We created Viphalay with the hope of sharing the wonderful culture we grew up with, one that is centred around incredible food.
Every time I have gone to this place it has had a nice warm vibe to it. The staff have been friendly, inviting, and will cater to your food restrictions. To top that off the food has always tasted awesome. It has been convenient for both dining in or out. If you like Thai food and you haven't been here, I think it is worth it to try it out.
Been to this place many times, both dine in and take out. Old house so main floor is bit crowded and dark. Stairs to upper floor very narrow. Upstairs is better but usually slower to be served. Overall food is tasty for people who like Asian cuisine. Not bad for value with the price in DT.
Spicy noodles with tofu and vegetable stir fry both tasted good. The place has great ambience and service 🌸 I’m knocking off one star because all their curries and soups had a shrimp paste (which is not mentioned anywhere on the menu), making it unavailable for us vegetarians. We wouldn’t have chosen this restaurant if we had known this in the first place. Overall, a nice place that doesn’t offer lots of options for vegetarians.
This place is small but mighty! It's a long-standing, iconic restaurant that has been serving the community excellent food for years. If you're going for lunch, you better book a reservation. It fills up fast. Good portions and value for what you get. The service was solid, and my food was delicious. Unfortunately, one of the meals had a hair in it, and another was inaccurate, but both were promptly replaced.
Second time trying Viphalay, except this time it's dining in because I wanted to try and experience eating inside the restaurant and trying the food piping fresh from the kitchen. Parking can be an issue because it's located downtown, and there's only street parking where you have to pay. Food was absolutely amazing. I ordered the pad Thai, green curry with chicken and coconut rice. Everything was super flavorful and delicious! Service was good, and the food came pretty fast. Best Thai restaurant in Edmonton, hands down!
This place is a 10/10 The food is delicious, we’ll flavoured and great quality. We ordered a lot of dishes and everything we ordered was a hit. Their dessert is too good to be true, roti roll and the banana pancakes are heavenly. The service is great too and everyone there is extremely welcoming and friendly. I would highly recommend checking this place out as it’s one of the best Thai restaurants around. You will not be disappointed.
Very nice place, good service, with a standard Thai menu. The fish soup was amazing! Just homey, delicious, and perfectly balanced. The rest of our meal was good, but felt a little whitewashed: especially the use of chicken breast rather than more varied and more flavourful cuts of chicken. Not my favourite in Edmonton, but still pretty good!
Very impressed by the flavour of the dishes. I come here often for both lunch and dinner and the quality has never dropped. Such a hidden gem in downtown! I love the coconut soup! The staff welcomes us nicely and seats us quickly! This is such a good place for a date or even a work dinner! You will want to try everything on the menu!
Just had lunch here for the first time. Had to be one of the best meals I ve had in a very long time. Absolutely delicious!
Good food good portion
Best Lao Thai restaurant in the City , very authentic.
Great thai restaurant. Green curry, pad thai, orange cashew chicken and roti are favourites in our family
Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian options! Food
Very bad customer service. Expected more from them
Best Thai food in the city - the green curry is
Incredible food and service. I come for the lunch special all the time and each special is equally amazing!!
The papaya salad was delicious. Pictured is the brown curry with fish and orange cashew chicken. Everything had great flavours! Cant wait to go back and try other things they have!
Good food, but the customer service was terrible. The guy said we re closing so start licking your ice cream or else we ll make you do all our work. It wasn t funny like that because we haven t been making jokes with him and he kinda said it out of the blue. Then he left the cheque for us to divide among ourselves.
Food is good and staff is friendly. I was looking for good Pad Thai, which we dont have in Calgary. They gave us sweet sticky rice roti and was really good. I would definitely comeback when im in edmonton.
Some of the best Thai food Ive had in Canada and I have been to Thailand. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and helpful should you have any questions about any dishes. Food was quick and delicious. The special appetizer of Shrimp in red wine sauce is devine. Food
An Edmonton staple when it comes to Thai food. You know restaurants adapted from homes are always the best. You would call it a hole in the wall if it wasnt so famous. Pad Thai is great, so far all the curries Ive tried are great. Lunch meat deals every day. About $20 for any lunch there. I love the brown curry. Vegetarian options: All curries can be served with tofu or veg.
Fabulous food. One of the best kept secrets in Edmonton.
I ordered Tom yum soup and a bunch of stuff from here. Pad Thai etc. 100+ dollars of food. 1) there was a hair in my soup. Absolutely disgusting. 2) how do you not supply forks, spoons, napkins for a big order like this? Instead of CHEAPING out on supplying cutlery I would practise you give some with your orders and wear hair nets. Will never be back.
Viphalay is an absolute gem, and I cant rave enough about their incredible food and welcoming atmosphere. Their Drunken Noodles dish is hands down the best in the city. The perfect blend of flavors and textures makes every bite an absolute delight. Its a must-try for anyone visiting Viphalay!
Food was awful
My new favourite spot! The yellow curry with chicken and coconut rice is addictive. I find myself craving it at least once a week.
Beautiful ambience, feels cozy and elegant at the same time. The food reminds me of home. Great Thai food
Food is delicious and the waiters are always smiling and are extremely welcoming
Delicious meal with just the right amount of spice. Server was friendly and fun. Paid for Street parking. Went as part of a large group and had the whole upstairs to ourselves.
As a Thai food lover, I had to find a great place to visit, as an out of towner. We started off with Thai samosas, which is not to be confused with Indian samosas. It s much thinner and packed full of flavours. We ordered a pad Thai, fish curry and coconut rice. Everything was so delicious, so flavourful. Service was excellent. Definitely visit again when I go to Edmonton!!!
I had the green chicken curry and it was delicious! I cant wait to try more of the menu! The orange cashew chicken is so good!
I had a really good experience here! I m celiac and they have lots of gluten free options which they pointed out. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was good! Best pad Thai I ve ever tasted. The salad rolls were delicious along with the peanut sauce! Very impressed and I will be back!
Fantastic Thai food - highly recommend the green curry and red Thai shrimp!
Ive been frequenting this restaurant for 17yrs. Family run business and they have stayed one of my favourite restaurants in the city! Always an amazing meal and fantastic service. Gaeng kiew wan (green curry) is my favourite and super authentic.
I love your food. Hours suck, also closed on Sundays when our large family group gets together for dine out. Why not be open on Sundays and choose a Tuesday or something to close, Like other asian restaurants do.
Food was delicious and the staff was excellent
Such good food. My favourite is the yellow curry
Absolutely horrible service! Server was incredibly rude. Wont be back. Will take my business elsewhere. Id give 0 stars if I could.
Good food, good service good prices..
Continues to be outstanding. Make sure you order the fried roti dessert!
Viphalay is a local legend for a reason. The most delicious food with warm and friendly service. Extremely consistent for the near decade that weve been visiting and ordering from here too. Theyre great with food allergies. You really need to try the yellow curry.
Large portions and fresh dishes
Really terrific food!
My favourite Thai restaurant in the city! Their pad Thai is sooooo good. Everyone that works there is such a delight as well. Love this place, if I could give it higher than 5 starts I would!! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free + Dairy Free
I love this place more than anything, the veg stirfry with tofu is absurdly good. Amazing variety of vegetables and delicious sauce OMG. I am so lucky to live close by!
Oh my gosh... the food... so delicious... The Red Wine Shrimp... to die for... staff Christmas party... I think we were able to sample half or more of the menu... all...ALL... to rave reviews. So highly recommended.
For some reason this place blows my socks off every time. You cant go wrong with this place.
Love the daily lunch specials especially the basil chicken on Fridays that come with rice and two small spring rolls. Another favorite is the drunken noodles! Prices are fair in my opinion given the cost of supplies and food these days.
I ordered the green curry, but not sure what was delivered. The food tested awful and overpriced too.
Love the pad Thai & green curry here. Delicious
Whenever I m craving Laos or Thai food but don t want to make it at home this is my goto place. So delicious!
$25 for a single serving of Pad Thai is excessive especially when it was bland and shy on chicken and prawns. The vegetarian spring rolls (at $15 for an order) were close to inedible. They appear to be bulk ordered and not made in house. The dipping sauce was not classic Thai but instead simply Chili sauce from a bottle. I won t order from here again and I m suggesting you don t either.
Food was good, but based on the price and portion since not worth it imo.
Love this place! They are incredibly friendly and the food is delicious. I moved to BC and I have to stop in everytime I visit Edmonton! Food : 5/5
Been a patron of Viphalays for over 20yrs havent been in about 6yrs and was better then ever!!! Great amazing food and the best service in town!! Always great!!!
The best restaurant in Edmonton.
Excellent food and friendly staff.
The overall experience of the food and service is impeccable! I love the restaurants that are in houses they feel so homey and cute! This is definitely my go to place and would recommend!
Amazing Pad Thai & Panang
Love this place. Great food, staff, and service.
Great food, like to try more dishes.
I was extremely disappointed with the bad services and foods here. The restaurant owner lied it about being authentic Thai. Then lied and change the ethnic to Loas instead. The mom, female owner was previously stolen the foods, receip from the previous loyal owner that trusted her. She stole the recipe after scamming the previous restaurant owner. The restaurant speaks for itself. The review is correct, not a appeal restaurant exterior condition or inside either. The price is too expensive for a bad tasting, small portion. The food tasted gross too. I believe the previous review that the google reviews (5) is not true and accurate. Parking: As review not a stabilization, dangerous exterior health restrictions
Before the pandemic, this was one of my absolute favorite Thai places. Unfortunately, when I was finally able to return, the dishes seemed like they were much less homemade and more ready-made. Having said that, the flavors were still good, although a little too sweet for my liking. The servers were very friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes ingredients for my dietary needs, and we didnt have any wait when we arrived to be seated. So, overall, it was a pleasant enough experience for a working lunch, but I probably will not be clambering for another reservation. Dietary restrictions: I was able to ask and receive adequate information to ensure I could confidentiality eat here without getting sick. (Gluten, dairy, and egg)
Probably my new favorite YEG restaurant. The flavor was FIRE, the atmosphere and staff were amazing and the drinks got the job done made me want to go to Laos lol (PS get the coconut rice and thank me later)
5/5 taste of drunken noodle and panag curry. Good service. Fast service. Atmosphere very good too. Price is fair. Would go back!
Lovely food good price
The best tom yum ever. I mean Ever!!
The food wS amazing, service was excellent. This was an experience that most definitely needs to be repeated.
Tuesday, the 20th June 2023 @ 20:45pm as I typed this review. My wife and I just returned from your restaurant. According to the server we re late but we were not late because we came before 7:30pm. The service was terrible on our table. Once the food was delivered there was no follow up on the how the food was or what we need. But the servers were all over other tables because they belong to a particular race/colour. It seemed like entertaining a certain group was their priority. I still tipped them more than 20% because I know what tips meant for a hospitality workers, including myself. My only advice is that please be professional in what you do irrespective of colour and race and keep your ratings high.
Food was amazing! Best Penang I have every had. So good, I came back a second time. The staff were also super friendly and accommodating to dietary requirements. Dietary restrictions: Staff were very good at ensuring food was gluten-free.
I cant say that I really liked tom yum soup here, but the atmosphere was good
2022: Service didnt feel very inviting. Presentation of food could use some refining. They also didnt ask us our preferred spice level, which I thought wouldve been nice, seeing how other Thai restaurants generally inquire about before taking orders. Their glass noodle salad tasted too acidic - Ill go to Boualoung if Im craving this again. Probably wont return. 2023: Since my last review, quality of food and service has not changed sadly. We opted for Viphalay as a favourite restaurant of ours was closed. Their Laos Papaya Salad was hurtful to look at. I know they did not beat it in a mortar + pestle, but rather just took the shreds and drenched it with fish sauce. Portion was also baffling for $15. Come on, dont play with your patrons like that. Some of us are quite aware of how dishes are supposed to be prepared. Also, the servers we had were just monotonous and didnt seem happy to be there...This was later to be expressed in the food. Matsamun had too strong of a cinnamon profile and the potatoes tasted off. Everything was just ok, except for the Pad Thai - this tasted wonderful. Im sure Viphalay had its prime but that fire is slowly dwindling it seems. The inconsistent quality of food and service compared to their earlier years is a tell sign of this. Hope they can bring that experience back.
Delicious tastefully and perfect blend of spice Its flourful and not spicy Amazing friendly staff Food : 5/5
We placed an order for delivery and the restaurant missed our salad rolls. When I called them the man I spoke to refused to send them, refused to give me a refund and argued with me. Insisting I should come pick them up. Would not send with Uber or taxi. Very rude and unacceptable behaviour. Won t be back. Food
Amazing experience with some very unique Thai foods on their menu. Personal favorite is the drunken noodles if you enjoy spicy, or their coconut soup if you want refreshing non-spicy broth. Servers were very accommodating and kind. There is just a couple of (free) parking spots in front as it is downtown so you may need to find a parking lot close by. Its worth it! Parking: About 2 spots in the front but it can be hard to get them. There is plenty of paid parking downtown.
We have got takeaway from here several times. Hands-down the best Thai we ve ever had. Very generous portion sizes, delicious food, and well priced. Thank you!
Everything was Awesome, food, servers and place. Going back soon!
Great food,, cool atmosphere, tucked away in downtown edmonton!! Highly recommend!
The best Thai restaurant in the city hands down.
Food is always delicious!
went here for an anniversary lunch with my lovely bf, he had been here before and loved it so he thought he should bring me! the building has two floors of seating, very nice decor, and great staff. I ordered the wednesday lunch special of orange cashew chicken which came with two spring rolls, and my bf got the green curry. they came out in a great time, they had good portions for what you were paying for, and tasted delicious. I have no complaints about this place, I had a wonderful time and I will be back.
I just ordered food in. The red Thai curry is unbelievable! Highly recommend with the coconut rice. This will be a new staple order. So delicious!
Too casual for evening dining. Place settings were pitiful to say the least, for evening dining. No cutlery except for a fork. Server did not even offer such. No nicely printed menu. Only a Xerox printout which has been wet many moons ago. Covid virus propagation? There was a QR code pasted to the table to access the menu meaning by phone which is not appropriate for the price of the dishes, which were on the high side. Food was not much different to the Chinese food except for the noodle dishes, which contained coconut milk I presume. The dish did not list that there would be shrimp in it, which my son is allergic to. Tin cups for water is not hygienic. Poor service where there was no welcome and introduction by the server, who took some time to get to us despite the place was not busy. Bottom line: not a place for evening dining although the price of dishes are indicative such. Not much different to Chinese food.
The best Thai restaurant In Edmonton! Very professional and must eat at!
I recently dined at this Thai restaurant and had an amazing experience! Their vegan spicy noodle dish is an absolute delight. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the spice level was just right for my taste. I appreciate that they offer such a flavorful vegan option, and its definitely one of the best Ive tried. The service was excellent, and the ambiance added to the overall enjoyment of the meal. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Thai cuisine.
Delicious! Great view
Tuesday lunch special, spicy beef. Quick service and delicious food.
Amazing place for a great lunch! Curry was perfect (green and red) and we were in and out in 45 minutes!
pad thai is a big win!!
The coconut soup and coconut rice are the best! Will be back because this restaurant is close to my home
All kind of soup. Was awesome. I wish theyd offer smaller portion for appetizers
Average food this time otherwise I love the place Vegetarian options: Prepared as you tell, skip the items you dont want in your meal Food : 4/5 |
The best food ever!
Always great food at Viphalay. I love their Drunken Noodles. Service is fast. Food is hot and so tasty.
The Red Wine Shrimp is out of this world
Ive been coming here for years and have never had anything but fabulous food. Great service!
Had to leave the restaurant before ordering, after seeing the waitresss thumb in the water pitcher contacting to the water! The Pitcher has a handle to carry, dont understand why to hold it like that? If you guys serving food need to pay attention to these details, It didn t feel hygienic!
Food is unreal customer service and atmosphere could use some refining. Closes very early so if you want to make an evening of it go early!
Amazing authentic and delicious food. Our host Dew was very friendly and made our experience so great! Would recommend to anyone visiting Edmonton
Ordered takeout pad thai and was very disappointed. Some great reviews on here but unfortunately our food was bland and flavorless, some noodles were even dry without sauce. Must have caught them on a bad night.
Time for an upgrade. I ve gone past this place for years, always noticing how full it seemed, always wanting to try it, unfortunately never getting around to it. Finally, last week we were able to dine in. We came in around open hoping to beat the crowds, another table sat politely in a corner and us in another across from them. The lights were blaring, though even more invasive now that it gets dark out at 4pm. Not only were the lights blaring but so was a random television playing the sports network. Not the typical Thai aesthetics I m used to. Now with the lights as bright as they were I was able to see absolutely every imperfection. From the thickening dust collecting on the window drapes and lights, to the spattered and paint chipped walls. With all the staff on, I would have assumed some were available for cleaning as there were only two tables of two sat. A faint, very randomized playlist played in the background but was heavily muted by the constant dinging of the online orders coming in and telephone constantly ringing. (I must also mention that the volume was cranked on the online ordering system, which I understand that you don t want your staff to miss, but this was excessive, have one staff member assigned to both the online order system and telephone and lower the volume of each). Now, combine all of these elements together and you get a rather poor, uninviting and confused atmosphere. The service was nice, however it was only average and not exceeding. We ordered multiple dishes, the signature dish being the Red Wine Shrimp which I would recommend, while the other dishes were just average and lacking in excitement. Overall I was disappointed in the experience, as I think this place has the capacity to do so much better.
Had the daily lunch special with Massaman (brown) curry and asked for super spicy. The brown curry tasted much sweeter than a yellow or red curry and had peanuts as well. Definitely one of my favourite curries in the city!
The restaurant was full of people even during the weekday lunch time. The food was the best! What a service!
Great food, from the pad thai to the curry. Dont miss out on the purple rice and ice cream for dessert!
One of Edmonton s best hidden spots! The food is a 10/10, the staff have been there a long time and are great, and the spot is quaint. If you re not going to have dinner here, you re missing out!
Friendly service, good prices and excellent portions. Never left feeling hungry. Great little place if youre looking for food downtown that is a bit out of the way. Not a huge amount of places to sit so it probably wouldnt hurt to phone ahead some days.
Excellent!
Good place, good experience. Will be back. Nice little find. Good quality food
Food is delicious and ambience is good as well.
Ive frequented Viphalay so many times over the years. The food is always absolutely delicious and reasonably priced, with the best coconut rice in the city, imo. The service was not the greatest the last time I was there (really curt server), but it has been ok all other times. I recommend this venue and cant wait to go back!
Amazing food always and the serving staff AMAZING!!!
Always great food. Also a good choice for people with gluten allergies.
It has been too long since I ve eaten here, and it still is the same amazing curry I remember. I m going to return again soon for sure
Amazing food, so flavorful and fresh! Thoroughly enjoyed, quaint restaurant with great character.
This is a favourite spot for our work lunches. We are able to order, enjoy lunch and get back to the office in a timely manner, even when the restaurant is busy. I recommend making a reservation and multiple visits to try everything on the menu. The curries and drunken noodles never disappoint.
Green curry + drunken noods. Name a better duo
Seriously the best Thai restaurant in the city. 10/10 incredible every single time. So thankful to work close to this gem now! I crave it!
Delicious food, excellent service! First time having Thai food and server explained to us all the options! Excellent food and service!!
Very accommodating with regards to menu changes aka no peanut options
Very nice place!! Delecious food!! Excellent service! Will be back again :)
Awesome food. Amazing flavor. All temperatures are true to the menu. Great service! We cant wait to go back :)
Overall (Food & Service) experience was great, however, there is one downside I picked the appetizers plater food quality isn t great compared to the price.
Flavours were very good. The hells beef was really dry and tough. I would not order it again. The green curry was great. The service wasnt terrible but, theres certainly room for improvement.
Very good food Very good service They very nice...thank you guys
Some of the most authentic Thai food you can get in Edmonton. Love the Penang! Wish it was on the lunch menu!
My family has been going here for years on special occasions. The food is absolutely amazing, some of the best I ve ever had. Staff is friendly and great. Can t wait to come again.
Great little eatery. Went for the first time today. 1. Cute outdoor patio 2. Cozy interior 3. Not super big for large parties 4. Ordered salmon curry and pad Thai. Noodles were so soft Salmon curry had great blend of sweet, spicy and umami. Coconut rice was nice and fluffy. 5. Quick wait times. 6. Friendly staff 7. Wait time for food was only about 10 mins 8. Wait time at door was about 2 mins. 9. Did not check bathrooms. 10. Good overall atmosphere
This lady kept coming 25 times asking if I need anything. Yes, just vanish. Then I was brought a check right after the last spoon. And if I need anything. Let me digest, the place is half empty, such a silly people just ran me out and did not let me order some deserts by creating this tense environment by asking if I need anything , hers the check but no rush . Idiots
Food is amazing
My son and I come here when we can. Excellent green and red curry. Great service too. A hidden gem.
Food was great, was awkward when dishes came out at different times.
Food is good and the staff is friendly. Love the papaya salad there.
Fantastic local shop for authentic Laotian/southeast Asian food; fresh and full of unique flavours. Takeout and delivery options also are flexible.
Great food every visit. Theres a great variety to pick from! Wasnt sick of it after visiting three times in two weeks. Looking forward to my next visit.
This is a charming and cozy restaurant in downtown Edmonton. Easy to park the car on the street. I more enjoyed the ambiance and the beautiful house turning to this restaurant. They offer vegan food as well. Friendly staff! Vegetarian options: Vegan / plant based
One star is the for the food. Gave me wrong information, said that the curry comes with the spring roll and didn t give it to me. And then change it to your meal does not come with the spring roll, there s nothing we can do about it Attitude is bad, horrible customer service.
Great flavors and authentic taste! One of our favorite places for Thai food in the city. They do a great job on the spice level as requested.
Yummy food! Would definitely return!
Owners of restaurant greeted my family as we entered. This is a spectacular underrated restaurant. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a different type of meal with a group of friends or family. Or if you would like to impress someone on a first date, this will hopefully show how cultured you are and hopefully you will get lucky.
Ordered a curry that was not inexpensive but came with carrots and peas that looked like they had been poured right out of the freezer bag and were cut nothing like vegetables served with any other dishes uploaded by recent diners. Tasted fine but for the price the peas and carrots should have been fresh. Theyre not expensive vegetables.
The Thai red curry was some of the tastiest Ive had despite the peas and carrots that felt like they were from a frozen packet. Otherwise the curry was a great pairing with the coconut rice.
Amazing food! I was there with my colleagues. Two of them have been to this restaurant before, so they recommended this place to us. I was torn between the Pad-Thai and the daily special, which was a spicy chicken dish with rice and spring rolls. Ultimately, I decided to go with the daily special, and I was not disappointed. We also had salad rolls and a dessert roti. All food were amazing! The staffs were very friendly and efficient. This is a small place, and can be very busy at times. I would recommend to call them to reserve table before you go there. But, if you like Thai food, you have to go there :-D
I really enjoy there delicious food. The service is great and o always enjoy eating there. I recommend to anyone in the area
Got my order delivered thru Uber Eats. The laos salad was meh and had little serving. The pat kra pao didn t taste right, basil weren t seen and tasted that much just spicy and greasy.
Great food. Its a staple lunch stop for our office.
I liked it a lot, especially the yellow tofu curry.
Love this family owned business. Food is amazing and the staff are exceptional people.
The gal that took our order was super friendly even though we came right as the kitchen was closing. Great service and amazing food!
Recommend Green Curry with Chicken and some Coconut Rice
Small family restaurant thats been a long-time staple for Edmonton Thai food. The neighborhood loves them for a good reason!
If I could give the food here a 10/5 stars I would! These folks make incredibly thoughtful food, that is delicious and consistent every time. I cannot recommend their food enough! The salad rolls are amazing, and we are always impressed!
Food was incredible, the service was great too. The green curry was outstanding and the papaya salad portion was very generous. Great experience, I ll definitely be back soon!
Best drunken noodles I have ever had. We keep coming back again and again for the great food and kind staff.
Delicious food. Four different dishes shared between 4 adults who are not particularly big eaters (except for me) with not a scrap leftover. Slightly larger portions would have created a 5 star review. Will order more next time.
Such good food. This was my first time eating in the restaurant but we have ordered from here many times. One of my favourite places in the city!
Amazing food have come here for years always a great experience best food in all edmoton nicest people work and own it will always keep coming back and prices are great ....so happy everytime food quality is superb.....the very best ...... 10/10...
Never had a curry meal with that crazy good of a flavour that didnt either melt my face off or come flying out the back end, but Viphalay was top notch and obviously made with nothing but the best ingredients!
Amazing food and service! Highly recommend!
Favorite restaurant for work lunches
This place has amazing food, always the perfect spice level. The staff is awesome, and it is family run. Definitely get the lychee basil mojitos.
Best spicy noodle must try
Amazing food and service!
I heard this place was 10/10 and they were not lying. The pad thai, the coconut martini and the service. Wow.
Excellent food, excellent service ,but very noisy.
Best Thai food in town... Most of the standards, but a few things Ive never seen elsewhere. Laotian specialties. Great service, cozy house restaurant well kept up. Try the red wine shrimp and save room for dessert!
Delicious Dinner..excellent service .
Amazing food, location and atmosphere
Fantastic taste and presentation. Highly recommend this restaurant for Thai food lovers.
Lovely patio. Delicious!
Delicious! Excellent service, wonderful green curry. Ill be back!
Spicey Beef Stir Fry is the best
Honestly my fav Pad Thai in town. Their dessert rotti rolls is also very good and a must try. My boyfriend tried the Hells beef and he said it s really good (and spicy). We ll be back for sure.
Pad Thai + drunken noods, name a more iconic duo.
I love this place. Ive only had the takeout version. Smaller portions and a bit expensive but SO GOOD. Every bite is delicious. The vegetables are always so fresh and crisp, the noodles are coated in spicy deliciousness. The coconut rice is to die for--light yet dense with coconutty flavour. My only complaint, tis small, sometimes the meat is a bit dry. But I still always enjoy my food immensely.
Always a must go to place in Edmonton, great food, service and vibe!!!
I would previously have rated this restaurant as a five star restaurant, however, although their food is amazing I am disappointed in their portion sizes which have reduced significantly over the last year despite the prices staying the same. Delicious food, cannot complain about that!
Oh I m in love with food
The staff are always amazing (Dew ) as is the food! Love the green curry and pad Thai...the pork spring rolls are fresh. Love this place!
This place has the best pad Thai in town! I went to different places here and try their pad Thai but its not even close, I even try to imitate it...lol So good!!!
Love the curry and drunken noodles! So awesome!
Very good food and service!
Good
Their food is delightfully consistent. We ve been going here for years and have never had a bad experience. Everything is so flavourful and priced fairly.
We tried viphalay for the first time last night. Oh wow! We had yellow curry and drunken noodles and they were the best we have ever had. The vegetables were all cooked to perfection, the flavour profile was perfectly spicy, sweet and fragrant. The gentleman who helped us was very enthusiastic and kind. We cant wait to come back and try more dishes. Delicious!
