and exciting work place, witnessing these servers was a bit dispiriting. I will not be returning due to the negative environment that I felt while I was there, despite how much I enjoyed the food.
First time dining at The Marc and we were very pleased with the incredible food and attentive service from the staff.
Enjoyed an incredible meal at The Marc. Service was friendly and detailed from phone call (I had to alter my reservation,) throughout dinner and to post dinner bubbles. The fresh flowers are a beautiful touch and all the staff I interacted with were pleasant and warm. Ill be back for their upcoming new negroni with Italian vermouth.
Another great dining experience at The Marc. The Downtown Dining Week offering we had was outstanding. The owners, servers, chef, and staff make The Marc a goto spot to connect with family and friends over fabulous wine and food. Everyone, both diners and staff are happy to be there, creating a great atmosphere.
This was the first true 5 star total experience I have had at a restaurant since before 2020. Amazing food, great service by excellent staff and perfect portions. I cant praise this restaurant enough. Bravo!
Great food and great service.
Incredible food, great staff and wonderful location
The food: fresh, quality, tasty. I enjoyed a 3-course menu. A tad bit on the salty side for me. The ambiance: comfortable, quiet, somewhat muted. The cleanliness: perfect, including washroom. The service: funny, down to earth, helpful. Prices were reasonable. Pay parking outside.
Edmonton on business. The menue is limited to only a few items, but they were good.
Incredible food - service- atmosphere- worth the trip
Excellent food and service. Wonderful staff.
Always a great experience. The food and the service were fantastic with great portions. The octopus was really tender and well seasoned. The escargots were well cooked and all our main courses were delicious (duck, chicken supreme and beef bourgignon) I highly recommend for any kind of celebration!
Great food, amazing service. Check it out.
We had dinner at The Marc recently and tried the charcuterie, house-made sourdough with Vital Greens Farm grass fed butter, entrecote frites (10oz ribeye steak with fries) and the market fish entree (which was an Arctic Char that day). The charcuterie and sourdough (with the butter) were not what I was expecting for a restaurant of this calibre. Would not order again if we were to go back. The ribeye steak itself was good although not great. The fries were too salty and the accompanying arugula salad was quite heavy. The highlight was the Arctic Char which came with beet and parmesan risotto and pan roasted brussel sprouts. It was fantastic! I would go back solely for the fish entree and would opt for patio seating weather permitting. Id recommend the fish w/ a glass of wine and perhaps a dessert instead of any appetizers.
Had an amazing dinner last night service was amazing, great wine selection the duck was cooked perfect! We will definitely be back!
Great service, great French wine. For the French traditional dishes, I am not sure why they put dill everywhere, it ruins the taste. (b uf bourguignon, gratin dauphinois, magret de canard) I recommend but if you want the French experience, ask them to go easy on dill / parlsey / etc. (They may have changed the staff in the kitchen, we went early 2022)
We had an excellent meal at the Marc! One of the best restaurants during our 10 day trip through Canada. It was the last meal of the trip and it was terrific. The homemade sourdough bread was amazing and the steak frites were awesome. Desserts were all excellent and service was top notch. Highly recommend if you are ever in Edmonton
Always good food with good wine pairing
The entire experience from start to finish was incredible. Doris was warm and welcoming. Melanie took incredible care of me and was very knowledgable about the menu and wine offerings. The wine offerings were top notch but the beer would benefit from a premium offering like Duvel or LaChouffe to compliment this incredible cuisine.
In the heart of Edmonton, this place offers a stylish and sophisticated setting, with a great ambiance, which is perfect for any kind of occasion; romantic, business or casual. The menu features a variety of dishes that showcase fresh, seasonal ingredients. The presentation is simple and elegant, and the flavors are bold and memorable. You must try the Scallops, Grilled Octopus, entrecôte and everything else in the menu The atmosphere is sophisticated and inviting, with a mix of modern and traditional elements. The service is attentive, super friendly and knowledgeable, with a focus on making each guest feel welcome and well taken care of.
Great food, vibe and service
From out of town but I always try to stop at The Marc for lunch or dinner. Parking lot across the street but there is ample street parking around too. Food is done very well and service is some of the best anywhere.
Staff was very accommodating, food was good but not as good as expected considering the hype. Presentation was very good though. Price was ok but a little over priced. Definitely needed more seasoning.
Great food
Phenomenal food! Always world class with great service, highly recommend!
I had the pleasure of dining with two of my best friends ever- we were inseparable in junior high and high school. The team at The Marc were aware of our reunion and supported us impeccably. If you ever need a special place to celebrate awesome times, do yourself a favour and make reservations at The Marc.
What a hidden gem of a French restaurant! I stumbled upon this place and decided to try their duck breast dish based on a recommendation. I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The presentation was elegant, and the taste was divine. The tender duck paired with a delightful sauce left my taste buds dancing with joy. The service was attentive and the overall dining experience was fantastic!
Incredible food and service
Another flawless experience at The Marc. I always come here with my cousin and her partner when Im in town, and Im always blown away by the quality of the meals and the outstanding service.
The pan seared cod special on Wednesday lunch special was fantastic. The service is great with a warm reception and pleasant servers all around. Plus my colleague couldnt stop raving about the dessert offerings. Food : 5/5
I used to live in Edmonton and this was one of my favorite restos back then. I came back for vacation last week (many years after leaving) and tried their fish of the day. Very happy with my choice and the fact that the quality and deliciousness have not changed at all. Food
As a real estate professional, I have had the pleasure of taking my clients to various restaurants for business meetings and celebrations. However, my recent experience at Marc was truly exceptional and left a lasting impression on both myself and my clients.
This is simply a delightful place to enjoy a top tier lunch/dinner with a loved one or a group of friends. I haven t been here for several years as I moved out of the area, but I knew as soon as I was downtown I just had to stop in for some dinner. The menu still has some of the classics I fondly remembered like the Arctic Char and grilled octopus and also had many delightful new dishes. The thing I was most shocked about is how they have managed to keep prices close to 2019 levels. This is my go to restaurant when I m in the downtown area, and this wonderful eatery has been consistently great for many years now. Do yourself and your tastebuds a favour and stop in when you desire quality food, beverages, and outstandingly friendly staff. I hope this community staple is here for many years to come as it truly deserves all of our support. With much love, Rob
A group of four of us saw the menu and had to try this place out. We stupidly did not have reservations and the owners seemed legitimately upset for us that they couldn t accommodate us. They recommended different places and even called them to see if they could get us a spot. 10/10 service and even though it didn t work out I would recommend them in a heartbeat. I got Patrick s name but not the woman. 10/10 human beings that are genuine and love what they do. Please support this kind of business, this is what the world needs more of. Congrats you two!
Our friend, Randy, introduced us to The Marc today and we absolutely loved it! Patrick is a delightful loving host, Beckie was a great server, and the food and atmosphere was spectacular! We will be back! Shon and Catherine:)
The Marc is Edmonton s greatest restaurant. The food is fantastic and the service is as well. I will be a life long customer. I recommend the olives, short rib and crab gnocchi!
Ive never had a bad experience here.
I went to The Marc for business dinner, food was amazing and services was also amazing, me as an executive chef I would recommend this restaurant for everyone who comes to Edmonton or lives here.
They accommodated my wifes Minieres Disease perfectly. Her Arctic Char was perfect. My crab gnocchi was delicious. The service was outstanding. Great find.
We went on a Wednesday night after an appointment, probably mid-week so there werent too many people. Everyone was very hospitable. The food is very delicious, I will come again next time.
Sincerely, this was single-handedly the best experience I have ever had in a restaurant. The food, the ambiance, and the service were immaculate. The food was not only reasonably priced and well proportioned, it was phenomenal. Our server, Luann, was a wonderful lady who was very genuine and took great care of us.
The Marc is a French casual/fine dining restaurant serving some of the best food in Edmonton. I call it casual/fine dining because even though the restaurant is formal, you will not feel out of place if youre not wearing a suit. The wait staff is friendly and not pretentious. The appetizers are well proportioned and varied. There are multiple appetizers that feature a large amount of bread, so plan accordingly. The shallots and pork belly is amazing, but very rich.
From the stunning food to the astounding service, this beautiful spot has to be the best dinner Ive had in Canada to date. We were greeted warmly, (even after making a very last minute booking) and welcomed like old friends. The venue is cozy and the staff witty and joyful. The food is both complex and uncomplicated. We enjoyed every mouthful of our beverages, entre, main and dessert. We sadly didnt catch our lovely servers name but she was marvelous and so caring! The owner Patrick stole our hearts and warmed our souls, more so even than the food. Hope to bump into you in Tassie, my friend.
Exceptional service and amazing cuisine; this restaurant is Michelin-star worthy. Perfect for an intimate date.
Omg! This is a new favourite! Date night dinner and everything was fabulous even from the smell of the restaurant when you walk in. Brandi was our server and she was an absolute delight, knowledgeable and funny .everything we could have asked for! On to the food, we started with the beef tartare (OMG!!!) and the salmon rillette. Both amazing and want to eat everyday lol! The mains we had the steak frites and Arctic char, both delicious but Arctic char stole the show! We will be back many times! Edit: Second time around!Always love the Marc! It was our second time here. We had a reservation but it was very busy and we weren t able to be seated for half an hour, the wonderful hostess brought us some complimentary cocktails which was greatly appreciated. Charlotte our server was fantastic and personable as well as knowledgeable. The beef tartare changes apparently so it was different than our previous experience, it was great just not as great as the original with a leek mousse which blew my mind! We had the fish and the boeuf bourguignon pasta the fish stole the show again! Oh and the pot au chocolat is to die for! Edit: Absolutely wonderful as usual. Service was friendly and efficient, everyone is so personable at this restaurant we love so much. We had the tartare, duck, gnocchi, and short rib. Everything tasted amazing and was beautifully presented but the crab gnocchi stole the show this evening Parking: Free parking on the street.
Fresh and taste food
First off, the customer service at The Marc is excellent. For a fine dining establishment they are kind, courteous, and professional. First time Ive experienced this level of care and attention to both the service and food. I had the entrecote frites - which was the steak, fries, and salad. Steak was excellent, tender, juicy and great amounts of fat. Fries were extremely good, the aioli that it came with balances out the saltiness and gives it a freshness. Arugula salad was great as well. Every bite of food just feels very tasty and balanced.
Good staff and food
We chose this restaurant as we wanted to celebrate a very special occassion. We definitely werent disappointed. Excellent service, even better food and cocktails. Thank you do much for adding to our awesome day. We highly recommend this location and will certainly be returning.
Dined there several times, have always enjoyed the operators, their service, the variety of cuisine, ease of parking options Parking: Very easy to find
Amazing food! Amazing service!! Perfect date night spot !
Their food is amazing and the service is really good , highly recommended!
Came for a date night. Ok the service was amazing, I wish I could get that waitress every time I go out. Food was very good. And the cocktails were awesome. I really enjoyed the quick delivery of the drinks and food because a lot of times am waiting for the drinks and waiting and waiting. Will definitely go back.
It was my second time visiting with my husband. We enjoyed very much, the foods delicious and service was amazing Especially the lady who served my table, she was such a friendly, kindest person. Thank you Lou Definitely we will come back soon ! Parking: Easy to find parking
Great location, excellent service.
Been here quite a few times. This was an equally good visit. Ambience was great. Food was exceptional and the service was amazing as always. I even had dessert and enjoyed it which is rare. The gift card helped cushion the damage which is always worth it anyways. Will be back of course.
So glad I found this place. The staffs were so nice and acommodating, especially with helping us arrange some seats at the bar to dine during the busier hours. The food was so delicious, especially their grilled pork chop!
Everything was delicious as usual.
Greeted by the ultimate hosts, owners Patrick & Doris set the evening with their warm welcome. The moment you step inside, the ambiance sets the stage for an excellent dining experience. A carefully curated menu provides a delicious selection of traditional bistro fare. The attentive staff, with their genuine enthusiasm, adds to the overall charm. An Edmonton dining experience not to be missed!
Fantastic food and service!
How have we not been here before? Its just lovely. The service, the atmosphere, the food, and the price was just amazing. My partner and I were pleasantly surprised by the escargot served on a bone yum! I had the feature which was pork and gnocchi, to die for ...and my partner had short ribs with noodles. Both delicious we will be back. Oh yeah and did I me the the price. No complaints from us!
Grest dinner. Looking forward to the patio
Absolutely fantastic! I had the escargot and bone marrow, then the moule frites. Both were falvourful and perfectly seasoned. The service was friendly and professional.
Amazing food, service, atmosphere... Id give 10 stars if I could!
The service was excellent and humorous while the food was truly spectacular! Our entire party enjoyed every bite and we had quite a variety of dishes. The atmosphere was casual but lovely. I highly recommend you give it a try!
Service was great! The food was amazing. Great place for a night out!
One of the best steaks Ive ever had the pleasure of devouring (haha it was that good). Amazing service as our servers continually made sure our drinks were full and made us aware of the varieties of specials and drinks available. Bartender made me the famous James Bond drink!. Cant wait to come back again :)
Food was good. A little expensive for lunch. No parking.
The Marc is the newest entry in my favorite restaurants in Edmonton. A classy and comfortable atmosphere accompanied by excellent service from staff that treat you like family. The food is exceptional and complemented by a great selection of wines and cocktails.
Excellent service, amazing food, nice ambiance. Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options available, but just one main dish (which was great) when I was there.
Disappointed. Went for a date night with my wife. We dont go out often and we were looking forward to a nice meal. Service was good, but the food was far from what I expected. My wife had the Artic Char. It was very good. I had the ribeye and was disappointed. I asked for medium rear and it came almost well done. Not really how I want my steak done. Flavor was good but there was lot of silver skin on it. I brought it up to the server almost at the end of the meal. My bad for not bringing it up earlier but I dont really like conflict. At least my wife had a good meal...
Excellent, great service wonderful food. Vegetarian options: Very lovely vegetarian option. I had it and the vegetables shone and were delicious with so much flavor Wheelchair accessibility: Lovely, wide, gently sloped cement ramp
Dont let the unassuming appearance turn away, this is a gem. The service was phenomenal, the food was great, the drinks were good, the servers were awesome and were great conversationalist who made other recommendations for our stay in the city. My recommendations are the artic char, burrata salad, and escargot.
Great experience at The Marc! Turns out owner extraordinaire is Patrick Saurette eastglen alumni! Fantastic experience!!!
Staff was great and the food was excellent! Kudos to all the staff
I have always loved this restaurant. It is always an experience. The hospitality and FoH staff will make you feel like you are meant to be there. The maître D exudes warmth. At my most recent stay, however, I was quite disappointed. My steak was not cooked appropriately, and you should expect better from a meal that can easily run up $100/person.
Food Poisoning!! Don t go there!! I called the restaurant 10 min ago to let them know, and she denied it from the start!! Remember people, people don t complain they just don t go back!! Decided to give this place a chance lastnight!! I puked my guts out all night since 3:30 am, diarrhea, chilled My girlfriend also was sick, I had to rush her to the hospital she was turning white.. I will NEVER GO BACK!!!! Terrible establishment why denied food poisoning? It s not a joke!! People can seriously get sick!! Take complains seriously!!
Came to The Marc For our 8th wedding anniversary. We Started our meal on a beautiful evening on their outside patio. We shared their crab cake, which was absolutely delicious overtop a bed of ratatouille and sauce I cannot recall the name of. We moved indoors and I ordered the duck option and my husband ordered their bison steak. They were really good! All the items on my plate had such unique flavors that you wouldnt think would be a good match, but they all paired really well together. With drinks, the crab cake, and meals we spent just over $100. The only downside to this evening was the amount of tiny little flies that were constantly landing on everything. My water glass, our cutlery, my face, arms, legs, one even landed in my eyelashes at one point. I wish we could have stayed outside but it was too uncomfortable after 20 minutes of sitting in the light swarm of flies. They were tiny green flies that shared similarities with aphids or lacewing flies. The waitress said it was an unusual occurrence though.
Great service. The tables have got nice separation. Great food.
Had the pork belly appy and the short ribs dinner. Outstanding. Might need a cardiac surgeon but its worth it. Great food.
Great atmosphere and food. Service was excellent.
Always surpasses expectations.
Duck Confit was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Absolutely delicious. One of Edmontons Fine Dining Gems.
The Marc is extraordinary. I believe it is the best restaurant in Edmonton. Lunch yesterday featured many delicious sounding dishes. I chose the pan seared rainbow trout it was positively delicious. The service, the presentation, the flawless meals, a friendly professional team. I couldnt stop myself from saying to a recently seated guest, the trout is out of this world. She ordered it too and loved it.
Fantastic. Location is unassuming, the inside has an understated elligance. We started with two glasses of champagne and fries which were on special. My husband ordered the Market Fish which was Arctic Char and I ordered the Duck. Both dishes were very amazing, all the ingredients were very well paired. The staff were also great! Our waitress was so friendly and really enhanced our experience! Thank you!
Excellent place to bring my mom to for her 65th birthday
Fantastic! We ended up here after a day of work and travel and it was just close to our hotel so wasn t expecting a lot, but we re pleasantly surprised. To start, the service is incredible. Our server gave us a great overview of the menu and was very friendly and attentive. The food was also incredible! I had the harvest salad and beef short rib. The flavours of both were perfect.
Great food. Super nice staff. Will be back
Love it!
We enjoyed dinner at the Marc tonight for my girlfriends birthday. We were all very impressed with the food (most of us had the Arctic char which was delicious ) and the service (which was friendly and accommodating ). Also, the chocolate cake is to die for! Will definitely go back.
Beautiful fine dining restaurant. The owner came around to talk to all the tables, which made us feel very welcome. I had the market fish, which was salmon. It was cooked perfectly, with crispy skin.
Fantastic French food with great service. The menu is on the smaller side but has a good variety, making choosing easier!
Wanted a nice lunch and we were not disappointed. Service was prompt, friendly and polite. We decided to share an appetizer and our mains. We started with the octopus. It was cooked perfectly. We had the croque madame and the mushroom on toast. Both were very good. Nice sized portions. Price was very good value for the service and food.
Even though they weren t open, they made time for me and help out with my request. Customer service is good as their food
We dined here. We shared the mussels, octopus and, rib steak. I ordered the rib steak rare after reading another review that they ordered it medium rare and it was too well done for their taste. This was a good decision as the steak was perfectly cooked. Octopus was perfect, mussels were good. I dock a star cause the fries were soggy and honestly not that great. They needed a few more min to get crispy outside. I d recommend offering alternative sides for this dish. Service was great and very professional.
Amazing food and service. The staff treat you like you re family! Highly recommend the octopus and potato appie and the beignets for dessert.
Super great service and food was great. Happy to see this resturant busy on a Friday :)
Excellent service and food! Must visit restaurant in YEG
The service here was outstanding!! The food was delicious as well. My husband is celiac and there were plenty of options. Definitely a great place for a date night. Dietary restrictions: They had lots of gluten free options.
The Marc is an institution in the city. Top notch service without ever feeling stuffy. Food is fantastic french faire.
This is where we go to be relaxed, satiated and downright gleeful.
Great edmonton treasure.
