Chef driven seasonal shared plates in a casual setting serving craft beer, cocktails, and wine.
I wish I had known about this place seven years ago - back when it first opened. Cool atmosphere, great service, and delicious food (which includes a number of tasty gluten-free options). Definitely worth checking out!!
Enjoyed pre Oilers game cocktails and share plates. Unique specialty drinks and decent craft beer and wine selection. Menu is quite distinct and 4 of us split two devilled eggs (as good as prairie potluck) And the tagliatelle pasta , gnocchi and 14 oz strip loin medium rare . Extremely flavourful and fun to sample. Servers were busy but kept pace as did the kitchen which was important to make puck drop. Only quirk - for reservation, you need to give credit card with $20 per person charge if you cancel, so be certain.
Cute little restaurant not too far from Grant Mac. Reason we chose this place was for the good reviews on the liver pate and they did not disappoint! It is a sharing plate restaurant which we knew before going and were quite happy with as we were able to try a number of dishes. From start to finish, each dish was so good. Our hostess/waitress was very friendly and prompt. We had a reservation in case there was a lunch crowd but we were the only ones there. Probably still a good idea to have one just in case. Hard to say which dish we liked the best - definitely try the parmensan soup and smoked olives...and of course the liver!
Family style shared dishes. Good vibes, good food and good service. We had the set menu and had a bunch of things like Bison tartare, Beets salad, kale salad, chicken fried skin, steak, roasted hens chicken. They were delicious.
Finally made it to Bündok after many years and was not disappointed, everything was delicious. My wife and I went for a date night and appreciated that all dishes were shareable, so we were able to try everything together, which was great. Our favorite dish was the gnocchi with mushrooms, which was super savory, buttery and delicious. The service was attentive and we always had water in our glasses. For dessert we had a citrusy posset, which is like a custard. It was refreshing and very tasty - the perfect end to a rich meal. We will definitely be back.
My partner and I went to Bundok for our anniversary dinner. Every dish was delicious. We started with terrine, tartine and fried chicken skin. The tartine was amazing. We shared the sausage and gnocchi. The gnocchi was so light and fluffy, it was like eating clouds. We finished with chocolate cake with cherry ice cream. The service was wonderful and the space is beautiful. Will definitely return!
The broccoli dish was fantastic! We also tried the beets which were great and the bass which neither of us would order again, we just didn't like the flavours. Don't expect to be full unless you spend a small fortune, the portions were not very big as it is a tapas place. The cocktails were great though and service was good.
We had a very enjoyable dinner here! Great ambiance, smaller restaurant with good service. We brought our 14 month old daughter and she loved the meal too. The food was amazing - humble ingredients with good flavor and unique sauces! We absolutely loved the gnocchi and roasted cauliflower. Yum! If you like sharing dishes with friends then this is the place to go.
The food was great and the atmosphere was very comfortable. Service was great too.
Wow Bundock never disappoints Best place for a date night Food is amazing and the service is the best Thank you for making our evening so enjoyable Parking: Parking around the corner reasonable price
Special occasion noted at time of reservation, well in advance. We were sat at the worst table possible. Back corner by coat rack, by bathrooms, by kitchen, by bar, and because of this it was a very loud and noisy , and not enjoyable. Also No mention of special occasion at all. Not what was expected, and disappointed.
Best restaurant experience of my life
The food was incredible, menu selection, execution, flavours, best meal ever! Great service. I don t have a pic because I ate it all!!
The restaurant is so dark that you can barely read the menu or see your food. The menu is quite small and when they run out of a menu item there is nothing to replace it with. There was nothing amazing about this restaurant.
Very special experience, service and wonderful food.
Yummy shares and great cocktails!
Went to Bündok for dinner tonight and wow. Top-5 Ive ever had in the City, Top-3 in the City right now. Buddy of mine and I split far too many dishes and everything was amazing. Timing of the food was on point as well as the service, Ill definitely be back.
Beyond Excellent!! Best place I ve been to in a while! Food, Staff, Venue .. superb! Highly recommend!!!
I really liked my time in Bündok. It was a special event for my out of country visiting parents. I have one small comment. If you serve your steaks without any side dish and your clients have the bill over 500 dollars, plus the tip up to 100 is expected, charging 5 bucks for extra bread is a bit offensive.
Best fine dining restaurant in Edmonton deserves a michellen star. Great place for a date, special occasion or even before an oilers game with friends. Food and cocktails are outstanding.
Went last night with my husband for an anniversary dinner. Seating is limited so definitely book a reservation. We also went during a watch party for the playoffs so parking was limited so give yourself some time. Food was great. Left full but not overly stuffed. For 2 people we ordered- olives and deviled eggs to start (these were a big hit with my husband so much that he asked for a second serving). Mains- gnocchi, which was light and fluffy Porkloin, which was so tender and delicious. Broccoli with egg yolk- im not a big egg person but my husband enjoyed the egg for me. Service was great. Our server made some recommendations that helped us along. Great atmosphere. Food was spectacular. Will definitely be going back and maybe with a group of people so we can sample more. We sat right by the kitchen so we got to see all of the food being played and it all looked so good! Thanks for having us Bundok! Can t wait to come back!
This is a great date night place or a night out with friends for some amazing tapas. Beautifully crafted cocktails and great wine list as well! The new items on the spring menu are amazing! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetable dishes that sometimes have egg or dairy with them.
We had won a dinner for two with wine parings at Bundok, and had not been before. The staff and the food were fantastic and the restaurant is on 104 St so it is easy to get to and would be a great place to go before a Hockey game. My wife and I had a great time and highly recommend Bundok!
A great meal, great service. The beet salad was . The nocchi was fab too!
We went to Bundok tonight to celebrate my birthday idea birthday. The food here was awesome as it has been in the past. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also very comfortable and inviting! Our server tonight, Meera I believe her name is, was awesome! She looked after us so well and made sure we were all enjoying ourselves! She recommended some awesome drinks and just made the experience all around enjoyable! Will be back again!
This is probably the top 3 best meals Ive ever had! My fiancée and I went here last night for her birthday and there wasnt a single dish we didnt love! They portions were also perfect. In my opinion, each dish had the perfect amount of food, and we were both very full when we left. They said their menu changes from time-to-time, but from our experience, anything you order will be delicious!
One of the best restaurants I have ever been to, an amazing experience that I must go back too
Absolutely phenomenal place, loved the food, vibe, service. It isnt cheap but it is certainly on par with nice restaurants in Edmonton and very unique
Our first time eating at Bundock was not the most enjoyable experience, nor was it memorable in any way. The food was odd unlikely pairings that made no sense, where the ingredients absolutely clashed. Most of the dishes screamed out that the chefs were trying too hard to make something unique by pushing too hard to fuse clashing flavours rather than let the simplicity of each base ingredient speak for itself. Everything was too much too many competing ingredients, too much seasoning, too many garnishes. Delicate and nuanced flavours of main ingredients were overpowered with too much smoke flavouring, too much lemon, shockingly poorly-paired garnishes or too many overpowering spices where the main dish got lost in all the junk toppings. This is not a restaurant that values simplicity or trusts the flavour of well-cooked, fresh ingredients to speak for the dishes it prepares. Lovely savoury dishes were drowned in sweet toppings or overpowering extra ingredients, ruining the enjoyment of both the base dish and the additional pairings in an unlikely clash of incompatible flavours. The grilled broccoli was burnt and acrid because it had been left on the grill too long, and throwing a deep-fried poached egg on top only made it taste burnt, acrid, and mushy. The gnocchi boasted a wonderful sauce, but the gnocchi itself was so overcooked that the dish was mushy, gluey, and tasteless. The panfried hen was overcooked and dry. We specifically asked if the scallop appetisers were made with real scallops, (or, as was our suspicion, pollock), because they lacked any texture resembling real scallops, and looked like compressed hockey pucks of stuff designed to look like a scallop. Our server swore that the scallops were real, and told us that she even checked with the kitchen to confirm, while they suggested that their preparation of brining and smoking the scallop might have eliminated the scallop texture and taste we were accustomed to. OK I suppose it s entirely possible our palate could be letting us down on the scallops issue, but we found the whole experience a poor value overall.
Amazing drinks, staff and food and what a cool atmosphere! We will definitely be back to explore more of the menu.
One of our favorites in Edmonton. Best steak in town hands down. Lots of shareable plates, perfect for a date or a great dinner before a game. Drinks are always amazing, never had a bad one even if it wasnt something I would normally order. Service staff are always welcoming and treat customers well!
Wanted to grab a quick bite and drink after a very long week. Food was great, table service was great. Will probably return! Snooty hostess though, thus removing a star from the review. We arrived right at opening to an empty establishment and were made to feel we were lucky to be seated though no one had our table reserved for 2.5 more hours? The same person appeared to be in a rush to remove our plates before the food was eaten? The waitress however was fabulous and the food did not disappoint. Work on the welcome Bundok, and 5* will be yours.
Great menu with delicious food, excellent cocktails/beer selection and superb service makes for an absolutely awesome dining experience every time!
A good time if you can afford it; pretty damn pricey.
We went in for a date night really wanting to like Bündok. The cozy atmosphere and attentive servers won them points but overall the food was a let down, for the price. We started with the ricotta tartine which was lacking salt and acid. The grilled broccoli came recommended from a friend but it again was lacking salt. The cook on the broccoli was great though. The beet dish was next which had a beautiful presentation but again was seriously lacking in salt and the goat cheese was flat instead of tangy. We tried the pork belly tonkatsu but found it overcooked and dry. The accompanying salad of cabbage and pickled mushrooms was fantastic though. By far, the gnocchi were the star of the meal and were without fault. The drinks were great but for the cost per item and the lack of seasoning on the food, I don t think we ll be back.
Soooo good. Cocktails were so yummy. Food was perfect. Atmosphere is cozy. I will definitely be coming back
We really enjoyed our pre-Valentine s day dinner at Bundok, and tried a variety of dishes on the menu. Service was attentive, vibe was cozy and romantic, and all the dishes were good - though nothing blew us away. All in all, a great option for a special occasion!
Great service and delicious gnocchi + Striploin steak!
The chicken skins and the gnocchi were my favourite! I will definitely be coming back. The food was delicious and the service was inviting.
We were recommended this place by a friend of mine. We walked in ans they opened and it was empty and they said they were full but could accomodate us at the bar. Both my partner and I found it excellent. The service was great, ambiance was calm and the food was delicious. The flavors were great. We had the soup to start I believe it was a mushroom soup but can t remember it was a couple weeks ago, the gnocchi and the chicken and we all loved it. Had no more room for dessert. We expected smaller portion so we ordered a lot but the portion were also very generous for the amount we paid. The soup was honestly to die for. Wish I had room for dessert! Will be back!
Cocktails was great!! Nice atmosphere
Go to date night space. This place never disappoints.
Had the best time at Bundok with my buddies before the hockey game. Got served up some great food and amazing cocktails. If you re looking to get some great tasting drinks, that you might not have tried before, go see Meera, she was super knowledgeable and friendly. Helped me pair my meal with a great tasting cocktail
Had very high expectations from the place in terms of culinary experience but it turned out to be mediocre..As a vegetarian we had very limited options.. Food was not balanced and was either completely bland or lacking salt which was not expected.. And the food had repeated ingredients and taste was exactly similar between different dishes because of that..We ordered Parmigiano soup which was good but than we Ordered their famous Ravioli and it had exact same soup as the sauce on Ravioli with very little modifications.. Food was tasting very fresh which was good sign but again not enough for their 5 star price point.. Cocktails different taste but were not balanced....The two drinks that we ordered one was over spicy and the other one overpowering peach soju... Their bar has potential but dirnks were very average for 21$ price tag... Moving on to ambiance place has a nice decor but its very congested as they tried to fit in as many table as possible in a small space..At this price point they should reduce the table capacity to half.. There was no walking space left once everyone had seated.. Overall an over priced experience for a average place..
Food and service is exceptional. Great location and ambience. Lest I forget, the prices is also fairly reasonable.
Had a fantastic dinner Friday night, incredible food, impeccable service, we ll be back.
Great food, great staff. Hidden gem of dt edmonton
We had an incredible experience where the staff picked the sharing menu for our group of 7. Can t wait to go back and would highly recommend to anyone.
Until tonight, August 11, 2023, Bundok was one of our favorite restaurants. Weve been going there since they opened, both as a couple and, for me, with friends and colleagues. It was always a special food and service experience. Tonight, we invited my sister-in-law who was visiting from Calgary to join us. She had never been there and we were confident everything would be as we remembered. The evening started okay. We ordered the olives, the chicken skins, the squash blossoms and a bottle of wine, which were tasty and came to our table quite quickly. The problem started when we ordered the kale salad, the gnocchi and the striploin. After more than 20 minutes when none of them had arrived, I asked the server how much longer we could expect to wait. She said, Hes working on it. No apology, no sorry for the wait, your food will be right up. Nothing. About 10 minutes later, the gnocchi came, followed by the kale a few minutes later. Again, no apology from the server for making us wait. No indication of when the striploin would arrive. Another 15 -20 minutes went by and still no striploin. Food was being served all around us. By now it was 7:15, wed been at the restaurant for 90 minutes, and were being virtually ignored by the server. Our wine wasnt being poured and we had no idea when wed get the striploin. Finally, my husband asked for the bill, and said we werent going to wait for the striploin. The server said, Oh. Ok. She made no apology or attempt to get us to stay. I stopped by the bar on the way out and asked if I could speak to the manager. The bartender said, Your server is the manager. Would you like to speak to her? I couldnt believe that wed just been served by the manager. When she finally came over, I expressed my disappointment and dissatisfaction with the evening. She asked was it the food or the service? When I said the service, she said, Well, Im sorry it wasnt up to your standards. Hardly an apology. When I told her that at other restaurants, when food was taking a long time to come out, I would usually get an apology or a reassurance or a complimentary dish or even in one case, an invitation from the manager for a complimentary meal at another time, she said, Oh wow. Ill keep that in mind for next time. I said, So youre not planning to do anything for me tonight? She said, I dont know what you expect me to do. I said, You realize Im leaving angry and that angry customers tend to leave angry reviews on social media? Yes, I know, she said. As the result of a manager who seemed not to care about our experience at the restaurant, Bundok plummeted from the status of favorite to dont know if well be back. We were embarrassed at how the evening ended for our guest and totally baffled by the managers attitude. I always give the restaurant the chance to make things right before going to social media but, in this case, I had no other option.
Yup. Great food, great service, great beer and booze. People planning this menu and hiring the staff get it. Went with a group of co workers, myself and a few others had to show up late and we were taken care of promptly and professionally. Next time I m in Edmonton I d make a point of coming back.
Amazing fall evening with chic atmosphere accompanied with great family
Phenomenal. Some of the best cuisine Ive had in Edmonton in my 11 years living here. The plates are inspired, interesting and straight up delicious. Great for a small group to share all the plates tapas style. Good craft beer selection too.
I had a chance to dine in this restaurant for my birthday. Food is out of this world, gnocchi are all handmade, beets salad is amazing, broccoli salad etc. Staff is very friendly and place is cozy. I will be back. Parking: easy to park
The service was fantastic and the food was phenomenal!!
This was our second visit and it was outstanding..! This might be one of the best restaurants in Edmonton, each appetizer and entree was absolutely spot-on..! Culinary excellence paired with a fabulous metropolitan atmosphere made for a wonderful evening thanks. Food
Had a great meal, great ambience, great service. My only suggestion is very limited wine by the glass. The range on white wines is limited, chards are the #1 consumed white, nothing close by the glass that resembled a chard. Expand your wine by the glass offering. Otherwise great spot!
Avoid the meat here my hen and striploin both fell far short of what I expected. I sent my steak back and they took it of my bill. Chewy, tough and no flavour at all. Its super over priced small serving and not up to the quality standards you would like for a place of this stature
Good , but so expensive
The food was consistently excellent. Beautifully plates and very tasty. Atmosphere is a bit on the noisy side, but this is not surprising for a such a small place. Sharing style menu. Expect to spend ~$50 per person. Food : 5/5
This is the best food weve ever had. We visited just over 2 years ago, and since then every nice restaurant weve been to we have compared to this place and nothing even comes close. The gnocchi and striploin in black garlic butter are unmatched. Do yourself a favor and eat here!!
Love the place
Saw that restaurant in top 2020 100 restaurants in Canada (#50btw) and decided to try it out. And it was fairly disappointing experience based on high expectation and fairly low outcome. Dishes that we tried are (chicken liver tartan, fried duck croquette, beef tartare, smoked papayas bravos, tuna crude, smoked jagerwurst). Small cozy place. Service is good. Presentation of food is good. Taste of food is nothing special. In fact stake tartar completely tasteless, and it feels like there are more celery than beef in there. All of food that we have tried testes way less than it is costs. Would not go back, as there are many other restaurants in Edmonton that cost the same or less but taste is way-way better.
It was our first time at Bundok and it was amazing. Every dish was delicious and unique and the cocktails were great. The bartender made a few dealers choice options that were also delicious. Great little spot for tapas and cocktails and we will be back to try the rest of the menu!
What a horrible experience. The website says they accept rapid tests, I booked a reservation and when I showed up the hostess said we refuse to serve you with a negative rapid test . Absolute disgrace to not follow the provincial guidelines.
I loved the ambience of this place. Food was delicious (a little out of my price rage which is why I chose not to give full 5 stars, but a good place to splurge on an occasional night out) Gnocchi was to die for, steak cooked to perfection and also had the Parmesan soup, just amazing!
Food was fantastic! Service was not great. The waitress forgot to submit our order to the kitchen and so we waited over an hour for our food to be served. She said she would make both mine and my partners drinks complimentary but charged us for one of our drinks. Also, she almost charged us for a dish we didnt order. Would have been a better experience if the service was better.
Try the chicken skin and the steak. The steak is 44 and its the best you have ever tried. Super friendly staff. Should have went here first.
Omg...... Best experience ever!!!!!! Staff are awesome. Food beyond imagination
Upscale food delivering on flavor. Shared plates so the portions on some of the appetizers are very small. Wine although good starts at $65/ bottle. It would be wise to look at the menu to make sure there is something that interests all members of your party. Excellent ambiance.
This is my favourite restaurant. Everything on the menu is delicious and thoughtful. I say outstanding aloud after each dish, I can t help myself. My go to is the parmigiano soup! The drink menu is comprehensive. And the owners are so down to earth and friendly. 10/10 recommend!
Great food and pretty affordable
Our experience at bundok was good. The atmosphere was quiet and the service was nice (a bit on the slow side). I will say, every single dish we ordered felt like it was missing something to tie it all together. One exception was the parmesan soup, it was absolutely fantastic, you must order it. Often the bolded ingredient on the menu was the least amount on the dish. For example the squash was really apples with some squash and the kale was really a giant pile of cabbage with a small amount of shredded kale. Someone else noted the price was why they gave 4 stars and initially I thought that was not fair. You should expect the price to be higher for a quality meal. However after eating here and ordering a $44 steak (cooked to perfection), I realized this was in no way a $44 cut of meat. It was tough and flavorless if not for the garlic sauce included. I probably wont ever eat here again but the meal itself was still good. Just missing something to truely make it 5 stars.
Ok,that was a good good good food, that was good The french guy very very very enjoy the pâté, the crudo, euh, oh, i do forget the beef tartare And if you want to lick gour finger at the end try the chocolate torte Very lovely, lovely, lovely ladys if you start de conversation or you from industry. Lot of fun tonight Thank you guys to make my last night in downtownv Edmonton a Wonderful souvenir
First time here for me. Second for my wife. Great food, great drinks. Miranda was wildly good at her job and made our night. Her candid and honest vibes made me feel like we were BFFs 4 lyfe. Eat the snacks cause theyre delish.
The food was amazing! Its a little pricy thats why I gave 4 stars.
Super service and a nice interior with some outdoor seating available. But what sets this place at the top of the rankings, is the food. Every dish was a hit and beautifully presented. Have you had Parisian gnocchi? Well.. not made with potatoes, it was light, fluffy and I wanted more! The dessert, a lemon posset, so easy to make, yet so delicate and light. A great way to finish a dinner, the addition of the mint was perfect. As for the cocktails... Excellent!
We had a great meal of shared plates here. I recommend the sirloin, the cauliflower, the broccoli and the gnocchi was amazing! Great service.
Food was ok, not good enough for the price. Service was good
A shared food experience with limited non alcoholic options. Tea offered is a plus. Soups and other appetizers were good. Steak was also cooked well, but all food was quite salty just before the point of no return. For the price and rave reviews was disappointing.
AMAZING food, with a great atmosphere for any small group or date night! Each dish was perfectly crafted and deliciously unique. Had a perfectly lovely evening!
Always amazing food, and their drink list is now arguably the best in the city.
Awesome food, small menu done right. Definitely go back. Great service, food and drinks.
First time to this amazing gem of a restaurant. Will not be the last The food was amazing and so was the service 10 out 10
Very tasty, food looked beautiful on the plates, service and ambience were also fantastic.
Amazing food, great portion sizes for the style of food. Great cocktails and they have a dealer choice where the bartender to make you something creative and amazing. Came for an anniversary dinner and they made the night extra special. Only issue is with the drink menu... font, bit too whimsical, making it tough to read.
Excellent
Bundok was really good. The cidered pork belly was phenomenal, and so was the squash and cruciferous vegetable salad. Of the upscale Edmonton restaurant Bundok deserves it place. I also really appreciated the value driven wine list. Its great to see a list that has a focus on the French Languedoc; it is an excellent, less well-known region with cool varietals.
We won t be back. It took an hour to get the 3 dishes we ordered despite being the first 2 customers in the restaurant and ordering within 5 minutes of sitting down. The food was very average, but for the price much much below average. There was only one server for inside and outside, meaning it was extremely slow, we were never asked if we wanted more drinks or dessert. And after we asked for the bill, the server never brought the machine around, we had to go in and track her down to pay because she never came back
Aside from the slow service, the food is not worth the price. I m not talking about the size of portions either as I understand it is shared gourmet food but as a simple comparison, you can get the same type of shareable food down the street at Tzin for the same price and I can t even begin to explain how inferior this place is to Tzin. Overall, I had a poor experience beginning from cocktails, to food, and finally service. Was excited to try it but definitely won t be back. I tried the pork belly, tartare, and cauliflower.
Delicious food!
Awesome food and great service! A little shocked to read all those bad reviews. We thought the wait was more than reasonable and timing was perfect - by the time we were done with one dish, another one was coming to our table. Well definitely be back.
We ordered 5 dishes, tuna crudo, fried chicken skins, beef tartar, carrots and peaches, and mushroom gnocchi. The tuna tasted old, or maybe it was just the oil. The fried chicken skins were pretty tasty, and the cheapest thing we ate. The beef tartar was tasteless, even the mustard. Was it covered in wax? The carrots and peaches were overly covered in oil and lacked flavour. The mushroom gnocchi was nicely seasoned, and topped with crunchy breadcrumbs for variety in texture, but also overly covered in oil. It was so oily I couldnt eat much of it as it started to turn my stomach. Everything was heavily salted, and needlessly so. For the quality of the food it was over priced. We sat outside on the patio, which was just an eating space on the sidewalk. The tables were cheap and rickety, with just 3 legs on a four-cornered tabletop. A server placed a bluetooth speaker at the door of the restaurant and proceeded to blast music at such a level conversation was hard to hear.
Really enjoyed the Honeypunch cocktail. Was a perfect balance of sweet and bitter. The service was great aswell.
Amazing food. You have to try this place
Really amazing food. We enjoyed the Gnocci, Kale Salad and Striploin in black garlic sauce. Would 110% order them all again.
Had high expectations for this restaurant based on all the reviews and was genuinely excited to try. Disappointed as the food was mediocre at best. Ordered the tuna crudo, fried chicken skins, mushroom gnocchi, and carrots. Tuna was fresh, but nothing amazing. Chicken skins were a tad overfried but still tasty. Mushroom gnocchi would have been really tasty if it werent so salty. Roasted carrots were good, but too greasy. The dishes we tried were either underwhelming due to lack of seasoning or overwhelming with grease and salt. Also they decided to turn the music on loud shortly after we arrived. Too loud to carry on a conversation...my husband told the server but nothing happened.
Unreal cauliflower dish! We love coming here for any special occasion or just a fancy Thursday dinner
This is a shared plate restaurant. The gnocchi were delicious.
Look.....the Gnocchi is CRAZY. No need to talk about anything else, dope little spot.
We sat at the bar. Food and drinks were delicious and great service as well!
Gnocchi here is probably the best I ve ever had. If you come at night, the lighting is quite dim and the restaurant s acoustics are loud. You have to raise your voice to hear the person across from you.
Very tasty, great ambience. Love the small plates. The menu was diverse it s a nice range of veggie and meat options. Friendly service. We had a lovely evening
Drinks were terrific. Small intimate atmosphere. Highly recommend for date night or girls night outs!!
Great restaurant and one of the best in Edmonton. Many of the dishes stay the same but rotating features. Very trendy and beautifully designed spot downtown and still somewhat hidden from the public. Highly recommend the parmesan soup, so rich and creamy but best to split with two people. Prices are super resonable and everything is spot on. Have had nothing but wonderful meals at this spot!
Wowzers. Yum.
Amazing food and environment. Best fried chicken skin I ve ever had
Truly memorable experience. 90% of the dishes were OMG. You will not be disappointed.
Great food, great service
Awesome
My wife and I were reminiscing fondly (and hungrily) about our night out at Bündok last week; we wanted to thank our wonderful server Kayla and the chefs for what was a truly lovely experience. Thank you all. We will definitely be back soon.
Very cozy restaurant with amazing ambiance. My family and I love the portions of the shared plates. The parmigiano soup, tagliatelli lamb ragu and beef tartar were out of this world in flavor. I highly recommend them. The duck and pork were unfortunately quite salty but still amazing with unique flavors. I do also wish they had a better by the glass wine selection. But all in all great service, good food, and knowledgeable staff.
Chicken dishes were quite salty. Pork was overcooked. Service started fine but slowed considerably.
Great little spot. I used OpenTable to book the timing and requested a quiet, private spot and they Nailed IT! The hen was AMAZING, very juicy and tender. Brocolli and cauliflower, were great.. going again.
Very enjoyable. Good food, good drinks. Great for date night or with friends.
Really good food, best cocktails we had in Edmonton. Lovely cozy atmosphere.
Absolutely incredible! The bartender made some amazing drinks going with dealers choice, absolutely incredible and blew me away. The steak tartare was exceptional, as were all the dishes we tried. Excellent and knowledgeable service. Absolutely recommended, 10/10!
Amazing dinner. Every dish was elegant and tasty. The cocktails were a hit, complex yet balanced.
Took my friend here for his birthday. Will definitely be back! Service was great and the food was delicious. Loved that they have menu items a part of the meal share program.
Do yourself a favour and visit this establishment, you won t regret it! Unreal experience from start to finish. Will certainly be back!
Disappointed in our meal here. While the service and drinks were great the food was a problem. Our first dish was the tagliatelle which was decent but our next two dishes, the gnocchi and the cassoulet, were terrible. Im sure they would have tasted fine if they werent salt bombs. The gnocchi had a nice texture. The cassoulet with the sausage was completely inedible. Im sure we just got a couple of bad dishes for whatever reason, but Im not sure if were taking the chance again.
Great food!!
Incredible!! From the service, to the food, and everything in between. My mouth waters every time I get to go back. I just wish I lived closer to Edmonton so I could visit regularly.
Fine food!
I m highly disappointed with this restaurant. We had our anniversary dinner here. The food was not at all delicious and it was too salty and sour. I had heard it was a nice and unique restaurant. But NO it s not at all. This restaurant has an Average ambiance, It s overly priced. The portions are very small/ tiny. ( I m not exaggerating) even they served non-alcoholic mocktails in tiny glasses like shots. I ll neither visit this place again nor recommend to others.
This is the best restaurant in Edmonton. Nuff said.
not impressed by the service
Weird plate concepts that didnt really work together (when you ordered a couple to share). Expensive.
freaking delicious. dauphin potato was awesome.
An absolute must try!
Fantastic meal. The Gnocchi was our favorite. Cant recommend this place enough. Great cocktails too.
Amazing try the gnocchi!
Great meal. Strong work by the Bündok team!
Great food in a trendy casual atmosphere. They prepare their food in house and take care to plate it well, as you can see in the photos. I recommend this place for a date and the service was great. Small menu in keeping with designer restaurants. Everything we had was delicious, if you want a treat head here.
I was visiting Edmonton for 6 hours from Montreal and a man from here helped me with the parking machine, just wanna give 5 stars because he was beyond helpful and really went out of his way to help me. Damn good man and I will never forget how helpful he was, thank you for everything. Drinks on me if you ever come to Montreal
My favorite Edmonton restaurant. There isnt a bad thing on the menu. Love the beats, beef carpaccio, gnocchi, and broccoli. Great service and can always accomodate without a reso.
Amazing! Gnocchi and kale salad to die for!
Beautiful presentation and the food was delicious!!! Best tequila sour I ve ever had.
My favourite restaurant in Edmonton hands-down! Cant say enough good things about this place. The food is delicious (best gnocchi!), service is fantastic, and the owners are very charitable/community focused. We are so lucky to have this place in Edmonton :)
This is the first time Ive been here and Id definitely go back. The atmosphere was nice and the food was delicious. We asked the waitress to surprise us with 8 dishes and they were all excellent. The steak was one of the best steaks Ive ever had. The gnocchi was really good as well. Great service as well!
Very disappointing. Not sure how they made it to canadas best 100 restaurant list. Nothing about this place impressed me. The food was half good, service was half good and also the place looked half good. Nothing we ordered tasted delicious. We hate wasting food but we had a whole sausage left over bc neither of us wanted to eat it, and we didnt even want to bring it home so we had to waste it. The beef tartare was okay though. And its end of September... they are using summer ingredients (strawberries, corn, etc)... In addition our server wasnt so pleasant. Not a good experience overall. If you are looking for somewhere nice to dine-in in the city, I would recommend Biera or The Workshop Eatery.
I go here all the time and every time I visit, it s a new experience with new suggestions from very knowledgeable staff. Delicious cocktails, flavorful dishes and a trendy atmosphere. I love to bring friends from out of town here and it s always a place people want to return.
This place is fantastic. This is the first place my wife and I want to come to on a night out. The food, the drinks, and staff always amazing. The Gnocchi and Parmesan soup are incredible. Even the music playlist is always a treat.
5 star meal and experience. Our friendly and knowledgeable server paired our meal and wine perfectly. The quiet ambiance made for a memorable date night. We will be back. Thank you Bündok.
The restaurant was highly recommended to us, but we were really let down by the quality of food. Our fennel salad was almost inedible because of the amount of spice that was on it and the gnocchi was so over cooked that it was falling apart on the plate. The service was great however and our cocktails were truly delicious, so maybe it was just an off day. Will go back, but I am in no rush to do so.
Good ambiance, service, food, and clean washrooms!
Bundok always delivers amazing flavor that will blow most diners away. Everything I have had out of the kitchen tastes amazing! I really recommend the sea bream - it is both elegant and delicious with the same great flavour punch I expect from all of Bundoks plates. It hurt me to read the bad reviews because I have eaten here many times and never has something not tasted good. Will be back many times!
Great cocktails and amazing food presentation
Great food with a different menu than most other restaurants in downtown. The chicken skins and gnocchi were unreal. Old fashioned was also done very well. Have gone a few times at this point, and havent been disappointed yet.
Excellent meal from the salad to the dessert. The gnocchi and kale salad were fantastic!
Great drink list the food is great but menu is small and changes often
Great experience overall, had a reservation for 6pm and all was good with that. Drinks were ordered and came timely. Mine was good and boozey but the wifes was on the too sweet side, we like to taste our booze. So she went for a glass of red wine after.the food came. We ordered the beet salad, roasted cauliflower, gnocchi and the striploin. 3/4 were excellent but the cauliflower didnt quite wow me or the wife. The gnocchi was outstanding. Will definitely return to sample some other dishes on the menu.
Is there a better place to eat in Edmonton than Bundök? If Canada was awarded Michelin stars I m sure this restaurant would have one. Inventive dishes with delicious flavors, sharing-style meals, and great cocktails. Order 4-5 dishes for 3-4 people and share for best experience. If you visit I MUST recommend the sea bream crudo and the broccoli with egg. Every dish is a knock out. This is the hen (I would have more photos but we ate too quickly!!!)
Great local restaurant. Knowledgeable server that suggested the right number of dishes for our party of 3. The pace of the dishes was well-timed. A few standout dishes (pomme dauphine, chicken skins, lamb sausage), some that were just okay, but none were bad. Would recommend coming with a group to try as many dishes as you can. Cannot speak to the drink or dessert menu, but both looked interesting.
I had heard incredible things about Bündok. It was recommended to me by several friends who noted that the food was absolutely incredible (the Parmigiano soup especially!) and they had a great cocktail list. My husband and I decided to go there for our wedding anniversary and check it out. We were greeted by a server who asked if we had a reservation and we said yes. She did not take us to our table but instead pointed in the direction of where it was and said there s your table . We found that a bit odd, but brushed it off because it was quite steady at the restaurant and she was probably busy. The service continued to get worse. My husband and I ordered drinks he ordered a beer and I ordered a cocktail. My husbands beer came to the table first about 10 minutes before my cocktail. The server nearly threw the beer down and said here . When it came time to order, our server would not make eye contact with us. I tried to be as friendly as possible but I got the feeling she did not like us from the moment we walked in. The service continued this way for the rest of the evening. Any time she came to check our table it seemed as though she wanted to be anywhere but there. She wouldn t look at us and had her head turned towards the bar the entire time. Everyone has bad days, and I hope that this was just a one off. It was just too bad that it had to happen on a very special dinner my husband and I had planned for a while. With that being said, I must note that the food was incredible. The Parmigiano soup was the best soup I ve ever had in my entire life! I do not eat pork and the kitchen modified my soup to come without bacon. We ordered a beet, plum, and goat cheese salad which was delicious. lastly we ordered the pan roasted hen which was cooked to perfection. A different server brought us our main course and was a breath of fresh air. She smiled, looked us in the eye, and even made some small talk with us. Would I go back? Probably. The food was awesome and so was my cocktail!!! I just hated feeling so awkward and almost scared every time the server came to our table.
I recommend this place. Everything that Ive tried from here has been very tasty and the atmosphere/service is great.
Great cocktails... mediocre food.
This was my third time at Bundoks and it was once again an amazing experience. We were joined by our world traveled friends who appreciate fine restaurants. Our server was very knowledgeable on not only the food menu but the beers offered. We shared 5 plates, chicken liver tartine-excellent, kale salad nice and crunchy with a nice hit of tartness, gnocchi-melt in your mouth goodness, hen-moist and delicious, striploin -very tender and fantastic with the onion jam. For dessert we had the posset and it was a great finisher to a wonderful evening. I look forward to our fourth visit. We need to try the beets! Thank you to Chef for an amazing meal.
The food here is amazing.
