Rustic space with a patio serving small & sharing plates, craft beer & cocktails. We dont have a phone :) Email us [email protected]
this cozy, rustic restaurant offers an extraordinary dining experience with its creative, flavorful dishes. the warm ambiance, paired with their artistic approach to plant-based cuisine, makes it a perfect spot for a relaxed, satisfying meal. each dish seems thoughtfully crafted, both in flavor and presentation, ensuring a delightful experience for vegetarians, vegans, and even meat-eaters looking to explore inventive, plant-based dining. highly recommended for food lovers in search of creative, hearty vegetarian fare! not to mention the staff are also incredibly friendly & always make sure you have a great time!
The atmosphere is very cute and cozy, and it’s possible that I misunderstood what to expect from this restaurant. I went on a Monday because a friend told me there was a vegan three course meal for $50/person. What I misunderstood was that this actually just meant three sharing plates, rather than three courses per person. I went with a group of three, and there was one appetizer, one main, and one dessert brought to the table (and the portion sizes looked the same for groups of 2 people). From this I understand that the restaurant makes an extra $50 on our table without having to provide additional food (though the dessert did at least have three pears on it, one for each of us). The food was just okay, but my main complaint would be the price, given the portion sizes and ingredients. If you’re vegan, there’s no need to go here, as you can definitely make something better and cheaper at home out of chickpeas, lentils, and sweet potatoes. These three ingredients are extremely affordable, so the markup for the restaurant seemed outlandishly high (especially since we did not each get our own meal but rather got 1/3 of a meal and left hungry). The cocktails were also pricey, and they were just okay. Places like Fu’s and Dolly’s serve more flavourful and creative options for a few dollars cheaper. I might try this place again and order vegan items from their regular menu, but the fixed price menu was unfortunately not worth the money.
Loved visiting this cozy restaurant! I had walked by one day and had seen a packed lively porch, loved the name, and was intrigued. I eventually remembered where to go (I have a horrible memory) and went for a date night. The night-time feel of the lit up porch was so cute, although we eventually moved inside because I was cold. The food was delicious! We especially loved the focaccia bread and hummus. Great vibes, great staff! It's very welcoming and the food was bomb ❤️
Was very excited to try Little Wolf for the first time this past weekend. I had been following on instagram for a while, and heard nothing but good. I’ll start with the positives. I had arrived earlier than expected and was the first person upon opening. I was greeted promptly, sat, and served. The servers were friendly and helpful, and that was a constant. I had a good variety of the cocktails on the menu, and enjoyed the sling. It was flavourful and very nice overall. As far as the food went the fried focaccia and hummus was delicious, the lemon zest used in it was fantastic, and the bread had a great crunch to it. Everything else I had that night was mediocre at best. I was joined by a group of friends and got to try a larger portion of the menu. I ordered the Japanese curry poutine and lobster risotto. The poutine was overly hot (maybe just my taste, but I guess it’s fresh) and bland. I waited an hour before I had to leave, and didn’t even get my risotto. The other cocktails I had were watery and bland. At our table we had the salmon, chicken meatballs, duck sausage, and roasted strawberry for dessert. I found it all to be bland and forgettable. I ordered the duck sausage for my girlfriend who loves duck, and she didn’t finish it. I’m sorry to say, but for the location and price, I think there’s much better alternatives.
Little wolf is rated highly in Edlife food reviews and finally made it after a fringe theatre production. Lived up to its hype. the sign still says three boars ; you enter right off 109 Street. It’s right across from McDonald’s. We had the Japanese curry poutine potatoes, which is a healthier take on the regular style and the rice pudding dessert. Sampled some drinks and really enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly servers. It’s small and cozy; there’s a main floor bar and a second level with tables and chairs. Washrooms on both levels.
Absolutely loved dining here. We haven’t been since it was Three Boars years ago & we had forgotten what a sweet little spot it is!! Excellent excellent service, super friendly staff, innovative food & flavours!! The house kombucha was excellent!! Only thing I would manifest for Lil Wolf is a good non alcoholic beer on the menu!! Would be the cherry on top!!! 🍒
We came to Little Wolf just off Whyte Avenue at the tail end of the polar vortex in January. Braving the freezing temperatures was all worthile to take in this experience. Little Wolf sells themselves as a low key snack bar. But they do some amazing smaller dishes that are ever so delicious. And they can mix up some great cocktails too. The service was out of this world. Our server was so friendly, humerous and helpful. The space is cozy. Small, warm and inviting. We can't wait to come back for this super dining experience. 5 x 🍲🍲🍲🍲🍲
In a culinary landscape teeming with fleeting trends and flash-in-the-pan eateries, this establishment stands out as one to watch. Despite being in its soft opening phase and not yet fully operational, the restaurant already offers a culinary experience that is both sophisticated and deeply satisfying. The focaccia and hummus dish is a testament to the kitchen's commitment to quality and craftsmanship. The bread, made in-house, is a marvel of bakery skills—airy, fluffy, and possessing the perfect chew, toasted to a golden hue. The hummus it accompanies is equally well-executed, making for a harmonious pairing. The Japanese poutine is a delightful surprise, subverting expectations with baby potatoes instead of traditional fries. While it leans more towards a Japanese curry dish, it retains enough elements of a poutine to make the fusion not just clever but delicious. The citrus-spiced green beans are a revelation in their own right—meaty and robust, they offer a textural contrast that complements the meal. The mango sorbet, served with a spiced jam, is a masterclass in balance. Neither element overpowers the other; instead, they work in tandem to create a dessert that is both refreshing and complex. Service is attentive without being intrusive, a fine line that the staff navigates with aplomb. Guests on the upper level will find themselves well-looked-after, a testament to the establishment's commitment to customer satisfaction. The ambiance is an exercise in understated elegance—dim lighting casts a warm glow on wood accents, while mirrors and windows add depth and dimension to the space. Even in its nascent stage, this restaurant not only meets the standard for excellent dining but elevates it, setting a new bar for what contemporary, casual cuisine can be.
Probably my favourite restaurant rn. I always recommend the focaccia and whatever they have on dessert. I love the rotating menu, they re able to capture the different seasons through their selections well.
Went here for a team dinner and had a great time! Love the expressi martini, and the ambiance, the people working were also amazing and made great recommendations
Little Wolf is a cozy and intimate restaurant, with a very plant-focused, vegan-friendly menu (nearly half the menu is vegan!). Vegetables are the star of the show, paired with flavorful sauces. The highlight of our meal was the fried focaccia with zaatar and hummus. The dishes are small and designed for sharing. The prices are quite reasonable. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, with dim lighting, candles, wood paneling, and exceptionally friendly service. I highly recommend the 3-course vegan dinner at Little Wolf. It s held on the last Monday of every month, and proceeds go to the Edmonton Food Bank. The food was wholesome and delicious, with seasonal fruits and veg being the star of the show. P.S. You need to reserve in advance! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan dishes are clearly labeled on the menu. About half the menu is vegan.
Nothing but great experiences here; the food is high quality, interesting and delicious, prices are reasonable, and atmosphere is friendly and cozy. The menu is obviously curated and creative while also being accessible to many palates and dietary preferences. Next time you need a date night or place to celebrate a milestone, go to Little Wolf. Dietary restrictions: Gf and vegetarian friendly
I was so excited to try this place and I m not sure where things went wrong. Everything was top notch - except for (most) of the food. Maybe we just didn t order the right things?? The good: Atmosphere, staff, cocktails, Focaccia and hummus. All top notch. The ugly: PRICE (but this is a given considering we didn t enjoy our meal; Cod belly was so awful we couldn t eat it (it s been a while since I ve left a plate of food untouched at a restaurant - esp for that ridiculous price; cremini mushrooms were alright but two of us versus a giant plate of mushrooms - no crostini or anything (I wish I hadn t devoured my focaccia); the chicken meatballs were ok but just blah (crazy overpriced for what we got - they tasted like something I could make at home by googling allrecipes). Overall, both of us left very disappointed and out almost $200 (we did buy a bottle of wine, which was great, and a yummy cocktail). I can t remember the last time I was so disappointed after a restaurant meal. Maybe they were just having an off night?? With such good reviews I don t understand why our experience was so poor. Hopefully we are just an anomaly.
Every time I visit the food is exceptional and the service is goated out the wazoo!
Fantastic food and service. Little Wolf is a cozy and intimate spot perfect for a date night or catching up with friends. There are always new rotating items on the menu, so every time you go you can try a delicious new dish. There are lots of gluten free options which is great!
A creative, fun menu full of delicious food! The salmon was cooked perfectly and the Tom Yum scapes were so good. The servers were super friendly and knowledgeable. Lots of great vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. I ll definitely be back soon!
Delicious snacks, cozy atmosphere and unique amaro-based cocktails!
Me and my bf come from a small town and we were roaming around Edmonton looking for food before we went to the hotel and it was about 1 am and McDonald s wouldn t serve us so we decided to stop at this restaurant and let me tell you! Me and my bf both loved it, first off great food, you can go to a popular place like Boston and get a 15 dollar artichoke dip and it taste ok, or you can go to this place and get meatballs and have it taste delicious! Not only that they served us after hours!! After one when it was supposed to be closed! The staff also laughed and joked with us which made it feel 10 times more friendly and comfortable and inviting! They have funny books and coasters to write on! Amazing hidden gem I will recommend this place to the max and so will my bf! Amazing apple cider too
Sooooo underrated. Fine dining in a chill and relaxed atmosphere.
The food was mixed confit duck leg was amazing, the poutine was okay a bit too much apple. Black cod belly and roasted radish were kind of disappointing. Service was friendly.
This place is an absolute gem. The food is fantastic and I almost don t want more people to know about it to keep it for myself.
Good flavouring but price wasnt worth the experience. Our table ordered Hummus & focaccia. They said it could feed 3 people but the focaccia was cut into two pieces. So we ordered extra pieces cause there was so much hummus left over. It took them almost 25 mins to get the two extra pieces of focaccia and they charged us the exact same amount as the full meal We also got the chicken, cod, tuna, and poutine dishes. Our server forgot about us. We had to go downstairs to pay but none of the other tables had too. It didnt help that the window was completely open and all we could smell was cigarette smoke the entire meal. Washroom: window is really low. You definitely feel like outside people can look in
Literally some of the best food Ive ever had in my life. I dont know how else to describe it than it tastes like art. Ive had this place on my list of places to try for a while and Im actually upset we didnt check it out sooner. 11/10 this is a perfect date night spot.
If you are looking for some high quality food, great service and a unique location this is definitely one of the best restaurants in Edmonton. Upstairs and downstairs are quite different - I sat upstairs when my parents were visiting but have enjoyed myself at the bar or the window. On a busy evening it kind of feels like you are in a big city, and I like that. Schnitzel after 10pm on the weekend
I am going to call it. This is the best restaurant in Edmonton. Mic drop. Chef Shaun is a talented artistic genius that brings together flavours that together exceed all expectations. Set your palate free and enjoy. The team at Little Wolf will look after your amazing cocktails and service in a way that respects the food. Wow. Thank-you
Always an amazing time! Food great! Service exceptional! Cocktails delicious! Lucia is always a delight!
Was ok. Not really my type of food but no complaints really.
We had a fantastic experience at Little Wolf. We were 2 people and had the Tom yum garlic scapes, focaccia and hummus with extra focaccia, chili cucumber salad, and Thai iced tea tapioca pudding. We had enough food for at least 3 people (we took a lot home) and everything was absolutely delicious. Dinner with 2 cocktails came to less than $80. Exceptional value for such a high quality experience. Service was also great. I highly recommend trying Little Wolf!
Always the best time at little wolf! Incredible food, fantastic service, and great vibe. Shareable small plates is the best for getting to try everything. Room is cozy so make friends with your neighbours and enjoy the community of good food and drinks together. Will always come back
I had a wonderful time here last night. The food was incredible and well worth the price. We had a handful of dishes, each building on the one previous. The zaatar focaccia and hummus was a great foundation for the smoked mushrooms and the curried poutine was delicious but a little too heavy for how late at night we stayed; the blackened sea bass was light and perfectly cooked (although I didnt have the stomach for the fermented tomatoes). Our server had the most incredible nails and graciously accepted my compliments on them. The space is low-key, quiet and nicely decorated with some great lighting and amazing tunes. I cant give it a full 5 stars on atmosphere until the windows facing the bright McDonalds signs are obscured with some film or sheer curtains -- the ever-present glow of the golden arches simply couldnt be ignored, sullying an otherwise-magical evening. Thanks for everything; cant wait to return!
Very cute restaurant with versatile menu. Walk ins only. Definetely worth the price. We really enjoyed chocolate dessert in red wine reduction. Vegetarian options: Plenty!
The Negroni with the Negroni Sorbet is
This restaurant is not customer focused. Venue is extremely small and cramped so very loud and very difficult to converse. Even more difficult to manage when they dont take reservations - how do you plan to meet friends or arrange a nice dinner with your spouse. Menu is share plates only and very little protein options, and kitchen unable to accommodate basic adjustments like including 4 potato croquettes for a table of 4. One red wine option. Period. Incredibly expensive draft beer. If you like root vegetable dishes with a fancy description and similarly fancy price points, this is your place.
Really wanted to enjoy the food here but it was very, very subpar. The mix of fusion type dishes ranging from middle eastern to Chinese to japanese to Italian had very little cohesion. The stuffed pepper dish tasted like bad leftovers. I did enjoy the congee and service was good though. Overall, wouldn t eat here again :(.
Excellent cocktails at this place, we went on a Friday night were it was quite busy and their machines went down for a while but they handled the situation well and still provided good service. We tried their curry potatoes which was a nice snack with cocktails. They also have a bunch of erotic lying around as decor which makes for a fun weird read when waiting for your drinks.
I think our server is was confused the entire night. She refused to give our party of 5 an extra menu to look at because we could have only one menu per table (???). She forgot about us for about 20 minutes. She gave us the wrong drinks, and then argued with us about it afterwards. Then she charged one of us for more expensive drinks than we ordered, but said all the cocktails were the same price (??? they weren t?) Very odd experience. The food was good and the atmosphere was cute, but we won t be coming back here because it s generally crappy to get overcharged for things you didn t order.
My brother took me to little wolf, and showed me the best Japanese curry poutine you ll ever have
This was of the nicest dining experiences I have had in a long time.
Super fun atmosphere. Great conversation and the staff is SO nice. We really enjoyed our evening. If you re looking for a quaint, chill venue, please come here!
While excited to be here with a friend we ended up unfortunately disappointed. Our appetizer was forgotten about (which happens) and we were told it would be comped only for it to show up on the bill. It was taken off but my friend was still charged for two beers despite only getting one. By the time we got our mains they were near cold we well. I can imagine the food is pretty good but the service was not great and the reason for the double billed beer almost seemed petty.
Love the vibes and service here. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Good selection of cocktails and they can even make you custom drinks. The food menu is small but decent value, you just need to know which dishes will fill you up more (the poutine!). Their dishes have very unique flavours and twists that may not be for everyone. I dont love the taste of every dish but overall they taste good and I appreciate the innovation. 4.5/5 but Im bumping up to 5/5 for their cheeky responses to 1 star reviews
We absolutely LOVE Little Wolf. The food is amazing. Every bite in every dish is so well thought through and the cocktails were pretty terrific too (thanks Tait). It s a small spot with a great vibe run by a team who are clearly passionate about what they are doing. Tait and Devan are knowledgeable and fun and all about delivering a great experience. Would highly recommend! Vegetarian options: There are a lot of vegetarian options on the menu - all delicious and the humus is the best I ve ever had. I m usually not a fan but the humus at Little Wolf is lovely.
Seeing this space (formerly Three Boars) spring back to life with such incredible talent, food, and hospitality has been an absolute pleasure. There are very few places that bring this level of care for quality and creativity to their offerings, and none can do it in a way so approachable and fun as the Little Wolf team. Whether you re having snacks, beers, or cocktails, you ll find all kinds of options that surprise and delight while maintaining a level of affordability that s growing rarer and rarer in the local restaurant scene. This place is an absolute gem and you should definitely visit.
Small tight-knit team with what seems like centuries of hospitality experience. Like seriously some of the friendliest people you ve ever met. The kitchen here is special. This is a masterclass in approachable, elite and dynamic cooking. Unreal. The flavours coming out of this place are seriously next level. Chefs ability to fusion Asian, Middle Eastern, African, Spanish flavours (sumac, zataar, 5spice, Slasa macha, couscous like what?!) while seemingly making small plates that are unpretentious just floor me. The menu here changes pretty much weekly, but my first bite of the focaccia and hummus really just made me stand up and walk around the room like I was one of those onlookers of some unbelievable street magic. The other dishes had me doing similar reactions. Let s see someone try and replicate this concept because I think I just saw the future. Get yourselves down here right this instant because the legion of foodies sharing this on the stories are bound to rocket this joint into the stratosphere. Vegetarian options: Like half the menu
One of the best places off Whyte for a nice dinner. Not a single bad item on the menu. We ordered multiple instances of the smoked olives. Followed by focaccia and hummus, then roasted carrots, black cod belly, kala Chana dal, chili cucumber salad, and a Japanese curry poutine. Most of these items are at least vegetarian with many being vegan. All of the dishes came out incredible. Dishes range from $9-$21. They really know their stuff when it comes to cocktails as well. The menu is all perfectly matched beverages but if youre interested in something off menu all you need do is ask. I personally love their paper plane. To wrap up the night we had their Thai iced tea tapioca pudding. Decadent yet light. It was a most excellent night.
Best wolf-themed cocktail bar in all of Edmonton.
Food: We ordered nearly the entire menu and each dish was a treat. This fusion cuisine was something Edmonton has been missing. Truly worthwhile. Service was excellent. The dealers choices were on point and every interaction was personable and informative. Atmosphere: Still incorporates the charm and history of Three Boars. Overall a European style pub culture that is desperately missed here in Alberta.
If I could give more stars I would. Food is out of this world . Live laugh love little wolf
Cozy, amazing personable place. love everything about it. 5 stars and all the food is incredible I wanted to lick the plate.
We had a great night out! Our server tonight was fantastic, super welcoming and gave a great tip to have the focaccia bread with the cod belly dish. Drinks were great and the vibe was perfect after a long work week. Definitely will be back to try something new :)
Visited little wolf on a night off a while back, had an absolutely phenomenal time. Truly great experience across the board
This is definitely a new spot to look out for! They just opened up and its one of the few late night gems in and around the Garneau / Whyte ave area. They have a mostly vegetable based menu, but as a meat lover myself, the flavours are so delicious you forget theres no meat on the menu. I highly suggest the Japanese curry poutine (for you carb lovers) and the chilli cucumber salad as a crisp and fresh palate cleanser. The cocktails are also really nicely made , my favourite being The Sling, which is a pineapple based cocktail. I have no doubt this new late night spot is going to be a favourite amongst late night wanderers. If youre walking around the Garneau/ Whyte ave area after the sun has long set, and are craving a place that has uniquely flavoured dishes paired with refreshing drinks , look no further than Little Wolf. Vegetarian options: Mostly vegetarian based dishes
One of the best culinary experiences in Edmonton.
Visited with some friends recently and it was a super lovely experience ! Our server Devon was so wonderful and personable. I had the curry poutine and it was fantastic! Would visit again. Only con was it was slightly pricey, but you pay for the vibe I suppose.
Perfect end to a Friday night, the Japanese-style curry poutine was absolutely amazing and our server Devan made me laugh and smile each time he came by our table, would definitely recommend folks swing by this cool new spot on 109!
Been here twice and love the Japanese Poutine. It s a cozy space to bring your friends and family to for a late night drink or meal.
Everything on the menu is incredible, no exaggeration. The best hummus in the city hands down. Tom yum flat beans are a must. Shockingly affordable too. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Clearly I have nothing but good things to say about this place! Go see for yourself!
Nestled in Garneau, Little Wolf is an absolute must-visit. The main floor boasts a snug bar while an intimate dining oasis awaits upstairs. Indulge in standout dishes like the unbeatable Focaccia and Hummus or their in-house smoked olives. Feeling famished? Opt for the generously portioned curry poutine. Plus, with the option to add an egg to nearly any dish, customization is a breeze. Their veggie-centric menu, peppered with inventive daily specials, is crafted for sharing. At prices between $11-$15 for food and $10-$15 for drinks, groups can easily explore the full menu. The staffs warmth, combined with the owners evident passion, enhances the dining experience. Enjoy the patios ambiance before the chill sets in. Its a late-night culinary retreat without the next-day regret. Imagine an evening at a friend s house, filled with tunes, treats, and toasts. Dont wait, good times ahead!
A really GREAT place, definitely worth checking out if you are in the area!
Great place to grab a drink and shareable plates with friends Really nice space as well
A new YEG delight! Stop in to share some small bites & great bevies. The service and ambiance were impeccable. I can t wait to tell all our friends :)
Best meal I ve had maybe ever?! There was such variety of flavours, and put together in such unexpected and novel ways. The chef even brought out an extra dish that was off menu. Edmonton is lucky to have such a special restaurant, I will be making myself a regular. I believe the menu is seasonal, but if you have the opportunity don t miss the the focaccia and hummus, the pumpkin kung pao, smoked olives, the earl grey tapioca and the cynar cocktail. I honestly was blown away by every bite. Super cozy atmosphere as well, beautiful ambiance and great room.
wish they had chicken strips and fries but everything else is pretty damn good too. props to The Awesome Staff such as Devan who makes an awesome cocktail and provides an excellent experience. i love little wolf! cant wait for big wolf the sequel restaurant
Hands down my new favourite place in Edmonton. The food, drinks, and staff are exceptional. I wanted to eat more of everything. So happy to be back in this cozy space. Can t wait to come here every week.
I came here for the borscht. Watch out baba, youve got competition. Small and thoughtfully put together menu of shareables and cocktails with a focus on veggies, though the pork was probably the best Ive ever had. Pork isnt even my go-to meat but hot damn, I would get this again. Friendly, enthusiastic staff and a nice ambience rounded out the evening nicely! Loved it!
I simply adore the little wolf. It is a consistently good experience! An intimate and unpretentious gathering place, with a menu which defies easy classification. Please spend your evenings here! The owner is also a great guy, helpful with parking.
I had a great experience! The place is so cute. The staff is lovely, the food was delicious and its very affordable! Will go again for sure!
Excellent place at the corner of Whyte - Tate was brilliant with his drink suggestions plus giving us company with lovely conversations! Highly recommend giving the place a try. It s slightly on the more expensive side but it is worth it!
I will say the cocktails were pretty good. The food here is just okay at best. Had the Tom Yum green beans, which is exactly what it sounds like. A plate of green beans with three mushrooms for $16. The other dish ordered, which I dont recall the name of, was a simple broth with carrots, celery, and potatoes, with an impoverish portion of beef for $19. Overall, the portion and overall taste for value was pretty low in my opinion. Maybe I just dont get it, but boy do you feel like you could have spent your money a whole lot better after a visit here.
Awesome staff and great service very happy
Went for a birthday dinner. Did not leave disappointed. Excellent food, service and ambiance. Great to see something occupying the space again. The chef is good looking too
