Chic wine bar featuring a variety of Spanish & European tapas in an intimate, red-walled space.
Fantastic food and service. My wife and I tried doing a walk in on a Tuesday evening. Got seated at the bar which we did not mind. We were recommended really great wine to pair with our meal. We picked the Feed Me course which was about 7 small plates. We enjoyed most of the plates. I hope we did not distract the staff as we were seated right in front of the register, they were quite friendly and very nice. Definitely a place I would recommend if you have not been to.
My fav restaurant in Edmonton! Delicious food, intimate setting, great wine list & amazing staff. We come here every year to celebrate my birthday and it’s always so special to dine here. We always do their “feed me” option and we have never been disappointed.
For my birthday, I was searching for a great restaurant and came across Tzin Wine and Tapas based on their excellent Google reviews. They did not disappoint! Although I forgot the names of the two waitresses who served us, they were incredibly kind and attentive. I don’t know much about wine, so I asked for a sweet one, and they chose perfectly. We ordered the famous "Feed Me" option, and everything was just delicious, check my photos!. My birthday cake was packed up to-go because I was so full! I highly recommend this place!
The wine pairings are so well done. The food is delicious. Very small space. The bacon was amazing. Meatballs were my hubbys favorite. Falafel was a bit too salty. My favorite was the beet salad. I loved the flavor profile.
Nothing short of fantastic. It was my daughter's 15th birthday and she picked this restaurant because she wanted to "go somewhere fancy". The owner catered to my daughter with such reception and hospitality it doubled the experience. The food was outstanding. My picky eater of a daughter loved every single dish so much she wanted to lick the plates 😊. Highly recommended.
The place is very small and very tight but quite nice. One side of the standard seat is a bench with cushions and pillows. It is a bit dark as you come in but once seated it is fine. It's very small entrance door to find. At first I wasn't sure if I had come through the back. We did the recommend Feed Me / chef's choice option. Food is served one dish at a time. The best were the risotto (not on menu) and the pork belly with mushrooms sauce. We did not enjoy the beef steak as we are not rare or medium rare consumers. Did not think to mention this to the server. Not sure if we could have sent back to kitchen to ask for it to be more cooked. We also didn't think bacon on crostini was as special as the reviews raved about it. We ordered a glass of red and white wine. They gave us taste tests first with different red wine before we settled. We booked a week in advance for our seats on Open Table. It asked us if we were celebrating anything. It was for our birthdays. Nothing special was done except the server wished us. Service was good as they changed out our plates after every dish. They even store your coat for you if you want. They topped up our waters promptly. Explained the dishes to us. Helped us choose our wines. Cost $150 for 2 people. Very high end fine dining. Definitely for special occasions.
It only took 7+yrs to check this place out and I’m kicking myself for not going sooner! I totally understand why I had to book a reso 6 weeks out ! Small space but cozy! Very friendly service from every single interaction. The kitchen to which I failed to take a photo of was my favourite part of the space. Open kitchen concept by the window made you feel like you were in a bustling metropolis in a city much bigger than Edmonton. Shrimp were big and flavoured perfectly with a light curry. A highlight for everyone at the table. Steak melt in your mouth with the mushrooms! Bacon signature dish was salty and sweet. The wine was nicely paired with the meal with the price point being average. Overall the friends from Calgary that were in town were blown away. I’ll be coming back to try more of the menu sooner than later. Especially the option where you opt in for whatever the chef decides to cook. Tell him your dislikes and allergies then your meal is a surprise. Next time! Worth every penny!
Absolutely go here!!! Make a reservation and check it out. Very small, cozy atmosphere with great food. We had the "Feed Me" menu based on recommendations from others and were not disappointed. From start to finish, each dish was awesome. Definitely try the bacon!!! Don't let the small dishes fool you. We were very satisfied and the prices were very appropriate. Our servers were attentive and very friendly.
We had our company Christmas party at Tzin and it was amazing. The food is next level and the service was the best. Our servers were so attentive and personable. Highly recommended.
The food is incredible and the restaurant is has an intimate atmosphere. The feed me option is great! Everything they brought out was absolutely amazing.
Tzin is such an experience it is hard to describe. It is so intimate and the food and service are amazing. Kelsey makes you feel like a guest in her own home.
Truly the best restaurant in Edmonton, and it has been for years. The commitment to absolute excellence is obvious in everything they do. The food and service are beyound outstanding, so its clearly a labour of love. I feel special every time I eat here. Ive eaten at michelin star restaurants and nowhere compares. Tzin is #1.
Our server was super nice and the food delicious! Super recommend the bacon
Great staff, AMAZING food, always a hit, never a miss. Just ask for the feed me menu and enjoy your night
Tzin is an amazing restaurant. The owners are fantastic, the food is amazing, and the atmosphere is so welcoming. The food is worth every dollar. You won t regret coming here!
Imagine yourself travelling in a new exciting city with all kinds of dining options. You only have one or two nights and you want something really special. Edmonton is certainly not Paris or Tokyo but for a city of its size it has always had a great food scene. At the front of the pack for 18 years now is Tzin. Owner Kelsey and her team have survived two stock market crashes, COVID and the ups and downs of Edmonton s downtown revitalization. Yet it has remained a staple of excellence for its cozy atmosphere, amazing tapas-like gourmet and great wines just off the corner of Jasper Avenue and on 104 Street. Everything about Tzin is warm and inviting but nothing more than the great service and one-on-one attention you get from Kelsey and staff. We were originals here when we lived in Edmonton and after moving to Calgary we try to come often when we are back. We usually never order off the menu and ask to be surprised with house favourites and we are never disappointed. Strange tip: make sure you take at least one trip to the bathroom. There you will find the funky music at its best. Trust me. For me, Tzin should be on everybody s must visit when in Edmonton. Truky one of Canada s finest restaurants.
Best restaurant in my life. Im 45 years old and french...it is a statement :)
I have been going to Tzin for years and it is one of the best restaurants in the city. The owners are so friendly and welcoming they treat you like family. Plus the food is to die for and the bar makes fantastic cocktails.
Cant recommend this place enough, the staff were great, food and wine were fantastic. We went for the whole curated experience where they bring your food and wine pairings and were totally blown away. We spent a fair amount but found it to be worth every penny.
Great place overall
Was recommended Tzin while in town and it did not disappoint! I definitely recommend the Feed Me option, every dish was perfect. Will be a regular stop for me every time Im in town.
Was such a lovely evening! Amazing service and wonderful food!
Great little intimate spot for Tapas. We tried the bacon, bison, and steak dishes. Really nicely done. Will be back!
Extremely overpriced We had the beef (small steak) and the bacon. Beef was cook medium rare but so dry it made crackers a refreshing snack. The bacon is not bacon as per say, its a piece of pork belly on a croûtons... Why dont you call it that way ? BTW you can only taste the sweetness of the balsamic apple and the fat from the belly. And why would you put mayo on the fat soaked crouton... Cant taste either or anyway. All in all to say if I where to rate this restaurant itll go like that: Whoever recommended this place is officially banned from making restaurant suggestions... forever.
Amazing meal and amazing service! So unique! Great for anyone who has a gluten allergy as well! Food : 5/5
The Bacon and prawns were good, however, the steak, for being priced as it is for only 4-5 ounces at most was very disappointing, as it was tough and chewy. Service was unremarkable, and we were never asked how anything was. For the price and portions, I expect a great all around experience, and it was not that.
Did the popular Feed Me option with wine pairing, it was a great experience and it made for a really fun night. Highly recommend and will definitely be back! Thank you
Wonderful service, good food. Our favorite was the bacon dish- delicious. We were lucky to get a same day reservation, but I would recommend booking ahead of time as the place is quite small with limited seating! Vegetarian options: I dined with two meat-eaters and we all opted for the feed-me option. The waitress brought vegetarian options for myself and meat for the others!
Expensive but good wine great food super cozy atmosphere.
Have been here many times, never disappointed, food, service and selection of wine and spirits is second to none.
Returning to Tzin Wine & Tapas for the second time with my wife, we were once again blown away by the exceptional dining experience. This restaurant truly excels in prioritizing quality over quantity, and it shows in every aspect. The ambiance, enhanced by great music and incredible service, makes Tzin deserving of a Michelin star. Opting for the Feed Me menu with wine pairing has consistently proven to be the best eating experience weve ever had. Each dish is a testament to culinary artistry, perfectly complemented by the wine selections. I cant recommend Tzin Wine & Tapas highly enough and will always make it a point to return whenever Im in Edmonton. This place is a gem!
Great food, great wine and fantastic service. The space is a little tight but my family and I had a great time. Can t recommend it enough! Edit: Revisited in 2024 and still great!
Amazing wine selection. Delicious food (get two orders of the bacon). Outstanding service every time. Such an Edmonton gem.
Finally checked this restaurant out. Its small but kinda intimate and one of a kind. The waitresses were super friendly, welcoming and attentive. We tried seven tapas from the menu and they were all delicious and nicely presented. I was initially hesitant to order the paella due to the disappointment of the flavorless paella at Sabor, but Im glad I ordered it here and it was very tasty and full of flavor. (Talking about Sabor, their rude and discriminatory attitude was also a huge turn off.) Will definitely come back again!
This was an amazing way to spend our 25th!! We loved it
Best restaurant in the city! Excellent service and The Bacon is a must-have!
It was a good choice.
I just love this place!!! Reminds me of a tapas bar you would find in Spain! Food and service are OUTSTANDING!!! Have the chocolate torte, it s incredible! Kelsey is the best! Susan
After seeing a 4.9 review we were really excited to come here sadly it was a poor experience at best. After looking around there is dust and dirt everywhere if you look up where the vents are its at least an inch thick super gross people are eating right underneath of that the slightest bit of wind and you get a dust ball in your food. GROSS . We asked for a bottle of sparkling water and were served a warm bottle of sparkling water how delicious just kidding warm sparkling water is not very good at all. Wont be back.
Tzin has obviously discovered the perfect formula. This tiny little room on 104 Street is always busy and bustling. And during this summer, the patio is also packed. The vibe is fantastic - kind of a darker moody boho exotic feel and very intimate. The kitchen and bar are right there and there is only a singular washroom in the corner. We had reservations for 5 PM and already the place was full. The service was extremely friendly. And the food is delectable. Its all smaller plates and made for sharing. Presentation is beautiful and the food is wonderful. Their signature dish is the thick bacon on crostini. After dining, I understand that they have a time limit on reservations that is two hours. We went to four hours and they graciously worked around us without disrupting our meal. We are so thankful to the team at Tzin For their consideration. This is one of most favorite haunts in Edmonton. Never disappointed. 5 x
My absolute favourite restaurant in Edmonton. The atmosphere is cozy, the team delivers top of the line service and every bite of food is a perfect morsel. The staff made custom mocktails for my friend who doesnt drink alcohol and paired them throughout the meal. They had one prepared before we arrived. So nice! The wine list is also perfectly set for the food and is extremely reasonably priced. In fact, everything is extremely reasonably priced for the high level of quality. If youre not often downtown, Tzin is worth the trip to get there. If you are often downtown, you need to schedule a reservation immediately. Really, I should be scheduling my next reservation instead of writing this review
Cant say enough about this great place. The ownership and staff are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and sweet. You can tell that they genuinely care and are very proud their product and your experience. Very impressed with their attention to detail. Will definitely be back!
A small eatery hidden on 104 street, this tapas and wine bar did not disappoint. The place was busy and bustling but service was fast and attentive, the food delicious and generous in portions, and there were plenty of options considering the size of the menu. Each dish came with a fresh eating plate with the servers describing the dish to remind you what you were about to eat. The flavors were well balanced in each dish. We got three dishes and the downtown dining week special (4 menu items that would be meant for a single person) that was going on and it was very filling for our party of 3. Be sure to make a reservation as it can get busy.
Another magnificent evening. Cozy, intimate atmosphere, attentive staff, and remarkable tapas. Wine menu is moderately extensive and easy to navigate but ask for recommendations. Chef creates a wonderful array of fresh tastes and the staff are eager to create a dining experience that puts your needs front and center.
This is it. This is what dining should be like. Its a tiny hole in the wall, maybe 10 tables. So make sure to plan ahead. Also, eyes open going in, its not the cheapest place youll visit. That said, its a perfect combination between amazing food, with wines to match, great and friendly service, and a fun atmosphere. We had a made menu with four preselected dishes, all of them great, with the risotto and in house made sausage heads above the shrimp and bacon. The last being their signature dish, amazing flavors, but couldnt match up to the aforementioned two dishes. We also got two meatballs on account of my wife not eating bacon, those were superb as well. Go in, sit down, be amazed. The ladies that run around are part of the show with their skill and ease of managing the tables. Were not close enough, otherwise this would be one of frequent visits. OH, and dont forget to finish your visit with the lemon curd tart. Parking: Its not in front of the door but just a few doors down theres a paid parking lot, a few more doors theres another, also paid parking along the street. Kid-friendliness: If your kids are easy eaters and will eat whats I the menu, it could work, but its not a place Id necessarily bring my kids. The food and drinks are the entertainment and the restaurant doesnt necessarily provide a lot of extra stimulation for kids to stay occupied.
An absolute hidden gem This is by far the BEST restaurant in the city!!! The food is to die for. Every time we come to Edmonton its an absolute must for us! The FEED ME menue is incredible and features the most delicious array of taster sized sharable plates. If the food wasnt enough to rave about the service is even BETTER. Kelsey always remember us and treats us like life long friends. Its tiny but I think it just adds to the remarkable charm of the place. Very exclusive so make sure you reserve in advance... you will NOT be disseminated!!
This is a little gem. I walked in without a reservation and was seated at the bar. It s a very quaint establishment with only 4 seats at the bar and a handful of tables. Atmosphere was warm and cozy. The food was absolutely amazing. Half orders available on some menu items. Every order was described to me when delivered to the table and tasted delicious! I was provided with a taste of the port to finish off my experience to ensure it was to my liking. It was a true dining experience and I would definitely return and recommend it to others. I highly suggest ordering their signature tapa, The Bacon!
Exceptional. Our favourite place in Edmonton. The service - remembered our drinks from our last visit! Only second time we have been! Very attentive. Explains the menu well. The food - wow. Every flavour comes through, perfect on both occasions we have been.
Tiny spot, very cozy. Food and service was excellent. The lemon tart at the end was surprisingly amazing.
What a wonderful experience. Not only was the food absolutely delicious but the service was lovely and warm. Definitely recommend Tzin for a great date night. We did the feed me option and loved every dish they brought, especially the paella (picture).
You absolutely have to meet the staff at this enchanting restraint. Corey makes the best bacon.
They customer service was amazing, the ladies who served us were so sweet!
Fantastic service. The feed me option on the menu is the way to go. Value for the high quality of food is great too. Dietary restrictions: Great spot for gluten free options.
I found this restaurant to be incredibly average. The service was great, but it was very overpriced for what it is. I got the paella, the bacon, falafel, salad, and potatoes. The paella had grizzle in it, and the flavor wasn t great. The bacon had too much bacon to the point where any more than one bite is too rich. The potatoes were literally a tiny plate of breakfast hash browns that you could get for $5 at any breakfast spot and they were really salty, $14.50 for not even a whole potatoes worth of hash browns?! Luckily the salad and the falafel were good though! I did not like the tiny atmosphere, my legs kept hitting the table and people kept brushing up behind me constantly because the restaurant is so small. My partner and I were disappointed with this place and will not be back.
Amazing staff, food and vibe!
What an amazing experience Tzin is - the space is unique and engaging, and the food and staff were unbelievable. I highly recommend the feed me option on the menu (it makes it far easier to decide what to get) and every single plate was superb. This is simply a gem and absolutely worthy of a night out!
Ive been going to Tzin for years. Its my go to place and Ive never left disappointed. While the drinks and food are amazing (we recommend the Caesars and, of course, THE BACON), I mainly enjoy coming because they make you feel at home as soon as you enter. Ive had the same server each time Ive been there and I cant say enough nice things about her. Kelsey is a staple at Tzin. Shes the beautiful lady with the cute bun. If youve been to Tzin, then I guarantee you have met her and can attest for what am amazing server she is! Knowledgeable and attentive. And just just such a warm personality. Like I said, she really makes a person feel right at home there. The restaurant itself is quite small, but I love it. Adds to the charm and overall experience! Defintiely check it for your next date night or even wine night with the girls!
Great food and service, but the dining environment is crowded.
We had an excellent experience at Tzin. Truly some of the best food we ve ever had. We went for the Feed Me option and were so impressed with every dish - it was almost impossible to pick a least favorite. The staff was attentive, friendly, and very passionate about delivering a top notch experience for every guest. They were knowledgeable about the food & wine and suggested a great bottle for us when we couldn t decide. Honestly a 10/10 dining experience and great for special occasions! Definitely will be coming back.
I truly dont understand the high score of this place, the scallop wasnt fresh 100%, and undercooked, how do I know? my wife and I are both sitting on the toilet now as Im writing this disappointing review. The bacon is hard and dry. Shrimps are not too bad but you only get 4, and they are weenie. Lamb meat ball, too salty, barely taste the lamb itself, too much spice. Atmosphere is horrible, cheap materials and decorations, tiny space you can barely move, you can hear everything your neighbors are talking about even though they are trying to lower their voice. Maybe its just me, good luck with you visit.
Was here for a work event. Fabulous food great service and good wine selection.
Came for date night. Cozy and warm ambience. We had two servers throughout the evening, one who greeted me already knowing my name from the reservation. As all the other reviewers say, the service here is second to none. Such thoughtful service. Custom cocktails excellent. Feed Me menu option superb. Amazing to see three people manoeuvring in a very small kitchen. They pay close attention to detail. Unique, interesting and absolutely scrumptious dishes. We will be back!
Amazing, unforgettable experience. Menu selection was excellent. I highly recommend the dish with bacon. The customer service was the best I have ever experienced. The atmosphere was good. Even though we were on the patio, the music could still be heard. Blankets and umbrellas were provided to clients in the patio. I highly recommend this for a date night.
Wow! Excellent in every way. You ll definitely need a reservation to score a table at this intimate restaurant. Food was excellent, service was amazing, and the wine pairings were 10/10. Although the plates are tapas style, we still left full after 2 of us shared 4 plates. Didn t end up finishing the last dish, asked for it packed up and they ended up adding a chocolate cake from their dessert menu into our to-go bag. Will definitely return.
Me and my wife have been coming here for 7 years. And we have never been disappointed. For the ultimate experience, I highly suggest 2 things: 1. Book a reservation, there is only 8 tables...and 4 chairs at the bar...yes...cozy! 2. Order the Feed me, it is a Tapas restaurant, small portions...but the flavors are beyond imagination. To provide a better visual, Tzin will be to your palate, what Avatar(new & old) to your eyes! Now the staff...the most kindest, professional, and aware staff ever. Ever have a meal, and be asked hows the food when your mouth is full...or be interrupted mid conversation with your guest...yeah these guys are good...like super good! Enjoy! I hope this becomes a favorite of yours as it has become ours! Pictures coming in the future!
The service and the food is absolutely incredible. After a recommendation, we came to try it and I couldn t recommend it more. Our sever was very well informed and clearly cared about our experience. The bacon is a must try!!!
What a special place. I celebrated my 30th birthday here and it was perfect.
I recently visited Tzin Wine & Tapas and overall, had a disappointing experience. Our waitress was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. The patatas bravas were crispy and delicious. However, the paella dish and the wine were a complete failure. The paella lacked the authentic flavors and ingredients that typically define a traditional paella (the rice wasnt prepared with saffron, it had ground pork instead of chorizo, and the only seafood ingredient were 6-7 scallops), which was a huge disappointment. Also, the Pinot Noir we ordered wasnt served cold, which is an unforgivable mistake from an expensive place that allegedly specializes in wine. At the end of the meal, I discreetly told one member of the staff (who was different from our waitress) my opinion about the paella and he started arguing with me that this paella was a real paella with some changes introduced by the chef. I mean, sure it has rice, but white rice with ground pork and scallops on top doesnt make a paella, it makes white rice with ground pork and scallops on top. I wouldnt recommend Tzin Wine & Tapas at all. I paid $120 plus the tip for a non-cold Pinot Noir, potatoes, and white rice with ground pork and scallops on top, which resulted in a discussion with the staff. I cant believe that this restaurant is considered one of the best ones in Edmonton.
We have been going there for years. It is always a treat, amazing food and excellent services. The only thing I want to complain about is, when it is very cold out, theres a draft that comes in whenever someone opens the door. (Get the chocolate cake at the end, you wont regret it)
I was staying downtown and made a reservation here due to the glowing reviews. While we still enjoyed it, I would highlight to others that its a small restaurant with a small menu. The food was overall good - I especially liked the salad, gnocchi, and bacon - but the seating was a little uncomfortable and I did not love their rendition of paella - the largest dish, good for sharing if you do like it. The service was very good. Their outdoor seating is unshaded on the sidewalk, not as nice as some patios.
Edmonton sure has grown up since I left in 2005. This restaurant really showed me that. It is a gastronomical experience. The food is creatively prepared and beautifully plated. The service is beyond excellent. Its a small place that caters to people who want to eat good food and drink good wine.
It is always a treat to eat at Tzin. The service is very warm and they gladly give excellent recommendations and suggestions. My absolute favorite dish is the handmade gnocchi.
Best place Ive ever been for tapas and just in general! Had a great waitress, that gave us good recommendations. Food was fantastic! Was a smaller intimate place with a nice ambience. Went with the feed me package. Definitely recommend and will for sure go again!
My family and I shared a wonderful meal and experience at Tzin. Excellent food and wine choices. We let the chef decide on the food for us with the feed me option. Amazing. I personally thought flat iron steak with salted caramel was the best, my daughters and wife thought the gnocchi, artic char and bacon, respectively, was the best. Obviously everything was excellent. Over the top excellent. The bill was $120 pp for food, beverage and tip. Excellent value for the amazing food and experience.
Thank you to the gracious, knowledgeable waitstaff for the excellent service and the amazingly talented team in the kitchen last night. Sometimes, as a single diner at a nice restaurant, the staff dont qute know what to do with you. Not here in this cozy little place, I was made to feel very welcome. The tasting menu with wine pairings were superb and all delivered in record speed to get me to the theatre on time. You deserve a standing ovation, folks! I will be back again and will give myself more time because there is a lemon curd tart with my name on it.
Went here to try something different and I am very happy I did food was EXCELLENT. Coming here has expanded my palate, highly recommend this place.
Such a quaint little place. Food is absolutely incredible. Highly recommend this place for your next date night. The service was so great. Will come back again!
Pretty blown away how good this place was. Also the service is amazing. Worth a try. Get the bacon....
Our waitress was very attentive and kind, great wine selection, and the food was absolutely perfect.
Incredible food and exceptional service! Definitely recommend going for the Feed me option where the chef will prepare you dish after dish until youre full. Some of the standout dishes were the gnocchi and the bacon tapas, wine list was excellent as well. We will definitely be back.
Love everything about this restaurant. Cozy like you are in a restaurant in Europe.
Absolutely amazing experience here. Food was delicious, drinks were great. Small little restaurant with big flavours. Literally had an out of body experience with the flat iron steak. It was so tender, perfectly cooked and the flavour was out of this world. Mix that with a dirty martini, night was made. Looking forward to going back here. 100 stars out of 10.
Phenomenal service I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fine dining experience!
I will give this restaurant 5 stars. Service was impeccable. Food was very good. The wife and I came to the city for a evening out and she is a vegetarian, and they catered to us. The wine selection was spot on and all the staff was very knowledgeable. Will come again.
Oh this is a special place. Theres just something rare about it. Small, no... cozy, characterful, special. I love this place.
Advance reservations needed for weekend peak times, however it is well worth it. Service is on time and attentive, Kelsey (the owner) is clearly passionate about creating a comfortable and personalized customer experience and checking in on all guests. Food is very well balanced and full of flavour. Courses came out quickly as well. We enjoyed everything we ordered (gnocchi, beef with salted caramel sauce, lamb meatballs, and the bacon crostini). Will definitely be back to try more!
Service was outstanding (literally surprisingly outstanding), food was unique and excellent. We really enjoyed our dinner here. Highly recommend.
Exciting, unique food and perfect service. Really cool atmosphere with good music and decor. Small space, and thats part of the charm.
I took 3 friends for my birthday a couple years ago. This was the best meal and overall experience in a restaurant Ive had in my life.
Some of the best food Ive had. A very intimate atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We will be going back for sure.
If you are reading reviews, make your reservation. By far the team at Tzin are the most welcoming, accommodating people you will ever meet. The moment you walk in, you know they truly want you to enjoy your time with them. Go, enjoy a wonderful meal.
Always delicious, attentive, knowledgeable staff, good value.
The feed me option is excellent. Such a great way to share a meal with small surprise dishes until you are full. Small restaurant. Can be loud
Amazing food and service. You might find some challenges regarding the presentation of wine pairings if you dont already understand regions & types but they are well worth it if you enjoy wine. Bacon is as good as they hype it up to be!
Attentive staff. Tasty tapas and the wine we tried was wonderful as well.
We sat out on the patio not sure what to expect. Didnt know what to try so went with the Feed Me option. Everything was amazing, the drinks were fantastic and our server was absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend.
Had an absolutely incredible experience here. The owners were so kind and the service was impeccable. The bacon dish was one of the best things I ve ever eaten! Couldn t recommend enough!! Thank you Tzin for the amazing meal!
Had a wonderful time at Tzin today. The food was awesome with some great wines to go with each dish. Service was lovely, very warm and welcoming. The bacon and falafel being our absolute favorites. And the best for us was our 10yr old being made to feel welcome and important. Definitely going to go back. Thank you for the wonderful bday celebration.
My daughter and I had an incredible experience at Tzin tonight. Each dish felt like it was curated for us. I felt very special experiencing it. Thank you to Clay and Kelsey for adding to this wonderful evening.
Had dinner here last night. Edmonton has a few spots for Tapas. What makes this place a standout is the attention to detail and quality of the food. It s stands out. The menu is not extensive however the items they have are really tasty. Service is exceptional. Friendly staff always looking to help and make you feel welcome. The restaurant is a small place with a great vibe and atmosphere. Worth a visit.
My wife and I went here for a nice date together. I had looked at the reviews beforehand and noticed their 4.9. It is extremely well deserved. This was such a fantastic experience. We chose the feed me option. It was perfect, I am extremely impressed with the food and service. Their wait staff was very knowledgeable on the dishes as well. We will definitely return. Thank you Tzin staff.
Great food and amazing service. Well be back.
Food was phenomenal. Prawns cooked to perfection with a lovely sauce. Bacon dish delicious. Obviously on the more expensive side, but very yummy and satisfying. Service was also outstanding.
Best service and paella ever! Love it so much, we ll be back soon :)
We opted to spend our anniversary dinner at Tzin and were pleasantly surprised by the food and service! The wine recommendation paired nicely with the dishes we had selected. The bacon is melt-in-your-mouth amazing! A must try!
Loved this experience the owner and server were a delight and the Tapas were scrumptious we will be back !!
I love going to Tzin whenever Im in Edmonton. I hate Edmonton but Tzin is one of the only things that makes Edmonton bearable for me. I might be biased though because tapas are my favourite type of food. The food is definitely pricy for small portions, but thats generally how it goes for tapas. I think considering how delicious the food is, the price tag is fair. The Bacon is phenomenal. My husband doesnt generally like bacon, but at Tzin, he ate most of the dish that we were sharing. I also really enjoyed the sea salt and caramel steak. Wood smoked caramel drizzled on a medium rare steak is something I never pictured together before, but they really make it work! I was introduced to Tzin from the Downtown Dining Week event and Im so glad I did. The servers are always attentive and its such an intimate dining experience.
Found this gem hidden away just off of Jasper Ave. Pro-tip: this is a very small location with limited seating so do yourself a favor and book a reservation to avoid disappointment. The patio was so cute and welcoming when we first got there. The staff were amazing at making us feel special and we were more than happy to let them pick our wine to pair with our meal(they were great choices that we all enjoyed). Each dish came out as a different course which was great for our party who were catching up after being apart for so long. All the food was so amazing that I forgot to take pictures. It was all flavourful, tasty, and well seasoned. Each of us had a different favorite dish but also enjoyed everything. My favorite was the Gnocchi with mushroom and cherry sauce, followed closely by the Bacon. The only drawback from the night was that nearby parking was pretty expensive but also not unexpected for the neighborhood.
The servers were great, super knowledgeable and friendly. The food had a great showcase of Alberts wonderful meats and flavors.
Probably one of the best meals I ve had in Edmonton for the price! Service was amazing and the food was even better. Highly recommend trying this place out but make sure you make a reservation.
The meal was good. It didn t meet the expectations of 4.9 stars that all other reviewers seem to give it. Very expensive for the quality of food. The standout was the shrimp risotto which had a mild citrusy taste that blended nicely with the cheese. The wine menu is fair. The falafel was fine, the salad was fresh but very basic. The mole risotto was fair, somewhat bland but overall had a pleasant flavour. The service was polite and pleasant, and the feed me option was a very nice touch that worked with the dietary restrictions of my party.
Only complaint is that it s very small portions, especially for the prawns (4 small ones). But I guess that s tapas so no fault of the place. The servers are lovely and very knowledgeable about wine pairings! Highly recommend the white wine riesling. Also the salmon is incredible!
My 4th time here and every time has been spectacular. The feed me option with the wine pairing is a bargain for the quality served. The service is next to none.
We opted to celebrate our anniversary here and we had an awesome Saturday night! Special thanks to lovely servers! Vegetarian options: Salads, falafel or patatas bravas
Food, service and wines were amazing. Definitely recommend trying the pork belly, it was amazing.
Our first time here and we loved Tzin. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. We had a bottle of wine and the Feed Me experience. We capped the beautiful meal off with dessert, port and espresso. The value was good for the experience and portions. Great place for a cozy night out!
Excellent small cute tapas bar. We had the meatballs and falafel. Falafel was excellent. Also some wine and an old fashioned. Good service and tasty drinks:) I would go back!
Would highly recommend! I was not expecting much but this was really good. Portions are not large but are not supposed to be in a tapas-type bar. Service was excellent. Food delicious and varied. I do recommend letting the server/restaurant choose your food for you and that is an option right at the bottom of the menu.
I highly recommend the Feed Me option. The Chef serves the most delicious surprises. The staff are amazing and knowledgeable. Food
I came here with family to celebrate and everything was perfect. The desserts are the most amazing part of the dinner. Service was nice and not too much or rude. Felt like everything was right. I will definitely come back.
Delicious food, exceptional service, and an intimate, cozy environment! Would 10/10 recommend to anyone and can t wait to go back.
Very cute little restaurant. The owner and wait staff are amazing - professional, personable, and show a clear passion for their food and guests. The food! Excellent! I recommend ordering the Chefs choice. You get several courses of whatever the chef makes you. You will love it (I did).
Amazing tapas and wine. Great service, amazing wine and better food. 5 stars all around
This was my first time coming here after hearing about it for so long and man was it so good! Probably my favorite restaurant in the city, the food was so amazing and thr attention that was given to us was just amazing. The service and the food was fantastic and honestly its so so good, it is a bit pricey (around 170 for two) but honestly its so worth it
Reservation was not made upon request. During a call back to follow up host hung up on me in the middle of conversation.
Tzin is our favourite little spot. We dined here recently and had a fabulous time. We sat at the bar, and had no problem getting special attention from the bartender (who was lovely and forgive me I cannot remember her name, sorry!). The owner is always a pleasure to see, and she ensured our dishes were out in good time, and drinks topped up. The food is delicious, small bites (Tapas), flavourful and perfect for sharing. The restaurant is small, so reservations are encouraged (there is a 2 hour time limit which we always find perfectly acceptable). The noise level varies, and even when its full (energetic), we had no issue talking or hearing one another. 5 stars, we will be back, of course!
A great escape with fantastic food in Edmonton. If you are a Tapas fan looking for a quiet small spot, this is your oasis. I will return on my next visit to Edmonton.
Simply the best restaurant in Edmonton, and it s not even close. Worth the trip to Edmonton, even in Winter.
Had a business dinner here last week. We were a very large group and pretty much took over the place. The food was incredible, the wine great but mostly the service was top notch. They took really great care of us.
I really enjoyed my meal! Great service
Have been here twice and feel like family. The service, the ambience, the staff and the food are wonderful. It is a small place but if you can get in definitely worth it
TZIN continues to shine, new tapas selection in the Feed Me option are outstanding (ie. Borscht Gnocchi). Excellent food, service, and hosting. And a nice selection of outstanding wines. If you want large portions of meat and potatoes this is not for you. If you want creative flavourful tapas style dishes with great service and recommended wine choices - there is no better place than this!
The servers are very nice, but the food is average and the inside of the store is very cramped. Considering that reservations are difficult, there is no need to go.
Great meal. Super small restaurant with great Tapas.
I gotta wonder whats the point of yet another 5star review. But Im making it anyway because it was that good! They deserve thousands! Tapas bars are our favorite. Weve been to a few that seem to always impress. Tzin is like a treat level above the rest. We very genuinely couldnt pick a favorite dish. We thought it was the steak with caramel sauce until we ordered a pork loin... The way the loin is brought together by the beet salsa really makes you appreciate what food can be with a perfect mix of flavors. Everything was impressive. The lemon tart was the perfect finish. Id definitely recommend that as well. Id be happy to come again. Its worth every penny.
Gnocchi was incredible! A must have. The feed me option is great if you want to try a variety of menu items. Will definitely visit again.
11 years ago we had the most amazing anniversary dinner at TZiN wine bar. Yesterday we relived the experience and start to finish Kelsey made it a night to remember for the second time. Highly recommend sitting at the bar. Highly recommend the feed me experience of food and wine pairing. Salted caramel steak.. Mushroom barley risotto.. Bacon Pork belly with apple everything. #drool
Thanks Corey!
Amazing food and wine selection
If you dont know, then you dont know. If its not the to-die for food or the hand curated wine list, then you will be swept off your feet by a worldly, neighborly, and, most importantly, top-notch professional staff sure to impress. Our favorite restaurant and one of the best in Edmonton
Incredible food, service, and wine. Cannot recommend enough!
Great staff, amazing paella, delicious wine, highly recommend
Great experience. Its easy to see that each dish is carefully prepared, and flavours are paired together with consideration for trying something new and interesting, but not pushing anything too extreme. We had the tasting menu (feed me) and requested that the plates included the gnocchi and bacon, based on other reviews. These were both absolutely excellent, but the trout really knocked it out of the park. Highly recommend.
I LOVE Tzin! This is one of my favourite restaurants in Edmonton, they never disappoint. Its a great place to go for a date night, or if you just want to enjoy some delicious small plates! I would recommend Tzin to anyone and will be a forever customer there.
Fabulous little Tapas place. The food is stunning and has imagination
Cozy atmosphere, delicious food, great wine options, and wonderful service. Highly recommend!
Tapas were delicious (Falafel and mushrooms gnocchis). Service was great and very friendly. Thanks había Clyne!
One of the best restaurant experiences I ve ever had! Cool atmosphere, amazing food, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Make sure to book a reservation because they will fill up!
First ever Tapas experience! Amazing food and very warm staff. Highly recommended
We celebrated a birthday at Tzin, our first visit, and we were absolutely delighted. We chose the Feed Me option, and let the food and wine pairings flow. Each dish was better than the last (if at all possible, as the starter of scallops tartare was absolutely divine). The service was top notch from the minute we walked in to the second we walked out, and we raved about our experience all evening.
Already a million good reviews on this place. I will say I felt like I was robbing them as I left, when something is MP I assume the worst. However the food was sooooo damn good I felt almost undercharged. Never had an experience like this.
It was awasome
This place is a downtown gem! The food is perfect and you can appreciate every sip of the drinks. Kelsie and Clay are super friendly, and the kitchen crew are magicians. It s amazing to see all the good things happen in this tiny space
Had a dinner date with my daughter in this place. We didnt have reservation, luckily there were a table for us. The foods were great. We love the beef and Canadian bacon. The staff were very friendly. The staff gave my daughter lemon lime drink on the house because she does not drink alcohol. Love the food and the services.
This place has an amazing atmosphere and incredible food. Great service and well recommended
Absolutel best place to go eat in Edmonton! What a great experience. Me and my boyfriend celebrated our anniversary there and we got treated so nice. The food is mindblowing good and the atmosphere with the selection of Wines they had made it perfect. Would give it 10 Stars if i could! If you deiced to go here, you have to try the Dish The Bacon!! Cant wait to come back here again. Thanks for the great food and hospitality!
Just an incredible evening. Took my wife for a beautiful night out pre Mothers day. I didnt take any pictures because we were just in the moment the whole time we were at this little restaurant that punches well above its weight--well above. We did the feed me menu option with wine pairing and just wow. Wines from France, Chile, Portugal, white, red and right and a brandy digestif after nods to Canadian fishing, farming, and beautiful Alberta beef. They know where they are and where everything is going. So good. If you go, enjoy--we did.
One of my favorite places in Edmonton for a date night. Excellent service and incredible food in an intimate atmosphere. The feed me and wine options never disappoint.
This place is unreal! The food is great! Atmosphere is great! The owners are great! My husband and I had our wedding reception (21 people) here in 2019. Every year on our anniversary we enjoy everything about tzin! p.s. get the bacon it s amazing!
The best restaurant I have ever been to, had the feed me option with a wine paring, this place is amazing!!! Its exciting letting amazing professionals choose your food and wine, will definitely go back. Rge Rd was a close second, similar meal with wine paring was over $100 extra for 2 people. Its a small restaurant, totally worth the wait, you have to make reservations way ahead for a reason!!!
Tzin is hands down our favourite date night restaurant in Edmonton. We always get the Feed Me option on the menu and are sure to ask for extra of the Bacon - IT S INCREDIBLE. The pork dish was tender and flavourful, the mussels were juicy and cooked to perfection. We love trying out their new dishes and also enjoy their staple dishes as everything is so consistently delicious. The staff are attentive and kind and we always feel taken care of. This place is an absolute gem! Be sure to get a reservation in advance it books up quickly and is SO worth it.
A very good meal and friendly service
Amazing menu, amazing people. Never a disappointment.
I normally don t comment but dinning in Tzin Wine&Tapas is really a wow experience for me and my boyfriend. We were so pleased and positively surprised by how amazing the food is but at the mean time how reasonably priced things are. If you re there the first time, diffidently try out the Feed me menu, it s absolutely wonderful! The staff there are also so nice, the woman gave us some more wine for free to go along with our last dish because we finished ours a bit too early. All in all, amazing food, great atmosphere, wonderful experience. Will 100%come back again!
Not being one to willingly try the unknown, on a recent visit to Tzin Wine & Tapas my son convinced me to try the Feed Me option. Chef Corey McGuire did not disappoint. We began with a seafood-filled pastry topped with a tiny pansy. Next came a Moorish spiced pork loin with a pickled cabbage slaw and cilantro vinaigrette, followed by Harissa prawns spiced to perfection, then risotto that had a slightly smoky taste, which according to Kelsey, the co-owner (who did a marvelous job of introducing each dish), was the mushrooms providing the flavour. We then had Alberta beef and mushroom meatballs with a blue cheese cream, quinoa, and onion agrodolce. Next came Chef McGuire s homemade pork sausage served with coarse mustard. Kelsey pointed to a sausage-making machine high up on a shelf that she said was the Chef s pride and joy. The seventh and final course was my son s favourite, thick bacon served on a toasted crostini with maple balsamic apple compote and apple mayonnaise. For dessert, we had the scrumptious flourless chocolate torte with a sparkler on top to celebrate my birthday. Kudos to the Chef and staff for a superb dining experience.
Always excellent food and service. A gem.
I was dining by myself and was lucky to find a place at the little bar. I have been here many times, but not for 5 years or so. Wow, so impressed. Kelsey is such a warm and welcoming host. She made it a really great experience, despite being full to capacity. She recommended the feed me option which was exceptional. I stopped after four little courses: shrimp, risotto, meatball and the bacon to finish. Each were delicious. Because she offers 3 oz pours of wine, I was able to match a wine to each course. So I had 8 wonderful flavor experiences at one sitting while not being over-fed or over-charged. Just right. Cant say enough about Tzin. Cute room, diverse yet compact wine list, great food, exceptional service. Thanks Kelsey!
Absolutely delicious! We did the Feed Me option and it was great! Definitely a place to check out in downtown Edmonton!
My husband and I came here for our anniversary. After reading the reviews we went with the Feed Me option and wow was it ever good!! My husband is a huge foodie and he couldnt get over how good the food was. I also got the wine pairing and loved it! Amazing food, wine and experience. The staff was amazing as well. We will definitely be back!
Truly the best dinner experience weve ever had. The food was phenomenal and the service was fantastic.
This was our first time coming here and we celebrated our 6yr anniversary. It was definitely a night to remember... The food and service were absolutely outstanding!! This is definitely a MUST VISIT location of youre in Edmonton. We will 100% be coming back here on more occasions. I highly recommend the bacon and the flourless chocolate cake. Thank you to all the staff for an exceptional dinning experience.
Way overrated and overpriced. Service was good. Food was average.
Great cozy atmosphere, super helpful staff and amazing cuisine. Definitely recommend.
Tzin was more then just going out for supper for me it was a culinary experience unlike anything Ive had in Edmonton before. After reviewing the menu I really didnt know what to order at all. So we opted for the Feed Me option which is essentially a tasting menu. I must say that is absolutely what you must do when you visit this restaurant. These are the items we had: - Salad: Very good with a citrus dressing. - Falafel: Amazing with red pepper and egg plant. - Gnocchi: These gnocchi were hands down the best Ive ever had in the city of Edmonton. - Pork Loin: So flavorful with a balsamic reduction and quick pickled coleslaw, eat it together. - Steak: The smokey and salty caramel sauce was seriously to die for. This was my personal favorite. - Meat Balls: With a sweet and sour sauce, these were also incredible. - The Bacon: This is Tzins signature dish and its easy to see why the bacon essentially tastes like candy. As you can see from above the dishes were absolutely fantastic and Tzin has become my favorite restaurant in Edmonton by a long shot. The service was also super friendly and every dish was explained. The level of service matched the quality of food. The restaurant is super small so a reservation is a must.
Amazing dining experience, everyone should try The Bacon! The servers are very nice and the lady who served us had a very soothing voice, which made the place so cosy! Would recommend getting a reservation:)
Incredible atmosphere, very attentive staff. Clay was outstanding and personal. I cant tell you another place Ive ever enjoyed this much.
Had a beautiful evening at this place The service, food and ambiance was incredible It is great for a date night or special occasion. Highly recommend and would go back again
Great small plates, our favorites were the falafel and gnocchi.
The experiences that I have had at Tzin have always been spectacular! The different groups that I have gone with have always opted for the Feed me menu and it has been fantastic. Food was awesome, staff was great and loved the coziness of the room.
An amazing dinner and anniversary celebration! Everything was so good. We just follow the experience with the Feed Me dinner and we loved every single course. The staff is super friendly and focused on each table so perfectly. Highly recommended!
Cozy atmosphere, delicious food. The Bacon was a favorite but everything we tried was delicious. Salad, Patatas, Tenderloin all great.
Where to begin...excellent service includes well researched recommendations. We love the many flavors of the menu, the accessibility of the wine menu, and most of all, the intimate atmosphere and the generosity of our hosts. We have made Tzin a priority whenever we visit Edmonton!
The food, ambience and service was all top notch. It has become our regular anniversary dinner date spot.
Fantastic menu- recommend doimg the Feed Me chefs menu
This is a crazy little place. You may think no one in the world has your best interest in mind. But these guys do. Just do the food/wine pairing thing. It s a steady stream of wicked food and interesting wines. They all hit. But be warned, the food and wine are served in equal volumes so if you re anything like me you might wind up blackout drunk before you get full- which suited me just fine
Wonderful tiny tapas restaurant. The size of the restaurant means that they can focus on service and quality. The food was excellent. Creative and flavourful. The bacon was . Six orders for 3 people + dessert was perfect. Excellent wine choices as well. Washrooms and space was clean. Due to the size, it gets full quick, so make a reso. Will be visiting again for sure.
Where do I even start!? We just left the best dining experience weve ever had and cant praise it enough. From the menu we chose Feed Me... 100% recommend! We had 2.5 hours of culinary experiences with expert wine pairings that enhanced each course, progressing from light and delicate flavors, to rich and full bodied. The flavors of each course evolved with every chew, highlighting the quality ingredients and the presentation. We chose to finish with the flourless chocolate cake for desert, which was transitioned into perfectly from the bacon. Bacon to chocolate cake and were raving about it! Where else can you say this?? The atmosphere, the intimacy, the (BEST) service, the location, the proximity of the kitchen... it was fantastic. If youre debating between Tzin and somewhere else, choose Tzin.
Tzin is definitely a very comfortable place to have dinner. We ordered feed me and each course amazed us. The service were also superb here, they were very attentive and had intimate knowledge of each food they served to us. And I also noticed the chief is very good-looking haha. * It will be better if they can hang our coat in a warm place in such cold days *
Such an experience! The owners and staff, the food was amazing and wine was delightful. I absolutely recommend. Also plenty of parking right out front.
We tried the Feed Me (tasting menu) and the food was great (didnt give 5 stars as I didnt love every single item but my companion did). I would rate The Bacon and the chocolate cake we tried as OMG level!! Service was stellar, food was perfectly prepared and timed. Sitting outside was fun - 104 ST is so lively and interesting. Would recommend!
This restaurant is SO good. Surpassed my expectations, the food is incredible & the service is 10/10. We did the Feed me option on the menu and were surprised with amazing dishes one after the other. Couldn t recommend it enough!
Our experience at Tzin was phenomenal. Food was excellent and inventive and the service was top tier. Our server was incredibly attentive despite the busyness of the restaurant, finding a perfect wine pairing and humouring any and all questions of our tasting menu experience. Highly recommend! Best restaurant experience weve had in Edmonton so far.
Amazing food! Amazing wine! Amazing service! My best dining experience in decades!
