Breakfast all day following business hours
I am an owner of a food truck ! Never would i treat my customers like i was treated today ! The lady in the front on cash was awsome . But the cook in the back needs to learn some customer service skills . I didnt get my $1.00 gravy she said i did. Well i didnt but i can pay again for the $1.00 gray no problem . Well she took the gray and slid it across the counter and said i put it in the box ! Making me feel like an idiot over $1.00 gravy . I am sorry i wont be back. I travel alot and heard good things about the food . The food is awesome . But the lady in the back is RUDE AND LOUD !!!
Good food and service, a little expensive bit worth trying
Cute little restaurant spot! Had a simple yet delicious breakfast: Eggs over easy, toast, sausages and orange juice. Definitely recommend!
We have been coming to this restaurant for a few years now, but we were very disappointed for the first time yesterday. We arrived at 7:35 PM, and the restaurant closes at 8:00 PM. We received a very poor reception from the cashier, who made us feel uncomfortable about ordering despite the restaurant still being open for another 25 minutes. The cashier pressured the customers and complained in front of us.
If you like your lobster taken out the freezer then microwaved for a roll then you'll love this place, reasonably priced but not the greatest either, used to be so much better.
If you’re on your way to the East Coast of Canada, you are doing yourself a disservice if you do not stop to eat at this restaurant. For us, it was the first taste of what was to come on our east coast trip, and proved to be better than many “fine” establishments we ate at on the east coast. The lobster roll is delicious, and getting it with the fries is well worth it. My friend had the lobster club and really enjoyed it. I also got the seafood chowder which was amazing: a little cheesy, packed full of fresh seafood and vegetables and perfectly cooked potatoes. The prices are extremely reasonable for what you get! Don’t eat at Tim’s or Subway, eat HERE!
We arrived in Edmunston after 4 pm. The tourist bureau suggested The Pirate as the place for lobster. We had really good chowder and a lobster roll with fries both were excellent choices! Thanks
Awesome Lobster rolls, good prices, and great poutine. They also have hamburgers, breakfasts, and other seafood snacks. The restaurant is located in a truck stop, there are many seats available inside.
This restaurant runs on Bankers hours. When you think they are open they are closed you think they are closed its open?!?
As a truck driver i stop here everytime i come this way for fish and chips...came in a little late today at 750 to order and the cashier refused to take my order ssaying they are closing in 10min..10 mins is still 10mins, will not be stopping here again.
Opens at 11 no sign saying closed 2 people working and nobody had the decency to say that they were closed until 11 very rude do not recommend
The lobster rolls are excellent and very good value for money. For lobster roll fans passing by, a stop is worth it. Parking: This is a Truck stop, so there are plenty of places.
Super cool
Good food, good service.
Very good whole fried clams, can be hard to find a seat during busy times and they charge 4$ for a fountain drink.
Expensive, even for a gas station restaurant. But amazingly fresh seafood - a must-go if youre needing your lobster fix!
Huge chunks of lobster in the lobster rolls. Its the real deal.
Fast and efficient! Delicious lobster rolls ($15 + tax each).
We stopped for lunch at Tim and saw this restaurant. Since were not from the area, we know were going to try. We had 2 lobster omelettes. On the sign it said $11.99 for an omelette and below that $17.99 with lobster meat. But in the end for 2 plates of omelette with lobster meat $74!!! Well lets see! How $17.99 x2 gives $74 and it s still fast food. Frozen breakfast potatoes, canned mushrooms, eggs and a few pieces of lobster!!! It s a real steal!! I dont recommend this place at all!
Dont be fooled by the looks, the food is great. At a truckstop location beside a Timmys and washroom restaurant area. Has its own tables and booths. Ordered lobster rolls and fish and chips. Lobster rolls had a generous portion of big chucks of lobster and the bun was toasted with butter (very good) Fish and chips looked standard, except i didnt expect the texture to be so meaty. A+ Additional notes: the dill tartar sauce was a star and the coleslaw was goos!
A great little gem for getting heaps of great food. We always stop here for lunch when we drive through from Ontario to New Brunswick.
For a Seafood fast food restaurant, they seem to have more non-seafood items on the menu than seafood items. Half the seafood items they do have on the menu are out of stock. No crab rangoons, again, I guess. The eating area is clean and they do ask for the Covid passport if eating in, which is good. I, also, was a victim of over charging. Even though I dined in, they charged me $2 for the takeout container my poutine came in. Dont expect to eat here for under $20 per person. I ordered a large poutine and 4 chicken nuggets (because the rangoons werent available) and it cost me $23 with a $5 tip, that the cashier promptly asked for when I placed my order. The food was good, though. They do have the best poutine in Edmundston, right now. It was plentiful but they have a long way to go on pricing before they become a competitive fast food restaurant. Maybe they should be labelled as a seafood cantine.
The lobster rolls were good! Seafood chowder was a bit too salty but flavour was good. Service was fast.
Very disappointing for value for money. Very little lobster in the $20 salad. Clam chouder was correct. If you want to live a lobster experience dont go there.
Excellent lobster roll - heavy on the lobster, light on the Mayo
I m a truck driver; I ve been all over both countries. I ve never said this about a restaurant in a truck stop: I have yet to have anything I didn t like here. Lobster poutine, breakfast doesn t matter; I ve liked it all.
This is the second time Ive been there this year and its the second time the order was wrong. I asked for a Lobster roll snack (roll with fries). After 15 minutes, a Lobster roll arrived without fries. The young lady tells me that I didnt ask for fries. Well, she didnt understand what I wanted. No problem . I ask for a fries.... She asks me $7.00. The roll alone is $15.99, the Lobster roll snack is $17.49. I refused the fries and left. Look at your bills. It always has an overload. My roll was very good however $18.36 for a hot dog bun and a few pieces of lobster that I went to get.... Never again.
The food is really good. I highly recommend eating here it is really fast service and really good food.
Hamburger steak platter was delicious. Plus I tried my Grandsons Cole Slaw & really enjoyed it because it wasnt too vinegery or sweet. Carol
Decent food good staff, cafeteria style dining
We ordred fish and chips. It was well cooked and tasted good.
Poutine is the best in town!!
What you have of all in this place too.
The Pirate restaurant at the Gray Rock Truck Stop can not care about the truck driver that stop here cause I am one of those drivers and went I try to place an order for my supper I was told sorry but we got behind and are not taking more orders. All I can say about this is that the truck stop would be better served my having a subways shop in it place or a better restaurant
Good
I got the lobster poutine here and it has to be one of the worst things I ve ever tried to eat. The fries were stale, there wasn t much lobster and the gravy was more like a flavourless sludge. It cost $23 too! After a couple bites, I had no choice but to throw it out.
Kid-friendliness: Love it
Always my stop to eat. Everything is delicious. Awesome poutine. Food
Good clean fish and chips!!!
A standard American dime.
Great breakfast!
Great food
Good seafood!
Excellent fish, home cut fries but the two employees working at 4pm today (May 20) were outstanding
Very good, good atmosphere I recommend!!!
Stopped their yesterday on the way back to Ontario I ordered the deep fried clams for my Husband and with 3 1/2 hours he pulled over at one of the rest stops and spent the next three hours in and out of the bathroom Bring violently I ll before he was well enough to get back in the vehicle so I could finish the drive.
Everyone reacted in horror when I said I got a lobster roll from a gas station for 14 USD, but it was a great lobster roll. Service was slow, but cheapest quality lobster roll ever.
The best lobster rolls at an affordable price.
Food was great.
Amazing food and service
Overpriced food, slow service.
I really liked the service and the food. Seafood for not too much money!
Good food
The lobster rolls are on point. Not what what youd expect from basically a truck stop. Food
Parking: Ample Food
We learn a lot about potatoes and the canteen is exceptional and very affordable.
Good but very expensive $33 for two small lobster hot dogs
Great service! Wow! So kind!
I ate the Lobster roll and it was really delicious.
Very good food, large portion. Very busy location. The girl Manning the cash and bagging the orders is amazing.
Expensive but good
On the expensive side. Wont be getting the chowder again for sure but the deep fried clams were good.
Great fast service... Atmosphere was good for a truck stop
Good lobster roll. Parking: Lots of parking. Food : 3/5 |
Great Lobster roll a bit pricey at $34.50 for 2 rolls. Prices on sign weren t correct for what we were charged. Still a reasonable price for two lobster rolls that were good. Don t get fresh lobster like that living in Ontario everyday.
I ordered 2 lobster rolls @$30.00 and I was charged $34.49. Yet it says $29.99 on the menu and they didnt want to refund me. They say that taxes are included but this is false because they must indicate to consumers the amount of taxes that you pay (it is a duty) on your invoice (rebate of the H.S.T. For businesses). Bad pricing information. A very sneaky way for the owner to put tax money directly into their pockets.
Pricey for what we had...fast seafood.
Best lobster rolls in Edmundston! Dont let the location deter you, the service is top notch and the made to order food is authentic and delicious!!
Lobster fast food, so awesome
Best lobster roll I ever had service friendly and fast!
Delicious lobster club sandwich at a good price.
The chowder and lobster rolls were very tasty and the portions generous
I believe this place is on Reserve land which is cool...so why is everyone lo9king at me like I got 2 heads anyway...I feel the young person at counter was annoyed because I didnt speak French and she picked at her face as she took my order...And the clams and strips and fries were toooooooooo oily... sorry...for that reason, Im out!
Always worth the stop. The scallops are delicious!
I thought it s a Seafood restaurant. Sorted their fish and chips. They served frozen fish was tasteless and bland and way too expensive. I only enjoyed their fries which were frozen again. not worth it I thought it was a seafood restaurant. I tried their fish and chips. They serve frozen fish that is tasteless, bland and way overpriced. I only enjoyed their fries which were frozen again. Its not worth it
So I was staying nearby and decided to grab one of their Lobster rolls which seemed popular online. The reviews is only for their lobster roll snack which came in at 20 dollars including taxes. The fries were really crisp and fresh but the lobster roll itself was less than average and certainly not worth the hype.
I like their fries which are crispy and have a strong taste,
Very disappointed with the food here.
I had the Lobster poutine. It was barely warm, with a tasteless sauce that had maybe a ounce of what looked like lobster and didnt taste anything. Very disappointed! The whole belly claims were good. For everything it cost $42.00 and small bottle of coke cost $3.74.
Fast service. Seafood fast foods.delicious
This is the best gas station lobster you will ever have since you likely have never had that and never would normally. The claim chowder was to die for and so was the lobster roll. Give it a try!!
Best lobster rolls ever!
Absolutely tasteless, dont waste your money. French fries was ok.
Still the best lobster roll Ive had to date in New Brunswick!!! Stop and fill both your tanks!!!!
First lobster roll for the trip-had classic, all dressed and garlic butter-11 dayse after Atlantic trip, had to go back before leaving. Delicious and best price so far!
Fast, efficient and tasty!! Convenient location for travellers.
Simple, quick and good!
Best lobster rolls around - generous serving of real big chunks of lobster meat. Yum
Idk I was kinda disappointed. With tax and a small tip, $20 for a small lobster roll on a hot dog bun. Even the all dressed one didnt have much flavor to it I found.
Very disappointed with the quality of service and the quantity of the meal, I go there often but this time is the last I asked why we dont have enough fries the lady in front told me that its the normal portion because they ran out of them and the order of fries only comes in on Thursday. I regret not leaving him his dish on his counter, I paid full price plus tips even though it s not worth it.
We were robbed on the high seas!!! The old restaurant had much larger portions for the money!! Food was good although portion size small. They are taking on water and beginning to sink!
Visited Edmundston over the weekend and found The Pirate. Great little place, located in the Truck Stop. Staff were super friendly, but the prices were a little high for Truck Stop food! The food tasted great which certainly softens the price a little.
At a roadside restaurant, I enjoyed the lobster poutine...
The Pirate restaurant is wedge between a Tim Horton and a gas/convenience store, so during the day, it is busy. Had to wait a few minutes before I could order (theres a queue). Went there hoping to get cooked lobster to bring back home, but The Pirate restaurant stopped selling cooked lobster since last year maybe because of covid. Ordered the lobster roll and fried clam strips for the kids. We sat with other customers from Tim Horton as theres no dedicated section for customers of The Pirate. The kids said the lobster roll were bland, just some mayonnaise taste and thats it. But they loved the fried clam strip. The people in Edmundston are very nice and friendly, will go back and visit again in the future. Hopefully The Pirate will restart selling cooked lobsters again.
very very disappointed 29.99 for 2 dry and bland lobster rolls and garlic sauce which tasted nothing but fat the two who were in the kitchen not very well taken care of with an absent beard and not very well taken care of appearance and very dirty work linen last time I ate the very mega disappointed
Great food and services
Always great fish & chips.
The food is excellent, seafood and lunches. The atmosphere is more fast food and a little noisy but its worth it for the rolls.
Really good price lobster. Really good lobster poutine and lobster roll . I would really recomend this place if you want to go to a good lobster restaurant in Edmunston.
Amazing service, delicious food. I recommend the lobster roll, the fish burger and the fish and chips. They were nice to accomodate us even though they were about to close. A must stop for all travelers!
Fresh and delicious products. Summer 2021 update: prices have risen significantly. I completely understand, but I will come much less often.
Best lobster rolls in NB
We re looking for a Tim Horton s breakfast on our way from Rivière du Loup to Amherst and saw this place. The line up at Timmys was long so we thought we d give it a chance. So happy we did. We all had omelettes and they were awesome. The server was friendly and joked with us. The coffee was almost as good as Timmys and the omelettes came with toast and hashbrowns. They were a good size and fuelled us for the day. I d recommend it for sure. It didn t take much longer than it would have if we were waiting for Tim Hortons and was much better.
Our place to eat on the way to southern NB... Delicious!!
Big portion for the price. Good snack on the road served quickly.
The best lobster roll ever. Simply DELICIOUS!!! It s worth the detour, I guarantee it.
Seafood looked amazing in pictures but ended up getting overcharged with my order. Got something I didnt ask for and didnt want, had thought it was just their taxes. Be careful with your orders.
Situated between a truck rest and a Tim Hortons, this spot offers something a little different while on the road. A lobster poutine in particular! Shared seating with the coffee shop, but not as busy so no line really.
Super
Fish n Chips
great good food.
Delicious, lots of lobster in the sandwiches, but very expensive
Great spot to fuel up before hitting the road to MTL. Tax exempt for FN. The food was decent. I got a chicken poutine. Will definitely come back again when Im in the neighborhood.
Great food, but very expensive. Their specialty is mainly seafood. Ambiance is like a typical fast food restaurant.
It was really good and they have a lot of seafood. You get what you pay for! I advise everyone!
Nice place
Best place in town for good, very fresh seafood
I first stopped here on a trip through to visit family, and made sure to stop there again on the way back. Its right off the highway at the gas station, but offers some different quick food options than the usual chain fast food places. There are lots of seafood options, but it youre not into seafood theres also chicken options and poutine. Good food, and moderately priced.
Excellent food and service
Lobster salad was excellent
Good food
Ive had better
Very delicious food !!!!!
Amazing food great service!!
its the unknown
Very good poutine with fresh cheese and sufficient quantity. Good value for money
Still as good a lobster roll
Tried to order from them. Called 4 different times. No answer. They just pick up the phone and hang up. Thats terrible customer service
Efficient... courteOUS...seafood id amazing
Good start
Friendly staff, excellent quality fish. Recommended!!! (^:
good service
The service was fast and courteous. The lobster roll contains a lot of lobster meat and thats what you want!
Delicious for a quick restaurant!
Lovely place
Aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhhhhhh
Lobster rolls were very good.
The worst poutine Ive ever had. Popular truck stop and cheap but anywhere else would be better.
Good food. Great location
Very good seafood for a fast food restaurant
Excellent lunch
Best lobster roll on the highway!
Live their lobster rolls.
Best for its lobster rolls
Fantastic,... great price too, a must go to
Good company good practices
The best seafood soup in New Brunswick
Really great and great price!
Easy access , clean and great staff. Should be able to use points card though
Service is the worst.
A seafood McDonalds. Its expensive, no taste and minimal portion.
To expensive for the food you get!! Not like it was when it opened
Great seafood for an excellent price
