5940 Mullen Way, Edmonton, AB T6R 0R1, Canada
Elevated New Canadian meals served in an elegant space with a bar, patio & glass-walled kitchen.
I absolutely love Sunday brunch! Dinner was enjoyable, but it was quite a busy night, and we had to wait about 40 minutes for our meals. My steak was a little overcooked. I don’t think I would order again but I would still like to go back to have Salmon! The chef noticed our long wait and graciously treated us to a delicious hazelnut chocolate cake. Thank you!
Anniversary date nite was Perfect experience here. Ginger beef Korean cauliflower lamb Creme Brule and all the drinks were Amamzing. Great servers warm friendly accommodating and seeing everyone dressed their best following the dress code made this a nite to remember.
It's expensive but worth it for special occasions. We had supper here the other night to celebrate some family members' birthdays. We had an incredible experience. It felt very classy and professional. While I'm sure all the servers here are competent, Scott was our server, and I've never had better service in my life. If you're looking for a kind server who communicates well and keeps a calm demeanor despite being busy, I highly recommend asking if he's working :) Thanks for an incredible dining experience Scott!
I came here for brunch with family. The menu was fairly typical but with a slight Asian twist. We liked the cinnamon bun which was light and had a crusty top that resembled the Chinese pineapple bun top. The benny used Chinese bao instead of English muffins. The eggs were poached to perfection. Service was prompt and friendly.
I was a bit disappointed honestly, especially given the price ($100+/person without alcohol). Our shared appetizers were good (gyoza, croquettes) were good. We never got the scallops we ordered. My main (short rib) was a very good portion and the meat was tender. I have had better though. The three onion rings on top however, were over cooked and so hard I couldn’t even cut them. The three tiny, unseasoned carrots in the center were probably the most disappointing. Dessert was amazing - I would go back just for that. Our group tried all the ones on the menu and they were all good, the butter cake being our favourite. They had a great selection of cocktails, including delicious mocktails. Service was hit or miss. He was very attentive and took our plates and changed cutlery quickly. He was not hovering and was friendly. However, one in my group got the wrong main. They made no effort to correct this at the time so my friend ate something he really didn’t want. They did correct it on the bill, which was good. I was surprised at the end when the server asked what our favourite dessert was and then replied with a disgusted face and said “really, I don’t get why people actually like that one, it’s my least favourite” and looked like he was going to vomit. It seemed like a really weird way to promote the food… Since our visit I’ve been told by multiple people that the sister restaurant in St. Albert is way better so my suggestion would be to go there.
One of my favorites places to kick back and relax. Happy hour is til 6 pm which is great. Prices are $11 or $15 for a good selection of foods. Service is always attentive and friendly.
Had the chance to enjoy a meal here last week with a group of friends and it did not disappoint! Wonderful service and surroundings added to the incredible food. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for an fine dining experience.
Had to change my reservations a few times and they were so accommodating! The customer service was great besides the weird look I got when I ordered a pineapple margarita? My server Mark was great at first, and then was more attentive to other tables than ours. I wish I could have grabbed the name of the girl who was really helpful after that! She was so friendly and super personable. The food was definitely a 5/5! We ordered the Gull Valley Tomato Bruschetta and the only complaint I have is I would have loved more balsamic glaze. For dinner we had the Balsamic Chicken and the Hoisin Glazed Beef Short Ribs, both were amazing! The chicken was moist and the crispy Brussel sprouts were a great addition to the dish. The short rib was extremely tender, and full of flavour. The food also came out very quickly after our starter, which was great. Overall 4/5, really only took away was my experience with Mark. Will definitely come back!
XIX never fails to amaze you. One of the finest dining experiences in Edmonton. Vegetarian options: Chef makes an amazing vegetarian dish which is not in the menu. Just ask for the chef s veg option for the day. Food : 5/5 |
We frequent Nineteen almost weekly. I love the San Mateo salad. I really miss the halibut, but it s not in season now. Great staff, great atmosphere.
Such a fantastic night for a company Christmas party! Incredible service and food was amazing!
Mark was great. We had a wonderful birthday dinner!
Quite enjoyable
Food was great and our waiter Nick was absolutely fantastic! He definitely deserves a raise!!
Mark was an excellent server. Very attentive, personable, and knowledgeable. Food here has always been my favourite. Definitely a must have
Really good food ! Amazing rib eye special
For the ambiance and price, I expected a higher quality of food. Chicken breast on salad was spongy.
What a great dinner! We shared an appy, salad, and main, and couldn t eat another bite. The Gorgonzola mussels were so rich, creamy, and a perfect start. The harvest salad with salmon was a fabulous combination of roast roots and greens with a light vinaigrette and pecans. The ribeye steak with poached lobster and crab cakes in a bearnaise - the special - was more than two people should ever eat in one sitting, but I have no regrets! Mark provided great service. He recommended perfect wine pairings and made the night just that extra bit of special. Thanks to the hostess who accommodated my husband s service dog and made us feel welcome as soon as we came in.
Amazing food and service. Excited to return to try more items that sounded delicious.
This is one of our favourite spots in the city. Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or just life nineteen has something for you. The food and atmosphere are amazing. The service is next level. Mark made the experience 100 times better, he s so knowledgeable, polite and professional and recommended all the dishes. All his recommendations were on the spot. Whatever you order make sure to order the shik shak Parmesan fries, probably the best you will ever have.
Had a great great meal this past Friday! Rack of Lamb and Veal Shank! Both were excellent!! Service by Nick was great as usual!! Thanks. I would like to see more Italian wines on your wine list.
We went out for a special birthday dinner and this place did not disappoint. Our server Tasheena was so friendly and helpful Right from the moment we sat down. Her suggestions for drinks, appies, main courses and even dessert were right on. We couldn t have been more pleased for our visit here, we will definitely be back!
Great food, service, and ambiance.
Weve had an incredible meal every time weve come. The food is incredible, the cocktails are excellent, the staff is friendly. If youre a foodie especially, the kitchen is phenomenal, its always a tough decision on what to order, and it doesnt disappoint. Highly recommend, give them your business
Very good but what is expected given the price. The food was excellent, did not feel rushed and good service.
Great food, great atmosphere. Excellent service from Mark. An excellent restaurant for a special occasion or just a night out. Food : 5/5
Tasheena our server is an absolute gem, she s knowledgeable about the food and cocktail menu and had the best suggestions! The food is stellar and you can tell how passionate the chefs are, don t hesitate to stop here for an amazing meal.
This is by far my favourite restaurant in the city! The food is always consistent and delicious. My fav. starter Item on the menu is the tuna twists. Their entrees are so good it s hard to choose at times. Very lovely staff and great chefs, especially Andrew!
Food was excellent. A little noisy so we had to shout to hear our table mates at times, but no biggie. Service was okay to start but ended up lacking. Given the coffee and dessert menu at 6:55 (we had been there since 5:30) and we were ready to order right away but the waiter completely ignored us until 7:20, at which time we felt we d sat long enough after completing our meals. So no coffee and dessert for us. Disappointed as we ve all been here before and experienced much better. Overall, 3.5 stars.
I did not enjoy the lounge menu. Will give dinner a chance at some point.
Phenomenal food and exceptional service
Service and atmosphere are top notch. Food is great, but for the price I was expecting a little more unique tastes. Cocktails were amazing.
Great food and great service. A shout out to our server who tried to make the service as enjoyable as possible. Now here comes the bad news.....we were seated next to a table of 6 who was very noisy. Not usually a problem however this table of 6 men was also seated less than 6 feet away from another table of 6 women who happened to be their spouses. You read me right, all 12 people were from 6 DIFFERENT households and were able to book a reservation at this establishment AGAINST Covid 19 protocols. I am all for booking local but establishments that outright break covid protocols by operating at almost 100% capacity and at less than 6ft apart during a global pandemic dont deserve your well earned money. We expressed our concern however the GM could not do anything about the blatant rule breaking
Do not make a reservation online! It s my birthday today and I had made a reservation online. I called today to change the reservation time. Turns out, I do not have a reservation. Very unsympathetic person on the phone. Business must be good.
Really great brunch patio, great taste and presentation. Server was sharp. 5 star.
Food was amazing and service was excellent
Server was fine. However the meal was quite disappointing. The steak was incredibly small and tasteless and cost way way too much. Wife had the Duck. She said it tasted just ok but made her feel not well. Will not be returning.
Perfect midweek date night. Food was amazing. Loved our wine rec by mark our server. Def would pick this over the keg if you want just a step up.
Great vibes and a lovely meal. Scott, our server, was super knowledge and attentive and had great recommendations, cant reccomend this place enough!
Nice place, good service. But the food is a miss. To have premium pricing and mediocre flavor. Unfortunately I cannot justify the price to eat here again. Its for nice clientele who dont really care about the food. And want ambience. Also to charge $6 for 5 untoasted pieces of bread is robbery.
I was a bit misguided by all the positive reviews on here, but maybe I just had the wrong meal? I ordered a Margherita flatbread and my husband had oysters. The flatbread was way overpriced and way too greasy. There was either some weird cheese on it or mayo, and even though I was starving I could not finish it, and it made me slightly nauseous - not that any ingredients felt off, but it was just the combination that really didn t work (on an empty stomach?). The oysters were pretty bland which is weird considering they came in a blue cheese sauce. With the drinks I think our bill came out to about $70ish, which is ridiculous considering the quality of food. The interior is super fancy and nice and the service wasn t bad but if you re going for the food, I would probably avoid this place.
Service was lacking, food was hit and miss. Our server was cordial but wasnt up to par for this caliber restaurant. If Im paying this much for a meal, I would like my server to at least pretend they want me to be there. Our appetizer of mussels was a standout dish. The mussels were cooked beautifully and served in a gorgonzola sauce to die for. The espresso aoli was a surprising showstopper. Such a creative flavour pairing that worked so well. Pork belly and scallops were disappointing. While the scallops were fantastic, the pork belly was dry and the sides were mushy and unidentifiable. All in all, it was ok. As we were celebrating our first wedding anniversary, I was hoping for a better experience.
Service was perfect. Beef Tartar was meh, over spiced and kinda bland, except for the smokey flavour.... Presentation was very nice though. Bison striploin was cooked perfect and delicious, but everything else on the plate was not worth eating. Asparagus was woody, cream corn was tough mush. I expect A LOT MORE out of a $50 entree. Given the upscale nature of this restaurant, I thought it would be better.
Nice place for brunch but a bit pricy with limited options on the brunch menu. The food was excellent though.
The place is amazing! We were honored to be served with the chef tasting menu, an 8 course meal! My favorites are ahi tuna twist, grilled octopus and braised beef short ribs. We even got the chance to meet head chef Andrew. Our server Mark is very accommodating and being funny with his giant pepper mill. Very well done by the kitchen staffs! Highly recommend this place!
I came here by accident 12 years ago and haven t left since.
Amazingly good! Parking: Great! Food : 5/5 |
Always a delight to be here! Any occasions, with any company.. always amazing! My husband and I just had a lovely dinner for our wedding anniversary and Mark was our server. He was great all around and made all the right mistakes as he put it :) We will always recommend this place to anyone who would listen.
The food was really good, as was the atmosphere. The signature warm butter cake is amazing and was probably the best part of the meal. The presentation of the food was lovely and really well done! The only negative is the service which was just okay, not quite what you d expect in a restaurant like this, where they seem to really care bout your dining experience. The server forgot some drinks and did not even bother to acknowledge that. Overall, I think the food is what makes them stand out.
Our server was Mark and we were so impressed! Impeccable service, so prompt, knowledgeable and kind. Amazing supper!
Get the ahi tuna twists
I m had the pleasure to be served by Scott again this evening, who is without a doubt the best server in Edmonton. Food was superb, ambience amazing, and just such a great restaurant! Thanks again Scott and XIX! The new menu is a must try.
First time coming here with my wife. Service was great, very laid back and helpful with suggestions and menu options. Also checked on us just the right amount. Food was outstanding and came very fast! Will definitely come again.
Fabulous food Fabulous service. Parking: 25 Food : 5/5 |
Really excellent food and service, we had a great time, would definitely recommend
Great service and great food! They always provide such great vegan options!
Our favourite neighbourhood restaurant, the food & service are always top-notch.
The food is always excellent and the service is always incredible. Highly recommend!
Always the best in every aspect! Kid-friendliness: They go above and beyond Food : 5/5 |
Excellent food and service. Signature cocktails were also very tasty. Atmosphere is second to none with original artwork, contemporary style, and warm lighting throughout. Kendall was an absolute delight to have as a server, holding pleasant conversations with myself and other customers, while still checking in frequently with all of her tables.
One of my favourite restaurants in the city. Amazing food, great service, and a cozy atmosphere. Chef Andrew s menus are always delicious, Mark s service is top notch, and Ashley is super friendly and accommodating. From date nights, to family dinners, to wedding receptions this place always delivers an exceptional experience. 10/10 would recommend.
Always a great food experience with chef Andrews creations. Excellent service from Mark as always - attention to detail and timely, with wonderful suggestions. Great food combined with wonderful service makes for a memorable evening out with family.
It s always a pleasure dining at XIX Ninteen in Terwillegar. From the moment you enter the doors, you re immediately greeted by a team of friendly hosts. Once seated, you ll be taken care of by some of the most attentive servers thank you Mark! Chef Andrew Fung has created some of the best (and iconic) dishes in the city including, XIX s signature Ahi Tuna Twist. I can almost promise that you will not leave the restaurant hungry! If you haven t been to XIX Ninteen already, take this as your sign to book in your reservation and indulge in this dining experience!
Exceptional variety and the steak was great with lots of flavours on the dish.
very nice ambiance and great food/service. Highly recommend
Oh! Man..! You need to see this gentleman, his name is Scott, the waiter. He gave us a very good service, and looking around, we were not the only people that he gave a high hospitality. With the same manners that he was giving us we were all served and treated equally. And the food was da best! We are coming back soon! Keep it up Scott! A few are like you.
Very good food and service. It is a great place to celebrate a special occasion.
Great FOOD! Our server was amazing!! Melanie I believe was her name. Will be back!!! Food
We enjoyed my birthday dinner and it was amazing! Our server was outstanding! Melanie was her name. We will be back!
Excellent food and service (Tash) Price for food, service and atmosphere 5 star.
Happy hour on the patio is so great. Service and food are top notch!
Everything was delicious! Bison was cooked perfectly and the creamed corn was delicious. Our server made great suggestions and was very friendly. Will definitely come back
We had a wonderful dining experience. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly.
went to celebrate my birthday recently. amazing spot - food is appropriately sized for the $$; extremely tasty; ambiance and general setting is top notch. would highly recommend for a nice night out
Scott was amazing! Definitely will be back!
On this trip to Edmonton, we headed west and tried Nineteen XIX located in Terwillegar. Wish I had pictures. The cocktails were amazing to kick off the evening. I had short ribs, my wife had the halibut and they were amazing. The cheese cake completed the evening. Mark our waiter elevated the experience. Definitely will be back.
I had booked on Tock for my Anniversary dinner. Called at 1125am and spoke to a lady with her name starting with M. I informed since I wasn t able to mentioned on Tock but it s my 7th Anniversary and if they do anything special. She confirmed that she will put it in the note and when the sever comes to table let him or her know so they will provide a complimentary dessert on the house. When I arrived no one new about the anniversary and no one wished until the sever was informed at the table: The food was good and service was impeccable. When we got the bill the dessert was on it. So informed the server about my conversation when making reservation and he said he will check .I could hear the lady manager and server speaking to each other and in few minutes he brought the attached plate with a sloppy sauce, holding half a cut strawberry holding a sparkler and a small piece of plaque mentioning anniversary on it. I was so embarrassed so this level of insult after spending so much and letting them know about the entire conversation. Least one expects is an apology, a manger to come and speak and either get a proper dessert or take it off the invoice. To be served such a low grade dish at the end of the meal is a slap on the face and ruining my event of life. I am sure Chef Andrew must be extremely proud of this product that was served by his top notch team on my special occasion and the restaurant manager would be proud of the service recovery executed. Mittal
Anna was an excellent server, very helpful and attentive! Highly recommend the earl grey martini!
Food was Amazing! Scott our server made our evening fantastic. Will be back. Thank you for the great evening.
Scott did a great job explaining what the specials were and was very friendly and respectful. Made the dining experience great.
Great service and food as usual!
Our favourite Edmonton dinner restaurant. The service is flawless, the menu is completely unique. The cocktails are delicious. There isnt a bad option in the place, but try the Winter Sangria, Bruschetta and Beef Short Rib for a truly divine meal. This location doesnt suffer from the punishingly loud acoustics that St Albert has, its well furnished.
Loved the ambience of the place. Our server Scott was really efficient and friendly. Loved it here, definitely will come back again. The bacon wrapped strip loin was really good!
Always a genuinely good service with delicious food every time we ve came for a meal!
It was a wonderful meal on a special and busy day. Thank you
Great
Scott was INCREDIBLE will come again
Scott was an excellent server and made our experience very memorable. Service was quick and the food was fantastic.
The food was phenomenal. The been tartare was just. Yes. But the service. Scott was our server and he chatted with us and the wine recommendation was next level. I could not recommend this place more than anything.
Great experience, great food and great service
Wagyu beef gyoza, sauce was very salty. Mussels sauce was also not very tasty. Again, very salty. Prime burger was ok, a little red on the inside. Octopus was very bland and too rubbery, All together this restaurant is priced the way it is, and the food is either too salty or overpowering of tastebuds. Service is friendly, and timely. Very good servers and front end staff, but again... the restaurant is supposed to be a restaurant for its food.
GREAT FOOD , GREAT COCTAILS
Exceptional service and wine suggestions. Thank you!
Highly recommended beef tartar. Scott is awesome!
Best place , good food , good service , good vibes, classic. It s my second time here on my birthday Recommend you to try this place! Food : 5/5
Best restaurant! Food and service are always consistently amazing!!!!
Always a pleasure!
our server was lovely & the food was great! portions are surprisingly a good size & the drinks were great too. one of the nicer places in edmonton for dining
Appetizer are very tasty Beef is perfectly cooked, dessert is yummy Kid-friendliness: Kids are always welcome Food : 5/5 |
Excellent food, unique selections, and even better service. Thank you, XIX Nineteen, and shout-out to Mark at the Terwilliger location for the amazing etiquette and service.
Nineteen was delicious, serving Korean fusion in the best possible way. It was quick, the server was friendly, the restaurant was really clean, with excellent parking options. 10/10, would come back. Kid-friendliness: Kids loved the burgers and big cut french fries, also brought a veggie dip earlier to keep the kids happy to wait for thier main meals.
Went out for dinner with my son and his wife. The server Mark was excellent and very courteous. Loved the good and recommended Bison Steak. Great place
Delicious dinner, good sized portions and very friendly atmosphere.
It s so good
The waiter was phenomenal and the food was fantastic!!
Excited to try this place, until I took a peak into the kitchen. Horrible practices, cross contamination and unsanitary handling of food. I left after I noticed this, good luck to anyone who eats here.
One of the best restaurant experiences Ive had! Pricey though, so keep that in mind. Parking: Easy peasy. Kid-friendliness: I doubt kids would like this place, its fancy food with complex flavors. But adults will love it!
I waited way to long to go here....the food was amazing. Multiple times my partner and I had moments when eating a balanced bite we had our taste buds cheer and stomachs growl in anticipation. The only things wrong are super nitpicky, so no complaints! If you have never had octopus for fear of the taste, get it here, it was amazing!!!! Again, eat here!!!! The one negative review I read.on this place is the sound....they have addressed that, no worries! Dietary restrictions: I have a lot of allergies, the kitchen was amazing and dealt with all of them promptly and had zero issues! Thank you!
Worst service I ve had in a long while. Walked in with a group of 4 with a reservation for the dining room but wanted to have a couple drinks in the lounge. When we asked the hostess if we could do this she stared at us like we spoke another language and kept going umm . Don t know if she was in training or what the deal was but it was definetly an omen for how our night was going to go. Once in the lounge we asked a couple of questions about drinks to the waitress (which were utterly overpriced for what they were), one of which was what are your sweeter drinks to which the waitress didn t answer the question and proceeded to recommend the sweater weather , one of their cocktails house cocktails, and their old fashion neither of which were sweet and as I mentioned, ridiculously overpriced. Once we were sat in the dining room the waiter was utterly miserable! I would love to name drop him, but he didn t give us his name. We ordered an appetizer and when it came he would touch and move my utensils out of the way without saying anything. One time is okay, but 4 times? Gross. When the waiter came to explain the feature dish of the day (which was the halibut) one of my party asked about the salmon and the halibut and he was no help and treated it like it was the stupidest question he had heard. No help, terrible manners, and made us feel like our table was the biggest inconvenience of his week. The food was the best part of our experience, but holy moly was it utterly overpriced. Like a $30 burger was the cheapest item, and it s genuinely just a burger that you could get anywhere else. On top of everything, 18% tip MINIMUM. With NO way of giving less. Holy cow, you might as well just spit in my face at that point. I shouldn t have to tell a restaurant that they are not entitled to my money and that me tipping a waiter for a table of 4 is utterly optional. If we had the option our waiter would have not have received a tip. Terrible experience, we will not be back. You can have a much better, cheaper, less insulting experience anywhere else.
Watched the playoff game in the bar.. had great food, service and atmosphere.. will definately be back..
The food was pretty good! Service was ok. Atmosphere was great. I wouldnt recommend the tonaktsu ramen, the broth wasnt umami, it was quite flat for the taste profile. Comparable to a can of stock with minima dimension. The corn was chewy and firm (not a fan). The pork belly was sliced too thick for my liking but the taste was good. The aburi-style salmon sushi was pretty good! I would get it again! The korean fried cauliflower kfc has a good mouth feel and the sauce was pretty balanced. The side of fries we got were really good tho! The service here is ok, i think they judged my party because we looked young (20-22). I would say I would expect a more friendly/attentive server considering this place is marketed as elevated and elegant. There wasn t anything inherently wrong, just not up to my expectation for the restaurant.
Had to wait an hour to order and the food was not hot and not great unfortunately! Would not recommend
This is a terrible place with a terrible manager named Scott. He racially profiled me before I had a chance to eat. I will be speaking to the GM
I recently dined at a restaurant that left much to be desired. Despite having made a reservation for a table, I was approached by the manager while on a call with a client. The manager questioned my use of the phone, to which I clarified that I was simply engaged in a conversation. However, I was then asked to end the call, which led to a disagreement as I expressed my reluctance to comply. Subsequently, I was asked to leave the premises without any prior indication of a cell phone usage policy. This experience contrasts with my previous visits to upscale dining establishments where such requests were not made. As a first-time patron of this particular restaurant, I am disappointed by the treatment received from Scott, the manager. I intend to share my experience with others and advise against patronizing this establishment.
XIX Nineteen at Terwillegar offers a delightful array of dishes sure to offer a unique taste on my palate. The Ahi Tuna Twist stands out with its unique flavor and impeccable presentation, making it a treat for both the eyes and palate. For those craving something hearty, the Quebec Duck Leg Confit is a must-try, featuring tender meat that melts in your mouth. However, the blueberry duck sausage it comes with may not appeal to all palates (including me ). On the other hand, the Ravioli dish received praise from my friedn, showcasing the restaurants versatility in delivering satisfying flavors. To round off the meal, the Butter Cake provided at least a satisfying end, with the ice cream serving as a delightful complement at the end of out meal. The ambiance at XIX Nineteen is warm and inviting, while the flawless service ensures a seamless dining experience. To avoid lengthy wait times, its advisable to make a reservation in advance!
The food was amazing! The service was even more amazing!! Prices are a bit higher than average but you absolutely get what you pay for and more.
2 guys, 2 cocktails (one each) , 3 small appetizers= $200. Atmosphere Service Food presentation Food surprisingly mediocre
Absolutely the most wonderful service! The food was spectacular, much larger portions than I imagined.
great food
Asked for a spoon to get my berries out of my mocktail and the server brought me a spoon with extra berries it was a small but kind gesture. Had the beet salad which was delicious.
Food is underwhelming. Oysters Rockefeller was fishy. Bison tartare was mixed with sweet pickles so that s all you taste. Overall disappointing as I remember this place as innovative and delicious! Edit: Feb 2024- amazing experience with perfectly cooked food. Kale Caesar salad is so delicious. I love the addition of kale chips to add a depth of flavor.
Was overdressed for this fine dining experience. Loved my dish the rack of lamb. Great wine & service. Great dining experience!
This is by far the best restaurant we have been to in Edmonton!! (And we have been to a lot of them) the food is fabulous and the service is second to none! We will be back for sure Dietary restrictions: I have a dairy allergy and they accommodated it fabulously!! Usually restaurants just leave things off my plate rendering my meal tasteless. XIX made my dinner fabulous! The chef is excellent! My husband who has no allergies also enjoyed his dinner. We will definitely tell everyone we khow how good this place is.
Everything was good. We ordered the scallops and lobster risotto, tuna twist and beef short ribs. Service was great.
The service stands out here. Enjoyed all of the food as well.
We shared three tapas plates that were outstanding!! We will definitely be back.
Visited this location on Jan 23, its closed despite business hours on Google and on the store front indicating that they should be open. No written sign on the door indicating that they are closed and if so, for how long.
Happy hour is 10/10! Dined in the lounge on a Friday evening. It was awesome!
We should paid our reservation 10 per person by e transfer And is supposed the money deducted from the final bill. When we received the Check, 70 cad were charged as a voluntary service instead to be deducted from the bill as a reservation fee. Just double check that in the future if you plan to do a reservation. Kid-friendliness: Pretty good kids menu!
Beautifully presented food and delicious recipes. Ambiance is also great. A really high end place to go for your special occasions.
I ve been to XIX for dinner a few times and enjoyed it every time. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and great service. In terms of food, I ve tried the Korean Fried Cauliflower (KFC), Salmon Sashimi (they had it at one point), and their Lamb Chops. For the food, the lamb was very tasty and worth trying and the KFC was what stood out the most. The biggest highlight however was the service and I d rate them 8.8/10.
Went with a larger group of friends with a reservation. Service was extremely slow, drink orders were forgotten, and it took well over an hour for the entrees to hit the table after ordering. Wagyu beef in my pasta dish was the same quality as grocery store ground beef... Tasty but the quality was clearly absent. Best part of it all was the frankly insulting mandatory scam 18% gratuity slapped on top for an annoyingly poor level of service. Wont be back.
Great ambiance, delicious food and awesome service. Thanks Mark!
We enjoyed our evening dining out.
This is one of the best restaurant to go to for celebrations like family get togethers and a date night with your spouse. Our server Scott is brilliant, friendly but most of all great service and absolutely professional. We always ask for his table. Scott always knows how we like our food and drinks. The dinning and drinks experience is amazing. We have gone there so many times and actually lost count. Always a perfect evening. However when you call for a 6:30 or 7 pm reservation their first answer at the front desk is that they are fully booked. No matter how advanced the date you call for. Although we do manage to get a reservation at the end after a lot of pleading . When we go, there are a few tables always vacant and that has happened each time. I dont understand why that would be. We realize that Yes they keep 2 seatings for the evenings and then the rest are, you walk in. This is super unfortunate and sad that regular patrons are treated this way. We spend large amounts and give generous tips too. However I do Realize that Should Not be the criteria for getting Reservations. A little kindness and appreciation would go along way from the restaurants part, especially when patrons write great reviews and appreciate the service, food, drinks and ambiance. We would expect to be treated cordially. The other point of contention is that we heard you could pay $10.00 per person for reservations. I inquired regarding that rule this week. The front desk denied it saying they have no such rules. However after going through the reviews guess what I did find a review exactly on this point a patron to the restaurant was charged $10.00 per person to reserve a table. I took pictures of the both side conversations to prove my discovery regarding this matter. The conversation was between the guest that evening and the owner. I wish that this being a great restaurant and I am sure we will be coming in the future. I wish they were more generous in their approach where seating is concerned and not so Rigid. Charging $10.00 per person is not a bad idea at all especially when you do go through with the reservation and your money is returned in the bill at the end of the evening and the table does not sit vacant the whole evening. This would for sure make the dinning experience better in the future for everyone concerned. It was a very frustrating experience for us this week trying to get a reservation at X1X Edmonton on 5940 Mullen Way. We go through this each time!!!!!! I wish You all the best for having an amazing restaurant in Edmonton. We are fortunate to have had a great experience in the past at the restaurant and with our server Scott. We do bring in a lot of out of town and country friends and family to share a good meal at your restaurant but believe me it is a chore and struggle to get a reservation !!!!. Very Frustrating to say none the less !!!
Great Service!
We ve been going for special occasions for years but did brunch today and it was fantastic. Great cocktails and atmosphere. Will continue coming.
Food was exceptional, our waiter Jordan was exceptionally cold and didn t say anything to us after we ordered, or after we paid and just walked away.
The food is good quality but the food is very salty and the burger is very soggy, but overall its ok.
Great service, some of the best calamari in the city!
Paid with giftcard, waitress asked how much tip and I said 15%. She went and tipped herself 24%.
Wow! I thought this would just be another place like Earls but I was pleasantly surprised. We loved everything from the drinks to the food to the service. Everything I had was cooked so perfectly. We were in and out very quickly as well. What a great place. We will definitely be back!
We came in for a family dinner last night. Our server, Scott, was excellent. He very clearly has been doing this a long time based on his attention to the table, ensuring drinks were full and dirty tableware never lingered. The whole team here was running like a well-oiled machine last night. Orders were taken, drinks arrived, appies rolled out, and mains shortly thereafter. Never a when is our food coming thought in our minds, so applause to the kitchen for their timing. All 8 mains came out at the same time, hot and perfect. Most restaurants now cant even fire 3-4 dishes so they finish at the same time. The tuna twists were fantastic, a crowd favourite. I will always order these when I come for dinner. The spicy cauliflower was great, just right in all aspects. The Picanha steak was cooked expertly, great med-rare colour and a perfect crust. The toast with fresh ricotta cheese and bruschetta was a great salty/sweet/creamy balance to the richness of the steak. The rest of the table very much enjoyed their dishes. The Gnocchi could use a little more flavour, it felt somewhat incomplete. If thats our only gripe, its minimal. 10/10, Excellent job to anyone that was on-shift last night. Thank you for a fantastic dinner service.
High-end place. You should bring your future fiance here and propose.
My favorite place in Edmonton The seafood here is very delicious The tuna twist my favorite appetizer Food : 5/5
Ok but definitely not worth the price. Unfortunately feels like a place that takes itself far too seriously. The interior of the restaurant was nice and we got a table right beside the kitchen. Had a reservation and unfortunately arrived 10 minutes late but the staff was friendly and said it wouldn t be a problem if we were finished by 8:30. I don t think I have ever had a multi-hour meal for two people intentionally, so that wasn t a concern. Starting with an appetizer of mussels, sauce was delicious, but the mussels were hit and miss with many overcooked/deflated or busted. Fries also had a burnt flavor to them. Kind-of a small portion as you can see for $33, but the sauce saved the dish so I would give it a 7/10. Baby Lobster Linguini was next for one of the mains. This was very tasty but they didn t fully clean the shrimp (gross) and it was heavy on the sauce and lite on the linguini. Again, portion size was not what you would expect for a $45 pasta dish but that was my expectation walking through the door so I d give it another 7/10. Finally, our second main was the Scallop Farro Risotto. Make sure you reread that name because my mistake was missing the word farro. This was not risotto at all, it was farrow with tiny cut veggies mixed in and absolutely drenched in oil, making it appear more like a soup than risotto. It was completely inedible, I might as well have gone to KFC and taken a ladle from the fryer, the only flavor was oil. To top it off the scallops were cut in half and either burnt dry or half raw. Pro tip: when the base of a $45 dish consists of $0.50 worth of farrow faux rice , maybe splurge and give the guest five-six full scallops. Don t cook one side and cut them in half, looks extremely low rent at this price point. Each of us took one bite and couldn t eat it. 0/10, one of the worst dishes I have ever eaten. When the waiter came to the table he kind of gave me a knowing look when he saw my plate was still full, as though this wasn t the first time. Since this was a celebratory dinner I didn t want to ruin the night by complaining so we just asked for the cheque. A little disappointed that the waiter didn t even inquire if there was a problem with the food but I m sure he already knew all too well. Besides, it was my own mistake for not reading the menu closer. I would recommend clarifying with the customer that the dish is not technically risotto if/when it is requested in the future as I would have definitely changed my order had I known. Also, please ask that the wait staff stop placing the napkins on customers laps, it isn t 1940 and it s a bit creepy in 2023. Everyone is capable of placing their napkin exactly where they feel it will be most useful. All in all the experience was just ok so I can t justify the price tag or going back. With one glass of wine and the dishes listed above the bill for two was ~$150 + tip. For that price I would expect to be blown away. Save your money and go to Cactus Club.
I went to restaurant with friends. Our server was Jordan and he was rude and threw my friends card at her. No smile at all, it seemed like he was forced to serve. No please or thank you.
Went here for a birthday date night and shared appetizers and wow! We live in the area and have definitely slept on this place! We werent too sure initially but after coming here, we will make a treat of it more often! We wanted a blast of flavour and we got it! Each and every bite we had was better than the last! If you havent tried this place, do yourself a favour and go for it!
Like very much the food and the atmosphere
Must try! Loved it !
We had a lovely family dinner here, especially enjoying the beef short ribs, the picanah steak, and the baby lobster linguine (which is part of the restaurant s summer menu). The beef short ribs were served almost like a meat loaf, but very soft and tender pulls to it. The lobster linguine was very creamy and rich, with grilled shrimp as the perfect accent to it. We also really enjoyed the Korean Fried Cauliflower as a perfectly sized appetizer for four people. A decent kick of spice in it, but not enough if you re looking for something to really make you sweat. The pizookie was a great desert to cleanse our pallets too! Overall the service here was very pleasant and the food was served really fast. The only concern was that we could see that none of the cooks in the kitchen (visible through a glass window) were wearing hairnets. I m curious as to whether this is not required of restaurants anymore - hoping your food doesn t get served with hair on it!
Fantastic atmosphere, Beautiful decor inside, very cozy, the entire staff is so friendly and wonderful Fantastic food and cocktail menu. No wonder people cant get enough of this place.. Definitely lived up to the hype, my new place
Nineteen at Mullen Drive ; Tonight we were seated as usual. Fifteen(15) minutes later, we had not been greeted, or offered water, or attended to in any way. Usually we go to a nice restaurant to receive things like food and water. We left after 15 minutes, and made it clear to the greeter on the way out that we were very unhappy with NO service. Essentially no response. Probably the thing to do at the minimum would be an apology about wasting our time. How much I long for the halcyon days of our youth where taking care of your customers actually meant something apart from making a buck. Instead, we went to Sabor downtown for a last minute booking. As per usual, the food was great and the service (thanks Emily and Michael) was excellent. Amazing how much good service can enhance a meal and how no service means, well, no meal at all. Tonights experience at XIX was terrible. It doesnt matter how busy you are, it is a service driven industry and it takes very little time to say hello and offer water. Grossly disappointed!
OMG PLEASE HIRE PEOPLE OVER 21!!!! WE WAITED 20 MINUTES BEFORE EVEN BEING AGNOLIGED, AND HORRIBLE SERVICE WHEN THEY ACTUALLY DECIDED TO AGNOLIGE...THEY WERE TO BUSY TALKING ABOUT THERE DAY! FOOD WAS OKAY A GLASS OF CALIFORNIA WINE WAS 29.00 AND HORRIBLE! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE
Service & Atmosphere: Came to celebrate a birthday, we had such a wonderful dining experience tonight. Mel, our very accommodating & knowledgeable server helped us choose dishes based off dietary needs, crowd favs and particular cravings. Her warmth really made our evening memorable and would come back just to be served by her again! The ambience was chic too comfortable lighting & seating. Also loved the aspect of seeing the kitchen from your table. Food: We had the wagyu gyzoza, aburi tuna salmon sushi, and balsamic chicken (split into 2 plates). Each meal had delicious sauces to bring out the simplicity & quality of the dish. Feedback: Id recommend all the dishes again (if only it was halal so I could bring friends & family). It d be the cherry on top if we were offered a sweet treat on the house (for a special occasion, as other reviewers seem to have received) but we were stuffed anyways. I d love to return & try the desserts next time! Thanks again :) Dietary restrictions: I wish Halal meat was supplied/available at this restaurant, I hope it s something that can be considered in the future.
The wait can be a tad lengthy, but the overall experience is top-notch. Dish breakdown: KFC: The Korean-style sauce shines, and the cauliflower is cooked to perfection. A must-try. Lavender Seed Lemonade: A bit too tart for my liking. The lavender seeds dont quite blend in, and the presentation could use a touch-up. Id pass on this one. Short-rib: The rib meat is flawlessly prepared, boneless, with spot-on seasoning. The onion ring is just okay. Worth ordering. Medium Lamb Chops: Exceptional meat quality thats tender and succulent. The presentation is on point, though the vegetable is a tad bland. Id suggest a cranberry sauce touch. Still, a thumbs up. Butter Cake: Disappointed to receive only half a scoop of ice cream. The presentation falls short, and the cake feels overly dense. Id skip this one.
We visited this place for one of our brunches. And the over all experience was okayish. The food was decent but wasn t the greatest. It looked great though. Service was a little slow considering there wasn t much crowd that day. Also tried a few drinks but those were equally disappointing. 3/5 is the max i would say.
Honestly, the best meals were the appetizers. The salad I got was over priced at ~$22 and it wasnt a large salad and the chicken was flavourless even with the sauce it was smothered in. The steak my friend ordered was cooked more than what she requested and the taste was not up to par with how much the meal costed. The best things we probably got were the Báhn Mì buns and other appetizers. But overall with the cost to ratio and tastiness, I would say I wouldnt go again.
Lobster pasta was good.
Everything we had including the cocktails were yummy. There are no complaints here and would definalty come back
Enjoyed our meal here. They had $2 a shuck oysters which were delicious. Shared a rather expensive Caesar salad but I guess it did include prawns. My wife had the short ribs and they were generous. I got the burger and it was one of the best I ve had this year. Beer selection was good. Cocktails were delicious but also rather expensive. I hope they continue to have the oysters because I d come back just for those.
It s so good, absolutely EVERY single thing on the menu is AMAZING. Drinks appies mains desserts!!! The serving staff are wonderful too.
Quality dining, great service, good portions and you pay for what you get!
Service was horrible; Scott the server was incredibly rude and ignorant, the food was nowhere near the price it was. Would not recommend.
Food was great. Service not so much. Everything rushed and instead of relaxing atmosphere you get rushed service.
Excellent dinner. We went all seafood
Really great overall experience here and service was really helpful.
Overall, the food was okay-good. We started with the Ahi Tuna Twist and Beef Tenderloin Tataki which were both unique and flavourful. Would recommend! We also had the Aburi-Style Pressed Salmon Sushi, but it was bland compared to other restaurants that make their own versions. Next we had the Baby Lobster Ravioli, Scallop Frekkeh, and the Sablefish mains. All of them were okay but none of the dishes really stood out for us. Although not bad, it was a very expensive meal and the food was just not worth it for us to come back.
Food was excellent, and the service was great. They were very attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere was very cozy. We went for our anniversary and had a wonderful time.
This is an absolutely amazing place to dine! Service is immaculate, and my food was so delicious and well presented!!! Id give more then a 5 star for this small business!
Had an amazing brunch! The breakfast BLT was fantastic. Our server Olivia was so friendly and was great at checking in to see how we were doing. Overall great experience!
Amazing service from our server, Mark, and fabulous appetizers, mains and desserts. Can t wait to go back!
Fantastic dining experience. From the service to the food, we loved the entire experience. Congratulations XIX!!
Our hostess was Anna and she was amazing
Went tonight to celebrate my birthday, I was really excited as I heard plenty of compliments about the restaurant. For starters we had the Geyoza and baked brie. The Geyoza was actually close to perfect, soft, great filling and overall delicious. The brie was not that exciting, I d make a better one at home, no twist in the flavours. For the main dish we got the short ribs and gnocchi. The short rib was actually phenomenal, it was super soft and just amazing. As I was having my first bite to eat my gnocchi, I found a hair. That was super disappointing, pointed out to the waiter which he took the dish and had them make me a new one, when I got the gnocchi, I was already tired and ready to eat and leave but if I were you, I would steer clear from the gnocchi as it s super salty and unbalanced. For compensation, I got a cake on the house. It was the butter cake with ice cream. That was pretty good. Probably better than the gnocchi. suggestion to the restaurant: next time, if your guest finds hair in their food, you make them a new one and usually you don t charge them for having to wait twice for their main while my husband finish this food i had to wait for my food. I don t think I ll ever be back to 19.
Great restaurant, the service was great i also tried sablefish. Not my favorite, but the overall evening was amazing.
The appetizers were awesome. Had the kimchi arancini and the oyster special. Every bite was a symphony. And new. Something wonderful for people whove eaten about everything, everywhere. A wonder. But the mains were very underwhelming. The Sable was perfectly cooked, yet underseasoned with a buerre blanc that was way too thin. The burger, which we were told would be the best of all time, wasnt. It was mediocre. The chocolate paradise was brown tasteless cardboard, but the pistachio ice cream was okay. The service was friendly, and prompt. But the upsell! At this price point, not fine dining, but casual fine, I have never been so pushed at before. Yes we wish to drink still water, it is our beverage of choice, charge us if you want. Dont ask me about cocktails twice and then push mocktails, and then three minutes later return ask if I want a tea or coffee. I ordered what I wanted. When I had a question I asked. And then even for dessert when I ordered a coffee asking didnt I want a specialty coffee! The upset brings the whole experience down. Atmosphere is lovely.
Always amazing food the cocktails are on another level.
Our favourite Edmonton restaurant. Weve been coming here for the short rib for a decade. The servers stay consistent which is a testament to how its run. Try the Pizookie, and any drink, theyre all perfect. The winter Sangria is my favourite. You wont beat the service.
Main dish lobster raviolihad no lobster in it..(ricotta cheese at best)..watered down sauce..very soupy!..noisy..ambiance wasnt at all what we remembered..the waiter was pleasant...very disappointed.. not sure I will returned..not worth the money we spent..
Best pasta I ve ever consumed
