I recently dined at Chop Steakhouse, and it was a truly memorable experience. The highlight of my meal was the halibut perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor. It was absolutely amazing and exceeded my expectations. I also tried the steak bites, and they were fantastically delicious juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The service was excellent, with attentive and friendly staff who made sure everything was just right. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing evening. Great Lounge area and unbelievable staff. They make me feel like family everytime I walk in, and not to mention their food is unbelievable. Definitely my go to spot for a great evening. Highly recommend if you have not tried it yet!

One of the Absolutely best atmospheres you could ask for in a lounge. Cassidy from the bar deserves an extra shout out for her attention to customer service and great attitude. Will be back for sure!

I was ready to walk out because sold out on prime rib at Dinner. I was bummed and manger came and talked to and apologized she didn t expect running out so early for Steak house. She went above and beyond and even went to paying for my meal that I did not expect . Excellent customer Service. That majority of other establishments would have said to bad so sorry and by. I just have to say, WOW! The food and service here tonight was incredible! We have never been to a CHOP location before. My husband and I had been trying to find a great date night spot for a while now. It had been so long since we have gotten to sit down and have a wonderful meal. After much searching, we settled onto this gem, after reading about its steak cuts, drinks, and other wonderful menu options. With the experience we had? We are definitely glad we did! The service was spectacular, and we felt comfortable just being our selves. Bre was an amazing server, and made sure to be warm and welcoming. She was extremely knowledgeable on the menu, and answered any questions we had without hesitation. Had a lot of patience with us, and such positive personality! Ariel, the supervisor I am assuming, brought a on the house appetizer that was spectacular, after hearing this was our first time here, chosen for our date night. The service was warm, welcoming, and extremely delightful. It is refreshing to see and hear staff who genuinely want to be in their place of work. Showing excellent attitude, and positivity towards guests. The food was delicious, and we had a wonderful time reconnecting. Nothing like a perfectly cooked filet mignon, and a drink to spend wonderful quality time with your partner! We will definitely be back in the future. We are so thankful of the excellent service we received tonight overall with everything. This had definitely put a pep in our step, came out feeling satisfied and happy! Got the seafood pasta today at lunch. Had about half of it then opened up the last clam and it smelled horrible and stuck up our table. The clam obviously had expired. Server and manager were awesome as the took care of it and got me something else. Only reason I m leaving 1 star is because I am now home with serere food poisoning and vommiting a crazy amount due to this. I ate there around 4-5 hours ago. Just started feeling sick about an hour ago. Stay clear of the seafood pasta

My partner and I are in Edmonton for one night and wanted to treat ourselves. It was our first time eating at Chop and we made the right decision! The food is wonderful and the staff are friendly, fun, and competent. The steak was great, but the star of the show was absolutely the wild mushroom and goat cheese dip. Seriously, the dip is heavenly! Well be back the next time were in town for sure.

This was our first time visiting Chop Steakhouse & Bar. The service (Reanne) was outstanding! The staff were personable, attentive and even gave us a signed card for our anniversary. The appies were excellent and our steak was perfectly cooked. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend!

Disappointed with prime rib Such a sad cut..and small Food

I had the opportunity to eat with a friend here on Saturday August 31, 2024. The decor and atmosphere was nice and we received a very warm welcome from staff. Dinner started off great. The appetizers were really good. However our entrees did not turn out so well. I never complain but as I had only taken 2-3 bites the server came to me with concern and asked about the food. At that point I decided to be honest and let her know that I couldnt eat it. She apologized and took the plate away. The manager also came and spoke with me and hoped that I would come back. Having worked in fine dining establishments 25 years ago and eating out regularly this was some of the best service Ive seen. Very well handled. I will definitely come back as I think it may have just been an off night. Our server Shaye being able to realize quite quickly that I was not enjoying the food is rare. Well done.

Wonderful, Id recommend to anyone who likes steak. It was absolutely delicious - the steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and everthing was so tender and flavourful. Our server was friendly, prompt and paced our appetizers and meal very well. As soon as our drinks were close to emptied she offered us a new one, which was perfect because we were there to celebrate and wanted a few.

Our first time coming to CHOP. The customer service was exceptional! They made us feel very comfortable and welcomed. Our server was Rebecca and the manager nick came and welcome us to with a complimentary bread with caramelized goat cheese. (Super delicious). We top it off with the steak and lobster dinner and it was phenomenal well be back again

I had another incredible experience at CHOP. Stony Plain - 2 days in a row. - My server was Jayna - incredible spirit of hospitality. Her genuine smile is infectious. Relaxed attitude but on it - my drink was never dry. She gave me my space and always made sure I was taken care of and informed me of last drink and appy s for happy hour - she made sure I took advantage of whatever cost savings were available. My dinner came as ordered - steak prepared to perfection and served hot off the grill. She was socially engaging which showed she cared above and beyond. You can tell the difference between those servers where their shift is a pay check and those who genuinely care about those they serve to ensure they have an incredible memorable, delectable and fun experience. I travel allot and so appreciate being taken care of while on my business trips. Make sure to ask for Jayna when at CHOP Stony Plain - outstanding experience!!

The staff was just incredible, everyone who came to our table, from the greeter to the lady who brought us our bill, was exceptional. Best meal we ve eaten in Edmonton in the last 2 years.

This was honestly the best restaurant experience I have had. Being gluten free has been a significant challenge feeling safe to eat out, but the staff here was absolutely fantastic with accommodating with gluten free options. Our server Nick was super helpful navigating the menu and making changes so any items that could be made gluten free were gluten free. Overall great food and fantastic service. Would definitely recommend and go again.

Visited for an anniversary and the folks at Chop did not fail to impress. The waiter and his trainee were fantastic. Interacting just enough and being attentive to our needs. The food was quick and cooked exactly the way we asked for it. The wine recommendation was right on the money. And the dessert was - well - plate licking possible. Thanks a bunch for making our anniversary dinner a memorable one.

This restaurant chain is clearly trying to position itself as a Keg alternative, but the food quality was nowhere near what youd expect at that price point. We ordered the $25 crab cakes to start, and what came out were just two rather small, greasy, and unremarkable crab cakes. The pre-dinner bread was just average. The steak itself (we had the smoked ribeye) was large and had decent flavour, but the cut of meat, while thick, was not very high quality. It was rather chewy with lots of connective tissue. The mashed potatoes were very good but the other side vegetables were plain and somewhat crunchy. The atmosphere was loud, too much music in the background and everyone had to speak loud to be heard over it, so it didnt feel very intimate. Our server was very kind and accommodating, but overall I would not eat here again given the quality/price ratio.

First time here, anniversary dinner with my wife. Our server Zane and the manager Rachelle were so nice. They gave us an anniversary card signed by the staff and a free mini dessert. They were so awesome I almost didnt want to leave! Obviously the food was awesome too. Will definitely be back.

We went to the lounge for a nice dinner with friends but then a large group of babies young children with parents all we herd was yelling crying. Will not be going back.

went to chop for the first time for my friends graduation dinner! our server (i didnt catch her name unfortunately) was very very sweet and accomodating and always checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. the restaurant itself was beautiful and very comfortable. i had ordered a burger and had no complaints about that while everyone else ordered a steak. they said their steak was very well cooked, it was only the sides that were not the best. rice was dry and crunchy, beets were not soft and baked potato was not the fluffiest. the drinks we ordered were also good! just had higher expectations for their food ):

After visiting West Edmonton mall, give me for a late night bite and get some work done in preparation for the next day of business. This was a perfect location close to the mall and on our way back downtown to my hotel. Love to happy hour menu, service was fantastic and quick. Cocktails were fantastic! I think Ill stick with the steak bites again next time!

We randomly chose Chop for a get together with friends on Saturday, May 4, and it was so amazing! Our waitress in the lounge was delightful, helpful, happy and read our group to a tee. She made excellent recommendations, kept our drinks filled and was at our table without us waiting for her. The rest of the management staff was excellent as well, bringing us a complementary appetizer, checking on our drinks and stopping by after our main course arrived to see if we needed anything. The food was a 10 out of 10. Our table ordered steaks, lobster tails, and the amazing sides of loaded mashed potatoes. Everything was cooked to perfection. Our lovely waitress suggested upside pineapple cake for dessert, and the plates were scrapped clean!

We came here due to its proximity to our hotel. Our server was VERY friendly, she made sure we were doing fine in our table. My boyfriends soup came warm and my boyfriend wanted it hot. It was not a big deal as the soup was delicious, but our server said she would change it. I ordered NY steak and it was great! My boyfriend ordered the prime rib and he finished everything as well. Our drinks were refilled every time. I told our server that it was my boyfriends birthday thats why we are here in Alberta, they gave him a surprise birthday cake plus a card. It made our night! Took my whole family to celebrate mothers day yesterday. We had such an amazing experience and service from Jeff I mean Nick (Inside Joke). The food and atmosphere were outstanding, our support staff at the table was a bit less that we would have appreciated. However, I have hosted visitors and had family events at this location many times and this is the first where we were a bit disappointed with the staff performance. I would recommend this location for anyone, the food and ambiance exceed any minor staff deficiencies. Who knows, it may have been an off day, we all have them.

We visited Chop for the first time in December, when the manager heard from our server that it was our first time, they came and introduced themself and gave us a complimentary appetizer. They were amazing, our 1 year old was having a meltdown from a long day, and we were showing him things around the restaurant and all of the servers and hostesses were so kind and giving him smiles and helping us distract him. The food was soooo good, to the point that my husband hates goats cheese but the complimentary appetizer they gave us was the melted goat cheese dip, he LOVED it, so thank you for showing him how good it can truly be with your food. Will definitely go back whenever we re in the city!

Had lunch there 12 pm thursday feb 29th 2024. FOOD POISONING. 5 of us went there and have wings as an appetizer. Came out really quick which seemed alright at the time. Bit into mine and swallowed it. Realized the middle was somehow ice cold even though it appeared generally cooked. Stopped eating them, but i was the last one to eat one and the others had already finished and did not notice as i had grabbed the largest and thickest one. That one would have taken the longest to cook. Only thing i can guess is that they pre cook them 90 percent then toss them in fridge or freezer to be re cooked when ordered. One hour later i had to leave work, then spent the rest of the night and morning in severe pain. Somewhat lesser but still horrible results for the other 4 people in our lunch group. I also had ordered the $50 smoked rib eye steak. I love smoked meat products but this tasted like it was smoked over a camp fire fueled with painted fence boards. I could not get the horrible taste out of my mouth 9 hours later. Yes i have tons of experience with smoked meat products and have never had a horrid taste like that ever. To the owner or who ever from you that responds to these, i will never go back there again. Do not reply back with your pre filled out response to how you want to make things better and give you another chance. We will never eat here again ever. I am not emailing you, im not talking with you about it. The only reason i am even posting this is to make yourselves aware of this so it does not happen to anyone else, as well as let other future customers be aware.

We were in this Saturday for my mother in laws birthday, Chloe was the best and made our night so special! She recommended a filet mignon and it was the best steak I ve ever had. We will be back!!

My partner ordered the pistachio encrusted cod and I ordered the burger we also had French onion soup steak bite as appetizers...the soup was good the steak bites were tuff and under cooked, her cod was under cooked aswell as the crust had pumpkin seeds which were not listed in the ingredients, which she is allergic to..she told the server and they offered to prepare her something else but she declined because we came to eat together and not wait for them to cook something else..they did take the cod off the bill but we wont be back there because there just seems to be inconsistencies from the times weve been there before.. we also remember getting a bread with butter and never received that this time around..maybe they dont do that anymore..

Daria is always amazing;. Great atmosphere, food and drinks, and either a nice escape to work or to gather with colleagues.

We ate at a chops 8-9 years ago and didn t care for it so we never returned. We were invited to join some friends recently for supper at this location to celebrate 2 birthdays at once. The food was excellent. The service was outstanding. They even went so far as to gift us 2 complimentary deserts for the birthday celebrations. The menu has a great selection that is sure to appease to everyone. We really enjoyed our visit here and look forward to returning.

GO TO CHOP ON STONEY PLAIN ROAD AND MAKE SURE YOU GET JULIA!! I have had good waitresses in the past but my god Julia had the best energy of them all. My food was delectable but rather expensive. The restaurant seems fairly new with really comfortable booths, and the music was decent. But honestly I would go back just to talk to Julia!

The food was amazing and our server, Micaela, was the best. She gave us the best service ever!!!

Went to Chop for the first time the other night and I had the most amazing experience! My server Julia provided us with a free appetizer since it was our first, which we chose steak bites and it was delicious! Julia was also very sweet and outgoing making it such a pleasant and fun experience. ps the pineapple upside down cake was out of this world. Will definitely not be my last time!

CHOP West Edmonton does not disappoint when it comes to their service and the food that they give. Their Oven Roasted Chicken is I would say a unique dish that I keep on coming back for. Thank you for your attentive and welcoming service! Will be back soon for sure for more.

Friendly service and great food!

Went there to celebrate a birthday. The food was excellent (not many places can do a blue rare steak and they were able to do it). The service was fantastic! The first crème brûlée wasnt set properly so they switched it out for 2 minis instead which was great of them to do. Have always enjoyed going here for food but with the extra service to make a great birthday, we would definitely come back!!

Our server Ariel was amazing, it was my first time there and I loved it. We celebrated my dad s birthday and she was super friendly, bubbly, and efficient. I would 100% recommend it was a very positive experience!

This is the 2nd time at Chop! 1st at chop was at a different location. Servers were not nice, service was definitely a 1 star, and the steak was nothing special. At this stony plain location, from the moment me and my partner walked in, we were greeting with a friendly face, and seated. Food was superb and service was superb. The tab came out to 200+ for this special occasion. I always order nothing but the best (rib eye, lobster & mushrooms) and the server & chef made it perfect. Thank you! Will definitely back! Thank you Chop! You have earned a longtime customer!

My Husband and I had eaten at Chop for the first time this weekend. Friday night we had drinks and appies, and were approached by the supervisor who had offered us an introductory appetizer for first time customers. Our waitress Lana was really enjoyable. She was friendly and professional. Checked on us constantly. We decided to try the lounge again on Saturday night as it was convenient staying at the Sandman. We had Lana again and the experience was wonderful. We had both ordered the steak and they were cooked to perfection! Highly recommend Chop. The food is amazing the service is top notch!

We came here for Valentine s Day after not having eaten here for a couple years. We had previously gone to a different location and the food was outstanding. We made a reservation and when we arrive we were seated at what seems to be a booth for 6 which was incredibly spacious and comfortable. We started with the crabcakes which were superb along with a couple dirty martinis which blew my socks off (best I ve had). We both ordered the smoked ribeye and it was to die for. Our server Nick really made this dinner special. He was patient with our extended menu viewing, friendly, polite, detail oriented, and overall a great presence. This was probably the best dinner experience that I have ever had and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great night out. FYI the pricing is comparable to earls and the keg.

Thought Id surprise my wife nice valentines day dinner ,was not happy with the 32 oz rib eye ,it was tough and more fat than meat ,I did mention it to the server she was ignoring my words ,with the bill coming to 250 bucks fur 2 people with appetizer, which was lobster mac ,so dry or food was not hot not pleased at all considering it was 250 bucks. Disappointed in my meal not impressed at all.

The food was delicious, and the service was very good. The dining area was nice and quiet.

Thank you for being so helpful! Im on a carnivore diet and the chef made me a beautiful beef sandwhich for lunch today. Our lovely waitress helped me sort out what I could eat from the menu. I had 2 in house made beef patties with 2 slices of cheese topped with bacon with steakbites and butter on the side. It was wonderful! Thanks again.

Pros: Food tasted good, staff was friendly, beer came quickly. Cons: portions small, 45 minute wait from order to food arriving, didn t receive water until almost finished meal despite asking for it with drink order. Parking was a pain. Overall: I ll cut some slack because it was the christmas rush and very busy. However, don t expect to leave full despite spending $30-$60 a person. Parking: Chaotic and difficult but it was December 20 so a lot of Christmas traffic.

I love dinning at Chop! I have such a great experience every time I go here and it is definitely one of my fav restaurants in the city! Food : 5/5

I was pleasantly surprised to find I had one of the best prime ribs here at Chop! The food was absolutely phenomenal. The prime rib was done perfect the first time, the seafood pasta was delicious and dessert was superb! Service was excellent. Our waiter was super nice, checked on us quite often, and even struck up conversations with the kids. I am most definitely coming back!

Came with a table of 12, and I had a reservation. No one told us the menu in the lounge was different. Ok...workable, but not having 3 of the steak options (prime rib, bone in steak, then New York strip not available? And then, waiting 45 minutes to tell us after ordering? Also, appetizers missing. It was a disappointing experience. It was a 50th Birthday party, so very much a letdown. And to be charged an automatic 18% gratuity... the waitresses were nice, but the wait and lack of options. We will not return.

We went to dine at Chops on New Year s Eve dinner. We had a reservation. It was a full house but we expected that as it was a busy night for everyone. We waited to be seated in our table and order our food right away so lessen the waiting time. Surprisingly, the food came faster than expected and thats a plus. Every staff were really great to check on us from time to time and talk and play with my Son. Experience is amazing, foods are delish and ambience is perfect. It was a full house but it did not look crowded. Parking: It is an open and free parking Kid-friendliness: They are really friendly people. Offered my son booster and there is kids menu.

First time at chop for New Year s Eve dinner. Was delicious. I enjoyed everything I had. Steak, mashed, mushrooms, chicken wings, specialty coffee. All was delicious. Atmosphere and restaurant was great and nice bathrooms.

Had an amazing experience here. We took our Aunt who is visiting from out of province and she has a lot of food allergies. The waitress and supervisor went over and above to make sure she found something she could eat and even brought her extra veggies. They didn t make us feel bad, but quite the opposite. They kept checking with chefs for ingredients. They were so friendly, if I could give more than 5 stars I would. Incredible service. Thank you so much for being so awesome!
