Pizza, Pasta & More
Food was flavorless and overpriced. I had to spice it up on my own to make it palatable. They are not even Italian so why create an Italian restaurant??? If you are Romanian, then be proud of that and create a Romanian restaurant! As mentioned in other reviews here, the owner is extremely aggressive, arrogant and rude as I experienced when staying at his "motel" next door.
This little restaurant is definitely a place to go prices might be a tad high and portions small but they make up for it in a very big way with super friendly staff, a lovely dining room and the real flavors of Italy the food was incredible not over the top overpowering spices or anything just honest and simple yet full its definitely a real treat I highly recommend visiting i know I'll definitely be back again
Very happy with our visit for diner tonight. Everything was fresh and very tasty. Service was fast and precise! Like the other reviews say … the pizza is fabulous.
I found this restaurant while travelling, such an amazing experience with the food , service and ambiance. If you like Italian food must visit.. We tried Bruschette , Ravioli Pasta 😋😋 fingers licking.
We always find eating in Edmundston a bit of a trial. We prefer to avoid fast food after driving 8 hours and the standard restaurants usually have long wait times and don't take reservations. We were absolutely blown away by the quality of the food at Da Leila. It was truly top tier and the interior is beautiful. Homemade mozzarella and house made sausage. It was all exceptional. The saltimbocca was the best I have ever had.
The food was good. The service was horrible. After waiting for over an hour for a pizza. I asked what happened? . I believe it was the owner. Raised his voice, and said this is not McDonald's ! There was obviously an error. In stead of admitting it. He was rude and aggressive. Not a professional reaction. I would highly recommend you hire a professional server. As clearly this is not your forte.
I had one of the finest Napoli style pizzas that I have ever had at De Lelia. Highly recommended
Terrific Italian meal. Fresh salad and lovely pizza.
The pasta was undercooked and small portions. No quality check.
Wowww, THANK YOU what a great dining experience! Excellent, quality food, varied menu and very generous in terms of quantity! Friendly atmosphere with Italian music which brings a warm color. A+ service, so a place that I highly recommend! We will return there for sure!!!
Food is great! Authentic recipes.
As close as you can come to Italy in NB! Ignore the negative review of wait time as every thing is fresh made so expect it to take the proper time. Just chill and enjoy.
Pretty good pizza, but the guy seemed annoyed that we were sharing food and the service wasnt great.
Best Italian restaurant in New Brunswick
The best Margarita pizza in Canada
Excellent cuisine, impeccable service, very good quality meals, the desserts are sublime.
We just celebrated our wedding anniversary there today. The food was amazing, perfectly seasoned. I just wish the portion was a little bigger. We will be back, for sure. Grazie Mille!
Orderd out pizza this evening and it was fantastic. Next time were in town well definitely have to go and try the rest of the menu!
We ordered 1 pizza and a pasta dish. The pizza was good but the cacio e pepe pasta was not to my taste. I found the portion of pasta a little small. But the aperitif was delicious.
Excellent quality food, service, and all. I cant wait to come back. Kid-friendliness: Family friendly! Food : 5/5 |
Risotto with mushrooms was delicious as was my husbands shrimp Risotto! Highly recommend. Open late so great when arriving in town even at 9 pm.
Best Pizza we ve ever had! Highly Recommend eating here!
The food was awesome! Well seasoned, fresh and well prepared. Kudos and keep up the great work!
Quite honestly, it s been a long time since I ate such a good Italian meal! I will definitely come back during our next stay in NB!
I can only give amazing compliments to this restaurant and the owner, who is always a pleasure to see. We are so very lucky to have this authentic Italian cuisine in our region. Coming from an Italian family and growing up making these dishes, I can confirm that the recipes are authentic and tasteful. They are doing everything right. I would absolutely recommend sharing a pizza (la Diavola) is the best and a plate of pasta each, which is usually my typical go-to. The spaghetti aglio e olio and gnocci quatro formaggi are delicious. The Tiramisu and the tartufo are to die for. And of course, with a few classic drinks (Aperol, Wine, & limoncello) along the way, make for a great evening. The only thing I have to say is sometimes the service can be a bit dry depending on the employees working but I think that will come with experience. Overall 5/5 !
Family owned nice restaurant. Chef husband is Italian and wife sever. Must try.
We were happy to learn that Edmonston, NB, had more than just food chains available for Sunday dinner! And even happier when our various dishes arrived! From the fresh hot buns with olive oil and balsamic, to the Caprese salad with homemade mozza cheese, Tagliatelle al Limone, and sautéed vegetables and spinach, it was a true Italian feast. Capped it off with an amazing Tiramasu. Well worth the little extra $ compared to a chain pizza joint! (I meant to suggest to the owner that the music would be just as good if it was a little quieter, and maybe a candle on each table would be a nice touch.) De Lelia was a real treat and we wish we lived closer so we could enjoy it more often. Bravo! Vegetarian options: Lots of pastas, pizzas and risottos, side dishes, and salad that are great veg!
Wonderful Italian menu. Perfectly done. Carbonaro done just right. Well balanced rossotto with salmon. Classic Italian bar choices. Very well done. Not your pasta and ribs chain. Will be back. Food : 5/5
Excellent meal, simple but delicious pasta and salad!
Delicious food!
A remarkable find and if your traveling worthy of taking the time to enjoy, The meals are worthy of a five star rating Food : 5/5
The bruschetta was amazing! The pasta and gnocchi were very good. It was a very pleasant atmosphere especially after a long day of driving. No stress!! Thanks for a great meal
My parents and I came to Edmunston and discovered this amazing restaurant..it was soo great that we stopped by a 2nd time 1 week later. The owners made effort to check up on us and ensure that our meals came in a timely manner. I look forward to eating here again with my family and would recommend to anyone coming to Edmunston.
Found this gem of a restaurant while traveling. Cannot say enough about the food and the service. We felt very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The focaccia was to die for. The chicken with the gorgonzola sauce was outstanding. Everything was very fresh and tasty. We added a dessert just because he food was so good. The staff was very attentive to our needs and consequently we tipped more than usual. We will definitely return whenever we pass through Edmundston, New Brunswick. Well worth the detour.
Wonderful restaurant. Great food and service in a relaxing atmosphere. I would recommend to anyone wanting to experience authentic Italian food. Best italian food Ive had in years. Thank you.
Stopped here for dinner on an overnight stay in Edmundston. Wonderful, authentic, true, Italian restaurant experience! Food was delicious - focaccia, Mediterranean salad, a pizza and a pork dish, and all were delicious! Even the house white wine was great! Owner was attentive without being annoying, and the food was served hot and fresh. Sadly, we were only one of two tables on a Saturday night, dinner time. Locals - support your independent restaurants or they will not survive! Next time you think about going to a chain for dinner, try something different! You will not be disappointed in De Leila!
I arrived from Ottawa expecting to eat a good mushroom risotto, however this exceeded my expectations. My husband had gnocchi with pancetta and it was really amazing. Good choice!
A warm welcome and an authentic Italian atmosphere. As for the pizzas, they are delicious.
Amazing food. Authentic and delicious. Great service too.
The menu is a little difficult to understand, given the Italian touch in the spotlight. But the variety and quality of the dishes was great. The atmosphere is warm and Italian music was the cherry on Sunday. I opted for an Italian pizza with mushrooms and Proscuitto, it was perfect. We will definitely go back there. Vegetarian options: Lots of meals that dont have meats Parking: Large parking lot nearby Wheelchair accessibility: Restaurant without stairs, clear entrance
Best pasta and pizza I have ever eaten! THANKS!
Very good Italian restaurant
I ate pizza here with my family and we want to congratulate you because we finally found a traditional pizza like in Italy... we felt at home both for the kindness and simplicity of the staff and for the cleanliness.
For 3 years that we have been here in NB (Saint John) I am really very very happy to have found an Italian restaurant worthy of the name, run by Italians and who therefore know how to cook real Italian cuisine. We absolutely ENJOYED ourselves, well done to the cook! I could nevertheless have given it 5 stars but unfortunately the service was really not up to par. I still left a 10% tip because shes a student (I guess) and I wasnt comfortable putting nothing in, but thats what should have happened at the time. base. We had to ask twice for glasses for our drinks and for our children a glass of water, telling me that it was cottage cheese in the ravioli that I could have ordered, when no, I knew full well that that was not the case, I wanted to make sure there was no bruising, so I asked him to check in the kitchen . And indeed there is blue in the ravioli so I didn t order any (fortunately because I m allergic!). We felt that we were disturbing her with our children who were certainly noisy, but they had had a very long day in the car and were tired. A fork fallen on the ground that has not been changed. Once again, shes a student, so we could understand, but thats a bit off-putting for a possible next time. I know your clients very well who live in Saint Joseph, they are the ones who recommended us to come and we have no regrets. It was so pleasant to eat real Italian dishes (my husband when he saw his plate of carbo spaghetti arriving, he said well, they know how to make a real carbonara! ). We also tried the cannoli at Christmas (which my cousin picked up to take away the old day I think) and they were also excellent! In summary: congratulations for your work, for your delicious dishes, service to be reviewed but we will come back when we return to the area. See you soon !! Sara ROMEO marries CARON
We were there for the first time tonight, and I can assure you, it will not be the last. The food was exquisite! The service was good, the wait for our order more then reasonable, and the patron friendly. Dress up, have a drink, relax, take time to taste a mouth full of fresh ingredients, and finish it all off with a to die for tiramisu!! Trust me, you will not regret it!
The pizza was really good, I recommend you go and eat it.
Everything was great, the food was very delicious, the service was the same and on top of that the family atmosphere, thank you for everything!
Restaurant with a very good location and good parking. Excellent products and the dishes are of very good quality. We had a great meal and we will surely repeat. It is very worth it. The service is also excellent. Highly recommended.
The meals were very good, but the pasta portions were really small And the glass of white wine was lukewarm $213 for a family of 5. No bread, no starter, only a few drinks and everyone was hungry when they left.
Food is tasty, service is good...
Excellent selection of fresh Italian classics Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options with excellent salads Dietary restrictions: Choices for low sugar, low carb diets were also available Parking: No difficulty to park with a street level entrance
If your looking for a fast lunch, this not the place. However, if your looking for a feist for your taste buds then you hit the right spot. Excellent food, great experience highly recommend. This is what eating out should be like.
Nice Italian restaurant. Parking: Parking next to the restaurant in a parking lot.
The food was pretty good however for the price the portions were pretty small. The pasta tasted delicious just really tiny amount. Pizza however was quite good
The flavors were there. Friendly place. Ordinary service and portions need to be reviewed. Despite what the chef thinks, in an Italian restaurant, it is very rare to have the desire to go elsewhere to complete the meal because the portion is really too small.
My wife and I were on a road trip through eastern Canada. The manager at our Edmonston hotel gave us a list of restaurants and we picked Da Lelia nearly at random as we had no knowledge of any of the restaurants on the list. We were very impressed! First, the playlist was quintessentially Italian with songs like Tu Vuo Fà LAmericano and many other classics. We then observed the server set the table next to ours. She was meticulous in her setting of the placemats and the cutlery and to our great astonishment wore a white cotton glove on her right hand to polish each piece of cutlery before carefully placing it down on the table, a front-of-house technique we have only seen in Michelin star establishments! The final remarkable touch came when the server adjusted each chair at a slight angle to the table achieving a wonderful you are welcome to be seated effect. We had had a very long travel day so what we wanted was a quick meal. We ordered a bottle of Fontanafredda Langhe 2021 and 2 pizza quattro stagioni. The pizzas were among the best we have had in years...anywhere in the world! The crust was light and crisp and the toppings were fresh and well balanced. We finished off our meal with a tiramisu that was perfect. Bottom line: Best pizza weve had in years and service staff who really care. Grazie, chef Daniele!
During a travel overnight stay in Edmundston, I came accros this family owned small Italian Restaurant. Before going I checked the reviews and it was over 4 We decided to go and we were extremely satisfied. While the plate portions were a bit small, they were perfect to taste different dishes and finish with excellent deserts and coffee The homemade pizza dough, the pasta, tiramisu, gelato and were perfect. The service was great and it was very for the chef to come and talk to us (something you rarely see in restaurants
What a wonderful romantic atmosphere. Fabulous pizza and pasta dish highly recommended. Very wonderful be back again in our travels. Thankyou NAOMI Food
Authentic flavours, ingredients and smells so difficult to find far from Italy. I want to come back here as often as possible. All excellent. Thank you for your hospitality
Awesome perfect I love the food the service is impeccable
Impeccable service, beautiful atmosphere. We had a great family meal and everyone loved the tasty Italian food! Whether it was the salads, pasta or pizza, it was delicious! I highly recommend!
This place is a hidden gem. We just wanted to take a short break from driving and grab a bite. We stumbled upon some of the greatest Pizza we have ever eaten (considering weve been to Italy a few times). The dessert and the coffee were perfect as well.
Some lovely folk told us to go here. What a gem this place is!!!! Worth travelling from NS for. We went here twice and felt like we were visiting old friends and the food was amazing. Graci!!
Delicious and welcoming
Enjoyed a great dinner tonight our appetizer was delicious and so were the two main course meals we ordered
Went in for take-out. The inside is very cozy, the staff was super friendly, but the restaurant was sadly pretty quiet. Food was flavorful and well made, really recommend the focaccia. This place definitely deserves to be busier than it was.
$2 for 4 dry bread croutons...
Best restaurant in the region. Best Pizza in New Brunswick.
The best restaurant from region. The best pizza ever! And the staff is very friendly!
Wow! Perfections is in the details! This is a must try! The best pizza and the crust is amazing!
Amazing pizza I will definitely order again!
Awesome pizza! Great crust and the homemade tomato sauce is very good! Took the pizza for a takeout and talked to the owner for about 20 minutes. Very nice man and friendly as well! I will be back!
Had the risotto with mushrooms and tiramisu, and was great, small and cozy, only thing i forgot to tell him how many receipts and he didnt ask me, we were 3, came time to pay took longer but everything was great.
Nice little restaurant for an affordable Italian meal. Clean facilities, nice atmosphere and a terrace for those who like to eat outside. For the price, the food is very good. Restaurant had just opened a week or two prior our visit so the service was not amazing but staff were nice and working hard to do their best... which is normal and should get better with time. Vegetarian options: Several pasta and salad options for vegetarians. Parking: Parking just across the street.
amazing food, quick service and fantastic wine
All the dishes are incredibly delicious. Very nice restaurant. Great discovery.
Simple menu. Subtle salads. Super Pasta and Supreme dessert. All that and a Peroni. What more do you need. Best and newest kept secret in Edmundston!
The Salmon Risotto is delicious! The panna cotta too. The gentleman who served us was nice. Im going back soon to try the pizza.
This restaurant is a breath of fresh air compared to the usual choices in town. If you want to enjoy authentic Italian dishes the way they are made in Italy then this is the place to go. What youll get is simple but quality ingredients that make well balanced and flavourful dishes. Ive enjoyed every bite and will definitely return.
Great food
Excellent dinning experience. Food ( pizza) was so good. Server\Owner was a really friendly personable fellow. If I lived here it would be a regular Italian night out. Gracias.
Excellent, the staff is nice
Beautiful place, beautiful welcome, we are lucky to have a different restaurant in the area
Very pleasant experience, friendly service, very detailed explanation of the menu, beautiful atmosphere. In short, a good recommendation for dining alone or even with family.
Molto bene! An authentic experience of a local Italian restaurant, just like we had when we lived in Turin for 3 years. Not fancy, but good.
Very disappointing dishes. Ordered the panzanella salad and spaghetti bolognaise for take out. The meals were ready quickly but the portions were very modest for the price. The pasta serving was half the size expected. It was cooked al denté however the sauce was bland and there was not nearly enough for the amount of pasta. The salad wasn t even close to as described in the menu consisting of only 2 small slices of un-toasted baguette with mostly romaine lettuce and a few bits of under-ripe tomato with a bit of chopped grocery store processed ham slices. Panazella is a bread/tomato salad with well toasted crusty Italian bread sautéed in olive oil, garlic and herbs. The sautéed bread is mixed with ripe Italian tomatoes, often with some cucumber for crunch and torn fresh basil and onion to taste with a red wine vinegarette. When done properly it is wonderful however this version was unrecognisable. The salad was politely returned but even when resto staff démonstrated that the salad did NOT match the ingredients listed in the menu to the owner, he bullied the customer. Payment was refunded but the owner was insulting and dismissive rather than apologetic. I have never written a review like this before but both the dishes and the attitude of this owner were unacceptable. Shame!
The pictures say pizza and pasta but I was recommended to try the risotto and I was very happy at the result!
After a 13 hour drive from Ontario on our way to Bocabec NB, we spent a night in Edmunston. We came across Da Lelia, a quaint Italian restaurant. Its worth searching out this place as the whole experience was fantastic. The food was delicious. The service was personable. Magnifico!
Amazing food and service
Excellent food Excellent staff. Fully recommended a visit. Thanks for a great authentic Italian experience. Parking: Ample parking available.
Food: Very tasty and layered Service: Lukewarm Too bad businesses never seem to understand that its both sides that make people come back, not just one or the other. Will give it another try for sure to see if we were just unlucky service wise as the food is worth a second chance.
I found a small piece of Italy in Canada! If you want the most authentic Italian cuisine, this is the place! I recommend the pizza (any choice is good) and the carbonara. But if you want to go back in time to Ancient Rome then go ahead and order yourself a Tiramisu. I will be coming back soon!
Amazing food, cant say much just look at the presentation. Impeccable! Truly Italian by all means, I will be coming back with friends and family.
Delicious food, great atmosphere, and inviting staff. Best dinner spot in town!!
A real Made in Italy restaurant
Amazing!!! Price makes sense, food top quality and serve beyond expectations. Its a must go
Excellent Italian cuisine and atmosphere. Friendly owners, great experience. THANKS!
Best dining experience ever. The food is heavenly. Staff are very courteous and helpful.
I am very satisfied with my evening...the meal was delicious and the service was great I would recommend everyone to go there...
Excellent food, nice welcome very satisfied. Congratulations to these guys for bringing a piece of Italy here.
Excellent burrata, with its shiny bag, milky white colour, filled with stracciatella, with a pinch of pepper and a drizzle of olive oil and an invitation to fresh indulgences.
2022: small, simple, warm Italian restaurant. The thin crust pizza was super good, nice quantity and quality of the toppings (the quatro with olive, artichoke, ham, mushroom, cheese) for me and the carnivore + dessert + Italian beer for my partner. The service is courteous and fast. We had all the explanations requested and more...in 3 languages if desired! Very nice experience. Vegetarian options: Pizza or pasta Parking: At least 6 places
Dinner .dessert. service was fantastic. Happy national chianti day
Soon as we walked in this lovely lady greeted us with a smile and took us to our seat right away, but that s Where the good service ended, we waited a while for our server to come over think it might have been the Owner, he kept walking by cleaning off tables. At this time there was only one table waiting for food and two others just finishing. So no reason it should have taken that long. Pasta was good, Portion was a size for a child the pizza was good definitely would never go back not due to the food due to the service.
The place is really beautiful, the welcome is great and the meals are excellent, all accompanied by soothing background music.
Da Lelia, Italian Restaurant, Edmundston, LESS THAN 5 STARS is the adequate rating for this restaurant. I d love to rate the food but since the owner literally KICKED US OUT, I can only comment on the lack of common decency, respect and customer service from the owners of this place. During my annual summer visit, my family chose De Lelia as our destination for our annual family dinner. A beautiful family of 7 adults and a child, all well dressed, polite and quiet. Our Crime? We didn t order fast enough. The owner wanted us to order drinks, appetizers and main dish the minute we arrived. Our reservation was at 7:30 on a Saturday night, we had plenty of time and wanted to enjoy a relaxing dinner. After ordering salads, the owner came back, grabbed our menus and told us the kitchen was closed. Then the story was that their oven wasn t working anymore. Funny, I don t ever recall needing an oven to prepare salads. The owner is arrogant, impolite and obviously knows absolutely nothing about running a business and doesn t understand that as an entrepreneur, no matter the industry, the first rule if you want to be successful is to take care of your clients. Luckily for us other restaurants in the city have understood that message and I d like to thank Que Padre who welcomed us with open arms where we had excellent food & service, even without a reservation. People of the Edmundston region, we have a beautiful city with many wonderful entrepreneurs who work hard and understand the importance of good customer service. Please, support those great people. We have many excellent restaurants. It s not necessary to support an owner who has absolutely no appreciation or respect for his clients. Nobody deserves the treatment we received. P.S. by the way, I phoned the next day to make a reservation. There were no issues with the oven. I guess the appliance repair guys offer an excellent service on Saturday nights. #dontsupportDaLelia
They were rude and asked friends to order immediately when they got there reservations were at 7:30 they told them to leave that the stove was broke as it was a liecause they ordered salads really ride and unprofessional ps.friends called the next day was on sunday they said the stove worked great
The worst service you will have and make sure you dress well or they will kick you out
An excellent restaurant with friendly staff!
Super cool
I arrived at approximately 6:30. I ordered a cappuccino and ice water and a pasta bolognes. I waited almost an hour for the meal. I had drank the cappuccino and the water, noone asked me if I would like more water or anything else. The pasta arrived and it was ....disappointing. I think I finished it in 5 mouthfuls. The beef was so sparce. When it was done noone asked me if I wanted another drink or dessert. I wanted to pay. The staff seem to be not allowed to check you out. Only the owner can. He continued to serve other customers while I waited to pay. For almost ten minutes. I was to the point of totalling my meal to leave cash on the counter when he finally came over. The total for the very small pasta and cappuccino was over $28. Not even close. Would not recommend. No tip. I left at 7:40 still hungry and extremely disappointed. I will have to go eat somewhere else.
A nice restaurant, the pizzas are good, I will definitely come back next time to try the pasta The only point to improve may be the service but otherwise to recommend
Very good food pizza is excellent
Excellent Italian pizza and very nice atmosphere. The chairs are positioned in a way that makes you feel welcome in the restaurant and the decor is very European. You feel like you are in a real Italian restaurant. Very good experience to go with the family or with your gf/bf.
I just discovered this place. Ordered 2 Osso Buco and a bottle of Chianti. Speechless. Food : 5/5
Really good pasta, pizza and ambiance.
Authentic flavors!
Mamamyaaaa It was SUCCULENT!! ...the PIZZA? phew...hard to beat! With the ambient music, the decor and the good service of the beautiful Lelia, we could imagine ourselves in ITALY
After coming to this restaurant a few days after its opening and seeing that the atmosphere there was horrible due to the owner glaring at employees and customers, we returned there recently, hoping that the situation had improved. and that the situation was simply due to the stress of the opening. The cuisine is just OK, good pizzas but nothing extraordinary: Im Italian, I know what Im talking about. Furthermore, the boss is the same as himself: not friendly at all, not helpful, not smiling, his employees seem sad... He undoubtedly deserves the title of the least nice person in the region! And finally... How come this restaurant gets several 5 star reviews from people based in Romania?! There are in fact several 5-star reviews of this kind, without any comments, one after the other... It smacks of fake reviews, just there to raise the restaurants rating and fool customers. Faced with the welcome and the dismal service, the lack of honesty of the reviews on the internet and the overall basic cuisine, its over for us, we wont set foot there again. We strongly advise against it, unless you want to regret your experience afterwards and we let readers form an opinion on the quality of the managers response below... In Italy, you are welcomed with a smile, there is contact with customers and human warmth. The customer is important, their opinion counts, we take their comments into account, we discuss... We question ourselves and we try to do better next time...
Very poor service.
Man, this is the best place in town period. This is the real deal. The food taste out of this world and we will keep going there and cant wait to try it all. Keep up the great work!!!
Excellent restaurant. Authentic Italian menu, dishes prepared with care and what can we say about the friendliness of the staff! Everything is exquisite and highly recommended. Vegetarian options: Yes Parking: Near the restaurant. Kid-friendliness: Yes
Its a great place to eat...food is tasty and amazing!
Really good service and excellent food! We had a great experience!
