100 Rue Rice, Edmundston, NB E3V 1T4, Canada
Amazing food!! Steak was on point. Scallops so tasty and mussels great appetizer to share. Everything was fabulous. Kudos to the new chef & team!
Unfortunately, our experience at Frank’s Bar & Grill was quite disappointing. The quality of the food was poor, and it did not meet our expectations. I ordered a Veg Bowl, and the rice, which is a basic component, was undercooked. The Fried Calamari was also undercooked, making it unenjoyable. To top it off, the prices were quite high for the quality of the food we received. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t recommend it.
Barb our bartender server was so nice and informative and great service. Vanesa working with Barb was also great. Should be back for drink next week.
The service was terrible, we waited 15 minutes to even be seen for water. The food (salads) came out one by one, and a great distance between each, like one person was half way gone before the next salad was out. And took about 40 minutes to start coming out. Salads looked very sad and something I throw together at home .. way too expensive for what was served . One is salads, was supposed to be on a bed of arugula , came out with spinach and rusted lettuce, then she brought out 1 cup of arugula for ME to toss in it… wth?! Water refill came as I asked for the bill…. Ummmm.. terrible service, food was 1 star . First time I wrote a review. And it was a must. Also , steak complaints surrounding us 50$ steaks that appeared to look worse then a microwave meal .. gave a 20% discount , nice j’estime, way too late. :/
Incredibly slow service. The server refilled my husband’s coffee but not mine. When I called her over for more coffee, I had to wait 10 minutes for the refill and the server only gave me 1/2 cup for the refill which was barely warm. Also I was drinking decaf and she refilled with regular. My order was also incorrect. I asked for maple syrup on the side but it was poured all over my breakfast. The place was not busy at all. Skip this spot and head somewhere else.
After waiting 40 minutes for our appetizers, our waitress comes to ask us if food is good. We had water and Pepsi at that time, no food. Once our food arrives. Sauces are missing . I ordered a salmon. Was terribly undercooked. Tried to signal my waitress but she was too busy. I ate around the uncooked salmon. Was still gross. By the time she came. I told her but was to grosses out to have another one like she offered bill arrived. She charged me full price!!! Stating she called manager and no discount was gonna be given? I thought it was outrageous and had to take offer off another salmon in take out container. I'm leaving restaurant with and upset stomach for eating undercooked salmon. Made me sick. I don't recommend this place to anyone. What used to be great food and great service is now garbage !!
Overpriced and nothing special. Upgrades to meals are extreme...fries to poutine (tiny)+7$ Wait staff are very good and honest, it is open late.
We arrived at 7pm and were promptly greeted and escorted to a table. I asked for a high chair, as I had our daughter in tow. We were given menus and the host let us know that the waitress would be right over. First issue, we were not given any water or a children’s menu. I tried several times to flag someone down for a children’s menu, because we were tired and hungry from being on the road, and our toddler was getting fussy from hunger so I wanted to order ASAP. Finally, our waitress came over at about 7:15 with water glasses - she was friendly, but she seemed pretty inexperienced and others around us were visibly also unhappy with the service they were receiving. There was an elderly couple behind us who had been waiting for their bill since before we were seated. Another couple beside us both got garden salads instead of Cesar salads, and they were voicing their displeasure loudly. I inquired to the waitress about if a children’s menu existed, and it did - so she left again to get it. I wasn’t too thrilled with the children’s menu because it was basically “chicken fingers” “fish n chips” “hotdog” “salad”. My toddler hasn’t gotten the hang of eating anything that’s like a sandwich, and definitely can’t eat salad yet (choking hazard for young children). So the only options left are both fried foods with fries - no available substitutes (I.e. steamed veggies or something). The whole point of going to the restaurant over going to a drive thru was for healthier options and less junk food… but here we are. I was pretty disappointed by their options for children. I don’t know if maybe the waitress was new and in training or something so I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt. The restaurant was pretty busy, and only a few tables were open. It seemed to me like there were two waiters and one bartender and they were all juggling hosting/greeting/seating/bussing. They were obviously understaffed for the volume of people. Around 8 our appetizer arrived - fried chicken wings with sauce on the side. Only issue I had was that I would prefer and expect side plates with chicken wings, but we were not given any. Additionally, the only napkins available were the ones wrapped around the utensils. So with messy fingers we had to undo the other utensils since we couldn’t flag the busy waitress down for more napkins. I find this practice very wasteful since they will have to rewash all the opened utensils. It’s likely a covid issue with the napkins, but none the less, the servers should have the foresight that wings are messy so they should know to bring napkins when serving. Shortly thereafter our mains arrived. They were both very good, but my chicken sandwich had a mystery chunk in it (likely meat shrapnel from the deep fryer). So heads up to those who have allergies that the fryer obviously used for all foods (specifically seafood allergies). Overall good, but I found the tomato extremely thick cut and too much red onion (there was like an entire onions diameter of red onion in there! - I feel bad for my husband now since my breath is likely terrible) My husband ordered the fajitas: overall he enjoyed them but found that there was way too much onion in their ratio. We also ordered the $7 fish and chip for our toddler and it was massive. I wish it had been smaller, since again that amount is pretty wasteful. Overall, I found the prices high (pretty typical for a hotel restaurant). For two beers, one shared appetizer, two mains, and one child’s meal we paid $96!
Great food and service
Revolting and expensive. The $54 Ribeye was actually a flank steak that identified as a Ribeye. It was sliced up and dumped haphazardly over a bed of mashed potatoes, no doubt to hide its dubious pedigree. My son and I did our best to force down some of it, even though I would not have fed it to my dog...The Pepsis were nice and tiny, leaving lots of room for the meal. The Calamari tasted like rolled up carboard served with an equally tasteless dollop of spaghetti sauce. My daughter refused to eat her burger, so I took a bite. It had a curious taste. You know, the kind where you chew slowly and cautiously while scrutinizing the patty, and your stomach whispers; I offer no guarantee that this will not be rejected later. Luckily, I heeded the warning and my stomach and I remain good friends to this day! Inspired by the pretty white billowing smoke from the nearby pulp mill, we went for a stroll to a gas station and my daughter picked up a Lunchable for dinner. The Best Before date was several months in the future so we knew the meat and cheese was super fresh. She loved it! That was the highlight of our stop in Edmundston. Keep your foot on the gas...
Marketed as a gluten free restaurant. Do not have a dedicated frier and would not sub a side salad unless I paid 4$ more. Staff are not gluten aware. Dietary restrictions: See above
Stir fry was excellent. Chicken wrap as well. the young man who served us gave fantastic service. Very friendly and attentive. . I wish i had his name . I highly recommend
Mothers Day 2024 buffet, the most bare and cold ever seen. It felt like we were going to help ourselves in the back kitchen, everything was empty and cold. There were almost no customers and I understand why. $160 for 4 (taxes/tips included) is a steal for eating scrap!!
Had Breakfast on June 3 on our way to PEI. In a hotel. Fancy. Lots of seniors there. Service slow. $85 breakfast for 3. Kinda pricey. Charge you separately. Thought pancakes and toast included, nope charge you individually for everything!! My host who was paying was upset with us.
Great food! Prices were a bit higher, but the food was delicious.
Frank Burger meat was very dry . Very sloppy with to much sauce . Only ate half. Onion soup was very salty.. service was friendly though . Pricey fir a burger..
Fantastic food and service from a 2-person crew in a full restaurant on New Year s Day
Probably best to avoid. I didnt know it was a hotel restaurant until we had already arrived. It took a long time for anyone to come seat us (no line, many tables available). It took even longer for them to take our order, though they got drinks to us in a decent time. Two of us eventually got our food, the third was told that they didnt have the item that they ordered and so our third had to wait again for their order while we ate our food. The food was okay, but two of us ended up with upset stomachs the next day (unsure if related specifically to this restaurants food). Also, the French onion soup was, honest to god, saltier than ocean water. Probably loaded with MSG as well, but who knows. At least the staff were nice. If you want good food and dont mind paying a few bucks more, go to Moonshinhers...
Great Food and great service from restaurant manager he was top notch!!!! Waitress had a big table with over 15 people and the manager made sure we were taken care of ....complimentary food while we waited on our main course ...A ++++++
Very good place to eat and drink anything too.
this place is absolutely brutal my waiter was french and i got called a few slurs for being fat
Extremely overpriced for what you get, 14$ for a sides of onion rings..? Food really isnt that great, you can tell it aint fancy but trying so hard to be. 8$ for a 355ml can? Pure theft. Be smart, go somewhere thats actually a fancy sit down restaurant.
Food was very good, staff were outstanding and very helpful. Would definitely return there. Parking: Plenty of parking in their lot across the street from the restaurant. Availability for dropping off guests at the door and then parking in the lot.
Good faste service whit local biere
Food was good and good quality to the place was clean and sharp the plate are big
OK as a place however they dont differentiate between espresso, latte, etc!
We thought we would try somewhere new for dinner. We were seated right away with only about 4 tables and a party booked. We ordered fish and chips, kids chicken fingers and fries, and loaded fries.... over an hour later they STILL hadnt even started our order!!! After all that we still paid $20 for 1 pop, 1 beer and a kids chocolate milk. Definitely shouldnt have had to pay anything. Very disappointed and left extremely hungry. My 4 year old and myself (7 months pregnant) were not happy at all! Over an hour for all fried food that still wasnt even started. Would give 0 stars if i could.Wont be back.
Enjoyed the Frank s stir-fry and my partner loved the fajitas. Very good, courteous and fast service
Weve waited 35 minutes to just get water and coffee, another 30 to receive overcooked bacon and sausages. The apogee of disappointment in service, taste and waiting time.
Nice restaurant, food was average.
Delicious Burger
Very frustrating experience. The hostess was a pleasant young lady, inexperienced but pleasant. The waitress was clearly not happy to be serving our table of 6. I was there with my wife, 2 children, mother and stepfather. She made it clear that she was busy and wasn t going to be making multiple trips to our table. The food took so long to come out that the young hostess came and asked if we were finished so she could clear the table. We told her we would like to be served our food before we left. She went to the kitchen and our food was out in a minute. The manager was hopeless. The food was fine. Everything was edible. My expectations were not high, but it was fine for bar food. We asked for 1 take out container, the lid and container were not compatible. Lid had a 4 diameter, container had a 2.5 diameter. The incompetence was infuriating. My suggestion, even if you are staying at the four points Sheraton, eat elsewhere.
Good
For a party, a large group, never easy. A little expensive for the plate. Correct hamburger, no more than $25 phew!
Cheerful staff, personalized service. Food was great and reasonably prices.
Super good! Impeccable service. The new menu is very varied
Excellent food, lovely decor and our server was excellent
Everything was excellent.
Food was delicious
Nope. Service atrocious. Ordered our drinks and food quickly. 15 minutes later we called over our waitress who seemed clueless that we were sitting there with no drinks. I could smell my GF s fajita s and by the time our waitress served them the entire stack was rock solid. She ended up getting the bartender to get her new ones as our waitress went awol for the 3rd time. Food average. Service below the grade of 1/5. Oh typing this while we sit and wait to get our bill. L
Slow service food didn t come for half an hour later And we did half an hour for our bill
Good tasty food, friendly fast service, very comfortable establishment with a really good wine and beer selection: escargots, Caesar salad, chicken Thai wrap
Quiet..at b.fast time...lots of space.. Feel at es ce...lionleb..
I wish I would have taken pictures but I was too hungry. I ordered the Ravioli to go. And I swear to god there was like 8 or 10 pieces of Ravioli in the container...oh and 2 pieces of toasted garlic bread..yeey.. for close to 18$. What a complete gyp that was. Low rating for the price/portion only, it was pretty tasty, then again..I was hungry.
Both items ordered from the menu they were out of.
Food is absolutely delicious. Dinner portions were more than ample. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Service from the kitchen was slow for both dinner and breakfast. This was fine overall for dinner but very inconvenient at breakfast when we were trying to get back on the road. I will be back and will just try to remember to plan for a longer wait.
Don t go
Had free breakfast vouchers to use due to our hotel room above not being cleaned. We were seated at a table promptly but sat for over 15 minutes without even seeing a server come by with coffee or to take an order. The rest or the restaurant was filled with other people also waiting for the staff to come around.
The staff seem to be confused. An evening before they told the breakfast open at 7am, next day when we called at 7 they say it opens at 8. They gave us meat omelette instead of vegetarian one and when we got that replaced (another trip down the elevator), the new omelette had the toast missing. Bad start to our day!
Good breakfast. Good price. Good service. Several cups of coffee!
GOOD
Great quality food and great service.
The onion soup is too salty. Good service but not impressed with the food.
Thank you great food and EXCELLENT service thanks again
Oh lala the famous hamburger
Bring back the original menu
Great food.....fantastic servers!
Fast, courteous service, good food
Delicious food and a relaxing atmosphere!
Best service in town!!
Excellent sea food stir fry. I highly recommend this restaurant. Please note the kitchen closes at 8pm so dont go there later than 7:30 pm
Food was great but service wasnt.
The food is awesome
We went to this restaurant on December 31, 2018. Lise was our waitress. Terrible service, this waitress should not work in the public. Imagine wanting to have a nice evening with family to celebrate and your evening is ruined because of the attitude of the waitress. No smiles or jokes towards his customers. We were served cocktails and 1 hour (or more) later we never saw our waitress at our table again. We had to approach him to tell him we wanted to place our order. After receiving our meal which was never good our waitress came to see if our meal was according to our expectations or if we wanted something else. She came to collect our empty plates. 45 minutes after picking up our plates we were looking for our bill and paying. After all this time without seeing this Lise we had to ask another waitress for our bill. The latter therefore went to look for Lise. She came out of the kitchen and at this point everyone at the table was trying to pay and leave. She came to see us quickly to ask if we wanted anything else, we asked her for the invoice. She left for the bar section, she served all her other tables before us. Everyone from the restaurant had left at this point, all their other tables had paid except us and even this Lise was nowhere to be found. 15 minutes earlier we had asked him for our bill and still nothing. Frustration was mounting. Zero customer service. This experience does not make me want to return to this restaurant and it is certain that I only have bad comments on the service received
If you like eating from the frozen Sysco catalogue, this is your place. Steak, nachos and escargot tasted like a kid with no cooking experience made them.
Great place
Great place for having lunch with clients or business partners during the week and excellent place for evening entertainment and weekend family brunch! Great atmosphere and an excellent menu for the price! Highly recommended. ***Excellent restaurant! A great place for business meals during the week, sometimes singers in the evening and always excellent brunches on weekends.
Food doesn t taste good at all. No flavour, nothing at all. It s way overpriced for what you are getting. I will never go back.
breakfast, lunch and dinner everything is perfect
Very nice place to eat with friends and family
Impeccable service. Burger and fish n chip very good
Stopped in Edmundston for a night with my husband and had the chance to have both dinner and breakfast here. The breakfast was pretty good and very reasonably priced. But the dinner was exceptionally good. I had the seafood fettuccine and it was not only delicious but they were very generous with how much seafood you get. There was also live singers which made the dinner entertaining as well. Overall, great bang for your buck!
Had dinner and breakfast here. The ribs and chicken combo was a bit better than Swiss chalet , but the breakfast was great. Live music at dinner is a nice touch
Great food. Friendly bilingual staff.
A beautiful evening in a beautiful atmosphere. The menu is excellent. A good band, good musical choice. With the waiter, Maxime, courteous and attentive :)
If you like soggy fries and burnt fish. This is the place for you. Doesnt deserve one star.
It s super unpalatable and expensive. The food is served very slowly. After waiting for nearly an hour, the steak and grilled ribs were very unpalatable. By the way, the waiters were very bad. They had to find other customers to help with ordering. It was very ridiculous.
Food is good and the staff are as always really nice.
Good food
Good meal!!!
Wow what a wonderful meal, staff was so nice. If your in the area, eating here is a must.
Had a wonderful dinner at Franks.
Great food selection, good service, nice atmosphere. Only downfall was pop is not refillable haha and theyre $4 a drink
It was ok good restaurant courteous and professional service resonable price nice atmosphere family restaurant
good staff ,good food
Wait times were really long for our food. Also the chicken ramen is not ramen at all. Its chicken soup with spaghetti in it. Also its really expensive for the food you get.
There is a new menu and not much was kept from the old one. I always think its ridiculous not to keep your best seller even if you increase the price. Its a shorter menu and higher price. There is almost no pasta. Even the desserts have change. I took the maple salmon. it was good but expensive for the portion.
Long waiting time. Got 2 portions of scallop and shrimp bruschetta as appetizers - the bread was very dry. For entrees, ordered Fish&Chips, Beef Rib Dip sandwiches, were OK; but Caesar salad with grilled shrimp was not eatable - the salad was at least more than one week old - reddish color. Very disappointed.
Great tasting food for a decent price.
Very nice. Great service, local beer and a wonderful seafood stir fry that was crisp instead of soggy.
I went to eat with a friend..the starter was nachos that tasted nothing..main dish club sandwiches not mangabe..I was very disappointed and they told me that they had changed the menu..ouff I said can put it to bring..I will give to my dog..the old menu was better..
Very good food and entertainment.
Good restaurant. Very good service, polite and courteous. The food is ok but a little expensive for the quality. Fairly limited menu choice.
Did not have for 3 items they had on menu that they had ran out. Server says management does not stock. Food was ok. Not worth the stop!
Im sorry but $ 17 eggs Benedict is bit steep food was way to pricey
Passing though and we stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton Edmundston. Decided to have dinner at the restaurant inside the hotel. Myself and my husband really enjoyed our meal and the customer service was great as well!
It was delioch really good service
Great service, and really delicious.
Very good - excellent service!
Ordered chicken stir fry....tasteless & cold. Totally aweful. Returned, reheated, still aweful. So unflavourfull. No sincere understanding by staff.
The first cheese pesto panini was very tasty and the BBQ chicken was well prepared. Service was excellent. Thanks.
Amazing food and amazing service 10/10 must try....
Got there just as the kitchen was about to close. Waitress went to check whether we were too late or not and luckily came back with the good news. I ordered the garden salad with salmon and chicken (Im filling out nicely) and it was all excellent. The salad was fresh, had lots of veggies, beautiful mixed greens. The oil and vinegar dressing was served on the side as requested. The salmon was succulent, perfectly cooked, and fresh tasting. The chicken breast was seasoned with herbs and not salted, just how I like it. There was a cute guy playing guitar and singing well known songs throughout. Enter through the hotel lobby rather than sneaking in through the door marked exit only or you wont get seated. Ask me how I know.
Excellent guy..
Good service and delicious meal
Delicious craft beer and very nice wait staff.
Great breakfast
Staff was friendly, but service was very very very slow. Pricey for the quality of food as well. Excellent beer choice! Would come back just for a pint and ployes.
Amazing brunch buffet on Sundays! Amazing variety of food including local breakfast favorites ployes. Give them a try with syrup or the preferred butter and brown sugar.
Price is slightly high for what your getting. Waitress was very polite and attentive. Food overall was good. Had several local craft beers on tap! I had a burger and my wife had fish and Chips. Both were alright.
We are staying at Four Points by Sheraton for a night and we just ate supper here a few hours ago. The server we had was absolutely fantastic! He was super attentive and his recommendations were great! Would definitely recommend the spinach artichoke dip!
Great food and I will be back.
Dont order the burgers if you dont want to die. Dont give it to your dog, if you dont want him to choke... ,
Great food service was also great
Nice place good atmosphere good food
Very good food! We are never disappointed when we come to eat here.
Local beers were excellent. The service excellent as well. Food was so-so. The steak was tough but flavour was good. The ribs were a different story. They tasted like unseasoned, boiled meat. Even the barbeque sauce on top couldnt mask the taste.
Pretty tasty - huge portions. Was really busy on a Saturday night and our waitress was really running! Had the fish and chips which were pretty good, not spectacular.
Great food, friendly competent staff. Definitely worth a visit!
Super good restaurant! Seafood casserole is stupid!! BBQ chicken too!
Great meal. Great amount for the price. Friendly waitress
Very decent restaurant downtown Edmundston. Nice wings. Nachos could be better. Good choice of beer. They have poutine off menu with cheddar curd cheese. But the cheese was too cold (only amateur keep curd cheese in refrigerator). Friendly staff. Cheap cocktails.
Its good and the service is lovely
Perfect for an a la carte breakfast...
Good restaurant but slow service.
We stopped by here for dinner after a long day of driving. We had French onion soup, steaming wings, burger and four cheese meat lasagna. The French onion soup and the wings were so salty. we couldn t even consume the soup broth, it was that salty. The burger was overdone and tough. I don t know how to explain the burger meat, but it was weird. The only thing that was good was the lasagna.
One of the best restaurants in town
Usually there is good service, but not this time. Worst service I have ever got... I went a few times, but everytime either the recipies are somewhat different which means you never really get the same meal twice... Can be bad or better... Never know... But this time food was ok, but waitress was no where near helpful... 3 out of 10 visits its good.
Good service and the food was ok.
Burger was dry. Chicken Stir Fry very good
Not great not bad, my plate was not good but my sister liked her so did my mom
Best spot in town. Great breakfast for a long day on the road
Good food good service
Great food. Hotel bar and restaurant open to the public. Small selection of local and imported beers.
The food is good but the service left us with a bitter taste.
Just average for the price
The food was pretty good, although the gluten free bread offered for breakfast was a hamburger bun... We stopped in here before getting back on the road to our final destination. We were in comfy road tripping clothes which may have been why the wait staff didnt seem to care much for our presence. The hotel and restaurant are both very nicely appointed so my assumption was that my t-shirt and jeans made me look like someone without enough money to eat there. With only two waitresses working, it was hard enough to get their attention just to pay our bill and leave. Well be stopping in again for dinner in a few days and hopefully have better service. Update: the dinner staff was certainly more friendly than the breakfast staff from few days ago. The food was ok, but not as great as some of these reviews would have us believe. My burger was a little dry and my wifes nachos were not very tasty. Service was slow as others have pointed out and we got out of there before the live music showed up. Fridays are very busy so make a reservation if youre planning to go.
Good food good staff will do beyond for your satisfaction! Friday nights are the best with live music
The best restaurant
Great
Great food nice place
