Speciality Roti always fresh only made when order
Ordered the curry chicken roti for take out and it did not disappoint. Tastes like it was homemade in a Caribbean household it was fresh/chewy and the filling wasn’t too runny which I find with other Roti places. Remember to bring cash.
I love this restaurant! Truly underrated. Come here and see for yourself. I have come here a few times & Everything on the menu is amazing (the oxtail and goat dish as well as the goat roti being my Favorites!) the service is top notch, pleasant woman behind the counter with her only priority being that you leave happy. She clearly makes her food with love. It's fresh and just feels like home!
Do not miss the opportunity to try this place! I am so happy this is close as the roti is 🔥 Cash only, worth the price as the roti is packed with meat! Try the goat, you won’t regret it, and ask for it spicy if you like heat
I tried this place on a whim, despite the street appeal making me wonder what it is exactly. I couldn’t tell if it was a dive bar or restaurant—it turns out it's both. I’m going to come out swinging and say that this is the single greatest roti I've ever had in my life. Try it and thank me later. The roti (bread) itself should be the gold standard (chewy, light, airy), and having tried the chicken, beef, and goat, they're all amazing; the goat stands out as my favorite. The service is amazing and friendly. There is such a kind woman behind the bar, and you can tell she puts a lot of care into making a great dish. The only thing preventing this from being a full five stars (and I do feel bad because the place has amazing food) is the cash-only policy, and the price does seem a bit inflated on the roti; $16 for roti is a bit of stretch given that San Remo is across the street and offers $12 sandwiches that will feed you for a week.
The food was hot and fresh. The roti was nice and soft. The lady working there was very friendly. It felt like I was at somebody's home being served a homemade dinner, which was nice feeling. A bit pricey, but taxes are included and you know...Canadian inflation these days.
I was working in the area and found this place. The owner is very nice. I ordered a goat roti to go and this is probably the best roti I've had ever! The curry and roti was Sooo good, hot and fresh... Check this place out!
Best Authentic Trinidadian 🇹🇹 and Guyanese 🇬🇾 food in the GTA. Literally taste like homemade food. Roti's are made when you place your order (e.g., roti(s) are not made early in the morning or reheated from the freezer. Highly recommended, and respectful suggest you come here over Leela's Roti & Doubles, Debe’s Roti, and Doubles, and Lenas Roti & Doubles. My partner is vegetarian and she loved her meal. They have many vegetarian options as well. No filter or lighting adjustments made to my Curry Goat photo, which btw was AMAZING 💯🔥🙏🏽
Roti's are made from scratch and fresh for each order. Give yourself about twenty minutes for them to be prepared. I arrived early and enjoyed a well priced beer. The goat roti was perfect. Tender, bone-less, and delicious. We ordered two types, one with hot-sauce and one without. Both were winners. Lovely lady working behind the bar/kitchen. Would repeat order!
Fantastic Roti!
The roti from here is wonderful, thank you for the kind service and delicious fresh food!
I gotta say one of the best roti wraps in the GTA that I ever had everything is fresh well worth the drive I will definitely be back but just remember cash only!
Boneless Goat curry roti hits the spot on Canada Day, and I learned from a fellow patron that today is Newfoundland day of remembrance! Makes sense, Newfoundland joined confederation in 1949, after the war! Canada has two unknown soldier memorial sites as a result! Will have to check out the rest of the menu another time! Friendly for sure!
Absolutely amazing, Pam the cook/server/bartender is a woman of many talents along with being so sweet and kind
Mama is amazing
Absolutely fantastic Rotis made by a wonderful friendly lady! What a hidden gem!! After we lost Barb years back from Barbs Roti shop I ve been looking for a place that can compare. Bard made the most awesome jerk chicken rotis and tiger shrimp rotis. Famous comes close!! Definitely stop in if you re in the hood!
Very kind ppl friendly owners.......
Cash only, the owner recommends to call in advance to order for pick up as its made fresh (I didnt know this and had just walked in and waited around ~15 minutes). Ordered the goat roti which was good, and it was was $16 flat
We got the chicken and goat roti for takeout. I was pleasantly surprised at how flavourful the roti was. A bit on the spicier side but very good. The lady who made the rotis was very nice. It s cash only and made fresh to order. I would definitely return.
This place is hidden gem for roti lovers, we tried goat and chicken roti they were so good. So if you planning to go call them to place order in advance as they make fresh. Cash only.
Not for me food is missing something flavor is not there Couldnt eat it Food
The best! Im Addicted to the roti. The hot sauce is the most flavourful Ive ever had. Run by a very nice lady
So good! The roti was made to order and still hot after my 20 minute walk home. The lady who cooked everything was very kind. Cash only.
Called ahead and had a great meal meal waiting for us to bring home.
Excellent Chicken Curry Roti, is made fresh and with a lot of quality, attention and love. You can taste it in every bite. I grabbed a beer on the patio while I waited for take out, there was a couple locals enjoying the sun. I can t wait to be back and try the goat next time
Best goat roti ever!! Menu taste wicked! Food
I ve come to S&S and had the best curry and roti. The best you can find in town
The roti was freshly made. I enjoyed the meal.
Ive eaten so many Rotis at so many Different Roti places in Toronto and abroad this place is so good and so fresh that it left me overwhelmed. It is a no nonsense super friendly place that hides nothing the owner Pam is super lovely and makes all from scratch with loving hands. This great local establishment does not disappoint. Peter
Really great chicken roti! Perfect amount of spice and awesome flavour. Thanks!
Ive been searching for great roti since Barbs and Island Foods both closed. I can stop looking - this is number 1! Dont be deceived by the low-key appearance: the roti were the best Ive had in ages. Goat was remarkably tender and flavorful - must have been cooked low and slow. Roti itself (wrap) was equally done with care. Only thing missing is the Caribbean ocean and air.
Best Roti I`ve had in a long time. Both Chicken and Goat Rotis were great...food was fresh and tasty.
Fantastic spinach & potato roti. Not much gravy but really, nicely spiced and filling. The real deal with a really friendly lady doing the cooking. Make sure to call ahead as the rotis are made fresh-to-order. Not many Caribbean roti places left in the west end, but this ones a standout and one you have to try if youre in the area. Be aware that its cash only and more of an old-school, beer-drinking spot for locals rather than an eat-in restaurant - youll probably want to do takeout if youre with a family.
The jerk chicken was amazing. Very hot
I had the curry chicken roti. The chicken and potatoes filling was delicious. The really impressive part was the soft and fresh flatbread wrap. I have tried roti from other restaurants in the area, and all of their flatbread is dried out, especially in the corners. The roti from here was fresh from edge to edge and I ate the entire thing in one go.
Goat roti was very good. Made while I waited. Cash only. Definitely recommend the roti. The lady who made it was very pleasant.
Must have been a bad day. The service was very slow and very long resulting of parking ticket and the food was quite dry. Was chicken roti. I really looked forward to going there cuz I love roti and a little bit tired of shawarmas but for $15 this was no deal limited gravy and just not a place I would go to again but I will just to see if it improves because theres lots of people who seem to like the food so maybe it was just a bad day for them
Very tasty
I ve had roti s around the city, this place has some of the best chicken & goat roti s. Very flavorful and fresh. Made to order so be sure to call ahead! Also, be aware that it is a cash only establishment.
Over charge in our bill. Caribian food on Lakeshore is better.
Loved the chicken roti. The roti itself was super fresh, probably my favourite part. Would have liked a bit more sauce but Id definitely go back.
Delicious chicken roti!
This place is worth more then 5 stars. The food is absolutely top notch, very friendly and welcoming. Staple of Royal York Rd.
Fantastic goat roti prepared properly while you wait. Good things come
Honestly amazing, Roti s for pickup were made in 30 minutes and they were very flavourful. Perfect size to be filling but not feeling stuffed. I ll be going back and I can t recommend. The owner was incredible kind and I appreciate their time!
Really good roti, a little more gravy needed. Next time i wont split the roti with my girl so i get the full flavor. Ill do an update review then.
Wow!! Amazing Roti s highly recommend this place. Their spicy is SPICY but awesome if you like spicy foods.
My husband & I are visiting Toronto from Florida. We were on the road to go visit family. It was dinnertime and I was craving roti. I searched online for Caribbean Roti Near Me & found this restaurant. I was really looking forward to roti. I called at about 6:30 pm to ensure they were open. The person who answered was very pleasant. She let me know they were closing at 7 pm but I could place an order with her. She would fill the order and I could pick it up when I arrived or thats what I assumed she meant. We hurried and arrived there at about 6:50 pm. I went in and introduced myself explaining I had called 20 minutes earlier. The lady at the counter was the person who answered the phone. She let me know it would take 30 minutes to prepare. That she only made them on the spot. And she only took cash. Its $15 per roti. I ordered 4 so that would be $60. Im traveling and I dont carry cash let alone Canadian cash because most every business now takes debit or credit card. I was disappointed for several reasons. 1. I wish she had clarified her store policy when I called on the phone. In other words, let me know: Even though you called, you will still have a 30 minute wait when you arrive. You will also have to pay cash. It would have saved us the time and effort. 2. I had an appointment with family. As much as I was craving roti, that 30 minute wait was too big a sacrifice to make. 3. I was fine paying $15/roti. But I had a real problem with them only taking cash as payment. I left disappointed and because I was hungry, I was also hangry. We had wasted time to call and then to drive there. At the end of it all, I didnt get the roti.
Was recommended by a friend of mine. I wanted some authentic roti. Unbelievable! I wish I ordered more. Highly recommend if you re looking for authentic roti. I will be back.
First time going to this restaurant and I have to say, it made my Friday that much better. From the moment I stepped in to pick up my order, the owner Pam was a ray of sunshine! Such a sweet woman with a beautiful smile and hearty laugh. I ordered a chicken roti and goat roti. The dhalpuri was made fresh to order. The rotis were saucy, spicy and very flavourful. Fantastic food and great experience start to finish. I can t wait to try what else they have here! Highly recommend
I wanted to bring some goat roti home for my husband on a weekday, so he could have a yummy lunch. So I googled the closest place and crossed my fingers. Was a little worried when I arrived, was a kitchen in an empty bar, but the woman who made the lunch was so nice and welcoming. Husband was very happy, said it was delicious. Score! We would go again, especially if were in the mood for an old school bar. Cash only
Great tasting food, friendly service. Love supporting small local restaurants. We ordered the curry goat and spinach roti - very fresh and flavourful.
This is the place to go for home-cooked West Indian food. The goat and chicken curry was so good.
amazing food, the goat was some of the best Caribbean curry ive had in Toronto and the stew beef tastes just like home. Anyone craving authentic Caribbean food should order from here
I like the food they make and they provide a good service
My Mother and I Used to go here all the Time where their First Location Was At Jane & Trethewey! And I Will Still Mission To Them Since They Moved. unfortunately Mom Passed away in December, But That will never stop me From Coming Here.! This Place Is Family!! <3 Keep Up The Good Work -Emi
Service is nice but the food wasnt that great curry goat was very dry didnt have much flavor oxtail was bland
Great food and the lady working there is an absolute sweetheart and one of the kindest people ever. Would definitely come here again!
Excellent curry goat!
Really delicious, home style roti. Support a local business and try this place out!
THE best veggie roti in Toronto! Packed full of fried spinach with onion, curry potatoes and a soft roti. Call ahead to avoid waiting. A $14 roti is hefty enough for almost 2 meals.
Traveling from Edmonton, we wanted to try some delicious Caribbean style roti. We found this place on Google and boy were we in for a treat. It is a no frills place where locals hang out. Kind of like an old school pub with a pool table. Upon ordering, the older aunty making the food informed us that it will be 15 minutes as she would make the meal from scratch. -Jerk chicken with rice was juicy and succulent and spicy. - curry chicken roti was nice as well. - curry goat was the show stopper, packed with lots of meat and a few potatoes. The roti eas nice and flaky, almost paratha like texture and it held onto all the juices of the goat curry. If we are back in GTA, we will definitely be
excellent place to come and chill have a great time with the perfect blend of music, plus enjoy the excellent food offered every day...ORA
Best roti in etobicoke you have to try it.
Dont miss this place....Ive eaten there many times and their food is truly amazing, great atmosphere and staff !!
Been coming here since I was a little girl and their food is ALWAYS the best and they welcome everyone with open hearts...love them so much!! Homemade is the best!
omg deliciousness! my 2 sons and i went there for their first taste of roti. the roti was made fresh for our order and everything was amazing. incredible comfort food and lovely owner. thank you - we will be back!
Just saw a sign outside this place while walking by and ordered the goat roti and brought it home. It was delicious! The goat was so tender and flavorful! Even my husband who doesnt like curry loved it. The lady at the restaurant was very nice too! UPDATE! Also tried the oxtail, stew beef roti and the wings! Everything is delicious!
I really enjoy roti and this is our favourite spot to go when we are in Etobicoke. The owner is very friendly and loves to make sure the food is as good as it can be. Its been great every time! Great atmosphere. The regulars are friendly and you just feel you are among friends when there.
excellent food money worth
Best roti in Etobicoke, always fresh and hot
I wish I knew about this hidden gem years ago. Food is authentic and delishish. The owner has a beautiful soul and you can tell she has a passion for food and life. Best tender goat I have had in a very long time. I will definitely be making this a regular stop when I have a craving for West Indies Carribean flavors.
Great place really nice food cannot complain at all I eat there four days a week so is my family and friends
The food here is excellent. The roti was a bit different than expected. The shrimp and potato were drier than I have been accustomed, but this made the flavours more intense. The roti is light and fluffy, great texture and flavour. The owner and her daughter are very warm and friendly. I will be back for sure!
Definitely a neighbourhood gem and I wish I had gone into it earlier. My partner and I absolutely enjoyed the goat roti. We are more than happy to continue supporting this lovely womans business.
Deliciously fresh roti and great depth of flavour. I ate the chickpea one! Call ahead so you can get it. Might take 20 min. Also they don t let anyone in the store during COVID so you will need to call when outside.
Really fresh and home-made feel. The texture of the roti and the spices were absolutely delicious. Had the chicken roti and chickpea roti and both were so good. Highly recommended. Best to order before you head there as the lady Pam makes them fresh from scratch which is nice, takes about 20mins per order.
One of the the best places in the city to get some roti. I had the goat and it was cooked perfectly and the dough was amazing.
Been going since 2000 now its just takeout but roti is excellent !!!!!
One of my go to places for a good roti and the owner and staff are lovely. Give it a try.
