Developed by Elisa Zenari, Ran Huget, and Giancarlo Zenari, Dalla Tavola Zenari is a warm, authentically Italian atmosphere in the heart of downtown Edmonton. Surrounded by the lights of Rice Howard Way, Dalla is the perfect spot for friends and family to meet, eat, drink, and enjoy the good life.
We cannot thank Dalla enough for making our wedding day absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we started planning, they went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect and that our day was nothing short of spectacular. Their team was incredibly accommodating, making sure we felt supported and cared for every step of the way. It truly felt too good to be true, but it wasn’t – everything was even more magical than we could have imagined. The staff made us feel like family, and we will always be grateful for their kindness and attention to detail. We’ll cherish this day forever and are so thankful to Dalla for helping make our dream wedding a reality!
Dalla Tavola Zenari is a charming spot for delicious Italian fare! The pasta is fresh and perfectly cooked. The warm, inviting atmosphere makes it a great place for a casual meal or a special occasion. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the overall excellent dining experience!
Food was excellent, had the Rissoto, Di basco, and the Pollo today. Di Bascom was light, creamy, and the mushrooms were very soft and made the pasta feel light as well. Noodles were also perfectly cooked The Pollo was a Flatbread with cheese, chicken, and pesto. Pretty close to a pizza, but with higher ingredients. Butter on the complimentary bread was wicked good.
My husband, myself, and our friends visited Dalla for the first time last night for the Glass of Sask Chefs Table Giveaway and were blown away! Executive Chef Roman and Chef de Cuisine Oleh Haidysh outdid themselves with the food - everything was absolutely delicious from start to finish. As well, the service & atmosphere was amazing - cozy and colourful - and we had a wonderful time. Will definitely be returning in the future!
A great place, with beautiful decor, comfortable seating, a Lively but a calm Italian restaurant. Food was good, we ordered Risotti Spinaci (Spinach, Home Cream Sauce, Parmesan Cooked with Arborio Rice)✴️✴️✴️✴️✴️ and D'Anatra (Slow Braised Duck in Home Tomato Sauce with Long Pasta)✴️✴️✴️✴️, We were served some Dinner Rolls with two type of spreads before we got out food. Our Server was polite and friendly. Will be back to try other Food🍝 and Beverage 🍷🍷
We came here last night for our anniversary dinner and it was a wonderful experience! I ordered the Di Bosco pasta with an Aperol Spritz. It might be the best pasta I have ever had. The service and quality is top notch at an affordable price. We will absolutely be back!
The waitress and bartender/host were really nice! The food was serviced promptly, tasted amazing and large portions. Definitely recommend their house specialties and you should make a reservation if your going for dinner as when we were there (3/4pm ish) most of the tables were already booked for dinner service. Def will be back :) also the patio is super cute!!
My favorite restaurant hands down. They have the best staff and best vibe, no matter if it's a brunch, a lunch date, or dinner with friends. I especially recommend the Lasagna Bianca. They have several vegetarian options and they are very understanding and careful with any substitutions or dietary restrictions. I have come here a few times now but today I was served by Nancy and she was phenomenal, so kind, energetic and attentive. The grapefruit italian soda and the iced tea is amazing. For starters I'd recommend their cheese board or their bruschetta. It's light and refreshing.
Cant say enough
Really noisy. Food was pretty good. Pasta was very nice and service was friendly.
Warm, comfortable atmosphere. The food was very delicious. Drinks were good, too. The waitress was quick and nice as well. Food
IMAGINE THIS. Its Wuntch time (show reference?!). You go here with your friends and get some grub a dub dub. Pretty good. Interior is exquisite as I was quite a fan. My sandwich was great, soup of the day was good. One of my coworkers unfortunately did not enjoy his white lasagna as it was too rich. Overall, my experience faired better as I thought overall it was a good meal. Maybe Ill be here for dinner one day but I kind of doubt it since I aint too fancy schmancy like that low key lowk.
The vegan pâte is delicious!
Amazing food.
The atmosphere was very inviting! Although we did have to wait a rather long time for the waitress to take our orders, we understand that weekends are busy and they do the best they can :) I ordered the Di Mamma - Chicken breast, pesto & roma tomato in house cream sauce, which was delicious. I only wish the portion was a bit larger!
TAKE-OUT CONTAINERS LEAK - WHAT A MESS!!! It had been a while since I ordered from Dalla Tavola Zenari (Zenaris). I used to frequent this eatery a couple of times per month at its old location. Today, I was in the downtown area for the first time in a long while, so I ordered my favourite pasta dish for pick-up. I first went to nearby Sunterra to pick up an old fav item that I always bought to go with Zenaris pasta, also not ordered in a while. When I went to Dalla Tavola Zenaris to pick up the pasta, it was waiting in a stapled brown paper bag with a twine handle. I took my items straight home, and when I unstapled Zenaris bag, it opened to reveal a huge mess of olive oil pooled in the bottom of the paper bag. The pasta dish has olive oil in it, however, Zenaris used way too much oil and it was literally pouring out of the sides of the closed food container, which had not been tipped over nor accidentally opened in the bag. The brown paper bag had been upright the entire time, and the oily mess was all on the bottom of the bag. Thankfully, the brown paper bag was made of thicker, higher quality paper or it would have ripped open at the bottom and the food would have fallen out. My fingers were dripping with oil after I tore the bag open to carefully pull the carton out sideways, so as not to tip it even slightly. The top of the carton was clean, except for where my dripping fingers touched it to pull it out of the bag, but the bottom of the closed take-out carton was completely dripping with oil. After I carefully transferred the food (not the oil) to a plate, I snapped the carton closed. The remaining oil in the carton easily leaked (literally poured) out of the sides of the closed food carton if it was tipped even slightly, illustrating that it was not an appropriate container for pasta sauce/liquids/oil. Incidentally, my fav dish from Sunterras also had a bit of olive oil in it, but Sunterra wisely uses a better snapping to-go food carton that held liquids in and also properly wrapped their food container with saran wrap, as they had done for all the years Ive been ordering their item. However, not so with Dalla Tavola Zenaris. A huge mess - Zenaris, would you like to pay my cleaning bill?! They had not included any napkins, which presumably would have lessened the mess as they would have helped to soak up some of the oil. They also didnt include any cutlery, nor did they ask if I needed any. If memory serves, this pasta dish used to come with a bun - also MIA. Only a leaky food container was in their paper bag. Further training is needed to remind staff of past common-sense protocols to use plastic wrap on a take-out container having liquid/sauce/oil, as this important detail has been forgotten. Alternatively, you might wish to invest in better containers that snap shut, saving you the trouble of using so much plastic wrap. Another note regarding staff training: if a customer orders a pasta dish that is on the menu and has been for several years, it isnt a good look for the hostess to ask the customer, Is that on the menu? I repeated the name. When she still didnt recognize it and wasnt looking at a menu, I told her it was a pasta dish. It was a quieter time, mid-afternoon on a weekday, and the restaurant was fairly empty. Having said that, the atmosphere of this new location of Dalla Tavola Zenari seems to have prioritized the bar over the restaurant.
We had our wedding here and it was awesome!!! Wife kept saying how easy it was to deal with them from the logistics side and the food was unreal. I can say without a doubt this was the best wedding I ve ever been to.
Walked over from the Westin for a break from some meetings. It was quick and efficient. Thank you!
Highlights were the lasagna Bianco (rich, decadent) and panzanella salad!
Wonderful! Service, food and ambiance were exceptional. Classy management.
Best bruschetta in town! I have had lunch here twice and there isnt anything Ive seen or tried that wasnt outstanding.
Walked into this restaurant by chance while looking for somewhere to eat supper. Service was great and the lady at the bar (clearly a regular) was extremely helpful. She recommended a couple dishes and was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed this family owned restaurant and the lasagna was excellent.
The closest dining experience to Italy, regarding quality of food and affordability, In Canada from East to West coast. Homemade using fresh ingredients. Dishes are large enough to be shared. Best Canadian restaurant Tirimisu Ive had. Staff was very pleasant and attentive. Feels like a hidden gem not advertised.
Nice place for Italian! Lots of good plant based options!
A very enjoyable meal here with a nice open and light atmosphere! Good service, good food for a good price. Can t go wrong.
Service was great and food was amazing! I recommend the salami honey crostinis as an appetizer, and the gnocchi as a main course, it might ve been the best pasta I ve ever had. Atmosphere is very pretty and welcoming as well.
Quite disappointed with the overall experience. The beef tartar has no flavor and the presentation is poor. Two scoops of tartar on two slices of dark rye bread on a dark plate. No color and poor presentation. I asked for salt and mustard and I was given a salt shaker..... I ordered the pasta Nera as main. They didnt provide a spoon with my pasta and the pasta are all broken into pieces. Taste was okay. But the pasta was starchy with no texture. You can tell it is house made pasta, but not good quality. Disappointed by the over all experience. When I spoke to the staff, they said this is how the pasta is. They did remove the charge of the pasta. Wine list is acceptable and the atmosphere is good.
As soon as we entered the restaurant, we could smell the tempting aroma. Our group went there just before the Edmonton full marathon the next day for carbo loading and nobody was disappointed. Salads were nice too. Loved my spinach salad while others liked their caesar and other salads I enjoyed my garlic and chilli flake pasta in olive oil EVOO (was offered long/short pasta and I chose short.) The others had bolognese, Di Mama, pesto etc. (forgot the rest). We also enjoyed the delicious food and the good service. Thanks.
I loved the food here. It is very bianco sauce based. There were so many options. I tried most of them and loved it. Full of flavour. Definitely go here for dinner. Service was excellent as well.
I really wanted to love this place :( I appreciate the story behind the restaurant, and the family traditions that inspire the menu. I dont want to write this place off because I support local, and also support businesses that are inclusive and community oriented, but I think I came on an off night. My partner and I went for dinner on a Monday night. He ordered the lasagna, but unfortunately they were out. He decided to order the Salsicce flatbread- it came out and wasnt great. It was bland, and doughy on the inside; the presentation was also kind of lacking. It just looked... bleh. I ordered the burrata salad and the carbonara - which I was SO excited for, but unfortunately after I ordered, I found out that both were out. I decided to try the Affetati (selection of cured meats, cheeses, preserves) and was pretty disappointed by it. I think I expected more of an elevated experience from an Italian, upscale restaurant. The selection of meat and cheeses were underwhelming - akin to what youd find at a standard grocery store I couldve gone to Safeway and bought the same genoa salami, asiago, capricollo, provolone etc. Plus, it was clear that everything was pre-made and covered with plastic wrap to be served up. All of the meat and cheese were kind of squished into the plate from being covered, and some of the meat/cheeses were beginning to crumble - almost like the meat was purchased pre sliced from a package and prepped hours before. Again- wasnt horrible, but I would expect more of a exceptional spread for the price point, and the type of restaurant. For dessert we got some gelato, and the flavour I wanted was out :(. I think they just had an off night, but we left kind of disappointed. The space itself is beautiful, and our server was good.
I love it here. Ive had the salmon entrée several times, the Gorgonzola pasta but my go to is the de Bosco with gnocchi and the Panzanella salad. Delicious food. Generous portions. The have increased their prices a bit in the last couple of years but I think everythings just starting to cost more. There was a couple of times that I went where I noticed that portion size was suffering shrinkenomics but then when I went back again and it was not the same situation. Im glad they give you lots of food. I dont mind paying a dollar more to have a generous full serving! The ambiance is great. I love sitting in thebooths. Theres lots of entertainment outside on the sidewalk being downtown Edmonton if you know what Im saying. The place has a great vibe ...its active with both younger and older and people that just appreciate a fantastic Italian eatery. The Zenari family recipes that have withstood the test of time. Im just so glad that the next generation has kept these recipes alive and opened up such a lovely place to eat.
Amazing AMAZING pasta
Italian restaurant in downtown Edmonton. Nice atmosphere and great food
I would hands down recommend going to this restaurant. For starters, the environment is great, it was a very calming yet distinct vibe to it that really made you feel that you were here for an experience worth your time. My friend had reserved a table, however we came a little late, and our hostess was very friendly and welcoming. It was personally my first time coming. The food was wonderful, the service was great, we even got a free iced tea (it was a faulty order, but worth it)! Definitely would recommend as you pay for the delicious food and the experience. My new favorite spot, and I don t even like pasta that much !
Really nice lunch. Great open atmosphere. Totally enjoyed.
Amazing food. Absolutely divine gnocchi! 100% Authentic Italian food and family-owned and operated.
Great food and great people great variety of different types of meals. Prices are also reasonable.
A chic Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown. We did a tour of the antipasto/starters - all were excellent, and I am hardpressed to pick a favourite. One standout was the Welcome Bread, which came with 2 types of butter, dill and leek. Both delicious but the leek was a table favourite. The element of anticipation is present during the mains, as you choose a dish and the chef chooses the pasta, based on your request for long or short. At our table we had Di Brosco, white lasagna, scallops and orzo, carbona, and a flat bread. Service staff was friendly but not rushed. A nice pace for a birthday dinner evening. Thank you Dalla - see you again!
This restaurant is among my top favs in Edmonton. The layout and furnishings is so cozy and stylish, and my heart is warmed each time as I see all us folks sitting in are met with kind, sweet welcomes. This place gets super busy and fast and yet they try to ensure everyone has a great experience. As a vegan they have the most amazing options. My tummy is always left super happy and satisfied after a visit. 10/10
The food was awesome and the atmosphere was great. The service was, big shoutout to Nancy and Julian who made sure we had a great time!!
The food was amazing and the service was incredible. In particular Nancy and Julian really made our group feel welcome in spite of our large number
The food was really good and service by Jessie was excellent. I had perfectly cooked scallops from the summer menu. Risotto with duck confit was delicious. We highly recommend the Fig appetizer.
Great service, I havent had service that good in a long time. Food was great.
Like their food, tasty and the server was good too.
Everything was very tasty and the service was spectacular
My husband took me here last night for my birthday dinner and we were both pleasantly surprised. The food portions are quite large, menu is priced very reasonably and the food itself was spectacular. (The duck pasta was especially good - I woke up thinking about it) 10/10 would recommend!!
My favourite place in town! Excellent for going out or a date night. It does get very busy though
And the patio is dog friendly.
Buyer beware! Prices are actually 30% higher and their excuse is that Google is out of date But even if you look at the menu or their website, you have to be aware of the fine print!
Got seated, sat on the patio for 20 minutes, no service (other than a glass of water). Unfortunately had to leave as we were hungry and thirsty. If it was crazy busy, I may have been more patient. But had servers walked past us like we were not even there. Food
We came here as a large group and perhaps that was a mistake. We reserved a table for 8 on a Friday night. The service was just very slow. We finally got our drinks, my wife s cocktail was very good. Something with lemon I believe. Drinks were all quite pricey. Someone even commented that we might have to Uber eats some McDonald s if the entrees took any longer. I got the pasta Bolognese, which was ok but my wife s is way better. She got a salmon that she enjoyed. The food here is good but for the price you can get better Italian in Edmonton. What drove me nuts was when we got the bill there was an automatic 20% tip added to the bill because of our table size. Sorry but our service was not worth anywhere near 20%. 10% would have been generous. I might come back but not as a group. I think the poor service tainted my overall experience. I might have gone 3.5 stars since the food was quite good. I shouldn t have ordered a dish my wife has perfected.
Amazing portions and tons of cheese. Super good value for the price. Lasagna was A+ and their salads are delicious.
Great Experience! The staff who serves us is accurate and knowledgeable. She serves everything right. Nice!
Only had a beer. But it was cold and wet. Wish they had some kind of stout on the menu, but oh well. Still ok. Cant comment on the food though.
The Salmone is perfection. Great service and atmosphere.
I have to say it was a very nice place. I really have nothing to complain about ,waitress is very helpful. The food was very good like everything really about it.
We booked Dalla for a special even on a Friday night and I cannot express how lovely the evening was. The atmosphere of the restaurant is amazing with the beautiful and big windows facing south and east letting in lots of light. The decor of the restaurant is simple in its elegance. Layer on top of that amazing food and service and you can only conclude that Dalla is the real deal. We had an amazing evening with all of out guests (including those with garlic and other allergies) raving about the food and how that were looked after by the staff. I highly recommend Dalla for an exceptional dining experience downtown. Vegetarian options: Out entire event was vegetarian, and the food was amazing. From the appetizers (e.g. bocconcini skewers and chickpea stuffed mushroom caps) to the mains (veggie lasagne, roasted vegetable, fish) and desserts. Everything was delicious. Dietary restrictions: Dalla accommodated a wide range of allergies, include garlic, coeliac (gluten free), and dairy. Kid-friendliness: We had a number of children at out event, and Dalla offered high chairs and booth seating options for the kids, and well as specialty drinks for the children.
Food was great, nice interior and decor, staff was polite. Loved the Paté in particular.
The dates are spectacular as an appetizer. I enjoyed my salmon dish and a lavender lemonade cocktail. Great service and atmosphere.
Food was very good and service was excellent
This restaurant was recommended by a local. We came in as a group. Gray service, great menu, and goodbye. The restaurant was energetic and stuff looked like the Android working here. We had great service and meal. I did enjoy my carbonara very much.
The service and food here is always amazing!! Been coming here for over a year for work lunches and we re never disappointed. Vegetarian options: My go-to is the Vegano sandwich with a side of the tomato soup (both are vegan). This meal set is so flavourful and always hits the spot!
We celebrated a shared birthday (myself and another friend) here last night. It was our 2nd or 3rd time visiting Tavola Zenari. Obviously I liked Zenari, had a good experience from our last visit, good Italian food etc. Last nights however, wasnt up to my expectations. This was mostly due to the service. The lady who was servicing us did everything by the protocols; but I (as well as my friends) felt we werent quite welcome at the restaurant. Im not exactly sure why. no smiles or any welcoming gesture; rushing us to order; asked us twice to get drinks, while we were waiting for the forth person to arrive; as soon as she arrived (maybe 5 minutes after our reservation time), she asked us again to order; happened again for ordering the meal; I could tell something about us was irritating her. My fiancé called the restaurant in advance and asked for a small cake; they totally forgot to bring that in; but we didnt even want to remind them about that, because I wasnt having a good time there. Food wise, still good food. I ordered a flatbread pollo; it was fine. Being an Italian restaurant, I would have loved them to offer an actual Italian pizza as well; but I totally understand, serving pizza requires a proper pizza oven etc. still would be a great addition to the menu. A positive comment about the restaurant/our server: they were kind enough to bring us a nice complimentary bread and butter board, which was appreciated. Overall, 3 or 4 out of 5 experience; not quite sure I would return.
Quaint bistro. Friendly service. Very tasty and generous sandwich
Definitely a treat to experience this in the heart of downtown. Beautiful atmosphere, amazing service and my now GO TO for Italian decadence. Thank you cannot wait to go back and bring my date :)
A charming place right in downtown Edmonton. I noticed that there are always just a few people there, which always made me a bit wary. However, the food, atmosphere, and service were excellent and they were attentive to my allergy to onions and garlic. Well done
Absolutely fantastic! My cousin had her reception there. The service and food were top-notch!
I was at a private event in the restaurant so I cant tell you about the menu. I enjoyed the food they made for the event. My drinks and latte were perfect and the service was above and beyond. The seating area is on the main floor. A wheelchair can manoeuvre into and around the room but some areas would not accommodate one, like the booths and are a step up from the floor. There are no automatic doors to get in or out of the restaurant. In winter, it was breezey near the south entry doors, so try to be seated away from the doors if you dont like cold air. The south entrance from the street has a small entry and a double set of doors to deal with and is tricky without help in a wheelchair. There is an entry from the west inside the connected building on that side of the restaurant. That would be an easier entry if you can find you way into that building. There is also a door on the east side near the bathrooms but I dont know if its used or locked. The bathrooms are down a narrow hallway. The bathroom doors are on springs to keep them shut so would be difficult to get in and out of alone in a wheelchair.
Absolutely stellar experience at Dalla Tavola Zenari! As a wedding planner (The Pop Up WeddingsYEG / LAtelier Design) , I had the pleasure of hosting a reception at this establishment, and I couldnt be more impressed. The owners and staff went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, and their professionalism and helpfulness were truly commendable. Not to mention, the food was absolutely delicious - our clients and their guests couldnt stop raving about it! From start to finish, it was a five-star experience, and I cant wait to bring more events to this wonderful restaurant in the future.
Very pleasant atmosphere good service staff especially bartender Galina, a professional.
This place is a gem. Very friendly staff every time I visit. Fast service, elevated atmosphere, and their food is something else. I tend to go for a simple Risotto or Gnocchi. Last time I wanted to share two dishes with a friend and they offered to serve half-dishes on separate plates. Top service. All in all - they consistently deliver beyond the price tag.
I decided to have my wedding at Dalla it was the best decision I made. The food was amazing, the staff was exceptional, the owners were so great to work with and the space is so beautiful. They were so accommodating!! Definitely recommend hosting a party or wedding here! Photo credit to seannaleafphotography
We had the beef and mushroom gnocchi as well as the chicken pesto flatbread and both were a thumbs up from us. The flatbread base was surprisingly light and crispy which made it even better. The staff were incredible, attentive and friendly. We had the chance to speak with the owner/manager and she was very pleasant. Parking can be a bit difficult in this area, but that is no fault of the restaurant. We will be back!
Incredible as always!!! Amazing food and great staff!
Amazing all around. Go here for anything, the food will not disappoint you at all. Staff is super friendly and were able to accommodate us even though we didnt have a reservation.
A charming Italian restaurant with a modern yet warm vibe. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Tried the porcini risotto and it was delicious. My friend has the beef brisket gnocchi and it was also excellent. A lovely place to spend a few hours with friends and the prices were very reasonable too!
My boyfriend and I stopped by tonight to celebrate his birthday, and we could not be happier with our location of choice. We were promptly welcomed and seated upon entry. The environment and atmosphere was gorgeous; from the location of the bar to the lights and greenery, you could just tell there was ample thought put into the decorations. The food was absolutely delicious from visual presentation to taste. Our waitress Hana was very sweet and attentive. From her infectious smile to upbeat energy, it s clear she cares and enjoys what she does. Service was quick, and we felt warmly welcomed and comfortable. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience tonight, and Dalla has been made a first choice for future nights out. Thank you again, Hana!!
The food was absolutely delicious and the service 10/10! Cant wait to go back!
Well, oh, well. That was delicious! Went to Dalla Tavoli Zenari. We had salad, the date appetizer, pasta and chicken and dessert - don t bypass those cherry mascarpone filled eclairs. We were very happy with the food. The server was so pleasant, engaging and helpful, without being intrusive. It s a lovely restaurant and was so nice to see how the staff work together, and that they enjoy being there. This also adds to a nice experience. We will return soon! Thank you.
I work in Enbridge Tower and Dalla is my home away from home, hands down the best items on the menu is the Asiago Chicken club and the pesto pasta (we have tweaked it to include chicken, mushroom and kill it with cheese). The Casa tomato is my second favorite, comes with extra crispy croutons and cheese homemade and extraordinary. The service is amazing and it s always a pleasure when I go there 10 outta 5 stars!!!
We decided to celebrate my friends birthday here and we were absolutely impressed by the delicious food and the outstanding service! Nancy, our waitress, was amazing in providing us with top-notch service. Her friendly and approachable attitude made our experience even more enjoyable. We will definitely be returning in the future!
Comfortable seating with a nice private layout. The food was delicious. Feo. The appetizers to the main course. The service was amazing. Very friendly and interactive. Would definitely recommend.
We went during lunchtime on weekdays, and it was a rush hour. Hostess was rude and demandingly took over the side table we had. I ordered a pasta dish where I requested artichokes replaced by mushrooms, which was not done. Luckily, I didnt have an allergy, just the dislike, which I figured out late after eating a few bites, so I didnt want to waste my collègues time as the food order was anyways delayed. Red sauce did not taste anything like a good Italian restaurant but more like bottled sauce, plus not enough cheesy flavor. Our server was friendly but was mixing up d order among 7 people dining. Rosa salad had beets that were not fresh and had thread like chewy center. Vegetarian options: Available but more like vegan and hardly any cheese added
Love the food! Love the people! Beautifully designed space! Great venue for lunch downtown or book for larger group events in the heart of Edmonton
Menu is delicious, kid friendly with lots of plant based options. Service is excellent, kind and welcoming. Vegetarian options: Amazing plant based options that are unique and flavourful. Loved the cashew parm option as well! Kid-friendliness: Kids love the pasta pomodoro
Very generous amount of cheese. A bit too salty for my taste. Decor is absolutely gorgeous though. Vegetarian options: Clearly marked vegan options in menu.
It was fine. Risotto a bit too cheesy for my taste (very slightly underdone). Bruschetta was ok. Pasta was otherwise standard.
I dined here with friends last night. Agnus was our server. He was great, so knowledgeable about the food and wine pairings. Looking forward to coming back soon.
Love love love! Service = amazing. Food = amazing. Value = amazing. Atmosphere = amazing. Pro-tip bring a sweater, it can be drafty.
Gorgonzola Gnocchi is out of this world! Edit to add photo: we went back for the gnocchi our server was Ashley and she was such a sweetheart!
Kahlua coffee was perfecto, try the carrot cake if you like cream cheese icing, it s killer.
The vibe was awesome in here. Definitely would recommend booking a reservation to get a table by the string lights, which we did not have, but those tables looked so nice. The servers were awesome and very humorous, they made the experience very memorable. The food was really flavourful, you could tell it was made with fresh ingredients. I will definitely be back for the vibe, the price point, and the delicious food!
Food was good, but service was lacking. My waiter was uncommunicative, and even when the restaurant is empty (not busy at all), he took forever to take orders. He was getting dessert options mixed up and said the special was a pistachio panna cotta when it was actually a pistachio tart. I waited over an hour for my pasta and he never checked up on me during that hour; I should emphasize that the restaurant was not busy, and he definitely was not busy either.
My girlfriend works nearby and likes to go here for lunch. So today I joined her and we ordered separate pastas. Mine was the Di Basco and my girlfriends was the Di Mama (she always gets it when she goes so she s had it quite a few times) though when our order came both the pastas was the Di Basco instead of 1 being the Di Mama. My girlfriend sent it back to be re made but instead all the chef did was take the same pasta and mix in pesto instead of making the correct dish. Very disappointing. My girlfriend felt bad already so she just sucked it up and ate it. But it should have never happened. We don t blame the waitress at all, but the chef needs some work because that s not how you fix a dish that was screwed up. My girlfriend loved this place but this ruined it for her
First time being there and loved it! The atmosphere is really nice, prices are reasonable, and there are a lot of vegetarian options. Our waiter, Justin, was awesome. Well definitely be back!
Fabulous experience for dinner! Amazing service. Friendly and informative. Risotto was my favorite
Terrible food and severely understaffed. For a restaurant mere blocks from the arts district and Rogers Centre, they should be staffing in anticipation of events. There was one server (who did an excellent job) for the entire restaurant (15-20 tables), and our food came out soggy and cold when it did arrive. Our first round was comped, but even on a good day there is no way the food could be above average. Do not recommend.
Update: Went back for take-out dinner on Feb 10th 2023 We had the Lasagna Bianca, Panna, Di Bosco, and a Tuscany salad. Everything was absolutely delicious. You usually can t get food that tastes fresh like this, at this price point. Dalla Tavola Zenari is worth the trip to downtown Edmonton. - We went here on Feb 1, 2023 for lunch. A great little restaurant with bright ambiance, and attentive service. We had a tasty chicken panini sandwich. It was so good we ordered a couple of more at the end of the meal to go. We recommend this as a go to lunch spot in downtown Edmonton for sure.
Cold when the door opens Not enough booths. Great food Food : 4/5
A must in Edmonton! Grateful its downtown! Excellent Food Service and Ambiance Food
I used to work downtown and loved going here for lunch. I cant have dairy so pasta dishes can often be very boring for me but their options are so darn delicious and you dont feel like youre missing out one bit. Cant wait to go back much better than the food at Bianco in my opinion
my new favourite place
Food and atmosphere are A+ 10/10. Took myself on a date and the destination was a no-brainer.
Servers were very nice and attentive, but cold seating by the door, gluey gnocchi and bland gorgonzola sauce.
We waited for over an hour almost an hour and a half for our food! And the server didn t even check up on us during that time. Not saying that it s the server s fault, why is a restaurant seem to be understaffed on a Saturday night? The chicken parm and carbonara were okay at best. The only thing good was the di mamma gnocchi which I understood to be the owner s mom s favourite. We had even called ahead to see if we could get a dessert ahead of time for a birthday we were celebrating and there was no recollection of such thing by either the hostess or server. We had to remind the server of it, which completely ruined the surprise. Not to mention, we were only given one plate of bruschettas whereas we were expecting 2 and the server made it seem that we only ordered 1. The only good thing about tonight was the panna cotta. Was looking forward to trying this place out. Was thoroughly disappointed.
One of our worst dining experiences to date. The draft from the door kept coming to our table so it was very cold. My partner and I ordered 4 things, 2 appetizers and 2 entrees Everything came out all at once! Also, our server took our order and never came back, never checked on us or anything (the host brought us the bill and the machine to pay). We will not be coming back.
Delicious food, great prices and the service was absolutely wonderful. Would definitely eat here again.
Was pretty good! Stopped in randomly for lunch. The service was a little slow but the food was delicious.
We booked a reservation at Dalla for Downtown dining week, and I m sure glad we did! We were a bit chilly near the entrance, but the staff were so accommodating when we asked to be moved. Unfortunately the wine we wanted wasn t available, and again they made it work by offering us a great alternative and price matched as well. The staff was so friendly and polite. The food and wine were excellent as well. Can t wait to come back!
Always my go-to Italian places that are more on the comfort and quality side. Their food is so unique, at a great price and even better quality than you should be paying for. Nothing tastes mediocre, all the drinks taste great (especially the Razzo & French 75), and the environment is absolute beautiful! The service is good, not the greatest because I would usually find myself searching for a server. Overall, a definite hidden gem!
Very good!
EDIT: deleted my original review. Elisa brought us back a second time to make up for the last time my wife and I was there and WOW this time the food and service was amazing and very delicious. We ordered the pesto pasta , Gnocchi, Rosa salad, & salmon Crostini. Will definitely come back with no doubt. 10/10 recommend this place and 10/10 for food & service.
Had an amazing time, food was amazing, service was even better thanks to Lukas, definitely coming back, thanks so much!
Food was sooo good and Lukas was the sweetest server ever. The Italian salad was to die for and the veggie Flatbread was so flavorful. Service was amazing. Thanks Lukas
I first stumbled upon Dalla when we were supposed to go to Bianco last summer, but Bianco was full. I was glad that we ended up going to Dalla because the food and service were exceptional. The place is also very airy, bright, and inviting. I was very impressed as the pasta was good quality and flavourful. Recently, my friends and I had a staycation in downtown. We wanted to go to Bianco, but again, Bianco was full. So, to Dalla we went. I was a little anxious that my friends wont like Dalla, but I was so happy with their feedback. Our favourite was surprisingly their Caesar Salad that we had to order another serving of it. LOL. I am excited to keep bringing family and friends at Dalla. Its definitely a hidden gem in downtown Edmonton.
I LOVE THIS PLACE! Do I need further explanation? I m ranting already
Such a great place to enjoy a meal. The food and service are excellent! The booths in the back are perfect for families and the owners/staff are very accommodating and truly go the extra mile. When our son was starting the melt down they gave him a tour of the kitchen and a special little gift. Our new go to! Thanks for everything :)
Great experience for Italian dinning..options were good for vegetarians..Drinks were perfect that we ordered Our sever was great in her hospitality.. Food portions were huge for the price point.. Overall very decent experience in downtown Edmonton..
The food was great, large portions, liked everything we ordered . Friendly staff, nice atmosphere . I recommend it for anyone visiting Edmonton
Found this gem by fluke. Fabulous food, service, and atmosphere
I love the centrality of Dalla Tavola Zenari as well as the consistently high quality of food. The servers are all very professional and friendly. If you are looking for a good place in downtown Edmonton to eat well, have a perfect latte, or just enjoy a glass of wine, this is the perfect unassuming venue.
We had an excellent dinner with a very large group. The food was wonderful, prices were reasonable but the open atmosphere, in addition to it being a Friday after work, made the restaurant very loud, which made conversation difficult.
There are so many Italian restaurants downtown that I think sometimes we forget Dalla Tavola is in the bustle of Rice Howard. Not as busy as some of the other establishments, you can find it a little easier to get a super Italian meal. With so many more modern Italian fusion restaurants popping up, I would classify Dalla as a bit more traditional in their offerings. Their food is very generous. And the flavors are wonderful. Cocktails and Java was wonderful. The server was so kind and engaging. And the space is ultra modern with lots of natural lighting. Dalla Tavola is a family run establishment from the Zenaris brand that many of us remember on the main floor of Manulife Place where Id faithfully get a coffee and a breakfast muffaleta. Be sure to check out this Italian dining spot! 4 x
I was in Edmonton for a work function, and we went here for dinner. They were very accommodating (at one time there were 17 of us) Highly recommend this place! Awesome food, very friendly staff and great atmosphere Food
A go to for us. Spinach risotto and charcuterie board are great. Good drinks too. Friendly staff.
My only regret eating here was that I was at a big conference business dinner because I was dying to take pictures of the space and the food - it was truly outstanding and memorable. My hosts who chose the place have legendary good place and often try a dozen+ spaces for this dinner. This spot was at that legendary level. Lots of food allergies at this conference and somehow the kitchen managed to put out a full spread (pretty impressive for an Italian place to just rock the gluten-free and Celiac restrictions). The food, the drinks the desserts ( Panna Cotta to die for, in-house made lemon tarts!!) had the group oohing and ahhhing - for me the in-house sausage was so unique and flavourful and seriously they had a light, bright, punchy coleslaw that had a depth and complexity of flavour several folks agreed was some of the best they ve had .coleslaw? Yes, the mains are incredible but the delight here, is in the details. Add to that a beautiful high-ceiling gorgeous space, an unbeatable patio and this spot is great for couples but unbeatable for groups. The service was just so consistent and crisp while still being kind and fun. Can t say enough about the spot. 10/10
I was thrilled to find a vegan panini here - the Vegano was delicious! Also enjoyed a can of local IPA.
A great restaurant if you re looking to class it up a bit but still not break the bank! Great service and even better tasting food, can t wait to go again!
Cute eatery on Rice Howard Way. They were able to accommodate a larger group. Food (I tried their Di Bosco pasta) was delicious. Everyone else seemed happy with the dinner and the service was friendly and attentive.
I cannot recommend this place enough! Incredible food and impeccable service! Nancy, Ran, Love, Ashley and all of the other staff were so helpful and wonderful. I come here frequently and decided to have my birthday here this evening. My family and I were so well taken care of. It was a very memorable experience. THANK YOU!!!
Food is simply sub par
Best napkins in the City.
My friend and I ordered the chicken lasagna and chicken pasta with sundried tomatoes. It was so good! Highly recommend!
Amazing food (I had the pesto pasta) and it was so fresh. Great atmosphere and service!
Great food and the staff were awesome. Loved the mascarpone stuffed dates especially, worth checking out!
First time here and enjoyed the large portions of servings. Others at the table were also impressed of the quality, varied options on the menu. The service was great and timely. Likely to return when next in Edmonton
This place was packed, but they accommodated our large party, even going above, asking a couple to move to push more tables together. Food was amazing. Ill definitely return to explore the menu more. Has a decent cocktail menu
When I came here with my family I discovered one of, if not my favorite restaurant ever. The service was amazing, super friendly, fun, polite, and always willing to go the extra mile. The setting of the restaurant itself was beautiful, colors were vibrant and fun there wasnt a single dirty or ugly spot in sight. The food itself was beyond excellent, it was actually in my top 3 favorite foods ever (I had the Salmone Flat Bread) and Ive had private chefs cook for me. The restaurant is slightly fancy but also very chill and relaxed for people who just want to have a normal fun time. Overall would recommend 11/10
Always a pleasure to have lunch or dinner there. Love the gorgonzola pasta! The team is caring and working hard to serve the typically packed place. Reservations highly recommended! Food : 5/5 |
2 words: fantastic service
What an experience! Never heard of this place before, now I am wondering why I did not know this place earlier. The ambience was excellent, the service was A1, the food was extraordinary. We went there for lunch with our entire team and everyone praised the food. Vegetarians, non-vegetarians, people with food restrictions all of us praised the food. The service was just awesome. The lady serving was very friendly and attentive. It took some time to get all our orders at the same time, she kept informing us about the progress and apologized for the delay. Extremely professional to say the least. A highly recommendable place.
Justin was an amazing server, went above and beyond. Thank you so much for a beautiful dining experience and the happy birthday :)
The food here is to die for and the atmosphere is lovely! I had a risotto dish and the chefs absolutely nailed it. Ill be back next time Im in Edmonton for sure
This is honestly the best Italian weve had in Edmonton. Lasagna with Focaccia bread is the order. Will be back.
Food was amazing. The lasagna and the pesto gnocchi were both great. Huge portions and worth the price. Service was ok as well. Will be back!!!
European getaway and incredible food, the experience was amazing. WHY thisbplace is not fully booked I dont know, people must not know about it. Well, the secret is out and I cant wait to go back. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options plentiful, even for the non vegetarian if having meat is not a must for every meal. Kid-friendliness: Food options and welcoming colors and space for families. Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level, no stairs and large entryway. Chairs are not fixed to the ground so lots of options at tables.
Very pleasant Italian restaurant. I visted this place around 7pm on August 11th and was very impressed. The open kitchen and overall layout felt spacious and the staff were friendly, professional and upbeat. I got the Pollo flatbread as pictured, which was quite good. Great experience overall. Thank-you for having me! Dietary restrictions: Staff were upfront with asking about allergies. While I dont have any to speak of, it isnt common that the staff initiates the allergy question, which is admirable, and I can respect this greatly.
Excellent pastas and risottos.
We held a happy hour event there for 30 people. The amazing staff just made the mood for our event even better. The food was incredible. All of our attendees raved about Dalla as a venue. Vegetarian options: Lots of great vegetarian options. Parking: Nearby Manulife Parkade is $3 Flat Fee on Rogers Place non-event nights.
Definitely made our Edmonton trip memorable! The lasagna blanco is a must-try! The quattro formaggi flatbread was crispy but the rosemary was a little too much. Tiramisu was great.
Food was excellent, prices were very affordable and our waitress Ashley was wonderful. Definately be going back.
Delicious Italian food. Budget friendly. Space is beautiful, service great. I highly recommend it. Still a great place procesnhave gone up a bit but still great for the money. Great atmosphere! Food
The food was great and the location is fantastic. I recommend it if you like Italian fare. We went for supper and while the establishment was not busy our server was not attentive so it degraded the experience for our group. Several comments were made about the service by separate individuals after we left so the impression was almost universal. Too bad, it really did take away from the evening.
Stopped in for flatbread and a cappuccino. I would love to come back to check out more of the menu!
Awesome food and service. Fine dining without the stuffy fine dining atmosphere.
Great food, warm friendly people. The food was absolutely delicious.
One of my favourite casual Italian cafe restaurants. Great vibe downtown for lunch, dinner or cocktails. Also great for small groups and parties. My fav is the Pollo Milanese chicken and of course their crostone flatbreads. They also have a lovely summer patio.
Great place. My go-to down town restaurant. Fantastic staff and atmosphere. The food is very good and there are a lot of menu items for people with dietary constraints, which makes it a comfortable and reliable place to go.
Best Italian restaurant in Edmonton! The food is amazing and decadent! Best eclair I had in my life! The staff is so warm and professional. Amazing date night restaurant! It s chic and upscale but cozy at the same time! Very reasonable price! A must try! Very festive and fun at lunch time! Vegetarian options: Vegan sausage very delicious Dietary restrictions: A lot of gluten free options
This place is 4.5/5 but was unable to do so with the rating system! I was here over the weekend for a birthday dinner and I didnt look into the menu or anything but I was amazed at how delicious the food was. Particularly memorable was their chicken liver pate appetizer (not a regular on the menu)!! I have to say it is the best pate Ive ever had and I order pate whenever I can. We shared 4 pastas, 1 appetizer and a salad between 6 girls and we were plenty full, with 3 boxes of leftover. Im not a big drinker but we all had spritz and a bottle of wine to share. Portion size was good and food was so rich and flavorful. The atmosphere was really good with pretty string lights all over and a wall of pictures. Our server was amazing and lovely but I didnt catch her name with all the talking amongst ourselves. Nice big and clean washrooms (x3 stalls) for the ladies and most importantly, well supplied with soap and paper towels! There were a few downsides as 1 of the pasta we got was a bit more al dente then I would like, the beets salad was a bit too pickled and the inside the restaurant felt so hot at the beginning of service. Parking isnt ideal since its downtown but otherwise doable. Overall, I definitely recommend this place to family and friends and will come back!
Had the duck and it was the best meal i have had in a very long time. Atmosphere and service were excellent as well.
Waited more than an hour for our dinner.
Great food!! Great service!
This was my first at this restaurant and loved it! Came here for lunch, it was busy but I would definitely try coming for dinner again with my colleagues. Its so cozy and I love the artwork on the wall. Keep up the great work everyone!
Wow! What an amazing surprise. We were going to go to Bianco just across the street but because of how busy it was, they recommended us eat here and I am blown away. As soon as we walked in we were promptly sat at a lovely booth. The atmosphere here is delightful and the service and food are unmatched. The prices are fairly reasonable and Jessie was such a pleasant server. I would 100% come here again.
Great prices! Lots of delicious pastas to choose from on the menu, and I really loved the panzanella salad. Lots of dessert choices as well! In terms of Italian food on the block (there s one other choice), this would be my top pick.
Great food and service.
A new favourite for sure! The food and selection are incredible - the lasagna is a must have. Great value for portion size as well. The atmosphere and decor are upscale and perfect for an evening out. Angus was a fantastic server and catered to our every need. Definitely will be back!
Epic. Super tasty!!!
Had work Christmas party there staff was so helpful kind and great customer service. Def will go again with family
My partner and I came here for a late lunch on August 26, 2022. Everything was amazing, delicious, and worth its value. The service was top notched, waitress took the time to explain items on the menu and provide suggestions. We never felt rushed. Food was incredible, we both had vanilla lattes, the gnocchi, and the chicken asiago sandwich. My partner had a shot of expresso to finish it off. We will definitely be back to try other menu items.
Took my partner here for his birthday and we had a wonderful first visit. Everyone was warm and welcoming, the food was delicious and the atmosphere enjoyable. We will certainly be back!
Great lunch spot downtown.
Great food and service! I will definitely come back the next time I am in town.
The Caesar salad, pasta and service was outstanding!
Very friendly staff, clean restaurant, large portions at very fair pricing. Will be coming back.!
If you need a place to taste, smell, or drink all that is good, then look no further. A gem, a legacy.
I finally had the opportunity to try out Dalla Tavola Zenari this weekend! The food was good, but I was disappointed! I found myself comparing everything to the old Zenari s and I wished they had some of the old menu items! .
We were greeted right away when we entered and quickly found us a place to sit. The staff are amazing and very attentive. Made sure our drinks were always filled, and checked on us. The food is great. Would go back for sure and try other things on the menu!
OMG! Heaven Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and lactose free Kid-friendliness: The way the benches are built around the tables along the window. Kids love it Wheelchair accessibility: I have a walker.
A couple of occasions we have been here when visiting relatives in Edmonton. We were told about this place so out of curiosity we tried. Yes, its a great place to have italian food and drinks. We had dinner and the food reallly tastes good and delish! I tried the Gnocchi, wifey had lasagna and Di Mamma. We all had a great time dining here. Staff were super friendly too.
Been three times recently. Really delicious lunch options and good value.
Amazing flavourful food
Delicious food, great portions, warm atmosphere, and incredibly friendly staff. Thank you for making my trip to Edmonton special!
Good food and a rowdy atmosphere.
The owner Eliza is superb in accomodating our orders and caters everything. Ambiance is cozy, welcoming and most of all its super neat and clean! Keep it up, we need these kind of quality restaurants in edmonton!
Food was good pasta dishes we had were great. But the service wasn t great. We waited at the door for a table for almost 10 mins before someone even came to the door. We ended up sitting at the bar and the service was not great. Hopefully they can figure out how to wait tables as this restaurant does have potential
Absolutely amazing place. I ate here every lunch while I was in town last week for business. Every single dish hit it out of the park. Tremendous flavour. Excellent value Great vibe. Service was also fast and courteous. Highly highly recommend!!
Great gem downtown. Definitely on my top 10 list.
