One of our favourite restaurants throughout the years and since it’s been opened. You can’t go wrong with anything you order here, as everything is perfectly executed. But the agnolotti is swoon-worthy and a MUST. Food is fresh, simple with few quality ingredients yet yielding complex and elevated flavours. Ambience is casual but sophisticated. Service is attentive, fun, and knowledgeable.

5 stars but service is hit or miss in my history! Book a reservation. Do not just walk in. It will be highly likely you will not get a seat, even at the bar. Recommend looking at the menu before hand to decipher the dishes. The menu doesn’t read in self explanatory terms in the sense that it is very Italian. Not a bad thing but can be overwhelming never been there before. Check the photos in google reviews and Instagram to give you an idea of dishes and how they are presented. Once the ordering is out of the way sit and relax. Enjoy the cocktail or glass of wine by candlelight as you wait for eats. It takes a little while but that’s part of the experience. What can be frustrating from time to time is the service. With the understanding of how crazy busy this place is most of the time I let it slide. Most servers will take note of wait times on food and provide you with a status update without being asked. Unfortunately during my latest experience the couple sat next to me at the bar after I was seated put their drink order in before us. Got the drinks before us. Then even ordered before us which resulted in them getting some food before us. I feel like there’s just not enough staff maybe considering the high demand for service in an environment in which you’re paying a premium for the entire dining experience. Just have patience. That’s what I’d suggest dining here for the first time or 10th time haha Overall will come back. Will book a reservation. Will bring friends! Will eat all the fonduta agnolotti, sage butter and parmigiano ! Aka the little pillows of happiness lol

Very surprised to see this gem so far from Italy, but that felt so Italian. Very simple unsophisticated food, but really well prepared. Beautiful fennel salad. Only recommendation: bring the music down a bit.

Bar Bricco is my go to spot for wine. It has a beautiful dimly lit ambience for that cozy feel and the food is phenomenal to go with their large selection of curated wines. Many accompaniments like their cured meats make for a fine pairing. Definitely recommend their agnolotti as well. If you are looking for a relaxing night out, there is not place better than this.

This is, in my opinion, the standout of Chef Daniel Costa's restaurants. They excel in pasta, crostini and everything else! The venue is dark and sultry - make sure if you want a low table you specify that in advance. Service is always impeccable and friendly, and the servers are knowledgeable on food and drink pairings. I also love that this place is just as lovely for a casual date night as for a major event.

My co-worker and I went to Bar Bricco, he's been here before however I haven't. I've worked at a lot of popular Italian restaurants in Toronto and have worked in Italy before. It is probably one of my favourite cuisines. I do not remember the last time I've had Italian food this fantastic. We had ordered the daily special of local charred peas, the tuna crudo, Formaggi Misto and added the proscuitto, and another order of Focaccia. - The focaccia was fantastic, had a glass shattering beautiful golden crust, the inside was super moist and light, so moist almost wet. I haven't had focaccia this tasty and just executed perfectly with great seasoning. You can tell that they make this focaccia and bread fresh daily. - The cheese tasted like it was kept out of the fridge which is how it should be, it was the perfect temperature. The balance of the black pepper and honey, the pepper jam, the expertly grilled bread (not too hard and not too soft just the perfect amount of softness and pull that is perfect to enjoy with the cheese and dip into the honey or jam) - The peas, I was not having high expectations that my co-worker wanted to order the peas however it was incredible. The little bit of char on the tips, the olive oil coating, the perfect amount of maldon on top, the texture of the peas just expertly cooked with a hint of a bite. I sadly misjudged the dish but really really enjoyed it. - The tuna crudo I wanted to order to try to understand the use of almond milk. It was quite an interesting dish, loved the texture of the tuna, the spiciness but not overly spicy. The almond milk sauce was just fantastic. It was tangy and citrusy but right before the point that it was too tangy and citrusy. - The addition of the proscuitto: the proscuitto was sliced at the ideal thickness, and expertly sliced that showed that they must maintain their slicer in the back on a daily basis and ensure it is as sharp as Samurai's Katana. I would highly highly recommend this spot. We didn't order the pastas but based on the other dishes that we had experienced tonight, I can only imagine how perfectly executed those dishes would be. The Chef here and her team not only know how to cook but to have a team that really enjoys how to execute Italian food to another level with the attention and care that not many people give it is masterful. Our server was also incredible and really knew the menu inside and out, super friendly. The team at Bar Bricco = 11/10. Would check this place out again next time I'm in Edmonton!

I was invited here by a colleague and let me tell you that this was an experience for sure. The atmosphere is cool and comfortable. We sat at the bar and had a really nice bottle of wine (so delicious), we shared the Olives in oil ( they are so big and tasty and never seen Olives like this before), Ioppa Rosato, Milk Ricotta (never had cheese like this before, so fresh) Romanesco and Agnolotti ( one the most delicate and fluffy pasta I have ever had) The service at the bar is amazing and they know when to leave you alone and enjoy your time. Finished off with a Boulevardier – If you love Old Fashioneds.. got to try this as it is a red cocktail with Italian twist on the bourbon specialty. Go here again for sure, It is a bit pricey, but the food, atmosphere and wines are top notch. They have many bottles of higher end wines and sparkling wines in a cooled trough for you to try and they love to help you with the taste you are looking for.

The atmosphere was quite intimate & cozy. The server was well versed with the food menu and wine menu- she gave excellent recommendations!! The food was bursting with tantalizing flavours. Although the plates were small, they were so well worth it. $100 for four dishes, and two delicious glasses of wine. HIGHLY recommend coming here- so happy with the experience!!

Enjoyed the truffle honey with focaccia, prosciutto, kale salad, stracci verde, and fonduta agnolotti. Super delicious but definitely on the pricier side when factoring in portion sizes. Loooved the truffle honey! Cocktails are on the bitter side. Bar Bricco itself is a great vibe, loved the lighting, but the music was definitely too loud. Left with a bit of a ringing ear and a sore throat from having to practically shout to talk with friends. Vegetarian options: Various salads!

Went here recently to celebrate a birthday, (and wasnt the payor so price wont be taken into consideration for it wasnt a cheep meal but we got a bottle of wine and a few cocktails each which will rack up the bill.) The only thing I was dissapointed by was the cocktails which ill blame on my childish and love for fruity-ness but they only have a few cocktail options and majority of them are just not for me. The food though! was fantastic and the server we got (I forgot the name sorry) was very knowlageable and came well prepared with explanations and break-downs of each dish as well as reccomemended some very good dishes which paired very well with what we already had chosen. The dish that supprised me the most was the leek salad which I havent seen many people mention in reviews but it was simple ingredient wise but shocking flavor wise... you know the ravioli is going to be great but we all left shocked and craving more of the salad and the ravioli. Highly reccomend for trying something new and delicious.

My partner and I dined in last night. And it was their first time at Bar Bricco. The food was incredible (as always) and the service was wonderful. Alek gave us great recommendations and made the experience fun and accessible. We look forward to coming back! The only heads up I would give folks is that the hightop/bar stool seats are quite uncomfortable and may not be a great choice for folks with joint issues. Everything else about the atmosphere is fabulous.

We spent over $200 on an underwhelming meal. We had the Parmesan salad which was good, but apart from that the dishes were overly salty. We were shocked to see that the crostini involved thick slabs of butter on top of a toast and when I mean thick, I m talking 8-10cm of cold butter yikes. The high tops were pretty uncomfortable and the server appeared disinterested. Would not recommend.

I have mixed feelings about Bar Bricco after dining there last night. I had decided to celebrate my birthday with my boyfriend there because I enjoyed the food the last two times I came. The quality of the food was excellent - the same as I had remembered it - and our dishes arrived very quickly. If you are a pasta, butter and cheese lover, I would highly suggest ordering the Fonduta Agnolotti and the Egg Yolk Raviolo. The service was okay. Our server asked if we had any questions about the menu and refilled our water without being asked. However, she did not seem warm or personable. The atmosphere was uncomfortable for me. Honestly, I felt like I was eating in the dark - I even had to use the flashlight from my phone to read the menu. My boyfriends voice was drowned out by the music and by the laughter of the 4 girls sitting next to us. By the time we finished our meal, my ears were ringing. I had zero desire to stay and enjoy my cocktail. We were in and out of the restaurant within an hour.

The food here is outstanding. You cannot come here without ordering the agnolotti, porchetta or the ricotta - they are definitely the most notable items on the menu. We had the meat & cheese board as well (which was still delicious!), but the other food stole the show. The only thing that I would caution about it is the seating - hard to sit for too long to really savor the experience due the extremely uncomfortable chairs. But if you can make it through the physical discomfort, the food is 10/10 worth it!

The food is Incredible, the wine is excellent, the service is terrific. It is quite dark, which isn t the best but it gives the place a certain ambiance. Overall: So so so delicious. I ate so fast I didn t have time to take photos. We ordered the Truffle Butter Crostino with Culatello, very good but perhaps a bit too much butter for me. Second was the Fonduta Agnolotti which is a MUST try. The pasta was so soft and melts in your mouth when combined with the sage butter and grana padano. Third was the Pappardelle which was our favourite, almost didn t even want to share this one. For dessert we had the Panna Cotta, perfectly balanced bitter and sweet and the perfect size for 2 people. For drinks we had the Carnevale. I like my aperol spritz pretty strong so I was hoping for a bit more flavour but nothing to complain about. They had a strawberry Bellini on special which, if you have the chance, you have to try. Probably the best drink I have ever had. Atmosphere wise, we were in the small dining area in the back. Seats are nicely separated so it stays quiet. Very romantic lighting and perfect for any kind of celebration. 10/10 would recommend! About $150 for 2 people.

Was excited that they finally opened back up so I could give this place a try. Fell short to say the least. When I bit into the truffle crostoni I thought there was cheese on it but the butter was so thick and cold that it looked like cheese. The zucchini Fritti was not what I was expecting but executed well for what they were going for. The agnoloti fonduta, unfortunately I couldnt tell you what the agnoloti was stuffed with because all I could taste was the lemon in the butter. A shame because the cheese on its own was excellent, that dish in particular needs some refinement. Now the server I had was excellent but it was very bizarre that I saw at the bar and the bar tender didnt acknowledge me a single time but was very engaging with the couple sitting beside me. My biggest disappointment was when I went to order dessert and asked for an espresso and they dont even offer espresso. If youre going to do an Italian restaurant this is a must. 3 stars because my server was pleasant and the food has vision but it felt like they were trying too hard and not hitting the nail on the head on any of it.

Went to try their new menu since we haven t been in town for awhile. The soft scrambled eggs were so rich and creamy and the crostini was perfectly toasted. Would definitely get again. The butter leaf dish was a good follow-up to that dish as the veg part of our meal. Thank goodness the agnolotti survived from the original menu because it s one of our Bar Bricco favs and is 100% a must order. We also got the Waygu beef dish which is essentially a beef tartare. The beef itself was good with a noticeable but not overwhelming delicious saltiness which I m assuming is the bagna cauda. What I didn t love was its pairing with endives as the main vessel for the tartare. Yes, it held the Waygu and yes the endives were as crispy as endives go, but we would ve liked it better with something that offers a firm crunch. Get it, but order crostinis on the side. Ended off with a chocolate truffle which I always look forward to, especially with a good red. Overall, happy with our dinner (and love the fact they take resos now).

This is still one of our favorite places to dine. The food is amazing and the service always great. Their new menu is great but still features the old favorites too. The fonduta agnolotti is still mind blowing and the beef carne cruda (tartare) was absolutely insanely good. Best I ve ever had. The charred tomato crustino was surprisingly so delicious (and spicy!) and the truffle butter! Ohhh so good. Music is a touch loud but it s the vibe I suppose they are going for. It s dark, but not too dark and the candlelight on the tables is more than enough to see and read menus. The extra space after the Reno s consists of 3 lower seated 4 tops and 2 lower seated 2 tops. We will absolutely be back. Parking: Typical downtown parking. Hope to get street parking. Or you may have to walk a couple blocks finding side street parking. Kid-friendliness: I would not bring kids here. I m sure you can but don t. Leave them at home and enjoy a night out!

Bar Bricco is a worthy heir to the old Corso32 legacy. Two dishes stand as some of the very best bites in Alberta: fonduta agnolotti and eggs cacio e pepe with moliterno cheese. Also very good by Edmonton standards is the culatello crostini with too much truffle butter, carne crudo (can be hit or miss but outstanding on a good day), and the divine Amadei Tuscany chocolate truffles that never quite seem to be served properly at room temperature - so order it early and let it warm up at your table. Parking can be tricky on weekends, the seats at the bar are way too firm, and the place itself is terribly loud. Not everything on the menu is good, eg recent additions like braised leeks as well as a chicken jus pasta that was overly salted. Easily one of best places in Western Canada to celebrate a special occasion with drinks accompanied by food fit for foodies.

Intimate setting with amazing staff who know their stuff. You won t be disappointed in any of the cocktails or the wine list. Food menu may require some explaining by server as it s hard to visualize what you re getting from the minimalist descriptions. High top bar stools are not comfortable at all unless you ve got a bit of built in cushion. Overall I d say this place never tends to disappoint as long as you can get in, reso recommended!

Finally visited bar bricco after many visits to their sister restaurant uccelino and was not disappointed! The service was amazing. Not a single detail missed but also never felt like we were being overly-attended to, so it was still a very private and calm experience. Some menu highlights for me were the focaccia (seriously would come back just for this bread) and the agnolotti (obviously). The chocolate truffle was also a nice touch to end the meal and a perfect serving size for someone with a slight sweet tooth in my opinion. Only negative experience for me was that we had to wait for our table, despite having a reservation in advance, and the fact that the menu was just very heavy for me. I found it to be very decadent with not many options to break that up and by the end of the meal I just wasn t enjoying it because it all started to blend in. Some lighter, less rich, options more than just 2 salads would be great! Overall though I will definitely return!

The delicious food made up for the bad attitude of the waitress. The plant-based appetizers were delicious, as were the raviolo and the agnolotti. Wine was passing, cocktails were much better. But really, our waitress had some serious attitude issues from the moment we entered the restaurant to when she overcharged us with items we hadn t ordered. Thank God the food was exquisite!

Rich, decadent, succulent, yet soft, deep, and light.

Went to Bar Bricco for my husband s birthday and the food was delicious! However, it was overshadowed by the service. The waitress we had made us feel like an inconvenience the entire evening. She was rude and snappy when we asked any questions, which was very confusing and made us reluctant to ask for much. For some reason, it seemed like she had her mind made up about us as soon as we walked in and overall it was a very uncomfortable experience. We would not go back to Bar Bricco or recommend it to family or friends due to feeling very unwanted in the establishment.

I have been here half a dozen times since opening back in the mid 2010 s. This time had some definite pros and cons. We were brought through the back and seated on the Corso 32 side. A note about accessibility: the restaurant is 1 level (no stairs, landings etc) and is wheelchair friendly. The washrooms are unfortunately gendered single stall (which never makes sense to me). I hope they choose to make them gender neutral in the future to create a safe space for LGBTQ diners. As well, the entire place is quite echoey with the music, the concrete and the layout. If you have sensory needs related to sound like I do, it can be challenging at times. The plates are loud on the concrete tables, the music is on the loud side, but had a great sound system. The music itself was also great. We had a louder, large group beside us, and every time they erupted into laughter, I felt my soul leave my body. Jokes aside, the ambience is nice. It is very sexy and dark and makes for a nice date night, but is loud, maybe just where we were sitting. The server was nice, not remarkable but was friendly and relatively attentive. I would have liked if they went over some of the changes to the menu since re-opening. One noticeable change was that the meat and cheese plates are no longer mix and match, they are set menus. I felt a bit disappointed, as I found the selection wonderful, and I am very keen on the mortadella. At least the porchetta and ricotta was included; they also seemed to expand their tapas/shareables menu to make up for the set menu. Still, I didn t agree with the change. I prefer the mix and match quite a bit more. My partner and I are sober so we started with two alcohol free cocktails, both were $10 but very good! I would love to see more options for alcohol free beers as well - but honestly the fact they had any alcohol free options other than water and pop was nice. Food was delicious. We got the olives, the meat and cheese plates, the delicious pastas you dip in butter and parm, and the beef carpaccio. It was lots of meat, and not a vegetable in sight! When I made the reservation, it asked if we were celebrating anything (we were- our anniversary) but there was nothing added or special to our experience. Which was fine of course, but why ask if nothing is going to happen? Some pros and cons for sure, but overall an enjoyable evening, and we will be returning.

I did email privately and did not receive a response, so I wanted to share in case this resonates with others. I had been holding onto a gift card for a little too long, then came covid, and on Saturday I decided to use it for my 30th birthday. I was left disappointed. The service was friendly, albeit a little clumsy, and left out a lot of potential excitement and enthusiasm. The ambiance was nice, but the food was so lackluster. Had my company and gift card not made up for it, I would have been very, very sad. A friend had taken me to Uccelino a while ago, and I enjoyed it much more. We ordered the cheese plate (very small portion for the price), egg raviolo (covered in so much cheese, it was hard to taste anything else), the pancetta crostini (I honestly couldn t taste anything other than the heat that came through) and a few other dishes my friends shared that were just alright. Also the dessert menu was limited and the non-truffle offering was oatmeal and prune based. Eh. For such a revered restaurant in Edmonton, I was sincerely let down. I don t go out much, especially anymore, and when this is the cost for a local fine dining experience, its an unfortunate experience. It felt like a place where people just go to have a cool drink and been seen, not have a really lovely meal that they feel excited about or to celebrate or to learn about food or to have an experience they could not have anywhere else. I know how hard the Corso group has worked to bring and elevate the restaurant scene in Edmonton, and I felt none of that passion. I have no reason to return.
