9449 Jasper Ave, Edmonton, AB T5H 3T8, Canada
friendly and calming plantiful cafe serving nutritious and delicious plant-based food and drinks made in-house using whole foods and high quality products.
Came here on a whim for a late brunch and can definitely say I was super impressed with the serene vibe of the restaurant, the patient and friendly staff, and also the delicious crab cake benny! The matcha was heavenly too! I’ll definitely be back.
The food here is Amazing! All vegan all gooood. The service was super friendly and helpful. Can't wait to try more one day when I'm in town :) The crab cake benedict was insane as well as the banana cream pie and the coffee chocolate chip cookies were out of this world. ThankYou!
Our server Amna was great. Wasn't sure about The Moth Cafe but ventured out on a 15 min walk from our hotel at the Sandman and it was worth the steps! The ambiance is very hipster cool with nice lighting and a bohemian feel to things. The menu isn't overwhelming and the food is fantastic. We had breakfast and paired the meals with mushroom lattes and mochas. Worth the upgrade! All in all a delicious place to eat and they even have a good craft beer menu for later in the day. Gotta try that vegan Big Mac burger next time.
We decided to be adventurous and try vegan food for the first time and boy did The Moth Cafe set the bar high! Love the aesthetics inside. I had the purple yam risotto and it was top notch (came back a second time just for this!) The moth burger tasted like a traditional burger, good but not super special. Mello yellow latte was perfect as was the matcha maca latte. We also had the chai medicinal tea which was good but definitely prefer the lattes! 10/10 would recommend this cute cafe.
I was visiting Edmonton for a week back in August and stopped in a few times while I was there. The food here is absolutely amazing! The staff were awesome and I loved the whole atmosphere. We tried several dishes during our trip and loved every one of them. Both the purple yam risotto and the tiramisu stood out as the best, I definitely recommend trying them both. Vegan or not, this restaurant is a must try!
My friend showed me this spot and tbh, based off the location I thought I was in for something bad. But the food was great! I love the entire menu is vegan so I didn’t have to worry about removing anything from my dish. It also tasted great! My friend, who is not vegetarian, really enjoyed his food too! Which says a lot. Our server who although took a while to come back and check on us, was still really nice!! Will come again
This is a small and cozy place. The food is clean vegan dishes. The menu is small and you may feel underwhelmed by the options. What they do make, they make very well, colorfully, and beautifully. If you just want to just feel good about what you’re eating, come here and give it a shot. It’s not bland food by any means. The waitress was very nice, no problems with service.
This place is easily my all time favorite restaurant in allllllll of Edmonton! Truth be told, I’m disappointed in myself for not leaving a review sooner - as I’ve been coming here for the last five years now since moving back to the city. Absolutely every single thing on the menu here is DELICIOUS! I’ve yet to have an experience that falls even remotely close to anything but. The interior is simply gorgeous as well! Staff are always super duper friendly & overall the atmosphere is incredible. Can’t recommend The Moth enough - you will not be disappointed in the slightest! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Interesting, aesthetic little spot with fantastic vegan dishes. Service was super slow, but isn t always.
Love the food!
First time there!! Like the atmosphere and the food!! Vegan must go!!
The Moth NEVER disappoints. Love this place so much.
Wonderful place for a quick bite, I had a slice of berry cheesecake (made from cashew milk) my boyfriend had the moth burger & enjoyed it, he had a house ale and I had a cup of tea.
OK,
A lovely and warm environment. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The space itself is very calm and the food and coffee is amazing and beautifully served. Highly recommend.
I had the worst experience at this restaurant! Not only did they mess up my order completely, but the staff was rude when I pointed it out. I ordered two moth burgers but they served me 2 moth spaghetti . When I tried to get it fixed, they acted like it was my fault and didn t even apologize! The food that finally arrived was cold and tasteless. Save your time and money and avoid this place at all costs. They clearly don t care about their customers or getting orders right! Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. They clearly have no regard for their customers or for getting orders right.
Don t recommend only because of terrible customer service.. please make sure next time listen carefully and double check the order. Instead of being rude, try to maintain a positive attitude. A simple apology can go a long way in preventing things from going wrong.
A gem for anyone looking for good food and great atmosphere.
Best vegan restaurant!!!!
Cute vegan restaurant serving a mix of comfort food, all-day breakfast, and Asian-inspired dishes. Generous portions, fresh ingredients, tasty food. I loved the vermicelli bowl. You MUST get the tiramisu for dessert! Bright, airy, and welcoming atmosphere with an abundance of hanging plants and large windows letting in lots of natural sunlight. Small outdoor dining area. Friendly and fast service. Reasonable prices. Ill definitely be coming back! Vegetarian options: All vegan Dietary restrictions: Nut-free and gluten-free options are labelled on the menu
Went here for lunch today, my bf had the Moth Burger & loved it, I had a slice of the berry cheese cake & it was delicious.
Great ambiance, friendly staff, excellent coffee and medicinal tea.
I love coming here!! Im not a vegan or vegetarian, but the food they serve is fantastic, I cant tell a difference in terms of the flavour. Though they change the menu now and then, it always tastes delicious. I highly recommend it! The inside is great for taking pictures.
Great new addition to Edmontons dining scene
Super tasty!!
Place look sketchy from the outside but aesthetically pleasing on the inside. Servers were friendly and the restaurant was clean. Food was okay except for the micro greens garnish that tasted like mud, would not recommend that
Great vegan food!
Im not a vegan but ate here with a vegan friend. I had the moth burger which was surprisingly tasty. Very fancy selection of cocktails as well. Vegans will like this place much more than most obviously, but Id say almost anyone could find an enjoyable dish to fill themselves up.
Cute Cafe that served a wonderful Tiramisu.
The food was fresh and delicious, service was great, loved the atmosphere.
Very yum. Even non vegans will like it. Lots of gluten free options
Food was delicious! Service was great! Definitely recommend!
The Moth and Cafe Mosaics are awesome. Their service and food is 10/10 and are always trying new things and changing the menu up. You are all amazing, thank you so much!
Its nice to go to a place that is all vegan so I dont have to ask a million questions about what in the food the way I do at omni restaurants. However, some items are pretty bland. I did not enjoy the burger at all. The pad thai was okay but not authentic. The mushroom and chips were okay but too greasy. Ive been there twice but dont think Ill be going back. Vegetarian options: All vegan Dietary restrictions: All vegan
Fantastic spot, big and open, amazing food, friendly servers. I really enjoyed the summer tacos.
Loved the atmosphere. I ordered a chai latte but felt like it didnt have much chai flavor. The risotto was delicious and crab cake was bit smaller on portion the dish but not bad
I was looking for vegan food in Edmonton and stumbled across the moth cafe. Wow what a vibe! I love the decor, and the space overall. My meal was very good, I would definitely return. I dined in and my only comment is that I would have liked to have my water refilled. They also said they would bring me a box so I could take half of my meal to go, but they never brought it. I had my own water so the above didn t detract from the food and dining experience. Vegetarian options: They are known for amazing vegan and vegetarian options.
Um, can I say wow?! This was a stumble upon thanks to another cafe being closed and can I say, I m absolutely obsessed. We got the winter salad and pad thai, and I had to e Vietnamese iced coffee. Chefs kiss! The pad thai was pretty spicy and full of flavour! The salad- hear me out, I never order salad at restaurants- but this was the best freaking salad I ve ever eaten. The oranges made it pop with freshness and the gyoza was such a fun pocket of flavour. The iced coffee was divine! 5/5 review, and we will be back.
We will be back to try other dishes. Everything we ordered was great. They were short staffed, but Rewa still did a great job ensuring we had a good experience.
The banana cream pie is fantastic, dont miss it! I dont think Ive ever had a bad dish here. Vegetarian options: All vegan restaurant
I had the omelette and it was amazing!!
Nice atmosphere with a pleasant service. The food is delicious Food
A super cute place with quite a few options! Lots of different drinks to choose from as well :) I suggest going here if you re vegetarian or vegan. Also the portions are really big, you could get away with getting one dish and sharing.
My first time here turned out with REALLY good experience! Food was delicious, awesome and friendly staff and of course and the atmosphere was too vibey because fresh flowers are something incredible, this place is 1 minute from my house, so I will come here more often!
Very cute place! Great decor! Friendly and helpful staff! Delicious food! Vegan and dairy free. Lots of gluten free options. Vegetarian options: Yes! Dietary restrictions: Gluten, dairy, meat, and nut free options Wheelchair accessibility: Everything on one level and bathrooms accessible. Small curb cutout ramp to get up on the sidewalk.
My friend and I stopped in on a whim and Im so glad we did! She ordered the curry and I ordered the lemongrass bowl. Both were absolutely fantastic. We also appreciated the friendly service and welcoming atmosphere. Cant wait to come back!
Other than getting stung by a wasp (inside restaurant no less - it sure hurt but at least I m not allergic!) it s a nice place with friendly service. I had the Chips N Shrooms. Pricey but the battered mushrooms were good. Unfortunately I did not like the fries. They were soft - not crisp at all. They either need to be cooked longer or cut smaller or both. So definitely not worth anywhere near the price paid.
Great vegan cafe. I had a mushroom omelette and mocha. It was excellent. Parking can be little tight depending on the time. Excellence place. Will come back.
Fantastic food and ambience. Love the plants, wood, and artistic touches. They have done wonders with vegan food. Excellent place to soak up the vibe and enjoy a great meal.
Service was not happening today. No other customers and we had to wave to give our order and they didnt come back until we went to get our own water. Food seemed to have chillies spilled in it, it was wayyyy too hot! Tried to inform waitress but she didnt believe us. Dont recommend this spot if youre going for food and service. When I was trying to tell the waitress she just cut me off and told me to tap very angrily and told me they never change the food so I was mistaken? Wicked. Dont waste your evening out here.
SO glad I stumbled across this place on the way to the museum. One of the best meals Ive had since being in Canada. Wonderful service and just generally great vibes. Wish I was here longer so I could come back!
One of my favorite spots in Edmonton.
What a treat! The flavours, texture and colour of this dish Lemon Grass Vermicelli was absolutely delicious Most was hidden underneath. Come check it out. You won t be disappointed even if you are a meat eater.
We love the atmosphere and the plant based esthetics of this cafe. The menu is a bit limited and the prices are a little spendy but the flavors are fresh and tasty. A shared vegan desert is worth the visit
Latte was okay, but I was not impressed by the staff. I dont think I have ever been to a cafe where the barista couldnt have even bothered to smile at a paying customer. Your job is literally to make coffee and be nice to guests, and you could only fulfill one of those two simple obligations. They werent outright rude(hence the two stars instead of one), but nevertheless it is unacceptable to not even reciprocate basic pleasant human behavior and then proceed to ask for a 15% tip. I have never felt the need to write a negative review before this experience, and have debated whether or not it was even worth it since I was not outrightly disrespected, but I did not feel particularly welcome and I can honestly say Ive never felt that way in a cafe before, and that if this behavior goes unaddressed itll simply continue indefinitely. This was my very first visit and its unlikely I will ever return.
Cute place. Yummy food.
Great vegan food. Visit almost weekly.
I have been to this place three times, and I even brought my friends along. They liked it too. The environment is great, with excellent services
We were there first thing when it was opened and I couldn t believe how many tables were dirty and not cleaned :( The food was Good and thankful to have found a clean table .
Had the queen mimosa which was good. Loved all the plants.
I love the moth and the food is great but this time service was really bad and the mushrooms in the risotto were very salty. We felt rushed and were not asked how the food was. We wanted dessert but we were told that we had to take it to go because they were gonna close in 5 minutes, even tho there were other 5 tables in the restaurants. People stayed way past 9 and we had to eat dessert in our car. Kinda ruined our date night.
The only reason I m not giving this place a 5 star is because today was the first time in all the times that I visited that I had a Terrible experience. I ordered my favourite dish as I always do, I took a few bites and felt something unusual in my mouth. I pulled it out and it was a huge/hard chunk of plastic that hurt my teeth and gums. I showed the server and they happily replaced my meal. What threw me off tho, is that they didn t even offer to take the meal off my bill or offer anything else for my experience until I complained that my teeth hurting. The server said I ll speak to the manager and see what they can do. They gave me 50% off my bill. Look I don t care about the money, it s just the principle of customer service. I have PTSD now when I ate my second meal today as take out thinking there was plastic in my food again. I could have choked and the situation could have been way worse. Owners of moth cafe, I really love your spot but please work on your customer service.
Food is amazing and delicious! Staff is friendly. Atmosphere is chill. Will definitely come back.
The Moth Cafe with its sister Cafe Mosaic on the south side of Edmonton continue to serve excellent cuisine - Moths menu is totally plant based and likely the only one of its kind in the city. Turmeric tea with macadamia milk presented so elegantly was absolutely yummy in both taste and nutrition. Jackfruit crab cake benny with coconut cream served with fries or salad is one of my favourite. The ambience is wonderful with lots of green plants including, a thriving banana tree which one day will bear fruit. Plant based diet is highly recommended to decrease carbon foot print and the Moth is definitely making a difference and grateful for all that they do.. Dietary restrictions: Vegan strictly Parking: Parking is not plentiful but there are limited number of spots available Kid-friendliness: As far as I know kids allowed in with adults Wheelchair accessibility: Door from outside opens straight into cafe and accessible
The food is good & the atmosphere is very nice, BUT the service is so bad, it was not busy and it took forever to get food ordered or to get a coffee. Once we could get a server s attention they were short and not very nice, which really sucks because the food is good and the atmosphere is very nice.
The omelette and the latte was amazinggggg. I would definitely come here again.
The food was great but the service was poor they definitely need to hire more servers. If you get your order in right away other wise you will be waiting a while for the server to come back
Friendly staff and amazing food! Loved the decor and would definitely come back again for brunch
Food is excellent but windows cracked and place is freezing. They dont seem to get even when half the tables keep coats on to eat. Vegetarian options: Awesome vegetarian options just to cold to sit comfortable
I came to the Moth Cafe a while back and tried their Purple Yam Risotto with 2 pieces of Jackfruit Crab Cake and Chocolate Mousse. The Jackfruit Crab Cake is definitely worth trying. The Purple Yam Risotto was really good as well where the rice (cooked with the sauce), shiitake mushrooms, purple yam, and brussels sprouts stood out the most. The chocolate mousse was quite rich. Overall, I d rate my experience a 8.5/10
Hidden gem! The parking is free, but is very limited when the two restaurants in the area are busy. Cozy atmosphere. Beautiful decor. Service is amazing every time! I have tried quite a few of their other dishes before. Chips n Shrooms and Pad Thai were good, but not items I would personally re-order. The 5 star dishes for me are the Moth Spaghetti and Crab Cake Benny; both are so delicious! Highly recommend for all to try out the different dishes at this restaurant.
A restaurant that is a bright spot in Edmonton. Beautiful airy space with delicious plant based food and drink. Love seeing people embrace this place and all the happy people inside. Kudos to the family who runs this place.
Very beautiful ambience and wonderful food. Chips and shrooms are the best! Vegetarian options: Fully vegan place Food : 5/5 |
The food is amazing. Highly recommend!
I love the restaurant vibes however the server was super quiet and hard to understand even after we asked her to speak up. And the food was really disappointing they need more on hand options for nut free. I get it s vegan but there should be options to make food more accessible.
My wife makes me drive here whenever we visit Edmonton for the amazing vegan cheesecake. Some of the menu items are quite overpriced for what you get but it s clean fun plant-based food!
It was my birthday! The food was great and the company awesome!!
A delicious meal to end the stay in Edmonton. The key lime cheese cake was incredibly tasty!
Amazing! Service, ambiance, and food. Full marks! Well done Moth!!
Had the Laksa and it was very light and yummy. Definitely not like a traditional laksa with rich flavour and colour but very good.
Its Lavender Tea is my all time favorite. It is so soothing and food there- particularly winter and chickpea salad are too good. Though it is a little expensive but the aura is amazing with a French vibe and food is just too good. The staff is also oh so beautiful and friendly. This is my all time favorite place.
The owner is an arrogant person who does not care about the environment
Beautiful cozy vibe with lots of greenery. The plant-based vegan food was delicious. I had the crab cake benny and my partner had the omelette. Honestly, both dishes were on a whole other level and the matcha maca moringa latte warmed my soul!!! Definitely recommend 10/10!! What a special experience. Thanks so much!
First time at this incredible, beautiful restaurant. The food was super delicious, colorful and plentiful portions. The restaurant had a lot of character and incredibly inviting. Chai tea with almond was absolutely delicious and the pecan squares (made in house) was the best Ive ever tasted and absolutely a must!
Ive been here many times and the food is always fresh & delicious! Service always is amazing. Ive tried every item on the menu and theyre all amazing.
HOLY SMOKES
What a lovely gem in Edmonton! This cafe has delicious, plant-based food and ever better beverages! I tried the peppermint lucid lavender tea and it was amazing!! Highly recommend.
Amazing amazing amazing!! That omelette was the best I ve ever had and breakfast is my favourite food! And I stole a nibble of my nephews pancake which were ! Highly recommend!
Ive been meaning to go in and check this place out, but the name intimidates me. In any case, as a plant-based café, I suppose they would not put moths in their food...
An amazing place. We went on an afternoon on Saturday, but surprisingly there wasn t a lot of people. The thing I like most is how the whole place is lit up by natural sunlight, it just makes everything looks so pretty. They have lots of seat. The decorations are awesome, its a whole vibe. Its the perfect place whether you need to study, brunch, or hanging out with friends. About the drink, I ordered the lavender earl grey and it exceeds my expectation. I am honesty not a huge fan of flower flavor drink, but this one just hit the spot. If you like lavender, definitely go for this one. I chose to have coconut milk which I think is a great combination. The milk foam, the taste, the decor everything is just on point. The price is pretty good too. The staffs are really nice and friendly too. Definitely going back some day, and next time I want to try their food
Excellent customer service fabulous food. My gfs of 40+ years met for dinner to catch up and celebrate a birthday milestone and not once did the staff make us feel rushed to leave! Definitely will be back!
a little bit of a vibe tax, but the food and drink are good. Had the mushroom coffee, Viet coffee, laksa, and Benny. The mushroom coffee with oat milk, delicious, and Im still buzzing 2 hours later. Tasted the Viet coffee, nice and strong (cashew condensed milk was not as sweet as I expected but that was a welcome surprise). Laksa was mild, and contents more on the crunchy side. I added some vegan mutton for some chew (a little pricey imo, $3 add-on for 3 tablespoon sized pieces) otherwise it would have been mostly veggie crunch which is not bad, but feeling just a little like a salad in the soup. Great if youre looking for a good veggie and broth dish. I enjoyed that the brussel sprouts and mushrooms worked so well in the soup, best part of it imo. A basic rice noodle in there, a little on the soft side, so nothing to write home about for the noodle. Crab cake Benny was pretty nice. The soft tofu with the eggy consistency, and a nice crisp to the crab cake portion. Other than ingredients, nothing I would write home about either. Nothing disappointing in the Benny, but it didnt blow my mind either. Presentation of food was a great. Taste was better on the drinks than the food imo, but I wouldnt be critical since it is a cafe after all. Vibe is very nice when its not full and busy. Good sunlight, and pleasant decor :)
I sadly must retract my original 5-star review as they have changed the menu and all the good menu items are gone.
This is a very 2020s restaurant. If you want vegan dining in, this is a great place, the food is almost worth the price - the restrictions hold it back: gluten free, no dairy. Everything is soy heavy, but very vegan. Dietary restrictions: If you are allergic to soy the entire menu is off the table
Best gin and tonic Ive ever tried
Good food, beautiful ambiance, and amazing experience
Even though the place was pretty empty there was practically no service throughout the meal so you get one shot to order what you want when they come or you will need to get up and find someone to make an additional request. Both my friend and I felt sick immedietly after eating here.
The moth cafe was a lovely place with ver cute and eclectic decor. I was in absolute adoration of the interior of the place. I got their crab cake benny and it tasted really great. Their coffee was great too. My choice of milk is typically Oat and it is a hit or miss most of the times, but this coffee was outstanding. I also got their banana pie for dessert. I was concerned that it would be too sweet. However, they definitely balanced it out really well. Overall, I loved the food, the service and the experience of this place.
This place is so cute and the food is so good
The food here is divine! I m not vegan but I really enjoy coming here for a fresh and tasty meal. I do need to explore the menu a bit more but the Pho is top notch. I do also come for the amazing tea. Staff is very pleasant and the vibe is amazing. Nice after a long work day!
Had banh mi with broth. So tasty. Also had macadamia nut chai. Yummy. Will be back Kid-friendliness: Has high chairs
We stopped by for brunch and were truly blown away! Not only was the service wonderful, but the food was wholesome and left us feeling so satisfied! Our favs were the Crab Cake Benny and the Pho :) We had the Carrot Cupcake for dessert that was the perfect amount of sweet and a nice conclusion to a phenomenal meal!
I m not vegan, but this restaurant is still one of my favourite restaurants in all of Edmonton. I started with the jackfruit Benny and worked my way through the menu over the years, and every single dish I had was incredible. The ingredients are fresh and the flavour of the food is delicious. Service has always been good, and the restaurant is clean. As a big foodie and lover of trying different restaurants, this is one out of two of my favourite restaurants in Edmonton.
Beautiful café, and but after making it explicitly clear to the staff that I would like a dish with no spice/heat, I received a dish that was extremely spicy. The staff did not cover the cost of the dish, and were unwilling to cover the cost of another meal. Customer service was disappointing.
Great cafe with so many unique options. I found the dishes a bit underwhelming in terms of taste, but amazing presentation. Great for my vegan friend, its nice to have so many dishes to choose from.
Came for a business lunch as my client is vegan so we let him suggest the restaurant. It was my first time here but my wife has been here and recommended the place to me. I ordered there Hearty Kho and Clarity tea. To add some context to this review, Im Vietnamese so I know what Bo Kho should taste like. To say that I was blown away from their vegan version is an understatement. It was absolutely delicious! I immediately wanted to come back and try other dishes but havent had the chance to do so yet. The tea was average but for me its all about the depth of the flavor they were able to achieve WITHOUT using beef. I highly recommend this place for their food items.
Had chai tea (awesome) and pancakes. It tasted really good just not what im used to. The atmosphere was wonderful
Great vegan food, pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff.
I went for a quick bite for lunch with my boyfriend and the food was absolutely delectable!!! We got the vermicelli and it was some of the best vermicelli I ve had!! Everything s vegan and just as delicious. The service was great and everything was quick and fresh. A must if you re downtown Edmonton!
You wont believe its plant-based. The lemongrass vermicelli was delicious and the fruit Berry pancakes looked spectacular. Definitely going to come back here again with other plant-based friends.
Their ramen is so craveable, its like I have an power meter that slowly gets depleted and only their ramen will fill it back up. I order nothing else! Wheelchair accessibility: Flat restaurant including bathrooms of a reasonable size.
The Best plant-based restaurant in Edmonton ! Vegetarian options: 100% Plant-based restaurant Food : 5/5 |
It was vibing..
Omelette was horrible like eating a sponge. Kitchen wouldnt take it back. New waitress was helpful but old waitress refused service.
This restaurant is absolutely amazing in all ways. Get the brown rice purple Yam Shitake mushroom dish phenomenal. I adore this place
Such a cute little gem! Came for lunch and had the chips n shrooms and a lavender latte. The lavender latte was next level, highly recommend! The shrooms were good, it was just a lot of fried food. The atmosphere was great and servers were so friendly. Would love to come again!
Wow, enjoyed the food . Great character, and interesting people dining there. So good for my wife that is vegan and I vegetarian, we want to find tasty dishes that we have not tried before, and we did.
The fries are excellent! I enjoyed the jackfruit crab-cake benny. Friends enjoyed the spaghetti and the vermicelli and Vietnamese coffee. Imaginative menu. Good service.
New menu bit thats not posted on line. So if you want something make sure you call first.
Nice options and variety for those who do not normally eat plant based diets. Really nice strong drip coffee. My 5 year old loved the vegan burger and my 9 year old loved the pancakes and taters. Food : 4/5
The Moth has been a longstanding go to for vegetarian experiences in Edmonton. Many still dont know about this haunt over on Jasper and 95 Street. Its a bit off the beaten path but its worth it. There arent too many high quality creative vegetarian offerings in YEG and this is probably close to the top. Granted, Edmontons vegetarian scene is not nearly where Vancouvers is at. But the Moth does a commendable job. The space is spacious. Lots of plants and light. They also have a small patio available for sunny days. And the service is always friendly and helpful. 4 x
The service was great, the atmosphere cozy and clean, the food was fantastic! On the pricier side, but worth it. One of the best exclusively vegan restaurants!
Great place for our anniversary celebration
Omg food, environment, staff, price- perfect, perfect, perfect nd perfect I went there couple of weeks back with family, I am surprised that even my parents loved it so much. They got varietys of food to choose from. Added to my fvrt list of restaurants. I am so happy being a vegetarian, I can enjoy everything here. Thanku so much for ur best services in the city I wish you guys could stay open little longer. Vegetarian options: Its all vegan so everything on the menu is delicious for a vegetarian person. Kid-friendliness: Its wide open so kids can have their little space too
Cute little shop, I enjoyed there shrooms and chips, I enjoyed the plants growing in the celling making everything feeling cozyer
This is an honest review. We had high hopes for this place but after we finished, we were all pretty dissapointed with the food. We had the Chips and Shrooms. The idea is fantastic! The dish served wasnt good at all. It was all batter, greasy and had very little mushrooms for the main course. For the price, it wasnt worth it. During the meal, those who had the Chips and Shrooms all said we felt gross grom the grease. Another family member had the burger. The bun was very dense and dry. It tasted burnt. It wasnt a pleasant dish. We are all huge fans of vegan food but this restaurant/visit really didnt live up to the hype. We also drove in from out of town to try this so that made it that much more dissapointing.
The vermicelli bowl and the burger were good, but the three people in our party that had the mushroom fish and chips said they were tasty but really, really greasy.
The crab cakes Benny and the spring rolls are so amazing! Wow l definitely coming back. Would definitely recommend their food!
Great vegan food. Serving dinner. Closes at 4pm?
The spaghetti is delicious
This place is great! They have amazing food and drinks. I also love the atmosphere. So many plants and big windows with lots of natural light. The service has always been perfect every time I visit!
Amazing vegan restaurant to visit. Their menu rotates and it is always good. Parking: Its a chaotic parking lot where you can pretty much park anywhere. Food : 5/5 |
We are not vegans or vegetarians for that matter, but we decided to try something different, and we were not disappointed! The atmosphere, food, and service were second to none. I loved every mouthful of my Pad Thai, and the burger was delicious, too. We are definitely going to make this one of our go-to restaurants. The desserts were delicious but a little too healthy for me... but that meant more for my husband, and he was not complaining.
This is some of the best vegan food Ive ever had. Everything was flavorful and delicious. The staff were kind and non interactive of the meal. The meals themselves were very filling, with my mother needing to order a takeout container for her food. The drinks were tasty. Everything looks very good at the restaurant from the food, to the beverages, and especially the indoors of the building itself. The only thing I recommend is to bring your own takeout containers and they do charge a dollar for takeout containers there. The wait time is around 10 to 30 minutes for the food.
It was such an awesome place. I dont normally eat vegan foods. But I would have to say it was really good
Just an awesome place to have a great meal at!
Had the Omlet and Pancakes with a friend. Fluffiest pancakes ever. Omelet was full of veggies and topped with sprouts. The dip/sauce was pretty good. Came back for pie later in the day. All three flavors are delicious. Food
Though I am learning to embrace plant based nourishment, its not something I generally actively seek. When it was suggested I try The Moth Cafe with a friend who tends towards healthy, conscious and purposeful eating, I was intrigued. Starting with a chai latte with macadamia milk, I was instantly in love. Spying two pieces of shimmery golden pumpkin pie in the display case upon entering, I quickly ordered dessert first, wanting to see if the taste matched the amazing vibrant colour. Alas, they had been spoken for in the few minutes it took to seat us and bring our coffees. Hehe... She told us next time to order ahead as it sells out fast. I ordered Pad Thai with extra spice and the Banana Cream Pie to start, and my friend chose the Fried Mushrooms and Chips and Cheesecake with Mango and Raspberry Drizzle. The Pad Thai was the best Ive ever tasted, meatless or not; I have a new favourite dish in the #YEG. And the Banana Cream Pie was better than my Aunts (but please dont tell her) Whether youre a practiced vegan or have just had enough Costco chicken and pork for one lifetime, and want to give your body a break, PLEASE try The Moth Cafe: You will not be disappointed. I also like that it felt we were sitting in a scene from a Harry Potter flick... some back alley, hidden from Muggles. Thank you for loving karmically sound food and wholistic health Moth Cafe and sharing your gifts with us. xoxo
I havent been to The Moth in quite some time. I was a little disappointed that some of my favorites were no longer on the menu. Over all the food was wonderful
Beautiful cafe and delicious food
Beautiful food, cant wait to go back
The experience was terrible as a whole. The service was extremely lack luster, having to ask 3+ times for something as simple as salt while my food was getting cold. At the end of the experience I had a gift card purchased from the restaurant itself that was almost refused. If I didnt understand the law and the penalties involved for such shady business practices the card would have been refused. I would never recommend a business with this attitude.
WOW!! Was not expecting the food to be so good. Definitely going back. Probably to try the lemongrass vermicelli or the laksa soup (those were enjoyed by friends). I had the spaghetti, which is a good dish, easy to make ordinary but they made exceptional. The pumpkin pie, hard to believe its vegan. The best part was the service: truly makes this restaurant warm and welcoming, a lovely place to gather. Thank you, Moth café, for making our time there so memorable
Just went here for a double date and it was really good. Definitely will go back.
sat for 10 min, made eye contact with the barista 5 times. only 1 other table in the entire place. ended up walking out. first time there and will never return. awful service
I found myself vastly unimpressed by the $11 cost of a piece of untouched cake, which my server suggested as a replacement for an unavailable item. To my disappointment, the cake contained flavors I would have avoided had she provided all the relevant information.
Always amazing food and service! The coconut laksa was slightly spicy which made it flavorful. We enjoyed the shrooms and chips although I thought it was a bit expensive ($24) for the fact that it was fried oyster mushrooms and fries! The banana cream pie is the BEST pie ive ever had. SOOO delicious. I would come just for the pie.
Amazing, as usual. Came for late lunch with a friend, had the red curry and purple risotto with the raw bagel . Mushroom Mocha and match drink. Everything came out perfectly, servers are always so nice and the atmosphere is so good for catching up with friends or family. Im coming back soon for the spaghetti Parking: Shared lot with restaurant next door, Ive always been able to find a spot
Without a doubt my favourite vegan restaurant. The atmosphere is amazing - it looks like a magical fairy fantasy. The dishes are hearty yet well thought out in terms or taste and portion size. This location is creative and captivating all at once. Ordered chick pea red curry and purple yam risotto.
Hey guys the last 3 times I ve been in the baked goods have been awful. Very dried out and disappointing.
I loved this little gem. The food was SO delicious and I will be back! As a celiac its nice to find places that offer good gluten free options.
Its okay to spend an afternoon with your friend here, but dont have high expectations! The atmosphere is good, except the awful smell coming from the toilets!!
The Moth is always delicious, I come here often and the vibes are always great. I think some dishes are a bit overpriced for what they are, which is my only con of this place. I would eat here every day if I could, every dish is curated with so much flavour
Not bad considering Im an omnivore.
Really nice food and drinks ! Well worth trying. Service was far too slow for my liking even though the restaurant was only half full. Also a very long time to finally get the bill.
Warm environment with welcoming servers. The food is stunning with many new and surprising flavours. Totally suggested and we will definitely get back!
Charming place. Delicious food and friendly staff. We split 2 Mains and had leftovers to take home. Ordered the Purple Yam Risotto w/ Salted Caramelized Shitake, which was very flavourful and nicely plated. Also the GF Chips N Shrooms. Also had Guava Kombucha and the Stranger than Fiction beer. Will come back to try the other dishes.
The Mushroom Mocha is so good.
5 Stars for food 3 stars for desserts One of the best Vegan restaurants I ve been to. Innovative and creative menus. Loved the ambiance and decor, with lush plants and cool vibes. Welcoming atmosphere. The food is unique fresh delicious and extremely interesting. The crab cakes benny was sublime. Made with jackfruit and tofu, it s a clever dish. They didn t try to recreate an egg, that s why I loved it. The moth cafe took a regular benny and turned it into an exotic vegan vegetarian dish. The purple yam risotto was yet another outstanding dish. Creative and light and tasty. Good textures and balance of flavours. Fantastic food. The tiramisu however let us down in comparison to its savoury counterparts. Dense and dry, lacking flavour and tasted stale. They have kombucha on tap, with lovely refreshing flavours. Would 500% recommend this restaurant for its wonderful food but maybe not for tiramisu. Great vegan restaurant in Edmonton !
My wife and I typically love coming to the moth, but most recently some of the price increases have been unjustifiable. $10 for an iced chai is absurd!
Perfect watering hole for anyone vegan/ gluten free! They have lots of options. Always enjoy my meal here!
Love the food, love the aesthetics. All round great place just in a weird location lol but will definitely be coming back
Theses folks know how to make a burger. I had their version of a Big Mac . Oh my! Soooo good. Their food is fantastic!
Great espressos. Bathrooms are super clean. Highly recommended this joint.
Its been a delight to return to a favorite and introduce a dear friend to your food and service! Delicious, filling and delightful! Thank you for always being such a treat to visit!
The jackfruit crab cakes are unreal!
The BEST vegan food I have ever had! I unfortunately forgot our servers name but she knew a lot about the food and drinks and made a great recommendation! The pothos plants and ambient music make this cafe an IMMACULATE vibe.
One of the best vegan restaurant that exist! Visiting often since I ve moved in Edmonton! It s tasty, trust me and try the banana pie! Enjoy
Honestly not sure what happened to this place. We went on a weekend and they were extremely short staffed. I m talking 4 people total including waiters. We waited over an hour for our food which was cold. Our hot drinks came luke warm. The place itself was extremely cold like pretty much the same as outside. Not only did my table ask for the heat to be turned up inside but others too and we were told it was as high as it could go. I used to be a huge fan of this place and won t be back again. Very unfortunate since there s only so many vegan restaurants in Edmonton.
Great atmosphere, I had the spaghetti. The meatballs were good and not too meaty. I got a cupcake for dessert and it was dry and tasted frozen, it was even cold in the middle. For $6 Id expect a fresh cupcake, not frozen. Service was good. Fries were good. A bit expensive, even for a vegan restaurant. Vegetarian options: As far as I know everything was vegetarian Dietary restrictions: Vegan Parking: Theres a parking lot with free parking Kid-friendliness: They had high chairs, not much on the menu that isnt spicy though so not much for kids to eat
First time there so didnt know what to expect. Ordered coffee but they didnt have regular creme. So I ordered a black tea with sugar but they didnt have the tea I wanted. Its a vegan restaurant and not a olace for me. It was nice and the staff was super friendly. Just NOT my cup of tea.(No pun intended) Parking: Lots of parking. Kid-friendliness: We had our grandson with us and it wasnt an issue.
Myself and a friend enjoyed a fantastic meal before heading to the Citadel! It was our first time there but we will go again so many great options to try! Nice clean, cozy atmosphere. Excellent service! Dietary restrictions: No dairy is fantastic Parking: Since they have another restaurant next door parking could be tight but good spaces and across the street.
One of my must stop restaurants in Edmonton. Some of the best vegan options Ive ever had! The atmosphere is relaxing; Youll feel at ease here no matter how busy it gets. One of the few restaurants I consider perfect.
I really like coming to this vegan cafe because the food is delicious and I love the cozy atmosphere. A little pricey but totally worth it!
They made us wait, standing by the door for around half an hour. They asked us for payment up front and then they served patron after patron after us, ignoring us. My friend and I felt openly discriminated against. We wanted to leave, badly, but they had already taken our money. We felt trapped. We stood there staring at the two pieces of pie we bought for half an hour just for them to box it sloppily. They kept saying just another minute and then serving someone who came after us. We only wanted two pieces of premade pie to go. I see why you ask for money up front. Not worth the price for the wait or two pieces of pie. We will never come back again nor will we recommend this establishment to anyone else.
Love this place!! Edmonton has so many great vegan restaurants but this is one of the best! Delicious chai lattes, kombucha, and soda options, and the portion sizes are very generous. We got the burrito and the omelette to share and both were delicious. The omelette was even better than I expected. Best spot for vegan brunch!
Been to the Moth twice and both visits were great. I love the food and Im not vegan. We enjoyed the atmosphere as well - its casual and spacious inside. In the summer they have a small outdoor patio type space which I havent used but it looked cool. The parking lot seems small but Ive met people there and none of us had any trouble getting a parking spot.
The atmosphere is so nice, the food has this as a must stop on any trip to Edmonton. The fish and chips is unbelievable, the eggs benny and burrito are also amazing. Vegetarian options: Its a vegan restaurant Dietary restrictions: Waitress was attentive to intolerance
Food is so delicious, so many creative dishes. I m celiac and they have TONS of gluten free vegan food. is it vegan done how it s supposed to be, whole whole fresh foods yummy foods. Not tons and tons of crazy ingredients. So simple yet fantastic. Slightly expensive but worth it for the food and atmosphere. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
Amazing
The food is great!
I bought the Chickpea red curry, Moth burger and Crab cake all to go. The Omelette I had in-house. The food was delicious and enjoyable for everyone considering it does not have any meat.
