I recently visited GLB, hoping for a variety of options, but left feeling a bit disappointed. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff was friendly but if you re looking for a wider variety I d recommend trying elsewhere.

Enjoyed some delicious beer on the patio with some tasty snacks. Very reasonable prices for everything and super-friendly staff. We had the summer ale to drink, enjoyed with corn dogs and foccacia.

Great afternoon at their Easter craft show event. Good food, great beer!

An extremely hospitable team is always welcoming every time we stop by, either on a planned outing or a spur of the moment why not, were in the area pint. Great set of core beers, and a solid offering of seasonal brews. More and more events are taking place here, so always check their social media to see what kind of fun events are happening.

Classic Toronto craft brewery keeps churning out great new brews (while keeping favourites alive). These are brewers who know what theyre doing when when they get their hands on new hops and new yeasts. Great folks, good citizens, friendly staff. Consistently high quality. Their delivery service is quick and reliable. Ive been a fan since the days of Crazy Canuck, and have fond memories of emptying shelves of their Winter Ale at my LCBO.

Lousy management who at times a go on power trips and are rude to customers. They call themselves a Brew Pub but they manage it as a nursery school. Forget about telling jokes, Troy has no sense of humour.

Was looking to get a keg for Canada Day weekend. GLB make it as easy as it gets. Pickup was easy and they helped load the keg. Others in our group had tried calling other local breweries and even the beer store and got no where. 100% would order with GLB again.

Stop saying you deliver to Scarborough when you dont deliver to all of Scarborough. Scarborough north of the 401 has a population of more than 200k! Very frustrating that you deliver all the way to Stoney Creek (population 12k) but not all of Toronto.

Excellent service and great selection of beer/alcoholic beverages and a neat little merch section too! They have a small patio as well to sample some beer too. Reasonably priced and delicious booze. We go out of our way to grab some cases every year!

Five stars for the staff alone. Amazing. Welcoming, kind, helpful, 100% on top of everything. The space is a bit unassuming when pulling up.. but turned out to have a great patio space and small ish but cozy taproom. The brews were fantastic. Tasty, balanced, just the right hoppiness. Im a fan. Well done GLB.

Great Beer.

Great beer and outstanding price on their Premium Lager. Local, craft brewed beer, pack of 24 TALL cans was an even better price than the sickness inducing macro brewed sludge (Budweiser, PBR, etc) that you have to pickup yourself from the filth pile they call The Beer Store. Ive deducted 1 star only because I had to meet their delivery driver at the ground floor of my building in the middle of a webcam meeting for work. And she wasnt even very polite about it to be honest. This would have been fine if there had been any mention about drivers not entering buildings during the ordering process or even afterwards. It only came up after the driver had arrived. Still... all things considered, well worth the order.

GLB has been our go-to Brewery throughout the pandemic. Almost (who am i kidding) weekly visits to sample their new releases and pick up more of our favourites. Staff are friendly, great with suggestions and help carry my flat of beer to the car. Now that the taps are open (I think a dozen taps!), its nice to do a flight to help with purchases.

Mediocre shop, far from the fashionable neighbourhoods. Be that as it may, GLB offers award winning, authentic craft beer using the best ingredients. Their brewmeisters consistently deliver North American IPA & Pale Ale variations equal to--if not better than many--the premier craft ales dominating North Americas west coast. The legendary Swamp Juice IPA growler series is worth celebrating, the lack of pretension in their carbon monoxidized, industrial locale most fitting. These cats get it right.

Good local brewery and delivers for free with orders over $50. Their original Great Lakes Lager is pretty good and they have an extensive line of other beers for those who like stouts and hoppy beers. Good Covid protocols from this company as well! When I moved to the area years ago I thought this was an over rated brewery, man was I wrong! When I go to the fridge these days for the first beer after a long day for a small reward.. I almost always find myself reaching for a GLB.. probably on IPA or one of their other hoppy treats. I love the way they have handled themselves through the pandemic in the community and appreciate the drop offs with amazing customer service. Hope you get the patio open again soon!

High quality beer for affordable prices run by good people. This is the best brewery in Ontario... and Ive been to a lot of them. Plus theyre constantly adding new limited edition beers that have me going back over and over again! Be sure to follow them on social media for all their new selections. Cant say enough good things about this place, these people and their beer.

We used to drink GLB from the brewery all the time when we lived in Toronto. We wanted to support local companies through COVID, so we were excited to see that you guys delivered out our way. We ve had two deliveries so far, and both drivers have been on time and super friendly. On our last delivery, we were in the backyard with our kids, so we left a note on our door. Sarah, was kind enough to call my cell, so we didn t miss it. Thanks again for the beer!

Way back in the day, this was the place for cheap, terrible kegs. But now is a very different story. They have given themselves a complete makeover in the past half decade. The brewery and space is nice with a cool patio. There is a large variety of beers and they are all great with neat art. And the prices are very fair compared to other toronto breweries. I keep going back!

New review: Came by the place a couple more times since the last review. Havent experienced any long waits. Servers are quick and efficient. Changing 2 stars to 5. Your brews are some of the best in Canada! Old review: Extremely slow service. Only one guy working the bar, the shop counter and the patio and it is a rush hour. 20 mins in and no one even came by the table yet. Beer is good though.

The absolute best craft beer in Toronto is found here at Great Lakes. All their brews are excellent but I especially love Canuck, Burst and Octopus Wants to Fight. GLB are gamechangers in the craft beer world. Great merch too.

Im from Sarnia so Ive never visited GLB brewery yet however I bought alot of their beers from LCBO and Id admit most of the beers I find are more Delicious then most of the breweries here in Sarnia, I look forward to the Pumpkin Ale every fall defiently gets me into the fall spirit and if I ever make it too Toronto Ill be sure to stop by

Had a great visit here today. Got the flight which was a selection of delicious beers. Got to try some special ones like the Beard of Zeus. Absolutely loved it. Great people serving. There is parking available on site. Or its a short walk from the buses on The Queensway.

Man, do I adore this local brewery. To start, they have some of the tastiest beers in the province. If you dont know what you want but your into IPAs go for the Octopus Want To Fight, if your into pale ales try the Canuck Lager. The fact they are the best brewery in Etobicoke makes me love them even more, i can walk over sit on the patio and have a beer & pretzel in just a 15 minute walk, AMAZING. They offer next day delivery which is really convenient for me, and they always deliver the freshest beers. Also, I just got a free beer cup after placing my 5th online order. LOVE GLB & LOVE the customer service. 10/10 for me. The quality & service speaks for itself.

What a great place, amazing product and great value. Incredible selection of different beers, with focus on IPA and different pale ales. My favorite, Canuck but with summer just around the corned Sunnyside is made a strong run for first. Simply amazing.

All I can say is wow. These guys are killing it in the beer market. Create a frenzy by brewing the best IPA ever and selling it out in hours. If you are a competitor learn from these guys. I have become a life time fan of GLB. Quality and service far superior to any brewer. My god this reads like an ad but I speak for all GLB fans, keep it coming guys.

Thought Id update this review in the middle of the pandemic. GLB is still fiercely independent and has remained open to service their customers. Theyve pivoted to home delivery and brewery pickup up. Even though I live outside of the delivery zone I will come down there every few weeks to replace my keg. The staff is as friendly as ever and social distance rules are being applied. They are also doing zoom meet ups to keep everyone engaged. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this brewery. They have actually taken their older kegs (which in my opinion wouldve been good enough to drink) and dumped then because they will not compromise their freshness guarantee. The best part is they made hand sanitizer out of the old kegs and you can buy it on their online shop. I have and its awesome. If youve read this far, then please support Great Lakes Brewery. They dont just know beer, they love beer and by extension their customers. Give them a chance and try them out. My new favourite is Haze Mama and it is worth the drink. Once this pandemic is over I cannot wait to have a beer on their patio. Stay strong GLB! And the one thing I cannot say enough. Support local, GLB had been around for 30+ years, we need breweries like this to be around for many more years. They innovate, push the boundaries and experiment. See Bride of Shucky... The big national breweries dont do that and will never. Try GLBs tank 10 series, you will never be disappointed. For over 30 years great lakes has been a staple in the Toronto craft beer industry (one of the oldest in Toronto). Over the past few months theyve been crushing out some amazing new England style IPAs. Definitely check out their 7 barrel and tank 10 series beers. Super delicious. They also have free local delivery (over $50) and pick up at the brewery.

The bad. I tried the Pumpkin Ale and it was terrible. The good. Frühschoppen German Pilsner was first rate. Service was good. Easy to park as its slightly off the beaten path south of The Queensway. Recommended.

Nice setup with online ordering, curbside pickup... Patio was closed (could be due to weather or increased pandemic requirements) but looks like it would be a nice spot to sit with a pint. Wide variety of cans/draft available. Only 4 stars because patio kitchen was closed, do I couldnt try the food.

Fine beer, good prices. I ve been a regular for a while and thought I d share my experience. On Friday morning I woke up and realized I hadn t ordered the specials that were released the night before. I put in an order for a 24. I was surprised that it arrived the same day. I always wanted to go there and enjoy their awesome patio, but unfortunately its closed due to the circumstances. I decided to go anyways, and I dont regret it. The staff is doing everything to keep us(and them!) safe and they are very knowledgeable. They provided me a lot of tips and helped me pick the right beers.

GLB brews fantastic beers. I feel sad to say I cant support them by purchasing their product due to their negative comments made toward Adamsons BBQ, and thereby the negative support to small business.

We love this place. It s our local brewery. Lately, they ve come up with the Seven Barrel series, and all of the brews have been absolutely delicious. They ve got a lovely tasting room. And an awesome patio. A must visit in Etobicoke!

Went in to order some kegs for an event after hearing good things and was turned away at the door by staff, hours before closing. They had decided to leave early on a weekday and were very clear and blunt in their language. Perhaps because theyre the only place for booze in the area they feel they can act however they want.

If only everything in life was so easy like choosing a beer. Super friendly staff, super good beer, super good deals, super close to home. Cheers!

One of the best breweries in Toronto; especially considering they price their beer far more affordably than most of the local craft breweries. Most cans are under $4 for some pretty great beers. They also have more expensive barrel-aged stuff too if youre into those stronger brews. Recently it seems theyve increased their number of small releases. Every week theres at least one new brew hitting the shelves -- on good weeks maybe even 3 or 4! A rather wide range of beers though they tend to favor the pale ales, stouts/porters and more easy drinking stuff. I dont remember them doing a sour but they do have the occasional saison. Literally my only complaint about this place is that their small releases tend to sell out in under 2 weeks. If you see a beer you want to try do not wait to go grab it. If you ever see them post about only 5 cases left thats usually code for these will be gone in an hour -- theyre one of the few craft breweries around that offer case deals. I appreciate the effort they made recently to make their retail/bar area look more welcoming.

Variety: 4/5 Location: 3/5 Price: 5/5 Beer: 5/5 GLB is one of the great staples of Etobicoke and it consistently crushes. For years, a reasonable complaint about the beer was that it often ripped off California breweries and its selling point was more that it was fresher than, say, Stone, rather than any better. Im pleased to say that it has surpassed that era in history and it is now one of the finest places around. The beer is fantastic, and quite IPA-heavy but in a good way. Its also remarkably cheap, likely because theyve been located where they are for such a long time that most of their capital costs are paid off and their rent is quite low. They could stand to do a few more german-style wheats and marzens and the like, but thats a silly complaint. Probably the only valid complaint is that you cant really access the place except by car, and so youre usually restricted to one, maybe two beers on each visit. I guess they cant do much about that, but just bear in mind its a meh walk through an industrial park to get out.

Delicious beers with a beer for every season

If I had to do it all over again, Id open my own micro brewery. But those days are long gone. So thank God for GLB. The selection was far more than one visit could tame and the service was friendly. If only we didnt have a late lunch, we would have ordered food (which is only available Wednesday to Saturday). We highly recommend the flight. Keep up the great work as well definitely be back to sample more of GLBs creations.
