I ordered a lobster and shrimp roll with seasoned chips, but the food tasted spoiled. It was a disappointing experience, and I will not be returning. The food quality was unacceptable, and I cannot recommend this place. To make matters worse, despite being a party of only two, we were charged a 20% service fee after expressing concerns about the freshness of the food and requesting the check.
Cruise stop. Staff very friendly. Food overall is standard, prices a bit high, but it's touristy with a beautiful view. Shared the Jerk Chicken tacos, good flavor, and the Cocnut Shrimp. They were very good, not overcooked. A food a bit salty, but that's normal here. We didn't have any alcoholic drinks, but they looked good.
Gorgeous views Ordered two frozen drinks from bar Refreshing! Friendly staff
The drinks are strong!! The food is good with the drinks!! Our waitress Nia was pretty cool!!
If you aren't from the area, do not try to drive to this restaurant at night. It is an extremely steep winding road to get to the top. The road isn't just poorly lit. It isn't lit AT ALL. This is a dangerous trek in dry conditions, so don't even think about it if the roads are wet. The food was ok. I had the lobster bisque, short ribs of beef / shrimp, and grits. It was seasoned nicely. The shrimp were tough to chew. They were overcooked. My date had the fried snapper. She liked the flavors. If you want merlot with your meal, you have to buy the whole bottle, you can not have a glass. The service was exceptional, and if the staff wasn't so incredible, the meal would not be worth the cost.
The view and the staff at this place is what really makes it pop. The food is standard pub faire but a little better quality. The (adult) drinks are stellar. And of course the ride to get to this place is quite fun as well.
I guess it’s a tourist trap, so don’t expect any service. Most of the staff were lost and don’t know what they were doing. Should have trained better their employees. The food is edible- the plantain was tasty and smoothie tastes just ice- not much syrup or flavour has been added. Well, mostly came for the view. Bring your own drinks and snack next time.
5 stars warred on food, service , and ambience. The only lack is parking! It’s best to be taxied as parking is limited. The view from your dining table is quite beguiling as it overlooks the harbor in the capital. Prefect spot for date night , family celebration, girls night out! The service is consistently exemplary and the food quality is delectable and flavorsome. Steakhouse with great fish 🌹Premium dining experience.
Staff was so unfriendly. Left quickly. Manager screamed at my husband for trying to turn on a fan after our waitress had said it was ok.
Our chips salsa had mold in it
I just grabbed a couple of beers here, but the staff/bartender was very kind.
Decent food and ok service
queso is just canned fake cheddar cheese. Price is ridiculously high even for Island Prices. Chips in the Duo were stale. Charged full price for loaded fries that we asked for with out the beef. No mention or post anywhere about the $100.00 service charge. Dont waste money eating there wh en there are better places at the bottom.
Please do not waste your time with this place. Went there as one of the stops in our cruise and we had the worst experience ever. I am a disabled veteran who needs a cane to walk, we never been to this place so we do not know how the process to order food is, after waiting for a while for someone to take our order at one of the tables my wife decides to go to the bar to place our order, so I stayed sitting at our table and one of the waitresses told me that I needed to get out. I explained to her what was happening and she said that whatever order was placed at the bar needed to be consumed at the bar. She didnt cared even after I told her that we waited and nobody came and that I am a disabled person. So I go to the bar to check on my wife and the bartender then tells me that I have to move out of the line, and I am just standing next to my wife and he sees me walking with a cane. These people dont care about ppl with disabilities and they sure do not know how to treat costumers and tourists. Some ppl at the cruise also had a bad experience at this place. We travel regularly and this place is definitely in our no to visit again list. This is just bad business.
The food is not bad. It is not cheap. The service is fine... They take a while... But the view is priceless, really. Very beautiful. Getting there is relatively easy. You pay the entrance to the cable car and go up from there.
The Coors lights were nice and cold. The nachos were ok, but the service was great. Shay our waitress was excellent and.friendly! The bush whacker drinks were good, need to try one at least.
While the view is beautiful and the food prices are reasonable, the service and food could use improvement. The server was very unfriendly and not personable. She rushed our order. They have an 18% gratuity automatically added to your bill so that s possibly why the service is mediocre. The server went to go collect our empty places and dropped one of the baskets back on the table, almost spilling it on one of our family members. They were out of lobster fritters. The nachos barely had any queso on them. We got the jerk chicken dip and it was good and had the right amount of heat which was a plus. Other than the jerk chicken dip and the view and reasonable pricing, we were not impressed and it would not be a place we d eat at again.
Very busy, but good food and snacks. Drinks were well made, and the view is amazing
Beautiful open air restaurant at the top of the St Thomas skyride. We had an excellent server that was attentive and answered all of our questions perfectly! Drinks were not watered down and very delicious. Highly recommend the bushwacker! Food was hot fresh and tasty.
Tim and Candy were awesome, made our groups day! Food was reasonably priced, drinks were yummy!
Great bar at the top of the island.Good food good service, phenomenal view!
Great views Good service and food Food
The food was great and the waitress was very fun!
This place has wonderful view but it s just a tourist trap. The island can do better but they can t. They are missing all the way customers services. Waitress was nasty with my group of 7 we were ready to spend the whole afternoon and we were ready to order big lunch for all of us but the issues started when waitress give us wrong drinks, didn t even apologize or change the drinks all the service was wrong , server didn t even give napkins or just service because they are so sure tourist will spend anyway
The food was terrible and overpriced, the drinks were mediocre, not bad by any means but again, overpriced for what you get.
Tourist trap! Beware. Server overcharged us and the manager threatened to call the police b/c we asked for item we did not order to be removed from the bill. lol! His words you are in the U.S. Virgin Islands . Being a US citizen, his words were laughable
The server, who was not friendly, took so long to come back to take our order that we ended up just leaving. Also the workers in the gift shops above are very rude as well. The only thing good is the view, which is fantastic.
Don t go here if you want service (food or drinks) asked the bartender for help after waiting 10 min , didn t get a drink for 30 mins after and it wasn t that busy
The food is mediocre at best, but the view is spectacular! There is no breakfast or brunch menu, and no coffee, be prepared to start your day with an alcohol infused lunch. Food
$133 for 2 plain burgers, 1 (pitiful!) lobster roll, order of plantains and 2 drinks. Beautiful view, not very clean.
Excellent food and serviced
$6 for a hot root beer and $15 for bad nachos. Come for the view, stay away from the food.
Very expensive but brilliant views
The chair broke, and my husband fell on the concrete floor. Management came to take a report and pictures. They were very nice. Husband s elbow is sore but we think it will okay. We won t know until later. Our bill was $80 plus tip. I was surprised they didn t comp the check. The food was subpar. The bushwacker was super!
Beautiful view
Very accommodating, nice staff and very nice view.
Fairly disinterested staff. When a number of gondolas come up, a man shouts loudly to the staff: typical. Food not very special, view beautiful.
Have a drink and skip the food. This was the most unappetizing thing I ve ever had and all I ordered was an appetizer (lobster fritters). There wasn t even a piece of lobster in any of it and the breading itself was gross. The bushwhacker was good though.
Such a wonderful experience. We took the air tram up at 9am. Arrived in Paradise had drinks, ordered Shrimp and lobster Roll and the cheeseburger. They were both so delicious. Shay was the sweetest most attentive waitress. This has been the best breakfast/lunch my daughter and I have had all week. We sat at the table and enjoyed the view for hours!! Love this place.
Lobster & Shrimp roll was terrible too salty, Chips and salsa also terrible not warmed and tiny amount for $9.00. Fries were luke warm and not salted. Loaded fries $10 were a tiny portion. They were out of the Lobster Fritters which is what we wanted to try. Drinks were your average nothing special. Save your cash and just grab a soft drink or beer. 18% gratuity is added automatically to your bill. Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs
Great views! Friendly staff.
The view was breathtaking. I got the loaded fries which were $14 and decent overall.
02.21.2023 We drove up to Paradise Point Lookout to help waste some time before our flight! Beautiful views and amazing breeze from the restaurant. We ordered the hummus with chips & veggies...we werent impressed...very plain and small serving (about 3 ounces). We ordered the Plantains which were actually very good...fried perfectly and drizzled with yummy honey. In addition we also ordered their almost famous lobster roll...we were left disappointed...very little lobster. Parking: Free Wheelchair accessibility: Flat and easy to get around with any limitation you may have.
Views were absolutely incredible. Food was subpar at best. Paid $90 for 2 drinks that cost $8 each, chips and queso that was $8 and 2 burgers that were $16 each. They brought us two bottles of water that we did not ask for and we had to pay for at $3 a piece. Also added fries to our plates that we did not ask for and we were charged an extra $8 for that also. When the bill was pointed out to the waiter, there was no action to try to correct it other than a lousy careless sorry . Also be aware of the 18% service charge. Needless to say that was their tip. DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!! on the tram ride down there was people in our car that said they never even got their food. They had to leave to get back to the ship.
Banana daiquiri was delicious, but the food is extremely poor quality and expensive for what you get. Great views.
Amazing food and the atmosphere is crazy
Great place to visit while on a cruise we had a great time thank you Kid-friendliness: Everyone was very friendly and treated my little girl like family Food : 5/5 |
Cold food, slow service, not worth the prices in the least
Try the bushwacker! Outstanding views, great atmosphere. Prices were high as expected, but I am put off by a significant surprise service fee on the bill. Servers were inattentive despite the place not being crowded.
Food was ok. Nothing outstanding. Pina colada was good but if your are there for the views you wont be disappointed.
Staff very nice and professional! I arrived to late for food but drinks were good and priced better than many other areas. The view is perfect and you cant get anything better, without sitting on the water to watch the sunset!
Carl, Lovar & the rest of the staff were the best. Great views and drinks.
Maria was so amazing and hospitable! We stayed here for a couple hours just soaking in the views, amazing locals, and the gift shop, Silver Nook at Paradise Point. Highly recommend to check them all out and I ll be back for the steakhouse when I come back soon! Next time we come back we will make sure Maria is there we love her! Thank you!! Also by the way the Bushwhacker is a legit drink to enjoy sitting on top of the world here!
This was my first trip up to paradise point and the views obviously never disappoint. The service and delicious food at Taste was the icing on my cake! Maria was attentive and had the most happy attitude for our entire visit in the restaurant! Drinks were also yummy as recommended we had the baileys bushwhacker and enjoyed every sip! What an exceptional way to end my trip!
The lobster and shrimp roll was very lacking in anything that resembled lobster. Shrimp was frozen. Fritters were just that..no lobster flavor. Service was very poor, had to hunt down servers for a drink, for a menu, for ordering and even for paying. Glad it wasnt busy!
Come for the drinks and view. Pass on the food. Sit anywhere and someone will come to assist you. Ordered the Caribbean Lobster & Shrimp Roll and the Shrimp Grilled Skewers. Both shrimp were over done and dry. Bread roll was hard and stale. Timely service. Our server checked up on us a few times
Paid to ride the sky tram up to see the view. Apparently even though it was 9 in the morning and there was only one table taken, the rest were reserved for the invisible people wanting to buy alcohol. There was no where else available to sit. Ruined the whole experience.. only alcoholics want to get drunk at 9am. NOT AT ALL FAMILY FRIENDLY. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!
Horrible service Way over priced. They take advantage of the tourists. Eat somewhere else.
Had a great lunch atop paradise point at Taste. Phenomenal views and service.
Great service, delicious conch fritters and INSANE views!! This was a great place to grab lunch and enjoy the island views while sipping on a cold beer. Highly recommend
Food was good and the drinks were wonderful
Views are spectacular! Service is good but noone checked after food delivery. The lobster fritters were burnt but by the time the waitress checked she just said sorry and moved on. The bushwacker was a great drink. Come for the views and hope for food service to care what they cook.
Dont think they actually put alcohol in the drinks, nice view tho.
View was beautiful, first waiter was angry we were there got our order wrong Maria took over as waiter and was awesome!
Scam they charge you extra after you leave my bill was $152.00 after 3 days they charged a extra $30
Worst service on the island. Good view though.
I wish I could give this place a negative 0!! HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!! Thank the Gods they have a beautiful view, or this sad excuse for a restaurant should be closed down.
This was my husband and my FAVORITE. We were only in Saint Thomas a week and made sure to visit the restraunt twice we loved it so much. The view is incredible and the food was AMAZING as well. I honestly was so shocked when I saw these other reviews. We had incredible service and such a great time!
Well, I cant speak for all the 1 star reviews here, but we came here instead of Prime. Im glad we did. We had a great sunset view. They put plenty of alcohol in the Bushwacker (you probably get more booze per $ in that one drink than you do anywhere else on the island). We had some delicious skewers and a lobster sandwich. Our service was fine. Compared with some other restaurants we have eaten at during our stay at St. Thomas, Taste offers good value for the money.
Overpriced terrible food and rude. View was beautiful but not worth the ticket. Hardly any shops open at the top. Drinks were alright. Good enough but the chips and queso was like 5 chips and some cheese sauce, hummus, and salsa in the tiniest plastic cups, burgers were over cooked and dry, and lobster roll sandwhich was almost uneatable.
My party ordered two burgers well done. Both came out pink with mushy meat and very undercooked. My son had already taken one bite out of his when we realized. They put his burger with a bite and spit out back on the grill where they cook other peoples food. RUDE waitress. Small menu. Literally nothing good about this place. Highly DO NOT recommend.
