Chophouse featuring a raw bar, dry-aged beef & classic cocktails in a polished, modern setting.
One of my favourite steak restaurants in Edmonton, LUX Steakhouse + BAR94, and it never disappoints! The ambiance is perfect, the staff are attentive, and the food is always exceptional. Every visit feels like a special occasion. Highly recommend for anyone seeking an amazing dining experience!
Last weekend I attended my work Christmas party hosted at this restaurant. I have to say I was quite happy that we chose to take the staff to this location! Booking was seamless and Sarah was amazing to deal with! She accommodated all special requests and the countless questions patiently. The service was unforgettable. Thanks to the ladies that took care of our group. I know we kept you busy! The food was amazing and the portions were unreal! Everyone at work on the following Monday had nothing but good remarks in regards to the food. Book your event here! They will take great care of you! And who doesn’t help supporting family own business!
Had an excellent dining experience at LUX Steakhouse! The food was fantastic: our steaks were perfectly cooked, and the lobster mac & cheese was to die for. The ambiance was upscale yet welcoming, making it a great spot for a special evening. We also appreciated the attentive service, especially from Sarah, the manager, who checked in with us personally. Her friendly approach made the evening feel even more special. Highly recommend LUX for anyone looking for a great meal and wonderful service in Edmonton!
This was my first time here, and certainly my last. Too many factors made this night out for us a failure. A waste of money and leaving us extremely unsatisfied. We started with their mushroom soup, which was very good. Their wings followed that, and to my surprise they were horrible, definitely a mistake ordering their wings. We also had the bread and butter, Glad they didn't mess that up. They sure did burn the life out of the Brussel sprouts we ordered, they were bitter, sour, and extremely burnt. Our mains were again, highly underwhelming in mostly all aspects of the dish. Sides: The poutine was run of the mill, the lobster mac and cheese was a laughable dish.. my wife called it mac and water... it's watery, they must have missed the cheese part? No flavor, tiny amounts of lobster, and absolutely flavorless. I hope you enjoy paying 22$ for a joke if a mac and cheese. My wife's tenderloin was meh, she has had better steaks for cheaper ... I had the strip loin and it was terrible. No seasoning. Asked for medium , and it was served well done... Nothing about this meal could save this establishment in my eyes. It was just a terrible culinary experience and I definitely feel "had" or "gotten" by them. I urge you to avoid this establishment as it Is definitely not upscale nor do they serve a worthy dish. Shame on LUX. Hey look at the bright side, at least our server refilled my coke faster than I could drink em, that's the only thing they've got going - trash experience from a very dissatisfied customer.
Went here for drinks with some of my friends after work and I am very pleased with the service and atmosphere. The bartender who I believe is the owner has a great way to make people laugh, feel welcome and overall have a great time. The place was classy and the drinks were strong which I love. I have recommend coming here to a few people and will be happy to come back soon.
Ordered on skip and while the food was ok(they do tell you right on the menu that they undercook for deliveries so my medium rare being almost blue rare was a shock but can easily happen) I was very disappointed by the portions and food. No where did it say that the steaks only come with a garnish so we assumed we were getting a side with our meals and for $40 the lobster tail was so tiny! Just expected alot more for the price we were paying. Called the restuarant and while he said there was nothing he could do about the order they would look at the available menu and hopefully make it clear you have to order sides separately. Unfortunately would not order again, feel like I was overcharged for what we got and will stick to Chop and the Keg. For reference the 6oz tenderloin with the 4 shrimp, and peppercorn sauce was $65(you can see why i thought you get a side) and the 8oz new york strip with bernaise and the lobster tail was $95, the lobster tail being $40 by itself. They did inform me right away that my soup was forgotten and refunded me that so that was nice.
I was here for happy hour and to take advantage of their whiskey day. 20% off all scotches and whiskey was fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed my selection. The beef sliders and the oysters were a good quality as well. Service was good, but I felt a little pressure and having to keep ordering it as my server checked in me every 15 minutes or so. Notably, there weren't a lot of customers at the time when I visited. I had some work, and needed some time to focus to get some work done. Decor was fantastic and I enjoyed my time there. They have a great menu with a special on each day of the week and for an out of towner, it's a perfect spot to kick back, enjoy a few drinks and guess them work done if needed.
Amazing experience. Cannot wait to go back again. Our server Forrest was so great with his recommendations and speed of service. It was my first time coming here and definitely will not be the last time. The food was incredible.
Update: Dec 2024 Came here for my step daughters Quinceanera. The staff were wonderful and accommodating. They really made the girls feel like gold. The manager Bob and Waiter Joanne took excellent care of all of us. They wrote Maddy a birthday card which made her very happy. They exceeded our expectations and the food was excellent. Would highly recommend for a special occasion. .... Had a business lunch here with seven people. It felt a bit odd walking through the bar to get to the restaurant if you enter from inside Manulife. Would have preferred a hostess at the entrance. The hostess and wait staff were lovely and had a natural flow and charm to small conversation. I started with the mushroom soup and was delightfully surprised that it was not cream based. It had a savoury dark broth base with pureed mushrooms and truffle oil. Next time I will order a full size. I ordered the Kale Super Salad. It was good. However, one of the other people ordered it gluten free and vegan, which removes the goat cheese and quinoa, which resulted in all three of us who ordered it having no cheese or quinoa. That was unfortunate and I was disappointed. The skirt steak was fantastic! Perfect salt and pepper crust and red on the inside. It was my favorite part. It was a nice lunch, with minor issues. I would return.
Not a great experience. The appetizer we chose were not available because they were preordered for larger groups. This was dissapointing. Our server was wonderful and attentive. Our meals were sub par. My steak salad sounded inviting but the steak was un chewable. The mashed potato side was cold. The mushroom side was very good. Will not return as the price did live up to the the food or atmosphere. The bathrooms were also flooding. Unfortunate for a special occasion for us.
I ve been to Lux a few times and the food and service have always been amazing. Their host, servers, chefs, managers have always gone over and beyond to give the best dining experience. I would recommend getting lobster mac and cheese, burger, bone marrow and escargot, surf and turf and steak (ribeye or striploin). I spent my birthday there the other night and it was an unforgettable experience. It definitely made my birthday a lot more special. If you haven t tried then that means you should.
Nice bar area but the dining area is very chilly. Doesn t make for a nice dining experience.
Steak was cooked well. Wings were oddly disappointing. Food decent overall.
Thank you Sarah, you had great service at the bar front.
We came here this evening for a birthday and from the food to the atmosphere, we just were not all that impressed. If you don t read further than this, we would recommend for a special occasion. For cocktails and a light bite, it could be alright Firstly, we thought the atmosphere was quite drab upon getting seated in the dining room, this would be where it lost the most points in my opinion. Cramped dining room, strange lighting, and a continual coldness from the door revolving every couple minutes. It s winter and we were freezing the entirety of our meal. The food was just ok but not nearly worth the price. I will say that the appetizers were probably the highest quality, we got the baked Brie and the steak tartare. Those were the best things of the night. The two steaks and sides left much to be desired, the cooking was fine just thought the cuts and sides did not have all that much flavour. Not really what I d expect when there s steakhouses in the area with comparable (if not cheaper) prices and much better quality. The biggest disappointment was dessert. The cheesecake was just plain bad, it was giving superstore quality with bland sauce over top. Nothing to even celebrate my partner s birthday. Service was alright, friendly but not anything special that I ve had at restaurants with more reasonable price tags. The host upon arrival was excellent but the actual server was not very personable. It really felt very transactional. Overall, it just isn t worth the price. We did appetizers, entrees, wine, and dessert for two and it was almost $300 including tip. I m fine spending this amount as it was a birthday but I definitely would not return.
That was not busy on the weekday when we came. As we expected. Food was perfect!
We had a reservation the only option I had was for high top so I picked that but that was in the bar and it wasn t busy at all so we asked to move to a booth they sat us at the booth by the bar so it was really loud with the music. I ordered the lollipop rib eye(24oz). There wasn t a price on it and I should have asked but thought it was going to be a reasonable price. And it was super over priced it was 180$for that one steak I couldn t believe it. I put in the reservation it was our anniversary dinner and nothing was said or done about it. I was very disappointed on the price and our experience I would not go there again. Our total price was 350$ just for me and my wife
Good steak. Not much for dry aged though
Visited this restaurant over the weekend with friends before our concert. While the food was satisfactory, the service went downhill. My friend had substituted an item, did not receive it, and the waitress did not return to check in soon enough (so my friend resigned and ate her meal). When she mentioned it, all she got was but did you like it? (no apology or acknowledgement). Wine was requested during the meal, it came half way through and she poured the whole carafe into the glass. It also took a very long time to receive our bills and had to rush to our concert. Would not return, and would not recommend.
One of the best meals we had ever had!! Service was top notch. We will definitely be going back again.
Food was great taste wise, but for the amount that yoy pay for the serving is small. Ordered steak and it comes with no sides( except 2 slices or brocolli and carrots). Ambience is really great those, cocktails are amazing.
Sarah makes the best espresso martinis. Highly recommended!
I have never felt more taken care of then I did by Rae we were able to get in for Game 7 of the SCF and despite the loss, the service we had from her was actually incredible and made things feel better. Rae made us feel welcomed, respected and was incredible friendly. I wish we could ve given more than we did, but I hope she knows we re so thankful for her.
Love your place. Went for date night with my lovely woman and we loved it here.
Marks the best bartender in Edmonton! Awesome place great staff and food
Nice place to be, if you go in always ask for Mark. He is the best ever. Parking: Commerce Place parking lot, 101 St street parking Wheelchair accessibility: Elevator, handicap Ramp
So disappointed that Luxe removed their gluten free fryers. Was an amazing treat to go here for this reason and being celiac. Now just like everywhere else. Also no gluten free menu and some of the servers dont want to go through the entire menu to tell you what you can have or not. More like what do you want and we will see if you can eat it kind of awkward doing this in front of the people you are dining with. Seems like an easy fix is to just have a seperate menu for something as common as a gluten allergy. The new menu and taking away the gluten free fryer was definitely a downgrade in my opinion. I will be sharing this on the gluten free apps as well so the other celiacs know there are a lot less options now. Still good food though and great atmosphere and nice staff.
I give three stars because of the excellent server Joanne absolute sweat heart and treasure of a lady but the food here seriously sucks 60 dollars for a unseasoned rib eye that was seared apparently no char or flavor luke warm steak tender good piece of meat but no seasoning or flavor i can see why they encourage you to buy sauces its extremely bland and flavorless without it but the wait staff joanne and the other tall beautiful young girl were definitely a cut above and absolutely wonderful they saved us from what would have been a totally lacluster experience can see why this restaurants empty it leaves way more to be desired was very clean and a beautiful resturant with a fantastic drink menu but if your coming here for the steak to say you will be disappointed is an understatement underwhelming if not for our fantastic waitress
Always good food. Came here on birthday super friendly and delicious meal.
Went here for the first time was great, steak was delicious, beer was good , as was the cheesecake.
What a wonderful place to go for lunch. The food was delicious and the staffs were friendly and every staff that came to our table always had a smile. The service Ashley was friendly and polite. She has a great sense of humor. Keep up the good job everyone. Definitely will return. Vegetarian options: I had the mushroom toast and it came with fries.
We highly recommend this restaurant and often come for wine Wednesday and date nights. We hosted our wedding reception here and we were so happy with everything. The existing ambiance and elegance of Lux made it so easy to add a just few centrepieces and we were set. Our guests a week later have reached out with so many compliments on the amazing service throughout the night. From coordinating Dj and photo booth set up, to tray passing during cocktail hour, and from helping us create signature drinks and a custom menu, to an exellent dinner service (my steak was cooked perfectly). They treated us with such warmth and hospitality. They were so wonderful to work with, going above and beyond to make our dreams come to reality. Parking: Underground parking in commerce place
My favourite place to get a steak at. You what you pay for when it comes to quantity and the ribeye is amazing
Food not worth the money, there is practically no taste.
Had an experience here. The food was terrible yet super expensive. Fries were dead, burned, and too much oily. Water was having a weird sweet taste as well.
My experience at LUX Steakhouse during Edmonton Downtown Dining Week was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The ambiance was elegant, setting the perfect tone for a memorable evening. Lets talk about the steak - it was simply divine! Cooked to perfection, each bite melted in my mouth, leaving me craving for more. The chefs at LUX truly understand the art of grilling a steak to perfection. Additionally, their premium selection of Scotch whisky was a delightful surprise. It complemented the meal perfectly, adding an extra layer of sophistication to the dining experience. What truly stood out, however, was the impeccable service. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure our evening was nothing short of perfect. Overall, LUX Steakhouse surpassed my expectations in every aspect. Its a gem in the heart of Edmonton, and I cant wait to return for another delightful dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in top-notch cuisine and impeccable service.
The food and service here were great. I was properly and immediately seated while also being handled with warmth. The food was served fast with reasonable portion sizes and was amazing on the taste senses. This is a well-put-together business that I strongly suggest. THANK YOU TO both Sarah s
Three of us went and had sirloin steak, fried brussel sprouts, fries and the burger. We ate the chocolate torte and butter tart pie for dessert. Steaks came out cooked perfectly and the brussel sprouts were a highlight of the meal. The chimichurri sauce was amazing. Service was top notch. If you are looking for a delcious steak meal experience, check out LUX!
Steak for 62$ was horrible and then they give you powder potatoes on top of it . I don t recommend Is also ridiculous in terms of prices Food
Fun place to hangout with friends and very good food
Incredible staff, great food, great spot! Thank you Dale, Brittany, and Andrew for an awesome night!
I m giving it two stars because this place is extremely overpriced . $85 for a 10 ounce dry aged steak? Our server was very good and friendly but we waited almost an hour for our meals . The steak was very good , but not worth $85. I would never come back here
I enjoy going to BAR94. Mark the bartender is a great guy. Always very friendly and quick witted. Makes a great Old Fashioned. Just a nice place to chill at the bar.
I went this evening as I was on the hunt for a good steak and it was great! I paid $82.00 for a sirloin, salad, drink, a side, and tip. The host and waitress were both lovely. The steak was a touch undercooked (I had ordered medium well and my steak was a touch more medium) but I honestly didnt notice. Delicious food and drinks. Will be back! Parking: Had to park in the paid parking area.
Had dinner here on New Years and was so unimpressed. The steak they served was brutal. Tasted like the cow lived in a swamp; easily the worst tasting steak I ve ever experienced in my life. I don t think I could procured a worse tasting piece of beef if I was actively trying. I expected much more for the price point that these guys were charging. My wife and I spent 400 dollars on our meal and I could have made a good tasting version of this exact meal for under 50 dollars at home. Not sure how a steakhouse manages to screw up a steak but Lux outdid themselves.
Oooookkkkk let me tell you .. TERRIBLE what in the hell did I just eat or not eat . I ate the blandest chicken I have ever had in my life.the rotisserie bbq chicken at superstore is a 10 compared to this serious.. the Portuguese style from superstore would be a 13 .what happened to flavour? Not even salt and pepper, preparation no joke I feel like the gravy was from kfc. it was like a thick gelatine, light brown in color. if it was just me complaining, invalid. but it was 4 of us that ordered this monstrosity To be fair the steaks looked amazing and the staff were extremely nice and attentive. don t get the no flavour chicken .. we substituted the gnocchi for mashed potato s, the gnocchi came with veggies and we expected the same. why wouldn t they serve the mash with the same veggies? all of us just looked at each other like ahhhhhhhh .. what is this? sooo bland honestly, never again I think this ruined kfc for me how is this place still open? it s not the chicken . Why did I not take pictures .. what was I thinking p.s this is the first review I have ever written .. if that says anything
Had a fabulous dinner Saturday night. The IDGAF old fashioned was quite the experience as well. Great service! Our server Brittany was so friendly! Thank you LUXX Food
I had an amazing experience today, me and my wife went out for Valentine s Day and had a beautiful time at the Lux Steakhouse. I want to give a huge shout out to Forrest, he was one of the best servers I ve ever had and made the experience very enjoyable. The food was great and would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Great steak and their service is always top notch!
I visited this venue on my birthday, 6 February 2024. It was an experience I will not soon forget. The server treated me like a Queen, and was attentive, experienced, and warming. I brought my best friend, her son, and my daughter. All of our meals were cooked to perfection, and served with an experienced idea of when to arrive, depending on where we were in our moments of celebration. I have been a loyal customer of LUX for years, and I see they still have what it takes to remain on top. Five stars to the moon and back! - Courtney
Food was super tasty, glass was clean, drinks were Cold and Sara and Jorja would make Anyone want to come back the next day for lunch ,, I was Wowed today thank you
The butter tart pie with salted caramel ice cream was amazing
It was a delightful New Year s Eve spent with friends in a wonderful atmosphere. I enjoyed the delicious steak, the side of mushrooms, and the fresh, delightful Putin.
Before reading my review further; everything with my experience has been rectified- the regional manager Dale has done a superb job reaching out, establishing a connection, and ensuring that he would do everything in his power to re-do our experience and surpassed our expectations. When we do go back I m hopeful to dismiss this review entirely! An honest review: To begin, I set a request on OpenTable with some requests that were happily met! The service from the very beginning was more than amazing- our server Natalie or Natalia (I apologize for forgetting) was genuinely beyond expectations. She was extremely helpful with the menu, offered suggestions outside and within our usual realm, personal and fan favourites, etc. Consistently catering to whatever we needed without any inquisitions that help was required. However; The issue s began throughout the food. I had ordered an 8oz striploin, a $40 lobster tail, and a side of broccolini, and my girlfriend a 6oz sirloin, the lobster tail and a side of the Money Mash which realistically came out fairly dry and unflavoured. We had both asked for medium rare to which hers was undeniably perfect, however; mine was closer to medium/well done. I m not usually picky but this was like chewing a piece of tarmac. Our server was more than outgoing to bring it back and exchange it as she agreed it wasn t correct and in return I received yet another well done striploin- I swear to you I can manifest a juicier and more tender concoction on my BBQ. Once again she felt so bad but I d rather not waste and be a pretentious jerk as I work 5x 10-12 hour shifts on a drill, it was still good meat. The final straw came amidst trying my side of broccolini when the new steak came with a couple (cooked) whereas my side felt like bamboo shooting through my teeth. I provided a plain- but funny, example to the server proving how undercooked my original order was and was instantly offered a free desert which was amazing! I feel so bad that she was embarrassed over the outcome whilst again I m usually not one to complain but for a $300+ meal I expected better than The Keg. Great atmosphere and service, rough first experience. Parking: Parking lots are fairly close, alongside underground parking which is difficult for larger trucks. ~$25 for 3 hours.
Service in the bar area was great, but the food was quite disappointing. It took almost an hour for our food to come out and all 3 dishes were underwhelming.
I had takeout and I ordered salmon and creamed spinach and kale. The salmon was supposed to come with asparagus. I would have never ordered this dish if I knew they would only give me two small pieces of zucchini instead of asparagus. It wasn t even seasoned, just lightly salted accompanied with raw unseasoned tomatoes that was not on the menu. The salmon was decent. The creamed spinach and kale was good. Definitely need bread to dip it with. I wish they d update the menu to reflect what we actually receive. I wouldn t order from here again for that reason.
Amazing food great atmosphere and Mark pours the best cocktails ever!!!
Prob one of the best burgers Ive ever had in my life. It was mindblowingly tasty.
This place has been a local favourite for years!! Always great food and service... they really go above and beyond! The bar side is fantastic and a great place to just just hang out or watch the game. The restaurant side is perfect for lunch meetings or dinners. And, the private room is perfect for receptions, meetings and meals.
Amazing food and amazing staff
Hands-down, one of the best steakhouse in Edmonton. LUX Steakhouse is a must if you love steaks. Been to LUX numerous times, and have been impressed by the consistently highest quality of food thats perfectly prepared. The atmosphere is welcoming and the service is exceptional. Their Blackforest cake is amazing. Highly recommended.
What a spot! We were given the best service and a great meal. The rib eye and blackened brussels really. A special thanks goes out to the gal who took me out to this one of a kind steak house.
Service was amazing, nice atmosphere, Price was a bit high for the quality of some items.
Lets start with positives. Service was 5/5 Our server was super attentive, sweet, friendly and efficient. But unfortunately thats where the compliments end. The food is ok.. but what drives it down is the price tag that comes with it, it is really OVER PRICED. Hate to say it but i would never recommend this restaurant due to the prices. Waaay too expensive for basic cut steaks.
Excellent cocktails for happy hour!
To the Vegan that gave the 1 star... Why would you go to a Steakhouse in the first place? your opinion is useless for anyone wanting to go to a steakhouse. Theres plenty of grass outside and its free. Take a hike. I however loved the Steak Tartare :)
Lux is amazing! ... But is it $450 for 2 ppl amazing?
This isnt just a great steakhouse and lounge, this is a wonderful experience. Fabulous dinner before an Oilers game. Surf and turf was perfect, unbelievable poutine, and the camembert was the best starter. Whether youre heading downtown for dinner before a game, or just looking for a great cocktail in the lounge, this is the place to go. Brittany was a great, knowledgeable, attentive server that made our experience excellent.
Great place to hold business meetings.
Food: mediocre. Table service: excellent. Management: the worst our group has ever experienced.
Rented the private vintage room. Communications with the Lux prior to booking clearly stated that we could play music from our Android or Apple devices. This was not true. We ended up purchasing cables required to play the music on the Lux systems. Once we played music management was very rude about volume which surprised everyone because the Lux offered a DJ as an option. Service was rushed when they were in the room but slow and irregular to tend to us. Clearing dishes or getting drinks was not done at the rate Id expect for the price. Long durations between the courses was also a red flag. We were 12 in a room with 24 capacity but everything seemed to be understaffed.
Our server was fantastic. Very personable and funny. The food was amazing and I would also recommend a person check out Bar 94 for an amazing cocktail before or after dinner.
Such good food! Obviously the steaks were fantastic but the brussel sprouts were probably my favourite dish
We had our yearly business party here tonight. Food and service was good.
Perfection from start to finish!! Our Surf & Turf meals were exceptional and Brittany was excellent!!
Its sort of like a fancier keg. The food was good but a bit pricey. We ordered the bacon as starter and it was so delicious. I had the 6oz tenderloin and was not disappointed. Here you order your sides to share. We got the brussel sprouts and twice baked potato and both were amazing! The portion size was great as well. Their wine list was ok, but again quite pricey. Our server was fantastic but it wasnt very busy the night we went, so that likely helped. My only real complaint is that we were in this little side dining room with a fire place - which was great but they were playing one kind of music in this room and then another kind of music in the rest of the restaurant and it was super distracting to be hearing two musics over too of each other all night. Dietary restrictions: Celiac friendly. Lots of options and the kitchen and serving staff were cautious and accommodating.
Reasonable place to go for fine dining, prices to fit your budget, great atmosphere and service.
I can t understand why people put up with behaviour like this. Are all waitresses and restaurant staff on the prowl?! One of the employees sitting with a group of business men, flirting, clearly had something going on with one of them, but c mon! This is where you work! I found it very distasteful.
Outstanding service from the minute I walked in I was treated so well by Annie and Steve I cant say enough good things about this place. Alana and Lyndsey were simply the best servers. I cant even I am so thankful for how they helped me pull my moms 70th off with zero problems. Super cute bar too and the food was EXCELLENT
Wow, you will clean your plate!
Came here for our anniversary, had the burger and tenderloin both were amazing, twice baked potato was really dry. Drinks were fantastic, service was prompt and server was friendly and polite. Would definitely return for another dinner here.
Got the 8oz Striploin and the Lobster Mac and Cheese. Extremely satisfied. Food was cooked to order. Try their Truffle gravy mushroom poutine.
It was a lovely evening out. The great food and all of the staff were exceptional. Id be there all the time if I lived closer. Parking: Lots of parking right underneath.
Loved it, we were greeted by the manager, then taken care of by the bar manager, new bar tender and our server was attentive and very personal, one of our new favorites.
Had a team lunch at LUX Steakhouse & Bar 94. That was a great experience from start to finish by elegant ambiance, attentive service, and outstanding cuisine.
Mother s Day weekend in Edmonton was an absolute success, thanks to LUX Steakhouse & Bar. The drinks were amazing!!. The food was out of this world (wish I had food photos). If you re ever in Edmonton this space is a must try!!
Lux has been around for years. I was enticed to try it from word of mouth, after the renovations and new menu. For a steakhouse, I expected a wow factor, which was missing. The steak was good however the cauliflower was over salted and over cooked. It might have been an off night. I would try it again.
Wow.. apparently this is a quiet bar where one should not listen to videos on your phone cause it disturbed customers seated four tables away. Phone was not set a super high volume - confused by Mark the managers comments. There were only two tables seated in the entire restaurant at the time. A larger group of 4 to 5 people at a single table and myself. Have to wonder about whats going on.
Fantastic service. Amazing food. Phenomenal atmosphere. Visiting from out of town, had a great sever, Brittany. 10/10 experience. Accommodating when I mentioned dairy-free Food
Everything was fantastic. Our servers was a delight and the food was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend the truffle gravy with your steak and the broccoli and kim-cheese and twice baked potato.
For Lux sakes I couldnt tell what was easier to cut, the butter or the steak Serious case of Meat sweats going on here. 2 complaints: -The bartenders broken heart, such a swell fella ladies -Not going here place sooner
Great experience with Mark. He actually made an awesome espresso martini. Great post event drink location
Excellent steak and private dining room was also available for larger parties. Highly recommendes.
Ive been to LUX for lunch twice in the past couple of months. Their servers are friendly and attentive. They give advice when one asks, but not unsolicited. Id heard some concerns from others about quality declining, but in my opinion, their food is better than ever. Steaks are cooked as ordered, salads, soups are all reasonable sizes. Ill be back for sure!
We had a big family event in the private room, for the menu was limited to a preset choice at $75 a plate. Plus tip . The Caesar salad was absolutely tasteless and very poor quality. The steak was nicely done with great flavor with a Demi glaze and great potatoes but I thought the one small carrot was a bit understated. The third item was a flavored citrus ? cheesecake that was amazing !! The ambience of the room was very nice and the service was very good. Overall a very good experience but just quite not as polished as it should be for $75.
This is a fabulous restaurant with delightful staff. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere is stellar.
I attended Lux for a rehearsal dinner party and was very impressed. The steak and the cheesecake were amazing!!! The staff were very friendly and efficient. I also had a conversation with the person who booked/planned the event and she said they were great to work with!!
Indeed a great experience with my steak
Place to go for a very good steak.
Best place for a Tomahawk Steak
Amazing Food and service, thank you very much for the experience.
Overall a nice atmosphere and great service but the food was disappointing. The server was excellent and the around the world cocktail was wonderful. The atmosphere was nice and refined. The calamari was mostly brussel sprouts and was overcooked/dry. The dry aged steak had a char (not a personal fan of this style)on it but was a good cut. The twice baked potato was very good. Parking: Lots of paid parking garages
Nice
Good service, been here for events as well as personally. Food is average to good. Wait time can be long depending on how busy it is.
Came here last Saturday to celebrate our anniversary there was no wait which was nice. Place has a nice ambiance. Our server I believe her name was Jessica or Amanda I can t remember now but she was great, gave us good recommendations for apps and drinks which didn t disappoint. We got the truffle perogies which were delicious must try! Drink I had the el chapo it s tequila based I enjoyed it but it is strong. The strawberry lime drop is good as well it s more on sweet side but not too sweet not as strong. My husband enjoyed the mojito. For dinner I had the tenderloin which was delicious. I wouldn t recommend the peppercorn sauce. And honestly the steak was juicy so no need for the extra sauce. My husband enjoyed his aged ribeye. Keep in mind the sides aren t included and they are an extra cost. But they re big enough to share for a couple we got the lobster Mac and cheese which is amazing will not disappoint! It s not as creamy as others we ve had and we actually enjoyed that. We also had the truffle mushroom poutine so good as well. Overall I would recommend and would def go again. Parking: We parked underground right beside restaurant and paid $5 for the evening.
For a first-time visit to Lux at a work dinner, unfortunately this place has as many cons as pros. The steak is good, though the included vegetables are very few and were undercooked. The servers were friendly, but unfortunately we were there for over 3 hours with unforeseen delays on our food. The manager came out and apologized for the delay, and offered us free wine and dessert, however when the bill came around they accidentally overcharged 1 steak, and only covered one persons wine out of the 4 people. The sorbet was unfortunately really syrupy and tasted as though it had been freeze-thawed. The ambience of the place is cozy, though the lights over each table were a little uncomfortably bright. Overall this place has potential with a little TLC, and the workers were slammed with a private gathering so it could have just been a tough night for them. I will applaud the staff for handling food allergies however, from menu knowledge to serving. Overall, 3/5. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options.
Had our anniversary dinner there last Saturday. Was greeted by mark who gave us a great booth which was very comfortable and private. Vanessa was our server and she was amazing. There was a fair bit going on, but she made sure our drinks were full (and that was a full time job itself lol) and was very attentive to our needs. Mark checked up on us and we could not have asked for a better evening. We will definitely be back. Yes the food was out of this world, but it was the service that put it over the edge. Thanks again to Mark, Vanessa and team.
Had my birthday dinner at Lux Steakhouse. The waitress was very attentive and personable. Food was beyond expectations. Its definitely worth every penny. Will be returning for another fabulous steak dinner. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly cocktails, my son enjoyed the peach palmer!
Just ok. Expected more. Food was good but not great. Might have been an off night. All my guests said the same. Service was excellent
Highly recommend this restaurant for large groups and bigger events. The price was spot on and the staff ARE AMAZING! Just because of them the price didnt matter, and their hospitality made our whole table happy we chose their restrant! Definitely will be back, like a lot. Really the best restaurant experiance and staff ever. O also they know their meats and drinks really educated and formal individuals.
If you are craving for a wonerful piece of meat and attentive service - this is the right place to be. Super welcoming staff, great food and interior. Definitely a must try!
Phenomenal space to hold your event. The Canadian Press Relations Society held their 60th anniversary there this weekend. The staff was attentive, the food was hot, and the company was divine. It is hard to coordinate the delivery of breakfast to 60+ people, but Lux handled it well. We will definitely be back!
Best steak in Edmonton! Plus the extensive wine menu. Must visit before a hockey game or concert or just because!
The dining room is so big so it doesnt have that intimate vibe. Not really high end... definitely been to way classier steak houses. Ok experience, not memorable.
Love stopping here for a drink, the bartenders are so sweet. Drinks are excellent.
As another reviewer wrote, service was incredible. The food was disappointing. I returned a blue steak which was medium rare, and the kitchen delivered on the second steak. We did not enjoy the overly breaded kalamari, however they compensated the dish. Bread was tough. Brussel sprouts somewhat burnt but edible, and the fingerling potatoes a little undercooked and waxy. Quite average food, very good service. Would not return for the food.
Very good!!
Came for dinner with my boyfriend for an anniversary. The place was empty (expected for a Tuesday anywhere downtown, really) so we were seated and served right away. We got the Camembert, chicken with gnocchi and a steak with mash potatoes. The food was okay. The Camembert was an interesting concept, but was cold in the middle. My chicken supreme was very dry and so salty. The mash potatoes tasted like they came out of a plastic bag. For $9, they should have tasted much better than they did. The steak was perfectly cooked and the veggies on both dishes were cooked well. The drinks were good. Our server was also the bartender and he was nice, shared a couple of quick quips and jokes with us. I wasn t impressed with the state of their menus. Dog eared and ripped. Century Hospitality has the same table talkers in every one of their restaurants, which means they print thousands of them, they can throw the really beat up ones away. I sort of expect fine dining and steakhouses with high menu prices to key in on details like menus, utensil replacement, dish removal etc.
The service was great!!
Great food and great service with a group of 20 people. Very well done!!
The Lux burger is the best one I ever had. I gave 4 stars because its a little greasy but the crunch of the stake is cant be explain through words. Kudos to chef and staff...
It was a bit pricy for what we got, however it was new years eve . The food was spot on, the service was fantastic , the food came quick, and the server was always there checking in . We will be back
Food was great! Service was great! Wife and I went for NYE dinner. Twas a nice way to usher in the new year. Our server Chelsie was a delight and added to our experience as well as the hostess for the evening. Kudos to the team!
I reserved a table for New Years Eve. The food was great but super expensive. They only offered the New Years Menu and not the regular menu and it started at $100 minimum per person. This would have been fine if the atmosphere was worth the price!!! It was -32 out and we were seated very close to the door which kept getting opened by other guests. We were forced to wear our jackets the whole meal and we re freezing the entire time. When we tried to complain, the waitress and manager were quite rude. I realize it was cold and the weather was out of the restaurants control but it is up to the management to make the environment comfortable especially for the cost of the services they provide. They should have locked the door (there was another entrance) or moved the tables away from that door. Very unimpressed and will not go back!!
Best dinning experience in a long time! Mark was amazing as well as the GM Dale, great wine and food recommendations, service was phenomenal all around. Will definitely be back!
If I could give the restaurant more stars I would. The food was pure perfection. The chef worked with our dietary requests without a question. Our waiter was phenomenal, putting up with four fiery females! Love love love, will be back!
Food was great but a little pricey for what you get.
Absolutely amazing experience. Chelsea was so friendly and helpful with selections. Even the GM and Chef came by to make sure our meal was great and chat. The Steaks were DELICIOUS. Because of the amazing service we are going back on Friday for a Tomahawk. The Google star rating is way too low for what they provide! Go check it out and add your own 5 star reviews after you do so. Lets get that Google rating up!!
Pricey but well cooked and safe practices
Great place to go for happy hour if you work in the downtown area. The menu has been downsized by COVID, but the food and creative drinks are always good
We made a reservation using open table for a Valentines experience. I had very high expectations and I was excited for their Valentines for 2 dinner for $99. When we arrived I was informed that the menu option for 2 was either $400 or $600 because the restaurant didnt update their menu on open table. Dale (floor manager) compd our drinks and our appetizer, to make up for the incorrect menu options (not exactly the $300 difference but an appreciated effort) We ordered an 8oz strip loin (med rare) and the grilled salmon. Once the food arrived I cut into my steak to see it cooked to a medium level, for a steak house I was amazed it was 2 steps away from my request. They gladly took my steak and started to prepare a new steak. We tried the salmon while we were waiting, only to find it was raw. RAW SALMON, in a high end restaurant with nearly the most expensive menu in the capital city. They took the raw salmon and offered to prepare a new one, during this time the steak came out. It was cooked perfect the second time, but our romantic meal was non existent as my steak came out before the salmon was ready and my partners appetite was gone after having eaten a price of salmon before the raw discovery. To the restaurants credit, Dale compd our meal and brought us $50 in gift certificates. To be honest though I dont think I will use them. $50 doesnt go very far in a place that the smallest steak was a 6oz for $26. They will make a good gift for my nemesis though
Went here with my lady for Valentines day dinner. First of all, our server was amazing. Kudos to her. Now, unfortunately, I must discuss the food. I want to start by saying that, as a long-time member of the hospitality industry, I fully understand that we are all facing a set of unique challenges. Things have never been tougher, and I certainly know that we are all facing problems with staffing, supply issues, and so on. That being said, a place that bills itself as an upscale steakhouse simply has to go the extra mile to provide its guests with the type of experience that they are paying for. So let me break this down a bit, and discuss the good and bad: Tuna carpaccio: completely flavourless. Nothing about this appetiser was appealing. The tuna was awkwardly cut, so it was hard to eat. Sablefish: a nice piece of black cod, but no seasoning. And sorry, sautéing some cherry tomatoes along with the veg does NOT constitute a cherry tomato jus. Sirloin: undercooked (which I dont really mind, rare steak is fine with me). Completely unseasoned. Fingerling potatoes: again, not seasoned at all. Sadly, they were also old, Im guessing leftover from the night before, and bizarrely, topped with about 2 TABLESPOONS of raw garlic. Very unappealing. Asparagus spears: actually very nice, done in tempura batter, with a sriracha honey dipping sauce. Ok, so guys, I know that things may have been stressful, but unfortunately, it showed on the plate. If I may be so bold, I would suggest that all the food needs SALT and ACID. These go a long way. Unfortunately, I dont think Ill be returning any time soon.
Atmosphere. Service. Food. All top notch! So happy my wife and I went there.
A very welcoming and warm feeling there. Went there with family and the food was good quality and came quickly, and there were many choices for drinks.
One of the best large party private dining experiences I ve ever had in Edmonton. We were here for a friends birthday around 30 of us in their private dining banquet room. The banquet room table was setup in a square shape of 36 seats I think. Worked very well. The service was top notch a true fine dining experience, the knowledgeable servers did an amazing job with everything , no one was waiting long for drinks and food came out quickly. Everyone was happy, they let us bring our own speaker and play our own music also after dinner to keep the vibe going for awhile. We had a custom cake made for the birthday girl and they let us bring that also , they had candles and everything for the presentation and the servers cut it and served it for us. The underground parking here is ideal for parties in the winter where girls are wearing heels and not having to trek through snow. The drinks here are exceptionally good I had a dragonfruit mojito , and there was also wine. Lux has an extensive wine list. Dinner I had a steak , there menu is setup in a way you chose your steak and then add your sides. I had the mushrooms and Brussel sprouts with my tenderloin. The mac & cheese looked really tasty as well. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone having a small wedding dinner , birthday party , business meeting, or corporate function with 30+ guests.
Trash food trash service
My husband and I visited Lux for the first time last night and left very disappointed. The service was horrible and we expected much more for the price. We were not given an introduction to the menu, and it was not mentioned that there was feature menu for Downtown Dining Week . Our appetizers were delivered before the waiter brought serving plates or our drink. When the main course arrived, we sat for approximately 8 minutes waiting for the waiter to bring cutlery so we could actually eat. We were also given mushrooms instead of mashed potatoes, so again we had to wait before we could eat. This was rectified by the GM (I think?) who came by to provide us with cutlery and the correct side dish. After we were provided cutlery, no one came by to check on how things were tasting or if we needed anything else. At the end of the meal, there were no apologies and the waiter didn t ask how everything was. We had to ask (and wait) for a validated parking ticket which didn t work to exit the parkade. The bacon and caeser salad to start were good, but nothing spectacular. Our main dishes were fine, but were cold by the time we got to actually eat them. The steak was cooked well (though no one came to check) and the broccolini was flavourful. Overall, I would not go back or recommend Lux as the service was some of the worst we have experienced especially at such a high price point.
Right in the middle of downtown, great spot for before a game. Nice wine list and great food. Service is top notch!!
Very good food. Amazing service. Great cocktails. Nice atmosphere. Overall a wonderful experience.
Had the steak 10/10
It s been a while since I ve visited this restaurant, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it has maintained its high quality of staff and food during a recent visit. I ordered the rib eye, (medium to get more of that tasty marbling to render) and at the table we had a selection of sides. I think the food was maybe even better than I remembered! Only comment is that the interior of the restaurant hasn t changed much and it could use a bit of a refresh.
Been there, done that, not again. Extremely over priced for the quality of food ($100 for two). I ordered a 8oz striploin. It was over cooked (mentioned to waiter), way over seasoned and I honestly have had better steak sandwiches at pubs. My wifes Pan Seared Sablefish (black cod) was okay, not worth what we paid. At the end of the meal, we asked for the remaining salad and fish (two separate meals) to be packaged up to go. When we got home, we found everything had been literally dumped into a single take away box. It was like a fish salad casserole, with the fishes puree/corn sauce.... Very odd! The dining room looks a little run down, while the bar side actually looks better. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.
We went here tonight for my boyfriends birthday. There was a big group of us including 2 kids. All of our meals were delicious and had huge portions! We were able to share most of the sides with everyone at the table. We even got a free desert on the house which we weren t expecting! The staff went above and beyond and we were all very impressed with the service.
Amazing food, good service and its a very pretty place overall. I like how its a nicer place so I would dress up a bit to go.
Delicious but expensive. It would be nice if bread or sparkling water was free.
Absolutely wonderful! Food, cocktails, wine, service, fellow diners, all top notch! Cant wait til life allows me to go back and order the Eagle wine!
Quality of food, drink and service(in my opinion most importantly service) I would give this restaurant a 10/10. When your only complaint is a wobbly table they are doing very well!! Will absolutely return
Excellent service, great steaks and sides. Professional courteous ataff. Nice atmosphere.
Less than ideal multiple orders messed up or did not show at all drink orders forgot and showed up as we are leaving. For a high end steakhouse I would not recommend. Most expensive terrible service meal I ve ever had. Was an oilers game night maybe an excuse? I would try elsewhere next time.
I wanna give them a higher review because the waitresses were really nice when we were waiting for our takeout. Excellent service staff! Our Lobster Mac N Cheese was great, as was the sablefish dinner. However, my medium rare steak was overcooked and the tuna carpaccio was missing the compressed watermelon. The menu also said the peach palmer would have sliced peaches but those were missing as well. For the price point, Im not very impressed with these errors. For a meal that was almost $150, you would expect at least a properly cooked steak($40 and sides cost extra!). Would like to eat here again but the price point meant that this was only for a special occasion, and the execution was just not there.
Great restaurant, exemplary service, consistently excellent food. Noise level is low and ambience is excellent. Convenient entrance from outside or in Commerce Place that connects directly to the light rapid transit (LRT) system and by walkways to downtown shops and buildings. Good for business, smart casual, intimate meetings. There is a classic and well-appointed bar. A favorite downtown location., highly recommended.
Went here before the hockey game, found out it was tomahawk steak experience night for the special. We were not disappointed! Booking through open table was easy and convenient. Our server (Claire) helped us with our first time here. She was a joy! Explained the menu, what people commonly order, what the tap section was like, and favourite dishes. She was honest with the flavours and her service was prompt. Legit - we never had an empty glass or a dirty dish on the table more than a few seconds. The tomahawk was a whole beast. The chef brought it out to show us, and then offered to cut it up in nice portions. It was cooked perfectly! So tender and flavourful. The sides were delicious - though the Brussels sprouts were a little too salty for my liking (the two other people at my table loved them!). We also had the lobster Mac B cheese and the shrooms. The desserts were divine, the massive in-house Black Forest cake was the size of a human head - and truly delicious! This was a pricy experience, but we ll worth it. It was enough for three people to feel full and enjoy a 2 hour dining experience. Would highly recommend for a special date night before an event in the ice district (so you can walk off all you just ate on the way to the venue!).
Great food. Staff great. Manager super good. Parking great underground.
Had a 45 day dry aged steak that was to die for flavourful. My partner had the salmon which said was excellent. The service was also great.
Amazing food, and even better service! Joanne, our server was amazing. We will be back for sure?
First time back in nearly two years! The food was as fantastic as I remember and the service was even better! Had the pleasure of having Cass as our server and she was phenomenal. Definitely someone who excels in delivering a superior customer service experience!
Food was OK service was good but Ill never waste money here again
Great service, good cocktails and delicious food! Not to mention how clean and good atmosphere here is great for hangout with good friends and family.
The food was fine, nothing spectacular! Classic steakhouse food. The service was great though & good vibes.
Very good and delicious food. Was perfect
Absolutely amazing food and our server Mark made our evening even better. Must go to restaurant in downtown.
Great service. Not the best steak Ive had but pretty good.
Lovely atmosphere, great service and one of the best meals Ive had in a long time. Had an overnite stay in the city, walked from comfort inn for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. The food wasnt over cooked, spiced nicely, good portions. Will eat there again our next stay in the city for sure!
Start to finish, the night was exceptional. The service was prompt and personable, but they also gave us enough space for our group to enjoy the experience. Our glasses were always full, and our server was very attentive. Dale the manager even personally stopped by the table, which we really appreciated because he made us feel like we were royalty. I m from Calgary, but I ll be stopping by Lux next time I m in Edmonton - everything our group ordered was delicious. This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I would highly recommend it to anyone in Edmonton.
We were guests at a function and the ravioli was to die for. Great facility food and staff
I came here by myself on a business trip, and I enjoyed the experience overall. The dry aged steak was perfectly cooked. I was expecting the ribeye to be a little more tender, I think the meat could have had better marbling. The lobster mac and cheese was delicious, I would be happy if this was the only thing that I ate. The salad unfortunately was quite disappointing; the pieces of lettuce were tiny, it feels like they were chopped by a machine or out of a bag, the dressing was very standard and the croutons also seem to be out of a bag. While my server was very sweet, she was also a little inexperienced (felt like she didnt quite know what to say to me some times, especially when describing the menu).
This was definitely one of my most memorable cuisine experiences ive ever had the steak has officially enterd top four of my life. The service was flawless , steak was perfect, cocktails tasted as if they were made in a kitchen. Im salivating just thinking about it. The Ambiance of the place is nice jazz in the back round very nice decor spacious. I really had a lovely time but the food was like well beyond good I ordered a ribeye with bluecheese crust and I swear they resurrected michealangalo and turned him into a chef because I was eating art this steak was a masterpiece ther entire experience has made me look at alberta differently new found respect for gods country ive always thought alberta beef was overrated now I can see one must no were to find it its not overrated , cant wait to try the rest of the menu just high end everything I loved it and gave lux my first 5 star I would have given them 10 stars anyways this is a must visit!!!!! o yea tenderloin was orderd by my buddy he was kind enough to let me have just a sliver, this is what dinner with zues must be like it was concentrated beefy flavourful like magic axross pallet ive never tasted beef of this caliber its shameful I didnt really know beef has a range of beefiness based on aging Wwwooooooowwwww!!!!!!!! So its like trying a steak with a more robust flavour profile yea like I said if poetry were edible it would be a lux tenderloin !!!!!!!!!! Cocktails are extraordinary the dessert could rival the best Italian baked goods like this place is a must visit .
The food was good and the service was great.
A great experience. Great service. The meat was really perfectly cooked. Everything was good until the cheese cake!!
I went to this establishment a few weeks ago and it is definitely the only 5 star experience I had this year. Everything was there was great and the washroom was clean. This review is only for the restaurant area as I wasnt in the bar area at all. Service - shoutout to Forrest(I think thats how I think his name is spelled) for providing immaculate service. He explained the details to my main dish twice because the first time was off camera lol. He provided excellent service and if he hasnt been there for years then hes already perfected the craft of service. Filled water constantly and always came to check in on us. Atmosphere - I wont have a category for this every time but for this place, I have mention that everything had a pleasant and relaxed feeling to it. From the gorgeous decor, to the jazz playing in the background while you enjoy your meal. Much nicer than the majority of places Ive been to. Drinks - some on the best cocktails I had in the city. As soon as you taste one, you know it didnt come from a tap. Very nice to look at as well. Cant say I had too many drinks that were as consistently good as these. Food - the appetizers were just that. They were tasty but not enough to make you feel bloated and too full, I feel as thought they hit the perfect balance of not too much and not too little. I got the featured steak as my main dish and I will never regret it. It did come out undercooked at first but the good man Forrest noticed it right away, took it back to the kitchen and came back with the steak cooked to perfection. The side to this perfect dish was lobster mac and cheese and it was amazing. Not sure where they got good tasting lobster in this city but kudos. The dessert was a spin on a black forest cake and it was massive. Had to split it with my cousin because no 1 person can eat that. Definitely the best black forest cake I ever had though, the cherry infused icing was a wild idea and it was perfectly executed. Overall - great food, great service, great drinks, the best atmosphere. I would recommend this place to someone trying to take their partner out to a lovely date spot or a place to have a superb meal while trying to chat 1 on 1. But a large group might ruin the feel of the place. Pricing seems relatively standard for most highend steakhouses so I wont mention it more than this. Come try this place out, I cant recommend it enough.
Value for food not the greatest. Overall value just completely not it. Restaurant has potential but just needs better quality food and definitely better pricing.
Great service and fun drinks. Our go to place after work.
Very nice set up, the food is very much over rated. 60 for 6oz tenderlion, with lobster mac & cheese, 2 small pieces of carrot.
Absolutely delicious food. A little pricey, but worth it.
We had a phenomenal experience. Our server was very helpful, guided us through the menu and kept an eye on the time to get us out to the game on time. Striploins were perfect and the sides were excellent. Highly recommend!
First time there the ppl was grate the food was awesome.
Overpriced for the amount of food and the quality and value is not the same as it used to be before Covid. Got the lobster Mac and cheese which had a runny sauce and lacked flavour and the 9oz surf and turf which was the smaller 9oz I ve ever seen. Will definitely not be going there again - there are tons of other steakhouses with way better value for money.
Attended a gathering in the private room last night. Service was spectacular and food was on point. Bonus that the room had doors that closed and a fireplace to warm it up. I highly recommend Lux for a larger group event. They do it well!!!
Well, we attended Lux on a datenight in the city. The menu looked very exciting, and we were eager to enjoy our dinner. The atmosphere, design and comfort level inside the Restaurant was excellent. However, thats where the satisfaction ended. Long story short, the kitchen brutally overcooked $100 worth of beautiful beef into well done dog food. After waiting an hour for our meal, we couldnt spare anymore time for a second chance. The manger swiftly removed the meals from the bill. Our server was very friendly, but i wasnt impressed with my wine order being substituted with a more expensive brand due to unavailability........at the higher price. Overall, would not return.
Eat here after the transportation conference right up the street. Food, drinks and service was excellent.
My steak was good, Our server was super friendly! :) Desert was a decadent slice of Black Forest cake. Sadly no, it was plain choc birthday cake with pink colored cream frosting, no cherries, no BF toppings, nothing black forest about it, missed the mark totally. Hmm Food
With chilled, romantic vibes and prices that aren t necessarily going to empty your wallet on a special night out, LUX STEAKHOUSE re-open after 19 months is reason enough for a visit. Savoury, tender and everything you d expect from a cut of meat, a slab of steak here won t go unfinished, and the sides only give them that extra edge. Our favorite is lobster mac&cheese flavourful and delicious! Highly recommended.
We joined friends for dinner recently and cannot say enough good things about our experience at LUX. The greeting at the front door was warm and welcoming, and our server was excellent ... attentive without hovering. Our dinners were cooked to perfection and I am still dreaming about the Crispy Brussels ... Best. Side. Ever!!! So happy that LUX has reopened!!
So disappointed with our recent visit to LUX. Let me start off by saying LUX was our go to Steak House for special occasions. We were thrilled to see it finally opened up after it was shut down for so long. We went for dinner and they were sold out of two appetizers we had asked for. We got the bread and butter and for a lack of better word it was very blah. Butter was cold just smothered in oil with no taste at all. Our steaks were sub par. The only good thing about the whole dinner was the mac and cheese as the side. We wont be back and have been telling our friends not to return. We paid over $200 for this meal which was the most disappointing part. Save your money and go else where.
Ill preface this by saying this wasnt our first choice but I was excited to try as its been a while since Ive been here. I had the salmon and it was just ok. The accompanying quinoa was rather bland, the entire dish could have used a bit more flavour. Additionally, the serving size was disappointing for the price. Perhaps the steaks are better.
This place is expensive!!! The meal is horrible . They forced tips on you. We waited for the food for an hour. Pool service! Just dont waist your time.
Food is next to none and staff is friendly. Atmosphere is great
It maybe price but to me it was worth it ... Cant wait to visit again
Had a great evening. Thank you Brittany for the amazing service!
The food did not meet my expectation, specially for the hefty menu price. I was expecting some Vancouver fine dining experience but working in the industry, this is Sysco quality food. Nothing from scratch. Paid $180 for two not worth it at all. I can get their steak at a chain restaurant for half the price, same quality maybe better. Oh well!
Went to Lux for our company Christmas party and I know as a vegan, my meal can be a challenge for restaurants, but Lux didnt even try. They served the vegan people the most pitiful collection of side dishes... Gross quinoa with something in it, plain cooked mushrooms, three plain carrots, and salty and oily af scalloped potatoes. For desert? Flavour-less shaved iced with thawed cherries. I honestly couldnt eat a lot of it. I cant believe for how much they charged for my dish that they put that little effort in to accommodating. You had weeks of notice to come up with something. I will never go here again.
